Summer morning (Ana Amari x Fem! Reader)
A/N so it's been a really long time since I've written any fanfics at all and I thought I'd jump back into the ring for fun. I've had this fic idea for the better part of two years now but for some unknown reason I decided to write it just now. I might make a second part to this but I'm not sure, like breakfast and maybe a bit and what the reader would do with Ana all day. I also saw that there isn't many fanfics of my girl Ana and she deserves it so I might post a fic or two more about her.I hope you blokes enjoy what I wrote
Y/N Pov:
I woke up to the light shining in my eyes, I slowly got up and looked over to left where I could see my wife peacefully sleeping. Ana and I decided a while ago that we both deserved a holiday together after going on countless missions. A few years ago, the both of us decided to buy a small house in Iilios, somewhere close to the beach and not too far from the town square where the market could be found. The light was thankfully poring slightly and only on my side so Ana wouldn't be woken up by it.
I slowly got up and made my way to the window, looking out I saw the clear blue sky and the vast never ending sea, in the distance I could see sail boats. Even though it was just the morning, looking at the sun, it was already quite hot but thankfully there was a cool breeze. After a bit I quietly opened the door and carefully made my way down stairs. My body isn't what it was 20 years ago, I'm still pretty physically well off but I can feel my body slowly but surely having enough of all the running around, carrying heavy ammo and making sharp moves.
As I walk down the stairs I look to my left and see the photos of me and Ana, most of them were of us during the glory days of overwatch. Boy, that was a long time ago. A lot of them were of the both of us and Fareeha, especially when she was just a kid. As I got downstairs and made my way to the kitchen, I stopped to look at a group of photos hanging over a dresser. One of them was of the three of us when we went Trick or Treating, Fareeha was just 10 years old then. Another was of Fareeha on her first day of school and another of her standing all happy with a trophy she won. One of my favourites was the wedding photo, that was taken year's ago, now the both us are old women.
Fareeha always saw me as her second mum and always treated me like one. And I always treated her like my own daughter, the best years of my life have been spent with them, seeing Fareeha grow and become stronger. Experiencing new things with Ana and loving her more and more.
Finally after a few minutes of remember wonderful memories I finally got to the kitchen and put the kettle on the stove, the house still had an old fashion stove oven that used fire, you almost never come across those in households over anywhere. I opened up a cabinet and took out a jar full of the best black tea and put it in two cup. As I waited for the water to boil I put in 1 and a half teaspoons of brown sugar and got out a desk to put the tea on. I placed the tea cups filled with hot and cold water on the tray and just incase the sugar if Ana wanted more.
I made my way back up the stairs and place the tray on my nightstand, I crawled back into bed and pulled Ana a bit closer to me so I could spoon her. The second I placed my wrinkly hand into hers, I could feel Ana stir in her sleep and see her eye flutter open.
"Good morning my love" I spoke quietly as Ana rolled over to look at me
"Good morning alsaqr" Ana said with a smile.
Alsaqr is a nickname she gave you because of how similarly you acted as a falcon in combat and how you armour resembled one.
"I made us some tea, drink some" I passed her a cup as Ana pushed herself up to sit.
"You're up quite early Y/N. Any reason why?" Ana asked as she put the cup to her mouth.
"Not really, I just did... I can believe that we're old women now. Looking at the photos it seems like it was just yesterday that I carried Fareeha on my back and ran around with her pretending that she was flying and I was her suit of armour" I spoke in a slight sad but glad tone.
"It has been, the time really does fly quickly, our little Fareeha has grown up really quickly and subsequently we have gotten older."
"I'm happy that you are the one I'm growing old with Ana. You're the only one I'd ever want to grow old with and have experience all the things we have gone through. I love you Ana."
"I love you too Y/N and I'm as every bit as happy as you are alsaqr"
The both of us put our cups away and kisses one another. It was a long and sweet kiss. As we parted we just looked into eachother worn eyes (well, I was looking into just one of her eyes). Even though we both look different then we did 20 or even 30 years ago, Ana still looks at me with the same passion and love that she did all those years ago. The same goes to me. We have said it many times before and shoe shown it to eachother on multiple occasions, and it's not going to stop.
The both of us just layed back down in bed and cuddle, the white sheets being partially draped over us. I held Ana in my arms while we gave eachother kisses. We could feel the breeze coming in every now and the through the open windows cooling us down.
And we just stayed like that until the sun started to shine on our faces and we knew we'd have to get up and start the day.

~SO...THIS IS LOVE~
(Hanzo x You Fem!Reader)
Parte 3
Art by: Yolo Pharaoh
*At the roof preparing for the shift, Hanzo was thr first one to arrive. While checking his last arrows, the equipments and food, he heard something grabbing the edge, when he looked, it was a hook. He laughed and went to help you climb the rope. He looked down and saw you coming*
You- I'm sure that you didn't need to do that...!
Hanzo- Yeah...you're right *laughs and start to pull the rope with you* Come on...!
You- Oh...! *you easily got pull up by him* Wasn't expecting that.
*Arriving in the edge, he hug your waist to put you down safely*
Hanzo- There we go. Feeling safe?
You- *blush* Definitely...I knew that you were strong, but...yeah. *laughs*
Hanzo- Is not only muscles *smirk*
You- I see. *laugh nervously* Guess what...
Hanzo- Mm?
You- Ana Amari put us together.
Hanzo- Ana? *surprised but laughs* I don't know why I'm suprised. By the way, I didn't know that you're a sniper.
You- Yeaah...thanks to Ana, now I'm. *laughs and find the case with the sniper and opens up* Oh wow, they give a Havak Bravo.
Hanzo- Is a good one.
You- Shoots like a dream. *laughs* One of the top 5... 24-inch barrel...stainless steel and accurace of 1/4 MOA.
Hanzo- *surprised* wow...sounds...sexy.
You- *laughed hard* Sexy? That was a good one.
Hanzo- I don't understand much about rifles, but it look pretty good.
You- I don't understand about bow and arrow. *winks* You can teach me someday.
Hanzo- Of course. *blush and smirk* So...First shift. We should look more to the West, there's so trees with actually a good landing spot for a ship...*look at the binoculars* Is kind hard to see if something is coming.
You- Can I check it?
Hanzo- Sure.
You- *looks at the binoculars* Mm... Is a good view from here, but I believe they may get the West, yes.
Hanzo- We should look for everywhere. They may come from behind too. *You stand in front of him, pretty close to him and he blush* And...we should check 360 degree.
You- Yeah...Talon is not a easy target. Doomfist is not dumb bitch...and Reaper? Well, he's the head of all strategic missions.
Hanzo- I think they can imagine his strategy... that's we're here.
You- They're damn scary. *sighs leaving the spot and sitting down to prepare the rifle* The autumn is coming tonight here is Lisboa, it may get cold.
Hanzo- I'm wearing clothes enough *sighs and sitting beside you* And you?
You- Maybe *laughs* If I get cold, I do some pushups.
Hanzo- *giggles* Fine...what time it is?
You- Almost 6am... *look at the sun rising* Wow...look at this, Han!
Hanzo- *look at too* Oh...that's amazing.
You- Kind romantic, isn't? *laughs making him blush*
Hanzo- *giggles* Yeah...romantic. *grab the small box from his pants again* By the way, y/n...Have a while that I wanted to give you this.
You- What? *smile in surprise seeing the box on his hand* Is the size of a ring box *you looked at him provocatively* Are you asking me...?
Hanzo- ...? Ah! No! *laughs in almost panic* Is a necklace!
You- You mean, not yet, right?
Hanzo- *blushing hard* Ye-yeah...I...I guess. *gives to you* I hope you like it...
You- I never received a gift before... *grab the box and slowly opens up* Oh...this is so adorable! *laughs*
Hanzo- It's gold and ruby...*takes the necklace out of the box showing the whole thing* Can I put it?
You- Yeah, sure *blushing turning your back to him* It looks expensive...
Hanzo- Doesn't matter *smiles putting on you gently* The only price that matter now is how much you like it.
You- *giggles* I love it...The fact that you gave me is makes much more lovely.
Hanzo- There we go... let me take a look.
You- *you turned around and making a pose* It looks good?
Hanzo- *laughs* It looks beautiful...
You- Yeah? *smirk not expecting that answer* You think so?
Hanzo- I'm sure of it, my eyes never lie. *giggles and go back to his bow and arrows* Glad you like it.
You- I won't take it off, even if God ask me to.
Hanzo- *giggles* Sounds good ~
*After at least 3 hours of shifting and paying attention to the surrounds, Hanzo is demanded to go down for some new informations while you keep watch. Few minutes later, Ana appears climbing the rope on the edge, you get suprised and helps her*
Ana- Thank you, darling *laughs* I don't have the same strength...
You- You look great, Ana *smiles and she sits down* The fact that you still here fighting...
Ana- I should be retired... not fighting. So... how's going?
You- Here? Well, nothing strange...
Ana- I mean, you and the Shimada boy.
You- Oh...*blush holding the heart necklace* He gave me this...*sits beside her*
Ana- Oooh ~ *she smiles* This is ruby...true ruby. You know what it means?
You- What? The ruby stone?
Ana- It represents pure passion and warmth. Also is very valuable for keeping healthy of the body and soul.
You- *chuckle* You think he knows about that?
Ana- *laughs* Oh darling, he's not dumb at all. He confessed. He could gave a rose quartz, but he wants to go slow...
You- Slow? Why? *you looked worried* Something happened to him?
Ana- Yeah, I think you don't know about his past, darling...not yet. He went trought a lot, like us, but... still hunts him. I just ask you to understand him.
You- I will...I love him, Ana. I don't really talk to him that much, but I can feel a connection. Am I going to fast?
Ana- Soulmates doesn't need to know each other to feel the bond. It just happens and you just know. You're not rushing anything, sweety, you just realised that you love him.
You- *smiles* I hope he feels the same.
Ana- He does, trust me, I know. *smiles* So! The rifle! Did you like it?
You- Yes! Sure! It's beautiful and one of the best!
Ana- Is a pretty good rifle and not expensive, is a top 5 and economical. *look at the rifle that was positioned* You did pretty well building it.
You- Thanks to you, Ana.
Ana- *giggles* Phara never liked guns...she always preferred something a little more violent.
You- You never show her something about it, right?
Ana- I never wish her to join Overwatch...or the army. She's very independent, like her mother *laughs*
You- And she have a amazing mother *smiles*
Ana- Oh darling... thank you so much~
- ANAAA!! *Hear screams down there*
You- Is that...Reinhardt?
Reinhardt- One more minute without you! I'll die!
Ana- Oh my egyptians...*laughs getting up and going to the edge* Reinhardt, darling, don't be so dramatic, I'm going down.
Reinhardt- Come! Jump! I'll catch you! *open his arms*
Ana- *Laughs* Ooh you silly! I'll go down on the rope.
Reinhardt- So I'll help you! Wait for me! *Runs to the spot*
Ana- *laughs and look at you* Not easy, huh?
You- You should give him a chance, Ana. He loves you so much.
Ana- Oh, darling...I don't know. I'm to old for this.
You- Love doesn't age, Ana. *gets up* It's gonna be good for you.
Ana- *walks to you and put the hand on your shoulder* I'll give him a chance when you give a chance to Hanzo.
You- What? *laughs*
Ana- Y/n, if you keep disguising your wishes for him...it may never happen. You love him.
You- I...When I get the chance I may...try. *smiles embarrassed*
Ana- *chuckles* Don't rush, darling, everything will just happen. He just need a little push, you know? Try it out, it may be...fun. *wink and walk away*
*Ana went down and you sit again looking at the necklace, at the same moment, you heard Hanzo climbing and soon getting into the edge sitting down*
Hanzo- Here I am...
You- Welcome back *chuckles*
Hanzo- Reinhardt came from the other base to pick up Ana *laughs* They're so funny and...lovely. *Go sit beside you and take a deep breath drinking some water* Mm...it's night time already, I didn't even notice.
You- Oh, me neither *smiles looking at the sky* Is a little cold, isn't?
Hanzo- I just climb a wall so...I can't really feel *both laugh* Hey...you need my jacket?
You- No, is fine! I like this cold weather, is not that cold too...is just...good.
Hanzo- Right.
You- ... *look at him for a while and go back to the horizon* So, any information?
Hanzo- Well, there's no more attacks in the other countries...some of them holded the Talon's squad and others stayed a chaos after the attack. Jack said that they're may be coming here now.
You- We should much more alert now...at night is so hard...
Hanzo- Yes... but changing the subject...You think that Ana and Reinhardt may married someday?
You- They look good together, huh?
Hanzo- Amazing *laughs* I respect Reinhardt so much...such a gentleman.
You- I told her to give him a chance.
Hanzo- Yeah? *smiles and looks at you* I'll have that chance too someday?
You- *look at him surprised* I...! *laughs embarrassed* Oh god, I wasn't expecting...!
Hanzo- I'm sorry...*laughs and blush* Didn't want to scare you.
You- No no! You didn't scared me, I'm just.. surprised, that's all.
*A silence lay down between you two and both looked at the sky while hearing the sound of the city. The city lights started to wake up making a beautiful view from up there and both of you started to appreciate*
Hanzo- The city is awake...
You- I wish be there *smiles* Having fun...listen to some street music and eating a good piece of apple pie...watch the kids laugh and enjoy every step on the city.
Hanzo- I can show you Tokyo someday. What do you think?
You- Tokyo? *smiles in suprise* Sounds lovely, Hanzo! I love that city!
Hanzo- *laughs* So is gonna be our second date.
You- Second?
Hanzo- This is our first date. *look at the sky*
You- Oooh...*chuckles* Ok, I like that. I didn't even knew, but I won't complain.
Hanzo- Y/n... *his voice went more quite and sad*
You- Yes?
Hanzo- If...If I tell you everything about me, every life detail...every experience, my up and downs...would you still like me?
You- Why you ask me that?
Hanzo- I'm scared...*look at you worry* That you'll hate me knowing who I was. In fact that I still feel the same...I always tried to make changes on me and my head, view things from other perspective, fighting against every demon! But...the man in the mirror never changes.
You-...is because we can't see inside of us. The mirror will only reflect what it can be seen, but it will never show what is happening inside. If you look at me, Hanzo, what do you see?
Hanzo- *looks at you* A joyful beautiful woman...smart, sweet and a warrior.
You- *smiles and blush* Thank you, I wasn't expecting that either.
Hanzo- *chuckles* so...who you actually are?
You- I don't have idea, Hanzo. I didn't find myself yet, and everything that you said to me now, I can't see that on me. I see you as a great man, handsome and very sweet.
Hanzo- But I made a lot of mistakes....So many. *sighs passing his hand through his hair*
You- And it's ok *you smiled playing with some hair lines of his*
*Hanzo looked at you and smiles feeling I little relived, but still fricking out about the idea in telling you everything. You couldn't resist in fix his hair and started to play with it, he only laughed*
You- You should make to pony tails! *laughs* It would be so adorable on that manly face!
*Hanzo stayed hypnotized by your smile and laugh, feeling sleepy by the comfortable air you bring to him. One of his hand rest on your cheek making you shocked for a few seconds, then look into his eyes. You could see love, Ana was right and you can't deny. You could see his eyes shine while holding your face now with both hands*
Hanzo- I've never done this before...*He stutter*
You- Wh-what...?
Hanzo- Kiss *immediately respond*
You- You never kissed before?
Hanzo- Have you?
You- Maybe? *laugh*
Hanzo- I'm new on that, so, I'm a little nervous! I know I'm a man of 38 years old, I should be mature enough to deal with that but I do- *You press your finger against his lips* Mmhm...
You- More you speak, less we make.
Hanzo- *nodded*
Jack- Hey! *he called down there and you gets up going to the edge* Y/n, better stay focus on the surrounding now, they're coming this way! *screams for you and take a deep breath* Lena and the others found them in the air!
You- Copy that! *you turn to Hanzo* Well...
Hanzo- Better we...work. *cleans throat and gets up picking up the binoculars and kind disappointed*
You- Yeah... *walk to your sniper and stayed on positions again checking all surround with the rifle*
Hanzo- This rifle has night vision?
You- Yes, but it kind sucks. I'm not use to it. The binoculars don't have it?
Hanzo- Yeah...kind sucks too, not use to it either *chuckles*
You- *smiles and watch some weird lights on a woods a little far from there and gets serious* Hanzo...two hours, I can see some lights.
Hanzo- Lights? *take the binocular watching the position* Mm... wait a little bit more...we don't kno-! *suddenly a explosion on the building in front*
You- What...?! They're here?! *run to the edge seeing Jack Morrison* Captain!
Jack- I don't know that the fuck happened but get ready to fight! Move! Move!
You- *look at Hanzo the was already shooting against enemies* Hanzo...!
Hanzo- *looks at you* Let's fight in the name of our honour, together!

The Life I Want
Hi guys! This is my first fic posted online! This being said, a little feedback would be appreciated.
English is not my first language so feel free to correct any mistakes!
Warnings: family problems, reader’s mother is an asshole, mentions of death of a minor character, Fareeha is an amazing girlfriend (tell me if I missed any)
Pharah (Fareeha Amari) x Fem! Reader
“Can you hand me that shirt, Habibti?” Fareeha asks from across the room. She’s currently sitting on the floor in front of a suitcase, packing for our upcoming trip.
Summer vacation is almost around the corner. Some agents have already left, some are arriving soon. For a week or so, Overwatch headquarters are almost deserted from agents. The only people left are backup agents or simply the ones who didn’t want to take a vacation. In a way this is good, me and Fareeha can be more affectionate with each other without worrying as much about people finding out about our relationship.
Not even Ana, Fareeha’s mother, knows about us. Not because I think she will judge us, never. I know Ana is accepting since Fareeha already came out to her some years ago. My mother on the other hand…
My mother and Fareeha’s mother do not have a good story. This hate that my mother, specifically, has for Ana began when I was just a kid. You see, my mother works at Overwatch’s executive office, while my dad worked as a field agent. Back in Overwatch’s glory days, the three of them had a companionship no one could break.
Until the accident. A routine mission was being executed, everything seemed well. Ana commanding and my father being her right arm. Then everything went south. I’m not sure what happened that day since no one wanted to explain to a kid why she no longer had a father. My father and five other elite field agents died that day. Ana barely made it out alive. Nonetheless, my mother blamed her for the loss of her husband.
As I grew up, I tried to find more information about that mission but came out empty. Like it never existed. But one thing I’m sure of, it wasn’t Ana’s fault.
Ever since I read what little scraps of reports I could find about that day, me and my mother grew apart. Our different perspectives about a crucial day in our lives made it impossible for us to carry a normal mother and daughter relationship. It only got worse when I entered Overwatch as a field agent. My mom was not happy at all. She almost-
“Habibti? Can you hear me?” The sudden trip back to reality scares me enough to hit my head on the bedside table, making me whine in pain.
“Oh my Ra! I’m so sorry, love. I didn’t mean to scare you.” Fareeha pulls me up, hugging me gently. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine. You just scared me.” I laugh it off. The pain gradually leaving my skull.
In an attempt to make me feel better, my girlfriend kisses my scalp.
“You looked so lost in thought that I got worried.”
Before I could even disclose to her what I was thinking about, a blasting siren makes my eardrums tingle. It’s a mission alert. Both our watches beep, Athena alerting us that we are the last minute assigned agents for this mission.
“Shoot. We should’ve left earlier.” I sulk a little.
“C’mon, darling. This one will just take a few hours.” She reassures me, grabbing my hand and rushing to the armory.
-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-
Well, Fareeha was right. It only took a few hours. But those few hours completely worn me out.
On our way back to headquarters I’m so exhausted I could sleep on the floor. I did try to sleep on the bus’ floor but Fareeha, being the thoughtful girlfriend that she is, pulled me up and allowed me to sleep against her.
“I’ll wake you up when we arrive.” She whispers to me.
Being so drained, I can’t even thank her, so I simply rub my head deeper on her shoulder.
Something that neither of us are aware at the moment is Captain Amari smirking at the cute scene.
-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-
Finally. After a power nap on my way back to headquarters, the only thing I want is to finish packing and get out of here. Of course, something always gets in the way.
“I’m sorry! Agent!” An executive assistant calls for me.
“Yes? Can I help you?”
“Your mother demanded to see you upon your arrival.”
He doesn’t need to say anything else. Everyone around us gives me looks of pity. Word got around that me and my mom have a complicated relationship.
“I’ll be in the hangar when you get out.” Fareeha assures me with a back rub.
As I walk to my mother’s office I change my demeanor to be as neutral as possible. It’s easy to get enraged with her.
I knock on her door and wait for permission to enter. I barely have time to close it before I’m getting screamed at.
“Have you lost your damn mind?! What the hell were you thinking?!” She stands from the chair only to slam her hands flat on the desk.
“Don’t look at me like that. It was an emergency. I didn’t have a choice.” From all the years dealing with my mother, I learned that yelling back would only get my voice sore. It doesn’t matter how much I scream, she never hears.
“Your choice was to never be a field agent.” She’s not screaming anymore but her voice is filled with hatred. For her own daughter.
“We’ve talked about this. I won’t live the life you want for me. This is my life and I’ll do whatever I want with it.”
Her head drops in disappointment.
“It’s Amari’s daughter, isn’t it?”
“Excuse me?”
“Don’t try to lie to me. I saw you two kissing the other night! She’s the reason you’ve been so irresponsible later, right? She’s a bad influence.”
I can’t even begin to wonder how she even got to this conclusion.
“You know, just because you hate Captain Amari doesn’t mean you can talk about her and her family in any way you want. She’s still above you.” I try to keep my tone as monotone as I can.
“That woman killed my husband! You’re rolling in bed with the daughter of the woman who killed your father!”
“She didn’t kill him. You know that. You know that better than me. But your mind still needs someone to blame, so you attack the first person you can think of. Hating Captain Amari is going to end up ruining your life, mother.”
As happens every time she knows I’m right, she diverts the subject.
Sitting back down, she recollects herself as to be ‘the bigger person.’ Whatever that means to her.
“You are forbidden to see her from now on. And no more missions, I’ll do my best to get your contract terminated so you can work under me.”
I can only stare at her like she’s crazy. But then again, she may be.
“You cannot order me around! No one is getting between me and Fareeha nor me and my job.” And the calm is out the window.
“It isn’t up for debate.”
“No, it isn’t.” I get closer to her desk, leaning right above her. “You do not tell me what to do anymore. I don’t follow your orders. You are not my superior. You are barely my mother anymore.”
That finally catches her attention, her eyes widen. She has the nerve to act as if it is a surprise.
“I am your mother. I am your only family.”
“You are not my family. Those people out there are my family. They’ve been through hell with me! They held me when I was down! They’ve carried my body when I couldn’t move! They’ve literally saved my life in every way imaginable! They are my family!”
“If you think like that, how about we make it official?” She stands up again, making me take a step back. A defense mechanism for her… unpredictability during arguments.
“How so?” I ask, curious.
“Since I can’t punish you, how about I forbid you to use my properties?”
My eyes darken before my head drops. Mine and Fareeha’s planned trip was to a beach house my mother owns. Even though Fareeha would be disappointed, I can’t back down. It’s time to face my mother.
“Go ahead. I don’t need anything that comes from you. I don’t need you.”
My mom leans back surprised with the venom in my voice, completely speechless.
Finally, the arguing is over. I can leave. So I do.

I walk in the hangar with my head low. Fareeha will be disappointed when I tell her we can’t go on our vacation anymore. At least I still have my apartment, which is in my name, so my mother can’t take that away from me. Maybe me and Fareeha can have a summer vacation in my apartment? Yeah, that doesn’t sound nearly as good as a beach house.
Looking around for the Egyptian woman, I spot her putting our suitcases in the trunk of her car. She must have finished packing everything. Now I feel even worse.
Before I have the courage to walk up to her, her eye spots my figure. I assume I look bad because as soon as her eyes land on me, her expression screams worry.
When I finally get to the car, my head is still hanging low. There’s no point in masking my feelings with Fareeha, she reads me like an open book.
“Oh habibti…” She hugs me tight. Comforting arms embracing my body. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“We need to talk about it, Fareeha.” I still don’t look up at her. All I want to do is nuzzle my face in her neck forever. “We can’t go on our vacation.”
She forces me to look at her with her hand on my chin. “Why is that?” her voice much more gentle than I predicted.
“My mother forbade me to use her properties. The beach house is hers so we can’t go there now.” I bury my head in her neck again.
“That’s okay, love.”
“No! That’s not okay! You wanted to go to the beach. How the hell are we gonna do it now?”
“Love, I wanted to be with you. I don’t care if our summer is spent on the beach or on your apartment floor eating ice cream, as long as I’m with you.” She explains.
“Are you sure?” I ask, looking at her in the eyes to grasp her genuine answer.
“Of course.” Her soft, warm eyes disclose that she is telling the truth.
When I give her a simple nod, she pulls me even closer to give me a reassuring kiss. But before our lips meet, a voice echoes through the hangar.
“Hello, lovebirds.”
The hangar makes a tremendous amount of echo, so when I hear Ana’s voice it makes me jump away from Fareeha so fast that if it wasn’t for her I would’ve landed on my butt.
“Oh- Greetings, Captain Amari.” Fareeha giggles behind me at how formal my nervous tone was.
“Call me Ana, sweetie. No need to be formal to your future mother-in-law.”
Fareeha, sensing that I’m completely frozen in place, holds my hand and steps in front of me.
“I’m sorry, mother. This is not how we wanted to tell you.”
The Captain only quirks one eyebrow up.
“Who do you take me for? I’ve known for months.”
Both me and Fareeha stare at her in disbelief.
“How did you know?” Asks Fareeha.
“A mother knows.” She gives her daughter her signature smirk. Then her eyes land on me. “Besides, the heart eyes you throw at each other since you met were dead giveaways.”
Finally finding my voice, I speak up. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I figured you’d tell me when you were ready.”
“So… you’re okay with this? Me and your daughter?”
Ana approaches me and grabs my shoulders gently.
“You make my daughter happy. That’s all I care about.”
“Thank you, Ana.” I say before hugging her. I let my body relax against her comforting embrace.
“Of course, dear. Now…” The woman pulls away. “I heard what happened with your mom. You two are looking for a beach house?”
“H- How did you know?” I ask.
“Your mother screams very loudly. Anyways, I have a beach house you can use for your vacation if you want.”
Fareeha stares at her mother, curious. “Since when do you have a beach house?”
“Since I died. It was one of my safehouses. You can use it all you want.”
Ana walks to her daughter and gives her the key.
“Thank you, mother.” They hug each other. It might be the first time I witness their beautiful bond.
“Thank you, for choosing an amazing daughter-in-law for me.”
My face heats. It may be a little too soon for that.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, okay?” Fareeha starts guiding me to her car. “I’ll call you when we get there!” She half screams.
“Good trip, girls!”
“Thank you!” I shout back.
And we finally went on our summer vacation.

Can I request prompt 21 with Ana Amari x fem reader, please?
21. “Isn’t this better―you not fighting me for once?”
It's been stressful between the two of you, tension arising anytime she would step into the same room as you that definitely cause a insult or two to be thrown at her face, though darling despite her sour look Ana is rather patient with you
But it was the moment she told you that the world knows the both of you as dead now, that no one is coming to save you for they don't know the truth, that broke your stubborn nature.
Hours have been spent quite sitting besides this woman, peaceful to anyone else but dread weighed on your shoulders as the reality you were stuck in processed in your mind. “Isn’t this better―you not fighting me for once?” Ana said while placing a arm over your shoulder, patting it once or twice looking at you for some response with a uncharacteristically warm smile, but you weren't ready to see that yet, just let her peace last for a little while longer soon you'll get free

Jealous McCree x Fem!Reader
You liked hanging around with the older Soldiers, liked listening to their stories. And for some reason Jesse sat next to you whenever you went to listen to their stories. You couldn't tell why but whenever you put your tray down on a table with another male sitting at it, Jesse was immediately there. It was like magic.
It wasn't like you didn't enjoy his company, but it was definitely odd. Like today. You sat down at a table with the old soldiers: Ana, Reinhardt, Gabriel and Jack. Even though you didn't call them on a first name basis, you knew their names. Of course you did. And they were nice. All of them.
And promptly, Jesse sat down next to you. Ana threw him a knowing side glance that you didn't notice. You poked around in your food, listening to Jack's rough voice, talking about the fight in Tokyo.
"And then they surrounded us, no way out. We were cornered." You listened in excitement. "Suddenly, one Soldier falls down, knocked out. Behind him stood Ana! Her rifle in hand, the handle just behind his neck." Ana chuckled. "It was easy to get to you. These idiots were dense. I still can't believe that you two didn't keep check of yourselves."
Gabriel shrugged. "We had other things in mind." Captain Amari shook her head. "The hostage was the first priority. But you two were too young. You can be glad that at least one of us had a clear mind." You chuckled and pushed a fork of mashed potatoes into your mouth. Gabriel looked over to you.
"What's so funny, rookie?" Jesse answered. "You and not concentrating on a mission? Seems so unfamiliar, boss." Commander Reyes rolled his eyes. "Ai since when are you here?" Jesse shrugged. "A few minutes. But you and losing your temper. On a MISSION. I can barely believe you, Captain!"
Reinhardt raised his voice "Oh you young boy. Then you haven't heard about Dresden, have you?" Reyes tensed up as he was trying to eat. "That was a completely different story!" The other older soldiers began to laugh and Jesse with them. You sat there and ate, looking at McCree. Wasn't he behaving a bit odd today? You mean even more than usual. He saw you staring.
"What're ya lookin' at, beautiful? Got somethin' stuck in my teeth?" Oh shit! Being caught is always embarrassing so of course you blushed. "U- hm... No I- I was just looking at that... that new hat?", you stammered out. Great. Fuel the fire of embarrassment even more. You're doing great, y/n. Reinhardt let out his roaring laughter. "That sounded more like a question, young lady." Ana pushed his elbow into his side, giving him a menacing glare.
You rubbed the back of your head and shrugged. "Young love blooming is a beautiful thing." Lieutenant Wilhelm said in a softer voice and you chocked on your drink, Jesse on the other hand chuckled and softly pat your back. "You okay, y/n?" You put your glass down your face now a dark shade of red. You threw him a glare.
"Yes. I'm fine." Now you pushed his hand off of you, tending to your food. He was cute, yes, but he was just like that with everybody. Let's look at Dr. Ziegler for example. Jesse was just a charmer towards every lady. And you didn't want to be interrupted with anything now. You looked at him. Who said that that's a crime? You thought he was handsome. Who can blame you? Him with this rigged body and this soft beard.
There was this incident in training and well... You kind of had to be given mouth-to-mouth and it may have been Jesse who had given you the "kiss of life" but that didn't mean anything! That's why you know that his beard is soft anyway. He was exhausted after doing that cardiac massage so his head laid on your chest. It felt quite nice in contradiction to your broken ribs.
You kept to yourself. Maybe he had just been looking after you at lunch. When there was another remark thrown at you from Commander Reyes, which had the words "lovebirds" and "fucking at work" in it, you took a deep breath, took a look at the time and said "I'm so sorry. I've gotta go. Genji wanted me to help him with the recalibration of his fingers before training."
"I can get you there. You're always kinda lost in the halls." Jesse offered. You gritted your teeth, smiling nicely, accepting his offer. After both of you had brought your trays away, you walked out of the dining hall into the corridors of the headquarters.
As soon as the door was closed behind you, you pinned the cowboy against the wall.
"Listen. I know you saved my life.", you hissed, "I know you just mean well but for gods sake Jesse McCree, I can take care of myself. So please don't treat my like a goddamn toddler."
After staring at you for a while he whispered "You're so hot." Right at you. You tilted your head and exclaimed "What?!" And suddenly, he kissed you. You, after being in a state of shock for a moment, returned the kiss.
When your mouths parted, you slapped him right across the face. He chuckled, rubbed his cheek and said. "I deserve that one. Couldn't hold back anymore." You, still mad, shouted "Could you please just tell me what the heck is going on here?!"
Jesse softly grabbed the hand that was still holding his shoulder and said "You know, y/n, I'm not protecting you or anything. I kinda just keep an eye on you." You raised an eyebrow. "Because of what?" You asked with a smile on your face.
"Because well.." He averted his eyes and took a deep breath. "Because I wanna wait for the perfect moment to ask you out and I can't have another guy ruining it for me." You snorted. "You're asking me out right now?" He shrugged and said "Well if there's something else you wanna do tonight I can understand-" "I'm free.", you cut him off.
You turned now and started walking down the hallway. "See you later, Cowboy." You said and walked away from him.
"Really?" He asked and you nodded in response. "Well now, I better get goin' then. Gotta prepare some things for ya." You nodded and let him go. "You go do that. At eight?" "Sounds fine to me."
This was going to be a fun night.

Skyfall
A pretty typical scene was playing out in the hanger. Agents were buzzing around getting ready for whatever mission awaited them that day, hanger staff were prepping the jets, and Gabe was trying to convince Y/N not to go on a mission without him; as per his custom whenever he couldn’t go with her.
“Gabe, honey, I’m going to be okay. We’re just attending the convention, getting some intel and I’ll be doing some translating. It doesn’t get much safer than that. I won’t even see any action.” She tells him giggling, stretching up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to come with you, Carino?” Inquired Gabe, pulling Y/N into a giant hug, “It would almost be like a mini vacation for us.”
Before Y/N got a chance to answer Jack cut in, “Absolutely not, Gabe you are not allowed to be anywhere near Italy right now. Besides I wouldn’t send her in if I didn’t think it was safe.”
“Don’t worry boss,” said McCree walking up to the trio, “I’ll keep an eye on her for you. We know how you worry.”
“See,” Y/N said keeping your arms wrapped around Gabe, “I’ll be perfectly safe, and I’ll be home in three days time. Just in time for our one-year anniversary. Jack wouldn’t dare risk Ana’s anger if I wasn’t here for whatever she has in mind.”
Gabe looked over at Jack and saw him vigorously nodding his head in agreement, “I suppose you’re right. I just worry about you when I’m not around to watch your back.” He presses a gentle kiss against her temple.
“I’ll see you in three days sweet cheeks,” wrapping her arms around his neck she pulled him for a passionate kiss, “I love you, Gabe.”
“I love you too Y/N” he watched as she boarded the jet. She turned around at the top and waved before the door closed. Turning to Jack he said, “I have a bad feeling about this one.”
“Don’t worry Gabe, it’s going to be okay,” he replied placing his hand on his shoulder, “She has Jesse and Moira watching her back.”
The two men stood there until the jet was no longer in sight, “Still something doesn’t feel right Jack, and it’s not just because I’m not going with her.” He could feel it in the pit of his stomach.
Jack looked at the other man, Gabe’s arms were crossed, and his lips were pressed together in a slight frown, “Come on, let’s go for a run. Some fresh air will help.”
Two Days Later
Gabe leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms up over his head. He just finished yet another report and he needed a break. “Maybe I’ll go for a run,” he thought to himself. With a quick look out the window, he saw the sun shining and decided that would be the perfect distraction. He has been a little antsier this past week since Y/N went out on that mission without him. Jesse was more than capable of keeping her safe. Plus, Moira was there along with Amandla, another agent he personally recruited. He just always felt better when he was able to go with her and watch her back. He knew he was being overly paranoid about Y/L being gone, but he just had this gut feeling he couldn’t shake. “A run is definitely needed,” he thought, grabbing his gym bag.
A knock sounded at his office door before Ana Amari appeared in his sightline, “Gabe, do you have a minute?” She asked tonelessly with barely concealed pity on her face.
“I was going to go out for a run, but for you, I can make a minute.” He laughed leaning back against the door frame, “What’s up?”
Ana stood there and pointed towards his chair, “Why don’t you have a seat, Gabe?” She watched his smile slip and brows pull together in confusion, but he took a seat anyways. She made herself comfortable in the other chair in front of his desk. “I don’t want to have to do this, she was perfect for him,” thought Ana taking a deep breath. “Gabe, there has been an accident in Italy.” She paused, a look of understanding dawned on Gabe’s face, quickly replaced with grief, and then anger.
“Is she okay?” His voice sounded hollow even to himself. He knew if Ana was here and telling him to sit that everything wasn’t okay, “What happened to her?”
This was the part Ana was dreading. “There was an explosion at the convention. We think the goal was to take out the President during his speech, Y/N was translating for him. She was too close to the blast. There was nothing anyone could do. By the time Jesse got there, she was gone. I’m so sorry Gabe.” She placed her hand on his leg and felt him tense under her touch.
The colour drained out of Gabe’s face, his head was racing, he didn’t know what to think, “She can’t be gone, she can’t be. I should’ve been there. I could’ve protected her, I could’ve…” he trailed off, his voice cracking, “I should have been there Ana. I should have protected her.” Unshed tears began to fell down his face.
“Don’t worry Gabe, we’ll get the bastards that did this, I promise,” she stood up, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to let me know.”
“Thanks, Ana, I will.” He gave her a sad smile and waited until she left his office. Flopping himself back into his desk chair he picked up one of the only photos on his desk. It was a picture of him and Y/N at the fair eating cotton candy with the Farris wheel in the background. They both looked truly happy and with that, the tears started to fall down his face.
***
Amandla walked down the hallway towards Gabe’s office in a daze, her expression closed off. It felt weird to be back here without Y/N. “It should be Y/N giving this gift to Gabe, not me. I’m a poor substitute.” She thought to herself, pushing open the door to reception. Only to be greeted by Ana, “Captain.”
“I’m sorry, I knew you two were close.” Remarked Ana, carefully pulling her into a hug, “How is your arm?”
“It’ll heal,” she said thoughtfully, “All things considered, I think I got the better end of the deal.” Sadness clouded over her features while recognize dawned on Ana’s face.
“Gabe is in his office if you’re looking for him. Amandla, if you need anything just let me know okay?”
With a nod of her head, Amandla turned to face the door leading into Gabe’s office. Her good hand clenched into a fist at her side. She willed it to rise and knock on his door. She heard the muffled reply and took that as her invitation to enter. She owned her friend at least this much.
“Commander,” she greeted before making herself at home in one of the chairs in front of his desk, “How are you?”
He lifted his shoulders in a half shrug, “Been better.”
Amandla was shocked to hear his voice sound so dead. She was expecting him to display some form of emotion, probably anger, grief, or sadness, however, she wasn’t expecting him to be so unemotional; it was unsettling. She looked down to the ground to compose herself. “She wanted you to have this Gabe. I shared a hotel room with Y/N on this mission and she bought this on our first day there.” She set the bag down on the table, “I’m sorry Gabe. I really am.”
“Your arm, what happen to it?” He may have been looking at you, but his eyes were a million miles away, swimming in a sea of emotions.
“It’s broken, the force of the explosion knocked me back.” She paused as she took in the sight of his eyebrows snapping together, “When I heard the mechanical whirl sound, I ran towards the stage trying to grab Y/N and pull her off the stage. But I was too late. The next thing I remember is waking up on the plane and McCree informing me of what happened. I’m sorry I couldn’t save her Gabe.”
Gabe could see the tears forming in her eyes, “It’s okay Amandla. You did everything you could, thank you for trying.” He told her, hoping his voice at least sounded somewhat appreciative.
Once she left the office Gabe opened the bag and pulled out a bottle of Scottish whiskey. A piece of paper fell to the floor and he noticed her elegant writing on it. He warily picked up the note and examined it.
Gabe, I hope you enjoy this as much as I think you will. I love you!
For the second time that day Gabe sobbed in his office.
***
Jesse paced circles outside of Gabe’s office door. He had just gotten back from that godforsaken mission a few hours ago. After debriefing and a quick visit to medical he made his way to the commander’s office with every intention of going in to talk to him, however, he couldn’t bring himself to knock on the door. He didn’t know what to do or what to say.
Ana looked up from her paperwork and saw the cowboy still pacing outside of Gabe’s door and decided to go speak to him, “Jesse, just go talk to him. It wasn’t your fault, you couldn’t have done anything. He’s your friend, he needs you right now.”
With a sigh, he admitted she was right. Knocking on the door he waited until he heard Gabe call out inviting him inside. Once inside he looked around, if he didn’t know better he’d assume it was just another day, with the exception of the half empty bottle of whiskey on his desk. “Gabe…”
“Don’t,” he snarled, “Whatever you’re going to say Jesse just don’t.”
McCree drew his bottom lip in between his teeth, thinking about his options. Once he settled on a course of action he walked over to Gabe, “Hold out your hand” he said softly.
Gabe unclenched his fist and held his hand out to McCree, “I thought you might want to have this.” When Gabe looked down to see what was in his hand he drew in a sharp breath and fell back into his chair, his legs suddenly weak. In his hand rested a silver necklace with elephant pendant.
“I got her this on an undercover mission, she said it fit her because she never forgot anything,” he gave a mirthless laugh at that, “I thought it was cute because the eye was emerald that matched the striking green colour of her eyes. You should’ve seen her face when I pulled out my wallet to buy it for it. That was the first moment I knew she was who I wanted to spend my life with. That she was the one I couldn’t live without.”
“Gabe,” the cowboy started, reaching his hand out towards him before thinking better of it, “I’m sorry I couldn’t keep her safe.” He finished in a defeated tone of voice.
Gabe chuckled darkly, “It was my job to keep her safe, not your job. I should have been there. I should’ve fought harder to be there. Damn the rules to hell.”
Gabe stood and poured them each a generous measure of whiskey, handing a glass to McCree, “To Y/N,” He offered, raising his glass into the air, “She was the best out of all of us.” He finished, bottom lip trembling.
“To Y/N.” Echoed McCree raising his glass to meet Gabe’s before downing his drink.
***
It was two days before the funeral when a knock rang out through the apartment. When the door whooshed open Jack’s, eyebrows raised in surprise. He wasn’t expecting Gabe to look like a million dollars, but he didn’t expect him to look this bad either. His skin looked ashen, his eyes glistened with unshed tears, and his usually clean-shaven face was sporting the beginnings of a beard.
“Angela sent me over with supper and some of her famous chocolate chip cookies.” He said pushing his way past Gabe and into his kitchen, “She made taco salad. Best to eat it while it’s still fresh. Why don’t you sit down on the couch and I’ll bring it over?” Jack didn’t wait for any sign of confirmation before getting to work. He had helped Y/N many times do the dishes after she hosted a supper, he knew where everything was. His heart constricted when he thought of her and then of his friend suffering on the other side of the room. With the two plates, he sat down on the couch beside Gabe.
“I got us each a beer,” Gabe said gruffly, clearing his throat. “Thank you, and please tell your wife I really appreciate her keeping me in food this past little bit. Between her bringing me food, Emily keeping my fridge stocked, and Reinhart keeping me in German beer, I’ll never go hungry again.” A smile appeared on his face, but it didn’t reach his eyes. Jack knew it was forced.
The pair sat in silence, sharing a meal and drinking beer together. Once the dishes were done and put away Gabe turned to Jack, “Why wouldn’t you let me go with her?” He screamed, the words ripping out of his chest.
“Gabe…” started Jack at a loss for words, “My hands were tied, if I could have let you go with her I would’ve. You know after what happened during Retribution you aren’t allowed back in Italy right now.”
“Bullshit,” spat Gabe, his lips drawn back in a snarl, “I call bullshit. McCree and Moira got to go. I could’ve kept her save.”
“I know they did, and I know it seems unfair but unlike you, they aren’t such public figure and not as easily recognizable as you are.”
“I should have been there, I should have saved her. It should’ve been me and not her.” Gabe slammed his fist on the table for emphasis, his voice increasing in volume with each word. The tension in the room was thick but the next words from Gabe’s mouth shattered that in a matter of sections, “I let her down Jack. I failed her.”
Jack had never seen his friend so broken before. Sadness clouded his features as tears began to fall. Not knowing what else to do, Jack wrapped his arms around him and pulled into a hug. Gabe’s whole body shook as he released everything he has been holding on to since it happened.
Somewhere in the back of Gabe’s mind, he knew he’d have to apologize for everything he said to Jack. But for now, he let himself be comforted by his friend.
***
A few days later the majority of Blackwatch and Overwatch’s members arrived at their Switzerland base, only for a greatly different purpose than what they had originally planned on. Instead of arriving for an anniversary party for Blackwatch’s commander, they were here for a funeral of a fallen friend. One who happened to be the commander’s partner, killed in the line of duty. That alone would be enough to draw a crowd, in addition to the fact that Y/N was well liked, everyone wanted to pay their respects to their fallen friend. The mood was sombre as they made their way into the on-base chapel. There wasn’t an empty seat to be had, save for the front row, which was reserve red for he closest friends.
In a room off to the side of the chapel Jesse paced around the room, it was almost time to start and Gabe hasn’t been seen since the wake yesterday. It was a private event, reserved for those closest to her. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder, it was Ana “He’ll be here Jesse, this isn’t easy for him. For any of us.”
“I know, I just wish he would let us help more. I’m worried about him.”
“Me too Jesse, me too,” she said pensively, “We have to give him space and be there for him when he is ready for our help.”
Just than Gabe walked into the room, only looking slightly worse for wear. His hair was combed, but he had dark circles under his red and somewhat swollen eyes. It was obvious he had been crying, no one in the room felt the need to mention it. They couldn’t imagine what he was going through.
“Sorry I’m late everyone,” he said looking at the floor, he couldn’t face their pity filled eyes again.
He looked up when he felt a hand rest on his shoulder, “Gabe…”
“I know Jack,” replied Gabe giving his head a slight nod to acknowledge Jack’s unspoken words of support, “I know.” His eyes followed Jack as he moved to go stand by Angela. Taking a deep breath, he let his eyes roam around the room. Fareeha stood next to Jesse, Lena and Emily were talking to Ana and Reinhard.
The chaplain poked his head in the door, “It’s time.”
A hush fell over the room as everyone moved to get in a line behind Gabe with Tracer at the end. They made their way into the chapel single file and occupied the seats saved for them in the front row. The ceremony moved by in a blur to Gabe until the chaplain motioned to him to come forward and deliver the eulogy. It was only when Ana gently nudged him in the side he realized what had to be done.
With an outward calm, he didn’t really feel he made his way up to the podium. He let his eyes roam over the crowd and landed on some familiar faces. Angela’s hand was on Jack’s legs in a comforting way; a package of tissues sat on her own lap. Jesse was gripping Fareeha’s hand so hard his knuckles were white, Gabe knew that the young man still felt guilty he couldn’t save her. Next, his eyes landed on Amandla, her lower lip was drawn between her teeth in an effort to remain in control of her emotions. Beside her sat Tracer, drawing support from the older women beside her. Emily stood over by the door, she took it upon herself to help prepare the refreshments for after the funeral. She had been close to Y/N and wanted to help in some way. Moira sat there, her face devoid of emotions. Finally, his eyes landed on Ana. She caught his eyes and gave him and an encouraging smile.
He gripped the podium with shaky hands, drawing a breath he looked at the mostly scratched out notes in front of him. “In the whole two and half years that I have known Y/N she has done nothing but make my life better. For example, I know most of you think that nice green plant on my desk is a new one to replace the old one. Only the truth is Y/N nursed that mostly dead ivy back to life. If I let that thing die I have no doubt in my mind she will come back, just to smack me upside the head if nothing else.”
He paused while laughter ran out from the crowd, “I know a lot of you have interacted with Y/N personally or know of someone who has. She was the sweetest, caring, and kind individual I’ve ever known. She would bake cookies and leave them in the break rooms, she would always be willing to help someone out, and would always be there if you needed a friend. But if you crossed her there was no safe place in the world or you. I would know since I was frequently the target of her ire.” He chuckled darkly.
Gabe looked over to the casket, the flag of the Y/N’s country draped on top, then back out to the crowd, “I know Y/N meant a lot to you, but you all meant a lot to her. Ana and Angela, she looked at you both like the mothers she never had. Jesse, she thought of you as her older brother. Amandla, you were her best friend and like a sister to her. Tracer and Emily, you guys were also like her sisters and she loved competing with you guys in everyone from. Fareeha you were the crazy cousin, you two were thick as thieves and always getting into to trouble. Moira she didn’t know you well but wanted to learn more about you. Last but certainly not least, Jack and Reinhart, she thought of you like her fathers. She was always scared that she would let you two down somehow. She never had a family of her own but made one for herself when she joined up and all our lives are better for knowing her. I know mine certainly was.”
Ana passed him a tissue as Gabe took his place beside her. The rest of the memorial passed by for Gabe much like the first half did, in a blur. The next thing he knew it was time to carry the casket out. Gabe had received special permission to have Y/N buried under her favourite tree. Gabe moved to the front right of the casket, Jack the front left, Ana the back right, and Jesse on the back left. As they made their way out of the room the processional party followed behind them. Everyone else stayed seated and watched a live feed on the TV.
The pallbearers set the casket down on a stand and stood off to the side while the rest of the party filled in around the grave. Jack, Ana, Jesse, and Angela folded up the flag and handed it to Jack. He turned to stand in front of Gabe, “She will always be remembered and part of our family.” He said before presenting the flag.
Gabe took the flag, “Thank you, Jack,” he turns to everyone, “Thank you all for everything you have done for me.”
One by one the party tossed a simple red rose into her grave before making their way back to the chapel. Where the mingled with fellow agents and shared their favourite stories and memories of Y/N.
One Year Later
Gabe stood in front of her tombstone and he was at a loss for what to say. “It’s been a year, I miss you more than anything Y/N. It’s the kind of day you’d love, it is nice and sunny with just enough of a breeze to fly a kite. I know you’d drag me out here away from my paperwork and I’d pretend grumble about it, but we both know I’d love it. Not much has changed here, we’re all still healing. Ana and Angela have taken it upon themselves to host a family meal every Sunday for those of us who are around. Fareeha and Jesse got married and are expecting a baby, if it’s a girl they plan on naming her after you. They’ve asked me to be the godfather. Tracer and Emily are still working at keeping the fridge stocked. I’ll come back from missions and just find it filled with homemade meals. Reinhart is still as loud and cheerful as ever and still brings me German beer. Amandla got herself a girlfriend, she’s really nice too, you’d have liked her. Jack is still as solid as ever. He’s always there when the days are bad. So, don’t worry about me Carino, I’m in good hands here.”
He set the bouquet of red roses down in front of her tombstone and turned around, surprise gracing his features, “How long have you been there for?”
“Not long,” replied Ana, “We waited until you were finished before we came over.”
“The bench was a nice touch, Gabe,” said Jack before reading the plaque, “In loving memory of Y/N. May you continue to be a ray of sunshine.”
“It seemed fitting,” a flush crept up Gabe’s neck, “She was a ray of sunshine.”
Ana made her way in between the two men and wrapped her arms around their waist, “We should get going, Angela won’t be happy if we’re late and the food goes cold.”
The trio made their way back to the apartment shared by Jack and Angela in comfortable silence. Each reflecting on the various changes the year brought and wishing that a certain someone would be here to see everything that has been, and has yet to be, accomplished.

Chapter One
You gripped the strap of your bag tightly, your knuckles going white from tension. Biting your lip, you slowly made your way into the Watchpoint. It was your first assignment, and boy were you nervous. Your stomach felt empty and heavy at the same time; your knees were weak but your feet felt heavy.
You were sixteen; much too young to have enlisted. But you did anyway, because why the hell not.
“(L/n)?” a gruff, deep voice said. You looked up from your feet and saw a blond man, who you recognized as Strike Commander Jack Morrison. You had a poster of him in your room when you were little. You vividly remember having a crush on him, and boasting to your family members how you were going to marry him one day.
Boy, were you a stupid kid.
“Y-yes sir!” you saluted, straightening your posture automatically. Letting out a light chuckle, he nodded at you; a signal that you could relax, at least in his presence. And you did so. Your back hunched a bit, making you look shorter than you were, and you stuffed your hands into the pockets of your pants.
Your assignment was so last minute, you were still in civilian clothes. Then again, you had gotten the call just that morning. Four in the morning, of all things. And the ride in Overwatch’s private transport made the time differences even harder. Then there’s the jet lag.
“You’re a bit young to be enlisting, aren’t you?” asked the commander as he looked through your files on the holo-pad. Your cheeks heated up in embarrassment; you knew he was speaking before but you didn’t hear what he said and you never thought he’d actually think your age as a bad thing. “How hard was it to get your parents’ permission?” He smiled a bit, remembering what it was like when he first told his parents he was enlisting into the military.
Your face reddened more; but you weren’t sure if it was from the sudden wave of dread or the nervousness to answer the question. Either way, you took a shaky breath and answered with as even a voice as you could.
“M-my parents are dead, sir…” your answer quietly, barely above a whisper as you spoke. Jack was silent, and he felt ashamed he assumed and asked you that. He didn’t know until he suddenly glanced over it in your file.
Damn.
“I’m so sorry,” he quickly said to you. “I didn’t know.” You nodded at him, telling him it was okay and that you understood. You just silently hoped he didn’t open that wound up any more. Clearing his throat, he looked down at you once more.
He went over the basics: he was your superior and you had to report to him; you had training with other recruits and there was no holding back; your mission reports were due a week or less after said mission; and you were under no circumstance to disobey orders given by your superior.
It was straight forward in your opinion, and you had no problems with the rules set in place. Jack was about to escort you to your bunks when he got a call over coms.
“Commander Morrison here,” he said, pressing to his com piece. You stood there, awkwardly as he spoke to the individual rather harshly, you noticed. “Damn it, Reyes.” A sigh. “I’ll be right there.”
He looked at you sadly, and a pang of guilt eating at him. Out of the corner of Jack’s eye he caught the sight of one of his friends.
“Ana!” he called out. The Egyptian woman looked over and smiled at the sight of Jack. She walked over to the two of you. Jack gestured to you, “This is (y/n) (l/n); she’s a new recruit. (y/n), this is Captain Ana Amari; the best sniper in the world.”
Ana let out a chuckle, “Oh Jack, you flatter me.” She directed her attention to you. “It’s always good to have a fresh new face; welcome to Overwatch.”
Saluting her, you nodded. “It’s good to be here, ma'am.”
“No need for formalities, dear.”
“Ana,” Jack spoke up, “I need to help Reyes deal with McCree. He got into another fight with one of my recruits. I’ll need to know what happened so I can file a report. Can you take (l/n) to her bunk and show her the base?”
Ana nodded, “Of course, Jack. I’d be happy too. It also gives me an excuse to check on Fareeha.” You raised an eyebrow, wondering who this “Fareeha” was. Ana noticed your confusion. “My daughter. She’s a few years younger than you, actually.”
“I have to run.” Jack said walking away. He muttered something about “Damn delinquents.”
Ana gestured for you to follow and you did, hoping you could keep up with her quick pace. “Jesse never gets along with the recruits,” she muttered to herself. You assumed Jesse was the guy Morrison called McCree. “I blame Gabriel and Blackwatch for that.”
“Black…watch?” you questioned. You didn’t know there was such a thing; you only ever heard of Overwatch.
Ana nodded, glancing at you before grabbing your bicep to hurry you to her pace. She spoke quietly yet harshly.
“Blackwatch is an elite covert operations section of Overwatch. They handle all of the "dirty” jobs the United Nations won’t let us handle.“
"Ma'am, I didn’t know Blackwatch exsisted.” you responded a bit nervously.
“Civilians don’t. Only members of Overwatch and Blackwatch know it exsists; along with all political personnel it concerns. Like I said,” she looked at you, “civilians don’t know about Blackwatch.” She smiled. “But you’re not a civilian anymore, (y/n).”
“It’s going to be… hard to get used to,” you replied, hugging your waist with your free arm. “Not being a civilian, I mean.”
Ana nodded, knowing it was a hard transition for her at the beginning.
“So, what made you want to join Overwatch in the first place?”
You cleared your throat, “It’s a long story…” you scratched the back of your neck.
Ana sensed you were uncomfortable and stopped walking. She pulled you to face her. “It’s alright, dear. You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to. We all have our reasons for joining, and you choose to keep yours private. That’s perfectly fine.”
You smiled, “Thank you, Captain Amari.” Ana chuckled.
“Please, call me Ana.”
“Okay, Ana.”
Ana showed you to your bunks that you shared with a few other female recruits. There was one bed left, in the back against the wall. There was a chest on the front with a digital name tag on the front that read “(y/n) (l/n)”. She explained that is where your belongings go and where your uniform will be laid out every morning.
There was no one in the bunks since most of the recruits were training or they were in town for a much needed day off. She left you to get settled and promised to be back to take you to dinner.
You set up your little corner of your bunk. It was snug, but you expected nothing less since it was the military. You unpacked your civilian clothing and other personal items into the trunk. You pulled out a crumpled up poster from the bottom of the bag. It was torn and wrinkled, but you smoothed it out on the wall before pinning it above your bed. You smiled at it.
It was an Overwatch poster with “Join now” written in big letters with members of Overwatch on it. The members were Captain Amari, Commander Morrison, a man who you’d heard from news reports as Gabriel Reyes, and a man named Reinhardt Wilhelm, whom your best friend had told you about. Your best friend Jay had taken a few trips to Germany to visit her grandparents and they told her all the stories of the brave crusader. If she could, Jay would’ve joined with you. But her parents told her to wait until she finished high school. You remember how she talked you into joining.
It wasn’t a good day for you. You were running late that morning, and you forgot you had a history test that day. You were pretty sure you just bombed it, and to make it worse it was freezing outside. Your history class was in a portable outside but there was heat.
After you finished the test you got a text from Jay.
‘How are you?’
'I just finished my test. I’m going to the bathroom now.’
You replied to her before stuffing your phone into your back pocket and walked up to the teacher’s desk. You told him you needed to use the bathroom. He typed your name and the date and time into the holo-pass. He handed it to you and you nodded before slipping it into your pocket. It was a small card, see through except for the glowing blue letters.
You silently cursed to yourself for forgetting your jacket.
“Just get in and you’ll be warm, (y/n),” you whispered to yourself as you rubbed up and down your arms. You could faintly see your breath in the air as you spoke.
You got into the building and headed for the girl’s restroom. Before you could, though, you were yanked into a supply closet by a mystery person. They dragged you in and shut the door before pressing the light pad which lit up the room.
It was Jay.
“Jade Yvonne Dampf, I have to go to the bathroom and don’t have time for y-”
You were paused by her shoving something paper into your hands. You looked down at the object in your hands and unfolded it. It was an Overwatch recruitment poster that the school kept in the main foyer. You looked at her shocked. Jay just smiled at you.
“This is the recruitment poster. I thought you were going to wait until you gradu-”
“(n/n), I’m not letting you wait two years for me to graduate. I don’t care if we were supposed to do it together. This is your biggest dream. Live it,” she pulled you into a hug. “Your parents would be proud.”
“Thanks Jay,” you replied. Something finally clicked and you pulled away from her. “Wait, did you steal the poster from the school?”
She blushed a bit. “It’s not stealing if you don’t get caught.”
“You need to stop listening to Hailey and Brenna. They’re bad influences on you,” you chuckled.
You remember that well, especially because you had enlisted the next day.
“(l/n)?”
Ana’s voice caught you by surprise and you fell off your bunk. Groaning, you got back onto the bed and heard Ana laughing.
“S'not funny.” you pouted.
After her giggles faded, Ana gestured for you to come towards her. “I’m here to escort you to the infirmary for your mandatory physical.”
You walked over to her confused. “Physical? I already had one done after I enlisted.”
“Yes, but not by Overwatch.”
She took you to Doctor Ziegler, who you heard was not much older than yourself. You didn’t mind another physical. It was that instead of getting to learn your new home, you had to be in the infirmary. You were eager to meet everyone and learn the Watchpoint like the back of your hand.
You voiced this when you and Doctor Ziegler were alone- hoping she didn’t take it to heart.
She didn’t.
Laughing, she smiled at you. Her thick Swiss accent was prominent in every word she pronounced.
“I would be happy to accompany you to dinner. As well as give you a tour of the Watchpoint,” she said, typing a few things down into your file.
“Thank you,” you replied happily. “I’d enjoy that.”
After the physical, Angela did as promised. She accompanied you to dinner. She showed you the entire mess hall, which was bigger than you expected. But what did you expect? It had to fit hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people.
There was a buffet, of sorts. It was served by the cafeteria workers, and they all seemed rather grumpy when you and Angela walked up to them. Angela greeted each of them happily, calling them by their first name and making a bit of small talk. She explained to them that you were a new recruit and she was showing you the Watchpoint.
While she was talking, you noticed that they were serving (f/f). During a pause, you asked for it and one of the servers gave it to you. You thanked them before following Angela to get some side dishes.
As you stood there, trying to figure out what to get a man, no older than yourself, walked by. He had tan skin and shaggy brown hair. He dressed like a cowboy, hat and all, much to your surprise.
He tipped his hat you and Angela. “Ange,” he looked at you and winked. “Darlin’.” He smirked and walked over to a table where there were other men sitting.
“Jesse,” Angela said, almost distastefully. You looked back at the man and then to Angela.
“Jesse? As in Jesse McCree?” you asked.
She let out a small chuckle. “It’s only your first day and you already know who he is.”
She told you about his reputation in Blackwatch as the two of you walked over to a table where a few nurses and doctors were sitting. The two of you sat at the far end of the table, away from the medical professionals.
You noticed the agents in dark clothing didn’t sit with the other Overwatch agents and you brought this up to Angela.
“Oh, Blackwatch members don’t like to sit with Overwatch agents. I don’t know; it probably has something to do with familiar faces. That, and maybe the fact some of the Blackwatch members were transferred there from Overwatch.” She told you this as she took a bite of her salad.
You nibbled some of your meal before replying. “Did Commander Morrison send them there? Or was it voluntary?”
“Er…” she bit her tongue anxiously. “Maybe that is better left unsaid.” She took another bite of her salad. “But anyway… I think you’ll like it here. Just wait until you get your first mission!”
You listened to Angela talk about how many new recruits get injured on their first mission and how to avoid injury. You noticed Ana sitting with Commander Morrison and three other men. And… a little girl?
“Hey, uh, Angela. Who or those people sitting with Captain Amari?”
She looked over at the table that you were pointing to. “Oh, the man in the beanie next to Jack is Gabriel Reyes. He’s the head of Blackwatch.” You mentally made a note of that. “The biggest one is Reinhardt. He’s a crusader. And don’t let his size intimidate you; he’s a big sweetheart, really. And the last one is Torbjörn. He was my mentor when I first joined.”
You nodded. “Okay, but who’s the little girl?”
She chuckled. “Oh, that’s Fareeha, Ana’s daughter. She’s only a few years younger than you, actually. You two might get along.”
That night, it was hard for you to get to sleep. You finally got to meet your bunk mates, who were actually really nice women. But one in particular, Frankie, talked in her sleep and at the moment it was very annoying.
A million thoughts raced through your mind at the moment. You were nervous about your first official day tomorrow. But you also couldn’t get Jesse McCree out of your mind. He was really cute. Although his reputation was that he was a flirt, and one of your bunk mates even told you how he got involved with Blackwatch.
Either way, as you stared up at the poster beside your bed, you couldn’t help but wonder what was soon to be in store for you.
This chapter is dedicated to @animal-luver2102 @syntheticninjas and @infamousbeans who voted for this. And my friend @ukcatsgirl10 who was my beta reader and loved it and couldn’t wait to read more.
