Katsu Cravings Fixed at Yabu!
I rarely encounter expensive food that tastes so good, especially when I travel. Most of the time the food comes out overpriced for how it tastes. Even worst is if it doesn't taste good at all. So everytime I plan to dine in a certain restaurant and find out that the place offers expensive food, I research first. I will admit. Yes, dining in Yabu is quite expensive but on the next few sections, you'll find out that it's worth more than the money we paid.

Taste Authentic Chinese Chicken at Sincerity Restaurant!
If you're planning for a food trip in the oldest Chinatown in the world(Binondo), surely Sincerity Restaurant will be included to your list. Sincerity Restaurant is known to serve the best fried chicken in Binondo. So when we went there during lunch time, it is no wonder that the place is jam packed with hungry customers.
How To Get There
From Cubao, ride an LRT train to Recto Station. Ride a jeep with Divisoria on its destination plate. We got off at Abad Santos then we rode an e-trike off to Chinatown. Then we alighted at Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz. From there, walk towards Ongpin Street. When you see Cafe Mezzanine, turn right. Just continue walking til you find Sincerity Restaurant. It is located at the right side near some office products shops.

Affordable Wings at Frankie’s!
Hey guys! It's been more than a month since my last post?! Yikes! Summer's been great for me despite getting 3 shades darker. I apologize for the lack of posts - especially to my boyfriend who reminded me that I haven't posted anything for a while. :P I have a lot in my backlog right now so to remove one from the list, here's what we tried for our #12Months12CuisinesChallenge for the month of April - Frankie's New York Buffalo Wings!

Gringo's Unique Take on Chicken
Ever since Gringo opened in SM North, Chad and I already planned on checking the place out knowing they have one of the best tasting chicken in town. Many times we planned. And most of those were failed attempts. But I guess the heavens heard our tummies' prayers that they opened a new branch in UP Town Center! Gringo Chicken, Ribs and Friends is located on the Ground Floor of UTC side by side with Genki Sushi and close to the H&M Mall Entrance just so you won't have a hard time finding it because we did LOL.

Enjoy Big Servings at Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina!
While we were enjoying our Samgyeopsal last January, we came across this idea of what we wanted to do the whole year round. I welcome you guys to a new Blog Series: the 12 months, 12 cuisines challenge! Every month, we'll be trying one different cuisine. That way, we will be able to explore all possible food choices Metro Manila has to offer. Or if possible, just around Marikina(my hometown) and Quezon City(his).
For the month of February, and to celebrate our 3rd Valentine's Day together, Chad and I headed to UP Town Center to have a piece of Mexican taste. Well basically it's a Fil-Mex Restaurant. This is not our first time in UTC. Before, I always see Silantro with big groups of people waiting outside. In my mind, I was curious what could be making the commotion, until my sister told me that they offer both high quality and quantity of food at a very affordable price. Who wouldn't want that? With those 3 in a restaurant, even I would be willing to wait outside to try it out.

On Board the Seoul Train!
If there's something that I'm quite hesitant to try despite being a self-proclaimed food lover, it is to eat a completely different cuisine. For the record, I never tried Korean before thinking that their taste buds have a higher level of tolerance when it comes to all things spicy. But when I saw this unique place of what it seems to me like a "Train to Busan"-inspired restaurant in Facebook, I began to think twice. Then I saw that it is a Korean BARBECUE restaurant. That keyword really spoke a lot to me. And I knew I had to drag Chad into eating Samgyeopsal which he ecstatically accepted. What happens next? We got a reservation for two after a few days!
Brace yourselves K-pop, Korean Drama fans and food lovers alike! The coolest and newest Korean Barbecue place has finally arrived! Aaaand just a fair warning, this is a photo heavy post. Aaaaand you might just get your samgyeopsal cravings working. *wink* *wink*

Guevarra's: A Highly Recommended Filipino Buffet Restaurant
Ever heard of an ancestral home turned restaurant? If not, then let me introduce to one in San Juan City. And it's not just an ordinary restaurant. It is a Buffet Restaurant named after one of the famous chefs in the Philippines, Chef Laudico Guevarra. With his name posted on the entrance of this restaurant, I'm sure Chad and I would be up for a yummy gastronomic experience. We celebrated our 3rd anniversary here(It's Chad's idea and surprise). What would be a better #12Months12Cuisines challenge than featuring a cuisine closest to our hearts? Nothing beats Filipino cuisine when it comes to tasting a bit of home.

It’s Always a Good Morning at Ally’s
Before I went backpacking for our trip to the amazing island of Palawan *insert SepAnx here*, Chad and I went back to our Maginhawa Bucketlist to cross out one from the list. I’m a bit confused to coin this as a Maginhawa Adventure because it’s located at Malingap street which is just close to Maginhawa. But anyways, Maginhawa is another term for food now and anywhere close to it is food soooo.. let’s do some math, Maginhawa = food but Malingap also has food so Maginhawa = Malingap hahahaha. Maybe I’m really just missing math. So yeah, before I take you to the beaches, let’s dive first for food!
The first thing that I think is reeeeeeeeally important for me to tell you when you want to go to this place, is that their address is wrong when you google it! We almost got lost finding this haven huhu. Google says it’s number 50 Malingap street. But when we arrived there, it’s a residential place *frowns*. Good thing the residents there were kind enough to point us to the place. I think they moved because I saw a different place from a review that I read. That’s their current address below.
The place is located on a building. Building with other food finds. *hungry* And I think those other cafes their are also good. We almost got redirected to other cafes haha but no, we stuck to the plan.
The moment you arrive there, their crew will greet you a “Good Morning” at any time of the day. But I guess their place is not illuminated enough. Especially when it’s gloomy. But what I really liked are their typographic decorations. Oh so sweet colorful typographies hihi.
But what makes them really in my bucketlist? Is because they serve my favorite meal of the day - BREAKFAST. It’s an All-day breakfast cafe. I really love cooking breakfast, because frying is the only thing I know in cooking haha. And I love fried rice and scrambled eggs and bacon. <3
The second thing I wanna tell you which is what Chad and I learned the hard way, is to always ask how big are their servings. I was so guilty that day because I ordered too much. Then when the food came out, I couldn’t even finish half of it. :(
So here’s what we ordered just for you guys to see and plan.
When JM is Starving|P350. This is a meal for two if you’re not so hungry. And I wished we should have just ordered this alone. It comes with unli rice and bottomless iced tea. I really loved the bacon strips and the hungarian sausage. The bacon strips are crispy. I just thought that their scrambled eggs are not well-seasoned but I liked its fluffy texture. The waffle tastes just like a normal waffle for me.
Toffee Banana Pancake|P250. This is what I ordered which I thought was just as much as Pancake House’s golden pancakes which are flat and small(I hate Pancake House’s pancakes). It’s their best seller and no doubt, it is a hundred times better than Pancake House’s pancakes. It seems one piece on top view but hooooold it....
Tadaaaaaa! It’s huge! And it really tastes good! I just wished I was hungry enough to finish this. It’s really satisfying and very dense for my tummy to carry. I think you could share this for two people already.
Well, we really had a very heavy breakfast today! And the next time, We’ll be having those bacon strips and pancakes again but with a smaller serving(without those waffles and unli rice). See you again soon for the next food diving post! :D

No buts, have a burger at 8cuts!
BURGERS - One of the amazing human inventions that I’ll always be thankful for. It may be comfort food but yeah, it’s COMFORT. Yes, it contains fat. But one can never deny that fat tastes GOOD. It was never bad anyway, just don’t eat it everyday. And one of those that offer really tasty burgers at a different level is 8cuts.
Last September 19, after watching Itchyworms live in Trinoma, I deleted the word DIET on my vocabulary and we tried 8Cuts Burger Blends. I’m not really good at telling directions so you just might want to ask the Concierge instead. Damn those people are really good with directions. Read more if you wanna find out the different kinds of delicious meat they can offer. I bet you’re hungry. ;)
The store’s not that big, but it’s not crowded either. You’ll really enjoy your quality time with your lovely burger. Yum yum!
You can choose either to order their already made burgers or you could be adventurous and create your own! As for us first timers, we decided to first try their tributes. Next time we’ll try building our own hihi.
Just a tip when you’re choosing on the tributes, decide first what kind of burger blend(those in white font color) you’re craving for.
For Chad, he ordered Bleu(Quarter Pound).
I was not able to taste his burger but by the looks of it, it sure looks yummy! When I was done taking photos, he’s already more than halfway done. So I must say, my man really enjoyed it hihi.
And as for me, I ordered Four Cheese 2.0(Quarter Pound) <3
At first, I was having second thoughts if I’ll order this baby ‘cause I was thinking I might get overwhelmed with the cheese. But to my surprise, I didn’t! The taste was perfectly BLENDED. And the burger patty was so moist and chewy. I really love that their patties don’t look unhealthy hihi. It’s the right amount of carbs for me. Plus it’s not oozing with oil.
Oh my burger, will you just look at that amazing cross section.
They also offer unlimited condiments but I’m guessing you won’t be needing more of it.
I might say, the burger’s a little bit expensive but as they say, IT’S WORTH IT. <3
Let’s go back here boyfieee!

Banapple Danapple!
Banapple has been making its rounds on the web and in between friends lately. I remember one of my barkadas recommending this place. Even Chad found this place on the list of restos under the 500 budget. So we went to their Gateway branch which is a very cute place to stay for food. How I wish they could make their chairs softer. If you might be wondering where I got the “Danapple” thing on the title, well it’s from one of my favorite Wong Fu Series hihi. Do watch their short movies if you have time.
We tried this cutesy place last August 15 before we went to the Great Warehouse Sale of National Book Store and I’m glad we did. The Sale was very tiring and stressful. Good thing we ate before going there plus we had heavy meals.
We had these three dishes for our lunch.
This baby here is Hickory Smoked Barbecued Country Ribs. I love how it tastes. It’s a combination of sweet and salty but both are in the same level. The side corn and carrots are also seasoned well. It’s good for one person only but if you’ll pair it with Lasagna Roll Ups, then it would be better to have someone with you. (I think I’m talking like a MasterChef judge right now. :)) )
This one here is my favorite! Lasagna Rollups! If you’re reading some of our food adventures right now, you may have noticed our full love relationship with pasta. And this one really rocks! It’s a different presentation of a tradition lasagna. It’s really heavy for the tummy. Just one piece and you could already be full so better share it with someone.
One thing that I’m really amazed with is that when you try to slice it, it does not fall apart. It’s intact. It really tastes great! I most certainly recommend this one. Hands down to Banapple for creating this beatiful pasta. <3
Aaaand for dessert, of course we tried their famous Banoffee pie. To be honest, I find the top icing super sweet, I liked the bananas and the crust but not the icing. But it’s worth the try.
If you’re curious if we hit the 500 mark, well yes we did! Well we got 45 pesos over it but the meals we had are worth it. Plus, the place is cutesy so I guess this is one of our cheapest food trips yet. I’ll post the CHEAPEST one we had some other time hihi. Hope you’ll try their Lasagna! I bet my life you’ll love it!
