this is awesome and also so hard because i'm pretty terrible at keeping track of what's announced. so this is mostly speculative.

5. The Huntress and Holder of Hands has been threatening a record since spring of this year. They released singles which they SAID were part of a record but then have not announced a release date for the um. Record. So this is maybe blind optimism but I do hope it ends up happening in 2025

4. Pinkshift. No name or date yet but they're recording and I'd be shocked if it wasn't a 2025. This would be higher except I've now seen several of the songs live and they're straight up not very good. Many such cases unfortunately

3. Ekko Astral. Who among us is not clamoring for the release of the Capital Beltway concept album. I'm worried that it can't possibly live up to Pink Balloons and I'm worried about how the loss of Guinevere Tully and that other guy will affect its sound but I am still SO excited for it I really love those guys

2. JADE. Love all three singles love her crazy BBC live lounge cover performance love the energy she's bringing to the solo career she's made me genuinely excited about pop music again in a way I haven't been since...man, maybe since Little Mix's Glory Days came out? I <3 pop music I <3 Little Mix and it's really showing that she was the creative direction behind most of my most beloved aspects of Little Mix. POP GIRLIES FOREVER!

1. It's clipping. bitch. Last record was in 2020 and we have never been more back. "Run It" is a tremendous lead single they've never ever missed this is my called shot record of the year 2025. clipping. forever.

had the chance to have a meet-and-greet with Stars yesterday and gave them a copy of a drawing I made for the occasion! one of the copies was for me and they all signed it!!! 🌟🌟🌟

the fact that amy freaking millan was thrilled with it and torq was so impressed with it as well made the pain of having to finish this drawing in like two days and a half soooo worth it!!! life is good sometimes!! :)

My main reason for going to the Just Like Heaven fest was to see Metric, Broken Social Scene was just a plus. Never ever ever ever thought it would be like, the highlight of the festival for me. Seeing Amy fucking Millan make an appearance to sing 7/4 shoreline (AKA one of my ultimate faves from BSS) just made me go into fangirl mode soooooo hard. Holy fucking shit, what an incredible moment that I will never forget. And then seeing her and Emily Haines sing Anthems for a 17-year Old Girl together…………….I wanted to fucking faint. On top of getting to be at the festival with a lifelong friend, all the traveling BS that I had to go through to make it to this festival was so so so so worth it. I love music so damn much 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️

This meant so, so much to me. Amy Millan is an actual angel.

...and it was a weirdly emotionally complicated concert.

We got there 15 minutes before the doors opened and there was a barely a line! So I secured a spot at the rail and this woman came up behind me and asked if I could move so she could take a picture of the stage. She said "I promise I won't take your spot" and I laughed and said "of course!"

She took the photo and I said "I can probably budge over and you can stand beside me - there's room." And I did! And we were standing together! Then her partner showed up and was standing behind her, and she just became this huge, belligerent asshole. She ended up peeling off the stickers from the CupShare program (this thing to reduce plastic cups in place of reusable ones) and stuck them on the railing (?). Every other word out of her mouth became "fuck" (which is whatever, but a pretty sharp turn lmao).

I offered the girl behind me my spot. I made eye contact with the girl and the asshole-person-beside-me's boyfriend.

I said to her LOUDLY "I am leaving after Ageless Beauty - you can step up when I leave." And she was so HAPPY!!! Her eyes were sparkly!!!

But when I went to leave, the woman (who was only at the rail because I let her be) basically shoved her boyfriend in front and he was like "Oh look! A free spot!!" while the girl watched. He was way taller than her, too.

This woman and man were my parents' age. How fucking embarrassing. I hope karma fucks them both over. What is WRONG with white people. I said very loudly "I'm so sorry - what an asshole" and she was like "...You tried. Thank you so much."

Also, at the very beginning of Your Ex Lover Is Dead, a girl two people down from me fainted (not because she was so excited) and I got shaky because I'm apparently still very scarred from that fatal overdose I responded to. I was getting ready to push people out of the way, but she got up and was hauled off. She was okay.

ALL THIS SAID, other than people being huge assholes and my heart being broken for that girl and maaaaaybe a SLIGHT PTSD response, it was amazing because Stars puts on a really good show.

And they're coming back in April. So it can be made up for. :)
