The core of the Briar legacy is the love shared between each other, but most importantly the love shared between siblings. When times get tough, sometimes that’s all you need.
prev / next
Jolene: A girl! With the biggest blue eyes I’ve ever seen!
Silas: [whispers] Shhh, baby!
Jolene: You two supposed to be in bed! Well, not with all that hollerin’, right? Come meet your sister.
Honey: This is Willow. She’s your little sister. Isn’t she to tiny? She has the tiniest little nose and toes. She’s going to need her big brothers to keep her safe, at least until she’s big and strong like you two.
Amina: That’s right. Then one day, she’ll look after you too.
Honey: Mhm, that’s what it means to be a Briar.
Honey [vo]: It means being there for each other when you have bad days.
Lyric: I hope it’s ok I came over without calling first. I just had this feeling you needed me-
Amina [vo]: Never letting distance keep you apart.
Adie: Mommy, why are you crying?
Honey [vo]: It means being there to celebrate life together.
Amir: Your first shot? Are you kidding me?! That’s what I’m talking about, Ellie!
Willow: Quit suckin’ in your gut! If I make it too tight, a button will pop off and catch someone in the eye!
Ezra: [laughs]
Silas: Guess it’s too late to start that Keto diet, huh?
Honey: Being a Briar means we take care of the people we love most. Always remember that.

Curse Workers by Holly Black (2010-2012)
Cassel is cursed. Cursed by the memory of the fourteen year old girl he murdered. Life at school is a constant trial. Life at home even worse. No-one at home is ever going to forget that Cassel is a killer. No-one at home is ever going to forget that he isn't a magic worker.
Cassel's family are one of the big five crime families in America. Ever since magic was prohibited in 1929 magic workers have been driven underground and into crime. And while people still need their touch, their curses, their magical killings, their transformations, times have been hard. His granddad has been driven to drink, his mother is in prison and his brothers detest him as the only one of their family who can't do magic.
But there is a secret at the centre of Cassel's family and he's about to inherit it. It's terrfying and that's the truth.
The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison (2014)
The youngest, half-goblin son of the Emperor has lived his entire life in exile, distant from the Imperial Court and the deadly intrigue that suffuses it. But when his father and three sons in line for the throne are killed in an "accident," he has no choice but to take his place as the only surviving rightful heir.
Entirely unschooled in the art of court politics, he has no friends, no advisors, and the sure knowledge that whoever assassinated his father and brothers could make an attempt on his life at any moment.
Surrounded by sycophants eager to curry favor with the naïve new emperor, and overwhelmed by the burdens of his new life, he can trust nobody. Amid the swirl of plots to depose him, offers of arranged marriages, and the specter of the unknown conspirators who lurk in the shadows, he must quickly adjust to life as the Goblin Emperor. All the while, he is alone, and trying to find even a single friend... and hoping for the possibility of romance, yet also vigilant against the unseen enemies that threaten him, lest he lose his throne – or his life.
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor (2004-2009)
When Alyss Heart, newly orphaned heir to the Wonderland throne, flees through the Pool of Tears to escape her murderous Aunt Redd, she finds herself lost and alone in Victorian London. Befriended by an aspiring author named Lewis Carrol, Alyss tells the violent, heartbreaking story of her young life. Alyss trusts this author to tell the truth so that someone, somewhere will find her and bring her home. But he gets the story all wrong. He even spells her name incorrectly!
Fortunately, Royal Bodyguard Hatter Madigan knows all too well the awful truth of Alyss' story - and he's searching every corner of our world to find the lost princess and return her to Wonderland, to battle Redd for her rightful place as the Queen of Hearts.
East by Edith Pattou (2003-2018)
Rose has always felt out of place in her family, a wanderer in a bunch of homebodies. So when an enormous white bear mysteriously shows up and asks her to come away with him — in exchange for health and prosperity for her ailing family — she readily agrees. The bear takes Rose to a distant castle, where each night she is confronted with a mystery. In solving that mystery, she loses her heart, discovers her purpose, and realizes her travels have only just begun.
Circle of Magic by Tamora Pierce (1997-1999)
With her gift of weaving silk thread and creating light, Sandry is brought to the Winding Circle community. There she meets Briar, a former thief who has a way with plants; Daja, an outcast gifted at metalcraft; and Tris, whose connection with the weather unsettles everyone, including herself. At Winding Circle, the four misfits are taught how to use their magic - and to trust one another. But then disaster strikes their new home. Can Sandry weave together four kinds of magical power and save herself, her friends, and the one place where they've ever been accepted?
The Chronicles of Alice by Christina Henry (2015-2020)
In a warren of crumbling buildings and desperate people called the Old City, there stands a hospital with cinderblock walls which echo the screams of the poor souls inside.
In the hospital, there is a woman. Her hair, once blond, hangs in tangles down her back. She doesn't remember why she's in such a terrible place. Just a tea party long ago, and long ears, and blood...
Then, one night, a fire at the hospital gives the woman a chance to escape, tumbling out of the hole that imprisoned her, leaving her free to uncover the truth about what happened to her all those years ago.
Only something else has escaped with her. Something dark. Something powerful. And to find the truth, she will have to track this beast to the very heart of the Old City, where the rabbit waits for his Alice.
Sunshine by Robin McKinley (2003)
"Sunshine" is what everyone calls her. She works long hours in her family's coffeehouse, making her famous "Cinnamon Rolls as Big as Your Head," Bitter Chocolate Death, Caramel Cataclysm, and other sugar-shock specials that keep the customers coming. She's happy in her bakery--which her stepfather built specially for her--but sometimes she feels that she should have life outside the coffeehouse. One evening she drives out to the lake to get away from her family, to be alone. There hasn't been any trouble at the lake for years. But there is trouble that night for Sunshine. She is abducted by a gang of vampires who shackle her to the wall of an abandoned mansion, within easy reach of a figure stirring in the moonlight. Sunshine knows that he is a vampire and that she is to be his dinner. Yet when dawn breaks he has not attempted to harm her.And now he needs her help to survive the day...
Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty (2023-present)
A pirate of infamy and one of the most storied and scandalous captains to sail the seven seas.
Amina al-Sirafi has survived backstabbing rogues, vengeful merchant princes, several husbands, and one actual demon to retire peacefully with her family to a life of piety, motherhood, and absolutely nothing that hints of the supernatural.
But when she’s offered a job no bandit could refuse, she jumps at the chance for one final adventure with her old crew that will make her a legend and offers a fortune that will secure her and her family’s future forever.
Yet the deeper Amina dives the higher the stakes. For there’s always risk in wanting to become a legend, to seize one last chance at glory, to savour just a bit more power…and the price might be your very soul.
October Daye by Seanan McGuire (2009-present)
The world of Faerie never disappeared: it merely went into hiding, continuing to exist parallel to our own. Secrecy is the key to Faerie's survival—but no secret can be kept forever, and when the fae and mortal worlds collide, changelings are born. Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, these second-class children of Faerie spend their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations. Or, in the case of October "Toby" Daye, rejecting it completely. After getting burned by both sides of her heritage, Toby has denied the fae world, retreating into a "normal" life. Unfortunately for her, Faerie has other ideas.
The murder of Countess Evening Winterrose, one of the secret regents of the San Francisco Bay Area, pulls Toby back into the fae world. Unable to resist Evening's dying curse, which binds her to investigate, Toby is forced to resume her old position as knight errant to the Duke of Shadowed Hills and begin renewing old alliances that may prove her only hope of solving the mystery...before the curse catches up with her.
The Near Witch by V. E. Schwab (2011)
The Near Witch is only an old story told to frighten children.
If the wind calls at night, you must not listen. The wind is lonely, and always looking for company.
And there are no strangers in the town of Near.
These are the truths that Lexi has heard all her life.
But when an actual stranger-a boy who seems to fade like smoke-appears outside her home on the moor at night, she knows that at least one of these sayings is no longer true.
The next night, the children of Near start disappearing from their beds, and the mysterious boy falls under suspicion. Still, he insists on helping Lexi search for them. Something tells her she can trust him.
As the hunt for the children intensifies, so does Lexi's need to know-about the witch that just might be more than a bedtime story, about the wind that seems to speak through the walls at night, and about the history of this nameless boy.

May reading overview! +1 e-book not pictured (Body After Body by Briar Ripley Page). Lots of black and gold covers. I'll try to keep my reviews brief because there's a lot again.
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi: 4.5/5. Just a fun read with a main character whom I immediately loved as she romped around the Indian Ocean.
The Salt Grows Heavy: 4/5. A beautiful and gruesome little book that hooked my attention immediately and dragged me along for the bloody ride. Some people might not like the prose, but I loved it.
The Iliac Crest: 4/5. This book is layers upon layers of gothic, surreal horror about gender, time, language, and understanding. 4 stars because I want to read it again some day and be able to get more out of it and love it even more.
Year of the Reaper: 2.5/5. Not bad, I just need to be choosier about what YA I pick up. I wanted more exploration of the themes. I probably would have loved it when I was in middle school though.
Body After Body (e-book): 5/5. An incredibly gory body horror story where almost all POV characters are trans. It had the perfect balance of character, plot, and pace as the story melts together into one beautiful symphony. Highly recommend giving it a try if you like horror.
A Memory Called Empire: 4.5/5. What a brilliant sci-fi novel. Beautiful writing, fascinating worldbuilding, intricate and fast-paced plot, and deep characters all blended together seamlessly. I just wanted to see some of those last threads tied up.
Sea of Rust: 3/5. This was fine. Some good points, some wack ones. I didn't jive with the writing or the characterization really.

my Fire Emblem OCs I’ve currently got drawn!!
these are all like 3-4 years old by now... I could probably do better wit Briar and Shizuka, but all things considered I think most of them look okay!
I even gave them titles and quotes and everything hahahahaaaa
so for reference:
Anneliese is paired with Lucius
Doll is paired with Raven
Briar is paired with Xander
Shizuka is paired with Forrest
I’ve got several other ladies I’ve yet to draw (Amina who’s paired with Libra and Isolde who’s paired with Limstella, an unnamed lady for Siegbert, among others who’ve yet to be fully concepted lol) but they’re all a-coming!
I WAS gonna wait till I did them all to post them, but first off it’s been a while since the FE brainrot fully hit me (tho it has now) AND anyway... I’m always making more, sooooo that’s no excuse! XD
that saaaaid... I’ll probably redo Briar and Shizuka’s designs at some point, my girls deserve better <3
*slaps on a bumper sticker that says “Ask Me About My Fire Emblem OCs”*

Happy Pride to the beautiful founders of my Briar Legacy, Amina and Honey Briar. Without them, well, there would be no story to tell. 💖

wjats the best way to read your legacy chronologically?
Hellooo ✨ so I know it’s a little all over the place, but bare with me 🙏🏾🥺
My legacy started on tiktok and about 90% of it is there before I transitioned to tumblr. (Wish I stared on tumblr initially but you live and learn )
First, I’d start with this video, it’s the intro to my Briar Legacy and how my founders, Amina and Honey began their family.
After that, I would scroll down my page until you get to this video and just work your way up, as it has all the love and chaos of each Gen up until the birth of my Gen 6 heir, Adie Briar. (Sorry for lack of a playlist, apparently you have to hit a certain number of followers to unlock that feature. Another reason I don’t care for tiktok for storytelling 🥴)
Tumblr media
After you’ve caught up to the last video, you can jump right into Missing Moments, which takes place about a year and a half before the beginning of Children of the Forest (which is my fantasy story surrounding my Gen 6 heir, Adie Briar who was born a witch)
Sidebar: my goal is just put all those videos on tumblr and arrange them easier access, just in case something ever happens to TikTok , it’s on my ever growing to-do list 😭😮‍💨

I think a funny thing about the Briar legacy is that Ezra would have never been born had Amina not felt so awful that Honey was having a hard time conceiving. She wanted children too, she just had no desire to carry. Next thing you know, SURPRISE, Honey actually did get pregnant right after Amina finds out that she’s pregnant so they’re just expecting at the same time 😭😭💜
I think if Honey didn’t struggle with fertility, she would have absolutely filled their farm with a couple more Briar babies but I think their three kids fit them so well 😌

hey tahjikins, i've been following ur page ever since tiktok and have taken great inspo from your work and even implemented it into my own sims game (& i won't stop telling my gf about it). however, i had a question and it may be tricky to understand.
so my sim & her "roommate 👀" are roughly the same age as Honey and Amina Briar from when you first started your Briar Legacy (whatever the age of bearing for motherhood & moving into a cottage is) BUT they are both spellcasters.
THIS IS THE WORST WAY TO WORD IT
But, if you had to convert Honey & Aminas ages into a spellcasters age, how long would u think they would have been on planet roughly?
(dumbest question award goes to me 🏆)
thanks for your help & don't ever stop telling your story girlie 🧚🏾🤍🌺
lmaooo hello 'anon' I must say, I appreciate you and everyone who has followed the Briars since day one a great deal!! and all the fussing over and sobbing we've done over this family right alongside with me means alot 🥹🥹🥹 you all motivate me more than you know!! <3
I think about Honey and Amina like sooo muchhhhhhhh and they actually have their own private save- no other Briars, just them, that I made for photos mostly but I like to think that's they're own happily ever after 🥹 I need to visit my pixel grandmas more often.
As for the spellcaster question, spellcasters aren't immortal in my world but they age pretty slow and live very long. I'm thinking if they became spellcasters at the start of the legacy, they wouldn't look any older than like...Sonny at this point in the story and would have lived to like 300 years old with good health😭 which now that I think about it, I would love to have seen it omgggg.
Adie would have loved Amina and Honey.

i’m lost bae who we talking about here https://www.tumblr.com/fallstaticexit/765067437455654912/ok-so-on-todays-episode-of-is-tahj-planning-yet
From my Briar Legacy! If you’re new to my page, I did storytelling on TikTok way back when and it started with my two founders Amina and Honey who raised their 3 children on a farm in Henford. Now I’m on Gen 6 and Adie Briar, their great great granddaughter, is the heir who’s a little witch and is featured in my story COTF ☺️

Bonjour 👋🏽
It’s that time where I get all up in your business about your sims. Ok, here goes 😌
What is a fond memory you have whilst playing The Sims?
This can be in-game, an event that happened in game but impacted you personally, someone else gameplay etc. If you have screenshots photos feel free to add them in.
Hi ✨ I’d have to say creating my founders of my Briar legacy, Amina and Honey. I wanted to get into generational gameplay sooo bad but I could never make it past the second generation maybe the third but that’s it. I’ve made so many families but I just couldn’t get attached and I’d abandon the save. Then I made two cottage core moms who loved each other and their babies on their little farm and because of them is how I created my current stories ✨ they really are the blueprint.

The way Myra got me in the divorce but now I feel sorry for her. Is she even invited to the gatherings or does she just not want to come? also what does her life even look like now, she got her "own" family?
Hi there! :) So Myrah was always around even after the divorce when Mel, Lyric and Sonny were kids but when they became adults she was around the Briars a little less. Mostly just visiting for holidays or the birth of a grandchild. She was actually very close with Amina too since she had a strained relationship with her own mother growing up. She does have her own life too. She’s cycled through a couple here and there boyfriends. She's currently dating now, and her kids may or may not be frustrated with her choice in men at the moment lol ...
Myrah isn’t a villain , she can be difficult because she’s firm in her wants. She was firm in her wants when she was married to Ezra, firm about taking the kids with her when she left Henford and even now in her older age, when it comes to interacting with her adult children. At her worse she’s more annoying to some than others , mostly to Lyric lol but they love their mom, especially mama’s boy Sonny 😭

The way you guys are so kind 🥹✨ thank you sm for all the love for Fallen Angel I’ve received. I’ve been a wreck the last hour lol. The Epilogue is scheduled to drop tonight and then I’ll be taking a hiatus, returning right after the new year with some more witchy, magical content ❤️
As for WDWGFH, this will be my more slower paced casual gameplay so if that’s up your alley, I’ll update here and there when I get into the save.
I do want to inform those who followed the Briar legacy on tiktok, I don’t really foresee myself continuing with the reunion. I thought about it soo hard and I think I got burnt out with the execution of it 😖 Instead, I’ll be posting my farewell for my lovely founders Amina and Honey who started all this and deserve their goodbye as I let them go.
I’m even considering doing occasional life updates on the family members if time and creativity allows for it. What I got planned for the Gen 6 is a beast of its own so I’ll be pouring a lot into that tbh 🥹🫶🏽
I hope you all have a wonderful , safe and happy holiday and I’ll see you all in the epilogue tonight and after the new year 🍃
