Qwen2-Math: A new era for AI maths whizzes
.pp-multiple-authors-boxes-wrapper display:none; img width:100%;
Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen team has unveiled Qwen2-Math, a series of large language models specifically designed to tackle complex mathematical problems.
These new models – built upon the existing Qwen2 foundation – demonstrate remarkable proficiency in solving arithmetic and mathematical challenges, and outperform former industry leaders.
The Qwen team crafted Qwen2-Math using a vast and diverse Mathematics-specific Corpus. This corpus comprises a rich tapestry of high-quality resources, including web texts, books, code, exam questions, and synthetic data generated by Qwen2 itself.
Rigorous evaluation on both English and Chinese mathematical benchmarks – including GSM8K, Math, MMLU-STEM, CMATH, and GaoKao Math – revealed the exceptional capabilities of Qwen2-Math. Notably, the flagship model, Qwen2-Math-72B-Instruct, surpassed the performance of proprietary models such as GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 in various mathematical tasks.
“Qwen2-Math-Instruct achieves the best performance among models of the same size, with RM@8 outperforming Maj@8, particularly in the 1.5B and 7B models,” the Qwen team noted.
This superior performance is attributed to the effective implementation of a math-specific reward model during the development process.
Further showcasing its prowess, Qwen2-Math demonstrated impressive results in challenging mathematical competitions like the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) 2024 and the American Mathematics Contest (AMC) 2023.
To ensure the model’s integrity and prevent contamination, the Qwen team implemented robust decontamination methods during both the pre-training and post-training phases. This rigorous approach involved removing duplicate samples and identifying overlaps with test sets to maintain the model’s accuracy and reliability.
Looking ahead, the Qwen team plans to expand Qwen2-Math’s capabilities beyond English, with bilingual and multilingual models in the pipeline. This commitment to inclusivity aims to make advanced mathematical problem-solving accessible to a global audience.
“We will continue to enhance our models’ ability to solve complex and challenging mathematical problems,” affirmed the Qwen team.
You can find the Qwen2 models on Hugging Face here.

Hey Ohio/Michigan/Indiana doll collectors!
We have access to a banquet hall and we want to do a doll show/expo
It would be around February or March in southern Michigan
The plans are very fluid right now. Were open to ideas, and input. If you have any, please me know! Here are the basic ideas
This would be an event for American Girl Doll and other 18 inch doll brands. With the goal of bringing collectors together.
We'll have an option to rent a table. Though you wouldn't have to buy a table to attend. If you do, you can sell, display, or trade items. It would be about ten dollars for a table. You can sell anything doll related. Handmade crafts, dolls, furniture, clothes. Anything you want to sell! This would be a good place to sell unshipable items too.
There would a snack table, and at least a portion of the event would be collector only. So you get up away from your table, talk to other collectors, or buy items.
We could also open it up to the public, and allow people to walk through. This would be for half of the event.
Depending on reception, it would either be a collector only event, or a hybrid event. Half for collectors, and a half for the public.
Nothing is concrete right now, again if you have any input please let me know! If this generates enough reception we will make a google form. Along with posting something on other platforms. So we can get a general idea of the number of people, and who would buy tables.
Hopefully this makes sense, thank you for reading!

Points awarded is determined by the number of other entries the winning dog defeats. A dog must win at least two majors (by winning at two different shows under two different judges where there are enough entries defeated to equal 3-5 points by the AKC point system. OTCh – Obedience Trial Champion To earn an obedience title, the dog must have a passing score of 50% of possible points or better, and an overall passing score at three different competitions under three different judges. CD – Companion Dog (First Level Obedience Competition, basic obedience exercises) CDX – Companion Dog Excellent (Intermediate Level Obedience Competition, more advanced obedience work) UD – Utility Dog (Advanced Level Obedience Competition, difficult obedience work, including hand signals) UDX – The highest obedience degree AKC presently awards TRACKING TD – Tracking Dog TDX – Tracking Dog Excellent VST – Variable Surface Tracking HERDING HIC – Herding Instinct Certificate HT – Herding Tested PT – PreTrial Tested HS – Herding Started HI – Herding Intermediate HX – Herding Excellent HCh – Herding Champion AGILITY NA – Novice Agility OA – Open Agility AX – Agility Excellent MX – Master Agility Excellent NAJ – Novice Agility Jumper OAJ – Open Agility Jumper EAJ – Excellent Agility Jumper AKC Unofficial Titles CGC – Canine Good Citizen ROM – Register of Merit – A dog or bitch must earn a number of points specified by the DPCA rules, and also meet the numbers of champion and major pointed progeny required by DPCA. The requirements for bitches are less than the requirements for the dogs because males have the opportunity to produce a far larger number of offspring. ROMC – Canadian ROM ROM/C – designates that the dog has earned an American and a Canadian ROM. TT – Temperament Tested TC – Temperament Certified AOE – Award of Excellence-A dog must meet qualifications in conformation, obedience, and also be OFA´d to earn this award. New competitions are being added and rules for competitions change, for the most up to date rules and regulations, check with the AKC and the DPCA. Miscellaneous American titles often seen on pedigrees and in advertising. BIS – Best in Show at an All-Breed Show in conformation. BISS – Best in Show Specialty (where only dogs of the same breed are competing in conformation) BOB – Best of Breed BOS – Best Opposite Sex BOW – Best of Winners (best between Winners Dog and Winners Bitch in breed conformation class competition) WD – Winners Dog – the winning dog overall of the regular classes of his sex. WB – Winners Bitch – the winning bitch overall of the regular classes of her sex. RWD/RWB – Runner up to the winners dog and bitch, if the winner becomes ineligible for the award then the runner up will receive the points awarded from that show. Special – A dog that is already a Champion that is competing for Best of Breed only. A Champion cannot compete in the classes where points are earned (because a Champion has already earned them!) RTD – Registered Therapy Dog TD I- Dog has passed Therapy Dog International´s testing HEALTH CERTIFICATIONS OVC – Ontario Veterinary College OVC Hip Certification – A dog may be preliminary screened at a younger age, but will not receive a certification unless the dog is at least 18 months old. It was told to me by a tech in the radiology department of OVC that they consider hips to either be bad, in which case they are rated on a scale from 0 – 4, with 4 being the worse, or they are “good” in which case the animal will receive a certification number (if 18 months or older. Therefore they do not follow the U.S. rating system which includes “FAIR”, Good, Excellent”. Their exact words were “the hips are either GOOD or they are NOT. OFA – Orthopedic Foundation for Animals OFA Hip Certifications – dogs within a specified range of normal hip x-rays are certified OFA-Excellent, Good, or Fair OFA – Elbow Certification – Certified by OFA for normal elbows on x-ray, only one grade recognized as normal. Check with OFA for proper procedures and positioning for hip and elbow x-rays. A dog may be preliminary screened at a younger age, but will not receive a certification unless the dog is at least 24 months old. OFA is also now doing certifications for other canine health concerns such as normal thyroid levels, check with OFA for accurate data and rules concerning these. CERF – Canine Eye Registry Foundation-dog is certified to have normal eyes. Re-certification must be done annually. vWD – Von Willebrands Disease free-meaning the dog has been tested and found free of vWD, a bleeding disorder, vWD free ratings also are often given with a percentage listed. For the best information on Von Willebrand´s Disease, contact Dr Jean Dodds, who is the leading research specialist in blood disorders. Dog show prize idea

Sneak Peek: What’s Trending in Beauty at Uplink Expo
June 12, 2024
Nancy Trent
Uplink Expo, organized by Beauty Independent, is the premier event where beauty, wellness, innovation, and visionary ideas converge. This dynamic expo is a gathering place for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, beauty wellness enthusiasts, and curious minds, all united by a shared passion for the future of health and wellness. Founders, CEOs, suppliers, retailers, and investors are driving the big beauty brands of tomorrow, collectively advancing the industry on June 20th in New York City. Here are six top trends to watch:
1) Native nurturing
Materials from indigenous lands are gaining traction in the skincare and beauty industry due to their natural efficacy and sustainable sourcing. Traditional ingredients, derived from plants, minerals, and other natural resources, have been used for centuries by indigenous communities for their healing and nurturing properties. Modern skincare brands are now tapping into this rich heritage, incorporating these materials into their products to offer consumers natural alternatives that are free from synthetic chemicals. This trend not only promotes healthier skin but also supports the preservation of indigenous knowledge and sustainable harvesting practices, making it a win-win for both beauty enthusiasts and the environment.
On the show floor: N8iV Beauty is pioneering the use of acorn oil in skincare, drawing on the ancestral Native American wisdom of its founder, Ruth-Ann Thorn. Harvested annually from tribal lands, acorn oil has been used for 23,000 years to restore, rejuvenate, and empower skin with a natural glow. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids, tocopherols, polyphenols, and sterols, which help improve skin health, reduce inflammation, soothe irritations, repair and regenerate cells, and deeply nourish and hydrate. Its trace amounts of tannic acid enhance the absorption of these beneficial properties, delivering better and more lasting results.
2. Fragrances without compromise
Clean and natural fragrances are on the rise as consumers become more conscious of what they apply to their skin and inhale daily. These perfumes, crafted only using the highest quality ingredients, favors transparency and simplicity. As a result, they offer a more wholesome and eco-friendly alternative, often featuring essential oils and botanicals that not only smell divine but also boast therapeutic benefits. This growing preference for clean and natural scents reflects a broader trend towards wellness and sustainability, where people seek products that align with their health values and environmental concerns.
On the show floor: Rosy & Earnest is setting new standards in the fragrance industry with clean, luxurious perfumes. Partnering with award-winning perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer, the brand has achieved the second-ever EWG verified certification in the Edu parfum category. The products are non-toxic and vegan, featuring transparent ingredient lists. This ensures consumers can enjoy unique and sophisticated scents without compromising on their health or the environment.
3. Embracing age
We’re in an era where society’s expectations of aging are being challenged by older women. New and innovative treatments are being created to rejuvenate and revitalize sensitive skin that has endured decades of wear and tear. This trend celebrates the beauty of aging and promotes products that enhance natural features rather than hiding them.
On the show floor: Prime Prometics is a family-run brand that focuses on makeup and skincare for mature women. Initially targeting chemo warriors, the brand has expanded to serve all women over 50, using bioactive nutrients in their cosmetics to heal and rejuvenate the skin. The products, developed with input from a database of 10,000 mature women, include mascaras, lipsticks, and brow tints that not only enhance beauty but also repair cellular damage caused by aging. Additionally, Prime Prometics supports breast cancer survivors, medical frontliners, and combats misinformation about older women.
4. Tanning goes plant-based
Plant-based tanning products are increasingly important for skin health and environmental sustainability. Unlike traditional tanning solutions that often contain harsh chemicals, plant-based alternatives utilize natural ingredients that nourish and protect the skin. These products minimize the risk of irritation and allergic reactions, making them suitable for sensitive skin. Additionally, they often contain antioxidants and vitamins that promote skin health, providing a safer, healthier way to achieve a sun-kissed glow. As consumers become more aware of the benefits of natural ingredients, plant-based tanning products are gaining popularity for their effectiveness and gentleness.
On the show floor: Ella & Jo Cosmetics was created by Charlene Flanagan, make up artist, and Niamh Ryan, make up artists and skin therapist. They are filling a gap in the market for fun and functional products that make every day easier for women. You can glow from head to toe with this collection of tanning essentials that will elevate your skincare routine. Their products are a multi-functional range inspired by plants & wellbeing powered by science. Their products also center around a morning & nighttime skincare regimen, containing a unique USP - incredible ingredients pushing the boundaries of multi-use and incredible skin results, while also delivering a unique sensory experience - relaxation, self-care & calm.
5. So long to synthetics
Plant-based skincare is crucial for maintaining healthy skin and promoting overall well-being. Unlike synthetic products that may contain harmful chemicals and artificial additives, plant-based skincare harnesses the power of natural ingredients like botanical extracts, essential oils, and vitamins. These ingredients are rich in antioxidants and nutrients that nourish, hydrate, and protect the skin. They are also gentler and less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions, making them suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Moreover, plant-based skincare aligns with environmentally sustainable practices, reducing the ecological footprint and promoting a more eco-friendly beauty routine. As awareness of holistic health grows, the demand for plant-based skincare continues to rise, highlighting its importance in achieving radiant, healthy skin naturally.
On the show floor: R&R Skincare is an entirely natural, plant-based skincare brand from Africa, founded on the philosophy of transforming one of nature's purest and richest gifts - shea butter - into elegant beauty products that moisturize and renew the skin. This brand delivers luxury and sings Africa’s ancient beauty secrets for ageless skin, at an affordable price, whilst simultaneously empowering hundreds of Ghanaian women in rural communities through its supply chain.
6. Improving hormone health
Improving hormonal health is vital for women's overall well-being, as hormones regulate numerous bodily functions including mood, energy levels, metabolism, and reproductive health. Balanced hormones contribute to physical and emotional stability, reducing the risk of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders, and menstrual irregularities. Unfortunately, there is still so much more research to be done and there are not enough resources for women to incorporate into their daily lives. Addressing hormonal imbalances through a holistic approach involving diet, lifestyle changes, and natural supplements can lead to a more vibrant, balanced life. By prioritizing hormonal health, women can achieve greater vitality and resilience, empowering them to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
On the show floor: Hormone University was created as an educational platform with the mission to improve hormone health such as, menopause, PMS, fertility or menstruation. This brand is here for all the women to break their silence and find relief. The founder was diagnosed with Stage IV Endometriosis in her mid 20s and this condition brought unimaginable pain into her life, leading to five surgeries, infertility, surgical menopause, and numerous other challenging consequences. Frustrated by the lack of specific research, clear information, and natural products that could be applied into her daily life, she decided to embark on a new path. She began talking to hundreds of women and discovered that many shared a common thirst for knowledge and trustworthy products, yet they didn’t know where to begin. After two years of research and hard work, thanks to gynecologic oncologist and pelvic surgeon Dr. Elizabeth Poynor, lead scientific advisor to Hormone University, they managed to create a natural alternative to hormone replacement therapy giving birth to Glow by HU. Their products are natural hormone balance delivered through your skin.
Uplink Expo is set to unveil even more intriguing trends from revolutionary brands with cutting-edge products. 2023 MADE Recap
Handmade bike enthusiasts were in for a treat this past weekend at Zidell Yards in Portland, Oregon for MADE, where more than 150 builders came together to show off their custom-crafted bikes. As the official shipping service of one of the bike industry’s newest events, Bikeflights was there to not only check out all the bikes but also to help builders get their bikes to and from the show.
In the bike industry, shows come and go. Does anyone remember Interbike or the National Bicycle Tourism Conference? And ever since the demise of the North American Handmade Bike Show (affectionately known as “NAHBS” to many) three years ago, there’s been a conspicuous hole in the calendar for those who love to ride, or even just admire handbuilt bikes. Fortunately, the brand new, multi-day Made expo, which was announced earlier this spring, brings back an opportunity for the cycling public to enjoy both the artistry and craftsmanship of builders from across the U.S. and around the world. The event was held mostly outdoors at a unique venue that used to be an industrial waterfront.
Bikeflights Gordon Wadsworth, Michael Potter, William Alcorn and Sue George set up an onsite shipping center early last week to receive builders’ bikes ahead of the show. Throughout the week, they also ran the Bikeflights booth at the expo, connecting with many riders of all types, some of whom had previously used our service and some who were new to it. And, of course, we were also there at the end to receive builders’ bikes and help get them underway back home or to the customers who’d purchased them.
Something that really struck us about the show was the mixture of established, well-known builders like Fat Chance, Moots and Mike DeSalvo and newer, lesser-known builders like Fabbro Industries, Swood Cycles and Liberation Fab. There were also some in-between brands that have been around for a bit, but are just becoming more well-known like No. 22, Chumba and Officina Battaglin. At a time when the industry as a whole is trying to figure out how to recover from a post-COVID inventory glut and bike sales slump, the presence of many younger brands and the enthusiasm of their builders was a breath of fresh air that bodes well for the future of the sport.
It’s rare that we get to do big industry events in the same city as our headquarters, so we made the most of that opportunity, tapping into Bikeflights’ President William Alcorn’s local knowledge of the many roads and bike paths in and around Portland. Every morning, before heading to the show, we’d get up early and spin our legs – anywhere from a quick one-hour pedal to a nearly 50-mile gravel tour.
And while the August haze never did clear enough for us to actually catch a glimpse of any of the four nearby volcanos, we nonetheless made the most of our surroundings, doing things like stopping to smell the roses at a local rose garden and enjoying tasty post-ride pastries outside at a local bakery.
Another highlight of our time at the show was a Chris King factory tour, led by the legendary Chris King himself. Mr. King not only gave us the history of the company but also showed us in great detail through their state-of-the-art manufacturing process, which the company has honed over almost five decades. For those who aren’t familiar with the brand, Chris King makes a variety of bike components but is perhaps best known for its bearings, hubs and headsets.
As with all industry events, it’s the people as much as the products that make the show, and throughout the week, we enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with cycling friends and colleagues from near and far.
To wrap things up, we’re sharing some of our favorite bikes from the show.
Chumba Sendero
Liberation Fabrication
Swood Cycles
Argonaut Cycles RM3
Mone Bikes
Officina Battaglin Portofino G No. 13
Fabbro Industries Type 57X
We’re already looking forward to next year, and can’t wait to see what exciting new bikes the builders will bring to Portland in 2024!
All photos – except the ones featuring Bikeflights, Chris King and the rose garden – are courtesy of Made and were taken by Chris Hornbecker, Robert Huff and Dylan VanWeelden.

McAfee unveils AI-powered deepfake audio detection

McAfee unveils AI-powered deepfake audio detection
.pp-multiple-authors-boxes-wrapper display:none; img width:100%;
McAfee has revealed a pioneering AI-powered deepfake audio detection technology, Project Mockingbird, during CES 2024. This proprietary technology aims to defend consumers against the rising menace of cybercriminals employing fabricated, AI-generated audio for scams, cyberbullying, and manipulation of public figures’ images.
Generative AI tools have enabled cybercriminals to craft convincing scams, including voice cloning to impersonate family members seeking money or manipulating authentic videos with “cheapfakes.” These tactics manipulate content to deceive individuals, creating a heightened challenge for consumers to discern between real and manipulated information.
In response to this challenge, McAfee Labs developed an industry-leading AI model, part of the Project Mockingbird technology, to detect AI-generated audio. This technology employs contextual, behavioural, and categorical detection models, achieving an impressive 90 percent accuracy rate.
Steve Grobman, CTO at McAfee, said: “Much like a weather forecast indicating a 70 percent chance of rain helps you plan your day, our technology equips you with insights to make educated decisions about whether content is what it appears to be.”
Project Mockingbird offers diverse applications, from countering AI-generated scams to tackling disinformation. By empowering consumers to distinguish between authentic and manipulated content, McAfee aims to protect users from falling victim to fraudulent schemes and ensure a secure digital experience.
Deep concerns about deepfakes
As deepfake technology becomes more sophisticated, consumer concerns are on the rise. McAfee’s December 2023 Deepfakes Survey highlights:
84% of Americans are concerned about deepfake usage in 2024
68% are more concerned than a year ago
33% have experienced or witnessed a deepfake scam, with 40% prevalent among 18–34 year-olds
Top concerns include election influence (52%), undermining public trust in media (48%), impersonation of public figures (49%), proliferation of scams (57%), cyberbullying (44%), and sexually explicit content creation (37%)
McAfee’s unveiling of Project Mockingbird marks a significant leap in the ongoing battle against AI-generated threats. As countries like the US and UK enter a pivotal election year, it’s crucial that consumers are given the best chance possible at grappling with the pervasive influence of deepfake technology.

Celebrating Freedom: A Juneteenth Extravaga in Glassboro
Commemorating African American History and Embracing Unity with The Queen’s Initiative
By Joshua Olumakin
On Saturday, June 17, 2023, in a joyous celebration of African American history, the town of Glassboro, NJ, came together and celebrated Juneteenth. The holiday on which slavery was completely abolished. The Queen's Initiative, a dynamic non-profit community organization, led the event. With a focus on empowerment, community service, and cultural appreciation, the event brought together community members of all backgrounds, creating an atmosphere of unity and commemoration.
The festivities took place at Owens Field, a sprawling park bathed in vibrant decorations that paid homage to the rich heritage of African Americans. Families, friends, and eager participants arrived with great anticipation, ready to partake in an extraordinary day of remembrance and jubilation.
The Queen’s Initiative is a nonprofit organization created by Glassboro native Latasha Waters. She was interviewed about the event. When asked about the motivations and core values of The queen’s initiative, she stated that it aims towards “community and making sure minority families are supported”. The organization also aims to “utilize the family enrichment model, which focuses on the family as a whole with aspects of entrepreneurship and education, and to make sure every member is supported as a unit to make them stronger and thrive,” she adds.
Other projects that are planned out for the near future include the return of the successful small business expo, quarterly tea party socials to discuss women's mental health, head-wrapping workshops, and obtaining their 501(C)3 status as a non profit
When asked to expand on headwrapping workshops, she stated:
“I started the workshop at first just as a volunteer thing. But then I realized there was a need for it. So I started to incorporate more of a teaching moment into it. And not only demonstrating different ways to wrap it, but also demonstrating the culture behind it and providing
further information on the history of how head wrapping started, why it is so prevalent in our fashion today as black women, and how it kind of provides us with self-expression.”
Some businesses that were present were the preserved moss art businesses, Anxious Art, African clothing design and paint business Adrinkra Luvv, and skin and nail care businesses Yah Roots and Styled By Jw.
The Queen's Initiative ensured that entertainment was a focal point, captivating the crowd with a diverse array of performances. Local artists showcased their talents through captivating dance routines, soul-stirring music, and thought-provoking spoken-word performances. Attendees were immersed in the beauty of African American artistic expression as the performances emphasized the resilience, strength, and joy inherent in the culture. Some notable performers included Glassboro native and signed artist Cannon Cobain and Trip7even
The event also featured a marketplace, where local vendors offered a variety of delicious cuisine, unique crafts, and artistry that celebrated African American heritage. Attendees delighted in the vibrant colors, flavors, and textures that filled the air, further immersing themselves in the richness of the community's culture.
The Queen’s initiative showcased the unity in the community of Glassboro. Bringing a diverse multitude of individuals, businesses, and artists out into a safe, nourishing, and successful space of Black excellence. To find more information about the Queens initiative, one can follow them on Instagram and Facebook, as they are in the process of creating a separate website from their online store.

PHL / Here After
Here After Megan Biddle and Erin Woodbrey February 18 – April 1, 2023 Reception: Thursday March 9, 6-9 pm Gallery Hours: Saturday 12-6pm, or by appointment
[Essay by Leah Triplett Harrington]
Tiger Strikes Asteroid Philadelphia (TSA PHL) is pleased to present Here After, a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Megan Biddle and Erin Woodbrey. Working across two and three dimensions, the work in Here After toggles between registers of time and physicality. What seems to be in a state of fluidity and movement is, in fact, in stasis. What is heavy is light, and that which is new seems from another time. Through objects made by naturally-occurring and fabricated processes and materials, both artists examine a spectrum of states between permanence and decay. The exhibition will be accompanied with “The Old, the New, the Fossil: Megan Biddle and Erin Woodbrey's Here After," an essay by Leah Triplett Harrington. Ripples of glass are fossilized like scars in one of Biddle’s relief sculptures entitled Future Relics. The title references a memorial object of a time we have not yet encountered, impressing upon the material world like wounds from a pressure ulcer. The dark black glass of these works is encrusted with sand, residue from their making. To produce these sculptures, Biddle plunges an object into a bed of sand, as if to explore the unseen terrain below. The resulting hollow is filled with molten black glass. This process echoes the tension between surface and what lies beneath, a theme which reverberates throughout her work.
In Woodbrey's The Carrier Bag Series, an ongoing body of sculptural and related photographic works, objects are illuminated and entombed in a mixture of ash, plaster, and gauze. As if pulled from a museum of a future past, these free-standing sculptures reference both contemporary and ancient objects, building materials, and analog forms. The series draws its title from Ursula K. Le Guin's radical rethinking of the story of human origin and technology in "The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction." Catalyzed by this and the urgency to rethink materials and cycles of waste and consumption, Woodbrey examines the paradox built into objects that are intended to be discarded but not intended to decompose. Through a careful repurposing of material, the container is animated from within, becoming a central figure in a narrative about accumulation and new materiality.
Megan Biddle has attended residencies at Macdowell, The Jentel Foundation, The Creative Glass Center of America, Sculpture Space, The Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Pilchuck Glass School, Northlands Creative Glass in Scotland, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and Mass MOCA. She has exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including A.I.R Gallery, Brooklyn, The Islip Art Museum and the Everson Art Museum in New York; the Reynolds Gallery Richmond, VA.; Space 1026 and Philadelphia Art Alliance in Philadelphia, PA.; Galerie VSUP in the Czech Republic; and the 700IS Experimental Film Festival in Iceland, and Shau Fenster and NationalMuseum in Berlin, Germany. Her work was acquired into the American Embassy’s permanent collection in Riga, Latvia. She has taught at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Pilchuck Glass School, Urban Glass, Oxbow School of Art and currently teaches as an adjunct professor in the Glass Program at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. She is a member of Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Philadelphia where she lives.
Erin Woodbrey’s recent solo and two-person exhibitions include of the Sun, Yes We Cannibal, Baton Rouge, LA; Wilder Alison + Erin Woodbrey, Gaa Gallery, Expo Chicago, Chicago, IL; Beacon, 201 Telephone Box Gallery, St. Andrews, Scotland; The Fragment Series, Gaa Gallery, Provincetown, MA; Quill Isn’t Staying Now, with Dani ReStack, Gaa Projects, Cologne, Germany; Leg, Limber, Lumber, Limb, Higgins Gallery, Barnstable, MA; Time Mothers, Gaa Gallery, Provincetown, MA; and Material Studies, Arena Gallery, Liverpool, UK. Woodbrey’s work has been included group exhibitions at White Columns (Online), New York, NY; SPACE, Portland, ME; Cry Baby, Berlin, Germany; Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Rockland, ME; SÍM Gallery, Reykjavík, Iceland; Greylight Projects, Hoensbroek, Netherlands USA; USA; International Print Center, New York, NY, and Kumu Art Museum, Tallinn, Estonia, among others. Woodbrey received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014. In 2007 she completed a BFA at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, where she also is the recipient of a 2017-18 Traveling Fellowship.
Leah Triplett Harrington is a curator, writer, and editor. As curator for Now + There, she facilitates the Public Art Accelerator and organizes large-scale public art commissions. She is also editor-at-large for Boston Art Review. Her writing has most recently appeared in that publication and ArtNet News, Sculpture, Public Art Dialogue, Flash Art, Hyperallergic, The Brooklyn Rail, and others. As an independent curator, she has organized projects for Boston University Art Galleries, Abigail Ogilvy Gallery, Trestle Gallery, Herter Gallery, and others.
