Under the Mistletoe Collection with stories from Ali Hazelwood, Tessa Bailey, Alexandra Bellefleur, and Alexis Daria
Cruel Winter with You by Ali Hazelwood, 4 stars– lots of emotions and angst here, but some really cute moments too
Merry Ever After by Tessa Bailey, 5 stars – oh wow, the heat that radiated off the pages between these two, shy, vulnerable people, it was scorching!
All By My Elf by Olivia Dade, 1 star – I got confused by the tense and who was who almost immediately and skimmed the story because of that
Merriment and Mayhem by Alexandra Bellefleur, 4 stars – a cute romcom with a firefighter and a bad luck heroine
Only Santas in the Building by Alexis Daria, 3 stars – cute story about neighbours who keep having miscommunication problems

BOOK REVIEW: THE SIX DEATHS OF THE SAINT BY ALIX E. HARROW
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed the structure of this short story. It felt like I was the main character, coming back again and again to serve someone that only saw me for how I could improve their life, not because they cared about me in any significant way. It reminds me of one of the songs from the recent EPIC saga release, and I’d love to read more fantasy stories like this one.

Donna’s so interesting in the context of wonder characters due to her identity crisis IMO.
it’s Donna who has the lasso of persuasion- one that DEPENDS on the willpower and the conviction of the wielder. A wielder who doesn’t know who she is, who never had one source of conviction or truth, who convinced herself to be different people to fit into different molds throughout her life..

Thousands of years ago in the Realm of Ocaleveth, the Demon King Ira had waged war against all living beings. Chosen by the Council of Chronos, Philip: The Hero of Light used the power of the Holy Sword to seal away the monster and bring peace to the world. But the thousand-year-old seal was undone and the Demon King has returned to Ocaleveth. I bet you're probably wondering who is responsible. Well...that person was me...

Regarding Crime 101 movie adaptation:
It being a novella and not a full book leaves ample room for additional scenes that help establish important bits of information or character moments. I like how Detective Lou (Mark Ruffalo) becomes like Davis (Chris Hemsworth) by the end, thinking like him in terms of Crime 101 rules and coming to love the beach and the highway the way Davis does.
But Davis is the draw of the story. The enigma who's pulling off these impossible robberies. And Lou is the boring guy noone gives a second look. We don't go into Davis' psyche more for the story to work. So ultimately it becomes Lou's story because his psyche is explored much more. He's given more weight and compassion with what he's going through.
But with Chris being first billed, I don't think that'll work. He'd have considerably less screentime that way and Amazon MGM studios won't want that lol. They got in a bidding war for this. So I think they'll work on that (please do).
They could easily add so much more to him in the movie. Why he chose this life, how he tracks and works on his targets to be able to pull off the robbery so smoothly, what goes on in his head during pivotal moments.
I'm sure they will make adaptational changes for the film or maybe change a few things here and there, maybe in the climax to make it more cinematic. I do like what Lou and Davis do in the climax.

This is artwork of the building that I used to base the design of some homes in the underwater kingdom of Jiol on. In my action-fantasy, Changing Waters: Jiol, villagers live like this whenever they are not under attack...so admittedly, not too often. If you're interested in stories involving merfolk, sorcery, coming-of-age, and fighting against oppressive rulers, here are the synopsis and ways to access the story below!
What rests deep in the ocean? Mermaids? Monsters? Magic? All that and more.
Far below where any human can survive, there is a kingdom called Jiol. Kostas is a 14-year-old sorcerer who resides there with his mother and friends, but it is not their home. A home is filled with love, not fear and death. It is merely where they try to survive while the royal guards, the Patrollers, constantly raid the village. They kill anyone with tails, webbing, or fins—anyone who mutated for this underwater existence.
To protect innocent lives from the unending attacks, Kostas must get stronger even if this involves going behind his mother’s back. Training, sorcery, and seers are the villagers’ only hope against the Patrollers and a royal vizier who is as cruel as he is powerful. If Kostas cannot succeed as a protector of the village, Jiolans like him will be massacred to the point of extinction.

BOOK REVIEW: A CLASSIC CASE BY ALICIA THOMPSON
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This Amazon Original Story is the best of two worlds for me: romance and mystery. I grew up going to Blockbuster, so I love that the story centers around the owner and patrons of a rental store. The mystery had me thinking there was something more sinister a foot, like in the realm of a movie where someone is living in the attic of another’s home, but I’m glad that wasn’t the case.
Audrey is a great character who I’d love to read more about. She has no qualms about doing a wellness check on an older man, even when that means breaking into his home. And, she seems to overthink little interactions just like I do, so it was nice to feel a bit validated in that way.

ngl the gomens news kind of just killed any residual anticipation i had for whatever was gonna emerge from this shitshow. 90 min isn't enough time, we'll get no minisodes which really are the things that sing about the series, and if the scripts that ng already wrote aren't being used, by necessity of copyright we won't be getting the story that was conceived by him and terry in that hotel room on the book tour all those years ago, so like....i just don't care tbh

I keep forgetting to make a post about this but uhhhhhh, I published a third book! 💖💖💖

The funny thing about this is it's very much a mixture of the two things I do best: smut and romance! In a fantasy setting, because of course!

Here's the back cover synopsis; Islix of the Indomnis Kingdom is offered the chance of a lifetime when the Royan Kingdom extends their hand in peace for the first time in three hundred years. While the proposition promises peace for both kingdoms, Islix soon discovers there is more to the Royan Kingdom than he could have ever predicted, leaving him to question everything he believes in.
It's politically inclined, and definitely inspired by what I write on here! If I'm not mistaken, it should still be free on Kindle Unlimited, too. ❤️‍🔥
In the mean time, I should mention this also evolved into a bit of a series, so I'm currently working on that, as well as a few other projects, though less spicy than what I have in this post! If you end up with a copy of it, let me know what you think!

I could never like the current WW back ups. What do you mean that half of every WONDER WOMAN issue, the single most influential female character in comics, is dedicated to cashgrab nostalgia about two male characters that have nothing to do with Diana, and Tom King's gringefail OC?
