The more I think about season 2, the more grateful I am.
In a lot of ways, OFMD's writers, cast, and crew were given an almost impossible task. S1 was brilliant and took everyone by surprise by how successful it became. I am still shocked every time I rewatch by how smart and efficient the writing is, how intelligent the social commentary. S1 is a masterclass in good television.
And for s2, expectations were incredibly high. OFMD found massive word-of-mouth success in a way I've never seen with any other show, and they suddenly had a big, incredibly passionate audience - the renewal was because of massive fan support, and that must have translated to an incredible amount of pressure in the writer's room. Plus, as if that wasn't enough on its own, they're having to deal with budget cuts and Max slashing them down to only 8 episodes to tell a 10-episode story. This is an incredibly daunting task.
And yeah, I've been critical. OFMD is my favorite show, no contest, and it's easy to be critical of the things we love. We can all see that the pacing was off this season, especially in those last two episodes. Some arcs felt rushed; some side characters didn't get enough screen time to set up what they're doing this season. Jim and Olu especially suffer for that. It's inexcusable that this show's budget was slashed the way it was and I'm sad for what we could have had.
But, on the whole? Holy shit, this season was incredibly successful! Despite an incredible amount of fan pressure, the writers told the story they wanted to tell. They never lost sight of Ed and Stede's story, and were smart about allocating screen time so our leads' arcs never suffered too much for it. There's so much creative problem solving - when they realized they'd need to be smart about which side characters to keep on screen, they turned Buttons into a bird in a way that underscored season themes of transformation and change. 10/10, no notes. They even remembered their audience and left us on a satisfying note for all our characters - we get to end with Ed and Stede, happy and together, starting their new life.
They had an impossible task and they did a fucking commendable job. Character beats and humor are balanced amazingly well. Ed and Stede feel so much more fleshed out this season. Just like in s1, OFMD will never be a show where you can catch everything with one watch - there's so many little jokes, hidden gags, small details to discover with every rewatch. And every single actor is giving it their all in every scene! You can tell how much this show was a labor of love for everyone involved.
I'm proper fucking impressed. Here's hoping they get a renewal and a better budget for season 3!

A little gift (part 2, no one asked for it but screw it)
Shadow Milk Cookie x reader fic (Chapter 2 - Theater of Lies)
Author's note: Made a part 2 cause I'm not done with my idea, I still have something else related to the story that I wanna show you (if you're interested, of course) Also, thank you for the wonderful comments in the first part, I'm glad you liked it! I hope you like this next part as much as the last one. Now, on with the show!
Part 1
Part 2 (you are here)
Part 3
A lot has happened since you got that hat: Elder Faerie died trying to buy you some time, and White Lily became the new guardian of the Seal, which made Shadow Milk Cookie changed the performance... into a quiz show! You were jumping up and down excitedly since you were eager to answer his questions (maybe that way he'll notice you for sure!). You sat down and took a deep breath before the quiz started, everyone else was standing up and steeling themselves, ready for any tricks he might pull on them. Everyone was feeling on edge after all of the recent events, and they felt very concerned and confused about the way you reacted to everything: You barely showed worry when Shadow Milk Cookie turned the whole kingdom into his personal circus, you showed remorse when Elder Faerie died but moved on quickly as soon as Shadow Milk started talking again, and now you're excited about a deadly quiz show, what the heck was wrong with you? Everyone turned to the stage when they heard Shadow Milk speak, but Wizard's gaze lingered a bit, he was gonna find out what was making you feel this way.
"Now, for the first question! Out of these False Heroes, which one is only half a Cookie? Choose your answer carefully and don't forget: time is ticking!" started Shadow Milk, as he pulled out five poorly-drawn cardboard cutouts of the Ancients, it made you giggle a bit seeing those goofy cutouts. Wizard Cookie was keeping an eye on you as you sat there, thinking.
"Half a Cookie? Isn't that... White Lily Cookie?" you pondered whether you should give your answer or not because you didn't want to put your friends in danger if you got it wrong (and you didn't want to embarrass yourself in front of him). Suddenly, you hear someone else answer.
"None of them!" yelled out Gingerbrave proudly, thinking he beat Shadow Milk at his own game.
"...oh crumbs." you thought to yourself.
"WRONG!!! Let the punishment ensue! Now... Who wants to be crumbled first?" announced Shadow Milk so loudly that it startled you. You gasped in fear of what might happen to you and your friends, and Gingerbrave (that dummy was gonna get you all crumbled!!).
"The right answer is... All of them" Pure Vanilla spoke up before anything else could happen. Thankfully, that was the answer he was looking for, so you sighed in relief, gave Gingerbrave a glare and moved on to the next question. Wizard noticed you do this, he was taking note of any changes in behavior you exhibited.
"Out of these three Cookies... Who is the biggest liar? Remember, your time is running out! So don't think for too long!" said Shadow Milk as he took out Pure Vanilla's and White Lily's cardboard cutouts and an amazingly detailed cutout of himself (you could tell how much he loved himself by the amount of effort he put into it compared to the others, it made you chuckle a bit).
"Ooh, a trick question! Ok, it can't be Shadow Milk because that would be too obvious, it might be White Lily because she lied about her being Dark Enchantress, but... how is Pure Vanilla a liar?" you thought to yourself as you wondered why Pure Vanilla was part of the choices, until you heard someone speak up.
"This is easy! It's Shadow Milk Cookie, who else!" said Wizard Cookie, so sure of his answer that he doesn't even realize that it's too easy! You started sweating and fidgeting your non-existent fingers until you heard a third Cookie speak.
"Oh no, that's... too easy..." commented Strawberry Cookie, at least someone had common sense. You got lost in your thoughts, thinking about the horrible punishment Shadow Milk had prepared for all of you!
"Well then, are you ready? What's your answer?" speak of the devil, Shadow Milk came back to hear your team's final answer.
"Come on, just repeat after me! 'Shadow...'" started Wizard Cookie, you were sooo gonna strangle him and Gingerbrave after you're done here cause like... DO THEY HAVE DEATH WISHES OR SOMETHING?!
"The biggest liar is... me, Pure Vanilla Cookie." his voice snapped you out of your silent frenzy, what was he doing?? Surely he had a good reason to call himself a liar now more than ever. Fortunately for you and unfortunately for him, that was the right answer (tho you didn't like the implications of it), another breath of relief is taken, then you give Wizard a glare, and prepare yourself for the next question.
...No, you know what? You were so angry at Wizard Cookie that, in a fit of rage, you took your hat from your head and threw it at him. Oh no!! What have you done?! You tried to apologize, but Wizard, who's been holding you suspect for having strange behavior concerning the Beast of Deceit, took it and came to the conclusion that maybe it was that stupid hat that was doing something to you, so the best course of action was to get rid of it entirely by turning it into ashes via a lightning bolt he casted on it after placing it down on the ground.
"NO!!!" you shouted as you ran to the place where your hat used to be, now turned into a pile of ash and dust. You picked up the ashes from the ground, hands trembling and tears building up in your eyes, your breath shaking and your voice breaking as you squeaked out your response.
"WHY?! Why did you do that??" you exclaimed as you threw ash at Wizard Cookie, who blocked your attack from his face but still coughed from the smell of it in the air.
"It was for your own good, that hat was controlling you, couldn't you see that?!" said Wizard Cookie in an unpleasant angry tone that even he wasn't proud of. He sighed in a tired manner and continued.
"Look, I'm sorry about what I did, but you have to understand that these are dire circumstances we're facing, so we need you to come to your senses so we can finish this and leave as soon as possible, alright?" he said with a softer tone to try to make you feel better. All you could do was get up, wipe away your angry tears and look away.
"Fine." you said, holding back more tears from flowing on your cheeks. Your face was red from the surge of emotions, so you took a few deep breaths to calm down.
But privacy isn't a thing for Shadow Milk Cookie, he saw and heard everything. There was steam coming from his head, his slit eyes were so small that they looked like toothpicks, his face might turn into a different color because of how furious he was! How dare that shorty ruin your perfect gift, he worked so hard to get it to you, and now it was nothing but a pile of cinder. He swore that he would exact his revenge on that so-called wizard and his friends, a devious grin grew on his face as he remembered his final question for them.
"Don't you worry, my little star, your darling jester will take care of this." declared Shadow Milk in his head, as he prepared everything for the last question... and final showdown.

These Lips...
This was his chance and he had to take it. Klaus knew there wouldn't be another opportunity to recruit the town witch that foiled his plans. Bonnie Bennett was loyal to the core, but the betrayal of the Salvatores could be his opening. Her mother, Abigail, has refused to transition into vampirism and her blood is on the Salvatores’ hands. Abby chose death and abandoned her daughter once again, this time permanently.
These circumstances gave Klaus the idea that he could recruit Bonnie. He hasn't had a witch at his side since Greta. She was more useful between the sheets than with her magic since she too had been killed by Damon Salvatore. Despite her inexperience, Klaus knew Bonnie was a real gem with an immense talent for spells and lots of power. This idea may sound foolish, but he was willing to try.
The stars lit the sky as he stood outside the Bennett home. He had knocked upon the door with flowers in hand that he compelled from a florist in town. The door slammed open with unexpected aggression from a girl that he expected to be drowning in her tears.
“What are you doing here?” Bonnie asked with a furrowed brow and hands on her hips.
Taken aback by her image, Klaus stared. The thin, white cotton tank and tiny shorts were the most exposed he'd ever seen her. He schooled his expression before responding, “I'm here to offer my condolences.”
“Orchids? Is this a joke?” She stepped onto the porch in pink fuzzy socks to retrieve the potted plant from his arms.
“I know how much you adore flowers.” The scent of her rose perfume always lingered when
“Thanks,” Bonnie snorted before giving him a dismissive wave. “You can leave now.”
“You won't invite me in?”
“I'm a little tipsy but I'm not stupid.”
Klaus eyed her shivering form and the hardened nipples poking through her top. With her figure on display, he knew her breasts would fit perfectly in his hands. He didn't come here for her body, and yet she's too enchanting to resist.“You look a little cold.”
She was completely oblivious to his simmering lust for her and rolled her eyes, thinking he was pretending to care about her well-being. “I'm fine. No need to worry about me.”
“I know how you're feeling,” He whispered as he stared into her eyes. “I've lost a mother before.”
Bonnie sighed, frustrated with his refusal to go. He would not fool her with fake empathy. She wanted to grieve alone and bonding over mommy issues with a serial killer wasn't on her agenda for tonight. “You killed your mother and now she wants to kill you.”
“We weren't always so focused on rage and murder, you know.”
“That was a long time ago.”
“It was but I can remember it clearly.” Klaus gave a small smile and Bonnie refused to be distracted by his cute dimples.
“And how did you feel after you murdered your mother?”
“I wasn't grieving my mother, but the mother I wished I had. The ache in your stomach, the longing for her acceptance, the overwhelming loneliness…”
“Sounds familiar,” said Bonnie as she looked away from him to count the stars. Talking to Klaus wasn't what she expected. It was too comfortable. And it didn't seem like he was planning to go anytime soon.
“You’ll get through this, Bonnie,” Klaus spoke, focused on the pain written on her face. “You've always been strong, amazingly so.”
“What if I don't want to be strong?”
He gently grabbed her chin, forcing their eyes to connect. “Then allow me to be strong for you.”
“You?”
“I can take good care of you. I just need you to let me in.”
Bonnie hesitated while she memorized every detail of his face at this moment. She was always aware that he was handsome despite his villainous way. The unusual softness in his eyes made her act out of character and press a light kiss to his lips. “Come in.”

𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
What are code words?
According to Oxford Languages, code words are, "a word used for secrecy or convenience instead of the usual name for something." And the example sentence used beneath the definition is, "secret projects were identified by special code words." I briefly mentioned code words (also can be referred to as switch words) in a recent post where I discuss the importance of a manifestation foundation and how to create one.
How do code words work?
Code words are cues that mean something without explicitly giving details. One would automatically connect the code word to whatever definition that's been assigned to it. A code word can also be a phrase, or a trigger for those who know what the code word means. Sometimes hypnotherapists even use code words while hypnotizing their clients.
What are some examples of code words?
Look in the world around you, hospitals and law enforcement use code words. For example, in most hospitals they have code words like 'code blue' which could widely mean a patient requiring resuscitation or otherwise in need of immediate medical attention, most often as the result of a respiratory or cardiac arrest. On the flip side, law enforcement and even emergency dispatchers have codes as well, usually used in the form of a series of numbers that describe particular situations without needing to say anything but those specific order of numbers. Such as, in most American police code, a 10-00 code means that an officer is down or needs assistance. Do you notice how both codes are simple, short, but mean very specific things? The people that use these codes automatically know what these codes mean, subconsciously, without needing the wordy explanation on what they mean after they've studied, and associated those situations with this code. Codes make it easier to remember specific scenarios, the subconscious already knows what these codes mean. And in these professions, they are way more codes out there that we aren't even aware of, but they are.
How can I use code words to manifest?
Most people may already be using affirmations, askformations/afformations, mantras, and other manifestation techniques to manifest. However, there may be a possibility that someone wants to manifest a very specific, detailed scenario and do not wish to constantly have to remember and repeat those details over and over. So, why not use the examples of thoss mentioned above and create your own code words to manifest those very specific, detail-oriented scenarios?
Are code words more powerful than affirmations?
Code words are just as powerful as affirmations because they are all working to do the same thing! However, there is a belief that because code words are so short and can have many different ideas connected to that singular word or phrase, it can quickly bypass the resistance one may have about a certain topic or situation. Also, code words make it extremely easy to repeat a set of affirmations in a short amount of time. They are extremely powerful in their own way, but never sell affirmations short on how powerful they are as well. Both work amazingly!
Can you give an example on how to create code words and how I can use them in my manifestation journey?
I'll use myself as an example. Let's say that I want to manifest completely flawless, clear skin. Simple enough, yeah, but let's say that I want to get detailed on how I would like my skin to be. I could easily say an affirmation like 'I have my dream skin,' or something along those lines, but, I also want to get extremely detailed in what my dream skin would look like simply to appease myself. For example—
My skin is perfect. My skin is always flawless. I have no hyperpigmentation. My body is blemishfree. I have an even skintone all around. Every product I use on my skin makes it 1000x more vibrant and glowy.
That's a lot of affirmations to remember, right? Fortunately, we know about code words! So... How would I choose a code word? Simple, I've decided that I will use SKIN for my code word, and I will read my list of affirmations a few times, and my subconscious mind will automatically connect my affirmations to this single code word. Think of it like this— my code word is like a bucket and my affirmations/thoughts that I want to be true about this particular topic, will be what fills the bucket. When most people look at a bucket, they automatically think that it is to hold something within it. That's exactly what the subconscious will do when you give it that code word.
Can my code word be more than one word?
Absolutely! You can even make a phrase! Think of it as your own little secret.
Could I use code words for anything, and by anything I mean anything?
Uh, hell yeah. You can use code words for anything you could possibly ever think of, even for the void if that's what you're secretly wondering.
How would I use code words to manifest entering the void // waking up in the void, etc?
Easy. Write down some affirmations/ statements you wish to be true about the void, doesn't matter what it is, and then choose a code word to use. VOID is a good code word to start. Once you've gotten your preferred code word, all you'll need to do is repeat your code word whenever you think about anything involving the void. Or whenever you need to correct doubtful thoughts. You may also robotically affirm VOID if you so choose to. You can also use the code word for easy 10k repetition. There are many ways to use code words, feel free to experiment!
Can I use code words with psych-k?
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to, so, feel free to experiment!
Wait... this sounds a lot like the list method, are code words and the list method the same?
No, but they are definitely similar in their own way, and can even be combined if you wished to do so! Code words and list defer because lists would involve different things of different topics, whereas code words would involve affirmations dealing with a very specific topic of your choice.
How could I combine the list method with code words?
Create your code words, and then make a list of those code words, then you could affirm that every single one of your code words are true and always will be true. Think of it as drawing out a web of thoughts.
NOTES -> and there we have it folks, code words. I hope that ya can use this tool to your advantage, if you've got any questions, I recommend to always do research or if you'd like, feel free to send me questions! good luck, and have fun!

The Vengeful Deceiver - Teen Wolf Fanfiction
Scarlett Black, she has been a vampire for 8 years and now forced to go back to school, forced to control herself in front of so much food. All for a puppy.
MASTERLIST
<< Previous - Next >>
CHAPTER 8
"So you killed her?" Stiles asked as they entered the school.
"I don't know," Scott answewd, "I've just woke up."
The puppy remembered what had happened the night before. More or less. But he remembered as if it had been a dream and, of course, that he had attacked Allison. As if he couldn't become more predictable...
Anyway, Scarlett feared that he would have remembered her, but she could not go away now; it would have been too strange.
"I was sweating like crazy; I couldn't breathe. I never had a dream where I woke up like that before," Scott said, turning to them.
"Really?" Stiles asked from next to Scarlett, "I have. Usually ends a little differently." A smirk appeared on her lips as she looked at him. Stiles spun his head towards her with wide eyes.
"I... I mean..." she could feel how flustered he was. That was so strange. She could not only see it, she felt it. And she had to fight her fangs to come out.
"It's alright," she said, smirking up at him. "We all have wet dreams."
"Oh my god..." but she ignored him, wanting to know more about the puppy and what he remembered. So she could come up with a quick response if needed.
"Yeah, but A, I never had a dream that felt so real," Scott said, glaring at his friend, "And B, never give me that many details of you in bed."
Stiles nodded his head, looking at Scarlett for a brief moment, "Noted," then he took a deep breath, "Let me take a guess here though-"
"No, I know," Scott interrupted him, "You think it has something to do with me going out with Allison tomorrow like I'm gonna lose control and rip her throat out."
Scarlett did her best not to roll her eyes. The puppy really had only one thought in his head. But that was not exactly a bad thing. If it made him remember everything as if it were a dream, the better. Well, no, maybe not, since the body of the Driever was still in the parking lot.
"No, of course not," Stiles was saying, but when Scott turned to him with a glare, he spoke again, "Yeah, that's probably it."
Scarlett shook her head, "In the dream there was blood?"
Scott looked at her before sadly nodding his head.
"Alright," she said, "And nothing of yours was covered in blood? Or have her scent?"
Scott seemed to think about it. She was sure there was no trace of blood on him since he did absolutely nothing if not put himself in between. But she needed to look nice and understanding, so when he told her that he did not see blood or remember her scent, Scarlett smiled.
"I think you're probably fine, then," Scarlett said, "It must have been just a dream."
"Scarlett is right," Stiles said, looking at his friend. "Come on, it's gonna be fine, all right?" but Scott didn't answer, "Personally, I think you're handling this pretty freakin' amazingly. You know, it's not like there's a lycanthropy for beginners class you can take," then he turned to Scarlett, "Right?" the girl frowned.
"No, listen, don't look here," she said, "He'd need another werewolf."
"Like a teacher?" Scott asked, but in the way he said it, it seemed like he had already thought about that.
Scarlett nodded her head, "Everybody needs to learn somehow," she said, "Your body changes, your needs change. And soon, if you don't control it, it's going to control you," She still remembered what Talia had always said to her. From the moment they had found her, Talia and Peter had been the ones helping her with the beginning of her change. Even if, after everything that happened, Scarlett didn't keep her promise to stay as human as she could. She killed for rage at the beginning, but then it became fun. She knew that Talia didn't want that for her, but there was nothing else to do, if not killing every single Argent.
Stiles turned to his friend with wide eyes, "Who Derek?" he asked, and when Scott didn't answer, he slapped him behind the head, "You forgetting the part where we got him tossed in jail?"
What did she have to do? Say something? Say anything? Say that she knew Derek Hale? Or maybe not?
Maybe telling everything would have been more suspicious. Maybe she could find other times to tell it to them.
She had to be very careful. Derek was an unexpected change of events and not very pleasant. He was not like her or Peter.
"Yeah, I know," Scott answered. "But chasing her, dragging her to the back of the bus, it felt so real." Scarlett frowned. That was so strange; he remembered, but at the same time, he didn't. Something similar had happened the night before, but it was the driver.
"How real?" Stiles asked.
"Like it actually happened," Scott said, and Scarlett did her best not to draw any attention to herself. She was glad that her heart didn't beat anymore, or it would have been very difficult to explain.
They had arrived at the parking lot entrance, and Scarlett stooped behind the boys as they opened the door. What they saw made them gasp; the back door of the bus was torn open, and blood was everywhere. Scarlett's eyes moved to the puppy as Stiles spoke, "I think it did."
Scott immediately took his phone and went back into the school. Stiles and Scarlett shared a look before they both followed him.
"She is probably fine," Stiles said, trying to calm his friend. Scarlett observed the puppy, if he lost control would have been a mess. But he wasn't the only one who was feeling worry and fear. Her eyes went to Stiles, who was walking in front of her. She knew that those emotions weren't hers; they were his.
This bond thing was actually starting to freak her out. She had never thought that she would have felt like that. She absolutely had to talk to Peter and understand how to keep it under control.
"She's not answering my texts, Stiles!" Scott exclaimed, panicking.
"You know, it could just be a coincidence," Stiles said before looking down, "A seriously amazing coincidence."
"You're not helping," Scarlett said to him.
"Just help me find her, okay?" Scott begged, and Scarlett started to look around, trying to seem as worried as she could, even if she knew perfectly well that the girl was fine. For now, at least.
Scott was completely panicked right now. He would have turned if he had kept going on like this. Scarlett put a hand on Stiles' chest, holding him behind her as Scott turned the corner.
"He's gonna turn?" Stiles asked.
"If he keeps it like this, for sure," Scarlett answered, hearing a loud noise like the one given by a punch on metal. Scott had just destroyed a locker. Then she looked up at Stiles. His brown eyes were wide as he observed his friend, unsure of what to do. Maybe she should have acted a little more worried. Allison was supposed to be her friend.
"Isn’t your dad the sheriff?" Scarlett asked Stiles as they kept following Scott.
"What? Yeah..." he answered from behind her.
"Any emergencies?” she asked, and she observed him think as his fingers tapped the straps of his bag frenatically. "If she had disappeared yesterday night, her parents would have called the police, wouldn't they?" Scarlett said. The Argents would have never slept well without knowing where their daughter was. If he could just stop for a moment and think, maybe he wouldn't have revealed to the entire school who he was.
And in fact, here she was, at the entrance, getting a jump scare from the puppy.
"Ah, thank God," Stiles said, from next to Scarlett.
"Yeah..." she muttered, looking at the two.
He did not remember a thing from the night before. Scarlett knew that werewolves could be weak; they could lose control if they felt too strong emotions, especially if they were puppies. But Scarlett could not believe that he could even forget what he had been doing the night before.
"You've got Harris too?" Stiles' question made her turn to meet his eyes. The color of his eyes was of a strange color, in a good way. But it was the smell of his blood that caught her off guard. She already knew it, but it felt different.
"Yes," she said, taking a step back. "We... we better go."
The two of them decided to leave Scott to talk with Allison, and they made their way to Harris's classroom. Stiles did most of the talking, and Scarlett could not say that she was listening to him. Her eyes would keep lingering on his face, and so would the softness of his skin. She could almost hear his blood in his veins, and she would have gladly bit him, but not for hunger.
What the hell is happening?
"Don't you think?" Stiles' question made her turn to him with a frown. The smile on his face slowly got replaced by an embarrassed one. "I've bored you, haven't I?"
"No," she was quick to answer, "Not at all, I was just... thinking what would have happened if Scott had turned inside the school."
"Yeah," he answered, adjusting the bag on his shoulder. "Glad it didn't happen." It would have been difficult to explain to the entire school. The puppy was lovesick for sure, and Scarlett was not sure he would be of any use against the Argent.
"Are you okay?" She looked up at him when he asked that question. He was not inquisitive, only asking. Almost concerned. She was not used to that kind of gaze.
"Yeah," she said, looking away with a smile, "Yeah, just a tough morning that will only get tougher with Harris."
Stiles chuckled. "Oh, I know," he said, nodding his head. Nobody hates him like me. " Then he seemed to think about it. "And... nobody hates me like he does." That made her laugh, and as she did, Stiles looked at her with a cute, goofy expression, proud of himself for having her giggling.
"Well," she said as her eyes met his, "His loss."
As they entered the classroom, some students, including Harris, were already there. Scarlett frowned in observing the man; he was young, pleasant to look at, but he seemed already pissed at nine A.M. That was not attractive on a man.
There were not three seats at the same table, so Scarlett gave a glance to Stiles. "I guess I'll talk to you later."
He nodded his head quickly, "Yeah, yeah, for sure." Then he started to look around. "I'm gonna sit there," he pointed at a table not far from them. But as he was about to move, he turned to her with wide eyes, "Only if you don't want to sit there! It's not like that is my seat or something, just a seat. And it is in the back. But if you want it."
"Stiles," she stopped him, "You're ranting." Suddenly, a blush appeared on his face. The rush of his blood to his face, the beating of his heart, and the shyness that she was feeling from him had another strange effect on her.
"I'm sitting there," she said, trying to move away from him as quickly as possible. That was not normal. Why was Stiles getting her so distracted?
I have to speak to Peter, she told herself.
"Is this seat taken?" she asked to a girl with long black hair and pale skin. She looked up to her when she heard Scarlett's voice, and she blinked her dark eyes.
"No, you can sit," she said in a faint voice before returning to the sketch she was making in her notebook. That was a strange girl, for sure. Scarlett had already seen her; her name was Irene Woods, and she was considered strange by many people. Lydia always said that she freaked her out. Irene was always alone; she had no friends, and she usually talked to herself and whispered when she talked to others.
The lesson had started, and Scott had made it in time so as to not get detention. But if he wasn't late for class, he surely wasn't keeping a low profile. Not him or Stiles.
"Mr. Stilinski," Harris said in a loud voice, "If that's your idea of a hushed whisper, you might want to pull the headphones out every once in a while." Scarlett turned to look at the boys; they had been whispering since when Scott had first taken a seat. "I think you and Mr. McCall would benefit from a little distance, yes?"
"No," Stiles said with wide eyes. But his big eyes did not work on Harris because he made him move and sit anyway. Her eyes followed him like she was feeling drawn to his figure. She was starting to regret her idea, but Peter seemed to love it, so she probably just needed to get used to sharing a bond with Stiles and understand what that meant and how to control it. Sure, she had always found him cute, and she would have gladly eaten him, but this felt different, and it was pissing her off.
"Hey, I think they found something." A girl's sudden voice made them all turn to the windows before some of them rushed to see what was happening outside. Scarlett got up so that she could seem worried like everyone else, even if she knew very well that the cops must have found the body.
"What if he is not dead?" Irene's voice made Scarlett turn her gaze to the girl; she was still sketching and not moving from her position.
"What did you say?" Scarlett asked just before everyone gasped. She decided to leave the girl where she was and made her way to Stiles and Scott.
"This is good. This is good," Stiles said. He got up; he was not dead. Dead guys don't do that." Scarlett had to do all she could to not let her shock appear on her face. What did he mean that the driver was not dead? He should have been. Dead and forgotten.
"Stiles," Scott whispered, "I did that."

Chat tell us about Junias parents
yayayayayyayayayy!!! ^^
So this is them!
Her mother Lydia and father Argus
Argus' hair is supposed to be darker, but this is the best I could find in this picrew and I don't wanna spend hours looking for another picrew that lets you make a masculine-looking person with pink hair and pink skin
The way Argus died is that he just kinda went out one day and he just never came home. He had a notoriously bad sense of direction so it's likely he just got lost and ended up a bigger, stronger mer's meal.
I think, had Argus lived, he and Junia would've gotten along amazingly. He was also autistic, though like Junia he was never really brought to see a doctor about it.
I sadly don't have a lot to say about him because he and Lydia knew each other for a very short amount of time, and just never had the time to properly get to know each other.
And Lydia I talked a bit about in Junia's post, but not a lot
I haven't developed all the details yet, but she did not have a very safe life growing up. Her family was a bit more well-off than average, at least at first, but she was still a very colorful mer in the Coral Sea (both Lydia and Argus are Rainbow Parrot fish mer) so she and her family were 'easy prey' in a sense. I think their family were actually 'kicked out' of the safer parts of the Coral Sea when she was quite young, and with it their social standing fell quite a bit. So she still remembered the much better life she'd had when she was young, and wanted to return to it. And she had to watch a few of her family members die early on because they just couldn't adapt.
So this would obviously instill in her a strong sense of self-preservation. And as a smaller mer and with way less physical might than most others you'd find in the more dangerous parts of the sea, she had to learn to rely on her few remaining relatives to keep her safe.
And eventually she managed to marry Argus.
I don't think they knew each other very well, if at all. It was a political marriage in every sense of the word.
Argus did try his best to get along with Lydia, and even wanted to try 'dating', for lack of a better term- basically he wanted to try to make things work romantically too.
But alas, he died just a few month after the wedding. The parts around where they lived had also started to become way more dangerous, hence why the marriage happened in the first place.
And Lydia, having just found out she was pregnant, basically said 'fuck this shit, I'm out' and took the risk of moving all the way to the Queendom of Roses. Basically all by herself. Argus' family stayed behind, since they weren't close with Lydia at all, and still believed Argus would come back (he never did)
But, even though the Queendom of Roses was a lot safer, and she had all she really needed, she still held onto the dream of going back to the glamorous life of her youth, and already had plans of, just like she had, working her way up in the world through either achievements or marriage. So she was going to either raise her child to become skilled enough to obtain a good position at court, or she'd try to marry them off to a suitor of the highest social standing she could find.
Edit: I don't know why but this isn't showing up on my moots' dashes so I'm tagging people

Concept art by Ric Lim depicts the Mandalorian working on a device on The Ring. Image from The Book of Boba Fett, Season 1, Episode 5, Return of the Mandalorian. Calendar by DateWorks.
Grogu wondered what the Mandalorian had been up to when he was stuck at Luke’s Jedi Sleep Away Camp. The bounty hunter had merely grumbled at him when he asked the question, that he’d been busy. But busy covers a lot of territory. Was he busy looking for a ship? Was he busy polishing his armor? Was he busy trying to find a way out of being responsible for Grogu? Any of those things could have been true, but they didn’t all feel true.
The armor hadn’t looked any shinier and it definitely didn’t look like it had been improved. The Armorer must have been mad at him about something. Otherwise she would have made him something to dress up that armor even more.
The ship was okay. It’s one saving grace was that it was fast. Really fast. So fast. Amazingly fast. Did he mention that the N-1 was fast? But that was the best quality it had. It wasn’t comfortable. It wasn’t easy to operate. It didn’t have a privy, a preserver, or a cabin where he could get a let shut eye. Nope. It was fast and small and that was about it.
That just left one thing… trying to find ways to ditch Grogu. Dank Farrik! Why would the Mandalorian want to waste time trying to do that? Grogu was his best friend. They saved each other’s lives. They understood each other’s needs. They were brought together by the Force and frankly you really don’t mess around with the Force unless you were too impatient to do things the normal, slow, thorough, generally reliable way. Din Djarin wasn’t that sort of risk taker, was he?
Grogu sighed. He could already hear his dad saying ‘I like those odds’. The bounty hunter was definitely a risk taker. On the other hand, he spent hours upon hours, slowly, carefully, and with great attention to details, materials, and process, polishing his beskar armor so that every bit of it was highly reflective and hugely annoying to anyone who accidentally glanced at it in full sunlight or even lit by a dim bulb in the middle of the night in a cantina privy. That must have had some sort of impact on the level of risk taking his best friend was willing to take. It had to.
But then, Grogu remembered the time he saved the Mandalorian from the mudhorn on Arvala-7 and how that critter had pretty much trashed his old armor. He’d taken that risk and the armor had paid the price. Of course he needed to take the risk to get all of his parts back from the Jawas who had taken them. Well, not parts of Din Djarin, but parts of the Razor Crest, which was their only means of leaving Arvala-7. If he doesn’t take the risk, he doesn’t get the reward. But he already had Grogu as a companion! What more did he need?
Womp rats! This wasn’t helping at all. Grogu needed to know how the Mandalorian had spent that time they were apart. Obviously the armor had survived and the Razor Crest had not. How those things came to pass were kind of important. Also, how the heck did he come by that Naboo 1 starfighter? Those things were pretty scarce. The Empire had seen to that.
“Eh!” Grogu complained at the Mandalorian, once he tracked him down in the Daimyo’s palace.
“Do you need something?”
His dad asked, as he noticed Grogu tapping his boot.
Grogu nodded his head and then began to sign his questions as rapidly as he could, because he didn’t want his dad to distract him by offering him food or the silver knob or anything else like that.
“What did I do while we were apart? I thought I told you all about that?”
Din Djarin was giving him that hands on his hips look with his head tipped to one side that Grogu knew meant the Mandalorian was trying to trick him.
Grogu shook his head from side to side and stomped one foot. He hoped his dad understood that meant he was being called out for that little bit of imaginative thinking.
“Fine. I’ll tell you what I did. I collected a bounty. Trained with the Darksaber. Went to Tatooine. Rebuilt the N-1 with Peli and then helped the Daimyo and Fennec out with their problems with the Pykes. Oh, and I went up to Freetown and chatted with Marshal Vanth. Jo says ‘Hi’, by the way. Satisfied?”
Grogu nodded his head. He was satisfied. For now. At least he had a wider trail to follow. He could talk to Jo and then Fennec. Maybe go to Mos Eisley and check in with Peli. He wasn’t sure when he could track down Paz Vizsla or the Armorer, but they’d know about the Darksaber. Grogu was certain of that. They also might know something about the last bounty the Mandalorian had collected and what happened to the beskar spear.
He just couldn’t imagine Din Djarin giving up a weapon that useful. There must have been something else going on with it and Grogu was just going to have to figure what that was, even without his dad’s help, because that’s what Mandalorian bounty hunter apprentices’ do.

pressure cracks by BananasofThorns (10271,Teen) Warnings: None Pairings: Fjord & Caleb Widogast
Fjord is a student at Solstryce Academy. Professor Ermendrud requests a private meeting with him.
Reccer says: It's got echoes of Fjord and Caleb's dynamic in the pirate arc, combined with scourger Bren

A young Essek is becomes friends with a young Caduceus Clay

Percy's not the only member of his family to survive the Briarwoods' attack. He's just the only one to do so alive.

Beauregard meets Bren for lunch
Reccer says: I love scourger Bren vs. Beauregard fics, and this is a lovely little taste
The Fool and the Soldier by mare_astrorum (200,000+,Mature) Warnings: None Pairings:
Mollymauk Tealeaf survived the Mighty Nein's encounter with the Iron Shepherds on Glory Run Road, but a short time later, a spirit began hunting him, claiming that he stole his body.
Reccer says: One of the most insane things Matt dropped during the wrap-up was where the campaign might have gone had Molly survived. This is such a wonderful exploration of the concept of the Tombtakers as reoccurring enemies and Molly still with the party that is wonderfully IC, extremely detailed, and a lot of fun. It's going to be a long one and it's ongoing, so buckle in.
Magic Jar by Anonymous (3211,Teen) Warnings: none Pairings: none
The mighty nine, if Caleb was a soul in a magic jar
Reccer says: It's a fascinating premise and an amazing thing to think about
you'll let it go by pigflight (1590,Teen) Warnings: major character death Pairings: Delilah Briarwood & Laudna
What if Delilah convinced Laudna to take the shard?
Reccer says: wonderfully angsty and delicious

i. just rewatched the fourteenth target and holy hell. remember the good ol days when dc movies are actually good? but also. shin'ichi's card is the ace of spades?? a card commonly associated with death and either good or bad luck in some cultures??? but it can also symbolize power and change and new beginnings? and one of the highest and most valued card in the deck?? and just how well all of those just fits w his character?? death/bad luck- as in his close call w the aptx (and the shinigami allegations lmao cant forget that. kid's a murder magnet it's canon) change/new beginnings- his new life as edogawa conan? his character development- yk what the poem's already spelled out for us. this is probably jsut a coincidence but still. poetic cinema 4 the win!!
Dude. Yes.
I also am a slut for symbolism and all of that, and let me tell you. The shark thing as well as the ace of spades thing are two of my most favorite symbols for Shinichi. It's just great isn't it?
Like, you explained it amazingly, so I won't repeat. But it really shows the character. I like that kaito is more or less canonically the ace of clubs too, which represents good luck, abundance... I believe it fits him a lot too. And I guess some would argue that Hakuba and Heiji could be the aces of diamonds and hearts respectively. Which just ties it all in so nicely hahahahaha
I LOVE these little details. Such nice cool stuff to think about and consider!

Who was in charge of marketing for Harry Potter?
(This isn't about She Who Must Not Be Named or her bigotry. This is purely about the business of bookselling.)
If you were a YA reader at the time, or you're into fandom history, you might know the story: July 16, 2005, in the wee hours of the morning a car pulls up to a bunch of teens and children standing outside a bookstore, and some jackass shouts at the top of their lungs: "Snape kills Dumbledore!" and then speeds away.
That story was infamous. THE biggest plot twist of THE biggest book series in the world, spoiled before anyone could even crack the pages.
Which is... actually kinda weird, right? How'd they know?
Had they read an advance copy? Did they stand in line since like 4 PM to get their hands on the book, and then the second they got their hands on it just frantically start skimming the last hundred pages or so until they found a particularly devastating bomb to drop? (Trolls being trolls, this was not considered particularly extreme behavior).
Or were they paid to do it?
This is adult me with conspiracy goggles on, but consider: The message that was sent is not that a character killed another character, but that no matter how hard you try to avoid spoiling your favorite story, some bad-faith actor is going to jump out of the bushes and do it anyway. There's no time to wait for your library's copy to be available, no time for your friend or your sibling to finish and hand it to you-- you have to buy your own copy right the fuck now.
And everybody and their sibling (literally, people were buying multiple copies per family) around the world buying the same book in the space of the same two weeks? That is how a book guarantees a spot on every international best seller list for a long ass time.
The thing is, whether this was a deliberate move or an amazingly convenient and lucrative bit of trolling does not matter. Regardless of the source, the marketing department pounced on an opportunity. Every brick-and-mortar bookstore left had piles of bookmarks and buttons, posters plastered on the windows, dividing readers into one of two teams: either "Trust Snape" or "Snape is a Bad Man". People wearing those pins sparked conversation and debate in real life, to say nothing of what was going on in the forums. Essays and treatises and manifestos were written. Books were published-- both officially licensed materials and unofficial ones full of theories and details.
When that next and final release was coming out, you bet your ass everybody on the planet was going to be there (or risk another drive-by spoiler). When the next movie was released that November, it didn't matter that what had come before was kinda iffy in quality-- people were showing up in costume.
Even before The Drive By Spoilering, the marketing team was honestly the stuff of legend. Gorgeous hand-illustrated covers and chapter header artwork, branded title fonts that could be recognized from a mile away in the dark, big fancy displays present in every single school book fair, and then that website-- the official website was a thing of absolute beauty, especially in that time. It was colorful and had a million moving parts and secrets to uncover, it was updated frequently and with a lot of little secret extra tidbits on the character and world, and oodles of essays from the author herself that were often very endearing to the readership. It was a gathering place for fans as much as the fan-run websites.
(I should point out that with marketing this robust, I have no doubt in my mind that all those tidbits and essays were themselves run past the team for approval, to make sure nothing particularly egregious slipped through the cracks. But that kind of editing isn't cheap, and I suspect it would only really have been employed during the Important Years for the franchise.)
I remember wanting to be a writer as a teenager, embarking on that career as I got out into the world and started querying books I'd written, and for every single one of us in the writing community, that kind of marketing was the dream. The midnight releases in full costume, the gorgeous custom covers, the posters in every library and bookstore, the breathtaking website. But all of those things turn out to be heinously expensive, and for every franchise that returns on that investment, there were dozens, perhaps hundreds, who didn't make back enough, or cover their expenses at all. And that's where you get to the point where querying authors were advised to establish massive followings on social media in order to demonstrate that they were a safe bet, that half the work was already done if the publishers would just give us a chance-- and sure, for some of them that effort did get them publishing contracts. At which point, even if the publishers felt inclined to spend more than a pittance on promoting new authors' work, there wasn't any point in doing so to the degree that the Harry Potter books received. There's little room to stand out in a saturated market; a flash in the pan is only impressive if the pan isn't already on fire.
These days there's little hope of any one new author rising to that kind of fame, though with self-promotion and self-advocacy, a lot more diverse authors are starting to carve out places for themselves. But marketing yourself is exhausting, and it's expensive, and it makes you vulnerable to all sorts of stupid blunders and career-ending missteps.
I'd rather stay indie. But I wouldn't say no to that marketing team.

ok so. wax. wax is a nightmare, but it's sort of ridiculously fun too. I ended up trying a total of five times to cast plasticine in wax since I had it and I wanted to see if any configuration would work - I would not suggest doing this asdkfhlkfdjsf
the sixth attempt became the mould for the two most recent masks after I just took the blob of sullied wax and carved directly into it in a fit of desperation, then papier mache'd directly onto the positive model. negative moulds are superior for retaining detail and I had to often carve back into the wet papier mache to get any of the wrinkles, which wasted a lot of time, but it did work.
the second time I got carried away with decorating it before removing it from the mould because I realised it'd be easier to just do it like that - I also wanted to see if I could push the gold string into the wet papier mache to make it stick better, kinda worked? not amazingly well though. but yeah, the wax just got stuck in there completely. and since I was making it specifically to show to someone the next day I ended up just breaking the mould to crumbly smithereens in my rush to remove it
the firmness of wax makes it kind of nice for fine details in a way that plasticine isn't, but it depends. I mentioned wanting to make paper brooches, and I think for small lettering for instance, doing a wax positive is nicer - it also melts out of plaster, which I remember doing in highschool, and it's much easier than picking plasticine out of the little crevices afterwards
plaster still seems to be the best so far for doing negative moulds, despite the fact it can't be reused if you screw it up and isn't as common as something like paper or wax. I might have to research more substitutes. I don't want to touch resin, I already get too many of the substances I use on myself - I don't mix well with hazards like that...
maybe want to like. have a little visual of the steps it takes to make a mask and what alterations to the method I've attempted...

ooooh you've awakened my Steven Moffat DW pet peeve. usually he's fine but my major annoyance with his episodes, and MUCH WORSE in Sherlock where he had more creative control, is his obsession with having EVERYTHING fit into the overarching plot. Everything. Nothing is random nothing is natural its all part of the Big Plan That Will Surely Pay Off Amazingly. it's just so exhausting and takes the kick out of individual episodes because you can't focus on the actual stories there because Stevey is too busy drawing your attention to his ever growing cork board of a plot. like, jesus man WHY would Moriarty give half a wet shit about some random murdering taxi cab driver. Where does that fit in Steve. Bad Wolf worked ONCE Steve. Once.
Hoo boy. The short-form format of that post didn't let me go into detail but coming back to this series a lot of his episodes are so much worse than I remember them being.
And I'm glad you said that! Because it fits into another issue I didn't even bring up. Why is there such a weird fixation on who exactly is 'most important' to the doctor? Because it feels like that comes up so much in the Moffat era. The Ponds are important by being in-laws. River is important because of the weird timeline fuckery and them getting married once. Later Clara is treated as the most important person in his life because of more timeline fuckery. There's a point where it gets dull going 'but then *this* bond with *this* woman was even more deep and complex and unshakable than the last one, really!' multiple times. Characters can't just 'be,' they have to connect to him on a deeper level somehow. It's never just happening to bump into someone, there's always some time and space fate bullshit that pops up.
(And see, while 'The Doctor's Wife' was absolutely full of that as well, that's the one example where it *does* work, because it centers around the one character that's literally been at his side for the entire goddamn series)
One of the things that was fun about the RTD seasons, especially about the companions and recurring characters, was that there was nothing fundamentally special about most of them. Any specialness came from traveling and growing as as person and then doing something courageous based on that growth. Characters came and went and it was sad, but the doctor was a temporary part of their life in the same way that he was to theirs, not the main focal fixture of their existence that made it meaningful. The act of interacting with others added to the richness and sense of understand in one's own life. It feels weird to say in such silly phrasing but it felt like a lot of the first four seasons were simply about the power of friendship on a massive, cosmic scale
Yeesh and yep that's not even getting into the man's complexity addiction. Having an overarching narrative isn't inherently bad but I felt like hopping from season 4 to season 5 was like going from a show where most of the episodes could be watched as desired with a bit of seasonwide narrative to literally having to watch every episode in the designated order without fail unless you wanted to be completely lost. The plot-heavy episodes can be fun but when that's most of the season it becomes a bit harder to digest. It just feels a bit like it's taking itself too seriously
Also. Did I mention the horny? Can't remember if I mentioned the horny.

Alright I just finished Chapter 1 of Rejuvenation 13.5 and I have many thoughts I want to ramble about.
I want to note that I have done 100% playthrough of version 13.0 a few months after it had initially released, so although my memory is a bit rusty, I will be talking a bit about some of the changes between the versions (i want to note that they're all positive imo)
Also should note that be wary of spoilers for new content for 13.5 as well as spoilers for story stuff since I want to talk about how good the writing in this game is. I've taken a lot of screenshots and will be adding them when i think they fit in my little rambles and stuff.
Without further ado my ramblings are under the read more!
To start things off I wanna just gloss over the beginning scene with Maria and the prologue on the SS Oceana. From what I can remember nothing really changed between those two sections but honestly I think they are as close to perfect if not as perfect as they can be. They give just the right amount of information to set up some of the first main mysteries and plot threads, and I think they do amazingly at setting the tone for the game.
Next I want to talk about how East Gearen has changed, having made some small adjustments to the city to help make traveling through it all the more easier. I'm happy that the changes were minimal enough that walking through the city I still knew where everything was, so everything felt familiar but it had been different enough where seeing everything game me the same sort of wonder and comfort that it had in my first playthroughs.
I think the biggest changes being to the designs for the Gearen lab and the Gearen Help Center (I haven't made it to Sheridan yet so I'm not sure if all of the help centers have been changed to be the same sort of layout, or if they all have a unique sort of look to them). The only change I'm not the biggest fan of is the starters all being lined up in rows as shown above. It definitely makes choosing the starter easier since they're all in one space, but having them all in their own little enclosures had this quaint sort of feeling to it. Still I do think that it was a good change overall, it just doesn't pander to me specifically.
Next change that I want to point out is the ability to take on quests right when you see the npc and not needing to go to the help center. Overall I think everything about quests has been changed to be much easier and more streamlined. The little quest notification does a lot in making finding the details for quests and even just finding quests a lot easier. Overall I'm a big fan.
I also adore the additions of finding some relevant story npcs out in the world outside of big story events and areas. It just adds so much to the world and helps make the world feel more alive, like its really worth saving. Whether its just small dialogue that doesn't impact anything, a conversation that can build up on your relationships with characters, or even having a quick battle, I love these small changes.
Next on the list is the completely new content, with the most notable being Mr. Luck's tent. I'm gonna be honest I am a big fan of him, I love this character archetype of just these mischievous tricksters (probably a more common term for this trope but. y'know the sort of characters I'm probably thinking of) Honestly the whole quest introducing Prism Pokemon was very fun! Melia also explains them later on during the Goldenwood Forest section with the fight with the Prism Nidorino, but I think being able to learn about it early through the quest is fun. Also I am just a huge fan of the contracts and items you can trade in. I'm gonna save a bit though for some of the more expensive items though, at least for now. If I can find a way to grind for the Black Prisms easily I'll probably grind for that ??? contract, but I have no idea what it could be (also 999 is a lot,,,).
Next up I want to talk about the update to Venam's gym! It definitely feels a lot more her than the last one, but I do think there was a bit of charm to the idea that she didn't really get a say in what her gym was like, to the point she made a gym grave yard to help preserve those old gyms. The factory is still there and I'm gonna be honest I kinda just walked there first when it was time to challenge Venam and I was very confused-- Not complaining just a silly thing I thought I'd mention.
Next I want to talk about the Zygarde quest. I think introducing it during the main story instead of pushing it to the side in the help center was a smart move, but I did not realize who Ayuda was at first when I saw him in Venam's gym. I'm gonna be honest though, I don't see myself going out of my way to work on completing the Zygarde quest this playthrough, mostly just cause I'm not the biggest Zygarde fan, but also its just very tedious to look for all of them.
Next I wanna talk about the Goldenwood Forest Section and I just. Wow I think how it was reworked was phenomenal. First I absolutely ADORE how instead of having it be a cutscene you can help out everyone in Goldenwood made the trip feel a lot more impactful. I adored that original cutscene but honestly I think having a few quick quests to help everyone in the area made what was once gonna be one of the best days ever into the worst day ever feel a lot more... real if that makes sense, telling a story through gameplay and not just cutscenes, something Rejuvenation never had a problem with, but I'm glad they made the change here.
Also the fishing quest. Oh my goodness the fishing quest. The mechanical Lairon encounter hinting towards the future mechanical Pokemon you have to fight later on even more intense cause like. This rusty old one can give you trouble if you're not prepared for it, and and the fully functional mechanical Pokemon found later on in the game can be pretty rough, especially since there are so many of them in some sections like in the pearl route of chapter 15. That said there was something really funny to me about the idea of this fisherman having the hardest time trying to get a Magikarp haha.
Next I love the information Melia gives about the mural, how she talks about how the squares couldn't be buildings, since the Garufans hadn't been very technologically advanced. Honestly there being so many differing interpretations for the Garufans and how they handled things is so cool to me, cause I feel like its just like how people who research ancient civilizations are in real life, especially when there isn't a lot of information available. This might be partly because I have this stuff on my mind because I am taking a World Civilizations class rn for my college classes. Karen talking about in the Missing Starly quest that the Garufa were a nomadic tribe that harvested the powers from Pokemon's souls to be able to cast magic. Then in the Hidden Library quest we learn that they hated Pokemon, seeing them as vile pests. Even the idea that their technology was undeveloped is something that gets disproved later on in the story. I just find it fascinating that nobody can seem to agree on what the Garufa were like. I may be pulling at straws here though I just think its cool.
Next is the whole redesign for the Silent Grove. First I think the name itself is new but tbh I may just be forgetting and I don't feel like looking up an old playthrough to check (tbh thats just me being lazy tho). I personally was a big fan of the grove being a small secluded area, but I think the big castle builds on the lore that was first established in the Goomy Kingdom quest, that being what the world was like all the way back before the calamity decades ago, and showing that there where even more castles. Also it just makes more sense that this would lead to the secret Garufa settlement that we explore in the Pearl Route for Chapter 15. Also I love the new statue design being based on the Ranger sprite for Arceus.
Lastly I just wanted to say I think the battle with Zetta being changed to take place in a crater instead of the lake front just makes sense. It didn't make sense to me that the park had been closed off for so long after the Rift Gyrados was dealt with. I know it's because the Gyrados wasn't completely gotten rid of, but before it was just overgrown, but still manageable. This level of damage I could see needing to have a full quest line repairing.
Anyways that's it for my thoughts on Chapter 1 and the Prologue for version 13.5 of Rejuvenation. Hope you enjoyed my rambles and thank you again for reading all of them :D

So I was going about my day the other day, just thinking about what to do after work, and thought to myself, "hmm. What was that show I had started watching recently?" For some odd reason I couldn't remember what it was called or where I had started it. Or why I hadn't finished it! It was really good and had such an enticing plot… It was dark, and revolved around pirates on a ship, something about the Navy, a girl who stole someone's compass, a human trafficker who oddly fell in some sort of love with one of his victims....
Man, I could so vividly remember one scene where the main character was stealing jewelry, the bar she was in, the table with the old men around her… Why the heck can't I remember the name of the show? I can almost picture one scene about her dress… it's so clear to me that I feel like I can reach out and touch the dress. It definitely meant a lot to her and was super fancy. Why was she wearing a super fancy dress on a pirate ship?? Wait, maybe this was a different girl than the jewelry thief…
I spent way too long (several days) trying to figure out which show it was so I could go back and finish it. I was actually looking through my Continue Watching on Netflix, Viki, even Hulu trying to find this show.
Well, I found it! Drum roll, please…. 🥁
IT WASN'T A SHOW! It was Black Ocean! 😂 My brain randomly decided that your series had actually been a Netflix Original and I was obsessed. So, compliments to you because not only am I reminiscing on that series months after I finished reading it (and out of the blue with no prompting), I actually thought it was a TV show! 😭 Clearly, your writing is amazingly vivid and detailed, and obviously I was sucked right in because it wasn't a movie that I watched, it was a fic that I read!
So now that I've solved that mystery, I'm going to go re-read Black Ocean so my brain can stop obsessing! 🏴☠️ ⚔️
Oh wow, I was super invested in seeing where this was going and also loved hearing your thoughts and how you perceived their separate stories hehe.
I feel like someone saying my works could be movies feels like such a huge compliment, because when I write everything is displayed in my mind so vividly, as if I’m right there and the characters themselves as everything’s happening, so the fact that I manage to bring forth those images and actions from my mind feels really freaking nice ngl. Netflix ain’t got nothing on me LOL nah but I wouldn’t mind seeing these stories I created for Black Ocean as live action👀
Also thank you for leaving this ask, it made me extremely giddy, I love hearing stuff like this so much🫶🏻 I hope rereading them is just as enjoyable as reading them for the first time! 🥹 thank uuuuu again!! <3
