thinking about Doe and Deer in Headlights: something I noticed is that Doe calls Mikey, the Haitani’s and Takeomi all by their first name, but she calls Sanzu and Koko by their last names. How do they react when she calls them by their first names or a nickname (Haru/Haruchiyo, Haji/Hajime)?

Are they secretly pouty that she doesn’t call them by their first names or do they not notice it until one day it clicks and then they’re subtly or not so subtly bugging her to get her to say their first names? What would kick off a first name fiasco?

He’s probably been keeping it to himself but acting a bit sus, until one day someone teases him about it (prob Rindou, He’s not gonna let that chance slip by) and he explodes. Lmaooo that’s so mean 😂😂 but honestly yeah they probably would secretly think that. Although if they really disowned her, Asuka would probably celebrate after she got over the shock. Like she grew up in a society where being nobility is The Thing to be, and being disowned is Bad, so even if she doesn’t like her family much, it’s still her clan, and without that support, she’d have nothing. She’d prob be pretty devastated if it happened before she made friends with Ichigo and the others. Now she has other people she can depend on so she wouldn’t be all alone and left to fend for herself.

With Ichigo training her though, I imagine her clan would be a little less disapproving. Like they still don’t really care about her but she’d at least be less of a disappointment. Right up until they realize she doesn’t want anything to do with them anymore, which means she won’t bring them any benefits lol.

The way I characterize Asuka is that she honestly isn’t that talented, probably just a bit above average, and her lack of confidence only made everything worse. But she works really hard, and she desperately wants to be more than just the illegitimate child nobody in her clan except Shunsui cares about, wants more for her life than having some marriage dictated for her, and drive like that can be pretty powerful. She just needed someone in her corner to give her a kind word and a hand up, and in this timeline at least, Ichigo came along at just the right time.

The nightmare before christmast event is twst's first 3D disney film major implementation(or smth) right? Even if it isnt the staple CGI 3D of modern disney, I wonder if we would ever get events of something like frozen or tangled?? Since they still retain the classic disney vibes thats right up twst alley, especially the latter. Tho hope they went through the old stuffs that isnt as popular as classics but still good first 🙏, maybe even the thief and the cobbler film if u know, although its probs more unlikely than say frozen/tangled cuz it might have legal right issues 😔(cmiiw). I believe so, yes? I mean, it’s 3D in the sense that it’s stop motion animation, not that it’s actually 3D animated, but I get what you were trying to communicate. If Twst is able to twist films that are not traditionally animated, then it’s for sure possible for them to eventually twist later CGI animated films.

Sitch and even the other films that appeared in previous Halloween events were all 2D animated works. There have been references to live action projects before (like how the original Snow White movie is being remade all these years later in-universe), but I think Lost in the Book with Nightmare Before Christmas is Twst’s first interpretation of a “3D” (three dimensional, not 3D or CGI animated) Disney work.

I do think it’s possible for Twst to integrate more of the 3D era films down the line, but I feel like the focus will still be primarily on older animated ones. (It would be interesting if they transitioned into characters twisted from the 3D era to show the evolution of Disney’s animation from their 2D classics/roots!) They’ve still got so many untapped source materials to pull from!! I don’t believe the implementation of those would be that different from what we’ve already seen in worldbuilding details and maybe introducing 1-2 twisted versions of the movie’s characters. They might do more Lost in the Books too, but 💦 I personally don’t like the concept of them 😂 and found the translation of 3D designs to live 2D very uncanny valley.

… Isn’t The Thief and the Cobbler Warner Bros and not Disney? 😭 I don’t think Twst intends to do collabs in the game with anything Disney doesn’t personally own.

I was looking around the myth of Sisyphus and idk it’s ok if you could analyze his name and his brother’s Salmoneus a bit? I searched it up on Wikipedia so i do not know if the brother’s name is correct 😅

Of course let's see this is challenging, especially the latter hahaha 😆 but let's see.

For Sisyphus (Σίσυφος) Liddell seems to be speaking of the word σοφός (sofós) which means "wise" in Greek. The word seems to be depriving, according to him, from Aeolic Greek old dialect that uses Υ instead of Ο thus writing Σίσυφος instead of Σίσοφος so he says in his entry "prob. a redupl. from σοφός" in his entry. He supports his claim by citing the Iliad that names Sisyphus as "the craftiest of men"

Now I believe you also refer to a cited alternative to be coming from σίσυς (sìsys) which stands for "goat skin" by Gruppe. It could be a possible scenario as well although I am not aware of Sisyphus being linked to a myth involving a goat (see for example Aegisthus) so I am not entirely sure how this connects him to the name but yeah both are to the table. If you use Homer as a starting point I guess the first one seems more likely.

Now Salmoneus (Σαλμονεύς) is a tricky one hahaha 😆 honestly I went down a rabbit hole of names and meanings from Greek till ancient Hebrew like Salmos or Solomon (which deprives from shalom which means "peace" in hebrew) and some Turkish roots which are known that they had loaned words from greek and of course vise-versa (for example in modern day Greek we do use the term from Turkish σαλματζής -> salmantzís which means roughly "a guy that runs from one lady to another" or someone who is irresponsible)

hahaha 😆 😂 the closest thing I can find to it (and take it with a small grain of salt) comes, ironically, from the name of salmon fish! 😄 and bear with me for one second haha.

The name "salmon" comes from various roots including "salmo" which seems to deprive from the verb "salire" which means "to leap" or "to climb". That on its own has the root to the adjective "salient" which has unclear roots but one of them seems to be the verb "ἅλλομαι" (állomae with the accent to the front also giving the ancient greek sound hállomae) which also means "to leap" or "to ascend" or "to climb"

So lo and behold my very first etymological entry in this world hahaha 😆 to play the scientist! "Salmoneus" potentially comes from "ἅλλομαι" which means "to climb" or "to ascend"

Not pulling punches here: Zirk is evil. He lets fear and selfishness run his life, resulting in the suffering of others. He has a small handful of people he gives a shit about, but I don't think that redeems him. Almost all “good” things he does are still motivated by selfish intentions.

Zirk has been thru some shit. He didn't turn into the shitty little monster he is because his life was rainbows and sunshine. I would say, consistently ending up as the lowest rung on the social ladder in any group he was part of, and all of the abuses that entailed (for example, his teeth tattoos), were collectively his “worst injury”.

49. What item(s) do they always have on their person?

His glasses! Boy is blind as a bat (one of the things, along with his smaller/delicate stature, that made him a target for most of his life). Finding nice, VATS-connected spectacles when he was looting Vault 111 a couple years ago was a life-changer for him.

This is a cool question 🤔 I would say up until very recently, present-oriented, because he was constantly scrounging around for his next meal or hit. This is not a task he enjoys doing, so he often leaves the minutiae to Gage 💕

The how/where is actually a similar question for him!! He usually falls asleep wherever he can (bed, sleeping bag, large pile of soft dirt), but often around 2-3am, he tends toward night terrors, and often goes sleepwalking/crawling into the nearest small, enclosed space. He knows he does this, so he rarely ever goes to sleep nearby another person. what's one of your pet peeves when reading fics? mine is when people use 'orbs' instead of just saying eyes 😮‍💨

Omg are you me 😂 Although I've noticed a dramatic dip in the use of orbs over the years... So much so that I wonder if I'd respond differently now?? Like this wave of nostalgia for the mid-aughts.

Persistent overuse of epithets is prob the issue I run into most these days. I understand why people feel the need, especially when writing a scene with too many characters who use the same pronouns, or describing complex interactions where you have to clarify who is doing what, but a clunky epithet can really take me out of a scene as a reader. Other people have explained better than I can, but if you're in a particular character's POV who knows the person well, suddenly referring to them as "the brunette" ("the blond man," "the tall girl," etc) is something I find super jarring.

And I'm saying all that as someone who does use epithets pretty freely! But almost always for comic effect or because it suits the situation/character voice (like a character sarcastically referring to someone as "the resident genius" or something). They're purposeful, and not just there to avoid repeating a pronoun or name.

Other than that, it's mostly formatting peeves? Massive spaces between paragraphs I can only tolerate for short fics. Idk why but it's fatiguing to the eyes to leap the chasms of white 🤷🏻

What made you ship it?

so... I have a very specific list of qualities I look for when it comes to my favorite male characters. And Grimmjow fit them all 😂💕

When I first watched Bleach the only thing I shipped was IchiRuki, bc naturally that was the only way to go for me tbh, but then Grimm appeared and I was obsessed. When it comes to otps for me, first I find a fave character, then I consider the possible pairings. Not any other way. And with Grimmjow... well the only option for me was Ichigo tbh.

Not to discredit any other Grimmjow ships, I've done a few of them myself, but with how passionately these two throw themselves at each other I truly couldn't look any other way. Lol

So tldr; Grimmjow's got slut potential and I dig that, and they're too into each other for me not to see "gay" plastered all over them 💫

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

Hmmm 🤔maybe how inherently feral it is, canon-wise. Also how harmonious their overall designs are together, there's nothing nicer than a pair that looks good together, at least as an artist. Also how easy they are (for me at least) to write/draw; I have a hard time focusing on one thing for long enough to get good at things (hence the many AUs lol!) so for me to have a ship I draw constantly for more than four years now... is truly astounding lmao. They helped me grow soooo much so they hold a dear dear place in my heart just bc of that alone.

And because of that last one: how easy it is to apply AUs to themmmm ;w;<33333 I can legit think of anything and make an AU out of it and not struggle too much to find the perfect place for them in it.

And also,, sort of fave sort of least fave- that it's not an overly popular ship in general (ik it's popular in the Bleach fandom itself, but rather; not popular like a ship from BNHA or JJK). Why; bc I get to have my quiet space where I draw all the ideas I want and yet have had verY few people throw insults at me for some of my darker stuff 😂 Bigger fandoms I've interacted with (as a viewer mostly) have had issues popping up left and right, people getting upset over dumb shit and letting that grow to huge proportions, "antis" everywhere... yeahhhh no thanks 😖

but also-- it gets verY quiet at times specially for someone who's so picky. Like, if I could find a fandom space like the exclusive bottom Bakugo enthusiasts I followed on twt (and even bought a whole zine about) but for GriMMJOW??? WOOF😭💕 so yeah,,, love-hate situation on this last bit lmaooo

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

A few 😂😭 everyone who's followed my art for a certain amount of time can probs tell how the 'tism really affects how I enjoy ships lmaoooo I have to enjoy them a very specific certain way so... that means I don't partake at all on a good few of the popular tropes for the ship. Some I can think of rn; damsel-in-distress!Ichigo, overly hurtful!Grimm (although this one is more old fandom I think 🤔? I remember, in a lot of fics back then, Grimmjow was portrayed a lot as this violent rapist adgdfddfdff not for me lmaoo), ofc top!Grimm, Grimmjow acting all macho relationship wise, and too much angst (I think this ship (and Ichigo in general lets be honest) can call for a lot of angst in fic so I totally get it- but ...meh, if it's not romaticized/sexualized angst, idc for it adgdfgf I don't like it when they actually suffer 😭)

OOH OH! ALSO --- making them OOC in AUs CAN be great actually (to me at least). I know a lot of people (not just here, but in any ship/fandom/etc) don't love OOC characterizations of their fave characters/ships (hence why it's a tag we use tbh) but I personally love that at times??? I won't do it all the time and all over the place... but AUs where there's space to make Grimm less violent? or Ichigo less friendly/loving??? While still within their canon character potentials--- hecC yes. >:)ccc

Also ofc; that I wish it was still common to tag ships as top-bottom like it is with HoEn/EnHo (bnha), VK/KV /trigun, KRBK/BKKR (bnha) etc or at least tag it some other way along the ship.... it would be sO much easier to filter out stuff i don't want to see instead of having to mute/block a whole person I would still love to see stuff from.

Just posted the first page of my prequel comic! And where to find it. Very excited to show concept drawings and all that after it’s done. I’ve decided half way through the prequel comic I’ll prob do both Jaya and the rest of the prequel at the same time, (if it’s a possibility).

I posted early because I was bored didn’t want to wait till tomorrow 😂 maybe sundays will be my dates now, we’ll see. I have the next one done early too, so if I can get ahead I can work on both comics at once. I don’t want people to get sick of the prequel, (although, personally I like this one a little more)

I don’t think Liam‘s got this awful personality that people make him out to be yeah he’s a bit hotheaded and probs has a bit of an ego but which drivers don’t 😂 he only had a few races to try and make a mark and he went full send. He went about a few things the wrong way but I don’t think you can completely tarnish him and write him off from that.

Although I will say, I don’t know why you’d even want to be Max’s teammate because it’s not gonna end up well for you 😭

Well we don’t know him as a person, right, so it’s not like writing him off as a human being. He could be a real sweetheart in his private life and a joy to work with, none of us can judge that.

But I don’t like his professional persona this year. Don’t like the way he talked about the Danny situation on podcasts, don’t like the middle finger to Checo and getting in his way, don’t like the way he started a thing with Alonso and then just dragged it, don’t like that he started the rumours about Daniel being replaced early in the year. Just not good vibes for me. Every driver has an ego but how you manage that ego is what makes you likeable or not in my book. The ego is necessary, acting like a twat is optional.

But again, I don’t know the guy personally so I’m not going to sit there and be like oh I think he’s like xyz as a person.

I don’t think he will survive Max. I think Max needs an older driver who’s happy to be there and do his job to sit behind. This whole “young guy trying to make a name for himself” isn’t going to work, because what name are you going to make for yourself next to Max?
