Summary:
Christmas, 1909.
Alan was doing his level best to hide it, but his teeth were chattering. Jack could hear it like typewriter keys. He had his usual cap pulled down tight on his head, and a scarf that was clearly homemade tucked over his chin, so that his beautiful, insolent expression was all Jack could see of him. He looked like the world’s most indignant owl, and Jack had the ludicrous desire both to laugh and to become every branch on every tree, that he might perch upon.
He settled for draping his arms over Alan’s shoulders and pulling him into his chest. Far more sensible.
“Comfortable, your lordship?” Alan mocked, coat-muffled, as Jack’s cheek rested against the rough wool of his cap.
“Hardly. I’m liable to develop a wretched crick in my neck.”

Before and After......
Blaize Pedro Plaza, South Carolina inmate 393171, born 2002, incarceration intake February 2024 at age 21, scheduled for release December 2051
Murder
In February 2024, a court determined that. a man will spend the next three decades behind bars after pleading guilty to shooting a man and leaving him for dead along a roadside in Newberry County.
Blaize Pedro Plaza, 21, of Whitmire, pleaded guilty at the Laurens County Courthouse to a charge of murder. Circuit Judge Frank Addy Jr. then sentenced Plaza to 30 years in prison. Under South Carolina law, sentences for murder must be served day-for-day, with no possibility of parole or early release. Plaza’s trial was scheduled to go forward in the upcoming week.
Just a few days before Christmas in 2021, Plaza and his girlfriend were riding with the victim, 24-year-old Jamal Alston, in the early morning hours when an argument ensued. Alston pulled the vehicle over alongside Highway 66 in the Whitmire area of Newberry County to allow Plaza to use the restroom. At some point during that stop, Plaza shot Alston five times with a 9 mm pistol before fleeing the scene in Alston’s vehicle, leaving Alston gravely wounded on the side of the road.
A passing motorist spotted Alston and contacted authorities for help. About the same time, a vehicle fire was reported in Union County. The vehicle belonged to Alston. Investigators quickly developed Plaza as a suspect and within 24 hours they located and interviewed both Plaza and his girlfriend. Plaza confessed to the crime and his story was corroborated by his girlfriend.

A convicted murderer escaped from custody Tuesday morning while being transported to a medical appointment at a North Carolina hospital, the sheriff's office said.
Ramone Alston, 30, broke away from a corrections officer while being escorted to UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, according to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
"He had freed himself from leg restraints and, still in handcuffs, jumped out and ran into adjacent woods," the department said in a statement.
He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, brown pants and white New Balance sneakers, as well as handcuffs connected to a waist chain, officials said.
As of late Tuesday afternoon, Alston's whereabouts were still unknown.
Officials are asking the public to immediately call 911 if they see him and warning them not to approach him.
"He’s unpredictable -- we don’t know what he’s going to do, so he should certainly probably be considered dangerous," Keith Acree, a spokesperson for the Department of Adult Correction, said in a press briefing. "People make rash decisions at a time like this; he’s already made one very large rash decision this morning."MORE: 2 fugitive murder suspects who escaped Mississippi jail caught following manhunt
The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is offering a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the capture of Alston.
Alston was convicted of shooting and killing a 1-year-old girl on Christmas Day in 2015. He is serving a life sentence.
The infant victim, Maleah Williams, had been playing outside with her Christmas toys when she was struck by gunfire, her mother previously told Raleigh ABC station WTVD.

Most Awful Christmas Ever
One year, our neighbors, the Awfuls, made sure their parents had the most awful Christmas ever.  Their name was really Alston, but Awfuls suited them so much better. Like the rest of us, they couldn’t wait for Christmas.  As always, they starting finding their presents about a week before Christmas.  Every day one of them showed up with something new.  One day, Froggy had a brand new basketball. …

Summary:
Christmas, 1909.
Before they’d even come in view of the drawing room, a voice like the first burn of whiskey drawled through the door, “Have you found a beggar out wandering in the snow?”
“Nah, Ghost of Christmas Present, me. Come to talk you into giving all your wealth and worldly possessions to the working man.”
Alan took advantage of Jack’s seated lounging to stand over him and savour the novelty of glaring down at him, for a change. Going by the easy smirk on that damn mouth when he raised his chin, Jack enjoyed it too.

Hawkeye #101 “Never Meet Your Heroes”
Kate Bishop, expert archer and martial artist, heads back to New York for Christmas and meets her mom's sketchy fiancee. Meanwhile, Clint Barton catches a musical with his kids.
Tumblr media
After the Battle of New York, Kate attends her father’s funeral at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta and asks her mother for a bow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the present day (aka 2025), Kate causes a bit of trouble at university on a dare from her archery teammates. While the clocktower is fake, the building she scales is Buttrick Hall at Agnes Scott College and the rooftop she can be seen standing atop is the nearby Alston Campus Center.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Clint is attending a performance of Rogers the Musical with his children at The Fox Theatre and gets asked for a selfie in the bathroom.
Tumblr media
He heads outside for some air an is now at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City where his daughter Lila comes to check on him.
Tumblr media
Kate arrives back in NYC at Grand Central Terminal and crosses the street to Pershing Square Plaza while chatting with her mom on the phone.
Tumblr media
She goes to visit her mother at the Bishop penthouse at 480 Park Avenue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At her mother’s request, Kate attends a charity gala being held at the Palace Hotel and while outside getting some air she spots a one-eyed dog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inside the gala, filmed at The St. Regis Atlanta, Kate learns about her mother’s engagement from Armand III and then spots her mother getting into a heated argument with him in a side room.
Tumblr media
After a fight in the wine cellar, Kate emerges from the alley next to the Hunt Parking Garage in downtown Atlanta to see the dog from earlier attacking one of the goons.
Tumblr media
After taking Pizza Dog back to her apartment, Kate sneaks into Armand III’s home to look for clues. The interior of this home is the historic Rhodes Hall.
Tumblr media
After finding Armand III’s body and fleeing, Kate is accosted by the Tracksuit Mafia at the corner of Broad & Poplar Streets.
Tumblr media
Clint drags Kate away from the fight to an alley between Cone & Fairlie and removes her mask.
I still need to find the exterior of Armand III’s house and the Chinese restaurant.

@marimelwrites closed starter for caleb + madeleine
His annual friendsgiving feast had gone off without a hitch, in his oh so humble opinion. The tradition was a point of pride for Caleb Warren. His little collection of misfit toys that he’d managed to gather up from around Alston was all the family the solitary man needed - the only thing missing this year was Cora, who was off somewhere in the wilds of Canada, with no plans to be back until ‘Maybe around Christmas, Cal, we’ll see’.   After days had been spent prepping, cooking, working hard over a hot stove, the meal was all wrapped up, and he’d sent everyone out to the firepit in the backyard where coolers of beer and s’more’s materials waited for them. He was nothing if not the host with the most, even if his most wasn’t all that fancy. Veering into the kitchen, he was about to head out himself when he saw Madeleine there, Roo (who happened to love his vet, unlike most dogs), sitting at her side, hoping for scraps to drop his way.   “You ain’t gotta do all that, y’know?” He couldn’t remember the last time he’d wandered into his own kitchen and found someone else scraping off dishes. “The dishes’ll wait, go on and head out to the yard.”
