MCD!!! MY TIME HAS COME OMG, ok so:

(Ok this got longer than I wanted and I even learned NEW things thanks to the wiki (we love that) so I kept it simple above the cut and went crazy below it with like the whole god plot. Sorry if this is more than you wanted)

In MCD there are 6 god like figures called the "Divine warriors" Irene the Matron, Enki the Keeper, Esmund the Protector, Shad the Destroyer, Menphia the Fury, and Kul'zak the Wanderer.

Irene the Matron was an advocate for peace and kindness, often using her magicks to heal people and make crops grow. She helped end The War of the Magi and the Wyvern Human War, as well establish the current system of government in the Ru'aun region. She has no biological descendants in the "modern age" of MCD.

Esmund the Protector was a shield for good, often fighting beside Irene and protecting her. His descendants in the "modern age" of MCD are the Ro'meaves.

Enki the Keeper was the knowledge keeper of the Divine Warriors. He had a deep interest in knowledge and learning more about the world. His descendant in the "modern age" of MCD is Travis.

Shad the Destroyer was a Divine Warrior of chaos. He and Irene were often at odds and eventually this led to a large conflict between Shad and the other Divine warriors where he ascended and became The Shadow Lord. After being defeated his soul was sealed away in the Nether where he began to create the Shadow Army. An army of reborn soldiers whose sole purpose is to bring him back to life. His descendant in the "modern age" of MCD is Aaron of Falcon Claw.

We don't know a lot about Menphia or Kul'zak but they are also god like figures, Menphia specifically having ties to a different region in the world.

Symbols of the Divine Warriors

Irene is goddess we learn the most about because the story is mostly set in her region (each divine warrior has a main region they are worshiped in). She was a kind and caring woman who helped whoever she could, aiding in wars, but also knew when to step aside and let the humans fight their own battles. Irene created the relics to give to the divine warriors granting them immortality through reincarnation.

Irene and Shad had feelings for one another despite their differences: Irene a champion of peace and light, and Shad a champion of chaos and darkness. We find out later in a different series set centuries after MCD (MyStreet) that Irene and Shad had a daughter, and Irene used something called the Celestial Cannon to turn their daughter into what would become Shad's relic. Giving it to him and having him use it without knowing where it came from. Allegedly doing the same to other friends and family. Learning this is what caused Shad to rebel and started the many conflicts between Irene and Shad. Irene would put Shad in different dimensions to keep him contained, though he learned to break out of them earning the title of "Realm Breaker".

All of the divine warriors were immortal, but Irene was the only one who did not go through the process of reincarnation, causing her to see all of her friends die over and over again. On top of this Esmund and Shad both had romantic feelings for her causing them to fight often. Due to both of these factors, the constant fighting and living for hundreds of years, caused Irene to disconnect and she lost the ability to feel love or empathy. Despite this she continued to do good for the world even though she couldn't love the people who loved her back.

Enki, Esmund and Kul'zak together decided that if Shad was destroyed then all of the evil in the world would be gone, so Irene would be able to feel emotions again. Shad learned of this and lost all reason becoming the entity known as the Shadow Lord. Irene created one final dimension, the Irene Dimension, to fight him. The fight lasted ages, but eventually the other 5 divine warriors were able to split his relic (The item that made him divine warrior and an immortal) into five pieces and scattered them across the world, and trapping his soul in the nether. This is nothing to help Irene feel emotions again. She wanted to mourn Shad but she couldn't, and eventually the other warriors died leaving her alone.

She went to one of her friends, a witch named Hyria, and told her she was going into a slumber in the Irene Dimension so she could learn how to feel again. She locked away her memories and took away her powers putting them in a relic in the Irene Dimension, giving Hyria a staff saying "When it glows, take it somewhere I can be awoke from my slumber."

Small note on the Irene dimension: For every minute in the Irene dimension 1 year passes in the overworld

That's the over arching plot/backstory of the gods though that much isn't known by the ordinary person. For most worshipers of Irene she is simply a kind figure who helps those in need.

Small extra thing on Enki that I didn't know where else to put: He and Irene we very close friends and Enki even developed feelings for Irene, but never told her, only saying so in a hidden message he placed behind a magic barrier that could only be accessed if someone connected to the Warriors was present. In these same messages he apologized to her for what he did to Shad.

i've been in multiple zines in the past and have friends whove been in more i know how theyre run

monetarily id only price the zines enough to split even, to avoid unfairness (if its a charity thing, i'd be the only one getting a tax cut for a big donation. BUT if enough people want it to be a charity thing, i can still do that)

i have a friend whos modded many zines so ive got help wrt the organizing

itll be art and fics and depending on if yall want, merch

i just remembered being in the bnha fandom and the zine scene there and thought, why not try? it'd be fun! i'd keep the deadlines long so theres little pressure and id do my best not to schedule deadlines near major holidays or things like finals week

hiya! so I wouldn't mind being a mod for a zine; I actually am a writing mod for the Dreamoire zine right now and that's been a blast. i wouldn't say that I have the capacity to be a main mod for a zine though, so honestly it really really depends on what the zine would be looking for.

in terms of concept, i think that sounds neat! I will say that I'm not as avidly into the DSMP anymore, so i have no intentions of writing for a DSMP zine any time soon (or really being a contributor on a zine at all, i think i want to fcus on writing some independent stuff rn) but! i'm down to talk about it :]

TLDR i'm not uninterested but am probably not the right person to be asking, we can talk about it though! also that idea sounds dope :>

OH another thing I want to do more next year is join more free zines/projects like that. like I've found the most enjoyment with those bc they feel lower pressure than the for-profit ones, which is very good for how nervous I get otherwise ajkdhsfkj. i love a small project
