ball mercedes is finished!!!! finally!!! i had a lot of fun drawing her lol, she’s also the first girl i’ve posted a drawing of on my tumblr so uhhhh yay for breaking the glass ceiling i guess???? i was having a lot of trouble with what directions to take her in but @astralsoap sent me a lot of rlly useful historical references and stuff about like the style influences in 3H. @pathetic-gamer ‘s series on fashion in fodlan was a particularly good read and i recommend it for anyone interested in 3H’s costume designs :3

all of that being said. i really didn’t take very much concrete inspiration from the references LMAO i was struggling with whether or not mercie would have like a super fashionable dress and i actually decided that she wouldn’t. i don’t think she would have the means to get smth super cute and trendy for the ball, and what i actually envisioned is that this is a dress that was given to her by her mother that she altered by cutting the sleeves off and adding the sheer bit at the top to make it her own. she DID take her hair out of its ponytail and tease it a bit bc i just find her fluffy hair so cute and pretty and i wanna see more of it all of the time. also idk how clear it is with the shape of her eyes but she is wearing eyeshadow lol

in my mind, mercie was more concerned with getting her friends prettied up for the ball than herself lol. she went dress shopping with annette and ingrid (against the latter’s will) and she helped them with their hair and makeup. she also did dedue’s hair and managed to get felix to stop bitching and let her do his also bc like. how could she resist those long locks.

i think mercedes loved the ball lol it’s exactly her vibe. she probably went to bed early after some dancing but i like to think she had a nice night.

"Hey Matt...?" you linger, pulling away from his side, gazing over him. 

"Mhm, sweetheart?" he hums quietly, a slight twitch of concern spreads across his face. 

"Can I ask you something?" 

"Of course," he grins earnestly, feeling a moment of calm when he notices your heart's steady tempo. "What's on your mind?"

"Your glasses... why do you wear them at home?" you ask carefully.

"I don't know... I just always have. I suppose they hide my eyes," he shrugs simply before kissing your shoulder. 

"Hide your eyes?" you repeat, specks of confusion littering your tone. "Why would you want to hide them? They're beautiful," 

He lowly chuckles before turning from your admiration-filled gaze. "No," he says slowly, seeming as though he is embarrassed or uncomfortable.

"Matt... I think you have the prettiest eyes, like ever,"

"Come on now," he awkwardly chuckles, "you're just saying that,"

"Nah-uh, they're beautiful, Matt... can I?" you sweetly question, extending your hands toward the frames of his glasses. Noticing his nod, you slowly remove them. "Whoa, so pretty," you say enthusiastically, watching his grin widen. "Can I put them on?" you question, even though they were halfway over your head.

"What are they like? What'd you see?" he cutely asks, leaning into your side.

"I see the world on fire," you playfully whisper, earning a light tap on the arm from the unimpressed man beside you. "Sorry, sorry, sorry," you laugh, kissing his cheek apologetically. "I'm a really good lawyer. Okay, that was the last one," throwing your head back as you cackle, clearly having too much fun. "I'm just pulling your leg... but I'm being deadly serious here, alright Matthew. You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen."

He grins coyly, hiding his face between your shoulder and ear, softly chuckling into your skin. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay," he says, slight dismissal in his cadence. "You can play pretend lawyer for a little longer."

i updated my marble cats designs :3

designs i was working off of are here as you can see, they didnt change a whole lot, but i feel theres a lot of improvement!

with jaysight, i wanted to mimic the pattern of a bluejay's feathers, so you'll see some of that with the breaks between the darker blues and his lighter fur. i also changed his suffix to be 'sight' as a reference to his filming the series and all that, and i think im gonna stick with this name for him now, bc this is the third or fourth change ive made to it LOL

masktuft has not had his name changed once, i struck instant gold there and im not letting anybody forget it. generally i just cleaned up his look, made the colors less intense and stripey. hes not a stripey boy, thats alex. i thought the points on his tail and paws to match the face looked nice, hes sort of a reverse siamese lol. and of course hes got some facial markings that mimic the eyes, lips, and eyebrows of his mask.

hornetstripe is another that has not had his name changes ever. its too good for him, i love it lol. unlike with tim's, i actually added more detail to alex's, rather than taking away. mainly because i wanted to work the white markings on his face into more of his design, and ive been really into the look of chimera patterns on torties and tabbys, so i incorporated some of that in. the markings around his eyes are sort of meant to resemble glasses lol, but he has a darker stripe going down thats based off of cheetahs eye markings, and i just felt like that was a good representation of him always in fight or flight, always running away. plus its just cute lol

hawkprowl got a name change, but i like this one a lot better. it feels snappier and sharper. his dark paws and dark face are obviously a reference to his hoody gloves and hoody mask, with the dark amber/red eyes to go with it. i made his bangs droopier too to look like the top part of his hoodie covering his face. overall, like tim, he did not change very much. just a few things here and there :3

im gonna do the other four characters from that original post next, along with the operator. so be on the look out for that!!

ok so here is my strawberry shortcake redesign i hated trying to draw her hat accurately so i decided on a beret, Once i figured that out i eventually decided on a chef/waitress theme for her

i didn’t change anything about her personality bc she is perfect and i gave her leaf earrings too

i took most of my inspiration from her 07’ and 09’ designs bc I’m more of a fan when she had pink hair over ginger/red hair + slightly unpopular opinion 07’ is my favorite version of her hair!

• Strawberry & her friends are teenagers in my redesigns (15-18 and shes 17)

• Strawberry has more prominent freckles and slightly tanner skin

• i hc her to be well duh a lesbian & shes dating orange blossom btw

• if she didn’t live in strawberry land i would have hc her to be Irish

so this is my bluberry muffin redesign, i took her smarter/levelheaded personality from the 09’ version and ran with it idk what i did for her!!

blueberry never stuck out to me with her design imo she is the plainest in the whole SS cast especially her 09’ design so this was a challenge for me + i hated the fact that her hair was straight too in 09’ who tf is that😕

i decided to make her the “erm actually🤓” nerd character with a librarian theme

I mixed the dot & button thing from her 03’ version and the stitching details from 09’ in her design i think it looks cute and i added pink into her color scheme from the 2021 version btw

also her glasses look like blueberries that was unintentionally genius of me + i think i did pretty good with what little i was working with

• blueberry is 16 years old

• she is plus sized & has braces

Ramuda Headcanons!!

- bisexual trans woman. shes socially transitioned but obvi cant medically transition cause of chuohku stuff

-her appearance is the only thing she's really confident in; she knows shes cute and she owns it. fashion and makeup are like the only two things she has full control over, so she has all kinds of fun with them

-as her appearance is all shes confident in, she thinks its all people can ever like about her. shes kinda sentenced herself to only ever be in sexual relationships bc she doesnt think shes good for anything more; all she has to offer is her body. so, she pushes all romantic feelings down, trying her hardest to never get close with anyone in that way

-adding on to previous point, her aversion to romance is only exacerbated by her deep hatred of herself. she sees herself as a monster, only capable of hurting anyone who gets close to her. people get hurt when they know the real her, which is why she pushes her cutesy facade so hard. if they never know the real her, theyll never get hurt. her cutesy act also serves as a way to distance herself from the harsh reality of her existence

-one of the few characters whos appearance i dont really change. she just gets some light freckles cause yeah👍 theyre a cloning error, none of the other clones have them. ik i usually draw her with them, but ifeel she typically covers them with makeup bc shes insecure abt them (smth smth physical reminder of her inferiority smth smth)

-over time, as her whole body has deteriorated, her vision has gone to shit. almost always wears contacts to try to hide it. she only ever wears glasses when shes working or when shes around people she trusts (basically just dice & gentaro)

-doesnt know a lot of "common knowledge" or how to do a lot of basic tasks since no one ever bothered to teach her how. surprise surprise, this is something shes also very insecure abt!! along with her lack of a fuckton of life experiences, it makes her feel significantly less human. refuses to ask for help with aforementioned basic tasks as it makes her feel stupid & shes too embarrassed to ask for help

-as her lollipop supply runs out, she finds herself turning to smoking more and more. even though its definitely not doing her health any favors, the oral fixation helps her feel better.

-her and hifumi r good friends!! they obvi cant hang out in person cause. girl. but they text & call fairly often!! occasionally, theyll hang out in person, but since fumis in host mode its just. not the same

-she gets STUPID jealous STUPID easily. seeing gendice happy together all the time drives her insane, she desperately wants to have what they have. theyve all known eachother for the same amount of time, so why not her? why dont they want to date her? (even though they do want her & its all just ramuda not allowing herself to be happy)

-has multiple ear piercings!! she likes wearing all kinds of fun earrings. usually has little heart studs in her lobes & small hoops in her other piercings

-talks EVERYONE she knows into allowing her to give them makeovers. gendice have lost count of the amount of times ramuda has attacked them with beauty products...

-agonizing deterioration aside, clone bodies just SUCK. she sunburns super easily, wounds take forever to heal & always scar, hair doesnt grow at all, most medicines dont interact with her immune system well at all, nails break easily; girlie was born with glass bones and paper skin. a lot got fucked up in the cloning process, especially in ramudas case since she was the first & had some silly mishaps

-loves animals!! and animals tend to love her... she kinda relates to them in a way, yaknow? since shes treated like shes subhuman, she can really empathize with them. only reason she doesnt own a cat is cause she doesnt want to leave it without an owner when she, inevitably, dies soon

Soo the Story (myb its long lol)

Today Oliver woke up first he was sooooo excited for the day. He immediately opened up his advent calendar ad. He got a cute little dog plushie. He was very happy. He ran into charlie‘s room and opened up the curtains

Charlie woke up and was soooo tired but Oliver was on him jumping up and down and didn’t stop. So Charlie woke up in his really cute Christmas PJ and he went down to eat something with Oliver

In the Meantime in tori‘s room:

Tori woke up to the doorbell. She slowly walked to the door and was mad that charlie didn’t open it. She opened it and Michael was there. He brought her a present and they put the present underneath the tree.

Michael stayed a bit and palyied mario kart with them. At approximately 4:00 o’clock PM Charlie decked the table for his family and Nick because he is invited to.

Nick came in a cute Christmas Sweater and they ate ( Winzerfondue ) haha the person whos reading that is probably like wtf is that. Its a food that we eat at Christmas its like meat that you put in like a special liquid just google it haha. I know swiss people are strange lol myself.

So after they ate they opened presents. Charlie got a beautiful teacup from Nick and he was really happy because it had a Picture of them on it. Oliver got a new game for his nintendo switch. Tori got a cute little glass for her lemonade from michael. They opened a few other presents and then they went to beeddd.

i know nothing about im@s riamu it just... felt right to me to make the oc based on her ig? idk anyway here we go

so this riamu is a mad scientist girly who is absolutely Not professional enough for her job! she never follows lab safety precautions, none of her experiments are legal, she constantly causes explosions or invents a new virus on accident or creates deadly military weapons and she's an absolute liability to the corporation she works for. not that they can fire her though :) she's too valuable to them :) and bad things will happen if they fire her :)

not only that but she's also a nightmare to be around

she has very volatile and explosive mood swings and sometimes lies about shit for fun and makes people vaguely uncomfortable and she kiiinddd offf has a god complex?? but come on she's just a silly hyper girly :3 she's not really mean to people she's just .... a lot to handle and overwhelming

riamu is obsessed with presenting herself in a certain way, rn she's trying to present herself as a quirky and cutesy anime girl. she dyed her hair to stand out more and she dresses up in jfashion... even when she's at work. its obvious she forces herself to behave differently too. she forces herself to be outspoken, bubbly, charismatic, and basically just super duper different. she wants to stand out and make an impression on people's minds and god she does it so well. her behavior gets on people's nerves but lots of people end up being intrigued and drawn to her even tho they dislike her. so instead of disliking her they end up loving her too

speaking of love riamu is . absolutely desperate for love but she can't keep a relationship to save her life. instead she chases after unattainable beings that she can't even date, including:

1. the cute lady who recently gained superpowers and goes around and fights crime (i inserted this character bc i thought it would be funny to make this a universe with like stereotypical superheroes and villains and shit). riamu is very obsessed with her and claims that the superhero is in love with her too but that's... really not how it is. riamu keeps a collection of "proofs" proving the superhero reciprocates her feelings and she's really just reaching so hard man. the superhero avoids fighting riamu and battling her because any interaction or confrontation at all will just enforce riamu's beliefs that they're in love

2. an AI system created by one of her co-workers that's meant to help around the laboratory. riamu please stop trying to seduce the lab's AI and turn it evil. it cannot feel any type of attraction and it would be largely inconvenient if it attempted to commit omnicide against humans and the whole planet

3. speaking of AIs that commit omnicide riamu also has a fictional crush on AM from i have no mouth and i must scream.

that's all i have to say for now about riamu. extra fun facts about her:

- she permanently cured her own bad eyesight on her own but she still wears glasses as an accessory

- she wears an eyepatch sometimes but everyone knows damn well she doesn't need one

- some comments her co-workers have made about her: "i don't like thinking about her." "she's fun but... you really can't take her anywhere." "id say she'd be benefited by therapy but nothing can help her anymore." "she owes the corp 10 zillion dollars" "i think everyone should be less critical of her" "the other day she tried to stab everyone in the room and then herself. this isn't the first time this happened." You run a lemonade stand and she's your only customer!! (Mainly bc Blueberry girl is a grown woman and Zesty is the only person who'd buy from a lemonade stand run by an adult, Something BG knows bc this is meant to be a romantic gesture)

The timer starts when you enter the lemonade room

But she doesn't tell you directly how she wants it made, so you have to rely on text clues!!!

Some clues for her order would be

Cute Fancy or silly to describe the straw color she wants

Strong to mild to describe the amount of lemon

She'll also ask for ice sometimes

She tells you the amount so this one's easier than the other but it mainly acts as a time waster since you have to switch rooms : /

You can enter the lemonade room from the stand, but not the freezer : /

and although you can enter lemonade stand from the freezer, the lemonade won't have the ice added so points knocked off

Sugar points -/6

Straw points -/3

You lose points for messing up the amount of stuff

For example: If she orders 2 lemon and you give her all 6

4 points will be deducted

thinking about the allay minecraft mob. i didn't vote for it back then because it didn't feel very "minecraft-y", but i still like it a lot.

thinking about revivebur with an allay hybrid s/o who is constantly collecting tiny trinkets and handing them to him--- making them into pins for his sweater and jacket (so he can cover up the stitches/scar, if you hc him to have that), tying them into his hair or around his wrists, adding them to his glasses, slipping them into his pockets.

it can be marbles, ribbons of old colorful cloth, cool bottlecaps fashioned into badges, wires twisted to have shapes of birds or trees or hearts, leaves and flowers that they quickly replace as soon as the die, some pretty string adorned with wooden beads hanging from his glasses.

Also thinking about how allay's are drawn to music blocks and jukeboxes.

MAYBE the reader knew ghostbur at the time, and was vaguely friendly with them (allays are blue, and ghostbur had a music store). Maybe they mistook Wilbur for Ghostbur upon first meeting him, and he was immediately stand-offish. He warmed up to the allay eventually though.

Another possible meeting scenario is the reader finding Wilbur when he was trying out his guitar, practicing in some abandoned village and trying to regain some of his old talent.

Also, there's the thing that if an allay is given an amethyst shard while doing the dancing animation, they duplicate.

Now, the reader won't undergo mitosis if Wilbur gives them an amethyst shard (dancing/jukebox not needed), but they might grab his face and impulsively give him a big smooch

definitely a gift-giving love language, but instead of extravagant gifts it's little trinkets that are randomly handed to each other without much context, without even pausing the conversation.

Just hand the other a shiny rock, and continue as if nothing happened.

Speaking of extravagance, Wilbur initially tried to make all these grand gestures and stressed over what to give them (insecurity go brrr) before the reader assured him that he didn't need to make the gifts fancy for them to be appreciated. just give them some pretty seashells and they're happy

i may be expanding these headcanons and make them into an actual post for my blog but there's a part three of another revivebur series that i've been working on since march and i really need to finish it

gift giving love language is SO fucking cute and i absolutely adore it. wilbur would be so nervous abt giving a gift because he wants to make sure its good!!! he wants it to be something good and worth it, but reader is just like. you could give me a penny you found on the ground, and that alone would be enough for me. it is the sentiment

i feel like the idea that its about the meaning not the object is also something that wilbur needs to focus on, learning that sometimes its the actions not the words, sometimes its the idea and not the material form, etcetc

i also really adore this bc it reminds me so much of crows who will often bring trinkets in exchange for food :3

I rewrote some of Osana and Raibaru's convorsations, just cause I HATE how they sound, I also added a week two conversation.

These use my redesigns of the characters, so Osana is trans, Ayano pretends to be shy, and Raibaru is in third year with Taro, so thats why she doesnt call him senpai. Osana also knows about Raibaru being strong bc??? theyre supposedly bffs???

R: Um...Osana...don't you think you were a bit...harsh? O: I know...I feel so bad about it...but, I didn't do it on a purpose! It just...happened... Every time I think he's about to realize how I feel about him, I get afraid he'll reject me... I get so scared and start saying stuff to make him think I don't like him! But, what if he starts to think I HATE him? Why do I have to be this way...? Why can't I just be honest with him.. R: Don't beat yourself over it, Osana, I'm sure Yamada-kun understands, he's known you forever, right? O: I hope so, Taro-senpai has never implied he hates me.. but its never too late- R: Don't think like that, Osa-chan, its not good for you. O: sighs, you're right Raibaru, come on, lets go.

O: Is this a bad idea? Maybe I shouldn't do this...what if he doesn't like it...? R: Don't worry, I'm sure he's going to love it, even if its not his favorite food, its the fact that you put in the effort to made him something! O: I hope so...I just...I just wanna make him happy... R: You will, your cooking's delicious and I've seen how he looks at you, there's nothing to worry about, Osana.

O: Ahh, Raibaru, isn't senpai just the cutest! R: I've been meaning to ask, why do you call Yamada-kun senpai? You've known him since childhood. O: Well... I just LOVE the idea of falling in love with one of my senpais! Its just so romantic, and Taro-senpai just so happens to be one, so i just had to take advantage of it, y'know? I-I mean he doesn't know that's why, he just thinks its cause I don't want people knowing we're friends. R: Is that why you like him? O: NO! Thats not why, dummy! Its just a fun coincidence. R: Ohh then tell me about him! Act as if I've never met him. O: Y-you're in the same class as him! You should know about- R: Yeah, but not like you know him~ O: (embarrassed groan) It's really sweet, honestly. It's not about his appearance at all. Taro-Senpai defended me a lot when we were kids when I came out, and... he was my hero, and before I knew it I had this huge crush on him, I didn't even realize it was happening. He's really sweet, and kind, and sometimes a little stupid when he's being silly... R: (Squeal) That's so sweet Osa-chan! Something straight out of a romance manga! O: Ahh right! He's super cute, dont get me wrong. But typically I fall for guys in ponytails, and I just melt for a guy with piercings and glasses! B-but they can't just LOOK pretty, they have to be smart. He could be the prettiest boy in Japan, but if he's dumb as a rock I wouldn't be able to stand him. Oh and not only does he have to love cats, but Kika has to love him. (Osana looks down, and looks really sad, hunching over and curling in on herself with her hand on her arm. Raibaru reaches out and touches Osana's hand.) O: Kika.... R: Don't worry Osana, she's going to turn up soon, that little girl is obsessed with you, she'll find her way back to you soon I bet. (Osana looks comforted when Raibaru touches her, but looks away ashamed as she keeps talking. Raibaru tries to get her to meet her gaze at the end.) O: I-I hope so, Raibaru...

Their conversation after Osana's phone call doesn't happen, they go straight back to the tree

-After Raibaru meets Osana outside of class 2-1 right after class- R: Hey Osana, now that classes are done, I'd like to talk to you in private if that's okay. O: Okay? I'm worried but I trust you Raibaru. (behind the air vents) O: Is everything okay? You've been really paranoid lately, Raibaru, is everything alright? R: No, I'm fine, I've been paranoid lately because.. i've been worried about you, Osana... you've been acting really strange lately. I didn't wanna say anything, but I couldn't help but overhear that phone call you had today and- O: ugh really?? I didn't want to drag you into this! R: I'm sorry Osana, I didn't want to hurt you I just- O: Meant well... ugh its.. last week, in Shisuta Town, this weird guy approached me and started flirting with me...He was really creepy and gross, and I wasn't interested in him at all...it took forever to make him leave me alone... R: Oh my goodness! O: Then even though I never gave him my phone number, I started getting text messages from him.. he keeps texting me pictures that he's taken of me all day! The only time he doesn't is when i'm here at school... its the only place i feel safe anymore. Then he- he took! (Osana puts her face in her hands and sobs, Raibaru puts her hands on her shoulders) R: I'm so sorry, Osana! I promise you, I'll protect you from him, we can call the police, or I can go to his house- O: NO! (osana sobs again) I-i don't want to talk about this anymore please... I just want this all to be over! I just want to feel normal again Raibaru! This is the only place I feel like that anymore...! (Osana tackles Raibaru for a hug) R: I'm sorry for bringing it up... why.. why don't we do something? Oh, we can look around at clubs to join! (Osana lets go of raibaru and wipes her tears) O: What about cleaning time..? R: Look, the student council are in their room, they wont see, so no one will care, okay? O: yeah.... yeah that sounds fun!

-Week two if Osana and Raibaru are both still alive at Akademi, and you didn't eliminate her by befriending or matchmaking- O: I know you're probably sick of hearing this, but thank you again for coming with me to that CREEPS house to get Kika back, it meant so much to me. R: Don't worry about it Osa-chan, that creep still deserved something harsher, but i'm just glad its over now. O: Me too, its such a relief! R: And don't worry, I'll make sure nothing like that happens again to you.

-Week two if Osana and Raibaru are both still alive at Akademi, and you eliminated her by befriending her- O: I should thank Yan-chan again for going through all that for me, shes so sweet, I don't know what I would have done if she didn't get my Kika back. R: Don't you think she's a bit weird though...? I mean- O: No! Yeah she's a bit quiet, but shes always so helpful and sweet! (If you completed her task) She got my cat charm for me when she heard that I was too scared to get it! and she didn't get anything out of it! (if you completed the tutorial) I mean, you heard Haruka-chan, Yan-chan did a whole day of rehearsal just to help out! You shouldn't judge her just because she's shy Raibaru. R: Sighs, you're right, I shouldn't judge her when i haven't really spoken to her too much. O: Thats right!

He has half sleeves down his forearms, one is a geometric beehive and one is a black sillhoetted forest at his wrist with a flock of birds flying out into styalized clouds that extend up to his elbow. He has a sun tattooed on one shoulder. He wears big cargo pants and little tank tops usually. Has a generally masculine, muted color kind of aesthetic with a slight military slash workout look to the clothes. (Secretly dreams of wearing "fancy clothes" like button downs and tailored slacks but doesnt think that he passes well enough to wear them. He does. He looks great in them. Hes just not there yet)

Wears lots of cute clothes with a general y2k vibe and a jean jacket with paint all over (both painted intentionally and just splattered all over)

Ends up with: bestie is juggling beel n belphie and falling for asmo. I feel like the two youngest are fine sharing but idk how they would feel with adding anyone else (cue to boss music as their crush on mammon comes our of nowhere and smacks them in the face [its been building since day one, he is the last to know about it])

Personal appearance: fluffy medium brown hair with a reddish undertone and a disorder causes it to fade to a straw blond at the ends (no projection there none whatsoever haha what), lots of beauty marks, blue-green eyes. has migrane safe red coated glasses (silver frames) that they usually carry in their pocket, usually dresses casually in dark clothes, goth but low effort goth. Only wears silver jewelry. ALL THE PEIRCINGS for both ears, a nose bridge peircing, a septum, has silicone snake bites (so as not to damage teeth), and two silicone tongue peircings. The silicone peircings are all red to match with their glasses.

I forgot to add their body type so: Their ass is so fat. Their thighs?? Thick. Their face, round. Their belly? Soft. (They got a real pair of bazongas. A serious pair of gogalahungas. I mean a REAL SET of bahongadadoiker-ladunkas) basically they have an hourglass body type and are chubby.

Ends up with: levi and mammon are playing tug of war with them. They have never been happier. (they were shocked too, but the heart wants what the heart wants)

although I'm a big fan of joseimuke media I haven't really played a lot of otome games despite the fact that I have several installed and I like keeping up with new releases and reading about classic ones. I kind of regret playing collar x malice as my first full length otome game bc it's so good that it sets the bar too high rip but that's a topic for another day

I was looking forward to playing tengoku struggle even before its release bc I really loved the art style and the setting/premise. in modern japan, everyone knows that hell exists and "model prisoners" from hell are permitted to work in asakusa in the human world, where the gate to hell is located. you play as the daughter of the king of hell who has been tasked with managing a team of 4 dead guys from hell to re-capture a group of escapees, also originally from hell, who are now living in the human world. so you all live in a house together in the human world until you complete your mission. I thought this went hard so I was excited to check it out.

one of the core themes of this game is that the MC hates men LMFAO which also was a draw for me. and the LIs are anime versions of real historical figures as per a classic otome formula so they have weird outdated views about women and the MC whips them into shape etc etc. though tbh this conflict gets resolved pretty quickly as the plot goes on. neither side keeps their resentment of the opposite gender for long which on one hand is good bc I don't really want to romance misogynists but on the other hand felt sort of unnatural especially on the MC's side like you got over your misandry quick I guess damn

the MC Rin is the adopted daughter of the king of hell, king enma. she's a very competent if inexperienced hell guardian who has been tasked with managing this team of 5 assholes to capture the escapees. she doesn't remember anything about her life before she died. I liked rin!! she can hold her own with her whip and her design is cute too. and she has glasses which she wears during her downtime which I love.

shout out to her cat also. I usually am not charmed by cocky mascot characters but tama is so cute and his devotion to rin is so sweet ❤️ little kitty from hell. the LIs and side characters had some great moments with him too.

I must mention that the localization left much to be desired because of the rampant typos and grammatical mistakes omfg. I think it's worst in the common route and the rest is better but good lord. aksys really doesn't give a fuck about quality checking their games which is insane considering I bought this game for FIFTY DOLLARS. I was actually so annoyed I sent them an email about this but ofc I didn't hear back bc they're probably too understaffed to have someone employed who responds to complaint emails

let's talk about the real highlight of this game which was ONO NO TAKAMURA ❤️ rin's teacher who she calls sensei nono and king enma's right hand man, feared by all the prisoners in hell for his power and ferocity which is always lurking under a veneer of elegance and refinement. so basically my exact type of character. he is not even a romanceable character but ended up being my favorite in the entire game due to his delightfully creepy personality....... sensei nono route when.

seriously i love him.

so there are two entry type routes, yona (redhead samurai) and kikunosuke (tiny gamer who turns into a wolf). they were both cute and fun I don't have too much to say about them bc I played them a million years ago. I def enjoyed yona's more even though he pissed me off sometimes lol but I'm always a sucker for the hotheaded stubborn tsundere guy route bc they always fall for the MCs in such a passionate but pure way and rin falling in love with him was sweet even though it happened fast.

kikunosuke has a sister who is one of the escapees from hell and a lot of his route was sibling drama stuff which I always enjoy so that was a plus. also I LOVED his sister she's so adorable and her relationship with rin is so cute, because despite hating her brother she wants rin to be her friend lol. the siblings' backstory is very tragic and I felt for them a lot.

then there was sharaku who had an interesting route lol. I kind of guessed he was going to have a male courtesan backstory but it was interesting how far they took it. he's always talking about trying to sleep with rin which didn't really bother me I guess bc it was kinda funny and I'm desensitized to asshole anime men tbh, plus there was a reason for it. though it would be fair to dislike him because of this lmao. I feel like this route could have been better they were trying to do way too many things... I really liked the core concepts of his character-- having broken attitudes about sex due to sexual trauma, being a famous artist, disliking samurai, etc-- but I don't feel like they were executed super smoothly. anyway his design is nice and I do find him very charming and cute so I kept him as my homescreen character lol. he is very much Guy Who Negs You which is another fav otome archetype of mine... he has some great lines too

JaCK's route... he's a mysterious human working with the escapees and also he is an idol singer or something I guess although that barely comes up. he's kind of a chuuni which is funny af considering he's in his 20s. it is eventually revealed that his name is tetsunojo imai. he was alive during the same time as goemon and has been cursed by nono sensei so that he can't die. as a result he hates everything and everyone having to do with hell and wants to seek revenge. he's kind of horrible to rin for a bit but then has his arc where he repents and it's actually quite emotional and sweet.

all the other guys kinda give him a hard time which is funny lol. there's a lot of nono sensei in this route so obviously it was one of my favs 🙂‍↕️ he has some cool asf badass moments at the end of his route which felt very vindicating bc he spends a lot of it being a coward tbh. I kinda had a problem with rin in this route bc she falls for him so quickly despite him being awful in the beginning like girl get up..... I really liked imai as a character though he had a cool concept with not being able to die and all.

the true route is ishikawa goemon which you find out very early on. the game doesn't hide at all that he's rin's long lost love (who she doesn't remember) from her past life lol. but you can't play his route until you finish the other ones so you basically have to watch him sit in the cuck chair for the entire rest of the game which is kind of depressing bc hes been pining for her for a billion years. Anyway he has a mischievous side bc he's famous thief ishikawa goemon but he's mostly the responsible kind type who helps take care of the other guys. it was sweet how he carried a torch for rin all this time and their story was quite beautiful.

there was a lot of shit happening in his route obviously to resolve everything going on and a lot of reveals that genuinely had me shocked bc I was not expecting them.... but it was a good way to wrap up the game I would say and I feel satisfied about how things ended.

what else... sexual assault and rape are referenced and brought up and incorporated into a couple of characters backstories. it wasn't handled super irresponsibly I would say, just maybe not as sensitively as I would have liked.

apparently this game was not very popular in japan which is sad bc we will likely not get a fan disc. I only really want one for the sensei nono route that I am trying to manifest through sheer force of will

ultimately I thought this was a really fun lighthearted visual novel and otoge!! I wish the villains had been more developed bc that part of the story kind of fell flat and I also wish rin had more of a natural progression from misandrist --> head over heels for whatever dude. but I enjoyed it regardless 👍🏼

sighs okay wait i wanna explain my design for him really quick. keep in mind this was done without references available to me and based off of recollection so this isn't the fully steamed out design (if i do fully steam it out and polish it)

First of all the aspects I wanted to keep was the glasses, the fairy theme, being christmas based, & winter, but a lot of it i just. didnt? i think there was a lot of missed potential w the ideas they had, and if they went down another route I could've forgiven them for the christmas theme

For the glasses I changed them to be more oval shaped & have chains(?) hanging off of them, one that hangs down to have a little mistletoe charm w leaves and one that goes back. like those grandma glasses chains but in a classy wine aunt way. i wanted him to look a little less "bobble the tinkerer" and a little more "knowledgeable" because he is a grown man & i think he deserves to look a bit more mature?

I made his hair softer in its texture and made it more similar to his original hairstyle, but added some curl and volume to make him feel more festive. the way a performer would style their hair, but i wanted it to have a nice airy flow, similar to clouds. to make him look generally more gentle in his demeanour and still keep his look but have a diff hairstyle, instead of having that middle part. i think the added texture gives it a bit more freedom and shape, and i understand there's limitations to the idv style, but i think lifting his hair away from his face a bit and adding some layers wldve fixed it. in my art idea, his hair is a light colour, thinking like a white or at the very least a platinum blond

i also wanted 2 keep him as a fairy or at least smth similar!! so instead i made him a snow faerie rather than an elf/pixie (even though pixie/fairy roughly can translate to 'elf' in german, and victor is almost certainly german even if it isn't confirmed). snow faeries are a nature spirit of December, and i referenced my book of shadows for this. bc vic is germanic and has had germanic & nordic tradition and culture referenced previously in his character and designs (In the Embrace, he's clearly celtic + nordic) I figured it'd be more fitting to make him more themed around paganism & yule aspects rather than christmas. they're very similar due to history but i think adding that small bit of witchery & culture helps distinguish him from "Christmas outfit" to "Festive costume", which can reallt help make a design stand out imo? especially when they're going w a fairy thing. The shitty little small wings I think just made him look more... childish, than whimsical, which is unfortunate. i wanted to keep him as a snow faerie bc i felt it was only fitting he got a bit of festive whimsy but i wanted to make it feel a little more mature n less like a kid wearing those wing backpack thingamabobbers

so yes he got big old icy n frosty wings that i think will be slightly similar to frosted stained glass in my coloured/polished version (if i make one) and not little pixie wings. he gets to be a big faerie today

^ so adding onto that, i completely changed his outfit. i just. dont like it. and i wanted him to fit my snow faerie germanic & celtic boy. i gav rhim a little corset bc i think he was missing a bit of stuff around his waist & shit in my original concept (where he did not have that), and gave him an ornamental lil snowflake thing to tie into it. i think it's a liytle tacky in my original concept but I'll probably refine on it a little more. i gave him two belts simply to add some asymmetry, a golden bell (both in reference to the 'bronze bell' that acted as a cue for him and wick as a postman, but also bc bells r a common theme in holidays) to one waist n a lil pouch to thevother. he also got a waist/legs harness bc i think it was a lil plain on his legs and just lacked some flavour.

he also got a hat!! a furry hat w two lil horns bc i thought they were cute and i wanted to add a bit of detail. it has a fur rim n is a lil bit more like a beret (? im not sure what hat types are, but it's relatively flat. maybe more of a toque) than a santa hat. i havent drawn the back so i cant decide what patterns he has on that

and the big bushy fur coat was simply bc... well i think it made him look nice n cozy n a lil bit like a rich wine auntie. and i think personally he deserves to be a bit of a wine auntie for this season. after getting dumped on a bridge as a kid, having ur only friend die when ur 15, getting involved in the mob, n being nearlt murdered by an embalmer? maybe he deserves a drink on his bday!!! he deserves to be an expensive n prissy wine auntie!!! it's still HIS day even if nobody wants to spend it w him bc they're all celebrating w their family. he gets to be spoiled i think n a big fur coat that gives him a super large n fluffy frame is absolutely vital to lookign rich n expensive w ur tastes. plus he's also a snow faerie, and faeries (not fairies, very different) are known to be a little tricky (and at times, can be a bit entitled, the clever beings that they are)

he also wears heeled boots bc he's got little digitigrade feet and it'd be a more "natural" sole for him than flat feet, bc digitigrade paws don't ever go fully on yhe ground unless they're laying down. this is more just for my fun little silliness n brainrot bc he gets little paw pads n i think that's an absolutely beautiful thing but it's totally vital to my design. the boots obviously have a fur trim to match with everything else n snowflake decals on them to boot!!!

additionally he's meant to have his arms n hands fade to black to sorta represent frostbite in a way, and also bc it's a very classy (and albeit, very common trope, but it's common for a reason) way to make him look a little more sinister(?). unfortunately these (like his feet) r also covered by big ol mittens but i think the mittens r super cute so they get to stay bc they match everything else

additionally i just made him an expensive wine aunt who wld have those little tiny house sets but like a whole village n the fake train n like 5 different christmas trees (all themed) for the holiday season as well as like a thousand yule logs & candles (vanilla or pine scented, of course) around his house. he's obviously drinking a very expensive domaine de la romaneé-conti wine & eating homebaked goods all the while. it wouldn't be a wine aunt winter faerie w/o the most expensive wine he can get his lil clawed hands on if he wasn't spoiling himself for his bday

anyways that's it n as u can tell im a little?? brain thinker when it comes to victor grantz idv. btw i think he'd be called possibly Deorwine or Félagi :3 if he wasn't just called Victor

hello to my faithful idvers who r just as anguished and dismayed by how ugly victors s tier is. i was quite disturbed and petrified when i saw it. anyways i made him a snow faerie these doodles r a lil shitty but he's made for my wine aunt victor agenda

idk. i think my main gripes w it are the general tackiness of it and the way it just clashes? i think it'd be cute, but not for him. not saying my design is objectively any better but i DO think it at least fits how my victor is headcanoned to look, so it's at least arguably a little better in that aspect

I'm jus saddened that he got christmas merched again for hsi second s tier when he's got sooo much cool potential bc of how silent they r about his lore and character. there's so much they could've done n a lotta potential methinks. generally a lot of his lore is incredibly quiet n we only recently had gotten information on his actual background but a lit of it is kept inconclusive. bc we dont know a lot ab the mob he was in & definitively why he acts the way he does about things other than his mom supposedly told him a certain thing when he was young..maybe im overreading but i think the fact he got a shitty s tier as another "Christmas bday = ez christmas money" thing is just sad
