it’s legit not fair that the students don’t get real ball outfits so i’m rectifying that here lol

idk why but i feel like dimitri really wouldn’t care much for traditional formalwear? like he hates being called highness and it seems like every time he has a choice in what he’s wearing he opts for simple stuff he can move in. so that’s what he wore to the ball!

i’m imagining sylvain trying to fit him up and he’s just like. accidentally breaking jewelry and just having a bad time 💀

so the design for this one is heavily inspired by @72stars ball dedue outfit because holy shit theirs is SO wonderful please check it out!

in my mind dedue doesn’t have very many clothes that he’s chosen himself, it’s mostly things that dimitri had made for him that he thinks he’d like (and dedue does like most of it because they’re from dimitri!)

similar to dimitri, i think he’s also not super big on formalwear but he DID let mercedes do his hair, so it must’ve been nice for him to finally wear it down instead of in such a tight ponytail.

i imagine that after dimitri implored him to *please* enjoy himself, he had a nice night and enjoyed the festivities :3 (tho he probably had to fight back some serious anxiety when dimitri snuck out for air)

also THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for all the love on ball dimitri!!! i have literally never received this amount of attention on anything ive ever posted anywhere, im so flattered that ppl genuinely enjoy my art and my headcanons. rest assured that there is MUCH more on the way

MY DEAR INFANT SON HAS JOINED THE BALL ROSTER

guys i had so much fun drawing ball ashe it was probably the quickest ive done one of these lol. my sweet adorable boy got all dolled up for the balllll look how excited he is!!!

ashe is SO EXCITED for this ball!!!! like i said in the sylvain post, faerghus generally doesn’t have a lot of formal events and that becomes especially true the farther you get from fhirdiad. having been a commoner for most of his life and growing up in castle gaspard means that ashe has never really done anything like this before, but he’s super giddy nonetheless :3 sylvain gave him a lil dance lesson and some tips for winning the ladies (he used none of them), and annette helped him go through his clothes and pick what to wear :3

i think in general ashe wears a lot of christophe’s hand me downs. he wants lonato to focus his efforts on caring for his little siblings after all, he can teal with some baggy clothes! especially since he knows how to sew, he’s perfectly content to inherit his adoptive brother’s stuff, even if it’s a little impersonal.

UNTILLLLL he comes to the academy and meets his bestie dedue!!!!! those two hit it off SO WELL and they bond so much over their interests that i can so see dedue teaching ashe how to do embroidery so he can make his clothes feel more like his and be a little prettier! dedue showed him how to make butterflies (he used to embroider them on his sister’s clothes 💔) and ashe proceeded to make a pretty lil butterfly vest and show it off at the ball lol. he was super nervous and kept asking if his outfit was nice enough, if he should do something with his hair, but i think everyone just told him how lovely he looked and he found the confidence to relax and have fun

BALL SYLVAIN IS DONE AT LAST guys i had a really hard time with him lmao. EVERY OTHER MAN IN THIS HOUSE IS LIKE “they don’t really enjoy formalwear so they went with something simple!” but not sylvain!!!! i KNOW this flashy mf is dressing to the nines for this ball, he is ON THE PROWL he is here to GET BITCHES and have a homoerotic sword fight with felix later but shhhh

like i said before, sylvain kinda took it upon himself to give all the guys makeovers for the ball and it ended up as a house-wide get-together in his room because mercedes and annette heard abt it and then dragged ingrid along because they felt bad for her lol. he had that suit jacket commissioned FOR THIS EVENT the second he heard abt it, sylvain is a fashionable guy but i think he loves gaudy shit like that too. no shirt for him because he’s a WHORE and he cannot leave the house without his collarbone exposed. he got zero girls at this ball and blamed it on felix for ruining his vibe. oh well!

i don’t see faerghus as being a land with much of a preoccupation with formal events tbh. it’s such a cold and solemn place that i think if they are having balls it’s for serious shit like coronations and maybe weddings but ehhhh idk. when there ARE balls and such, matthias does not trust sylvain to dress himself. he has servants choose his outfits and he keeps that man WITHIN HIS SIGHTS because. if sylvain is gonna make a bad name for house gautier it will not be on his watch!!! this is the first ball sylvain has been at without his father and so he just fully LETS LOOSE and dresses as slutty as his heart desires and probably pregames this event A LOT (to the disappointment of everyone else in the house). sylvain is the disappointment of the blue lions but he’s MY disappointment

BALL FELIX AT LONG LAST

sorry this guy took a little while lol, school’s been kinda nuts but i’m getting into a groove with my work so i should be able to draw more consistently

so felix does NOT want to be at this damn ball lmao. he would much rather take advantage of the empty training grounds and do swordplay to his heart’s content, BUUUUUUUT sylvain made a deal with him that if felix joined him at the ball for a while, he would leave early with him to spar. and come on, what good is training without a sparring partner (even if he’s an idiot), so felix agreed.

part of this deal was that sylvain would get to force him into help him with his outfit, since if it were up to him felix would just wear his school uniform and have that be the end of it. obviously the rest of the house heard abt this arrangement and they all had a nice time in sylvain’s room getting ready and it was super cute im sure. mercedes and annette are both super enamored with his long hair i think, and annette worked her magic and got felix to let her do his hair, resulting in his lil do with the flower (which is actually gonna match the flowers on annette’s dress but oooooh you’ll have to wait for that one)

i’m gonna make a masterpost for this blog just to get organized, i see this more on writing/fanfic blogs than art ones but i wanna do one anyway bc a) i wanna start doing more writing on here along with art and headcanons b) i do a lot of reblogging here and general shitposting so i wanna make sure the posts that i actually do put effort into don’t get buried. so yay for that! thanks again for all the love on here recently, im happy my hyperfixation is fun lol
