joining in on the Almyra talk!!! Pardon me if some of this doesn't make a lot of sense, I'm just brain vomiting rn.

Ive been replaying verdant wind and talking to Claude about Almyra and Fodlan's relationship makes me sad because we really almost could've had something. Like, Claude is from Almyra and he isn't battle crazed. I wish we saw Almyrans being chill and not wanting to fight at all. I wish we saw Almyrans trying their hardest to provide for their families. I maybe understand if the creators wanted to go in the direction of it being a "third world country", but even that disgusts me to think about since they're all brown. I wish they made Almyrans more human, rather than Cyril just being like "yeah everyone there sucks" essentially (in there's more nuance to that.) Or! If they wanted Cyril to be still pro-Fodlan, maybe make it more apparent that this kid was almost brainwashed in a sense by the Church into thinking this was what he was made for?? It would be an interesting mark to add onto the Church's inherent corrupt nature. Like idk loving being a servant isn't a great look for a brown person. Like said before, it's literally what white people would say in defending their own slavery/sharecropping: "my slaves love it!"

Yeah.

Just thinking about this game and its fanbase gives me a massive headache.
