Canon/Headcanon likelihood chart

So I've been thinking about @macdenlover 's "levels of headcanon" chart (about how heavily a HC is influenced by canon), so I decided to make my own scale about how likely a HC is to be true (including different levels of canon) using queer cartoon characters as examples :)

I just spent an hour making this because I was bored. Enjoy. Image description under the cut.

i know i sure as hell said some shit when i was first figuring out my identity because i was in a heavily transphobic environment. that kind of stuff happens, not everyone grows up in a place that's super supportive and a lot of the time you internalize it or end up parroting nasty shit. the difference is i wasn't going through that kind of thing as a highly public streamer where people could record and repost every single thing i said and spread it around for years

also i want you to ask yourself if this sissyfication kink thing is actually problematic or if he's just comfortable with his sexuality and posting thirst traps like a whole bunch of other content creators do. would this actually be a problem if he wasn't trans. be honest

Anemaniac (or maybe Oddly Oddity, whichever works best) but Secret History Tails and Molly/Iamemeye.

If you couldn't tell given the title, they're based on Ollie from "BATIM 2017 prototype" and "Out of the Ink Machine", the premise is generally the same where it pokes fun at THOSE fans that think they're better than the creators when there's nothing necessarily wrong with the source material, it lulls the "fan" into a false sense of security with a fake remake/retake called "The Return of Insanitails aka There's Something About but good" and after a bit, it slowly reveals itself to be not what it seems.

Molly has a false form(not shown here but I'll show it at some point) that resembles the actual Secret History Tails but it's very slightly off and voice wise, it's either just sentence mixing random audio or simply a kinda bad impression of the crazy fox. Molly also has a fat form(remember the OG vid for context).

Molly can be rather mischievous but is otherwise harmless, they also partake in activities that any child would like playing and drawing, they're also fine with other versions of the fox.

They are pretty much genderless and goes by any pronouns and that includes neos since it doesn't mind, they're also genderfluid.

Their other name(their real name), Iamemeye is pronounced like "I am, am I".

people accusing alutegra shipper of homophobia and lesbian/aroace erasure are so funny because ONE, as a fan, i cannot make or remove a queer representation of a media, that act can only be done by the creator/producer/corporation/ institution themselves, the fanworks you make for a ship does not held the same weight as official materials. It's a bit insulting that you are comparing fanworks made out of love (that could very much be made by queer people) to a phenomenom driven by hate and bigotry and was a contributing factor to the oppression of queer people. Throwing around big words, accusations, that were meant for something very serious and harmful to refer to something unharmful just because you dislike a ship is not a very LGBTQIA+ friendly thing of you to do. Do you think of homophobia so lightly? Accusing REAL queer people who are being subjected to homophobia on a daily basis because of something they love?

SECOND OF ALL, let's assume that your headcanon is true (i haven't speak of the fact that its basic fandom etiquette to treat headcanon as something personal and not universal and don't harass other people over unharmful difference in opinion). Let's say, Integra is a lesbian, which is a headcanon. Did we collectively forget Alucard is canonically genderfluid? Yet you're referring to Alucard/Integra as a "cishet" ship? Does a queer person get stripped of their queer identity when they participate in a relationship that is male/female presenting? I thought we are about "queer rep"??? How convenient it is to deem him a cis het man and headcanon Integra as a lesbian to make the shippers look bad. Oh, and on the way of watering down queer identity into a caricature, you are also claiming ace people cannot have sex and it's disrespectful to depict ace people having romantic/sexual relationship. As if asexuality isn't a spectrum ranging from "little to no attraction" and the definition of sexual interaction is very loose, especially for queer people. Do you even care about queer people at this point?

Full multigender question prompts / ask game!

So I decided I wanted to do that whole ask game! And it's still the 5th in my timezone so technically it's still Multigender Awareness Day!

Basics

1) What are your genders? Either labels/terms or descriptions :)

I’m a bigender man/woman! The double binary! I also like saying I’m a trans man/cis woman. Cistrans manwoman. Tee hee mashing words together

2) Describe your pronouns. What are they, and why?

I use he/him & she/her, and I usually write it fully out like that (instead of he/she or she/he or something) so that nobody gets to ignore one for the sake of the other, or assume it’s a typo or something. I also say it out loud fully too, so no one can mishear me.

3) How long have you known you were multigender? Or, when did you discover each of your genders?

Uhhhh I don’t remember. Several years. It was pre-pandemic though.

4) When did you first hear about being multigender?

When I met one of my friends, who is also bigender! (Hi Jacob) It was the first time I had ever been introduced to the concept, and it started some wheels turning almost immediately.

5) Are there any terms under the multigender umbrella that you identify with? (like bigender, trigender, genderfluid, omnigender, multiflux)

Bigender, as noted above!

6) Do you identify with any umbrella terms that can encompass being multigender, like "trans" or "nonbinary"?

I am trans, but I am not non-binary.

I guess by definition I’m non-binary? Like I technically fall under the umbrella, but I’ve never identified with it. People tend to assume that “non-binary” means “genderless” which is the exact opposite of what I have going on. I’d rather strangers just assume I’m a binary trans man tbh, because at least then they’d be half-right!

What's It Like For You?

7) Are your genders more fluid or more static?

Static! I am 100% a man and 100% a woman at all times. They are inseparable and making out.

8) Are your genders more separate or blended together?

Hmm this is an interesting one. I think it’s both, in a way? My genders are blended the way puzzle pieces are blended, two distinct and separate objects that slot perfectly together to reveal a fuller picture.

9) Do you "hoard" genders or labels?

Nah, I’ve only got 2 genders and I’ve never been into microlabels.

10) Do you have any analogies you use to describe your genders? Well, that puzzle piece one I just came up with certainly works. I also like to say, “I’m a woman incidentally, I’m a man on purpose.”

11) Describe your ideal gender presentation, or physical form. Ideally I would have a video game character creator screen appear in front of me every morning, so I could choose whatever I feel like that day.

It’s hard to describe what I want in more specific detail, because what I truly, genuinely want is to be confusing. I want people to not be sure how to refer to me, use sir and ma’am in the same sentence because they can’t figure out which one is correct. I want two people to come to completely different conclusions, and panic when they realize the other person says something else. That’s not so much a “presentation” as it is a “vibe.” I also try not to get too specific with my Gender Yearning, because transition will never give you 100% of everything you want, and I don’t want to disappoint myself in the future by having a goal of something impossible.

12) Does your gender influence your sexual orientation? I’m double gay. All my sex is gay. Get bigender’d, idiot.

Real answer: I figured out I was bisexual way before I figured out I was bigender, and that hasn’t changed. I think since I’ve started transitioning, I’ve allowed myself to connect more with being a queer man attracted to queer men. My attraction to men has always felt queer, and something did feel “missing” from it even when I discovered being bisexual, so I think transitioning has let things click into place a bit more. My attraction to women never felt “incomplete” in that way, probably because being a woman attracted to women was already queer, so I never had to worry about being misinterpreted as a straight person lmao. And of course attraction to other trans/non-binary people feel queer because duh.

13) Does your sexual orientation influence your gender(s)? See above, I don’t think the distinction matters too much here.

14) Do you identify with any multigender-specific sexuality labels? I have tossed around a couple before, but nothing stuck. Bisexual has always been home to me.

Getting A Bit Personal Now, Are We

15) Describe your names and their significance to you. I only have one name, it’s my birth name, and it’s significant to me because I like it. I think it rules. It’s from Star Trek.

16) What are your plans for medical, social, legal (etc) transition? How far along in your transition would you consider yourself to be?

I’m “socially transitioned” in that I am openly trans if you ask, I am currently on testosterone (one year in March!), I don’t plan on changing anything legally because I just don’t care, I’m getting sterilized in May, and maybe one day perhaps I’ll be getting a salmacian bottom surgery (vagina preserving phalloplasty).

I definitely think I’m in the early stages of transition—my voice hasn’t even fully dropped yet—and I’m excited to see what else the future holds!

17) Have you faced any barriers in transitioning specifically related to your multigender identity or related goals?

It is definitely harder to get a vagina preserving phalloplasty—a lot of surgeons don’t do it. They want you to swap genitals completely, switch from one to the other. Unless something changes in the next decade or two, I’ll most likely have to fly to California to get bottom surgery to even find a surgeon willing to do the procedure I want.

Other than that, I haven’t had much trouble. I do think I dumb down my gender out of fear that doctors won’t take me seriously sometimes (i.e. only mentioning that I’m a trans man, making sure to carefully omit that I’m also still a woman). Most doctors are cis, even if they work with trans patients, and I just don’t have the time to explain multigenderedness to them.

18) Have you ever faced prejudice or hostility due to your multigender identity or related presentation?

Not overtly in real life, because I have wonderful friends, but this one time someone sent me an anon that said something to the effect of: “you can’t be ‘double gay’ you fucking idiot, kill yourself.” Which was honestly just funny to me. You’re just jealous I’m twice as gay as you.

I face more of the quiet erasure sort of hostility. Being crammed into a monogender box wherever I go, even when I tell people my pronouns, even when I’m wearing them. I have a shirt I made that says “Bigender Swag” and I still got ma’amed at PRIDE. Which I guess isn’t wrong, but it irritates me.

19) When in a situation forcing you into one gender, what do you do?

Be disappointed, but not surprised. I try to avoid places like that, because it’s depressing, but I generally just let people assume whatever gender they want until I can escape.

20) How do you deal with such transmultiphobia, external or internal? Do you use any comforts or affirmations to help?

I’m trying to care less about what random strangers think my gender is. It’s none of their business anyway, and I’m never going to see them again most of the time. The people in my life, the ones I care about, those are the people who I really want to see the full extent of who I am.

As for the erasure side of it… just letting people be annoying and wrong, I guess? Being angry is only going to make me angry, being sad just makes me sad, and the people who I’m angry with aren’t going to get any less transmultiphobic—or straight up just regular transphobic, because clearly if you set up an event to segregate people by gender, you don’t care much about trans and non-binary people at all.

Getting to do both, I guess!! I don’t have to pick one gender and completely sever myself from the other, I can take the things I like from both and use the pieces to build one whole genderful self!

I feel powerful in being opposites. I’m a man and woman, I’m a cis and trans person at the same time, and most people—including other trans people—would view that as contradiction that would default not make sense, one would disqualify the other. But not for me! I contain multitudes and you WILL be confused by me.

24) Do you do (or have you ever done) anything to express pride, privately or publicly, in your multigender identity?

All the time! I have a bigender flag hung up in my room, I have a flag patch on my jacket and a he/she pronouns pin as well. I made a shirt with the bigender flag on it because nobody fucking sells those. And my sibling got me a bigender flag bowtie for Christmas, so I’m definitely going to wear that the next chance I get <3

Yep! I am not shy about it, and if people ask me gender questions, I will answer honestly. I don’t bring it up unprompted though. Unless it’s funny.

So I don’t “come out” anymore. I don’t bring up my transness unless somebody asks or it’s relevant to the conversation, but I’m also not keeping it a secret. I’ll talk about it if someone asks, but if not, all they need to know is how to refer to me.

29) Are you open about some parts of your gender identity, but not others?

I’m as open as people are curious. I like talking about my gender in depth with people! It’s fun! But obviously if they don’t ask, they don’t get to know lmao

I do sometimes feel like I have to lean really hard into being a trans man for it to not get brushed aside. I think the future, I’d like to have a “public” gender and a “private” gender, if that makes sense? I’d rather the cashier at the grocery store assume I’m a man until and unless they see/hear otherwise, but my family and friends who’ve known me for ages, or that I’m particularly close with, have permission to she/her me and stuff.

30) What do you wish more people knew about being multigender?

Well first, that it exists. That it’s easy and it’s free to be two or more genders at once. So many people straight up aren’t aware that such an option exists—except they probably know about being genderfluid. But you don’t have to be fluid to be more than one gender at once, there’s a whole spectrum of options out there. You can do whatever you want forever!

But close second is that it does feel inherently exclusionary in most queer spaces to be multigender. There’s a bisexual meet-up in my city that I’ve never been to (and never will), because they separate people by “women and femme non-binary” and “men and masc non-binary”—oh, but don’t worry, “you can decide which group you feel most comfortable in!” If I show up there, which room would they decide I belong in? This is a good microcosm of being multigender in all cishetero society, but unfortunately, indeed, in the queer community as well.

A LOT of queer spaces are separated by gender, sexuality, or presentation. I’ve had to wonder which places and people are going to be safe for me to interact with as my whole self, and which ones are going to dutifully ignore the half of my identity they like the least. I have to wonder if people are going to feel betrayed when they learn I’m a trans person who’s still cis, and try to deny me my own feelings and how I relate to my gender. I have to wonder if I’m “too woman” to date queer men, or “too man” to date queer women. Especially now that I’m on T—how long before people start assuming I’m exclusively a man instead of exclusively a woman? What’s going to happen when they find out they’re wrong?

So yeah, I wish people would keep this in mind more often.

31) Free space! Share anything you would like about your multigender experience.

Something that I’ve thought about a few times is the potency of my genders is different. They have different concentrations.

My woman gender feels closer to being genderless and my man gender feels VERY gendered. Maybe it’s because I’ve been a full-time woman for so long and it’s just easier to view as “me”, but since I’m not as used to being a man doing it On Purpose makes it more tangible. Dunno! But that’s how it feels!

Pleakley and Jumba, from the OG Lilo and Stitch? These two where and still are super-super important to me. They where my first pairing little-baby-me ever shipped before I even knew what shipping was, and it’s a HUGE reason why what the remake did to these characters absolutely destroyed me, ESPECIALLY since I’ve just realized since last year or two I’ve been a huge Pleakley kinnie for years.

(Head’s up, MAJOR TW for a lot of serious shit in the “read more”, when I say this is Personal/Vent, I really fucking mean it.)

���I grew up in a toxic, sheltered/“homeschooled”, doomsday cult-esque household where I was treated like dogshit even before outed against my will, I was continuously and progressively dehumanized and told I was going to be hated by everyone gay and straight, my existence was against God, that I was pretending to be queer and therefor a bigot for presenting myself as queer, going to hell, that me as a child myself telling people around my age I was queer was disgusting and inappropriate, beaten-up and kicked out of the house on occasion for very petty reasons if not for the fun of it, had harmful rumors spread about me in my own home and sexually harassed by my own bio father while my own mother justified it….in a place where I wasn’t allowed to leave and I was treated like property they tried their hardest into converting me into being their ideal straight Christian girl they infantilized and bullied for being (undiagnosed) ND. Neither me or my sister where even allowed to go to school and we where endlessly barraged with propaganda day and night, pitted against each other in various ways, and I was deemed a brat and ignorant for not wanting their weird doomsday cult shit shoved in my face 24/7.

But during that harrowing time? I found comfort and freedom in the media I hyperfixated on at the time, especially looking back at the OG Lilo and Stitch as well as the series. All that wholesome and adorable Pleakley x Jumba fanart plus the fact that even one of the creators of a franchise I found escapism and solace in was celebrating the day same-gender marriage was finally legalized with a doodle of Stitch waving a Pride flag in support all while the adults who kept me in their toxic circle threw fits like bratty children while pretending to be apathetic. They especially could never comprehend the idea of me being a transmasc genderfluid femboy without enforcing their belief that being trans is “exterminating” the gays that they also seemed to hate so much except when they need to have yet-another excuse for their bigotry.

None of those adults who tortured us live in this house anymore, they left me and my sister here in the middle of our 20s, neither of them are around to control either of us anymore and I finally get to be openly myself with neither of them around to make me feel like their punching bag anymore (one of them still owns the place and visits now and then, and yes she is still hateful of the LGBTQ+ community and over the holidays, she even tried to angrily lecture me about how selfish, immature and even how it could be contributed to “grooming” that it is to come out as myself before my stepdad and I changed the conversation, which considering my upbringing, she is a dirty, cowardly hypocrite)….and during the time I finally feel more and more comfortable presenting my authentic self, the remake to a movie that helped shape who I am as a person gets massacred. They removed the queerness of Pleakley and made Jumba an irredeemable villain who replaces Gantu who was removed from the story in a vain attempt to make the remake work when it only makes it even worse.

It crushes me that two characters I shipped together since I was a baby get hit with this bad of character assassination. It’s like if someone rebooted Steven Universe and made Garnet split up and have Ruby be a mole to Homeworld, or those shitty Smiling Friends fanfics that make Charlie a total dick to Pim and remove all his good character traits.

…..I’ve never felt so betrayed and hurt over a piece of fiction in my entire life. Disney as a company is so ass-backwards and patronizing that it’s painful in so many ways. I’ve lost my respect for this company ever since the controversy with where they filmed Mulan (2020) which in-itself is a whole other can of worms regarding ethnic-cleansing and colonialism.

As if it isn’t bad enough Nani gives up Lilo for Mainland USA Collage of all things, this movie goes out of its way to to completely spit in the face of everything that made the original great. I have not seen this film and I really don’t want to now, It’s not worth hate-watching for the kikis and I beg y’all to just rewatch the OG movie instead of wasting money seeing this blasphemous trainwreck.

What do you find most influences your characterization of Achilles when you’re writing? I love all your fics so much btw! 💖

Aah this is such a good question!!! Honestly a lot of the time when I write him I think about his Iliad characterisation, I think it's my favourite. He is so abrasive and self-centered and it makes so much sense within the context of the story and his situation that you can't even be mad about it. I love how intensely he feels all his emotions, Achilles doesn’t do anything by halves: he loves to the max, hates to the max, grieves to the max. There is something so powerful about the fact that his love and his grief go hand in hand with such monumental destruction, like he’s so SCARY in how torrential his passions are but also so very human, and that is always an interesting thought experiment trying to apply those characteristics in different universes or stories. I love that throughout the Iliad we get glimpses of not only how deadly he is, but also a sweet, caring, honourable man that genuinely cares about his fellow humans in his own way, and also about justice and fairness, and it's so painful how that is turned against him in the end. He's just such a complex character with so many layers, and with every fic I write about him I want to peel back those layers and see what I can do with them lol. He contains multitudes and I honestly think he's one of the greatest characters ever conceived in one of the most compelling stories ever written and that inspires me the hell out of me lmao.

Also the fact that he's a demigod, and that he is intentionally written differently from other characters in the Iliad (in the way he speaks and acts and moves, the way he expresses his emotions, in his powers, his connection to Thetis and the sea), like he’s a weirdo by default but also extremely relatable and I find that so endearing. Achilles' weirdness is something that features quite a lot in my works.

I am also inspired by his TSOA and Hades characterisations, as well as his appearances in other ancient greek works (I think I would be lying if I said that TSOA isn't in the dna of most of my patrochilles stories LOL but I usually inject other bits and pieces from other works into his characterisation depending on the fic). I love seeing how other creators were inspired by Achilles and what they decided to do with him, which aspect of his character they chose to focus on, it's always so interesting. It's a good thing that he appears in quite a lot of stuff, both modern and older works, both in writing and in art, so we're a bit spoiled for choice.

Edit: also the fact that the myth of him hiding in Skyros dressed as a woman is so old and embedded into his general myth, and that he was feminine-looking and graceful enough to pass makes me feral....!!!!! ABSOLUTELY FUCKING FERAL!!!! And ALSO that even in the Iliad his role in Patroclus' funeral mirrors that of Andromache in Hector's funeral, like he doesn’t care about gender norms Patroclus is his HUSBAND and Achilles taking on the role of the wife is just!!! Genderfluid Achilles until the day that I die 🥹✊️

Hey, the thing I would recommend the most is to simply try it out: Don't be afraid to experiment. Try out labelling yourself as genderfluid. Do you like it? Does it make you feel happy/euphoric/comfortable? Do you feel like it fits? Then you most likely are genderfluid!

Interact with genderfluid content and creators, see if you can relate to the experiences (but be mindful to not take it too seriously; everyone experiences genderfluidity differently, not (completely) relating does not make you any less valid!!), just explore the waters a little bit.

Different AU's: I can do all diffrent types! Pirate, mafia, hybrid, fantasy, royalty, mermaid, soulmates, mall workers, vampires, ghosts, ect. Or if you have your own AU and would like me to do somthing with it I can tolltally do that to.

Omegaverse: I know not everyone likes this trope but i'm a absaloute sucker for it. I can do Alpha, Beta, or Omega for charecters or Reader. I do write heats but not in a sexual way, i personally write them kinda like a human period but replace the blood with increased body tempetures.

Any Gender: I am personally genderfluid and AFAB so those are the two that I would have the most experience with. Any skin color: I love having variety in my writing so I will do any skin colors. I can do basic skin colors, from pale peach to dark brown. I can also do exstream versions like skin that is nearly paper white from how pale it is or skin that us nearly space black from how dark it is. I can also do unnatural skin colors, like Mina!

Alterhuman Reader: Ok so I see absaloutly no alterhuman reader fanfics out there so i'm here to change that. I'm not personally a alterhuman but I do have a few freinds that are. If you want me to do a specific one instead of basic I can also do that. Like instead of a dragon kin I can do a dragon kin with space wing and starts eyes with claws that glow in the dark ect.

Body Marks: I personally have stretch marks, moles, freckles, and odd placed birthmarks so I can do any of these or others if you would like. If you are specifically extra self-conscious of your body marks than I can add extra levels of love to specific part if you would like :)

Misscarage: I have lost three sibling to this and I still cry at night thinking of them, please don't ask me to do anything to do with this subject. If you do I will give you 1 warning and then I'm blocking you.

Abortion: I don't really have a side here but I don't like the though of writing it as it makes me uncomfortable.
