Aimé-Jules Dalou (1838 – 1902) was a 19th-century French sculptor of working class origins who was admired for his perceptiveness, execution, and unpretentious realism.
Alphonse Legros (1837 – 1911) was a French, later British, painter, etcher, sculptor, and medallist. He moved to London in 1863, and was later naturalized as British. He became important as a teacher in the British etching revival, a revival that lasted until 1929. The market for etching and drawings was one of many markets that became severely negatively affected by the Wall St crash....
