It’s body is striped in all manners of colours like the layers of sediment in the earth. Illustrated floral accents decorate it’s body and juramaia are illustrated against it’s flank. It stands on a dome shaped base with a sculpted tree between it’s arms and ribs, serving as a support, 3D branches tapering into 2D linework. Gold lustre accents it’s pupils and dots across it’s body.

Resting Mel

Bipedal dinosaurs couldn’t pronate their hands like we can (hence modern reconstructions always have the palms of the hands facing each other) but their fingers still had a solid amount of articulation. In the case of Allosaurus, paleontologists believed that members of this genus would’ve used both their claws and teeth to rake over the flesh of their prey (contrast this with Tyrannosaurus, where the tiny arms are the result of having a set of incredibly powerful jaws that can literally crush bone).

This was what I tried to suggest in my drawing, although I’m not sure if the actual position of the arms are anatomically possible (relative to the position of the animal’s upper body). I am more certain that I drew the hands bigger than the size they are supposed to be.

The quill-like protuberances on the back of its neck and chin are entirely speculative on my part; I thought they looked neat.

LEFT - « 2 0 2 0 » A try for a phone wallpaper, i was very satisfied with it by the time: the grumpy look, the tired face, the background by the time was making me smile but recently i had grown tired of it since i know i can do better backgrounds and that some details changed in the character... RIGHT - « 2 0 2 2 » Yet another remake, changed the background completely, removed Koreel from the composition and also added the darker scales in Huatau’s design, he didn’t change this much but i still wanted to update him graphically... I’m very much more liking the new background even if i just post cropped pictures here !

Ben fragilis

A sapien from the Cenozoic Era, described by a singular foot print found in 2020 on a small island off Costa Rica, Isla Nublar. Given the name Ben fragilis (meaning "fragile Ben") because of its small size and its light weight, estimated to be 1.62 meters tall (5 ft 4 in) and approximately __kg (__ lbs.)

Despite its size, it's theorized to have been a resilient and head strong individual. Possibly able to bring down predators twice its size.

This individual was believed to be it's own genus until the discovery of the living species Ben maximus in 2024 confirmed the specimen to be a juvenile, making its original genus invalid.

The footprint of the individual is dated to be from 2015. Discussion of its nature and survival became a major topic, as the footprint was set close to the foot path of a juvenile ankylosaurid. The close proximity of the footprints in relation to the ankylosaurid specimen suggests Ben fragilis relied on, or even had a mutual cooperation with the large herbivore.

This behavior could explain how such a small individual dealt with competition in a volatile environment like Isla Nublar. By 2021 this hypothetical was confirmed.

Ben maximus

A living sapien from the Cenozoic Era, this individual is described from multiple in-person sightings and interactions. Given the name Ben maximus (meaning largest Ben), for the individual's height and body build. Measured to be 1.88 meters tall (6 ft 2 in) and approximately __ kg (__ lbs)

An alternate naming for this species is Ben Sequoius, also in reference to its height.

This specimen's discovery brought to light that Ben fragilis, a small sapien described from a footprint on Isla Nublar, was actually just a juvenile making it an invalid genus

Ben maximus has had a recent observed behavior of migration due to possible threat, traveling long distances with little to no sleep. Such new behavior is considered concerning as the individual was previously isolating themselves for an unknown amount of time.
