ok so I haven't watched the new she hulk but I've seen scenes and you know how some people are mad because like Matt is joking and happy. They say that's completely out of character but hear me out, that smiling joking Matt reminds me of college Matt. when we had flash backs of Foggy and Matt walking around campus and joking. To me seems like Matt just isn't at complete rock bottom like he was in a lot of Daredevil. Matt was going through it in Daredevil but now he's free, flirty and flipper than ever. Tbh good for him, he deserves it.

The final track cycling events of the 2024 Paris Olympics have wrapped up, and they saw some impressive performances that *almost* convinced us to watch track cycling more.

New Zealand had a very good last week, with Ellesse Andrews winning women's Keirin. Hetty van de Wouw of the Netherlands and Emma Finucane of Great Britain finished silver and bronze, respectively. (Can we also mention how absolutely 🔥 the New Zealand kit is? The stark black and fern motif looks so cool. We almost want to do a best of Olympic cycling kit, there were some other great ones out there.)

Other than the funny bike situation, Keirin seems like one of the track events we understand best. It's a bike race, you race together and whoever is fastest wins. There's a pacing motorcycle on the track? It speeds up, or it just pulls off? I dunno, that's weird, but at least it's just becomes a race, and very fast one!

Sprint is a different animal, and seemingly a misnomer. They just ride around slowly, looking at each other. It's like the silliest, slowest part of a road race that ends in a two-up sprint. And they do it again? Okay, whatever, that's fine.

It was more than fine for New Zealand, because Ellesse Andrews took gold in that event as well, followed by Lea Friedrich of Germany for silver and Emma Finucane of Great Britain for bronze, added to her silver in the Keirin.

And then we come to the omnium, a track cycling race that we truly do not understand. Seriously, what is this event? You race around and there are periodic sprints, and you score points on certain laps, and the points add up over multiple races? This just sounds like an event that makes you race a bike and do math in your head as you keep an eye on competitors and laps, and that makes our heads hurt.

This event was dominated by American Jennifer Valente, who already had a gold to her name in women's team pursuit. She entered the final race in the lead, and kept it all the way for gold. Poland’s Daria Pikulik won silver, and New Zealand’s Ally Wollaston took home the bronze after holding off Lotte Kopecky of Belgium.

(For the record, Australia's yellow and green kit with indigenous designs on the sleeves also looks very cool.)

But it gets worse! Because the madison is a very similar event that is like a tag-team relay involving tagging in and out, and half of the riders aren't engaged at any particular moment, and they sling-shot each other around, all while keeping track of points and competitors and laps. 🫠

The madison was apparently (who knows, we couldn't even tell) won by a resurgent Italian team made up of familiar names in road racing, Vittoria Guazzini and Chiara Guazzini. Great Britain's Elinor Barker and Neah Evans took home silver while Maike van der Duin and Lisa van Belle of the Netherlands leapt into third place after lapping the pack to score big took home bronze.

Our heads hurt just trying to describe it all, but it was exciting racing, and a nice send-off for cycling at the 2024 Paris Olympics!

1. Obvi the main 4 kids from the books (Nick, Enzo, Trinity & Maritza) super super grew fond of them since book 2 and have made them basically my childhood version of a girl group from a cartoon show (think winx club). They really play off each other well, Trinity having this very lawful chaoticness with Maritza (also when Maritza tells Nick "Oh yeah we bribed the teen to like distract Ted for 5 bucks" that shit was SOOO FUNNY) and then ofc there is Enzo... Ough I have alot to say about Enzo, he truly turned me around and made me start loving like "The asshole frenimie" relationship he had with Nick and god does he and Nick steal the whole of book 2 with chapter 7 for me, and also just like the one thing I enjoy out of them is the fact despite how they can be investigating on Ted, they're still children and they're very flawed and likable like you don't have to take my word:

2. I don't see these two tend to get talked about it's really sad cause like I really love the two, Jen and Allie from the Bosco Bay Graphic Novel HUGE SPOILERS FOR HN BOSCO BAY

Something about the way Zac Gorman writes these two are so infatuating especially cause they were the FIRST to confront Ted about his negligence and willingness to hide about the disappearance of Joe (Jen's brother and Allie's cousin) also just off tell him girl:

3. Minor characters again from the books but in a way really needed uh.... (specifically) Luanne & Jay Roth and Miguel Esposito..... (Yes.... Nick's parents... And Maritza & Enzo's dad in the books their mom fucking oofed) I really love the breath of fresh air that is the adults seriously they are so fun and charming from Jay's sweet tooth that Nick has a whole list of every treat Jay will consume just on a thought, Luanne's literal grief that is her mom despite her anger when she found out her mom left Nick in a storage closet in the fucking SUPERMARKET WHEN HE WAS 4-3??? CHRIST???? Also literally Miguel is everything Theodore wished he was and told Jay off after saying Ted should be in a lawsuit after killing a 7 year old girl with his death machine rollercoasters (also he's a single father I love single fathers 🫶🫶🫶) they also really play off each other so well and honestly idk if I want to call them archetypes for parents who aren't aware of how their child feels cause like... You kinda get why they were so busy but they still care and will protect their respective kids and like ngl it really puts in perspective how Ted is kinda... A bad father in the books....

If I had to categorize then like... Here lol obviously yes Nick really holds a place in my heart (He's the reason I'm trans and I realize my own traumatic experience) but like seriously I LOVE to talk about the parents and Jen and Allie cause I feel I'm the only one who really love them

Stoltenberg: Support from US and NATO Allies to Ukraine benefits our own security interests

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated on Wednesday that alliance members should guarantee long-term arms supplies to Ukraine, as ministers discussed a proposal for a five-year fund of 100 billion euros, according to the official NATO website.

“Support from NATO Allies and support from the United States to Ukraine is something which benefits our own security interests. It is therefore in the security interests of the United States to make a decision and provide Ukraine with ammunition.”

Stoltenberg proposed establishing a 100-billion-euro ($108 billion) fund to help equip Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

“Because by allocating a fraction of our defence budgets we have enabled the Ukrainians to destroy significant parts of the Russian combat capability without putting any NATO soldier, any US soldier, in harm’s way. So this is really something that is in our interest to continue to do.”

Foreign ministers were due to hold preliminary talks on a five-year plan during a two-day meeting as NATO sought to forge a package of support for Ukraine by the July summit in Washington. Diplomats warned many questions remained about the source of the funding and the proposal itself could change dramatically by the summit.

i saw avalon high when i was like 9 or something but all i remembered was allie is king arthur AND the delusional belief that will was guinevere (not true at all <- disappointed) but for some reason despite the explicit jen is not homo happening here every time she and allie talk it's always just the most straight girl will they won't they homo moment. once allie comes out as king arthur it's going to be unbearable
