USA please listen to me: the price of âteaching them a lessonâ is too high. take it from New Zealand, who voted our Labour government out in the last election because they werenât doing exactly what we wanted and got facism instead.
Trans rights are being attacked, public transport has been defunded, tax cuts issued for the wealthy, they've mass-defunded public services, cut and attacked the disability funding model, cut benefits, diverted transport funding to roads, cut all recent public transport subsidies, cancelled massive important infrastructure projects like damns and ferries (we are three ISLANDS), fast tracked mining, oil, and other massive environmentally detrimental projects and gave the power the to approve these projects singularly to three ministers who have been wined and dined by lobbyists of the companies that have put the bids in to approve them while one of the main minister infers he will not prioritise the protection of endangered species like the archeys frog over mining projects that do massive environmental harm. They have attacked indigenous rights in an attempt to negate the Treaty of Waitangi by âredefining itâ; as a backup, they are also trying to remove all mentions of the treaty from legislation starting with our Child Protection laws no longer requiring social workers to consider the importance of Maori childrenâs culture when placing those children; when the Waitangi Tribunal who oversees indigenous matters sought to enquire about this, the Minister for Children blocked their enquiry in a breach of comity that was condemned in a ruling â too late to do anything â by our Supreme Court. They have repealed labour protections around pay and 90 day trials, reversed our smoking ban, cancelled our EV subsidy, cancelled our water infrastructure scheme that would have given Maori iwi a say in water asset management, cancelled our biggest cityâs fuel tax, made our treasury and inland revenue departments less accountable, dispensed of our Productivity Commission, begun work on charter schools and military boot camps in an obvious push towards privatisation, cancelled grants for first home buyers, reduced access to emergency housing, allowed no cause evictions, cancelled our Maori health system that would have given Maori control over their own public medical care and funding, cut funding of services like budgeting advice and food banks, cancelled the consumer advocacy council, cancelled our medicine regulations, repealed free prescriptions, deferred multiple hospital builds, failed to deliver on pre-election medical promises, reversed a gun ban created in response to the mosque shootings, brought back three strikes = life sentence policy, increased minimum wage by half the recommended amount, cancelled fair pay for disabled workers, reduced wheelchair services, reversed our oil and gas exploration ban, cancelled our climate emergency fund, cut science research funding including climate research, removed limits on killing sea lions, cut funding for the climate change commission, weakened our methane targets, cancelled Significant National Areas protections, have begun reversing our ban on live exports. Much of this was passed under urgency.
Itâs been six months.

some nights I really wish my front door wasn't so fucking loud to open/close bc as much as I feel trapped and suffocated in my room on night like these, - and in my house in general, tiny apartments and all that crap that capitalism keeps blessing us with - dealing with questions or concern from my siblings is one of the most unbearable consequences I can picture
#I just know I won't be able to sleep tonight#as I also know that driving around the city wouldn't actually make anything better#there's the gas prices and the general street violence that also make those night drivings not as relaxing as they should be#but even if ignore all of that for a moment#I know damn well where would I end up driving to#bc my fanfic writer driven brain can't have normal coping mechanisms or develop reasonable ways to deal with conflict#every fucking problem I have has a dramatic ass speech ready for it with entire scenes and contexts that fuel the drama even more#no one deals with shit like that this ain't the final 20 minutes of a coming of age movie#my shit won't go away after a long emotional confession of mistakes and full on vulnerability#bc the person I'd make listen to it wasn't written by me and their reaction wouldn't be anything close from what I'd expect to hear#what I'd want to hear#tbh at this point I'm not even sure what I wanna hear from her#maybe I just want to hear ANYTHING from her that isn't this deafening silence that she decided it was enough to show how she felt#maybe I just don't wanna feel like I'm a huge joke for going through all of this by myself while she has no idea of any of this#there's just too much that I don't know where to put bc it should all go to her#I feel like I already did everything I could to make her acknowledge my feelings my hopes my needs my mistakes my whole fucking existence#but she chose to walk as far away as possible at the sight of all of that#I could type until my fingers bleed and shout until my throat exploded in flames but she still wouldn't listen#I wasn't even worth a reaction to her and it kills me every single day#there's no point in any of this rant and I know that#but it's all I have left#this is it

Amid Israelâs ongoing genocidal war on Gaza, maternal healthcare faces excruciating challenges. Deliberate and systematic Israeli attacks on hospitals and medical centers, and critical shortages of humanitarian aid, including medicine, have created a crisis that is endangering the lives of both mothers and newborns. The situation is critical. There are an estimated 50,000 pregnant women in Gaza and some 180 births every day. Israelâs decision in October to prevent food, water, fuel and electricity from entering Gaza created a desperate situation. Inadequate nutrition, exposure to cold and hot weather, the absence of clean water, and poor sanitation weigh heavily on the wellbeing of women and children. The circumstances force them to consume contaminated water, heightening the peril of dehydration and waterborne diseases, particularly among vulnerable groups such as expectant mothers, new mothers and young children. Fuel shortages and the constrained capacity of the few remaining medical facilities exacerbate the difficulty for women in labor to access hospitals. Um Amin, a mother with a few children, confronted with the harsh reality of displacement, recounted her familyâs struggles during Israelâs aggression. As bombs relentlessly fell on their neighborhood, reducing their home to rubble, Um Amin had to seek refuge at a school run by the UN agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) in the northern Gaza Strip taking only very few belongings. She was pregnant. And in the school there was little by way of basic necessities such as clean water, food or even clothes for her children. She considered moving south, where food might be a little more accessible. Her husband refused, causing conflict between them.He feared not being able to return. And while she believed that the Israeli army was attempting to force them to leave, she also felt it was a matter of life and death for her children. âIt was heart-wrenching to witness my kids fighting over scraps of bread. My 4-year-old started stashing away bread in his pocket for later. I was shocked. Before the war, I never slept without knowing my children were fed. Now, most of the time, I am certain they never feel satisfied.â Her entire motivation to carry on became a matter of feeding her children She denied herself food for their sake, but had also to remind herself of the child within her. âThe baby inside me is also a priority, so I had to eat too.â She found the balancing act incredibly challenging, an unbearable burden of motherhood. âI am going to share something Iâve never told anyone I know: I contemplated suicide to escape the weight of this responsibility.â
After the Israeli army unexpectedly stormed al-Rimal, a Gaza City neighborhood, for a second time, Um Amin panicked and fled again, this time going from the UNRWA school to a relativeâs house. But her fear caused her to enter preterm labor. A doctor, at the nearby al-Sahaba medical center, had to resort to a cesarean section. It was hell, Um Amin said. There was insufficient anesthesia and she could feel the scalpel cutting into her body. There was no electricity; the doctor had to use a handheld flashlight to see. Um Aminâs cries of pain could not drown out the crashing of shells around her. The operation left her utterly drained. She couldnât believe she was still alive. She needed nourishment to recover what she had lost during the bleeding and to breastfeed her son. But hunger was stalking Gaza. Food was scarce, there was no white flour in the markets, and Israel was blocking aid trucks from entering the north. âAll I had to eat was bread made from animal feed and water. When I had my other children, I relied on foods rich in animal proteins, but it was impossible this time. The price of meat was five times higher than normal.â Unable to adequately breastfeed her child, she had to find infant formula. But the price was multiple times higher than it used to be and more than she could afford. Eventually, she was forced to buy formula that was past its expiry date. âYou might blame me, but there was literally no other option. I didnât have enough money. It wasnât clumped together, so the doctor told me it could still be used.â She would never find out. Due to the lack of clean water, she prepared the milk with non-potable water from a well. The baby refused to drink.

Hey bestie whats a narrow boat? I saw you tag that on something you reblogged and I'm pretty curious now!
- Terry Darlington, Narrow Dog to Carcassone
A narrowboat (all one word) is a craft restricted to the British Isles, which are connected all over by a nerve-map of human-made canals. To go up and down hills, the canals are spangled with locks (chambers in which boats can be raised or lowered by filling or emptying them with water.) As Terry says above, the width of the locks was somewhat randomly determined, and as a result, the British Isles have a narrow design of lock - and a narrowboat to fit through them. A classic design was seventy feet long and six feet wide. Starting in the 18th century, and competing directly with trains, canal âbargesâ were an active means of transport and shipping. They were initially pulled along the towpaths by horses, and you can still see some today!
Later, engines were developed.
Even after the trains won the arms race, it was a fairly viable freight service right up until WW2. Itâs slow travel, but uses few resources and requires little human power, with a fairly small crew (of women, in WW2) being capable of shifting two fully laden boats without consuming much fossil fuel.
In those times the barges were designed with small, cramped cabins in which the boaters and their families could live.
During its heyday the narrowboat community developed a style of folk art called âroses and castlesâ with clear links to fairground art as well as Romani caravan decor. They are historically decorated with different kinds of brass ornaments, and inside the cabins could also be distinctively painted and decorated.
Today, many narrowboats are distinctively decorated and colorful - even if not directly traditional with âroses and castlesâ theyâll still be bright and offbeat. A quirky name is necessary. All narrowboats, being boats, are female.
After a postwar decline, interest in the waterways was sparked by a leisure movement and collapsing canals were repaired. Today, the towpaths are a convenient walking/biking trail for people, as they connect up a lot of the mainland of the UK, hitting towns and cities. Although the restored canals are concrete-bottomed, theyâre attractive to wildlife. Narrowboats from the 1970s onward started being designed for pleasure and long-term living. People enjoy vacationing by hiring a boat and visiting towns for a cuter, comfier, slower version of a campervan life. And a liveaboard community sprang up - people who live full-time on boats. Up until the very restrictive and nasty laws recently passed in the UK to make it harder for travelling peoples (these were aimed nastily at vanlivers and the Romani, and successfully hit everyone) this was one of the few legal ways remaining to be a total nomad in the UK.
Liveaboards can moor up anywhere along the canal for 28 days, but have to keep moving every 28 days. (Although sorting out the toilet and loading up with fresh water means that a lot of people move more frequently than that.) you can also live full-time in a marina if they allow it, or purchase your own mooring. In London, where canal boats are one of the few remaining cheapish ways to live, boats with moorings fetch the same prices as houses. It can be very very hard for families to balance school, parking, work, and all the difficulties of living off-grid- but many make it work. It remains a diverse community and is even growing, due to housing pressures in the UK. Boats can be very comfortable, even when only six feet wide. When faced with spending thousands of pounds on rent OR mooring up on a nice canal, you can see why it seems a romantic proposition for young people, and UK television channels always have slice-of-life documentaries about young folks fixing up their very own quirky solar-powered narrowboat. I donât hate; I did it myself.
If youâre lucky, you might even meet some of the cool folks who run businesses from their narrowboats: canal-side walkers enjoy bookshops, vegan bakeries, ice-cream boats, restaurants, artists and crafters. There are Floating Markets and narrowboat festivals. Itâs generally recognised that boaters contribute quite a lot to the canal - yet there are many tensions between different kinds of boaters (liveaboards vs leisure boaters vs tourists) as well as tensions with local settled people, towpath users like cyclists, and fishermen. I could go on and on explaining this rich culture and dramas, but I wonât.
Phillip Pullmanâs Gyptians are a commonly cited example of liveaboards - although they were based on the narrowboat liveaboards that Pullman knew in Oxford, their boats are actually Dutch barges. Dutch barges make good homes but are too wide to access most of the midlands and northern canals, and are usually restricted to the south of the UK. So theyâre accurate for Bristol/London/Oxford, and barges are definitely comfier to film on. (Being six feet wide is definitely super awkward for a boat.) but in general Dutch barges are less common, more expensive and canât navigate the whole system.
However, apart from them, there are few examples of narrowboat depictions that escaped containment. So itâs quite interesting that there is an entire indigenous special class of boat, distinctive and highly specialised and very cute, with an associated culture and heritage and folk art type, known to all and widely celebrated, and ABSOLUTELY UNKNOWN outside of the UK - a nation largely known around the world for inflicting its culture on others. Theyâre a strange, sweet little secret - and nobody who has ever loved one can resist pointing them out for the rest of their lives, or talking about them when asked to. Thank you for asking me to.

When Bakugou turned to his side -feeling the hand at his lower back- and went to lift you up on the counter for some kisses, something just... came over you.Â
Your moves were tame at first- rubbing his chest and shoulders at the momentâs reprieve. Just giving yourself sweetly into it. Now with his hands on you, he got really hard really fast, and made some quip about you getting fresh between shared ravishments of love.Â
Sure, you were biting at his lips longer than usual. Sure, you were hanging onto him in a manner far more codependent than you'd ever claim to be. By the look in his eye, he wasn't ever gonna be caught complaining, though. Youâve been stared at and longed after across any room you're in just as wantonly, and he's the first to second your opinion when it matters. He calls you every night he's away for missions, and stays his need to sleep just to be able talk to you while your time zones are flip-flopped.Â
Although, it was rather hungry of you to be so enamored by him today: where even the simplest conversation about the prices of strawberries going up made you fall slack into him.Â
He asks what brought this on~Â
"Just love having you here,â you surmised, âIâ like not doing these things alone."Â
Youâd made the economical offer to cook together and split the bills. Since your diets were fairly similar anyway, you might as well buy in bulk. He was in an indulgent headspace tonight, since heâd been laying on the pet names thick all day; this, his rare day off. Yours is tomorrow, but you were fortunate enough to get off at a decent hour to get the grocery shopping done early- with him.Â
â only Bakugou enforced a strict habit of insisting on taking care of the receipt at the store, but never letting you settle up your half. The âslip of the mindâ he suffered from the first time was no longer an accident, but a routine.
Now, two stacks of four portioned meals each lay side by side prepped in the fridge. Some additional protein packs top your stash to keep on hand between long night drives; small and compact, they help fuel you mid-mission so you donât have another repeat of a blood sugar drop while enroute with a squad of heavyweight heroes making a cross-city trek. Bakugou preferred to pick out treats as a surprise in those meal kits. Trivial as gift giving goes, but it offers some enrichment to your otherwise predictable menu. You havenât seen what heâd snuck in the cart underneath that bag of string beans this time, and just saw their packed away presence in the fridge, teasing you.
But back at the sink where heâd begun to wash up, you ignored their mystery. Now, you just wanted to show him how much he was appreciated.
Yes, something switched in your brain: making meals together, sharing cleanup duties, counting these little moments as blessings and feeling like lifeâs weight wasn't all just on you put you in a mood. You both might not have necessarily gotten too fresh before today, but this wasnât simply a domestic dance with lust.
Katsuki made you food; fuel and comfort all in one. He wonât let you touch that door handle in the car even if youâre the one driving, and calls you Angel Eyes like itâs your name. Heâs sharp and fast to stop you from doing something stupid, and was the loudest voice in the room when your top 20 ranking was announced across the agency conference table. Heâs not just the badass of the agency office who stuns you with his strength and resolve; heâs ready and willing to take a step beside you and do life together.Â
And you in turn want to be soft for him, want to give in and let him take care of you.
He wanted to show you he loved you; down to the grind of meal prepping on a Sunday night. That brand of love made you want to jump his bones.
Your adoring man nuzzles and talks to your neck, "Gettin' sappy again, angel."
He is down bad for you: no matter how sassy he makes the observation soundâ that scratchy, rumble tone doesnât help with your dizzying brain at all.
You offer up your neck a little, scratching along the base of his spine for full, soothing effect.
"Whassâwrong with that?"Â
Bakugou simply purrs back happily.
"Cuz if you start saying shit like that, I'mma start sayin' shit. Shit I won't be able to stop spewing once I start."
"Maybe I don't want you to stop."
He senses your heart peeking through your words. Your eyes carry the message loud and clear, too, though theyâre having a hard time staying open from the headrush.Â
Lifting his heavy head, Bakugou studies you thoughtfully, before stepping into this soft side of yours.
"You don't want me to stop."Â
Of course you donât, so you shake your head.
"You want me to stay."Â
Through a smile, you give your shy agreement.Â
Even more vulnerable, Bakugouâs rare touch of a smile makes its appearance,
"You want me to stay forever? Make sure my lady's fed and happy?â
"Yes," you sink into him, happier than ever.Â
"Looks like I'm staying then. Already made you dinner. Whaddya want me to do next?"Â
"Hmmâ kiss me?"Â
Bakugou leans in to grant you your simple wish- but fully laps at your mouth instead. He means to entice, draw things out, make you want him that much more while giving himself nothing but torture at the same time. Heâs used to making himself sweat; at least this was the fun simmer that didnât burn.
The blonde moans low in his chest when you brush his cheekâs scar with your thumb.Â
"Whaddya want, pretty girl,â Bakugou scoops you in close, memorizing this hot look of need youâre having right in the middle of chores, âWhat, yâwant me to kiss you forever too?"Â
Fixed on his lips -currently teased between his teeth- you give a rare curse that contrasted your sugar sweet demeanor,Â
âHell yes--"Â
Kisses smash between you as sloppily as you want while he pulls you off the counter, over to the couch, and plops you on his lap, where you adjust to a squat over him and followed his persistent pull for you to sit.Â
Pink lovemarks all over your neck, Bakugouâs rough attentions drive his hands to go just about anywhere he wants in a need-driven frenzy. Whether to warm you up or keep himself from perspiring too much? Who's to say.
Suddenly as he growled out his pleasure at your hips fitting up upon his lap, Bakugou fisted your shirt in each palmâ he tugs you deliciously tight as you kiss the daylights out of him.
Through his satisfied chuckles, he thought all was good until he started feeling some pops muffling in his hands.Â
Bakugou knows what's comingâ it's the speed of this onset that freaks him out-
His senses shout at him lightning quick, so it's a miracle that Bakugou immediately threw his hands out, shooting off hot sparks with palms out towards the coffee table- spooking you into a yelp.Â
The panic settled just as soon as it cameâ you stared at each other after the round of pops stopped.Â
Somehow, you were never afraid heâd ever sweat to the point of harming you, so you rolled with it as if he didnât just almost blow you to bits. Must just be excited.Â
Cheeky, you thumbed to your bedroom before mimicking a Dynamight-style âstressballâ in your palm.
"Need your gloves?"
Bakugou rolled his eyes, "Fuck.... Fine."
As if a little coverage on his hands was going to be the end of the world.Â
"I could make a condom joke instead, so be grateful!~"Â
A pruned hand smacked your thigh in protest. âHar. Har.â
As you dismounted him (since you knew he was just gonna be pouty and sulk until he could touch you again), you pulled him up by his neckline so that he followed hungrily behind you and didn't cause a stink over it. In your room, you dug in his designated helmet for his gloves, which he roughly handled and donned while you rounded his strong set of shoulders and kissed him through it across the bits of skin you could reach.
"Can't believe I gotta put these fuckinâ- things on- every time I get hot and fuckin' bothered-âÂ
"We'll figure that out, honey. Hey,â you pull him up to your sightline, âYou still got me?â
Gloved but no less handsome as ever, Bakugou looks far too dazed to try his hand at driving your bike. Better he crash here, with you. He grabs you close; his answer.
â-- then thereâs no complaints here. Itâll work; for now."
He moans kind of high and happy into your kisses on his mouth again. The sound ripples in you, coaxing more love out from your needy fingers and gentle kneading and soft layers that heâs mad he couldn't reciprocate anymore. He voiced this displeasure when he tugged up on your thighs and tipped you onto the bed. Setting a knee between your thighs and capturing a hand in his to pin you, Bakugou firmed up his brows,Â
"Well, maybe I wanna feel you BACK, huh?"
"I get that, Katsu-honey~ we'll-- work on it. Learning curve."Â
One thing the Hero World would be fast to assume about Katsuki Bakugou is that he'd take whatever he wanted from someone making eyes at him; that he'd be dominant and mean and addictive and that one might regret pushing his buttons in the bedroom, because it would be far too much. âBetter not test him, heâd be too rough.â But you hardly think this way, as you have him here:
Here, you look up to him, lovesick and shy, pulling him down because he feels too far away. And tempered as he is when he's in deep, Bakugou reads you and quickly responds in kind. He does kneel over and meets your lips, but freezes like steel as he tries to figure out how to be close but not crush you, despite your yanking for it.
"Katsuki~~"
"I'm not dropping ninety-five kilos aâ dead weight on you, dummy,â he chortled, âNot gonna happen."
"But I want you~~"
"Oh, you want me, huh? Needy girl..." Pets caressing down your cheek, you cup your Katsukiâs arm instead as it trails gingerly down the neck, stopping at your collar, until you force it down its path more towards your chest, and lower.Â
His touch carries very little pressure. Rather, you see him just watching his own movements in a haze- "Pretty, pretty girl."
A thought crosses your mind and you feel confident; if you voice it, heâll answer you honestly.Â
"Have you never dated anyone before, âDynamightâ?"
Without an immediate defense, you're happy to see heâs still letting you guide his hand to slide under your shirt collar and sift along your bra line.Â
Unphased, he answers a gentle -but surprising- ânoâ.
"No high school crushes?" you press, flattered.
"Tch, I went to UA. When would I have had time for that?" Bakugou slides your strap and shirt more to the side as he explores, then kisses the shoulder.
Breathy, you challenge after your happy hums. âKirishima did..."
He only gave a bemused scoff.
âAnd look where that got him. Is he anywhere close to being #1?" asks the #5 ranked Pro Hero.
"No,"
Bakugouâs gloved palms have successfully reached your breasts, pulling the rest up and off with confidence now, eyeing over your skin deliciously.Â
"Guess who is?"
"Y-you~"
"Damn right." Bakugou licks and teases around the space your nipple would lie under the cup, "And yâknow how I did it?"
Sights locked onto him, pulling other side down to sift your underclothes up to his gloved hand's touch.
"I'm a fast learner. That's how you get to be the best. Learn fast, do it right. Gets you results at the top of the board. I'm damn good at learning something I want; 'specially when that something's you."
You canât keep quiet now. Not at this, your forever favorite Pro Hero undressing you with eyes and hands,Â
"Ugh God..."
His hands pawed at every bit of you.
"Name's Katsuki, Angel Eyes. But I'll answer to that if you want~"
Your sexy laugh turned to a moan as he sucked hard at your neck to please you, then worked on getting himself fully topless to match. Once laid back with a delightful little jiggle of everything wonderful, Bakugo's sight lay fixed on you, hands running everywhere he could reach now.Â
For once, he looked a little scattered, unsure what to do next besides pet you and breathe.
You teased a leg up his, and tried prying his hard shell open again, "There's no wrong way to play, y'know~"
"Heh?"
"You look like you're working-" you rubbed your own tits, a handful each, "-trying to figure out your next move. But really, there's no bad option. It's just me."
Understanding, he nodded, but still looked conflicted.
"And I don't bite, promise~" you tried for levity, finally making him chuckle a little and bring life to his smirk.
"Y'might as well, looking at me like that."
"What, this?" you kneaded and pushed your tits together.
"Fuck, me..."
"S'what I'm saying."
Then in a sweet move, Bakugou pulls you up to cradle you by your jawline and kisses you lovingly, then holds your foreheads in place while he takes a couple practiced inhales.Â
Beneath you, you see how excited he is, but also how tense his core has become. It ever so barely trembles.
A muted string of a confession leaves him,Â
"I talk big shit... but... never done this part." âthis part being sex, you now gather- "Sue me if I'm tryna do right by you. I- feels like my heart's literally goinâ a mile a minute here, what the hell..."
"Mine too~" you run a soothing drag of your nails up his arms before smoothing up and over to his waist, "You are doing right by me, though~ just go with what feels right. I just want you, Kats."
"Yeah?"
"I want you,â you assure him with charged-up love and desire for him, â-so bad."
That was seemingly all he needed to clear his head because he fell right down to you, crawling beside you and scooping you up into his arms where he could trail his hand all up the expanse of your back. Somewhere in there, he slipped off your pants and took the chance to feel all up and down your legs with greedy chuckles.
He'd moan what a gorgeous sight and gentle thing you were, his mouth leaving no limb untouched or unpraised. He's also high on the attention you gave him right back, especially when you tipped him onto his back and kissed along the lines of his chest. Bruises and dips mark up his otherwise perfect skin, but you're pleased to have your Katsuki enjoying this if his sighs are any indication of his arousal.Â
Bakugou quirks a brow as he settles back, preparing for you to mount and have your way with him. Consent is king and he doesn't wanna force you to be in a position you don't want.
âYâwant me here?â he asks with hands supporting your waist. âShow me how it's done?â
The sight below you has you ready to pass out on the spot. Heâs handsome and horny and all yours.
"Ready when you are~"Â
The line between Dynamight and the man behind the title is blurred as he settles into a cocky smirk. He's proud and never one to shy away from attention- not even this, so it seems.Â
Bakugou chips his chin up at you with his full support.Â
"Atta girl~"Â
You whimper when you grind on top of him at first: not simply at how hot the first pass is for you after so long, but how wrecked Bakugou looks as he exhales with force. It's an effort to will himself still, and you love the look of it on him.Â
Pride surges in you as you sway yourself over him, checking him over and making sure he's comfortable.Â
âYou got me?â
His sights open again, to you in all your glory. Any edge he carries in his waking hours is gone as he's let comfort and ease take the wheel over his nervous system.Â
Bakugou is pretty damn adorable this way, but you'd only ever say so when he's fully confident- not out on a limb trying something this new with you for the first time. Here, you'd build up his confidence and see how he rises to the challenge. But youâll go slow, above all else.
Fingers find renewed life as he squeezes you,
âI got you,â he says in wonder, getting there, âI gotcha."Â
But right before you lifted up to let him shove his waistline down, he stopped you from sitting with a hard hand at your tummy. In a quick switch, he's cursing nervously about needing to wrap it up.Â
Before he could toss you off, you brought his face back to you with a tender hand, keeping him from getting up altogether and bolting for his bag slung somewhere in the kitchen.Â
"I'm covered on that front, hon,â you stifle any laughing at his earnest pursuit, âPlanned a bit ahead- got in with the nurse a few months back."
Bakugou stills, but then his confusion and concern give way to something deeper. Heâs looking at you, awed.Â
"You're on it-?"
"Mhm. I'm all set, baby. There's no one else, justâ just you. I won't stop ya if you'd feel better with one on, just wanted you to know. "Â
Fondness for the hero-turned-friend-turned-lover made you rake your fingers through that mess of blond hair you daydream of petting and bringing out a groan from him all by yourself,Â
"However you want me: inside or out~"
Recognition heats him up more, "You sexy, fuckin' girl..."
Catching you back in his arms, Bakugou falls in love all over again. Heâs sinking into you sideways, hiking your leg up and over his hip and just holding you closeâ your man is all in for this the moment he's submerged in you.
"FUUUUUuuuuuck yehehehessâŚâ
You're overwhelmed and giddy and full, and find that it's not just you who's laughing by the time you make eye contact. It's thrilling and perfect that you're here -doing it- and youâre obsessed with how close you two are in this moment that it makes your relief palpable and light-hearted.Â
After heated kisses to get him to actually start moving, you're turning every laugh into a love-filled moan: a sound that Bakugo chases with everything in him.Â
Eventually the momentum is like a run, fueling him with the more he hears, and is soon tipping you back to settle on top himself-- in charge and letting you take backseat. By how you gawk up at the show of strength, itâs more than alright with you~
"Oh my God, yes sir!!" you squeal seeing him in charge.
"Yeah? Like this, pretty girl?â Bakugou is in his element, despite having just joined the party moments ago, âYâlike your âBackpackâ on top, makin sure you don't move a fuckinâ muscle?"
Each huff and moan he makes glues your sights to the spot- head dipping to where you are slamming together, which only makes him ramp it up even more to give you a show.
âYeah yeah yeah-- oh FUCK, why haven't I gotten my head out of my ass sooner, you are FUCKING incredible!--â
The sounds Bakugouâs making are passionate and raw, even more so as you're close and you tell him so through near tears. Youâre about to cum, embarrassingly fast for you- but then why wouldn't you when the sight of the love of your life is rocking your world off its hinges and sending you into the best headspin?
"Do it baby, do it do it do it~" he growls the freedom deliciously to youâ so you will your hand to let go of the comforter and start rubbing your clit wildly to get you over the edge, till you're bucking up and siezing through relieved sobs.Â
Bakugou almost damn near chokes on his own shock at the feel, yet only slows a little bit while he holds you down, holds you through it. Once youâre reaching up for his shoulders again -your cue that you're ok and settled - he dives down to your level for some hard kisses as a reward.
Somehow he breaks from the haze of you deliriously giggling for him soon enough, gasping out desperate lines that nearly made your heart explodeâ all while going right back to fighting like mad to go over the edge like you did.
âFuck, I love you.. fuck, I love you, fuck fuck fuckââ
The closer he gets, the hand pinning yours to the bed starts to burnâ which takes your attention.
From watching him fuck you to check your joined wrists is more urgent: Bakugouâs forearm is trembling and visibly sweating all down to the cuff absorbing the rest.
Pretty much sobered you right up by the incoming pain, you're surprised, but you fake it in your bliss and rush him along anyway, until he cries out and shudders into your neck as he finishesâ kissing it lightly in thanks muttering all sorts of nonsense you couldn't make out once he sinks onto you- spent.
âFun, right baby?â
Bakugouâs grunting at every little move of his body.
âSâ... Mâdizzy,â he rasps, âSâit always dizzy?â
Under a spell yourself, unearth some spare sass nâ sweetness from your back pocket,Â
âWhen it's good,â you give your valid opinion, your free hand making your mark along his arm to settle him down, âwhen they listen to what you need, nâ when they can provide- even before any clothes come off. I find it best that way, that isâŚâ
Bakugouâs head lolls to the side, pressing a kiss to the tender space just in front of your ear.
âThat it isâŚâ
Your palm is pulsing. Hot. But still, you let him find rest, wondering more if he was ok since he was never EVER this gushy, but as his release turned into relieved laughs, Bakugou bridged over you to blow your hair back with a playful gust of his lips and gave you some more indulgent kisses. Sweet as ever, you kissed him back and pressed into his thumb working over your still joined hands.
"You like me~" you taunted.
"huh?~~â
"Yâsaid you loved me..."
Katsuki giggled, "Shuddup, dummy."
This prompted your tug to free your hand again, hissing when he released and revealed your palm: tinged with an onset of a blister, splotchy with heatâ
"THE FUCK??!!â Bakugou noticed the damage himself, âDAMMIT, why didn't you SAY I was cooking you alive??"Â
At his apology ridden eyes, you didn't want this hiccup to stall the moment you'd just shared. Flexing each of your hands easily, you shook off any look of pain and beamed up at him instead.Â
"You weren't! It just got a lil hot~" he looked at your face again, confused as to why you're not upset at his repeat offense, "BBQ, amiright?"Â
Your no-longer sweetheart growls down at you, textbook Bakugou BiteTM. "NOT. funny."Â
You laughed at the nature of it all.Â
"I'm ok, baby. Whew... Oh my God~"
Your relief is something fuzzy and delighted to you, but knowing how your darling Katsuki gets in his own head about how fiery his quirk can be, you give him a little wink to quell any fears.Â
It works, as your assurances always do. He admires your sated bones and lays another sloppy smooch on you. A silent promise; heâll take a look at your hand in a bit.Â
In moving up your body to reach his shirt to wipe himself with, he slipped out, still hot and heavy (given that he came already) and undeniably turned on- even in this state. You cringed at the mess hitting the cooler air. Hearing your complaint, Bakugou pecked your cheek and nuzzled you back adoringly.Â
"Love you, angel.â
"I love you too~" your easy reply passes your lips wistfully.
A dry ache in his chest, he made to rise and see about getting you two a little more comfortable, feeling that same wetness too and grumbled about washing his damn hands, but you stopped him with a little whine.
"Stay~~"Â
Crimson eyes softening to yours, the boyish charm returns to Bakugouâs otherwise stoic demeanor. It's a sign heâs clearly plagued in an afterglow buzz.
"Cmon, lemme clean us up. I need the fan on."Â
Even colder? Darn his body temp. "Nnng.."Â
He gets up anyway, but promises his return with a chip to your chin, "I'll stay, gorgeous. Told you so. I'll stay as long as you want tonight."Â
When he came back with the wet washcloth, he coaxed you to stand on your own and go take care of yourself, too. The top sheet is changed and re-tucked in before you got backâ mismatched from what remained on the bed before, but you didn't really care.Â
Heâs made himself comfortable in the bed, only slipping on his boxers you can barely catch the edge of from the sheet in his lap. Itâs only made you fold all over again- proof that your boyfriend knows where you keep your spare sheets in the first place.Â
You slipped on a fresh pair of panties in your pit stop, but went hunting for your loose shirt again, not bothering with anything under. This got Bakugo's attention seems,
"What, you cold?"
"Little bit~"
"Mâover here, then," he patted his chest, you joined him, only to have him sneak his arm under your shirt and tease your tits again, "Don't see why you need this shitty thing while I'm around, just gettin' in my way.."
Giggling and sinking into him, you couldn't fault him. He did have to stay gloved for so long earlier. You laid a kiss straight on his cheek while he had his fill of you.
"Happy girl?" he sings down to you.
Happy girl indeed. "Mhm~ Happy Murder God?"
"Heh-yeah,â Bakugou schooled his breaths to sync to you, âI could get used to this."
"We'll figure out the glove thing."
"...M'sorry for almost toasting you.â
âEh- I can handle a little snap-crackle-pop.â
Bakugou snorts, tapping out the jingle beat for ârice crispiesâ on your shoulder. All's forgiven on that front.Â
âReally shoulda thrown those in the washer," he grimaced above you, looking over at the door where he set them back with his riding gear.Â
"We'll get it later," You snuggled down in his arms, happy to take his leftover heat. âWasherâs all yours~â
"Yeah. Yours is better than mine anyway,â Bakugou leans his head fully back onto your propped up pillows. A contented sigh forces the rest of his muscles to lax. â--piece of crap rattles like it's about to blow up. Yer dishwasherâs better too.â
As he chatters away, he played with the ends of your hair absently.Â
âI thought you were my dishwasher?â
Bakugou pauses his twirls, âOi, I never said I was signing up for that! I was beinâ nice.â
âYes, you were~â you kissed his neck to force his rising growl down. Works every time. You're back to snuggling in his arms with a contented sigh. âIâll do them next time.â
âIf youâre fast enough, slowpoke, then sure.â
You can barely make out your washer thrumming in the next room as well as the even more distant smooth jazz channel streaming from the living room, but remembered your earlier mindset and just hugged him tighter.
This, you'd certainly miss when he went home tonight. Feeling this close, this warm together, having shared something really special and intimate that you couldn't take back for the life of you. It might make things even worse when it comes to your attachment to himâ you two are pushing it at the agency with minimal touches unless there's something really scary that forces his walls down in order to comfort you- or vice versa. After all, your affinity for one another is no oneâs business but your own⌠but you typically are satisfied by his more public ties to you in all the ways that matter- mostly to others in your circle and strangers who he threatens to kick if they keep starinâ at you.
But here, Katsuki holding you is second nature. His true nature. He tells you he cares with every returned text, knowing look, and tender touch he keeps limited in shared company- with you as the sole recipient.Â
You can only wish this could be your life everyday. Where you can maybe even start your own agency down the line somewhere; Japanâs first true power couple who can take names like none other. Launch yourselves higher and higher, work yourselves out of a job, and take a retirement in whatever way looks best for youâ
When you get quiet in your thoughts, he even knows your 'hiding' tell. Your pillow tilts down to try and get your attention, finally demanding your eyes with a question laced with clear thinking,
"You meant stay stay,â Bakugou asked gently, â-didn't you. Not just- for the night.âÂ
You softened⌠nodding ever so much. Leaving room, in case he didn't agree.
What you wouldn't give for him to be your meal prep partner till you both retire from hero work- and then some.
Either nothing went through his mind, or one singular anthem bounced around in there, because all Bakugou did to your little melting expression was kiss you softly, turning you back into the bed, and flopping solidly on top of your chest.
"...gimme 30 minutes. Then let's go get my shit. I call the front room work table."
You're over the moon, and your jaw drops on its own. Heâs so ready- barely even thought it through! Or maybe⌠he was always thinking of it, and was waiting on you.
With that excitement flooding you, you peppered his hair full of kisses until he groaned for you to stopâ only after the first ten...

______________________________________________________________
It was easy with him, too easy maybe, but that's what made it so damn nice.
âSo,â I started, turning to him with a half-smile. âYou want to come up?â
Weâd spent the morning driving through the countryside, talking about everything and nothingâhis races, my job, the ridiculousness of the price of avocados.
His eyes met mine, and I could see the question there, like he was trying to read me. âYou sure?â
It was cute that he was being cautious, but come on, we both knew why I was asking. I nodded, keeping my voice light. âYeah, Iâm sure.â
I wasnât sure if it was the countryside air or just the fact that we had spent the day away from the madness of London, but today felt different.
Calmer, somehow.
I led him up the stairs to my apartment, trying not to think too much about how it had been a while since Iâd let anyone in here.
Literally and figuratively.
âWelcome to my humble abodeâ I said, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
He hesitated in the doorway, taking it all in.
My place was small, but it was mineâbooks, plants, a blanket that I was probably too attached to. It wasnât flashy like the places he was used to, but I liked that about it.
âNice place,â he said, stepping inside and closing the door behind him.
âIt does the jobâ I replied with a shrug, kicking off my shoes. âMake yourself at home.â
He followed suit, slipping off his sneakers and setting them neatly by the door. âIt suits you. Feels⌠grounded.â
I let out a soft laugh. âThatâs one way to put it.â
He leaned against the counter as we headed into the kitchen to grab some water.
But when handed him the glass, and our fingers brushed, it was fireworks all over again. God, how was I still reacting like a teenager with a crush?
âThanks,â he said, taking a sip. âSo, today was fun.â
âIt was,â I agreed, taking a drink to give myself something to do with my hands. âItâs nice to get out of the city for a bit. The countrysideâs got this whole other vibe.â
âYupâ he said, setting his glass down. âNice to just⌠let it go.â
âEven from the racing?â I teased, raising an eyebrow.
âEspecially from the racing,â he chuckled, shaking his head.
There was a beat of silence, and I could feel the shift in the air between us, that tension that had been simmering since our last date starting to bubble up again.
The last time⌠well, things had gotten pretty heated until his phone rang, snapping us both out of it.
It was a close call, but Iâd pulled back, sticking to my rule. No rushing into things. Iâd done that before, and it never ended well.
But this time, he was making it very hard for me to stick by that rule.
I wanted him, and from the way he was looking at me, Iâd take a pretty good guess he wanted me too.
I took a step closer, letting my hand find his. That simple touch was all it took for the tension to skyrocket, and before I knew it, we were closing the distance between us, lips crashing together in a kiss that was anything but tentative.
His hands were on my waist, pulling me closer as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
God, the man could kiss.
It was the kind of kiss that made you forget where you were, who you were, and why you ever thought not doing this was a good idea. His lips were soft, but the way he kissed me was anything but.
There was urgency there, a hunger that only fueled into my own, and I could feel it in every brush of his lips, every tug of his fingers on my shirt.
I pressed myself against him, deepening the kiss as I let my hands roam up his back, memorizing the feel of him.
The muscles there were as solid as they looked, and I couldnât help but think that this man was literally built for this kind of thing.
I mean, I had the image of what he looked like shirtlessâhell, half the world didâbut feeling it under my fingers was a whole different story.
He let out a low groan against my lips, and I was losing myself in the kiss, in him, and for a second, I almost didnât care about anything else. Almost.
He pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against mine as we both caught our breath. âY/nâŚâ
The way he said my name, low and rough, made me want to pull him back in and never let go.
But there was something in his voice that made me pause.
âYeah?â I whispered, my hands still resting on his shoulders, my eyes closed shut.
âI just⌠I donât want to rush youâ he said, his voice soft but serious. âI know last time⌠I donât want you to feel pressured.â
I pulled back just enough to look him in the eyes, my heart doing that stupid fluttering thing again.
Damn, he was really being careful, wasnât he? But I appreciated it. More than Iâd probably let on.
âLewisâ I started, taking a breath. âI want this. I want you. And Iâm not saying that lightly.â
He studied me for a moment, like he was searching for any sign of hesitation. But there wasnât any. Not this time.
âYouâre sure?â he asked, his voice low, almost a whisper.
I nodded, my fingers tracing the line of his jaw tentatively. âIâve never been more sure of anything.â
That was all it took.
He kissed me again, and this time, there was no holding back.
And damn, if it wasnât about time.
We barely made it through the hallway before his lips found mine again, pressing me against the wall with just the right amount of pressure.
God, he was good at this. I could feel the heat between us, the urgency in his touch making it clear where this was heading.
âBedroom?â I mumbled against his lips, not really wanting to break the kiss but knowing we couldnât just do this against the wall like teenagers.
Although, thinking it back the idea didnât sound so bad.
As soon as we stepped inside his eyes landed on the teddy bear sitting in the middle of my bed. Of course.
âWhatâs this?â he asked, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth as he pointed to the bear.
I rolled my eyes, trying not to let him see how much I loved that he was trying to lighten the mood.
âThatâs Mr. Bear, and heâs not going anywhere, so youâll just have to deal.â
âMr. Bear?â He picked it up, inspecting it like it was some kind of artifact. âWell, I guess Iâll have to make sure he approves.â
âHeâs a tough cookieâ I quipped, crossing my arms and giving him a look. âBut you might want to focus on impressing me instead.â
âOh, I plan on it,â he murmured, setting the bear down gently on the bedside table before turning back to me, the teasing glint in his eyes replaced with something much more intense.
He stepped closer, his hands finding the hem of my shirt. âCan IâŚ?â
I sighed, half-annoyed, half-amused. âLewis, if you ask me for permission one more timeâŚâ
He grinned, but there was something softer behind it. âJust making sure, loveâ
âI know,â I cut him off, my voice softer too. âBut trust me, I want this. I want you.â
He held my gaze for a moment longer, then nodded, slipping his hands under my shirt and lifting it over my head.
His fingers grazed my skin, causing goosebumps down my skin as he took his time, clearly trying to be as gentle as possible, maybe even allowing for the time for me to back off.
It was sweet, really, but I was starting to get impatient.
âLewis,â I said, a warning in my voice.
He chuckled, his hands moving to the waistband of my jeans. âOkay, okay. Iâll stop asking.â
âGoodâ I muttered, stepping out of my jeans as he slid them down my legs.
When I was finally standing in just my lingerie, his eyes roamed over me, and I could see the wantâwas it also awe? âin his eyes.
âI donât think itâs fair,â I said, my voice teasing as I reached for the hem of his shirt.
âWhatâs not fair?â he asked, his eyes meeting mine with a tense stare.
âThat youâre fully dressedâ I replied, tugging at his shirt. âEspecially when half the world uses your abs as gym inspiration.â
He laughed then; a deep, genuine sound that made my heart skip a beat. âWell, we canât have that, can we?â
He raised his arms, letting me pull the shirt over his head. And yeah, the man was every bit as ripped as I had imagined.
I already knew what was under there, but damn, it was something else to see it up close like this.
And the tattoos. Those damn tattoos.
I ran my hands over his chest, tracing the lines of his muscles, and he watched me with that same intense gaze, like he was studying every move I made.
It was intoxicating, the way he looked at me, like I was the only thing in the world that mattered at that second.
âBetter?â he asked, his voice low as he leaned in, his lips brushing against my ear.
âMuchâ I whispered, my fingers trailing down to his abs, feeling them tense under my touch.
His breath hitched slightly, and I couldnât help but smile.
It was nice to know that I wasnât the only one feeling a little overwhelmed by this. He might be Lewis Hamilton, but right now, he was just a guy standing in front of me, and I was the one making him nervous.
He softly guided my chin up and smiled, that stupidly soft and loving smile, before leaning into my lips, my hands exploring his back, his shoulders, anywhere I could reach.
He took his time though, his hands sliding up my sides to my back, and only then pausing at the clasp of my bra.
With his lips still hovering over mine he breathed into me. âCan IâŚ?â
I rolled my eyes, but there was no real annoyance behind it. âYes, Lewis. You can.â
And with that â and with his lips back on mine â he undid the clasp, letting the bra fall away as his hands moved over my now bare skin
Finally. And damn, if I wasnât loving every second of it.
His lips started to trail from my collarbone down to the swell of my breasts, taking detours to worship every inch of skin he found on the way.
By the time his mouth reached my belly, I was practically trembling with anticipation.
When his fingers brushed the lace of my underwear, I couldnât help the hiss that escaped my lips.
He paused, looking up at me with those deep, dark eyes that seemed to see right through me. Without a word, he moved back up to capture my mouth with his, as if soothing the impatience brewing inside me.
And I was impatient. The slow, deliberate pace was driving me insane, and he knew it.
I kissed him back hard, my hands roaming down his sides until they found the waistband of his boxers.
I was more than ready to speed things up, and as I slipped my hand under the fabric, I was pleasantly surprised to find him already half-hard.
âGuess the rumors werenât exaggerating,â I murmured against his lips, my fingers brushing over his length.
He responded with a low growl, one hand angling my head as he kissed me again, harder this time, effectively shutting me up.
But he never stopped me from continuing my exploration. I traced the outline of his dick through the fabric, feeling the heat of him, the way he twitched under my touch.
Knowing I could get this kind of reaction from him was a high I probably wouldnât get over for a minute.
When he finally broke the kiss, I met his gaze, silently asking for permission to go further. âItâs all yours, babe.â He chuckled, a sound that made me want to attack him and hide all at once.
I hooked my fingers under the waistband of his boxers and tugged them down.
The moment his dick sprang free, I couldnât help the way my breath caught in my throat.
He wasnât impossibly long, but he was definitely above average, and the girthâGod, the girthâwas enough to make my pulse quicken.
He was watching me, of course, catching every flicker of reaction on my face.
When he noticed my wide-eyed surprise, he lifted my chin, forcing me to look at him. His smile was warm, reassuring even âWeâll take it slow.â
I nodded, grateful for his patience even as it frustrated me. I returned his smile, my fingers wrapping around his length. His breath hitched the moment I touched him, and I couldnât help but bat my eyes at him playfully.
âGosh, youâre troubleâ he muttered, his voice rough with desire.
I grinned, taking my time as I began to pump him, feeling the weight and heat of him in my hand.
When I reached the tip, I leaned down to press a kiss there, delighting in the way he shivered at the contact.
âSensitive here, huh?â I teased, looking up at him.
Whatever retort he had in mind was lost when he dragged me back up to his lips, his hands firm on my hips as he effortlessly maneuvered me onto the bed, pressing my back against the headboard.
His eyes, dark and intense, locked onto mine. âIâm good, love. But we need to make sure youâre readyâ he murmured, his statement a promise to my ears.
Before I could respond, his mouth was on me again, trailing kisses down my body with single-minded focus.
When he reached my inner thighs, he took his time kissing through the fabric of my lace underwear, and I couldnât help the whimper that escaped my lips.
âDonât tease,â I breathed, hating how desperate I sounded.
He giggledâthat soft, infectious sound that Iâd grown to love. âJust making sureâ he whispered, his fingers hooking around the strings on my hips, slowly pulling the lace down and off.
As he finally took in the sight of my exposed cunt, his expression shifted into something almost reverent, like he was savoring the moment. He leaned down, leaving featherlight kisses on my outer lips, the gentle touch driving me wild.
âLewisâ I groaned, the frustration in my voice clear. âPlease.â
He smiled against my skin, his breath hot against my thigh. âPatience, love. Iâm just getting started.â
The first tentative lick sent a shockwave through my body, and my hands immediately grabbed at the sheets, fingers curling tight.
Every nerve on me was on fire, heightened by the slow, deliberate pace he was setting.
And just when I thought I might float away, he hooked an arm around my hips, anchoring me in place. His other hand found mine, fingers intertwining, as if he needed to connect with me anymore.
His eyes never left mine, and even if I wanted, I couldnât really stop watching as his tongue lapped up my clit. A gasp escaping my lips as the pleasure spiked through me.
âFuck,â I muttered, barely coherent.
He continued, his tongue moving with just the right pace, not rushing, just giving me enough to keep me teetering on the edge.
When he felt I was wet enough, he let go of my hand, moving it down to tease at my entrance with a single digit.
âIâll need words from here, loveâ he murmured, his voice muffled. âTell me what you like.â
âDonât stop,â I managed to say, my voice shaky, almost pleading. âJustâdonât stop.â
With a grin, he slid a single finger inside me, his own hiss vibrating through the room as he felt my walls.
âYouâre so tight,â he breathed, a note of awe in his voice. âThis is gonna be heaven.â
He took his time, exploring with just that one finger, feeling around until he found the spot that had me squirming under him. When he hit it, I couldnât help the moan that tore from my throat, my hips bucking involuntarily.
âFound itâ he said with a satisfied smile, his eyes locking onto mine.
Then he added a second finger, the light stretch already making me gasp.
He started a scissoring motion, opening me up, getting me ready. All the while, his tongue didnât let up, lapping at my clit in perfect rhythm, just enough to keep me on edge without pushing me over.
The wet sounds filled the room, mingling with my ragged breathing and his low murmurs of praise.
He was studying me, like he was learning exactly how to make me fall apart under him.
After what felt like an eternity of this sweet torment, he finally pulled back, sitting on his heels.
I watched as he switched to his middle and ring fingers, angling them just right before sliding back into me.
The feeling was delicious, and when he curled his fingers and found that spot again, I cried out, my hips lifting off the bed.
âEasyâ he murmured, his free arm holding me in place as he started a relentless up-and-down motion.
His thumb brushed over my clit, making my breath caught in my throat and my head spin.
I was completely at his mercy, the pleasure building and building until I could hardly breathe.
The wet noises from where his fingers worked inside me were obscene, mingling with the desperate little sounds I couldnât hold back.
He kept on the soft praises, but they were swallowed by my moans as I got closer and closer to the edge.
And then it hit.
My vision went white, and all I could do was hold onto his arm on his hips, feeling the waves of pleasure crash over me again and again. My whole body tensing before it felt like it had shattered into a million pieces.
He didnât stop until he was sure Iâd ridden out every last bit of it, his fingers slowing their movements but never letting up until I was trembling beneath him.
Only then did he pull his fingers out.
When I finally came back to myself, I found him watching me with a look that was equal parts smug and adoring.
He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to my lips as if sealing the moment. âYou okay?â he whispered, his voice gentle now.
I could only nod, too blissed out to form a coherent thought, let alone words.
And then he had the nerve to ask if I had one more in me, and again all I could do was nod.
But apparently, that wasnât good enough for him. âI need words,â he insisted, and barely managed to get out âFucking hell, youâre not leaving me without the rest.â
He laughed, the sound rich and warm, and I wanted to roll my eyes, but I couldnât deny how endearing it was.
How many green flags could one guy have? Annoyingly checking every damn box.
When he went to his wallet, I knew what was coming next.
He handed me the condom packet, giving me that same patient, earnest look, like he was asking if I could handle one more thing.
I reached for him, giving him a few more pumps just to feel him twitch in my hand. Sliding the condom on, I could feel the heat building again, a rush of anticipation making my heart race.
He adjusted our position like he was handling something preciousâplacing a pillow just under my back, so deliberate and thoughtful.
But when he rested his dick on my inner thigh, all those coherent thoughts I had left my brain like it was suddenly a foreign language, and I remembered the girth.
Holy shit. How was I supposed to handle that?
The weight of him, the sheer size, and the fact that I was supposed to take it in?
Was this man sculpted by the gods or what?
And why did I have to get stuck on how considerate he was instead of focusing on the absolute insanity about to happen?
Before I could spiral any further, he came up to me, his lips brushing mine, dragging me back into the present. âWeâll take all the time you need, okay?â his voice like honey, smooth and sweet.
And there I was, rolling my eyes again, even as the warmth spread through me.
I wanted to snap back, something sassy on the tip of my tongue, but then his tip entered me, and all I could do was hiss at the sensation.
He kissed me through the first thrust, his dick practically ripping through my walls, and my hands automatically went to his back, nails digging into his skin, holding on for dear life.
I tried to breathe, tried to adjust to the stretch, but when he finally stopped, I realized he wasnât even fully in yet.
My eyes shot down, and sure enough, he was still focused, his breathing controlled, and all I heard was a low murmur, âGeez, you really are tight.â
I felt his arms on either side of me, solid and reassuring, and I squeezed them gently. His eyes instantly found mine, filled with concern, and I had to smile softly. âMove, Lewis. Just please, move.â
And then he did, thrusting into me with an agonizing slowness, deeper with each motion, until finally, I felt his balls press against my ass, and he sighed like heâd found what he was looking for.
My mind, however, was a different story.
Holy shit, how was I still breathing? I was split open in the best way possible, and all I could think was how the hell was this man real.
I was sure each thrust was going to create its own memory, and I was teetering between wanting to scream at the top of my lungs and begging him to go even harder.
But there was something about how he movedâdeliberate, careful, like he was savoring every second, every reaction I gave him.
The way he looked at me, like I was the only thing that mattered in the world, was enough to push me over the edge again. And I could tell he was holding back, trying to keep control, trying to make sure I was okay, even as his own need was practically vibrating through his body.
God, Iâm so screwed, and not just in the physical sense.
I was falling, fast and hard, and there was no stopping it now.
Not when he felt this good, not when he was this good to me.
Every thrust made me crave more, made me cling to him tighter, made me want to lose myself in him completely.
Lewisâs focus was entirely on me, and it was like he was memorizing every gasp, every twitch, every reaction.
It was overwhelming, in the best possible way, but still I needed more.
I wanted to be the one in control, to feel him from a different angle, to see what this manâthis ridiculous, considerate, and sexy manâwould do when I took the reins.
Leaning into his ear, I whispered, âI want to ride you.â
The words were barely out of my mouth before I felt him tense beneath me, half-worried, half-hopeful.
It was adorable, really, how he tried to mask his excitement with concern.
âAre you sure about that?â he asked, and there was that hint of amusement in his voice, but I could also hear the edge of desperation.
Did he really want this as much as I did, maybe even more?
âWeâll take it slow, right?â I replied, trying to keep my voice steady despite the pounding in my chest.
I sat up, pulling away just enough to guide him to sit on the bed, and as I moved into his lap, I could feel his heart on his chest.
Slowly, I lowered myself onto his dick, feeling every inch stretch me again, filling me completely.
My lips parted in an involuntary gasp, my eyes squeezing shut as I adjusted to the sensation.
His hands found my waist, gripping tightly as if grounding himself, and when I finally opened my eyes, he was staring at me with that same soft smile that always managed to break through my sarcasm.
I couldnât help but smile back, pulling him into a kiss, the kind that had me wrapping me around him.
I started moving, rocking back and forth, feeling the friction build and spiral.
The kiss broke when he moaned against my lips, a sound that only spurred me on, making my moves harder, seeking more.
His hands guided me, helping me rise and fall on him, and every time his tip brushed against my cervix, I saw starts. It was so intense it almost bordered on pain.
I let out a cry, my body trembling at the sensation, and he immediately stilled, concern flashing in his eyes.
âAre you okay?â he asked, and it was almost ridiculous how serious he was, but also incredibly sweet.
I looked down at him, half breathless, half in awe of how he managed to be so considerate, even in the heat of the moment. âGoing to be even better when you drag that other orgasm out of me, like you promised.â
That was all the encouragement he needed. He started to thrust up and I matched him, riding him faster, until I could feel that familiar tension coil tightly in my belly.
I wasnât going to last much longer, and by the way he was groaning beneath me, neither was he.
A few more thrusts, and I stilled, holding him down by his abdomen, feeling the shift in him as he realized what was happening.
He searched my face, and then his expression shifted as he felt my walls clenching around him, my legs shaking as I came undone.
I couldnât keep myself upright, collapsing into his chest as wave after wave washed over me.
Lewis took that moment to start thrusting again, riding out my orgasm, and I was vaguely aware of the way he was holding me, like he didnât want to let go.
I could feel his rhythm faltering, and it wasnât long before he let out a deep grunt, his fingers digging into my waist as he held me in place and his moans were all I heard.
We were both breathing hard, tangled together, and for a moment, everything else faded away.
It was just us, in this moment, and I couldnât help the ridiculous surge of affection for him.
Who knew Iâd end up here, wrapped up in the arms of a guy like Lewis? But here I was, completely wrecked and somehow, already craving more.
As I eased off his lap, I heard a low moan escape his lips, and I giggled as I looked down at him, sprawled out on the bed with a stupid grin plastered across his face.
"Enjoying yourself, are we?" I teased, reaching down to carefully remove the condom, trying to catch the mess inside. He didn't even respond, just lay there looking like the cat who got the cream.
I slipped off to the bathroom, tossing the condom in the toilet before taking a moment to peeâbecause there was no way I was dealing with a UTI when I had Lewis to myself like that.
And just that thought was ridiculous on its own.
When I came back into the bedroom, Lewis immediately pulled me into his arms, almost like he was afraid Iâd vanish if he didnât hold on tight enough.
He was sweet in the aftercare, his voice soft as he asked, âHow was it? How do you feel?â
I could hear the concern laced in his tone, but that grin was still there, tugging at the corners of his lips.
It was impossible not to smile back, even as I decided to mess with him a little. My fingers wandered lower, tracing the lines of his lower waist, and I looked up at him with a teasing glint in my eyes.
âYou knowâ I started, trying to keep a straight face, âI always thought you were a shower⌠Iâm glad to see youâre also a grower.â
Lewis giggled, his chest vibrating under my chin as he shook his head in mock disbelief. âReally?â
âYeahâ I grinned, pressing a kiss to his chest. âI mean, itâs only fair to acknowledge all of your⌠talents.â
He shook his head again, but I could see the satisfaction in his eyes. âAnd here I thought I had you speechless.â
âYou didâ I assured him, my fingers dancing across his skin again. âBut I canât stay quiet for long.â
He chuckled, pulling me closer, his hand running up and down my back in soothing strokes. âIâm glad. Itâs part of your charm.â
I rolled my eyes at that, but there was no denying the warmth that spread through me at his words. âYeah, well, youâre not so bad yourself.â
His grin softened into something more tender as he looked down at me. âYou make it easy to be sweet.â
I pretended to look annoyed, but the smile on my face gave me away. âOkay, that was disgustingly cute. But fine, Iâll allow it.â
âOh, youâll allow it?â he teased, his hand coming up to gently brush my cheek âWhat if I want to be disgustingly cute more often?â
I hummed thoughtfully, pretending to consider it. âI guess I could get used to it⌠as long as you keep up the other stuff too.â
He giggled again, that carefree sound that I was quickly falling for. âDeal. But just so you know, Iâm planning on sticking for a bit.â
I smirked, resting my hand on his chest. âI think I can manage that.â

SFW ~ Angst
Warnings: Brief/occasional swearing, mentions of abuse, depression, extreme violence, trauma
ââââĄâââââââââââââ Beginning Your body ached. You didnât know if it was because you were starving, or if it was your muscles and joints crying out for help from your most recent fight. It was a couple of hours ago, and it was rough. Your previous owner had disowned you when he found a new pup to use and abuse for profit. Part of you was happy, the years of abuse and ruthless training were over. The other part of you was absolutely terrified. You had no more food, no treats, no worn-out bed for you to sleep on, and no roof over your head.
Youâd been homeless for nearly a year. You gave up on keeping exact track months ago. Your slightly sunken stomach never ceases its eternal growl, constantly yearning for food. Dumpster diving has become a part of your lifestyle. You had managed to find some food, albeit moldy and/or coated in garbage juices, but it was still food. âFood is fight fuelâ was constantly echoing through your head, while you fought off the sickness going through your head as realization set in that you were literally eating garbage. Sometimes, you even wondered if food was even worth it. You werenât fighting as much as you used to. Sometimes you were suddenly assaulted by other stray fighter dogs as well, forcing you to live in constant paranoia, anxiety, and a never-ending feeling like you had to fight.
There were times that you even lashed out at strangers because of this constant fear. Domesticated dogs would find themselves abruptly thrown into a fight when you were around. They would leave with scratches, bites, bruises, and even chunks of flesh missing due to your fierce bite. In the underground fighting scene, you were most known for how gnarly the wounds from your bites would be.
This would result in animal control being called on you. But youâd evaded them countless times, which meant that you were far from where you originally came from. You would bounce from alley to alley, town to city. You were far from home if you could even call where you came from âa homeâ.
Though you were far from old enemies, you still made new ones. You were so used to lashing out that you were still getting into fights, but now you were getting into fights with fight dogs you didnât even know.
Some days, you were tired. So tired, you just wanted to lay in your current alleyway and just rot. Let the bugs eat away at you, sometimes you even want to turn yourself into the pound. At least there you would have food in your belly and a semi-warm place to sleep. On other days, you were mad. So mad, you just wanted to paint the town red with any kind of blood, even your own.
Today was a tired day. You were lying against a wall, it was raining. Rain would be the closest you had to being bathed. Your rotted clothes were soaked and falling apart, your hair sticking to your face and skin as you stared at the opposing wall. Your eyes had nothing behind them, you were lost in your little world. Your happy place.
You imagined yourself in a cabin, or a cottage, just somewhere secluded and cozy. You had a loving partner, and pups of your own to take care of. A garden in the backyard, full of fruit, vegetables, and herbs. A flower garden in the front yard, full of daffodils, tulips, rose bushes, and trumpet lilies. You wore soft clothes like they were made of clouds. In your happy place, you were warm. In your happy place, you were safe.
Unfortunately, you were ripped out of your happy place by a smell. A familiar smell. Multiple familiar smells. Your heart had already started to beat rapidly, and the sense of adrenaline you had when in the fighting ring was coming back, slapping you in the face. You shifted your position from laying back against a wall to standing up and ready to fight, your teeth already beginning to show and a low growl slowly leaving your throat.
Familiar smells were never good, it meant that someone who had been made an enemy was close. Another fight was about to happen. You could hear men chatting with each other, though it was muffled by the ringing in your ear as your brain was now filled with nothing but adrenaline, panic, and one word. Fight.
⌠. ăâş ă . ⌠. ăâş ă . âŚ
Price was going on his weekly walk with his boys, all rescues. His home had become somewhat of a mini rehabilitation center. His pups, although fully grown dogs, were his pride and joy to be around. Gaz was his first rescue about seven years ago, Soap was rescued about two years after Gaz, and Ghost had been rescued three years before today. Price, himself, was a retired military veteran.
He enjoyed going on walks with his pups, he found it to be a nice bonding experience. Although today was rainy, it didnât stop the group from following tradition. Gaz loved the rain, the sound and the feeling of raindrops hitting windows, umbrellas, or even himself was beyond calming for him. Soap didnât particularly like rain, it mostly made him think of those unbelievably sad scenes in movies that involved rain, like an intense breakup. Ghost was neutral about it.
But Ghost found himself focused on something else, a smell. He glanced over at Soap, who could also smell this sudden scent. âStop.â Ghost spoke firmly, grabbing Priceâs shoulders and looking at the rest of the group. âStay here, I smell something.â âGhost, I donât want you getting hurt-â Price protested, only to be interrupted by Soap. âStay, somethinâs here thaâ could rip out your throat.â
Gaz was worried as well, even though the scent wasnât as familiar to him as it was to Ghost and Soap. He could smell a large amount of adrenaline and even panic or fear mixed in.
Ghost slowly walked up to the scent source and braced himself, slowly watching as a familiar face came into view. The two of you had been through plenty of fights together, each parting putting up a massive fight. You were snarling at him when he approached you, your body unconsciously moving closer to the wall, further away from him as he grew closer. Your hollow, starved appearance had him taken aback. You looked terrible. You were coated in scabs, bruises, and open wounds that had miraculously not gotten infected.
Your heart was beating so fast, that both you and Ghost could hear it. He had his hands up, his palms open as he showed he wasnât looking for a fight. That didnât stop you though. All you could see was all those fights, years ago. Ghost snarling back at you before he would nearly tear a chunk out of you while you almost ripped both of his ears off. You lunged at him with a loud bark, tackling him as you began to scratch and bite at him.
The group was startled, and terrified. They would all run to Ghost as they tried to get this rabid dog off of him. Of course, four men against you was an unfair fight and you were swiftly removed from the fight.
Soap held you against the ground, crouching over you as he pinned both of your arms behind your back as you continued to snarl and attempt to bite. You panted and stared at them with wide eyes, mostly focusing on Ghost and Soap since they were enemies from the past.
âYouâre gonna fucking kill me, arenât you..?â You spoke shakily, to either of the boys. Soap could feel how strong and deep your breaths were as you hyperventilated.
All the men shared a glance of worry, Soap spoke up, âWeâre not those dogs anymore.â Ghost would nod in shared agreement. âYou donât look so good, since the last time I saw you.â He looked down at you, noting how your stomach churned from hunger, how tired your eyes were, and your slightly raspy breath. Even your recent wounds worried him, some nearly looking like early stages of infection.
You grunted as you struggled under him, âYeah, well, âm happy to see you guys living the high life.â You grumbled, the other dogsâ ears twitching as they heard a slight crack in your voice. You couldnât ignore it, you were jealous. They didnât look as tired as they did at your last fight, not on edge all the time, they looked well fed, and they smelled good too. And worst of all, what made you want to lash out at all of them, even their owner, was the fact that they looked happy with this new life. The life that you desired that always seemed to be out of reach.
All the men looked back at Price, Gaz included, with one question in their eyes. âCan we keep them?â
⌠. ăâş ă . ⌠. ăâş ă . âŚ
Taking you back to their home was a fight in it of itself. You couldnât help but be scared. Maybe they were all tricking you, maybe they were gonna lock you up in their house and sell you off to another owner in the underground fighting scene. Maybe they really were going to kill you. You only felt slightly safe with Gaz, but thatâs because he didnât look as scarred a fighter as Ghost and Soap, and his eyes held a safer gaze than the other two. He would hold your hand on the way home, firmly but protectively. However, he only did this after you attempted to run away from the group about 4 times.
Arriving at the Price household, there was an overwhelming amount of smells. Everything smelled like all the boys, but individually and in one unit all at the same time. You would stay close to the front door at the entrance, scared to step one foot further into the house. You still didnât know if it was safe or not. Price respected this, though. He had Gaz let go of your hand so you could settle into the house at your own pace. The look of fear in your eyes was one that he was familiar with, heâd seen it in all his other boys when he first brought them home.
He had the boys all continue on with their night, only giving you directions to the bathroom in case you needed it at some point.
As time went on, your legs would grow tired of just standing. You remained seated, close to the door as you watched the household live out their lives. Price would only stop by you once for the night, and it was to give you a late-night snack and to wish you a good night. He had set down a plate with pieces of watermelon and a glass of water. He left after that, supposedly going to bed. The boys would stay up a bit later, they would watch you in secret. But you were quickly able to tell they were spying on you, however, you let them continue.
You saw it as a way to test if they were trustworthy. Your ears slightly twitch as you listen to their whispers.
â...how do you know themâŚ?â Gaz would whisper, curiosity lacing his voice. â...Ghost and I have had a few tussles with âem years agoâŚâ â...Fierce dog⌠donât underestimate themâŚâ Ghost grumbled in reply, Soap nodding in agreement. â...Nearly took mah whole face offâŚâ Soap chuckled. â...They almost got my earsâŚâ Ghost added.
You would faintly smile at the warning of underestimating you as a fighter dog. But then you were reminded that you were a fighter dog. And a successful one. Any moral being would never want to be a successful fighter dog. That meant you were scary and either could have killed or even mutilated another dog. Memories of all your fights would flash across your mind, like a blinding camera shot. Your successful ones, the ones where you would lose and your owner showed you what bad dogs get for losing. The bits of compassion you would feel for your opponent as they bleed out, or yowled in pain as their bones broke, pellets of skin torn off, or their bleeding gums from when you knocked nearly all their teeth out.
You wanted to hug them, apologize to them, tell them that you wished you could fix them. Only to have those moments of kindness wiped from your mind as the shrieks and cheers of your owner and the people who bet money on you were released into the air.
Coming back to reality, you were perplexed when you didnât hear the whispers anymore. Taking a chance, you glanced up at the boys. Only to see that they were now staring at you, curious and worried. You didnât know why they were staring until you heard a soft pit-pat against the floor beneath you.
Glancing down, you saw little droplets. Your hand instinctively raised to your face, feeling little beads of tears and the streaks they left behind on your face. You would quickly smear your tears away and shoot the dogs a mean growl before reluctantly stuffing a piece of watermelon into your mouth. You just wanted something else to focus on aside from the stares you were getting right now.
An hour later, the men had all gone to sleep and you had eaten all the food Price had given you and drank all the water he offered. You stayed awake throughout the whole night, however. You still didnât trust anyone, believing the house was a trap.
Morning arrived, your eyes tired but still open as you didnât want to lose your guard. Price was the first one up, yawning and scratching at his chest as he walked into the room. He would glance down at you, smiling when he saw youâd eaten all your food.
âFood was good, yeah? Donât worry, Iâll get you some more soon.â He chuckled, taking your empty dishes away and heading into the kitchen.
You felt awkward now, just sitting there as Price had begun to cook breakfast. You would quietly stand up and slink into the kitchen, sitting on the cold tile as you would watch him from a random corner of the room. It had been about ten minutes before Price would look over his shoulder to check on you, only seeing that you werenât in your previous spot. He would then glance down at you in your new spot, chuckling to himself.
âGot bored of the old spot?â He asked before going back to cooking. He didnât expect you to be speaking right out the gate, all the other boys were like that too when he first took them in. After a few minutes, Gaz would walk in, rubbing at his eye. A big smile formed on his face as he smelled the currently cooking food. âSmells good in here, Price.â He would then finally look at you, mildly surprised you had moved but he would regain his smile.
Waving at you, he would approach you but keep his distance. âDid you sleep well last nightâŚ?â You silently stared at him, your restlessness very obvious, especially in your eyes. âDid you sleep- at all last nightâŚ?â He looked concerned, his brows only furrowing more when you shook your head no. â...Too scared?â You stayed quiet. âThatâs okay, Ghost and I were like that too.â He smiled at you. You couldnât deny it, he was a comforting ball of sunshine to you.
âI could set up a bed on the couch for you, I could even keep the telly on for you if you like falling asleep to that sort of thing.â You remained quiet as he talked to you, causing him to let out a slightly amused but comforting huff. âThatâs okay, you can think about it during breakfast.â
Breakfast included food that was the most delicious food you had devoured in years. French toast, fried eggs, bacon. You would quietly inhale the first actual meal youâd had in a long time, everyone else watching you at the kitchen table, some trying not to laugh at your eagerness.
You awkwardly stared at everyone else, wiping away some yolk on your mouth with your hand. Price chuckled, âThat reminds me, we ought to give you a bath today and get you some new clothes.â
⌠. ăâş ă . ⌠. ăâş ă . âŚ
You awkwardly sat in the tub as Gaz would scrub a sudsy sponge along your back. Price was washing some clothes, making sure the scent was cleaned out so you had no trouble with wearing them.
âDonât worry, I was like this when Price first took me in.â He laughed a little. âQuiet, scared, and I didnât know if this place was my permanent home. But it is my home, and itâs gonna be your home too.â He smiled at you, now rubbing shampoo into your hair. â...whatâs it like?â You looked up at him. âYâknow, living here? Whatâs it like?â
Gaz thought for a bit, also trying to make sure none of the shampoo got in your eyes. âWell, itâs nice. Good food, good clothes, good comfort. Price will sometimes pick up our favorite snacks for us, heâll do that for you too, you just need to ask him or write it on the grocery list. We go on weekly walks around the block, sometimes we go to the park which is really fun. Especially with Soap, he really likes to play games at the park.â
That surprised you, you never took Soap to be a âfun games at the parkâ kind of dog. Well, that could also be because you never got to see him or Ghost as a domesticated dog, your only memories of them being in the fighting rink. Maybe they have changed. Maybe you should give them a chance to show you theyâve changed.
Maybe they were doing that all along since they found you, only holding you down instead of attacking you in response to being attacked by an old foe.
The bath was eventually drained and you were dried off with a towel, Price coming in with a pair of folded up clothes, a t-shirt and some sweatpants. You were left alone in the bathroom to get dressed, also to let you just have time to yourself.
After a few minutes, you stepped out of the bathroom in your new attire. You couldnât lie, the clothes were beyond comfy and were nice and warm. Probably fresh out of the dryer. The rest of the boys were on the couch, watching a show on the TV. You would stare at them before slowly beginning to move your legs towards the couch as well.
They would notice your approaching, but wouldnât bring any extra attention to it. They all remember their first time trying to get comfortable in the new home. It honestly warmed their hearts watching you hesitate on where to sit before eventually picking a spot and huddling into the soft pillows.
Price was already dressed for the day and was writing down the current shopping list before slipping his shoes on. âOy, Gaz, youâre coming with me for groceries today.â He called out to the couch, Gaz promptly getting up and putting his own shoes on. He waved to you and the other two before stepping out the front door, Price giving a wave as well. âWeâll be back in 30.â
You sat there in silence, now stuck with your past enemies. There was tension, no doubt. At least, thatâs what you felt. You were the one who was constantly looking over at the boys, a nervous sweat forming on your forehead. The two were just sitting there, watching the commercials play and pass by.
Now that the only pacifists in the house were gone, they were going to pounce at any second. You were sure of it. At any given moment, they were gonna do it. So you sat there, in a state of constant fear and bracing yourself for a fight you didnât even know would happen.
Ghost noticed your condition, Soap a few seconds later would see it too. â... you okay, pup?â Soap would ask, seeing the little bits of sweat on your skin. âYouâre scared.â Ghost stated, looking deep into your defensive form. âYou donât need to be, youâre safe now. We all are. We arenât the same dogs you fought those years ago.â
They continued to watch you, watching as you stayed quiet and just stared at them expectantly. âWe know youâre also noâ the same dog from those fights. Ye dinnae have a choice, only doinâ thaâ for your own survival. Like us.â Soapâs eyes were full of empathy and concern.
âNo need to be scared. Itâs safe here.â He smiled at you, slowly reaching out to you to rub your shoulder.
You only saw the worst in people, you would see a possible future where he was reaching out to strangle you instead of comforting you. You thought you could see his teeth start to bare, maybe he was snarling at you.
You felt like you were back in the fighting ring. You could feel the adrenaline begin pulsing and coursing through your veins.
⌠. ăâş ă . ⌠. ăâş ă . âŚ
You didnât know how you did it, it went by so fast. The last thing you saw was Soapâs teething smile and his hand. Now you were pressed up against a wall, hyperventilating at the sight of what you just did.
First, you grabbed his arm, throwing him to the ground before you began to bite and tear at his flesh and clothes. You woke up when Ghost pinned you to the ground, keeping your wrists together so you couldnât hurt anyone or yourself. You scrambled away from him and coward into a corner.
You thought you were doing good, only a day into this house and you were doing so good. You didnât feel like a good pup, not anymore. You werenât deserving of this house, these new clothes. the food that resided in your stomach. You were a bad dog. There was no way you could look any of the boys in the eye now. Not after what you did.
Lost in a tsunami of your thoughts, you couldnât hear Ghost trying to reassure you, that it was normal for an outburst like this to happen. He, himself, did it to Price. He brought Soap to the bathroom, taking out the first aid kit along with a few extra bandages. Living in a house with a bunch of retired fighter dogs, the first aid kits would be a bit more extreme than a regular, everyday one.
When he returned to check on you, to tell you that Soap was going to be okay, he didnât see you in your corner. Not even the spot you were in on your first day here. But he saw that right next to the spot, the door was left open.
They lost you. ââââĄâââââââââââââ End

I'm not sure how I found your account but I have loved all of your creations. They have fueled my hyper-fixation for Call of Duty.
When it comes to your Monster au, are there any characteristics from the team that you see them having that you haven't been able to draw out in a storyline?
that's such a good question omg...it'd probably be all the ways that the 141 grew up.
(warning - lots of reading under the cut)
Price is a dragon hybrid, which means that historically his kind has not had amazing relationships with humans or each other. Close-knit dragon communities are still really rare, since instinctively they're extremely territorial and require space to themselves and a way to assert their own strength and hoard. But, sort of by government mandate, dragons need to keep within designated areas in case they accidentally torch a human city y'know. So he did grow up in a colony, but all the families there tended to keep to themselves, exempting mating season and the occasional territory fight. He left to join the military when he was pretty young, all things considered, and I think he did it mainly out of boredom. They were happy to have him of course - dragons are massive powerhouses with long lifespans, and very rare in their ranks (they dislike being ordered around). Price would like to think he's destined for a quiet life, but his job really let him wreak havoc and he took pleasure in indulging that primal urge of his. He grew out of that destructive phase though - nowadays, his priorities consist of taking care of his team.
--
Soap is a werewolf, which is a monster that subscribes to the 'it-takes-a-village' kind of mentality for raising a child. The Mactavishes are an average werewolf pack, with Soap, his parents, his grandparents, and his two sisters (one older, and one younger). Wolves are social creatures, but the older generation likes to stay within their own kind, if only for safety reasons. Soap's always been a go-getter though, so joining the military for a chance to see more of the world just made sense to him. Full-blooded werewolves are pretty sought after in the ranks, but they're a relatively newblood kind of monster. Superiors will often do their best to tame wolves and bring them to heel, with differing levels of success. If you win their loyalty, they're yours for life, but do them wrong and the pack will turn on you. Because of that danger of mutiny, officials will tend to keep it to one werewolf a team, despite them being stronger together.

Harpies are typically solitary and aren't very present parents, since they'll raise their children until they're 16 then dump them somewhere and tell them to survive. It sounds ruthless to most, but it's just how their culture is and it's how Gaz grew up. He's a resourceful type, and joined the military as soon as he could. Harpies are actually one of the more common monsters used in the forces, since their eyesight and wings make for pretty amazing scouting forces/snipers. In saying that though, there's no automatic comradery to be found between two harpies on the same team - in fact, they'll usually be combative at worst and cold/distant at best. Historically, harpies have found pride in their own independence, so being forced to interact/work together can be seen as an insult. Gaz himself is pretty charismatic and cool-headed, but even he'd get irritated if he was forced to share space with another harpy. He was shipped around between teams a lot as a lead sniper before he got promoted and met Price.
--
Simon is a wraith, but before that he was a normal human, if a bit freakishly strong. His time in the military was an escape from his home life, and after he became a wraith, that distance between himself and the human world only grew. Not a lot is known about wraiths, because the only way you'd be able to study one is if they let you and wraiths are inherently extremely private creatures with a tendency for extreme bursts of violence. They're also almost impossible to catch/imprison, so Simon's an asset the military is determined to hold onto.
#ooft that was a lot#i may tweak their stories a little bit as i go#but this is the general vibe for all of their backstories#askbox#anon

Ghostâs hands were covered in blood.Â
Although this was nothing out of the ordinary for a trained soldier like him, as heâd washed away many gallons of blood off of him in the time where heâd been on the field, this was different.Â
It wasnât the enemyâs blood that covered him, no. It wasnât even his soldiersâ blood.Â
It was civilian's. People that had been going about their day. Casualties in the mess that had erupted with a single missed bullet.Â
It was his fault.Â
If he hadnât let himself grow distracted with the banter that erupted from his ear piece, if he had paid more attention to the target Laswell had given him, he wouldâve been able to game end them right there and then like he had many before, instead, the bullet lodged right in his chest above the heart, enough time to stun the man but not enough to stop his other hand from clicking the detonator.Â
The chaos that had followed was indescribable. He could still feel his ears ringing from the explosion that had occurred, the screams of the people he could have saved, the panicked shouts and roars from Price as he ordered them about.Â
Ghost followed the order mindlessly, his body on some type of autopilot that had been turned on after the shock, taking out the other targets that had been lingering around until the bomb had gone off, his emotion-fueled mind taking out itâs anger on them by tearing them apart in the most gruesome ways possible.Â
But he knew that covering himself in as much enemy blood as he could wouldnât wash away the innocentâs.Â
It wouldnât wipe away the countless deaths heâd caused.Â
But as he watched his final victim bleed out on the ground, ignoring their screams of pain and the insults that were being hurled at, Soapâs voice came through his earpiece.Â
âBastardâs gone. Cannae find him anywhere.â
Ghostâs blood boiled, combat boot slamming down onto the manâs head to finally shut him up, a last act of mercy and a way to express the anger rushing through his veins.
Even after theyâd retreated back to the base theyâd made theirs in the outskirts of Berlin during their mission there, Ghost couldnât shake his disgusting feelings off his shoulders.
Heâd never been the one to cause such a massacre like this. It was always some rookie or other, never a seasoned Lieutenant like him.Â
Soap and Gazâs conversation was just static to his ears, his mind spiralling as he thought about all the people around the city who had lost a family member today because of him.Â
It wasnât the first time in a mission where thereâd been casualties. But never as many as this. And never had it affected him like this.Â
The empathy heâd lacked almost all his life had suddenly made itself known in his mind, the little voice gnawing at the back of his head as it fed him scenarios linked to the mission theyâd just failed, impossible if he were to think about them clearly, but right then, he couldnât stop his heart from beating as fast as it could against his ribcage as he thought about the possibility of you or Tommy being involved in something like that, of having to carry the guilt that would no doubt haunt him all his life if that were to happen.Â
He fucking hated it.Â
Heâd been deep in thought when they finally arrived at the base, the humvieâs doors opening as the other three stepped out, Price the only to take note of Ghostâs dishevelled state.Â
âLieutenant.â
âŚ
âGhost.â
âŚ
âSimon!â Along with the bellow of his real name, the captainâs hand came down to slam onto one of the leather seats, finally pulling Ghost out of his stupor. âWeâre here.â
âCopy.â He grunted, pushing himself out of the car and following his captain and the other two back to base mindlessly, almost like a zombie.Â
It didnât get better from there. Even as Laswell reassured him that it hadnât been anyone's fault, that they hadnât planned on the man wearing a gun vest, that even if he had succeeded in shooting him down, he wouldnât be the only one with a detonator as found in one of the manâs lackeyâs front pocket, that the explosion would have happened either way⌠He couldnât help but still feel horrible.Â
âAny idea where he is, then?â Price asked, looking through some of the files theyâd been given on their runaway.Â
âProbably went back home.â Gaz suggested, pointing out the address for a flat he had somewhere in the outskirts of Manchester.
âCalled the airport, they told us a man with similar build and looks boarded a plane for Liverpool over two hours ago. Heâs probably already out of the airport.â
Soap clicked his tongue, looking down at the address Gaz had mentioned before. âThatâs his mawâs flat. Reckon heâd put âer in danger?â
âDoubt heâd care. He was happy to kill countless people for his cause, including his men and himself, whatâs one more?â Ghost grunted, throwing the file down and leaning back in his chair, sharp gaze focused on the digital map Laswell had brought up, looking at the location of the terroristâs house.Â
âItâs not near any major buildings and isnât close enough to the city to cause a commotion.â Laswell noted as she looked over the hills and lakes that surrounded the small house. âGood hiding place.â
âAnd if heâs not there?â Gaz asked, handing all the files back to Laswell, who gave him a solemn look.Â
âWe keep trying. Go get ready, Iâll call for a heli to take you all back to England. Try and get him, preferably alive, but be wary of any more guards or lackeys he might have brought with him. Youâre all dismissed.â
Everyone was armed to their teeth by the time theyâd made it back to English territory, night vision goggles pulled above their head as they had realised the trip took a bit longer than expected due to the cargo they had been asked to bring back to England in the process, the sky darkening even further with every second they spent on the helicopter.Â
âGhost, how copy?â Price shouted over the sound, elbowing Ghost in the side when he didnât seem to hear him.
âWhat?!â Ghost shouted back, forcing out the pressure that clogged up his ears in order to hear properly.Â
âHow are you?! Never seen you this melancholic!âÂ
Ghost huffed out a laugh, tightening the straps of the seatbelts around his chest, as if they were the one putting pressure on his lungs.Â
âFine, captain!â He snapped, turning to look out of the small window row behind them. âJust ready to kill this fucking bugger!â
âCopy that!â Price slammed one of his burly hands onto Ghostâs shoulder, an act of encouragement the captain found himself giving to each of his members every time they went on a mission.Â
After that, the helicopter went quiet, focusing on the mission ahead of them.Â
Which in foresight, was expected to be relatively easy, a copy of many before them where theyâd all come out victorious.Â
But this one differed.Â
The target wasnât even that dangerous in itself, he was just some bloke who had had the brilliant idea to make an organisation that had somehow ended up planting bombs in almost every major city under the government and armyâs radar. It hadnât been up to now where they had finally learned who was behind it and where their next target was, but even then, theyâd failed in protecting the civilians.Â
Something they had spent almost a year investigating, fighting, taking down so many factions across the world to get to the top of the pyramid, the man behind it all.Â
And fuck, if Ghost wasnât going to make all the time heâd spent stressed and infuriated out of his mind on a wild goose chase for this fucking guy worth it. If heâd never fucking existed, the task force wouldnât have gone through all that just to lose him, he wouldnât have ruined the relationship heâd began with you, he wouldâve had a proper go at being Tommyâs dad from the get-go.Â
But a group of people that had afforded to build and plant so many bombs across so many countries, were to have enough money to hire bodyguards en par with the skill the 141 had.Â
And thatâs just what they had.Â
Just like them, they were well-equipped with as many guns and weapons that the groupâs money could buy, and while normally most men like these were just random guys picked off the street who had had guns shoved into their hands, these werenât. They were trained, skilled enough to almost knock Soapâs gun out of his hands, and although that wasnât what had happened, it had given them enough time for one of their bullets to graze his leg, not enough to fully bury itself into the flesh but enough to make him bleed and buckle to the ground.Â
Ghost grabbed Soap by the scruff of his jacket, quickly disposing of the man that had shot him and pulling him up, letting the scot lean on him for balance.Â
âCaptain, Soapâs been hit!â Ghost roared into his radio, letting Soap lean on the wall while he grabbed some bandages they were always advised to bring and helped Soap in stopping the bleeding that the graze had caused. âCan you walk, Johnny?â
âFeckinâ adrenalineâs runninâ through me, LT., could carry a horse if ye told me to.â
âAtta boy.â He handed him his gun so he could defend himself while they got out of the top floor. âSir, the first floorâs clear. Taking the sergeant back to the car.â
âRoger. Be careful, fuckerâs nowhere to be found down h- Fuck, Gaz!â
The sound of a gun going off and the roar from their captain made both men freeze in place, the dying grunts of someone coming through the radio before Gaz finally spoke, voice wheezy and hurt.Â
ââM fine, just- Fuck, that cunt stabbed me!âÂ
They made their way to the bottom of the stairs, where unfortunately, one of the men was waiting for them, stabbing their tactile knife right into Ghostâs shoulder thanks to the fact that heâd switched off his night vision goggles moments before, and wouldn't have seen them in the dark.
âFuck, where do they keep cominâ from!?â
âCaptain!â
âI see ya! Ghost, Soap, meet us outside, thereâs not enough of us to take these fuckers out!â Price commanded, all of them responding with a âRoger!â before barreling their way out of the house, shooting a few more men in the process until they both shoved themselves into the car, Ghost immediately grabbing at the keys and pushing them in, getting everything ready while they waited for the other two, that quickly retreated into the back and slammed the doors shut, the captain slamming his fist into the back of GHostâs seat and ordering him to drive.
âOh for fuckâs sake.â Gaz cried out as he held onto his wound, planting his feet on the floor as he realised who was driving, both him and soap squeezing their eyes shut as the blond slammed onto the accelerator, bringing the car out of the rocky driveway of the house and back out into one of the main roads.Â
As the adrenaline started to fade from all of them, Price lazily raised a hand to grab at Soapâs shoulder, looking down at the bullet wound. âStill in one piece?â
âYeah⌠Donâ think Lt. can say the same.â He pointed over to the stab wound in Ghostâs shoulder, that luckily had been right over his tactical gear, so it hadnât caused as much damage as the perpetrator clearly intended.Â
ââM fine, Johnny. Worry about yourself.â He grunted, trying to ignore the pain that came with taking a turn with the steering wheel, every single time he moved his arm striking pain into the wound, the adrenaline from before having done a good job at keeping him from realising the amount of pain he had been currently in.Â
âWhat about you, Gaz?â Soap called out, turning his head to look at the other as Price got his radio out, planning on informing Laswell on the second failure of the day.Â
âNot dead.â He joked, tightening the bandage around the cut on his arm. âGonna need stitches or something.â
Everyone went silent as Laswelâs voice came through the radio, broken and incomplete, but they could slightly understand what she was saying.Â
Of course, the terrorists had also managed to hack into their servers while the task force was on their way and had made preparations for when they had inevitably barged into their house to arrest the man.Â
The base back in London was almost a four hour drive away, and they doubted that their wounds would be in perfect condition after that long of a time, they needed to be disinfected and treated as soon as possible.Â
âAny safe houses âround here that we might have access to?â Price called out, listening to what he assumed was Laswell looking through files.
âNone that they donât have access to.â
âHospital?â
âToo far.â
All of them collectively sweared, Ghostâs grip tightening around the wheel as he took a right into one of the roads leading towards Manchester, the same road he took every time he came back from base to see you.Â
YouâŚ
âDonât you live in Manchester?â Gaz called out, kicking Ghostâs seat like a kid asking if they were there yet.Â
âNot safe. If they have the locations of our safe houses, they have the locations of our own.â Price called out. âUnless one of you has a secret house off the grid or some James Bond mansion.â
Silence filled the car.Â
Now, it had passed through Ghostâs head when they first started talking about safe houses, but it wasnât really his house, after all. It was yours, Your space, your flat, your building. Not his. He was nothing but some sort of weird tennant.Â
And his flat would have been the first place to take them to if it hadnât been compromised, but now that he knew that that idea was out of the picture, he couldnât help but continue thinking about your flat. With the safety kit heâd given you once after Tommy had gotten a scratch; with the pullout sofa he used every time he was over; with all the warmth and comfort he wished for every time he finished a mission.Â
And he knew it wasnât fair on you, it was extremely late compared to the times he came back in the night, you were probably fast asleep curled in your bed like you always where when he checked up on you; and it wasnât fair to suddenly just shove three more men into your personal space, but as he took another turn and his shoulder throbbed, as he heard Gaz hiss whenever the car bumped a little, as he watched Soap try his best to stop the bleeding occurring from his wound, he knew that the worries Simon had couldnât overcome the panic and danger Ghost was in. This was an emergency.Â
âKnow somewhere, sir.â Ghost spoke out, his voice hoarse, as if heâd been keeping the secret deep inside of him for longer than a minute. âSafe house, I mean.â
âYouâre certain itâs safe?â Price questioned, Laswell going silent on the other side of the radio as well.Â
âPositive.â
Thatâs how he found himself copying the exact route he always took to your place, passing the same pubs, the same shops, the same flats⌠Up until he parked a few blocks away from yours like he always made sure he did.Â
âThis it?â Gaz asked concerned as he gazed upon a closed Greggs, Ghost letting out a huff of amusement.Â
âNo, a bit further up.â
Since Ghost and Price were the only ones who were able to walk without limping, they took it upon themselves to be the ones to help the other two reach the building, Ghostâs hand inexplicably shaky as he stuck the key in like heâd done over a dozen times before, shoving them all into the elevator.Â
âQuiet.â He hissed to them as Gaz let out a small pained cry, not wanting to wake up the ever-so irritable neighbours or cause you any alarm if you were still awake.Â
He felt bad as he slotted the second key into the door, thinking about how scared you could be if you heard him coming, pushing it open with his healthy arm and letting it creek open. âDonât open any doors. Find a place to sit. Donât move, donât make a sound, donât interact with anything.âÂ
The three nodded at his warning, Gaz and Soap slumping onto the sofa as soon as they could and Price taking a seat at the island as Ghost slowly closed the door and turned on the light, dimming it down so it wouldnât alert you nor Tommy.Â
As Gaz and Soap whispered between themselves, wondering how the hell Ghost kept a house in such a tidy and pretty state (âReminds me of my mawâs.â Soap had commented, making Gaz nod and laugh.), Simon pushed open Tommyâs door, listening in to the telltale sound of his sonâs breaths to make sure that he was okay, turning around to find Price looking at a small stuffed animal sitting on the counter along with a dummy, his eyes wide in realisation as he turned to his lieutenant.
âSimon-âÂ
âYeah.â He brushed past, tapping on the back of Soapâs head to catch his attention. âUp, Iâll deal with you first.â
âOh, Iâm honoured!â He said in a faux-british accent, lifting himself off the sofa with his help and leaning against one of the walls Simon had placed him against.Â
âYouâve got a really nice gaf, didnâ expect this from ya.â Gaz commented as Ghost looked through some of the drawers around your flat, trying to remember where the hell heâd seen you put the medkit last.Â
âYeah, you're a classy one arenât ya, Lt.? Placeâs better than mine, I mean, have ya seen your sofa?â He chuckled, signalling towards the plush pillows Gaz was leaning against now, the cute crocheted blanket hanging on the back.Â
Ghost ignored all of their remarks, slamming one of the drawers shut and pulling himself up, nodding towards your bedroom door. âShut up. Iâm going to check the bathroom. Not a word.â
Soap seemingly assumed that the door Ghost had gestured towards was the direct entrance into the bathroom, so in order to help his lieutenant out a bit, his hand moved towards the doorknob while Ghost started pulling off his combat boots, not wanting to make a sound when he went into your room.Â
But, apparently, the small sounds theyâd been making should have been his main priority, by the way you were almost waiting at your bedroom door with a gun raised to Soapâs forehead, ready to shoot just like heâd taught you in a situation like this one.Â
âSteaminâ fuckinâ-â
Ghost couldnât rid himself of his boots fast enough before Soapâs hand was instinctively around your neck, the adrenaline that was rushing through both of your veins making it easier for him to ignore the pain shooting through his leg to defend himself and for yourself to scratch and pull at the hand around your throat.Â
âSoap!â Price shouted as he pushed himself off his seat, noting the panic that had filled Ghostâs normally stoic eyes at the mere sight of you in pain, slowly putting two and two together.Â
âWhat the fuck do you think youâre doing!?â Ghost roared, abandoning his shoes as soon as he saw your eyes roll back into your skull, a telltale sign that you were about to pass out due to the scotâs strong grip on your neck, while normally it wouldâve taken way longer for someone to pass out.Â
The sight of your legs going limp in Soap's grasp was enough for Ghost to see red, moving like he did on the battlefield to reach Soap, grabbing him by the neck and throwing him onto the ground like a ragdoll, secretly hoping the grip heâd grabbed him with was strong enough to cause him the same pain you were undoubtedly in, arms immediately rushing towards your flailing body and pulling you into his chest, one of his gloved hands holding the back of your head as the other pulled your shaking legs up.Â
He didnât really care that he mightâve seriously hurt Soap, gaze and attention fixed on the tears running down your cheeks and the paleness to your normally warm skin, the wheezing breath leaving you as your body tried its best to regain the breath Soap had just stolen from you, your hands clinging to his tact gear instinctively as you coughed with every attempt to breathe.
Once he made sure you were definitely still awake and breathing, he brought you closer to him, the hold on you similar to some desperate attempt at the bridal style, almost like a mutt protecting its territory.
âWhat the fuck, were you thinking, Saergant!?â He shouted, glaring down at the man, who was rubbing at his neck looking up at you both in confusion.Â
âWell, Iâm sorry for protectinâ myself against someone who was armed, Lt.!â He shouted back, being helped back up by his captain, who seemed torn between who was in the right and who was in the wrong.Â
âDid you even stop to think-â
âOh, because you feckinâ warned me about the armed woman whoâd be waitinâ for us!â Soap interrupted, coughing out.
Ghost clenched his jaw, turning to make eye contact with Price, who just shook his head at him, imploring him to just let go.Â
âWeâre all stressed. It slipped Ghostâs mind to tell us about her and you shouldnât've had reacted like that. Youâre both in the wrong.âÂ
Neither of them spoke, knowing that the Captain, as always, was right.Â
âGo take care of her.âÂ
He didnât have to tell Ghost twice. He and Soap shared one final glance, one that only they knew what meant, full of words neither of them would dare to share out loud, but they understood.Â
The gun luckily hadnât gone off during the whole kerfuffle, letting Ghost lean down and pick it up carefully, clicking on the safety before sliding it into one the spare holsters, not trusting himself enough to carry a loaded gun while you were still in his arms.Â
He pushed the door open, your coughs continuing as your eyes started fluttering open, trying to drive away the flurry of tears that were still streaming down your cheeks and wetting your clothes, a broken croak of his name leaving you.Â
âItâs me, donât worry. Just me, love. Just me.â He reassured you the whole way back to the bed, propping you up onto the soft mattress and letting you fall back, kneeling onto the carpeted floor and letting his head rest against the sweet-smelling covers, lifting his head as one of your hands pawed at his mask.Â
He tried ignoring you for a few moments as he took the gun back out and expelled the mag, squeezing his eyes shut as another one of your sobs reached his ears, shoving the gun and mag back into the drawer it had been in before finally turning to look at you properly.
âSimonâŚâ You managed to get out, cringing at the sound of your voice, still slightly delirious from the lack of air in your brain. âWhat⌠It- It hurtsâŚâ
âI know, I know. Iâm sorry.â He whispered, grabbing at your hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. âJust breathe fâme. Itâs okay. No oneâs going to hurt you.â
He didnât even know what he was saying at this point, just reacting to every single thing he usually told himself when he was in the midst of a panic attack ever since he was young.
âWhoâŚâ
Your eyes darted over to the door, where both of you could still hear the other talk, flinching as one of them spoke a bit too loud.Â
âTheyâre with me. Soap, he was the one to⌠Iâm sorry. I shouldâve warned you before coming, we were in the middle of a mission and-â
âOh my god, Simon!â You cried out, startling the both of you. You propped yourself up, shaking a bit due to the dizziness but grabbing onto his non-wounded shoulder all the same. âYouâre bleeding!â
In the midst of everything that had just happened, he seemed to have forgotten the stab wound, his free hand coming up to touch at the now drying blood with a hiss.Â
âItâs fine. Listen, you-â
âNo! Itâs not fine, oh my god!â You felt a bit queasy as you noticed the blood that also stained his hands and tact vest, hoping to god that it was his even though deep down you knew that it wasnât. âWhat- How are you so okay with this!?â
He grabbed both of your hands before they reached to grab at his wounded shoulder, staring deep into your foggy eyes. âDonât worry about me.â
Donât worry about him?Â
He was fucking freebleeding in the middle of your bedroom like it was a goddamn hobby! How could you not worry about him!?
âIâm fine. Howâs your throat?â He let go of one of your hands to bring it up to your neck, fingers softly grazing against a few darkening spots adorning your skin, reminders of what had happened before.Â
âIt⌠It still hurts to speak. Kind of.â You closed your eyes as the tough material of his gloves brushed against you so gently, surprised that such items that had been used to rip countless people apart were capable of a touch so sweet, so soft, so caringâŚ
You swallowed, the movement of your throat beneath his hand quickly alerting himself of what he was currently touching, holding, and making him let go, going back to search for your other abandoned hand, making it easier for him by raising it and meeting his halfway.
âIâm sorry. For not telling you we were coming.â The apology seemed to slip from his lips oh so easily, compared to when youâd first let him in to explain himself, when heâd clearly physically struggled to speak those two damned wordsâŚ
ââWeâ?â You repeated, feeling his hands tighten around yours.Â
âSoapâs not the only one. Price and Gaz are also here.â He explained, his eyes motioning towards the door. âWe were compromised, in a way. Needed somewhere to go, and I justâŚâ
You looked away, already knowing the ending of the short recap of the night, looking down at your linked hands, gaze darting back up to the blood staining his arm.Â
âItâs⌠Fine.â
It really wasn't. You knew you had every right to be angry with him and the three other men heâd brought along, this was your flat! Your home, your building, your living room they had no doubt made their own in the small time youâd been in the bedroom with Simon, and without even thinking about the bruises forming at the base of your neck you already had enough reasons to let your anger boil over.Â
But you stayed silent as he waited for you to snap, to scream at him, to add even more salt in the wound that had formed both mentally and physically tonight; silent as he took your hands and helped you climb out of bed and cling onto him for balance as you regained the feeling in your legs (that were being invaded by the stabbing feeling of pins and needles); silent as he pushed the door open and walked out with you concealed behind him like some tactical weapon.Â
You were pleasantly surprised to see that unlike your fears the men had seemingly not touched a single thing in your living room, standing next to the kitchen island despite one of them clearly having problems with standing.Â
He made eye contact with you, your blood running cold as you realised that he had been the one to cause the soreness that now racked your throat, immediately moving to tear your gaze away from him but stopped as he did it first, looking down at his shoes as if ashamed, and by the way he stayed silent while the other introduced themselves, he was.Â
The captain was nice enough, he clasped your hand in a firm handshake, one that you assumed heâd been practising for longer than you were alive, and he had a very kind face despite the work you knew the four men did, but you couldnât help but feel at ease in his presence, an effect you assumed he had on everyone by the way they seemed so lax instead of freaking out over the wounds littering their bodies like you would.Â
Gaz gave you a smile and a nod, not even attempting to outstretch either of his hands to you due to the tear up his arm and the other hand pressing a bloody piece of cloth to the wound in hopes of keeping himself from losing too much blood.Â
âSoap.â Ghostâs voice came out low and gruff, a tone of voice youâd never heard from him, and you thanked whatever god was up there that youâd never heard it directed to you, because clearly you werenât as strong as the Sergeant in front of you and wouldâve immediately crumbled into fear.
âIâm sorry.â He immediately spoke out, his accent thick around each word as he outstretched his arm, poised out for a handshake. âI hope I didnâ hurt you tâmuch.â
Although the burn from his hand was still there, a constant reminder for the rest of the night of what had happened, and though it would take a bit of while for you to let go of it, you still raised your hand up to his, clasping it in a much weaker handshake than his Captainâs, but it was firm nonetheless, confirming your âacceptanceâ to his apology for now.Â
âI would have done the same if I had your strength, donât worry.â You tried lightening up the mood, despite the anxiety that still tugged at your mind, letting go of his hand and going back to standing next to Simon, your arm pressed right against his, hoping that his massive frame would do something to help hide you.Â
A warm hand came up to your waist, the hairs on your body standing on end as Ghostâs breath hit the shell of your ear. âGo check on Tommy.â
Tommy.
Your stomach dropped at the realisation that you hadnât even thought about your poor son in the whole time you were awake, too focused on yourself to even think about what fear he could be going through after hearing more than the two voices he was used to in the small apartment, your breath hitching as the hand slowly pushed you towards the nursery door, like you were a dog in need of direction.
âTommy?â Gaz breathed out as Ghost led him to the kitchen sink, letting the man run his arm under the stream of cold water, washing away any of the crusty blood that stuck to the skin, while Ghost continued his search for the medkit.
The man stayed quiet, not even bothering to even think of beginning to explain Tommy, and by association you and whatever relationship you had, already having had struggled enough when deciding to open up to Price about it, not needing to do it two more times.Â
âHis son.â Price answered for him when he saw that Ghost was making no move to answer, the skull-faced man turning to send a quick glare in his captainâs direction before being shot down with one of the same calibre. âDonât ask more, though. Bugger still likes keeping his secrets.â
Both Soap and Gaz turned to Ghost with matching expressions, dumbfounded by the information they had just been fed, unbelieving that the man they knew as Ghost, the Ghost that they had watched kill people with a single hand, the Ghost that seemingly felt no emotions towards any of them or anyone, the Ghost theyâd worked so hard to even get a sliver of information out of him was indeed a father. An actual father, with a real son who had a mother who lived in a nice and cute-looking flat taking care of said son.Â
After the confrontation between you and Soap, they had quickly assumed that Ghost harboured some type of feelings towards you, whether they were romantic or platonic was still yet to be known (though by the way he had held you so protectively against his chest, they assumed that they already knew the answer to that small conundrum), but they wouldâve never guessed that you were the fucking mother of his son, a son heâd kept pretty well hidden from everyone, except Price, like many of the details of his oh-so mysterious life.
âThatâs⌠Nice.â Gaz croaked out, throat having gone dry by the absolute shock that had filled the two Sergeants, gulping as Ghost stood back up to his full height, suddenly intimidated by the man more than usual.Â
âYeah. Stay.â Once again, not even bothering to say it in a nicer way, commanding all of them like dogs before entering the room youâd just retreated to and slamming the door closed.Â
He immediately regretted it, though, by the way you snapped your head around like the girl from the ring furiously, clutching a fussing Tommy to your chest, reminiscent of the first night heâd spent in your flat.
âSorry.â He didnât wait for you to respond, taking a few long strides until he was at your side, gazing down at your sweet boy, who was moving around in your arms like he was actively trying to escape you. âHowâs he?â
âFussy. I mean, heâs been sleeping all day, no surprises there. Probably wants to watch some telly.â
âCanât really do that lying down now, can he?â A gloved finger came down to tickle his tummy, causing him to move around more as he burst into a fit of giggles, seemingly not caring about his father's sudden change of appearance, hopefully assimilating in his tiny brain that all skull patterns equaled dad.Â
At his response, you sucked air through your teeth, causing him to snap his head towards you in fear heâd said something wrong, taking a step back as he watched you place your hands underneath Tommyâs armpits and slowly take him to the ground, his little duck printed socks touching the floor and causing Ghostâs eyes to widen, mind racing with thoughts that your son might actually be some type of prodigy if he was standing up at this age, but let out a humoured breath as his little bum hit the floor, and instead of falling back like he always did, he instead stayed there sitting, moving his arms around in order to shake your grip off.Â
âHeâs sitting.â
âYou donât sound very impressed.â You said, looking up at him with a bright smile, not being able to help the immense pride you felt as your son ticked off another milestone off the list, sitting down on the carpet behind him and handing him one of the toys littered on the ground, wanting to enjoy this little moment of peace within the confusing and terrifying night youâd had, trying your best to focus simply on Tommy and not with what would come with having four military trained men in your flat.Â
âNo, itâs⌠Yeah.â You rolled his eyes at the inexpressive tone his voice took, watching him take a seat in front of you and raise his uninjured arm up to click his fingers in front of Tommyâs chubby face, like you normally did when wanting to catch his attention. âGood job, duck.â
You couldnât help the way your smile widened as you heard him use the little nickname youâd given him, placing your hands on his chubby tummy and tickling his sides, enticing another few happy giggles.Â
But through them, you heard the sharp hiss that came from Simon as he moved to put his weight onto the other arm, eyes going wide as you realised youâd completely neglected the wound youâd fussed about so much earlier, one of your hands moving to grasp his hands.Â
âWhy havenât you treated it yet?â You whispered, keeping your distress to a minimum in front of Tommy, but Ghost could still feel the worry that emanated from you, shrugging (as best he could) and looking away.Â
âI couldnât find the medkit.â You raised a brow at his apprehensive words, lifting yourself off the floor along with Tommy and adjusting your hold on him.Â
âItâs where it always is.â You started moving, giving him little to no time to react before he had jolted up and started following, almost crashing into you as you stopped in your tracks once youâd opened the door, seemingly forgetting about the company youâd been thinking about mere moments before. âOh.â
âIs that him?â Soap said with a smile before anyone spoke, gesturing towards the small boy fidgeting in your arms.Â
âNo. Just some other random kid, Johnny.â Ghostâs hands once again found their rightful place on your hips and pushed you slightly to urge you to continue your walk, a huff leaving your lips at his impatience (although you couldnât really blame him, you too would be impatient if there were a literal hole in your shoulder), as you made your way back in to the bedroom, feeling Ghost move around behind you as if he were shielding you from the prying eyes of his Sergeants and Captain, who simply wanted to catch a glimpse of the small boy.Â
âHere.â You called out as you handed Tommy over to his father, opening up the mirror in the bathroom and pulling out the small yet quite big medkit heâd gifted you.Â
Ghost tried his best to ignore the small bottles of pills he spied along the shelves of the little cupboard as you opened up the medkit, looking through all the items.Â
âI⌠I donât know how to use most of these.â You mumbled, taking it over to him so he could look through it.Â
âDonât worry, we do.â Tommy was handed back off to you, no doubt giving the small boy whiplash from how fast he was being moved from one parent to another like a hot potato. âMight need some help with the stitches.â
Stitches.Â
You willed away the look of discomfort that would no doubt try to show on your face at the mere thought of it.Â
Now, you werenât the most horrible person at stitching clothes, youâd fixed a few items for both Tommy and you, and maybe the odd time youâd found a hole in Simonâs hoodie and couldnât just leave it like that, but the thought of using a needle and string to stitch up a wound instead of the normal cloth made shivers rack your body.Â
âIs that okay?â
âYeah.â You breathed out, instead of letting out the worries that swirled about your brain. I mean, these men were dealing with blood and gore almost daily, surely you could manage to deal with a little wound, right?
âHey. Weâve been treated by worse. Wonât be any worse than doinâ it ourselves.â He murmured, opening the door for you.Â
And that filled you with some reassurance at first, but as you disinfected your hands and were given the needle and string, you couldnât help but feel sick, turning your head over to the little playpen youâd purchased a few days ago where Soap was sitting next to looking down at Tommy play. Ghost right at his side glaring down at them, as if Tommyâs personal bodyguard.Â
âYou donât have to, really. I can try and do it myself.â Gaz assured you with a smile, starting to move his arm away from you.Â
âWith one hand?â
âYouâd be surprised what I can do with one hand, maâam.â He grinned, getting a furious look from Ghost.Â
You breathed out a laugh, shakily taking his arm into yours and bringing it back to where he had it before, angling the needle to his wound before taking one last look of reassurance up at the man, who only nodded in response.Â
It wasnât as disgusting as you had expected, but the sounds and feelings were still uncomfortable.
You finally finished the final stitch, shakily tying the knot before cutting the thread, disposing yourself of the latex gloves youâd put on.Â
âIs- Is that okay?âÂ
âItâs perfect, love, donât you worry. Did it better than I ever could.â Gaz encouraged, getting some bandages and helping you to wrap it around his now sanitised wound. âCould easily get a job as a nurse if you ever wanted to, eh? Think Ghost would love to have you on base.â
âThatâs enough, Sergeant.â Ghost snapped, pushing himself off the wall and nodding down at Johnny. âGet a move on.â
You shared a smile with Gaz before Soap took his spot, albeit a bit more awkward, and raised his leg up to the sofa (you almost had a heart attack before you realised heâd kindly discarded his shoes before doing so).Â
âOh, do I-.âÂ
âNo need fâstitches. I just need a bit oâhelp disinfecting it.â He mumbled, always the careful one when it came to cleaning.Â
âYeah, okay.â You did just as he had told you to, carefully pouring the alcohol onto the gauze before wiping away any dirt and dry blood from the graze before sticking a clean one over the wound with the help of a few bandages.Â
You couldnât help but feel a bit proud of your handiwork as you watched him get up, his limp a bit better now that he definitely knew that he hadnât contracted any types of diseases thanks to the wound, taking back his spot back next to Gaz and Tommy, the other sergeant moving a little toy around in hopes of attracting Tommyâs attention.Â
âIâll help with this one, Lieu-âÂ
âNo need.â Ghost interrupted the captain, sitting down on the sofa and immediately sinking it, the piece of furniture still not used to his weight even after all the time heâd been using it. âIâll help her.â
You nodded with a smile, although it quickly flipped upside down as you realised what dealing with Ghostâs wound entailed, watching him slowly take off most of his tactical gear before leaving him in one of those damn tight shirts, moving the sleeve off the wounded shoulder and letting you see what you were dealing with in full detail.Â
âClean and stitch it up. Not that hard, lovie.â He mumbled, his words just for your ears, one warm hand landing on one of the thighs you had curled beneath you on the sofa you were kneeling on. âJust going to be a bit more difficult to heal.âÂ
âOkay.â You swallowed, tugging on another pair of gloves before balancing yourself with one hand on the part of his uninjured shoulder, somehow still feeling the body warmth through the latex.Â
This was different from Gazâs wound. While the other man had been looking away the whole time, you could feel Ghostâs sharp gaze on you even as you thread the needle, your body squirming beneath the uncomfortable stare.Â
âCâmon.â He urged, settling himself further into the sofa to make the next part easier for you, letting yourself take a deep breath before starting without a second though, pleasantly surprised as he didnât even move an inch with every stitch you made, although you could feel his thumb rubbing over the warm skin of your thigh with every second, your hand giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze every time you tightened a stitch, despite knowing he probably didnât need the same reassurance you did. âItâs okay.â
It almost felt like you were the one getting stitched up, not him.Â
You finished with shaky hands, dropping the gloves and needles and patching it up, jolting away when his hand grabbed at the bandages, finishing the job himself.Â
âThank you.â He mumbled, the hairs on your body standing up as you realised finally how close youâd been to him the whole time, slowly letting go of his arm and letting them fall back onto your lap.Â
âItâs fine.â You watched him get up, once again not showing a single ounce of pain or discomfort despite the pain you knew a person who wasnât desensitised to this type of wounds would be in, your eyes following him across the room until he reached the two Sergeants, who were still trying to gain Tommyâs affection.
When you saw them like that, they hardly looked like the type of men whose job consisted on fighting and killing for a living, they just looked like two blokes youâd find at the pub on a random sunday night, despite the tactical gear they still wore, having fun with watching a kid roll around with his toys.Â
âThank you.â Price rumbled from behind you, a hand landing on the headrest of the sofa. âFor letting us stay. Feels like no oneâs said that yet.â
You shrugged, running your hands up and down your thighs in order to cure the chill that had just run through your body. âItâs okay. I mean⌠Simonâs done a lot for us, guess I could just repay the favour one way or another.â
Although maybe you wouldâve thought of a more traditional way of doing that, one that wasnât stitching up his men and him in the middle of the night.Â
âHmph. Well, considering what good a job youâve done, Iâd say youâve paid it back pretty well.â
You smiled up at him, not catching the look Ghost sent to you from the other side of the room, looking down at the small boy he was cradling and then up at the time, not having missed the eyebags that adorned your normally bright eyes.Â
He called your name as he came near, his heart missing a beat as you instantly outstretched your arms out at him, stomach sinking as he quickly realised you were gesturing towards Tommy and not him, carefully bringing him down to latch onto your chest.Â
âThink weâll be leavinâ now.â He said, catching both your and Priceâs attention.Â
âLeaving?â
âWhere else are you going to stay?â You prodded for an answer, pressing Tommy further into the jumper youâd pulled on.Â
âWeâll find somewhere.â He looked up at Price for reassurance, but got a not so on board look back.Â
You looked between the two, who stayed silent enough for you to make a quick inventory check in your head, looking down at the pull out sofa you were currently sitting on and thinking back to the possible inflatable mattress you had stored in your room.Â
âSimon.â You said, almost like a child tugging on their parentâs sleeve to ask for something. âYou can just stay for the night. Iâve got a few blankets and a small mattress along with the sofa. I donât mind.â
You always felt like you could drown in his eyes when he looked at you like that, glassy eyes filled with concern and apprehensiveness at your words, as if he was assessing the true nature behind them only to find that you were only speaking the truth.
âYou donât have to.â
âI want to.â
And maybe, in the heat of the moment, youâd under planned a bit, since you realised mid unfolding some blankets that both the sofa and the small mattress would not fit four people, even if one decided to sleep on the floor, theyâd be far from comfortable curling into some random nook or cranny of the flat.Â
You fluffed up some of the pillows, listening to some parts of the conversation Gaz and Soap were having from inside the bathroom, jumping out of your skin as one of Ghostâs hands appeared on your back.Â
âI'm going to let Soap and Gaz take the sofa. Priceâs alright with taking the mattress.â He explained, hand continuing to rest on the small of your back even as you leaned back up, working on shoving a cushion into its cover.Â
âAnd you?â You asked, almost dreading the answer.Â
He looked away, a faraway gaze on the visible part of his face as if he wasnât really there with you, as if you were just talking to a shell of a man who someone else was controlling.Â
âI donât need to sleep. Iâm fine with staying in Tomâs room.â He responded, taking the pillow from your hands and placing it down on the inflatable mattress that lay next to the sofa.Â
âWhat? Youâre hurt, Simon, you should be resting!â
Silence.Â
âYouâre not fucking superhuman, you know that, right?!â You snapped, grabbing at his sleeve and forcing him to look your way. âYou need rest like anyone else. Just because you cover your face and act like you donât care about anything does not mean youâre special.â
God, shut up! Your brain was shouting at you, unbelieving that you were getting so worked up over a man youâd convinced yourself that you wouldnât let in no matter what, but there you were, horrified that he had such little care for his well-being that he would rather stay awake all night than find somewhere else to sleep.Â
âJust take my bed!â
The words were out of your mouth before you even realised it.Â
And clearly, you werenât the only one who was surprised by them.Â
Simon was staring down at you with what you could only assume was a dumbfounded look, his eyes swirling with confusion.Â
âYour bed?â
âMy bed.â You breathed out, horrified with yourself. âIt's queen sized, you know that. Youâll fit.â
Silence engulfed the room, a pattern that seemed to follow every single one of your conversations you had in this exact spot of the living room, gazes interlocked together.Â
âNo-â
âYes. Get into your pyjamas and come to bed.â You said almost robotically, finishing the final cushion before pushing yourself off, quickly walking back into your room before the man could protest. You placed a hand against the wall in order to balance yourself as soon as you were out of his line of view, a shaky hand coming up to cover your mouth in shock of what youâd just asked, no, insisted him to do.
Soap and Gaz apologised for taking so long in the bathroom, letting you take their place so you could calm down a bit alone and in silence, sitting on the closed toilet with a shaking leg, biting your nails as you stared down at the white tiles.Â
You were so fucking stupid.Â
What was wrong with you!?
Why couldnât you just stick to your initial feelings for him!?
Why couldnât you just have let him do what he wanted!?
Why did you care so much about someone youâd insisted was nothing to you!?
You rested your face against the open palms of your hands, running them up and down until you rid yourself of the urge to want to cry, the opening of your bedroom door immediately catching your attention.Â
Ghost knocked at the door, making you jump for what seemed like the nth time tonight, calling out your name.Â
âI need to get changed.â
Your heart soared at the implication behind his hushed words.Â
Now, you donât really know what you were expecting for his pyjamas to be, but the black shirt and cargo sweatpants he sported were definitely on brand for a man like Simon.
Itâd been a really long time since youâd caught a peak at his arms, since even in the warmest weather possible, Simon always insisted on wearing at least a long sleeved shirt, leaving the rest of his body up to the imagination (which, thanks to that night, you didnât really need), but thanks to the shirt he was currently wearing, it allowed you to gaze upon his muscular arms and the tattoo that ran the whole way up one of them, remembering faintly the moment heâd let you look at them for a moment before tugging you closer into his chest.Â
It also didnât surprise you that he was still wearing the balaclava, although this one was different to the skulled one he normally wore, silver lines running over his chin, like the bottom set of teeth of the plastic skull heâd now discarded, leaving him almost naked in a way, after having gotten so used to him all covered up.Â
âAre you sure?â He asked one final time, standing at the edge of the bed.Â
âYes, Simon.â
His gaze darted away from you as you called out his name, something youâd noticed heâd done the whole night every time you spoke his real name out, despite him never reacting this way when you were both alone.Â
âLie down.â He did as you said, getting into the bed and pulling some of the covers up to cover his lap, turning to watch you as you leaned over to turn off the small lamp on your nightstand, the room instantly being filled with darkness after the click.Â
âYou knowâŚâ Your voice came out hushed, further down than before, letting him assume that youâd just rested your face against your pillow. âYour skull mask looks silly.â
âSilly?â He whispered back, mock offended, like youâd just killed his entire family in front of him (which would be largely upsetting considering you were his familyâŚ).
âSilly.â You parroted, thinking back to the hard plastic skull. âYou look like a little kid on halloween.âÂ
âThat was the goal.â He lazily joked, moving down so he too was lying on his own pillow, staring up at the darkness that used to be the ceiling, his hair scratchy against his nape and skull due to it being pressed against the material of his balaclava. â...my brother wore a mask like that. Used to scare the shit out of me.â
You let out a huff, impossible of even imagining a little version of your Simon being scared by his brother. âIsnât he younger than you?â
â...â
âOh my god, Simon.â
âI was easily frightened.â He said, knowing that if there were any source of light near you, youâd instantly be able to see the blush that no doubt was dusting his pale cheeks. âI was frail as a kid.â
Why was he telling you this?
âFrail?â You mumbled, moving yourself closer to him in order to hear him clearer.Â
âMy dad wasnât the nicest person.âÂ
He should stop.Â
âYou mean⌠He hurt you?â
âIn more ways than one.â
You shouldnât know this about him.Â
âThatâs⌠Horrible. Iâm sorry, SimonâŚâ
âItâs fine.â
It wasnât.Â
âItâs not⌠You donât have to act like it is.â
â...â
âSimon.â
Your sweet voice called out to him, your hand brushing against his arm and causing a ripple effect on it, all of his hairs standing on edge at the soft touch.Â
âSimonâŚâ
âIâm sorry.â He breathed out, turning around, forcing your hand away from him in doing so, leaving you staring at his back in the dark.Â
Silence engulfed the room once again, your hand frozen in place from where it had been pressed against before, clenching it closed and bringing it back, turning around yourself and snuggling into the nice-smelling covers.
You didnât even bother trying to continue the conversation or bid him a goodnight like you wish you could, instead keeping the silence going until the inevitable grasp of Hypnos would pull you under.Â
But you couldnât seem to fall asleep, even after only having slept two hours that day, even as no sound came through the baby monitor on your bedside table, even if everything was perfectly scripted for you to close your eyes and finally get some restâŚ
You turned around, feeling around the cold space of the bed that laid between Simon and your sleeping bodies, squeezing your eyes closed before taking a shaking breath.Â
It was cold. That was it. It was cold, and you felt bad for him.
There was no other reason for why you wrapped your arms around his chest from behind, curling into the shape of his body and pressing your face right against his warm back, feeling him tense beneath your hands.Â
You stayed there, waiting for the unavoidable moment where heâd try and shake you off like you were some kind of leech, but he didnât.Â
Instead, one of his hands came up to rest over the one you had above his heart, squeezing it slightly, his way of telling you that this was okay without openly speaking out.Â
You took a deep breath, closing your eyes and pulling yourself closer into his warmth, feeling his heart beat slowly grow steady beneath your palm as time went past.Â
Simon hoped that the tear streaks down his balaclava wouldnât be noticeable in the morning.Â
This time, when you woke up, he wasnât gone.Â
Although a bit dishevelled compared to the normal composure he kept, he was there.Â
The mask had ridden up to his cupidâs bow in the middle of the night, exposing the not very well-kept beard heâd started growing under there, along with tufts of blond hair that peaked out from around his nape. Â
It was clear youâd both moved a lot across the course of the night, by the way youâd both ended in a completely different position than the one you'd started in, with you on the other side of the bed wrapped up in his arms, your face pressed into his chest instead of his back.
His warm hands were covering your lower back, brushing lightly against the elastic band of your pyjama bottoms, one leg draped over his waist while the other was between his.
You tentatively raised your hand to run your fingers against the hair at the base of his head, curling a slightly long strand around one of your fingers and letting out an amused huff at the curl that formed there.Â
âOw.â Simon rasped, although his voice was as monotonous as could be, pulling his head away from your hand. âTicklish.â
âYouâre ticklish?â You mumbled, watching him open his eyes before craning his head away from you, a pop coming from the bone as he stretched, moving onto his back and pulling you with him, letting you curl into his side.Â
Not one word was spoken during the entire morning about what was going on, about your sudden change of heart (although you knew it wasnât sudden), about what this night would mean for the two of you moving forward.Â
Neither of you said a word, afraid that the conversation that would follow would be the one to ruin whatever had happened,Â
You wandered out of your bedroom an hour after youâd officially woken up, wanting to indulge in the warmth Simon had provided all throughout the night, surprised and a bit shocked (youâd honestly forgotten what was waiting for you outside), Tommy fidgeting around in Soapâs arms as he held him with surprising care and ability.Â
âAre you some type of expert?â You said with a careful smile, not missing the way his eyes darted down to the bruises around your neck, still feeling bad for what he had done.Â
âUh, kindaâ? Got four sisters, each of âem with their own set of bairns.â He shrugged, the movement making Tommy let out a giggle through his dummy. âLad was cryinâ, couldnât just leave him there.â
âItâs okay. Thank you.â You felt a bit embarrassed for not having woken up at your babyâs crying, but you were glad that he seemed perfectly happy, clearly enjoying the attention heâd been receiving the past hours. âHeâs starting to teeth, thatâs probably why he was crying, my poor-â
The slamming down of a mug interrupted you, staring dumbfounded at Gaz, whoâd been the one to cause the noise.Â
âFuck! Sorry, sorry, maâam, just-â He wiped away some of the spilt tea (you were even more confused as to where heâd gotten the cuppa until you noticed the captain standing next to the stove with your kettle), looking up at you with darkening cheeks. âSorry, my armâs still a bit fucked-â
âClean it up.â Ghost ordered gruffly as he walked out of the bedroom, clad in most of the clothing heâd worn yesterday, hiding once again all the skin and muscles youâd ran your hands over that morning.Â
âYeah, yeah, Iâm not a prick, man.â Gaz grumbled.Â
Ghost leaned down to you, your heart skipping a beat at the sudden closeness, in front of his teammates no less, but ended up pressing a finger to Tommy's nose, your cheeks going warm out of embarrassment.Â
âYou made tea?â He grunted at his Captain, who shrugged, taking a sip of the warm brew.Â
âIâll pay it back.â
âY-â
âItâs not necessary, itâs just tea.â You elbowed Ghost before he could say anything rude, placing Tommy down onto his highchair before moving to get some of his food and get yourself a cup in the meantime.Â
âCanât thank her enough.â Price grumbled to Ghost as you and the other two started a conversation, watching the masked man pour himself a cup before swigging it all down quickly like it was some type of liquor. âFor letting us stay.â
âYeah. Iâm going to have to make it up for her.â Ghost answered, watching you try to coerce Tommy to open his mouth for a spoonful of baby food with Soapâs help.Â
âSeems like you already did, she looks real happy.â Price nudged Ghost, like a father teasing his son for getting his first girlfriend, his moustache twitching as Ghost turned away from him, further pushing the thought that it was just like that type of scenario.Â
âWe should get going. I canât risk it further.â Ghost responded instead of continuing the banter, pushing himself off the counter and turning to you, Price immediately dropping the funny act and nodding, moving to get some of their things theyâd tried to place neatly in one of the corners.Â
âWeâre going.â He announced, heart sinking into his stomach at the disappointment that washed over your face, placing down the baby food on the table and leaning back up to your full height.Â
âNow?â
âYes. Soap, go start the car.â Ghost ordered, the scot doing just as his captain had and dropping the smile that had been previously adorning his face, getting up and taking his jacket from Price, not forgetting to say a proper goodbye to you and give you a firm handshake that he hoped transmitted the apology for everything he did, and as you received it with a small smile, he hoped it meant that you forgave him.Â
âWhere are you going?â You asked, watching Gaz and Price reload some of the guns from the other side of the flat.Â
âBase. Hopefully, Laswell will have backup and weâll be able to finish what we started.â He said, gloved fingers running over Tommy's soft head, messing up some of the curls that had started to form. âIâll call you once weâve finished.â
The look you gave him spoke a million words.Â
âI promise. Iâll be back, you know that.â
You felt embarrassed at how quickly heâd managed to discern what your look had meant, but nodded nonetheless, saying goodbye to the other two (Gaz giving you a bright smile and Price clasping your hand in his once again, his presence washing away any worry you might have just like last time), leaving the three of you alone in your apartment.Â
âDuck, daddyâs going now.â You whispered to your son, the small boy clearly having no idea of what you were saying, but giggling up at you as you pressed a kiss to his chubby cheek. âSay bye-bye, now.â
You moved his little hand in a goodbye motion, Ghostâs mask moving over his lips as he smiled, raising one of his hands to wave goodbye back.Â
Despite having done this same song and dance for almost four months now, it still didnât get rid of the bittersweet feeling that bloomed in Simonâs chest, already knowing the drill as you led him to the front door with a solemn look tugging at your pretty features.Â
âWeâll talk once I get back, okay? I promise.â He spoke softly as he stood by the opened door, a gloved hand coming up to cup at your face and tilt you upwards so you were both making eye contact. ââBout everything.â
âOkay.â You whispered, fighting the urge to lean further into his touch. âIâll be here.â
He nodded, but his hand still didnât move.Â
You waited, for what, you didnât know. You were slowly getting lost in his eyes when his other hand came up to pull his mask up over his lips, leaning down and softly tugging you upwards until they met your forehead, the kiss short and sweet despite all the pain and darkness that you knew followed him, always a surprise when it came to how quickly he could change from the personality he showed to you and Tommy to the personality youâd witnessed him show to his teammates not long ago.Â
You blinked up at him owlishly, watching him pull the mask back down and let go of your face (though his touch still lingered) before taking a step back.Â
âStay safe.â You repeated like all the other times.Â
âI always do.â He replied, and like always, he disappeared down the hall.Â
âNo.â
âOh, come on. Heâll like it!âÂ
âHe wonât.â Ghost snapped, taking one last look at the small toy Gaz was waving around, like Ghost was a child to be entertained and he was just being fussy, which really wasnât that off track.Â
âHowâd you know?â
ââCause Iâm his dad!â He looked away, already regretting having brought his teammates back to your place and therefore letting them meet Tommy. Maybe he shouldâve just let them bleed out back then.Â
âAnd youâre honestly telling me that a child will not like this?â Gaz moved it around a bit more, almost tantalising his lieutenant.Â
Ghost peaked back at the small teddy bear, its fur fluffy and inviting and its black button eyes adorning its little face.Â
âJust take it, mate. Itâll make me really happy!â
âI donât care about your happiness, Sergeant.â Ghost snapped, snatching the toy from his grasp and shoving it into one of his pockets, ignoring the bright smile Gaz sent him and the punch to his shoulder.Â
âGod, youâre the best, Ghost. Text me if he likes it, eh?â
He never did text Gaz back, but Gaz had apparently ran his mouth to Soap about Ghostâs reluctant acceptance of the gift, since the next time he saw Soap, the scot had kindly brought a little teddy bear with a tiny Scottish flag in its paw.Â
And although Ghost wanted nothing more than to rip it up in front of him, he found himself passing them on to Tommy the day he came back to you, âreluctantlyâ sending each of the Sergeants a picture of the small boy curled up to the two bears.

Yes, Lieutenant: I

Violence, suggestive themes.
Yes, Lieutenant Masterlist
Under the scorching sun, the team gathered in a huddle as Price provided the final briefing for the mission in Al Mazrah. Intelligence had pinpointed the location of IvĂĄn Espiga, Valeria's new right-hand man.
The stakes were high â capturing him was crucial for extracting any information about Valeria's potential hideout following her escape from Alejandro's prison.
As you move swiftly through the labyrinthine streets of Al Mazrah, your eyes flicker over to Alejandro, engaged in small talk with a local vendor.
Vigilant, you keep a watchful eye on his back, prepared for any indication of trouble. The urgency to find Ivan before he slips away from the city fuels every step.
Navigating through the bustling market, you seamlessly blend in with the local populace, your senses attuned to the surroundings. The air is thick with the scents of spices and the murmur of haggling voices.
Alejandro and you find a momentary refuge under an overpass, your eyes scanning the crowd for any signs of Ivan's presence. Amid the ambient sounds, your radio crackles to life, interrupting the tension.
"Bravo 1-1, this is Echo 3-1, how copy?" Alex's voice crackles over the comms, and you glance at Alejandro, your silent communication understanding the urgency in the situation.
"Alex, talk to me. You pick anything up?" Alejandro queries.
"Affirmative. You see that big tower with the bell. It's south, about half a click away from our entry point." you and Alejandro began to move.
"I see it. We are down the street from it. Two minutes. How far are you and Farah?"
"About five minutes. Do not engage, wait for Ghost and Soap to rendezvous."
"Copy, out."
As you approached Ivan's supposed safe house, the atmosphere grew tense. Guards were everywhere, and infiltrating without being seen would be a challenge. Taking cover behind crumbling walls and rusty vehicles on the side of the safe house, you instinctively took the safety off your weapon, ready for any unexpected confrontation.Â
In the distance, a faint whistle caught your attention, and you saw Soap with Ghost following closely behind, both crouched behind some barrels. Glancing around the perimeter, you signaled to them that it was safe to cross over and join you.
Soap approached your side, speaking softly. "Aye there, lass. Are Alex and Farah here yet?"Â
You turned to Soap and nodded your head. "They mentioned they were slightly behind the rest of us. They're probably still making their way over," you replied, noticing Ghost crouched behind you, his gaze fixed upon you.Â
Despite his hunched position, his dominating presence was evident, his towering figure, broad shoulders, and muscular frame drawing your attention. As you held Ghost's gaze, his brown eyes burned a hole through you. Even in the midst of tension, he exuded a calm demeanor that caught you off guard.
A deafening explosion rocked the air, ripping you from your thoughts. Peering over the wall, you witnessed the front gate of the safehouse blown up, and men in civilian clothing rushing through the debris. The chaotic scene sparked questions â was the safe house under attack by a rival gang?
Gunfire erupted from every direction as bullets whizzed past, kicking up dust and debris. The team ran for better cover behind the safe house, adrenaline surging through your veins. Ghost turned around, and all attention focused on him.
"This is our only chance to infiltrate while we still can before Ivan catches wind and leaves. Soap, I want you to breach the back door so we have a way in. Alejandro and I will clear the first floor, Y/N and Soap will find the stairs and clear the second."
Soap quickly planted and detonated the door, the team moving in unison. Bullets found their marks, dropping cartel members one by one. With the path clear, you and Soap advanced towards the stairs, leaving Ghost and Alejandro to handle their assignments.
Slowly ascending the stairs, you and Soap took out a few enemies, clearing each room systematically. As you opened another door, a man lunged from behind, slicing your arm. Reacting quickly, you slammed the door against him, sending him sprawling back into the room. Soap entered from the room across, pointing his gun at Ivan.
"It's over, Ivan, we have you like a cornered rat," Soap's Scottish accent cut through the tense atmosphere.
While Soap remained oblivious, you noticed Ivan's hand slowly reaching for something next to him. Your eyes zeroed in on a small pocket knife, just inches from his grasp.
Acting swiftly, you grabbed a throwing knife and aimed for his hand. The knife went through his hand and embedded itself in the floorboard below, incapacitating him from reaching the weapon. Ivan screamed in pain, unleashing a string of curses.
"Ahora sabes cĂłmo se siente, perra. Mira lo que le hiciste a mi brazo" (Now you know how it feels, bitch. Look at what you did to my arm). You turned your arm to show him the small cut he had inflicted, and he sneered through the pain.
"Eso no es nada comparado con mi maldita mano. Te voy a matar, perra" (That's nothing compared to my fucking hand. I'll fucking kill you, bitch). You laughed as you retrieved handcuffs from your vest and secured them on his wrists. Rendezvousing with Ghost and Alejandro downstairs, Ghost noticed your arm.
"You alright sergeant?" you look at him a bit confused before you realize he's talking about your arm.
"Oh yeah, it's just a graze L.t I'm good" You hold eye contact for a couple of seconds before breaking away to walk outside through the back door you breached. You all made it back safely to the exfil where Price was waiting.
The mission in Las Almas spanned three days, and you are eagerly anticipating a much-needed shower. After checking your weapons back in, you make your way to your room to get a change of clothes and your shower bag. You head towards your personal shower, turning the knob you wait for it to warm up. However, after running cold water for about five minutes, you curse to yourself.
"The hot water probably isn't working on this side of the base"
For fucks sake. With a sigh, you collect your belongings and navigate your way toward the communal showers. It's 3 am, so fortunately, the area is pretty empty with everyone else heading to bed or watching the interrogation with Ivan. As you turn on the water, you shed your clothes, allowing the warm cascade to envelop your body. The sensation of scrubbing and lathering your hair fills your senses, the fragrance of your shampoo adding a refreshing touch.
Lost in your own thoughts, your peace is abruptly interrupted by the sound of someone entering the shower area. The walls dividing each shower stall aren't particularly tall, granting you a clear view over the top. Curiosity piques, and you cautiously peek your head over the wall, spotting the familiar sight of a Ghost mask.
"Im guessing your shower was cold too huh?" you remark, turning back around to rinse the shampoo from your head.
"Shit was colder than the motherland" he states in his brooding voice, eliciting a laugh from you. Ghost's rare sense of humor always brought a welcome respite from his typically solemn demeanor.
"How's the arm?"
"It was nothing, won't even leave a scar" he hums in response. Both of you shower in silence, and as you turn off the water, Ghost does the same. Reaching out to grab your towel, you realize with a mental curse that you left it behind in your bathroom.
Frustrated, you turn to Ghost, "Hey, Ghost, could you do me a favor? I left my towel in my bathroom. Would you mind getting one for me from the cabinet?"
He steps out of his shower stall, only in a towel that dangerously hangs low around his waist. The alluring sight of water droplets cascading down his chiseled chest captures the soft glow of ambient light. Each droplet follows its own path, delicately tracing the contours of his well-defined muscles, only to vanish upon reaching the edge of the towel.
You watch the subtle movement of his muscles beneath his skin as he reaches into the cabinet to grab a towel. Before you can register the intensity of your gaze fixed on his exposed torso, he stands in front of your shower stall, towel in hand.
"And here I thought I was the one with a staring problem," he teases, a blush heating your face as you hastily take the towel without uttering a word.
Oh god, what the fuck is wrong with you. Ghost just caught you staring at him like some hungry ass dog. You mentally let out a string of curses as you begin to dry yourself off. Quickly changing into the fresh clothes you brought; a pair of black sweatpants and a short-sleeved black shirt.
Slipping on your slippers, you step out from the shower stall. You make your way towards the counter adorned with a small mirror. Ghost emerges from his own shower stall, now dressed in a combination of sweatpants and a form-fitting short-sleeved t-shirt.
"I'm sorry for staring earlier, it was rude and I shouldn't have done it" He halts his approach towards the door, diverting his path to stand directly in front of you, his imposing figure towering over your smaller frame. A sense of vulnerability washes over you as you instinctively try to retreat, only to find yourself trapped by the counter.
"Why were you staring?" he asks, taking another step towards you, his hands firmly planted on either side of the counter, effectively caging you. Caught off guard by his question, you struggle to find the right words.
"I, um, I-I don't..." you stumble over your words, flustered by how close he is and the intensity in his gaze as his head tilts slightly to the side, his eyes land on your lips.
"Come on, Sergeant, use your words," he urges, his tone laced with a hint of teasing, igniting a rush of heat to your face. You find yourself at a loss for words, paralyzed by the way Ghost is addressing you.
"I don't know what to say, Lieutenant," you finally exhale, almost in a whisper, lifting your gaze to meet his eyes that meet yours with unwavering intensity.
In a daring move, he raises his hand, his fingertips brushing against your jawline, trailing down to your chin. With gentle yet deliberate force, he cups your chin, his thumb grazing over your bottom lip.
"Should I help you then sergeant?" he mutters, causing your heart to race within your chest, and your knees threaten to buckle beneath you.Â
"Yes," you breathe out, releasing a shaky breath you hadn't realized you were holding.
"Yes, what, Sergeant?" Ghost's grip on your chin tightens slightly, not enough to cause pain, but enough to assert his dominance in the moment.
"Yes, Lieutenant," you mutter, your cheeks growing warmer at the closeness between the two of you, acutely aware that anyone could enter the showers and catch you in this compromising position.
"Good girl," he utters, his free hand lifting his baklava to rest atop his nose. Before you can fully absorb his features, his lips press against yours. On instinct, your hands rise, one resting on his shoulder and the other on the back of his neck to let you deepen the kiss. Bodies entwined in a heated exchange, you both press closer, driven by a ravenous desire for one another.
His hand trails down from your jaw to your throat, giving a gentle pressure that elicits a breathy moan of pleasure. With a sense of urgency, he hoists you up and settles you on the edge of the counter, stepping into the space between your legs, you felt him press against you.Â
Whose horse is that?
The friction between you causes a low moan to escape your lips as desire courses through your veins. You've never had sex with anyone before but you know if this is where it's heading, you would let ghost be your first. Your tongues melt together in a frenzied embrace, exchanging kisses that leave you both breathless, gasping for air.
As you part, gazing up at Ghost through hazy eyes, he looks down at you, his gaze shifting from your eyes to your lips, down to your body, and back up again.
Something changes in his expression, his lustful look morphing into the cold, distant gaze he always carries. He releases his hold on you and abruptly pushes himself away from you, turning and leaving the showers without explanation, disappearing into the unknown, and leaving you alone.

Hello!! I saw your requests are open! So can I ask shy! civilian! reader x Soap (my fav), Ghost, Gaz and Price that reader is gun! nerd? Like reader knows weapons, very well since they play shooting games (only in single player), do research (especially in her novel because she wants to write gun fights.)
Tactical Observer
The rest of dear nonny's request was a separate ask so I'll add it below:
"Oh! I forgot to say by shy! civilian! gun nerd reader that they like to analyse and touch weapons, even if it's fake. But they prefer not shoot, they prefer to watch it."
Oh nonny, you are fueling my lifeblood. Wrote this shit in a coffee and frybread daze over the span of an hour.
Summary: Y/n, a quiet and reclusive civilian with an uncanny knowledge of firearms, is brought on as a consultant for Task Force 141. Her expertise, gained through research for her novel and a deep obsession with the mechanics of weapons, quickly captivates the team. Though she prefers to study and observe rather than engage in combat, her presence draws the attention of Soap, Ghost, Gaz, and Price. Beneath the surface of their professional interactions, a deeper, more complex connection begins to formâone that transcends the battlefield. Unbeknownst to Y/n, the team isn't just fascinated by her skillsâtheyâre enthralled by her. As the tension grows between them, Y/n finds herself pulled into an intricate, mysterious bond that leaves her both protected and adored by all four men.
It wasnât supposed to go like this.
Y/n had been minding her own business, walking through the quieter outskirts of the city, notebook in hand, jotting down ideas for her latest chapter. Her novelâan action thriller that involved military operationsârequired a lot of research, particularly about guns. Y/n spent hours reading up on weapon mechanics, loadouts, and modifications. It fascinated her, though she had never been one to actually shoot. She just liked knowing how it all worked.
But her peaceful research day turned into chaos when gunfire erupted nearby, throwing her into a situation she never expected. Ducking into an alley, her heart raced. She knew enough about firearms to recognize the sharp crack of an M4, followed by the deeper, heavier shots of AKs. This wasnât just a random street brawl; it was organized and lethal.
Before she could react further, a strong hand grabbed her and pulled her behind cover. She yelped but quickly realized her rescuer was a soldierâdecked out in gear, with a Scottish accent thick enough to cut through the noise.
âGaz! Price! Weâve got a civilian!â Soap shouted into his comms as he shielded Y/n from the spray of bullets.
Y/n stared at him, wide-eyed and shaken, clutching her notebook to her chest. This wasnât happening. It couldnât be happening. She had written about these kinds of scenes, but experiencing it firsthand was a different story entirely.
Another soldier appeared, this one towering over her, his face obscured by a skull mask. Ghost. She recognized him from stories sheâd read online, from the games sheâd played, but seeing him in person was a different kind of intimidating.
âWho the hell are you?â Ghostâs voice was rough, filled with irritation but also concern. âAnd what the bloody hell are you doinâ here?â
âI-I was just⌠Iâm just a writer,â Y/n stammered, clutching her notebook tighter. âI didnât mean toââ
âStay low and donât get in the way,â Ghost growled, helping her crouch down further. âWeâll get you out of here.â
Hours later, after a whirlwind of gunfire and chaos, Y/n found herself holed up in a safe house with the team of soldiers who had inadvertently rescued her. She was still processing everything that had happened, but her mind kept drifting to the weapons they carried. They were all so finely tuned, customized in ways that made her writer's brain buzz with excitement.
Soap, sitting nearby, noticed her staring at his rifle. He had seen that look beforeâusually in people who loved guns. He leaned back casually and grinned. âYer eyes havenât left that M4 since we got in here. Whatâs goinâ on in that head of yours, eh?â
Y/n blushed, shifting awkwardly. âOh, um⌠Itâs just⌠Itâs a really nice setup. Youâve got a Geissele MK8 rail and a Trijicon MRO optic, right? Solid choice.â
Soap blinked, a little taken aback. He hadnât expected her to know her stuff. âYou know your weapons, lass.â
She ducked her head shyly. âIâve done a lot of research. For my book. Iâm a writer,â she explained. âI do all this research on military operations and firearms because I want my novel to be as accurate as possible⌠but I donât actually shoot. I just like knowing how it all works.â
Gaz, who had been cleaning his own weapon nearby, raised an eyebrow. âSo, you know all this stuff, but youâve never fired a gun?â
Y/n shrugged, feeling embarrassed. âI prefer the research. Watching someone else handle a weapon is more interesting to me than pulling the trigger.â
Price, who had been listening from his spot by the window, chuckled. âThatâs a first. Most people who know this much canât wait to get their hands on the trigger.â
Y/n smiled nervously. âI just⌠like the mechanics, how everything fits together. Itâs fascinating.â
The room fell into a comfortable silence for a moment, the tension easing. Soap watched her with a thoughtful grin, noting how her eyes sparkled when she spoke about weapons. He leaned in a little closer. âYer somethinâ special, Y/n. No shame in that.â
Her cheeks flushed at his words, her heart skipping a beat. Soapâs playful charm was almost as dangerous as his gun skills.
Ghost, who had been standing silently nearby, finally spoke up. âKnowing is just as important as shooting. Donât let anyone tell you otherwise.â
Y/n looked up, surprised at his words. For a man who rarely spoke, his approval felt oddly reassuring.
Over the next few days, Y/n became an unexpected asset to the team. While she stayed far away from the firefights, her knowledge of weapons proved invaluable. When Gaz needed help adjusting his L85, Y/n suggested modifications that improved its handling. Even Price asked her for input on some of their loadouts.
âYou ever think about joining the service?â Gaz asked one evening, adjusting his optic according to Y/nâs recommendations.
Y/n shook her head, laughing nervously. âNo, definitely not. Iâm just a writer. I like researching and imagining how things play out in stories.â
Gaz smiled. âWell, youâve got a good eye, at least. Couldâve fooled me into thinking you were a professional.â
Y/n flushed with embarrassment, but a part of her felt proud. Being recognized for her knowledge was a new experience, and it felt⌠nice.
Soap had been watching them from across the room, his gaze lingering on Y/n a bit longer than usual. There was something endearing about her shy, awkward manner, and the way she came alive when talking about guns. Heâd never met anyone quite like her.
âOi, lass,â Soap called, walking over and resting a hand on her shoulder. âWhy donât we grab some food after this? Weâve got time to kill.â
Y/n blinked up at him, surprised by the invitation. âUm⌠sure?â
His grin widened. âGood. Iâll even let you pick my brain about my rifle mods. Bet youâve got some ideas.â
Y/nâs stomach fluttered. Was this Soapâs way of⌠flirting? She wasnât sure, but the prospect of spending more time with him made her nerves buzz with a mixture of excitement and anxiety.
As the team prepared for their next mission, Soap handed Y/n his rifle again, grinning as she took it into her hands.
âTake care of her for me while weâre gone,â he said softly, his tone more serious than usual.
Y/n nodded. âI will. Be careful, Soap.â
âCareful is my middle name, lass,â he replied, his smile softening as he glanced down at her. âAnd donât miss me too much, aye?â
Y/n bit her lip, trying to suppress a smile. âNo promises.â
Price gave Soap a knowing look as they geared up. âKeep your head on straight, Sergeant.â
âAlways do, sir,â Soap replied with a wink, though he couldnât help the quick glance he shot Y/nâs way.
Ghost, watching the exchange in silence, pulled Y/n aside before they left. âYouâve got their attention,â he said quietly, his deep voice sending a shiver down her spine. âBut just so you know⌠weâre all watching out for you, too.â
Y/n looked up at Ghost, her heart fluttering. âThank you, Ghost. I⌠appreciate it.â
Ghost gave her a small nod before rejoining the team. There was something almost protective in the way he spoke to her, and it left Y/n feeling a little less alone. Maybe it was more than just professional concern⌠she wasnât sure.
When they returned, the 141 arrived to find their little civilian surrounded by sketches and pages on Soap's weapon of choice, crumpled ideas filling a small trash bin off to the side.
Soap raised an eyebrow, impressed. âYou werenât kiddinâ, were ya? Whatâve you got for me?â
Y/n hesitated for a moment before handing over the notebook. âJust some ideas⌠I thought the balance might be improved with a different stock. And maybe try swapping the optic for one with better peripheral visionâŚâ
Soap whistled low. âYouâve got a sharp eye. I might just try these out.â
Price nodded approvingly as he glanced at the notes. âLooks like weâve got ourselves a little armorer here.â
Y/nâs heart swelled at the compliment. âIâm just⌠happy to help.â
Y/n sat across from Soap, her fingers tracing the outlines of the modifications on his M4. She was shy, but Soap had a way of coaxing her out of her shell. As she explained her thoughts on the mechanics, Soap leaned in a bit closer, his gaze softening as he watched her talk. He wasnât just listening to her words anymoreâhe was captivated by her passion.
âYâknow, lass,â Soap said quietly, his Scottish lilt more pronounced as he leaned even closer, âyouâre somethinâ else. Never met anyone who could talk about guns like this and make it sound⌠beautiful.â
Y/nâs cheeks flushed at the compliment, and her voice faltered for a moment. Soap wasnât shy about his interestâthere was a hint of playfulness in his smile, but something more genuine in his eyes.
Her heart skipped a beat as she caught his gaze. There was something in his eyesâsomething soft, affectionate even. And for a moment, Y/n wondered if maybe, just maybe, there was more to this connection than just professional respect.
Gaz noticed the exchange, nudging Soap with a knowing grin. âCareful, mate. Looks like someoneâs got their sights set on you.â
Soap chuckled, his eyes still on Y/n. âWouldnât mind if she did.â
Y/n found herself spending more time with Gaz as he tinkered with his weapons. He appreciated her insights and enjoyed the quiet moments they shared as she worked beside him.
Gaz would often lean in just a little too close, their shoulders brushing, or heâd offer her a smile that lingered just a bit too long. One evening, as they worked on his rifle together, Gazâs hand accidentally brushed against hers. Instead of pulling away, he let his fingers linger, his warm touch sending a tingle through her skin.
âYouâre really somethinâ, Y/n,â he murmured softly. âDonât know what weâd do without you.â
Y/n looked up at him, her heart skipping a beat. There was a warmth in his gaze that made her feel safe⌠and something more.
Soap had been openly playful with Y/n, but Ghost had always been more guarded. Still, Y/n couldnât help but notice the way his eyes followed her when he thought no one was looking, or how heâd linger near her after missions, checking in on her quietly. One evening, when the team returned from a particularly rough mission, Ghost approached Y/n while the others celebrated. He didnât say much, but his presence alone was enough to make her heart race.
âYou did good today,â Ghost said in that deep, gravelly voice of his. âYouâve been lookinâ after us. Makes me want to do the same for you.â
Y/n looked up at him, surprised by the gentleness in his tone. For a man who rarely showed emotion, Ghostâs words felt like a confession of sorts.
âThanks,â she whispered, her voice barely audible. âI⌠I feel the same.â
Ghostâs hand brushed her armâjust a brief touch, but enough to send a shiver through her. There was something protective in the way he hovered nearby, as though he was guarding more than just the teamâs safety.
As the team geared up for their next mission, Y/n found herself spending time with Price. The captain had always been a calming presence, his steady demeanor keeping her grounded when things got overwhelming. Heâd started inviting her to have tea with him during quiet moments between missions, and Y/n found comfort in those simple, peaceful interactions.
One evening, after a particularly stressful day, Price handed her a cup of tea, his fingers brushing against hers as she took it. His touch lingered, and Y/n looked up, catching the warmth in his eyes.
âCanât say Iâve ever met anyone quite like you, Y/n,â Price said softly. âYouâve got a sharp mind, a good heart⌠and I reckon thereâs not a man in this team who doesnât see it.â
Y/n blushed, her heart fluttering as Priceâs words settled over her. He was always so composed, so calm, but there was a hint of something more in his gaze tonight.
âI⌠Iâve never met anyone like you either, Captain,â Y/n whispered, her voice trembling slightly.
Priceâs hand found hers, his thumb brushing across her knuckles in a tender gesture. âJohn,â he corrected gently. âCall me John.â
The bonds between Y/n and the members of Task Force 141 had been growing stronger every day, but as time passed, the affection each man held for her became undeniable. They had all noticed the way they each gravitated toward herâthe protective glances, the subtle touches, the playful teasing that always ended with Y/n blushing. None of them felt jealousy; instead, they shared a sense of understanding that their love for her wasnât something that needed to be exclusive.
One evening, after another long day of planning and preparation, the team sat around a campfire, Y/n nestled comfortably between them. Ghost sat beside her, his large hand resting gently on her thigh, while Soap leaned against her shoulder, his arm draped around her waist. Gaz sat across from them, his gaze warm as he watched her, and Price, always calm and collected, looked at her with a fondness that had grown over time.
Y/n felt the tension in the air, but it wasnât uncomfortable. It was as if they were all waiting for something to be said, some unspoken truth to be acknowledged. Finally, Soap was the one to break the silence.
âLass,â he began, his voice unusually soft, âweâve all been dancinâ around this for a while now. Itâs clear we all care about youâmore than just mates, if you know what I mean.â
Y/nâs heart pounded in her chest as she looked around the fire, meeting each manâs gaze in turn. They were all watching her, waiting for her response, but there was no pressure in their eyes. Only love and patience.
She swallowed hard, her hands trembling slightly. âI⌠I care about all of you too,â she whispered, her voice barely audible. âBut how⌠I mean, is this even possible?â
Price smiled, the kind of smile that always put her at ease. âItâs possible if we make it so,â he said gently. âWeâve all had a talk, and none of us want to hold you back or keep you from anyone else. If this is what you want, weâll figure it out together.â
Ghostâs hand tightened slightly on her thigh, his gaze dark and protective. âWeâll take care of you, Y/n,â he murmured. âAll of us.â
Gaz nodded, his usual playful demeanor softened by the seriousness of the moment. âYou donât have to choose between us. Weâre in this together, yeah?â
Tears welled up in Y/nâs eyes, but they werenât from sadness or confusionâthey were from relief. She had never imagined that the people she had grown so close to could share their love so openly, without jealousy or resentment. It was a kind of love she had never known, but one she had always craved.
âI⌠I want this,â she said finally, her voice stronger now. âI want all of you.â
As time went on, the team found their rhythm. They took turns spending time with Y/nâsometimes individually, sometimes together. There was no need for jealousy or competition, because they all knew that Y/n loved them equally, and they loved both her and each other in return. The dynamic was based on mutual respect, love, and understanding.
When they were on missions, they worked seamlessly together, their bond only strengthening their performance in the field. Back at base, they shared moments of intimacy and laughter, knowing that their love for Y/nâand for each otherâwas something rare and beautiful.
Y/n had never felt so loved or accepted. Each of them brought something different to her life, and together, they completed her in ways she had never imagined possible. And in return, she gave them her heart, her trust, and her loveâknowing that, together, they were unstoppable.

âYou have me. Until every last star in the galaxy dies. You have me.â - Amie Kaufman
Masterlist
Burning and shredding, you felt yourself being torn apart and remade, your mind split and shattered only to be pieced back together again.
You were everywhere and everywhen at once. Threads, intersecting and glimmering spread out before you, like a hundred violins smashed together, strings overlapping as they cried a haunting tune. Your hand reached out, brushing against the gossamer strands, and visions unlike any other flooded your mind.
You stood atop the ruins of Piltover, your hand intertwined with Viktor's. His mask was gone, revealing a face covered in glowing Hextech augmentations. You wore a crown of twisted metal and crackling energy, your eyes ablaze with power. The city below was a spectacle of gleaming chrome and pulsing light, every citizen augmented and connected to a vast network. You had remade the world in Viktorâs image, free from the tyranny of emotion and human frailty. But as you looked upon your perfect creation, a hollowness echoed within your chest where your heart used to be.
Another thread pulled you in, and you were beset by rage and grief. Piltover burned around you, great plumes of smoke rising into the blood-red sky. Your magic, fueled by anguish, tore through the city like a hurricane. Buildings crumbled, bridges collapsed, and the screams of the dying filled the air. You kneeled at the epicentre of the destruction, tears streaming down your ash-covered face as you cradled Viktor's broken body. Sobs heaved from your chest, strings of spit strung between your teeth as you cried, open-mouthed and feral. He had died trying to stop you, and in your madness, you had struck him down. As the last remnants of the city fell, you realized too late the cost of your vengeance.
Tossed again like a doll held by a rambunctious little girl, you were thrown into a jarringly different scene. Piltover was saved, but at a terrible price. You stood before a cheering crowd, hailed as part of the city's saviours. Jayce stood beside you, his face grim but grateful. But Viktor was gone. You had stopped his plan, prevented the destruction he would have wrought, but in doing so, you had lost him forever. As the crowd's adulation washed over you, you felt nothing but a numbing emptiness, a black hole in your chest that sucked in everything that made you, you.
You pulled back, gasping, overwhelmed by the intensity of the visions. But they kept coming, each one more vivid than the last.
In one, you and Viktor worked together, using your combined powers to heal the rift between Piltover and Zaun. You saw yourself mediating disputes, your empathy tempering Viktor's logic, your magic able to give him his emotions back and keep him level. The two cities flourished, technology and humanity in perfect balance. But the constant struggle wore on you both, and you saw the light in Viktor's eyes dim with each passing year, slowly becoming more machine than human, going too far for even your magic to reach.
Another showed you alone, wandering the world as an immortal being of pure magic. You had absorbed so much power that your human form had burned away entirely. Centuries passed in the blink of an eye as you drifted, searching for meaning, for connection, for anything to fill the Viktor-shaped void in your heart.
Thread after thread, timeline after timeline unfolded before you - for that was what they were, all possible futures. In some, you ruled. In others, you destroyed. In a few, you saved the world. But in none of them did you truly have Viktor - the man you loved, whole and happy and by your side.
Ethereal and serene as freshly fallen snow, Soraka's voice echoed through the swirling chaos of timelines, gentle yet insistent. "You must choose a path," she urged.
You hadnât expected to hear her again, and though you couldnât see her through the haze of the shimmering strands, you found an odd comfort that she was there with you, at the end. She had made this all possible in the first place, hadnât she? It seemed only fitting.
But you had suffered enough and you refused to accept a future without Viktor, without the love and happiness you both deserved. With grim determination, you reached out, not to grasp a single thread, but to gather them all in your hands. The timelines thrummed with power, vibrating against your skin like living things.
"I will make my own path," you declared, your voice resonating with newfound purpose and the lost dreams of those who should have lived to see them come to fruition. "I'll carve it from the bedrock and brimstone if I have to."
The how was yet to make itself clear, but you could feel the immense power that ran through the threads, magic calling to magic, begging to be used.
Soraka appeared by your side, but she was no longer the same as when you last saw her. Her once violet skin and warrior's attire had been replaced with an otherworldly form, one that radiated with divine power - one that befitted a goddess.
Her skin, pale as the morning sky, glowed with soft moonlight from within. Robes of the finest silks in shades of gold, azure, and white adorned her slender frame, her large sleeves giving her a royal air. A horn crafted from emerald stone sat atop her forehead, framed by an ornate crown and the soft tresses of pure white hair. Her gown cascaded down to cover her legs, the skirt shimmering as though it was made of gently flowing water.
Her eyes, filled with infinite compassion, met yours. "You walk a dangerous path, little one," she said softly. "But I cannot deny the strength of your love."
A single tear rolled down her cheek, glowing with celestial light. As it fell, she caught it, holding it out to you. "You will need this," she said, her voice tinged with both sorrow and hope. "A fragment of divine essence, freely given. May it provide the last piece that you require."
You took the tear, feeling its warmth pulse against your palm. "Thank you," you whispered, your voice thick and trembling.
Soraka smiled. "Good luck," she said simply, before fading away, leaving you alone with your monumental task.
You clutched the threads and the tear, feeling their power buzzing against your skin like a heartbeat. With a deep breath, you closed your eyes and let yourself fall into the cosmic tapestry.
The threads wrapped around you, a story of infinite possibilities. Soraka's tear dissolved, seeping into your soul. Power surged through you, raw and primal. It was like swallowing a star, your body incandescent with energy.
You were the eye of a hurricane, the calm center as madness swirled around you. Memories and futures crashed together like tectonic plates, grinding and reshaping reality. Your mind expanded, consciousness stretching across time and space.
You were the stars, the inky vast expanse of nothingness that cradled them in its hands. You were the sun, the moon, the wishes that children made when light streaked across the sky. Your hair blended with the cosmos, your eyes alight with their eternal shine. Hope and love and dreams made real.Â
This was what you were meant to be; a bringer of comfort, a being of protection.Â
Colours you'd never seen before painted your vision. Sounds beyond human comprehension filled your ears. You tasted stardust and felt the birth of galaxies in your bones.
Souls burned like small golden balls of flame all around you. Everywhere you looked you saw them, drifting, floating, winking out as others took their space. Your teeth rattled with their rage, their terror, your lips tingling with their joy and love and laughter. Curiosity plucked at your ribs, grief squeezed at your heart. It was chaos and confusion, a little boy lost in a bustling city, crying for his father, a young woman navigating her new school campus, afraid of being away from home for the first time in her life. It was the warmth of putting oneâs feet up by the fire after a long day out in the snow, a cat curling up in their owner's lap, digging their nails into soft flesh as they purred their satisfaction - even as it hurt.Â
It was everything, and by the gods it was beautiful.Â
Like floating down a trickling stream, you turned, seeking, searching, reaching out with the love that tangled like vines around your heart, grown into the steady beat until it became one.Â
And the flow of your love was met with its reflection, the love that was given so freely to you - once lost, but found again. You would have sobbed your relief, made rivers form from mountains as you eroded the weathered rock with your salty tears, but contentment took its place.Â
Swooping towards the pull of your mirrored heart like a bird fluttering in a gentle breeze, you came upon the ethereal golden glow of the two souls that belonged to those you held dear.Â
ââmust go, Jayce, and take MilĂĄ with you.â The unmistakable accent of Viktorâs voice floated through the stars, through your fingers and up to your ears.Â
âWe finish this together, and you know she would never abandon you either.â Jayce, firm in his conviction, his soul pulsing with the strength of his belief.Â
You chuckled, the sound reverberating through the emptiness as the souls turned their attention to you. As swift as the wind at the front of a storm head, you closed the remaining distance, and blinked, the souls glowing softly in one moment, and in the next, floated the two men on the precipice of ending this war.Â
Jayce, with his flowing locks and scruffy beard, watched you with awe in his dark eyes.
And Viktor, your lovely, sweet Viktor, looking just as you remembered before the changes - his hair shining a startling white, but beneath you knew the waves of chestnut remained - reached towards you, hand outstretched and curious. But you were much too large, your form stretched across the night sky, and his palm took up no more space than a freckle upon your cheek. Still, you leaned into his touch, into the soft curves of his fingers, his calluses.
âMilĂĄcku,â he whispered with reverence, eyes wide and lips parted.
âHeâs right,â you said, your voice falling over them like a rain. âIâm not going anywhere. You do your work, and Iâll do mine. Deal?âÂ
âA team, like always,â Jayce agreed, holding his hand out for Viktor, arcane stone in his palm.Â
There was nothing left for you to say, and as Viktor reached for his partner, you stretched and grew until they sat in the palm of your hands, glowing souls that collided in a blinding array of sparks.Â
You wove your magic around them, a shimmering cocoon of starlight and dreams made real. As they burned brighter, you felt their souls pulsing with power, their essences intertwining. Your cosmic fingers gently cradled them, keeping them safe as the energy built to a new height.
You watched, breathless, as streams of magic curled around Viktor and Jayce, binding them together in a dance of light and shadow. Their forms blurred, becoming indistinct as they merged with the arcane energy.
Colours exploded outward, each hue carrying a memory, an emotion. You saw flashes of their shared past - late nights in the lab, heated arguments that turned to laughter, quiet moments of understanding. Love, frustration, hope, and determination. It was all there, and it was stunning.
The light grew blinding, forcing you to squint even with your cosmic eyes. You felt the surge building and your heart raced, a staccato rhythm that echoed through the vastness of space.
With a soundless roar, Viktor and Jayce's combined energy erupted. The force of it threatened to tear reality apart, to scatter their souls. But you were ready.
You tightened your web of magic, wrapping it around them like a net. The threads of your power, woven from galaxies and divine tears, held firm. You poured every ounce of your love, your hope, your unwavering belief in them into that protective barrier.
When the explosion finally subsided, you were left holding two softly glowing orbs - Viktor and Jayce's souls, preserved and protected, shining with the same light blue hue as your magic.
Tears of relief and joy streamed down your cheeks, each droplet a newborn star. You had done it. They were safe, plucked from the edge of extinction and held in your palms like the most precious of pearls.Â
You breathed deeply, your inhale rippling across reality like a stone cast into still waters. You needed somewhere to go, somewhere where you could all finally get the rest you were owed.
"Go forth my child,â Soraka had whispered to you as youâd fallen through the void for the first time. âLike a blazing comet streaking through the darkened sky. Your mission is clear: to mend their broken bodies and souls, to rescue them from certain death. You hold the key to their salvation, the only hope for a future free from destruction."
You had thought youâd failed, had allowed death and destruction to reign, but perhaps youâd been looking at it wrong. Death would happen no matter what you did, it was the cycle of life. But after lifeâŚnothing but oblivion. That was, until you.
With a gentle exhale, you willed a new reality into existence, fuelled by your magic. The cosmos shimmered and parted like a curtain, revealing a realm of breathtaking beauty. Rolling hills of soft, luminescent grass stretched as far as the eye could see, each blade swaying in a breeze that carried the whispers of a thousand lifetimes. The sky above was an ever-changing background of colours, auroras dancing in mesmerizing patterns.
Crystal-clear streams meandered through the landscape, their waters gleaming with memories of joy and laughter. Trees with silver bark and leaves of spun starlight dotted the hills, their branches reaching towards the heavens - though, you supposed, this was as close to heaven as one could get. Beneath their canopies, shimmering flowers bloomed, each petal a fragment of a cherished moment.
You felt a stirring in your chest. The three souls you had gathered - the warmth of a friend, the love of a father, and the curiosity of a child - began to float towards this new paradise. They drifted from your heart like dandelion seeds on the wind, each carrying a piece of your essence with them. They would be the first to enjoy the afterlife you had created, but they would not be the last.
Opening your hands, you freed both Jayce and Viktor from your pull, letting them fall like leaves in autumn towards the haven that awaited them. It would all be over soon, you could rest, be free from pain and suffering at long last, andâ
Viktorâs soul remained unmoving, his brilliant light dim and pulsing, the taste of rain on a gloomy day hitting the back of your tongue. You returned your hands to holding him, but where heâd once felt like determination and fear, he now felt like the screaming anguish of someone whoâd lost everything at their own hands. And with all your power, the magic that flowed over and through you like a dying star given rebirth, you couldnât cure his self-blame. But you were still you, even made of starlight and the memories of millions, and perhaps, that was what Viktor needed most; not the goddess, but simply you, his milĂĄÄku.Â
You inhaled, deep and expansive, your lungs filling with the nothingness around you, and when you exhaled, you released pieces of yourself into the galaxy, shrinking down until youâd returned to your human height. Were you still human?Â
Existential questions could wait, what was most important was Viktor, his soul, tinged in your protective blue glue, floating before you. With a wave of your hand, you returned his form back to him, channeling your magic. He could communicate - you think - in his soul-form, but whether he knew how, or could express as much was not clear.Â
He was exactly how you remembered him on the day of the council explosion; his hair swept back and curled around his ears, devoid of any metal, thin, but entirely himself. The only difference being the press of guilt sitting heavy on his shoulders, curling them in, and the dullness of his once brilliant eyes.Â
Without thinking, you reached for him, hand outstretched, needing to feel him, to know he was real. But you came to an abrupt stop when he flinched, not meeting your gaze, head hung.Â
Silence stretched between you, the distance becoming a gaping canyon. You wanted to hold him, to offer him comforting words, but not before he was ready.Â
And maybe your own anger over your own loss had you hesitating to try.Â
âTheyâre gone, arenât they?â His eyes flicked up to meet yours, your form of starlight and the darkness of space shimmering at the edges.Â
You didnât need to confirm it, he already knew, had felt their souls disintegrate when he took over their bodies.Â
He sucked his teeth, shaking his head. âThey came to me for healing, they were vulnerable and desperate and I-I used them,â he spat. âI burned their souls out of their bodies and they are lost forever because of me.â
âViktorââ you started, but he was quick to cut you off.Â
âI do not deserve what you have made,â he turned towards the space youâd carved out of nothing, where youâd laid the foundations for something better than non-existence. âItâŚradiates goodness and purity, I cannot go there.â
It was simple to keep your face carefully blank when it wasnât a face at all, and merely a collection of constellations. âSulking out here wonât bring them back.â
His head turned to you with a sharp twist of his neck, incredulous disbelief in the curve of his brows. âHow do you not despise me? Charlotte, you loved her, and I destroyed her.â
Your chest bloomed with a swirl of blue and violet stars, your grief laid bare. âYes, you did,â your voice wavered, âIâŚam angry and hurt but itâs not directly solely at you - there were many factors that led to Charlotteâs death and the destruction of her soul. I blame myself too, I blame Piltover and their lack of care for the citizens of Zaun, I blame Jayce for killing that last piece of your humanity you had left, and yes, I blame you, though it is unfair to say there were no other circumstances that led to this ending. Your mind was corrupted, and I do have some experience with what thatâs like. With time, I will heal, but you will have to exist with that guilt forever. There is nothing you can do, no one left to pardon you.âÂ
It was harsh, but honest, and you did not have the energy to shield the truth from him, nor did you believe it would help. Still, the agonized grimace that twisted his lips, the tears gathering in his eyes, had your limbs tingling with the need to hold him tight, to soothe your hand down his hair and tell him everything would be okay.
âI donât want that.â He pulled back his upper lip in a sneer, his teeth clenched.Â
âToo bad,â you shot back. âYou donât get to shy away from the things youâve done, to drift off into nothingness because it would be easier than facing it. I have never known you to be such a coward.â He flinched again and you stopped yourself, your hands clenched into fists. Taking out your anger and grief on him while he was already in such a vulnerable state would not benefit anyone.
You inhaled deeply and exhaled the stars. âViktor, IâŚdo you remember what I said to you on top of the Hexgate?â
His eyes swam with sorrow, deep pools of molten gold. âEvery word,â he whispered like a promise.Â
Your heart ached to see him like this, a shell of his former self. âWe all played a part in this; if I hadnât used the Hexcore to heal you, none of this would have happened. If we had died when we were supposed to, maybe we could have saved a lot of people from suffering. But there are too many ifs and buts and frankly, I donât care enough to catalogue them all, nor would it change anything. I meant what I said, that I donât regret a second of our time together, even through it all. I canât bring myself to wish I could change it.â
Viktorâs eyes darted between yours as though he was searching for your sanity and could find no traces. âYou absorbed thirty Gemstones, surely you have lost your mind and you do not truly mean that.â
You giggled, unable to hold yourself back. âIt was closer to forty, but I think Iâve always been a little crazy when it comes to you.â
Seeing that he wasnât going to persuade you to leave him to rot with those tactics, he changed his approach. âMilĂĄ, you made an afterlife, such a featâŚit boggles the mind. You areâŚâ he sighed, heavy and tired, affection swirling with the sorrow in his eyes. âYou are a goddess, radiant and powerful and the most magnificent being in all of creation. And IâŚwhat good have I done?â
The answer was simple, it came to your tongue like breath to your lungs. âYou loved me, for starters, and without you I never would have made it this far.âÂ
He opened his mouth to argue, but you held up a hand. âWait, Iâm not finished.â And when he reluctantly crossed his arms over his chest, you continued, âYou were a kind and loving friend, you taught others the value of science and how to apply it which Iâm sure will lead to all sorts of wonderful advances. You made me laugh when no one else could, and even though you hurt them in the end, you healed so many, provided them relief for the first times in many of their lives. But your value isnât only what you can provide to others. You fought for yourself, for your right to live. You pursued goals others could only dream of, and you did what you had to survive. You couldnât have known how it would end, neither of us did, not fully.â
He twisted his lips, his shoulders tightening, unable to meet your gaze. âI essentially killed youââ
âAnd I essentially killed you,â you countered, watching as his mouth opened and shut in rapid succession as he failed to come up with a rebuttal.Â
âIf you had never met me, you would still be alive,â he managed at last.Â
You smiled then, sad and gentle. âNot without you, not in any ways that matter.â
His eyes widened, jaw slack in disbelief. Silence settled between you once more, but this time, you felt peace. The anger was still there, your grief simmering beneath the surface. Charlotte had beenâŚlike a mother, in the short time youâd known her. Losing her so completely had torn your heart in two. But you would have time to sort through that pain, right now, Viktor needed to get to a place where he could begin mending. Youâd both been through enough, you deserved a happy ending.Â
âI-I used a whole commune, I tore out their souls.â
âYou did,â you floated forwards, stopping when he pulled back. âAnd that does not change how much I love you.â
Panic, fleeting and sharp crossed his angular face. âI aligned with a military, invasive force that killed hundreds.â
âAnd I love you,â you countered, moving closer again, only a few feet between you.
âI was going to subjugate the entire world, to remove their ability to choose in the pursuit of perfection!â His voice had raised an octave, but he no longer pulled away when you continued to float closer.Â
âAnd I love you.â A few inches now, and you stopped, hand raised to cup his cheek in your stardust palm.
âBut IâŚâ his breath came in sharp pants, tears shining in his red-rimmed eyes. âI hurt you.â
âSometimes we hurt the ones we love, but love isnât about never making mistakes, itâs about how we handle them when they happen. Even the big ones.â Charlotteâs words of wisdom floated from you with ease. You tilted your head, running your fingers through his hair and watching with rapt attention as he shivered. âViktor, I have loved you through life and death and rebirth. I will love you for eternity. So please, let yourself be loved.â
Like the breaking of a dam, Viktor crumbled. He fell into your arms, his body colliding with yours, two celestial bodies drawn together by gravity. You enveloped him, your cosmic form moulding around his. He curled into you, face buried against your chest as he wept. You held him tight, one hand cradling the back of his head while the other traced soothing patterns along his spine.
As you comforted him, comets streaked from your eyes instead of tears. They blazed brilliant trails across the inky void, each one carrying a fragment of your shared grief. The comets sailed past distant nebulae and newborn stars, their fiery tails painting the darkness with your sorrow.
Viktor's fingers dug into your shoulders, clinging to you as if you were the only solid thing in a universe gone mad. His tears soaked into your starlight skin, creating ripples of iridescent colour that spread outward like rings in a pond. You felt every shuddering breath, every choked sob as if they were your own.
Time lost all meaning as you floated there, two souls intertwined amidst the nothingness of space. Galaxies spun lazily around you, their spiralling arms seeming to cradle you like those of a loving parent.
Ever so slowly, his sobs began to subside. His grip on you loosened, though he made no move to pull away. You felt the tension gradually leave his body as exhaustion took hold. His breathing evened out, punctuated only by the occasional hiccup or sniffle.
You continued to hold him, one hand stroking his hair while murmuring soft words of love. The comets falling from your eyes grew fewer and farther between, until at last they ceased altogether. A sense of peace settled over you both, as delicate as spun sugar but no less real for its fragility.
âI want to take you home,â you whispered into the shell of his ear - though home had always been anywhere with him.
Viktor slowly pulled back, his amber eyes rimmed with red but no longer overflowing with tears. He gazed at you, wonder and hesitation warring on his face. You cupped his cheek, your celestial flesh warm against his skin.
"I would like that," he whispered, barely audible even in the vast silence of space.
Relief flooded through you, setting off a cascade of shooting stars across your form. You took his hand, intertwining your fingers, and gently tugged him towards the paradise you'd created. As you descended, the universe seemed to contract around you. Stars rushed past in streaks of light, galaxies blurred into swirls of colour.
Your feet touched down on soft grass that glowed with a gentle inner light. The blades bent beneath your weight, releasing a sweet scent that reminded you of summer evenings and childhood laughter. Viktor stumbled slightly as he landed, unused to having a physical form again. You steadied him, your hand on his shoulder.
For a moment, you both stood still, taking in the breathtaking beauty of your creation. The ever-changing sky painted everything in soft, ethereal hues. A warm breeze caressed your skin, carrying whispers of joy and contentment.
You closed your eyes, focusing inward. Your cosmic form buzzed with energy, too vast and powerful to be contained in a human shape. Slowly, you began to compress that power, folding it inward like origami. Stars collapsed into neutron-dense points within your chest. Galaxies spiraled down into the marrow of your bones. The vast emptiness between celestial bodies became the spaces between your atoms.
It was an odd sensation, like trying to pour an ocean into a teacup. Your skin tingled and stretched as it struggled to contain your new nature. You felt simultaneously infinite and impossibly small. Memories of countless lives flickered through your mind - births and deaths, triumphs and failures, love and loss - before settling into the background hum of your subconscious.
When you opened your eyes again, you found yourself standing on solid ground, in a form that was both familiar and strange. Your hair floated around you as if suspended in water, each strand containing a glimmering nebula. Your skin shimmered, constellations mapping themselves across your body in ever-shifting patterns. When you breathed, stardust escaped your lips in glittering clouds. And as always - your constant companions - the blue balls of light that belonged to your sparks floated lazily around you.
You turned to Viktor, but before you could take in his wide-eyed expression, a blur of motion caught your eye. Without warning, someone launched themselves at you with a delighted squeal, wrapping you in a tight hug, arms around your neck. The sudden impact sent you staggering back a step, your body rippling with surprise.
For a moment, confusion reigned. Your mind, still adjusting to its new vastness, struggled to process this unexpected development. But familiar sensations washed over you - the tickle of dark curls against your cheek, the scent of sunlight and tender friendship that could only belong to one person.
"Sky," you breathed, your voice cracking around the syllable of her name.
As if your recognition had unlocked something within you, your legs gave out, and you sank to the luminescent grass. She went down with you, refusing to let go even for a moment.
Sobs pulled from your chest in painful tears, your body shaking and weak. Sky held you through it all, her small frame surprisingly strong. Her hands rubbed soothing circles on your back, leaving trails of warmth that felt like home.
"I've got you," she murmured, her voice thick with her own tears. "I've got you, and I'm never letting go again."
How had you not recognized her soul when it had sat so snuggly in your chest?
You clung to her, your fingers digging into the fabric of her sundress as if she might disappear if you loosened your grip even slightly. Flowers sprouted and bloomed around you in a rapid cycle, their petals opening and closing like a visual representation of your racing heartbeat.
You cried for everything you'd lost, for the agony you'd endured, for the impossible choices you'd been forced to make. But you also cried with relief and joy at this unexpected reunion, at the miracle of having your dearest friend back in your arms.
Gradually, your sobs subsided, replaced by hiccupping breaths and the occasional sniffle. You pulled back slightly, just enough to look at Sky's face. Her cheeks were streaked with tears, but her smile was as bright and warm as ever. Her eyes, filled with love and understanding, met yours without flinching from your new, otherworldly appearance.
âThe whole time,â you whispered, your bottom lip quivering. âYou were with me the whole time.â
âYou kept me safe. Even when I didnât know that I was, well, me, you held my soul until I could come back to myself.â She laughed, breathy and tear-strained. âYou are amazing, MilĂĄ. I canât wait to hear about everything I missed.â
You laughed through your tears, the sound tinkling like broken glass. "I've missed you so much."
A gentle cough drew your attention. Viktor stood awkwardly nearby, shifting his weight from foot to foot. His eyes darted between you and Sky, a mix of emotions playing across his face - relief, guilt, uncertainty. Gone was the glowing blue aura of your magic. He was simply Viktor, no Hexcore metal, no sickness lingering in his lungs, cane held lightly over his forearm.
Sky noticed him too. Her grip on you loosened slightly as she turned to face him. For a moment, tension crackled in the air like static electricity.
Then Sky smiled, warm and welcoming. "Hello, Viktor. It's good to see you again."
Viktor's eyes widened in surprise. He opened his mouth, closed it, then tried again. "IâŚI'm sorry, Sky. For everything."
Sky's expression softened. "I know. And I donât blame you."
Those simple words seemed to lift a great weight from Viktor's shoulders. He sagged visibly, exhaling a shaky breath.
Pushing yourself up to stand, you took Viktorâs hand in yours. His skin was plush and warm beneath your touch, and his fingers intertwined with yours as he gave you a small smile.
As you drank in the sight of him whole and unburdened, movement over his shoulder caught your eye. In the distance, beneath the boughs of a tree with silver bark and twinkling leaves, stood a figure you had only ever seen in your dreams. Vander, his face creased in a gentle smile, knelt beside a little girl, dyed blue hair lovingly tied back in twin braids. Isha, you realized with a start, her round features lit by the soft glow emanating from the grass beneath her feet.
Vander placed a comforting hand on Isha's shoulder, and you watched as she smiled shyly up at him. The sight tugged at your heart, a bittersweet ache of recognition flooding through you. These were the other two souls you'd carried with you, nestled safely within you until you could bring them to this place of peace.
Your moment of reflection was interrupted by a familiar voice calling out. "Hey! Wait for me!"
You looked up to see Jayce jogging towards you, his gait slightly uneven but determined. He was cleaned up, his beard neatly trimmed and his hair combed back. The only evidence of his past ordeals was the leg brace he still wore.
Jayce slowed as he approached, a sheepish grin on his face. "Sorry I'm late. Got a bit turned around in this place." His eyes widened as he took in your new look. "Wow, Mila. You lookâŚdifferent."
You couldn't help but laugh, genuine and relieved to see him in one piece - and back to himself. "It's been quite a journey."
Jayce nodded, his lips pursing. "I can imagine." He turned to Viktor, extending his hand. "Partner. It's good to see you back to yourself again without the imminent threat of arcane destruction."
Viktor hesitated for a moment before clasping Jayce's hand. "And you, Jayce. We have much to discuss afterâŚall that.â
âWe do,â Jayce agreed, âbut Iâd like a minute just to, uh, process it, if thatâs alright with you.â
Viktor inclined his head. âOf course.â
"So," Sky said, antsy as the tension pulled taut between the two men. She turned to you. "What's it like being a goddess?"
You chuckled, grateful for the distraction to take the pressure off of Jayce and Viktor. They had plenty of time to work through their issues, jumping in right away would only lead to further strife. Youâd all had more than your fair share of that. "Overwhelming. Beautiful. Terrifying." You paused, considering. "I'm not sure I'd call myself a goddess, exactly. More likeâŚa cosmic caretaker?"
Viktor's hand tightened in yours. "You created an afterlife," he pointed out, awe colouring his tone. "If that's not goddess-like, I do not know what is."
You leaned into him, savouring his warmth. How close youâd come to losing himâŚyou didnât want to think about it. "I couldn't have done it without you. Any of you. Your love, your friendship, it gave me the strength to reshape reality. Thank you."
Sky beamed at you, her eyes sparkling. "Well, I for one think you've done a wonderful job. This place is beautiful."
As if in response to her words, the sky above you erupted in bright aurora-like waves of light that danced across the heavens.
"It's incredible," Viktor breathed. He turned to you, a hint of his old curiosity gleaming in his eyes. "How does it work?â
"I'm not entirely sure yet," you admitted. "It's all still so new. But I thinkâŚ" You paused, reaching out with your newfound senses.
The realm pulsed around you, alive in ways you were only beginning to understand. You could feel the ebb and flow of energy, the intricate webs of connection between all things. It was gorgeous and frightening, like holding a living star in your hands.
"I think it's responsive," you said slowly, "to emotions, needs, and desires. It's not just a static place, but something that can grow and change."
As if to demonstrate your point, a cluster of flowers suddenly bloomed at Viktorâs feet. Their petals were translucent, catching the light in rainbow hues.
"Fascinating," Viktor muttered to himself, releasing your hand to kneel and examine the flowers more closely. "The potential significance is staggering. An infinitely adaptable environment, capable of providing for any need."
Even in the face of the miraculous, Viktor's scientific mind never stopped working.
"Well," Jayce said, clapping his hands together, "as amazing as all this is, I don't know about the rest of you, but I could use a drink and a very long nap."
Sky laughed, her dress swishing in the breeze. "I second that motion."
You looked around at the faces of those you loved most - Sky's bright smile, Jayce's easy grin, Viktor's intense gaze softened by wonder. For the first time in what felt like eons, you felt truly at peace.
"I think I can arrange that," you said with a wink, and with a wave of your hand, a cozy-looking cottage shimmered into existence nearby. It was nothing fancy - just a simple structure with a thatched roof and climbing roses around the door. But it radiated warmth and safety.
"Shall we?" you asked, gesturing towards the cottage.
As your little group made their way towards the house, Viktor began to trail behind. You matched his pace, watching as Jayce and Sky chatted animatedly ahead.
"Are you sure about this?" he asked softly. "About me?"
You linked your arm in his, resting your head on his shoulder. "More sure than I've ever been about anything," you replied. "We've been through hell and back, Viktor. We deserve some happiness together without the threat of death looming over us. You know, since weâre already dead."
He nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. As you walked, you noticed the grass beneath his feet sprouting tiny blue flowers - forget-me-nots. Had that been your doing or his? Either way, you couldnât imagine forgetting even a second of your time with him.
Sky and Jayce entered the cottage, their laughter drifting back to you on the gentle breeze. As they disappeared inside, you pulled Viktor to a stop, your fingers curling around his wrist.
"Viktor, IâŚ" The words caught in your throat, a supernova of emotion ready to burst from your chest. You bit your lip. How could mere language possibly encompass the depth of what you felt?
To hell with words, you thought. I'll show him instead.
You pulled Viktor close, your hands cupping his face as you pressed your lips to his in a searing kiss. The contact sent shockwaves through you, ripples of energy cascading across your skin like the surface of a disturbed pond. Viktor stiffened for a moment, surprised, before melting into your kiss.
The grass beneath your feet erupted in a riot of wildflowers, their petals unfurling in rapid time-lapse. The sky above blazed with shooting stars and you tasted stardust on Viktor's lips, felt the heat of a thousand suns in the press of his body against yours.
When you finally broke apart, breathless, you found that your feet were no longer touching the ground. You and Viktor floated several inches above the flower-strewn grass, held by your magic as it glowed around you.
A smile tugged at his lips, boyish and carefree in a way you hadnât seen in years.
"I love you," you whispered. "We made it, Viktor. We're here, together. Our friends are safe, and when the rest are ready, they will have a place here too."
In response, Viktor pulled you close again, resting his forehead against yours. You closed your eyes, basking in his affection, in the simple miracle of his presence. The universe may have been vast and unknowable, but in that moment, your entire world was contained in the circle of Viktor's arms.
Lowering yourself, you made your way towards the cottage once more. Viktor entered first, but you paused at the doorway, looking back at the vast expanse of your creation. It felt surreal to be there, like a dream come true. In time, youâd figure out how to usher other souls to this place, to make it a true beacon of rest and safety. And maybe, just maybe, you could find the shards of Charlotteâs soul and piece her back together. Anything was possible when you had the power of infinite universes at your fingertips.
You stepped into the cottage, leaving the door open for Vander and Isha if they decided to make their way over, and were greeted by the smiling faces of your friends as they settled into the new space. A/N: I can't believe its over!! It's crazy to think that its been three years since I posted the first part, and the entire time in between I was thinking and brainstorming about how I wanted it to end, only for Arcane to give us such a beautiful ending I couldn't bring myself to change much of it. But now they get to all be happy together in the afterlife for eternity, no more fighting or pain, just getting to be together in all the ways that matter â¤ď¸
Thank you x1000000 for coming on this journey with me, its been a blast!! I'd love to hear what you think, even if you're reading this months or years later, I'm always looking for more inspiration to write more!
I may at some point post a very short epilogue so let me know if you still have any questions and I will try to provide answers. (Jinx isn't here because I think she's still alive)
Love you all!!!!

Hi guys! I'm here to tell you about some of the stuff Project 2025 would do to America.
Number One: Making America a Christian Nation. What this means is the separation of church and state would be gone, and Trump will implement a "Bible-based system of government". Practicing other religions could be banned.
Number Two: Climate Change. Project 2025 will be completely removing most of the nation's regulations to help our environment. Abandoning ways to reduce greenhouse gases, abolishing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, relaxing regulations on fossil fuels, encouraging fossil fuel usage, and supporting arctic drilling.
Number 3: Letting states control education. No more nationwide education, every state chooses what it wants to do. Possibility of removing accommodation plans for students who need it, no more free school meals even for free and reduced lunch plans, and the quote "Education is a private rather than a public good."
Number 4: Giving the president more power. The branches of government are supposed to balance each other out, make sure no one branch gets too powerful. This will make that a lot harder.
Number 5: Foreign Affairs. Congressional approval would not be required for the sale of military equipment and ammunition to a foreign nation. Also "The word gender would be systematically purged from all USAID programs and documents"???? "Such aid will not be allocated for helping poorer countries address the impact of climate change; rather, it will be devoted to advancing the interests of fossil fuel companies"????
Number 6: Healthcare. Removing Medicare's ability to negotiate medicine prices, denying gender-affirming care to trans people, forcing people to have a nuclear family basically.
Number 7: All of this bullshit. It's all shit, but please take a look at the last sentence of paragraph 4: "Trump has also spoken of rounding up homeless people in blue cities and detaining them in camps."
Number 8: LGBTQ community. "Proposes the recognition of only heterosexual men and women, the removal of protection against discrimination on the basis of sexual or gender identity, and the elimination of provisions pertaining to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) from federal legislation." "The goal here is to move toward colorblindness and to recognize that we need to have laws and policies that treat people like full human beings not reducible to categories, especially when it comes to race." THEN LET US BE WHO WE ARE. THIS IS THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.
Number 9: Banning pornography. Just let people be people. We have needs. Let us be. Especially when Trump had that sneaky link that led him being charged on 34 counts.
Number 10: Abortion. Are we really going to let white males who don't know where the clitoris is decide what Women get to do with their bodies? You said in the pornography thing that it leads to the exploration of women, but isn't this doing the exact same thing?
In conclusion, Project 2025 would take away numerous rights that we deserve as human beings, including, but not limited to, having a clean environment, the right to an education, access to necessary medication, freedom of expression, sexual media, women's choice with their own bodies, and possibly freedom of religion, one of America's first amendment rights.
I'm scared. I am a queer minor with school accommodations, who has no way out of America.
I don't want to flunk out of high school because my accommodations got taken away from me.
I don't want to have a child at all, let alone before I turn 18 because I got raped and can't get an abortion because of what the government says I can and can't do with my body.
I don't want to be trapped in an area where I can barely breathe because of all the pollutants in the air.
I don't want to be discriminated against, harassed, or dehumanized because of my gender identity and sexuality.
I don't want to be forced to be a Christian.
I'm scared of my own country, and what it could do to me. I don't want to die.
Vote Blue. Or else America could be turned into a suppressive dictatorship.
Note: I will be unpinning this because there have been a lot of comments that make me think I may have said some things wrong in this post. I don't want to completely remove it, because a lot of people have reblogged it to spread information, but I will be removing it from my pin.

Hot take but both Silco and Vander have the wrong strategy for dealing with the inequality between Piltover and Zaun.
When it comes to Silco, it's fairly obvious that building your own private drug-fueled army ain't it. And I think Silco does plenty of things that are self-serving and about protecting his own personal power at the expense of ordinary people in Zaun. (There's nothing revolutionary about getting large numbers of your own people addicted to drugs.) But he has a theory of violence that I find completely understandable and logical for his character, which he straight up monologues to Vander about in 1.03: "The only way to defeat a superior enemy is to stop at nothing, to become what they fear." When faced with an oppressor who is constantly doing violence to you regardless of whether you're resisting or appeasing them, it is very easy and I don't even think particularly "extreme" to conclude that the only thing they will listen to is violence in return. (Whether individual acts of violence are an effective strategy for change is a whole separate question. I'm just saying, I understand the logic here.)
And by the end of S1, Jinx has become what Piltover's elites fear most: violence that can come and find them in their nice clean city on a hill. Her final destructive creation of the season is a rocket that sails right over the physical barriers they have erected to protect themselves from the retributive violence of the oppressed to strike directly at the heart of power.
Does this individual act of violence make things better? Hell no! It makes many things worse! But it's not for nothing that she becomes a folk hero.
Vander's strategy may seem like the more reasonable, less reactive one. And I absolutely understand where it comes from too. If you were involved in leading an urban rebellion that failed and led to a lot of people getting killed by the police, for which you feel deeply guilty and personally responsible, then it is not surprising at all that you would come away with "no one wins in war" and the conclusion that the price of open struggle against an unhesitatingly violent system is too high. The best that can be hoped for is carefully managing the status quo along with "reasonable" people from the other side to keep more people from getting hurt.
Except we see the limits of this strategy in the very first episode, when ONE property crime (albeit a dramatic one) against one rich family threatens to completely demolish the tenuous truce that Vander and Grayson have been trying to keep in place. This strategy is always doomed to fail because an unequal system is inherently unstable and the balance can easily be upset from either side. On the side of the oppressors you are at best going to get someone like Grayson, who sees the value in maintaining social peace--as long as the unequal status quo stays in place--and is willing to go around the formal power structures to cut deals in order to get it. But there will always be way more people like Marcus, who wants only complete submission and humiliation for the other side, and behavior like that is eventually going to provoke even the most long-suffering people into fighting back.
And on the side of the oppressed you will have people who quite rightfully look at the inequality and say why the fuck are we putting up with this? We're fighting for crumbs and those people have more than they need; if they won't give us an equal share then I am just going to take it. And you'll have people who are just trying to survive but get absolutely pushed to the brink by the system they live under and have no choice but to mount some kind of resistance. And if those people are constantly told to sit down and shut up, accept the status quo or things will get worse...well, then someone like Silco, who says no, you don't have to accept this, we are going to force them to respect us by scaring them...that position starts to look pretty attractive.
I know there are people who see this as some sort of liberal cop-out, but I actually really like that there is no one single character who has the magic bullet solution to all of this fictional society's problems. Ekko maybe comes closest to a liberatory vision for the future, but he's still working within the system with limited resources. Zaun getting one (1) seat on the Council at the end of the story is an imperfect half-step forward and it's going to be SO personally infuriating for Sevika. But tbh I think it's way more realistic than one battle against a common enemy magically erasing all divisions in this society. And just because the problems are complicated doesn't mean they are unsolvable. The Happy AU shows us a timeline where not everyone is perfectly equal but the condition of the Undercity is much better than what we see in the main timeline. So we know it's possible! It's just not something that's going to be solved by one individual leader with the perfect strategy.

Gladiator
Once upon a time in the grand city of Rome, there lived a legendary gladiator by the name of Lucius Maximus. Ren for his unmatched strength, chiseled features, and impeccable fighting skills, Lucius became a celebrated figure in the gladiatorial arena.
Match after match, Lucius emerged victorious, defeating each opponent with a grace and finesse that made the audience gasp in awe. His handsome face anded body captivated the hearts and minds of all witnessed his triumphs. After each match he would be offered a young roman male of female slave to spend the night to take off his edge. Many slaves would line up to be chosen. However, his consistent success began to rile the senators of Rome, as his popularity soared, overshadowing their own illustrious status.
With each passing day, Lucius' popularity grew exponentially, and the stadiums were soon filled to the brim with enthusiastic spectators eager to catch a glimpse of the handsome gladiator. Even his training sessions were visited by spectators. Almost every night he would have spectators sneak into the dungeons to give him food in order to spend the night with him. Word had it that Lucius was really well hung. The senators, consumed by envy, decided they would no longer allow Lucius to revel in his glory.
Under the influence of the jealously fueled senators, the owners of the gladiatorial games devised a treacherous plan to eliminate Lucius. Rather than slaying him publicly, they decided to take him into the house of the owner. Their intentions were sinister, as they planned to subject the gladiator to a life of degradation and humiliation.
Once within the confines of the owner's opulent residence, Lucius' life took an unexpected turn. He was rude to his owner and the respected guests that came to see him. He was also fighting his guards to escape the villaâs cellar. They locked him to chains on the wall and he was enticed with an endless flow of wine, which lulled him into a state of constant inebriation and sleepiness. This relaxed state meant that he was able to give sexual pleasure to the guests in return for money for his owner.
Unfortunately, his once admirably sculpted physique began to suffer, as his defined muscles and renowned six-pack started to hide beneath a layer fat.
One evening, as Lucius languished in his drunken stupor, a compassionate woman and man managed to sneak into the basement where he was held captive. They brought him food, in an attempt to alleviate his suffering and help him regain his strength in return for some secret sexual pleasure. However, as time went on, Lucius only grew fatter under the oppressive regime of the owner.
The owner saw that his price pig was not the gladiator it used to be, still eager to exploit Lucius for his own amusement and financial gain, devised a new plan. He began hosting private sessions with his esteemed guests, where they would feast upon extravagant banquets while Lucius, now little more than a bloated shell of his former self, served as the centerpiece. His once-honed combat skills were replaced by the owner's desire to see just how far his gluttony could be pushed.
Days turned into weeks, as Lucius endured a life of laziness, ceaseless indulgence, and constant overfeeding. The owner reveled in watching the gladiator's gradual deterioration, ensuring an endless flow of wine and piles upon piles of food were constantly brought to his side. Lucius had become a mere plaything for the owner's sadistic pleasure.
To add further misery to Lucius' existence, the owner assigned his private companion, a skilled fighter himself, to undertake the arduous task of teaching the once-great gladiator to fight in his weakened state. This companion reveled in showing off his dominance over Lucius, pushing him further into obesity and degradation. When drunk, the owner even allowed children to fight the gladiator, exploiting his weakened state for the amusement of the guests.
As the years passed, Lucius grew unimaginably fat, barely able to breathe under the tremendous weight that burdened his once-mighty body. Yet, the owner, deriving unending pleasure from his captive's suffering, continued to force-feed him, reveling in the grotesque spectacle Lucius had become.
And so, the tale of Lucius Maximus, the once-handsome gladiator, took a tragic turn as he became a mere pawn in the ulterior motives of the senators and the owner. With each passing day, his spirit grew weaker, his body withered, and his existence became nothing more than a pitiful shadow of his glorious past.

Exmormon thoughts on the Book of Mormon Musical:
The whole thing was spectacularly irreverent
*does some googling* oh its written by the creators of south park, that makes sense
The bright and cheery forced smiles of the missionaries are accurate
The set is amazing, with it looking like an lds temple and everything. The backdrop with the clouds and the planets even looks like the giant murals they have in the temple visitors centers
I love the salt lake city backdrop with the mormon temple right in the middle surrounded by the more obvious corporations like McDonald's and stuff. Did you know the LDS church owns a mall in the same city? It even has a little river going through it
The spooky mormon hell dream sequence was the best thing i've ever witnessed. Especially as somebody who really did get guilt-fueled nightmares, albeit not as theatrical and hellish lol
Seeing the cups of coffee dancing in hell alongside Jeffrey Dahmer and Adolf Hitler was the best, my favorite moment
The song about turning off your uncomfortable/unapproved thoughts was also amazing. The actual phrase commonly used is putting the thought "on your shelf" to set it aside to think about later. There's literally a song they teach to toddlers about never frowning because nobody likes it and making yourself smile instead.
Hearing people crack up about things you used to believe sucks but finally you are surrounded by people who agree that this is ridiculous rather than people who think you are the crazy one for doubting
Mormons don't actually think Jesus was blond but they do think he visited America and most of the art makes him look northern European
Mormons don't really believe in a traditional hell or that Jesus hates you for sinning, but the level of guilt is still the same. Like that might as well be the case because your eternal afterlife is still at stake.
The "I Am Africa" song is so on point. Missionaries go to a foreign country and really do start wearing their traditional clothes and keep speaking the language even after coming home as if they really are part of the culture now
I was not expecting to see punk rock Darth Vader or Yoda or lieutenant Uhura or Sam and Frodo.
When Elder Price said "fuck," that was a blessed moment
I'm so glad I never actually went on a mission and could only relate so much. But that dedication to following all the rules in the missionary handbook is REAL and not even as intense as they portrayed it at times. The religious scrupulosity OCD is like no other. Like it's not unheard of for a missionary to keep working on their mission even if their mom or someone died while they were away.
There are still so many weird things about growing up mormon that they didn't even touch on. Like heaven being an MLM, multiple levels and everything.
Thanks for the read, feel free to ask any questions if you're curious because I like complaining about mormonism lol
