Headcanon:
Ayin trades videos of the general death and violence inside the Lobotomy Coproration facilities to Alfonso and K Corp in exchange for a constant steady supply of K Corp ampules and healing bullets for L Corp.
It would seem like a good deal at first with easy access to K Corp's healing products in exchange for a few managerial records of the more violent and gory (that don't reveal too much of the L Corporation's company secrets and that don't compromose the security of the company of course since they're still rival wings). So it would seem pretty good deal on L Corp's side to just send over videos of the injured agents in return for medication to treat such agents. Maybe even too good of a deal as time goes on.
But over time, as Alfonso's demand for what is essentially snuff films and workplace accident recordings, the deal becomes more and more difficult as they need to provide even more content than a normal facility running smoothly can provide. Maybe she'd start demanding even more content in exchange for continued supplied of K Corp ampules. It'd be a case of failing too much from success since all the healing medication comes from your worker's injuries and deaths. The better you managed your facility, the less K Corp healing products you had on hand which would hamper your team's recovery that day and lower the next day's work efficiency and maybe even lead to more deaths should you not have enough to fully heal workers.
Thus the Managers are more or less incentivized to allow injury to a few agents or allow death to some clerks in exchange for getting very essential healing products to keep all of them alive. So it becoming more of something like the Silent Orchestra scenario, do good but not 'too' good. Maybe Lobotomy Corporation's nonchalance for death and injury comes not from only the commonplace worker death and injury but also due to the fact that K Corp's trade agreement requires films of people getting injured and such. Thus Managers are more willing to allow a few more replaceable people like clerks and fodder agents to come to harm in exchange for keeping their top agents healed and at their peak to be able and ready to take down the abnormalities.
Ayin might not just limit himself to sending over workplace incidents over to Alfonso in exchange for K Corp medicine, he might also be willing to exchange videos of the general violence in L Corp's Backstreets and Nest considering the Smoke War would be still going on and/or still slowly dying out. Thus a lot of video footage of people getting caught up in battles between his own side and the remnants of the old L Corp and maybe G Corp, general violence as the Nest and Backstreets mix like the Kurokumo Clan killing civillians, people getting affected by the Smoke and either turning into abnormalities hunting others or becoming very sick such as seen in The Dream of the Black Swan's lore entry. Or even if the Smoke War didn't ruin the District 12, the general violence of the Backstreets by the Rats and the Syndicates and Fingers and the nightly Sweepers, plus whatever kind of violence happens in the District 12's Nest like maybe an abnormality escaping from time to time. All of which would make pretty good snuff videos to send to Alfonso in exchange for medicine.
Speaking of demand, I wonder how high the prices in both Ahn and murder films Alfonso would demand in exchange for healing bullets and ampules. Afterall, the greater the demand L Corp has for its neighbor's medicine, the more Alfonso can demand from Ayin in exchange. We don't even know if L Corp uses the healing serums and bullets for simply the Enkephalin facilities in District 12 and the branches in the other Nests, or if they hand them out to their other workers. Workers like the District 12 Nest border guards, peacekeeping forces like the Zwei, Ruin exploration teams, abnormality capture and transportation teams, or any normal hospital operation for the common man. The demand of K Corp serum might be higher for L Corp and its main facility and branches because of all the violence but the demand by the other needs of Lobotomy Corporation also factor in.
Not to mention the other competitors for the limited amount of K Corp ampules available would also be driving up demand and thus prices as well. Afterall, its impossible that K Corp is solely selling to one party alone. The Head, especially the Claws, would obviously be demanding a quota of healing serums for their use alone. And K Corp must have other company's bidding for their limited supply of very useful ampules. For example, R Corp who is very likely to be also selling snuff films of their clones killing each other in the hatchery in exchange for ampules for the winners and their more important commanders. W Corp can just as easily sell videos of their Love Town-esque horrors to K Corp as they sell the time collected on their train during said period that Love Town-esque horrors take place. And that's not even mentioning all the fixers and syndicates probably clamoring to get ahold of the serums in their professions. The fact that we haven't seen these people use the K Corp ampules during or after every fight does indicate that the product isn't easy to purchase meaning the demand is probably so high yet the supply is so low that only bigger corporations or wealthier individuals can afford to buy the serums.
Of course this is all just speculation since we could be bypassing the issue entirely with the K Corp ampules being traded solely for Ahn currency thus bypassing the need for the snuff films. But this would also mean that the prices for ampules would be way more expensive and still push the Managers to take risks in order to produce more Enkephalin to sell to buy more healing products which in turn causes more injuries needing more K Corp ampules and thus more Enkephalin needee to afford it. And so on and so forth in a vicious self-perpetuating cycle making Lobotomy Corp dependent on K Corp....which may be the intention of K Corp in the first place to subjugate a newly risen neighboring wing.
Actually this could be a scenario akin to K Corp selling the first batch of ampules for cheap until L Corp became dependent on them, and then raising up the prices once Ayin had no other choice but to bow down to their demands and make the payments in whatever form lest his employees keep dying off without the ampules. Also wouldn't put past it for Alfonso to be friendly and generous at first, perhaps offering the L Corp suspiciously cheap K Corp ampules "on the house", only to end up sending L Corp the massive bill putting Ayin and the company into a substatial debt that Alfonso can threaten Ayin into complying at the risk of the Oufi or even the Head forcing him one way or another to repay her. Afterall, the PMverse 'is' a capitalistic dystopia with corporation as nations and governments unto themselves. Would make sense for Alfonso and the other Wing Owners to try and get one over each other, trying to control and influence each other somehow, trying to drive the other wings into dependent relationships or into submission, especially ones like Ayin and his newly hatched company. One very very useful newly hatched and vulnerable company providing a much cleaner, safer, and most importantly cheaper solution to the very real problem of energy deficiency because of the old L Corp's fall and stinginess.
TL;DR
Ayin as the CEO of L Corporation sells video recordings of the death and violence happening in his facilites and District 12 to Alfonso, the CEO of K Corporation, in exchange for her company's healing serum.
This seems like hitting two birds with one stone until you realize that this creates a need or quota of violence to happen in order to keep providing the snuff films. Or alternatively, you're always struggling to get enough Enkephalin to meet the demand for energy consumption and for earning enough Ahn to pay for the high costs K Corp treatment which necessitates more Enkephalin harvesting that leads to even more injuries requiring healing in the first place.
So as a Manager, Ayin especially, you are perpetually stuck in a loop of trying to not be too bad to lose everyone all at once due to injuries and death but also trying to not be too good that you can't trade videos for healing serum. Or you're stuck constantly trying to be the perfect manager everyday, making sure that you can balance how much Enkephalin you harvest to afford everything you need and how much you can afford to risk continously dealing with abnormalities.
P.S. Ayin needs to have cool drip like Alfonso does with her cool as green uniform. We need a CG of him wearing the Lobotomy Corporation logo and a snazzy yellow and red suit to match. (Abel and his suit don't count.) Then again, K Corp needs a better logo like L Corp does because K Corp just looks like a generic K while L Corp looks so cool with it's brain lobotomy logo. Maybe the two balance it out then...hmm.
Sorry for the long post. Just needed to get this out and ask for your own thoughts and opinions on this. Maybe even your thoughts and opinions on L Corp's own relatonship between the other Corporations, especially between the Ayin and Alfonso as neighboring District CEOs, Ayin's other closely allied Wings like R Corp and W Corp.
Dear Anonymous,
Goodness me, what an ask! Though, I'm certainly not complaining about long headcanons like yours, heh. Before I voice my own thoughts, I'll have to give you FULL CREDIT and say that I DIDN'T COME UP WITH ANY OF YOUR HEADCANONS, ANON. Sometimes I wonder if these disclaimers are necessary, but you can never be too safe...
I always thought that the relationship between Wings was messy at best and antagonistic at worst, so your analysis is quite accurate in my opinion. After all, for example, Ayin's support for T-Corp ever since it was a small business and pumping so much Ahn into them would mean they're indebted to him, so it would explain how he managed to receive TT2 Protocol machines in all of his Lobotomy Corp. branches (and if Limbus is to be believed, then there are a LOT of them all over the City), so being indebted to any Wing, regardless of how big you are, would certainly make you more willing or forced to answer to their orders and bypass your own morals or ideals...
After all, on Day 50, Ayin explicitly says that he hated seeing all of the deaths his employees had to endure, so I'm fairly certain he wouldn't intentionally order their deaths had the situation not demanded it. In fact, many of the Abnormalities that need employee deaths have a workaround to their mechanics that don't necessitate you to sacrifice employees...although it's possible that Clerks were made to be the sacrificial lambs to be offered to Alfonso for snuff videos, given that they're not exactly very useful otherwise and it's implied that they're clones of the Agents, seeing how they're not even given names, just numbers and letters. At least, that's the case in the main Lobotomy Corporation branch.
At the same time, I think it was Ayin who held a lot of leverage over the entire City at some point. Remember that Lobotomy Corp. was, at least outwardly, an energy company, and energy is something that we know the City can never have enough of. In fact, we saw just what happens when he's not in the picture; T-Corp. struggles with having enough energy to provide its services to R-Corp., for example, as we see in LoR. In addition, I think that it was implied here or there that W-Corp. as well had some energy shortages thanks to the disappearance of Lobotomy Corporation from the picture, and that's not mentioning contracts with R-Corp. where LC provided the energy. Heck, the Enkephalin was so valuable that Hopkins was so giddy stealing a couple of batteries and saying it'd make him rich. Even "regular" consumers were quite happy with the (relatively) cheap, clean technology, especially when LC's predecessor was none other than the Smoke-using L-Corp. that everyone hated for being too polluting and scarce with the energy they provided.
So while I think that Ayin could've been pressured by the other Corporations into providing more energy for them in exchange for more K-Corp. ampoules or other products, once he was well-established and providing energy to almost every single other Wing out there, he was the one who held power over them. Who would possibly risk their entire supply chain being ruined when L-Corp. just decides to shut off the energy pipes? Alfonso would certainly be a pain in the behind at first, but with time, she might have to content with what she has. It's the same logic of why no matter how badly you hate your electricity company, your first thought would be 'we want to change its leadership', not 'we want to destroy this company', because regardless of the damage you'd do to them, you'd shoot yourself in the foot tenfold.
Though, I do like the thought of Ayin providing K-Corp. with the snuff videos as an 'amicable' gesture to keep the peace. After all, his plans were never to dominate other Wings, but to placate them as much as possible until the Seed of Light scenario succeeds, one way or another, even if that method made him compromise on a lot of his morals and go down some terrible paths indeed...
As for the suit idea, I actually really like it. I like to think all Wing owners have snazzy, dapper suits that steal the lights of any room they enter, and Ayin could've probably used one that simply used his lab-coat in the same way Hokma uses his coat in LoR, while his black shirt and pants could've been given some golden patterns for extra classiness while serving as a reminder that if his life had changed just the slightest bit, then perhaps Ayin would've made a terrifyingly efficient Arbiter.
...Yet, I feel Ayin would refuse such a suit, thinking he doesn't deserve it after everything he caused. I mean, compare his appearance on Day 50 to Alfonso; he just looks like a regular, somewhat malnourished man while Alfonso is in her prime despite (probably) being well over 40 or 50. I don't think Ayin was the type to indulge in the lavish lifestyle he could've led, seeing how he felt so guilty and so pained that his mind split into three pieces to attempt and cope.
Still, it was a VERY interesting headcanon, Anon, and I thank you for sharing it! Until next time, be well, take care, and see ya'!
