Alexis Cooper is the primary antagonist of DC Retroactive: The Flash - The 80s (2011) in the story “The Path of True Love”, written by Bill Messner-Loebs; this is her first and only appearance in DC Comics.

This one-off Rogue was a civilian briefly taken hostage by the Trickster during a robbery before she was rescued by Wally West. After Wally rescued her, she became infatuated with him to the point of obsession, convincing herself that he loved her and that they were dating. After writing him hundreds of letters over the space of a couple of months and being dissatisfied with the generic fan-response she received from him in return, she turned to more drastic measures to get his attention.

After all, The Flash never forgets about the Rogues.

She initially visits Captain Cold and offers herself as “the best hostage, well, ever”. When Len shuts this idea down, telling her that he doesn’t want to attract a hero’s attention and about the Rogues’ code - “We don’t traffic in drugs. We don’t endanger women or children. We don’t take advantage of deluded people.” - and discourages her from getting caught up in the romance of crime and heroics, she switches to a new plan. She knocks him out cold, steals the cold gun, and goes on a crime spree as the “Countess of Cold”.

Her crime spree leads her to target jewellery stores and museums - always leaving the loot behind, making it clear it’s not Len or the Rogues - in order to get the Flash’s attention, while at the same time going after the Rogues, incapacitating them and stealing their weapons. In addition to her “Countess of Cold” alias, she adopts the moniker “Reflexa, Queen of Reflections” before becoming “Alchema, Chemistry Majorette”, her main and final alias that she adopted after her run in with Dr Alchemy left her with all the abilities of the Philosopher Stone after she drained it of its power when Al tried to trap her in it.

Wally sets a trap to lure her to the Keystone Arsenal, where she is caught by him and arrested. Wally implores the agent who has been on the case with him to spare her from Arkham or Belle Reve, and the agent reveals he’s in fact a headhunter looking to find a hero for a growing city in Australia, and points out that she took down the Rogues single-handed and that he’s already got the paperwork sorted. When Wally protests, the agent informs him their first choice was Guy Gardner.

Headcanons for the Solaire Clan's First Live Donation Feeding as Newborns

I'm a routine blood donor (usually platelets and plasma), but today my donation didn't happen because my veins didn't cooperate. It's not uncommon to have happen occasionally due to the apheresis process, but it's disappointing. Alas, I will try again in a few months!

Naturally, as I ice my arm, I am now thinking about the Solaire Clan as newborn vampires who are feeding for the first time at a live donation event struggling to do so. Which leads me to think about...

... Sam, who is able to stomach the thought of blood bags, let alone live feedings. By the time Vincent drags him to the event, Sam is half-starved and desperate. He's mortified to have blown his donor's vein almost immediately, and even more so to admit that he hasn't yet regained his healing ability with this new core. Sam apologizes profusely.

... Vincent, who can barely look his first donor in the eye, even though William and the donor invite him to initiate a trance as practice. At the first taste, Vincent is overcome and doesn't stop after he's taken a unit of blood. William has to yank him off as Porter helps the donor lay down.

... Alexis, who realizes that there's a part of her that craves a hunt or a chase as strongly as her core craves blood for sustenance. She's not sure if she's excited by or afraid of that part of herself.

... Porter, who can't help but interrupt the feeding every time he breathes, asking the donor, "Are you okay? Does it hurt too much? Tell me to stop if it's too much." Porter is so anxious that not two minutes later, he runs outside and vomits all the blood he just consumed.

...William, who wishes that when he was a newborn, live donation events existed. For his sake and so many other vampires'.

• behind his sweet smiling facade is the most loyal, devoted and dedicated manager ever to work with you. he's not leaving his position anymore. why should he? he knows you like the back of your hand, even with his eyes closed, he knows what your curves and breast size are. • despite the gender cross of work, you'd think ness is the strict type of manager. the ones who'd scold you if you show up on set or studio late, not getting your lines or choreography correct, but actually he's the opposite! • has these little stars and hearts in his eyes as he watches you behind the scenes. he'd clap his hand happily at you when you've done a good job. • he makes it a point to get along with you. wanting to know the big and small details of your life. • never ever leaves your side. he follows you like a dog follows it's master. it's okay, he gave you the handle of the leash anyway. • highly speaks of you! every time you're brought up or at least someone mentions your name, all words of flowery praises and compliments roll out of his lips. • doesn't handle criticisms thrown at your way very well! if the director of the commercial or photographer you're working on tells you that you're not doing a good job, you can bet alexis is already cursing at them. saying that they're the ones not doing their job perfectly. • behind closed doors, he's already threatening them that if they talk down at you again, he wouldn't hesitate to slit the knife he's holding against they're neck. • you could just be standing there, wearing the ugliest clothes or your hair is not cooperating with you but alexis ness would still look at you like you're responsible for the sun, moon and stars in the sky. • ultimately hates fan signing! he doesn't see the point why you have to smile, hold hands and talk to your fans, especially the male ones. • he's the one who is clearing and leading you to the path of fame you oh so deserve. so please only smile, hold hands and talk to him. fans are only to admire you from afar. • as the event ends, he is quick to sanitize your hands with wet wipes and alcohol. • he's responsible for the fans' gifts not reaching you too. they're only good decorations when it comes to taking pictures. after that, he'll take them away to never be seen again! • absolutely loves it when you share your personal life to him! even when he doesn't ask for it, it feels as if you're letting him inside your heart. don't worry, he'll be the one to close and lock the door! • have a male idol or actor sending you a love call? alexis is already besides you, whispering manipulating negatives he made up to your ear. • "he's no good at all. i heard that he's actually responsible for tearing apart his female lead star's family." • the paparazzi complimenting your dress on the red carpet? thank alexis for that! he's always responsible for the dresses and other outfits in general you wear! • he knows what's good for you. listen to him. • one time, when a certain media outlet spread a rumour about you and alexis are dating, he did nothing at all to shut it down. in fact, he prompted the rumor to keep going! • reason for that? the fans found out his personal instagram and all the posts are nothing but with you and about you, captions that contain "fleeting" emotions and cryptic messages that one can interpret on their own. • the type to offer to put lotion on you and massage it across your skin when you're tired after a long day at work. • but honestly he's just looking for an excuse to be able to touch you! getting to stand by your side is one thing, but to be able to touch you in sensitive and sensual areas is another. • "i-is this okay...?" • "yes, y/n. does this side of you still hurt? come and let me massage it for you." • also the type to give you those types of hugs that lasts longer than intended. • doesn't care about his salary. money comes and goes, all he wants to do is to be by your side forever. • but you don't know all of that because in your eyes, alexis ness is the best and most caring manager you have!

I was gonna make a joke about Kaiser being blind, but as I went through my collection of Ness panels voicing his support for Kaiser in this match, I was overwhelmed by how many they were (the three above are only some of them).

Last week, I also posted about how Ness’ character was created just for Kaiser and that his existence in the story would mean nothing without him. Today, I saw this image that Hoshi shared on their Twitter that said Alexis Ness was created to be Kaiser’s strategist, affirming how his role in the narrative really is all for Kaiser...

So Ness’ ego showing when voicing his support for Kaiser despite having been already rejected twice makes sense… (image order is right to left)

And you know what, I’m fine with that. Ness doesn’t need to adopt a striker mentality like all the other characters just to prove his worth. Besides, he’s already achieved his own dream:

Kaiser helped achieve his dream, so what’s wrong with Ness wanting to help Kaiser?

Ness is also already an amazing player, so any development he has won’t be on how he plays but on himself as a person/as someone in relation to Kaiser:

From someone who seethes at the thought of someone else being more interesting to Kaiser… to someone who just wants Kaiser to goal even without him...

And story-wise, it is essential for Kaiser to have someone loving him even when he wasn’t “human.” It’s not really a good message if he’s only loved when he sees himself as “human.”

Moreover, in my Kaiser trauma meta, I outlined steps needed for Kaiser to awaken. Kaneshiro has accomplished three of them, albeit in a different order from how I envisioned it:

Find a fellow “non-human” / i.e. Reach out to others (Kaiser cooperating with the Bluelockers)

Redefine his “proof of existence” (Going back to zero)

See himself as “human” (that c266 goal should finally make him think he is “human”)

Recognize love for what it is.

Step 4 should be next. If Ness still chooses to shower Kaiser with love in the next chapter, I don’t think Kaiser will reject it anymore

Besides, we’ve already seen hints of Kaiser accepting Ness in c265.

He revels in the sight of her like this, sprawled across the tousled sheets of his bed, bathed in the soft moonlight that delicately traces lines over her naked form.

She's pretty when she emerges from her bedroom after blitzing through her studies and she's pretty when she's knocking back a shot in a bar during nights out with Mari and the rest of their friends. Yet, Tom is convinced that this particular version of Alexis is his favorite. Everything feels a little warmer, a little gentler, deceptively tender in a way that should alarm him.

"You're staring," she accuses, though her eyes are still closed. With a leisurely stretch, she raises her arms over her head, and he can't help but chuckle. Were he less informed, he might think Alexis is oblivious to the effect she has on him. But, a ghost of a smirk plays on her lips, confirming what he already knows — Alexis Nakamura is a force, effortlessly dismantling the invisible walls he's constructed around himself. It feels as though his world has tilted on its axis, standing and falling simultaneously.

"How could I not?" he responds. Pressing her body closer, Tom ducks his head, burying his face into the crook of her neck. His hand finds a comfortable spot in the dip of her side, fingertips gliding up and along the grooves of her ribs. "You could ogle at me too. Quid pro quo."

She huffs out a laugh. "Is that a part of this?"

"It could be."

In the unfolding of their interactions, Tom and Alexis find themselves slipping into something neither can define. It begins with stolen glances that linger for a beat too long, drawing them into moments simultaneously familiar and uncharted. They haven't officially labeled what is evolving between them, but the unspoken understanding hints at a magnetic pull neither can resist, signalling the quiet inception of something more than friendship but less than a commitment.

Cuddling after sex is a newfound occurrence born from this arrangement, born without explicit agreement or discussion. It starts by accident. Exhaustion that seeps into their bones, and the craving for the comfort that a warm body brings. Only the faint sound of the city from outside his window can be heard and Tom wonders if this is the most peace he's gotten in months.

"Ali?" He whispers, more to himself than her.

"Yeah?"

Stay. "It's almost 1."

She hums, sitting up. Tom follows suit, arms still wrapped around her waist as he plants soft kisses along the side of her throat. "I should probably go then."

Cuddling after sex has become a routine, but staying over hasn't. Still, there's the urge to draw her closer, to fall asleep enveloped in her warmth and weight. To wake up beside her, to go see mutual friends with her and let rumours swirl — labels aside, relationship status pending, she's with him. But despite his wishes, the words are lodged in his throat.

"Sorry." Alexis grins, slipping out of his hold before he can reel her back in. Almost falling face-first to the floor, her legs refuse to cooperate, aching. Tom suppresses a smirk. "I have class at 8."

"Don't apologise." He clears his throat, watching as she gathers her scattered clothes. "You're probably the worse person to share a bed with."

"Wouldn't you like to know," she laughs, pulling on her jeans and buttoning up her shirt. Once fully dressed, she leans in, her nose brushing against his before a lingering kiss lands on his lips. "Goodnight."

"Do you need me to walk you to the door, darling?"

"Nah, I'm a big girl." Alexis replies as she heads to the door. Mid-stride, she cranes her neck. Over her shoulder, she says, "Don't miss me too much, Blyth."

The front door shuts behind her, leaving Tom's bed feeling infinitely colder. The room echoes with the absence of her presence, and as he lies there, he contemplates the space she left behind, a lingering warmth that fades too quickly.
