Ghilardi/Ambrosini(ITA)

Thoughts: I don’t want to say the song choice was their downfall, because there were some bright spots. But I still wasn’t sold.

Tarasova/Morozov(RUS)

Thoughts: as much as I love these two. Switching to Eteri has changed them. The joy that used to be in Evgenia’s face.

Boikova/Kozlovskii(RUS)

Thoughts: Alexandra, that dress is a fucking masterpiece. But what did you do to your hair?!

Mishina/Galliamov(RUS)

Thoughts: the lifts were a definite highlight. But this was a showboat program, and a messy one at that.

Petranovic/Kordeiru(CRO)

Thoughts: I think I expected too much from them. So let’s blame Fedor. I adore Fedor. But whenever I see his name, my brain just flies out the window.

In all honesty Boikova/Kozlovskii somehow left their charisma at the European Championship 2020...now they look so uninspired, there is no fire in their performance, obviously they are very good but contrary to Pavliuchenko/Khodykin they didn't improve their performance in the last two years....and technically they make a lot more mistakes than before...

I loved their "Bond" program and I loved them at the European Championship 2020 live in the arena...I thought back then that they would be the next champions, they had the scores, the programs and the aura...now I feel like there is not that much left...and I just wonder why? Seeing them at IdF 2021 I was truly disappointed in the way they performed.

I am truly disappointed in their development...they were among my faves in pairs now..I dunno...

Contrary I loved the development of Pavliuchenko/Khodykin and I just kinda wish they would chose Pavliuchenko/Khodykin for the Olympics...

On a sidenote: I love Mishina/Galiamov - the confidence and consistency is amazing. Also I love their Esmeralda program (I know not everyone's cup of tea) and I still think of the story how her old partner dumped her for being too heavy and now she is world champ and he is nowhere...

ALENA KOSTORNAIA

Beautiful skater with amazing skating skills. Her short program is meh at best but I’m hoping it will get better as the season goes on.

Her free is better and I can see some elements from her previous choreo but I think she said she forgot a part of it? That would explain why it looked kinda rushed and empty in some parts. Just like her short I think she will grow into the program and perform it much better than today

ANNA Sherbakova

I’ve never really liked Anna much but she’s a fighter and I respect that. Her jumps are not very solid (but they’ve never been) still I liked the music for the season

KAMILA VALIEVA

Gorgeous spins, shaky landings, not much expression. I really hope she’s not going to be sent to the Olympic Games cause her career would consist of 5 months and I would hate that, she should get the time to mature and strengthen her jumps instead of burning her out for so short a time. But it’s Eteri and this is just wishful thinking

ALEXANDRA TRUSOVA

What an outing for Sasha! She looks stronger than before which is a sight for sore eyes. However her choreography consists of crossovers and jumps= no choreography at all. She should absolutely get rewarded for her jumps but please don’t give her strong PCS cause just nope

KSENIA

Probably the skater with the most interesting choreo and lovely musicality. Hope her jumps get stronger. Love the girl

LIZA NUGUMANOVA

Those lines! Those skating skills! Uffff love her! Sadge her jumps rarely work but I wish her the absolute best!

LIZA TUKTIK

My sentimental fav. She just keeps fighting, such fortitude. Love that she chose an uplifting beat to finish off her routine, it enhances her showmanship and I love it

PAIRS

Surprise surprise V/M are a mess still, something has been going on with them that doesn’t seem to be solved. Going through so many coaches doesn’t seem to work either

Boikova/Koslovski looked nervous and made some rare mistakes, we’ll see how the pressure gets to them but I’m sad cause they were my unlikely pair that I liked yet they behave so rude sometimes

Mishina/Galiamov another pair that I loved as my underdogs, I’m so surprised by how much they’ve grown in all senses. Working with Tamara certainly brings magic. If they finished behind Sui/Han at the Olympics I wouldn’t complain

MEN

A mess as usual but I liked the music for most of them. Misha chose Schindler’s List which I’ll forever link with Yulia 🙁 but it’s choreographed nicely and he certainly is a nice Schindler for Yulia’s girl in the red dress. Dima my love you need to work on those spins, you need every point you can get your hands on and right now they will be losing you points

I like this their FS program and like how they have their 'face' so to speak.

Glad that they mostly did everything clean. And anyway I believe and hope they have many more seasons ahead of them.

Such a shame they won’t be able to compete internationally this season, but I understand that the ban needs to be in place. Sasha and Dima switch feds challenge 👻👻👻

Thoughts: Rebecca has these gorgeous hands. And I liked her earrings. The choreography here was really unique as well.

Knierim/Frazier(USA)

Thoughts: That royal blue color looks so good Alexa. But poor Brandon almost knocked his head into the boards.

James/Radford(CAN)

Thoughts: I like that teal color on Vanessa. Is Eric’s hair turning gray?! No thank you.

Artemeva/Nazarychev(RUS)

Thoughts: How quickly Julia has become one of my favorite pairs women to watch. That last lift was very shaky. The landing on the throw triple flip wasn’t the cleanest either.

Boikova/Kozlovski(RUS)

Thoughts: I think this is the first outfit from Dmitri that I actually like. Death spiral was awkward looking. My favorite death spiral actually came from the Italians. The landing on Alexandra’s triple sal. She had to pull her leg in real fast so her foot didn’t go into the wall.
