A lot of parents shouldn’t be parents. Which is not me advocating for eugenics. Sex ed, abortion and birth control should be free and easily accessible and we should create culture that doesn’t treat reproducing as inherently altruistic and moral and makes it more acceptable to choose not to have kids. It’s an extremely weighty irreversible choice but it should always be a choice. You should have a damn good reason to have a child instead of it being something you do to tick off a box. If you don’t like kids and you don’t want to sacrifice your time and money to your kids, don’t have a kid. This isn’t an anti-parent anti-kid kid rant, it’s just so sad to see how many parents are kind of meh about their kids or straight up open about regretting them and to remember how many of my friends and classmates growing up had shitty parent horror stories.

In the novel, it is mentioned that jgy only needs to hear something once to be able to reproduce it and it’s made up to be a big thing about his memory skills.

The funny thing is, wwx is the same? After all he only needed to hear wangxian.mp3 once (while half-delirious with fever) to not only reproduce it but transpose a guqin piece into dizi. And he did it well enough that lwj recognized it inmediately.

He did it again when he listened to the corrupted cleansing (while in the middle of empathy) only once to do the same, and both lxc and lwj could pick up not only the original cleansing but the modifications as well. And it never gets brought up, which makes sense because it’s wwx and “what? like it’s hard?” is his life moto lol.

Anyways, I think it’d be funny if he has half the Lan sect secret techniques already swimming around inside his head, from listening to them while studying there, or during the ss campaign. Except he probably forgot where he heard those songs so he’s like humming a 500 year old piece while doing nothing important in the library and the Lan sect elders are twitching in their seats like: is he doing it on purpose? how does he know that piece?
