Alexander was studying in Kings college library (Does it have one? Idk y'all don't judge me I'm just dumb) when Angelica Schuyler,the volunteer librarian,walked up to him."Alexander you've been here for five hours it's closing time" she said."Oh come on Angie please I've stayed past closing time before..." said Alexander. "Alexander... It's already past closing time I would've kicked you're workaholic ass out an hour ago if it wasn't for Eliza begging me to let you stay!" "Don't yell we're in a library..." "ALEXANDER IT'S EMPTY" "Jeez someone's on her period..." "... THAT'S.IT.OUT.NOW!" "Okay okay I'm leaving...But if I fail the exams it's your fault" "ALEXANDER HAMILTON THE EXAMS ARE IN EIGHT MONTHS GET OUT" Yelled Angelica and Alexander obligated.He look at his clock which read 11 p.m. 'It's too early to sleep...Guess some more work won't kill me' (Burr will :D) He said and walked up to his dorm which he oh so happened to share with his buddy (Yeah...Buddy *wink wink*) John Laurens...

John POV

I look at the clock and it reads 9 p.m. I guess waiting for Alex won't kill me...(Not making a pun on that cause I don't want to pay for therapy) I took Alex's book about the third U.S. president Daveed Diggs and started reading...

*an hour later*

It's 10 p.m. which means the library is closed...Which means Alex should be here...Why isn't he here yet? God I wish he wasn't such a workaholic...And he also makes it hard to care...You see I'm in love with Alex (you could say he's got you...HeLpLeSs) but it's so obvious he is straight...At least he's an ally though... That's good enough for me...I keep reading his book on his bed and accidentally fall asleep

*insert door opening*

I slowly wake up and see Alex,I read the clock and it's 11 p.m. "Where have you been I've been worried sick!" I said "I was at the library and...Is that my Daveed Diggs book?" "I thought you died and you wanna talk about Daveed Diggs?" "...Yes..." "Gosh Alex you have done all assignments for the next six months and have studyed for the exams...Which are eight months away!" I say trying not to yell "I wanna be prepared and...Did you next SIX months...OH MY GOD I MISSED A MONTH!!! LAURENS I'M GONNA FAIL I NEED TO STUDY" "Alex no" I say (Guess John could say no to this ;)) "Why do you care anyways it's my life!" He said "CAUSE I LOVE YOU" I yell. Alex stares at me with dumbfounded eyes "S-sorry I me-meant as a friend hehe..." I tried covering my confession up. "John...I don't love you" my heart drops "But I do have a like you...I. A more than just a friend way" Now it's my turn to stare,he notices my actions,comes closer to me and brushes his lips against my own and I kiss back..."Please work less it worries me" I say... "I guess for you I'll try not to be a workaholic..."

A/N: i wore glasses while writing this to sound smart with the dialogue, cause Alex's a vampire and is immortal so he's been around for longer and knows more smart words  also, i was gonna have Alexander be the vampire but i asked my friend and they said he'd be too creepy and weird as a vampire, but I realised Alex would just work better as a vampire for this one shot and my friend isn’t gonna read this anyway and (last one i promise) i was gonna wait for October to post this, but i'm impatient and this was sitting in my drafts for way too long so here's an early Halloween gift

Alexander wasn't always certain about his relationship with John. He knew he had feelings for him. He knew by the way he blushed whenever their hands brushed against each other's, the way butterflies swarmed in his stomach whenever he lay dangerously close to him when he was pretending to sleep in the shared tent.

You couldn't blame Alex, there was a lot to be confused about with their relationship. Alex had always told himself not to bother with human relationships, whether they be platonic or romantic, he knew they would only be a waste of time and heartache. When he met John he definitely didn't expect to be tossing out his beliefs like a scrap piece of paper just for a human. But John was different. He made him feel different - more accurately, like he wasn't as different as he really was. Like he actually belonged in the world. He gave him a completely new outlook on life. Though he wasn't exactly surprised when the blushing and butterflies came up, he definitely wasn't happy.

A human and a vampire together was something Alex could only dream of.

He'd kick himself each night, regretting ever telling John the truth about who he was. When he told John he was a vampire, he expected him to leave, to run away terrified. Hell, part of Alexander wanted that reaction. At least then he wouldn't have to deal with the complicated feelings he developed for John. But no. John accepted him. He promised he wouldn't tell anyone and that he wouldn't leave.

Maybe, he and John could've had a chance together if Alexander didn't tell him the truth. Maybe John would've considered being with him if he thought he was a human. But now, Alex’s hopes of being with John were even lower.

How could a human ever learn to love a vampire?

So, Alexander was left with a dilemma: tell John and possibly get rejected and lose his friendship with him, or never tell John and eventually live to see him die, and live out the rest of his life wondering what he would've said.

Alex knew what he had to do. 

"John?" Alex whispered, almost scared of speaking too loudly. It was a dark and silent night, the only sound coming from the soft breeze outside the tents. 

John shuffled on his side to face the vampire, eyebrows furrowed with concern, "Alex? What's wrong?"

Looking everywhere but John's eyes, Alexander took a shaky breath, "I... I need to tell you something."

John sat up from the thin blanket on the floor, Alex hesitantly following suit, "Anything, Alex." he whispered softly.

"John... before I met you I never cared for humans. I'd outlive them by thousands of years. I never bothered getting to know any. But for some reason I bothered with you. I care for you deeply. And the longer I'm with you the more it pains me to know that one day you'll be gone, and... I don't want you to be gone before I tell you the truth."

John stared at Alex deeply, his heart pounding with fear as he waited for him to continue.

"I love you Jackie," he confessed, a smile growing on his lips as he continued, "I-I didn't even know what love was until I met you. You completely changed my life for the better, and I couldn't love you any more if I tried." Alex's smile dropped as quickly as it appeared when he realised the possible negative outcomes from this confession, "But I understand if you wouldn't feel comfortable around me anymore after-"

John placed his hand on Alex’s cheek, not even aware of the bright blush colouring his cheeks, contrasting to his usual pale complexion, "Lexy," he whispered, "I love you too. And I wanna be with you as long as time will let me."

A wide smile grew on Alex's face, "You do?"

"More than anything."
