"sorry, babe. too late. i'll getcha on the next movie, promise!" he winked over at her, extending his arm out to offer the smoke as if he didn't just crush her dreams.

Subhuman (chapter 1; part 1)

Summary: Alexander Redgrave is the remarkable son of the legendary devil hunter Dante. Unlike his father, however, Alex is incredibly involved with the hunting world and plans on joining the hunt like many before him, despite not truly knowing who or what he is. When he gets mixed up with a group of misfits, he quickly finds that there's more out there than just the darkness he'd been taught to fight his entire life. Now he has a better reason to keep fighting, a found family that makes him realize the blood of the covenant is thicker than that of the womb.

Middle school was a nightmare for Alex. He grew almost a foot seemingly overnight, so by the time he was 13, he was 6'4" and everyone was already teasing him about being the "weird" kid because he listened to The Offspring and My Chemical Romance, but then they had more ammunition to pick on him when he was bigger. Then everyone found out what his father and stepmother were and they had to leave New York, making Alex's life even harder.

Now he had to deal with Whitechapel in Canada, which surprisingly wasn't all that different from where he lived. The national anthem was different, and they didn't actually sing it at the beginning of every school day... so that was a plus. But making friends was even harder... the only good thing he had going for him was a really pretty girl who lived on his street and sometimes waved at him when they were walking to school. She was a high school student, a year or two older than him, and he couldn't help but get excited every time he saw her...

She was a foot shorter than him and had the sweetest smile. She looked so nice too... but this boyfriend of hers always looked like trouble, but he wasn't in a position to decide who she should date or not... she could make her own decisions after all.

"Hey, hotshot." Dante said as he entered the room, alerting Alexander to his father's presence as he looked up at him before smiling a little and leaning back.

"What's up?" he asked, tilting his head to the side as the older hybrid smiled at him.

"What would you say if I told you you had a job?" he asked as the teenager hummed and tilted his head.

"I'd say you were crazy," he replied teasingly as the man smiled at him, causing him to smile back. "What do you want me to do?"

"It's just a simple hunt. Just a little demon wreaking havoc on a family." Dante explained before pulling out the Rebellion, the blade reforming as he offered it to Alexander, his eyes widening. "My father left me the Rebellion and I figured it was time to pass it on to you." he said as Alex slowly stood and took the sword from his hand, looking at the beautiful blade and looking back at Dante as he smiled.

"This is the coolest gift I've ever been given..." he admitted, smiling brightly before putting the sword aside and quickly getting ready. He put on his shoulder holsters, making sure they were adjusted correctly before grabbing the guns that Nico had long since made for him, checking them before putting them in the holsters, grabbing Dante's old red trench coat, pulling it on and buckling it in the front before he looked over at the man and grabbed the sword.

"You can take my motorcycle." Dante said, throwing him the keys as Alex smiled brightly.

Alex sped down the road as he headed for the place where the demon had last been seen. The last time he went on a mission wasn't really supposed to be his first time, it was the Red Grave incident. However, he proved to be just as strong as Dante at 12, without even awakening his inner devil. He was just a little idiot who knew how to shoot a gun, and he did it with style and pizzazz as everyone realized how powerful he was, just like his father.

The teen screamed in shock when he saw a man standing in the road, seemingly trying to stop him before the hunter kicked the tire to the side and made a sharp turn before sliding across the pavement and grimacing, his bare hand scraping it as he tried to slow down. He growled as he stood up, much taller than the man who had stopped him before attacking the teenager, making him scowl as he pulled out his gun and pressed it under his chin, shooting him through the skull as he fell back.

"Motherfucker!" he yelled, grimacing at the pain in his hand as he looked down to see it slowly healing before he heard screams. He looked up to see two teenagers his age screaming as his eyes widened and he tried to figure out how to defuse the situation before the man stood up and bit his arm, making him scream in pain before he pushed the man away. "Yo, what the fuck?!" he yelled, grimacing as the poison tried to turn him, but his healing worked against it as he collapsed to his knees, screaming in pain, dropping his gun to hold his arm before the vampire kicked him in the face, sending him slamming back into the pavement, screaming in pain.

"Dante's son, huh?" he asked mockingly, taking note of the Rebellion as Alex opened his eyes to look at him, grimacing as he tried to sit up but the vampire kicked him again, making him grunt. He rolled onto his side, spitting blood before being kicked hard in the back and screaming. The man grabbed a handful of his hair and yanked his head back as he growled in pain.

"You think you're so tough... huh?" he growled, looking at the vampire as he grinned at the younger man. Alex suddenly started to stand up, as if none of it had really affected him, before he grabbed the vampire's face and pulled him closer. "Well, you're not." he snapped before tossing the man aside like a paperweight as he groaned in pain and ran at Alex, trying to hit him when the teen caught his fist and laughed.

"What...?" the vampire growled as the teen grinned at him. "What are you?"

"Your fucking nightmare." he hissed before slamming his head into his, knocking him out before grabbing a nearby branch and breaking it in half. "Go to sleep!" he yelled, stabbing the vampire as he screamed and disintegrated. The teen sighed in irritation as he dropped the branch and grabbed his gun and sword, looking back at the teens with a small smile and an awkward wave. "Sorry about that. You should be safe now." he said before putting the gun away and making sure the Rebellion was properly set up on the motorcycle before getting up and heading off to whatever job he had to do.

"You're like the coolest guy here!" J.J. said as he and Alex stood by his locker.

Jamison Joey Richards was the only friend Alex had really made in middle school when they moved to Whitechapel. J.J. was also a total loser - in the best way, he also listened to The Offspring, My Chemical Romance, Hollywood Undead and Black Veil Brides. He also loved Left 4 Dead 2 and they played together all the time and it was great... with J.J., Alex never felt like he needed another friend.

"Yeah, but to the rest of the school I'm just an emo queer..." he mumbled, shaking his head as he smiled at the slightly shorter redhead. "Thanks for trying to make me feel better, though." he said before someone cleared their throat and they turned to see the girl Alex always saw behind them every morning, his heart seeming to jump into his throat as he stared at her, surprised that she was actually that close.

"You're in front of my locker." she said to J.J. as the redhead quickly moved out of the way and mumbled a soft apology as Alex stared at her for a moment before J.J. patted his arm and told him to stop staring. He glanced back at his locker and finished putting his things away before closing the locker door and walking quickly down the hall, too nervous to look back at her before the other teen caught up with him.

"Hey! What was that?" he asked as Alexander shrugged nervously and looked at him.

"I... I don't know... she makes my heart beat... like, faster..." he mumbled as they walked together.

"Like you're in love with her?"

"Dude, I don't know her!" he complained, motioning back towards the teenager they were talking about. "Last time I checked, you're supposed to at least know someone's name before you say you love them!" he hissed more quietly as J.J. smiled at him before running back towards her, making Alex curse under his breath. "Jamison!" Alex hissed as he went after him, grabbing his arm. "Absolutely not!"

"Oh, come on, Alex. You'll never talk to her yourself!" J.J. teased as Alex looked over at her and saw her concentrating on putting things away in her locker for the year before he took a deep breath and put on that front of confidence, walking over to her as she looked up at him and gave him a small smile.

"Sorry about J.J." he said as she shrugged and laughed a little.

"Don't worry about it. I know he didn't mean to get in the way." she assured him as he leaned casually against the lockers and smiled a little at her, finally taking the time to really admire her up close.

"I know we've been seeing each other every morning for the past year... I thought I should finally introduce myself," he said with a gentleness he didn't even know he had. "I'm Alexander Redgrave."

"Redgrave?" she repeated as he nodded. "That's a really unique name."

"My family's from England. We have weirder surnames there," he joked as she giggled and smiled at him. "Do you have a name, or should I just call you 'beautiful'?" he teased, and she seemed flustered by his flirting as she smiled at him.

"Sarah Fox." she corrected as he smiled at her and gently took one of her hands, planting a soft kiss on her knuckles.

"Well, I hope to see more of you, Miss Fox." he said, giving her a wink before walking away as she watched him go, smiling to herself as he walked back to J.J. who was staring at Alexander in shock.

"Who the hell was that?" he asked with a small laugh, walking with the taller teen as he looked over at him, laughing in disbelief at his own confidence.

"Dante's son," he replied with a shrug. "I-I just act like my dad when I need to be... confident."

"Okay, in all the time I've known your dad, he's never been this smooth!" J.J. said as Alex shrugged and smiled at him. "You're Mr. Smooth!"

"Oh God...please don't tell me that's going to stick."

"It's going to stick. Because you're Mr. Smooth!" he teased, playfully punching Alex's arm as he grimaced a little.

"Lunchtime!" J.J. called as he shook Alex's shoulders, making the teen laugh as they walked into the cafeteria. "My favorite subject of the day."

"Actually, your favorite subject is when we go home." Alex joked as the redhead smiled at him.

"That's right, my suave friend." he said as they grabbed trays.

"Don't call me that." Alex chuckled and shook his head as he ran his fingers through his hair, moving his fringe away from his face for a moment to get a good look before he noticed a shorter blonde staring up at him. "What's up, little guy?" he asked, tilting his head as the blonde smiled at him.

"I didn't know they had angels at this school." he commented as Alex chuckled and raised his eyebrows, his fringe falling back in front of his right eye.

"That's a good one. Save it for the chicks, they'll dig it." he said as the blonde smiled at him.

"I'm Rory." he said as J.J. looked over Alex's shoulder.

"I'm Alexander and this is my hetero life mate, J.J." he said pointing at the ginger as they got their food.

"You should totally come sit with me and my friends!" Rory said as the hunter laughed and nodded, paying for his food before the trio headed for the table. Alex grunted as someone tripped him, causing him to fall and land in his food. He pushed himself up and scowled when he saw that the pasta sauce had ruined his favorite MCR shirt, sighing heavily as he looked at the blonde cheerleader who was smiling at him.

"Shit dude, are you okay?" J.J. asked worriedly as Alex nodded and stood up, picking up the remains of his food before he sighed in defeat and set the tray aside before walking over to the table with the other teens. "Here." J.J. said as he took off his shirt and Alex took off his own shirt without even thinking, revealing his very muscular body as Rory and the other teens stared at him in shock at how muscular he was under the baggy shirt he'd been wearing. A few girls cheered playfully as he looked around, and he became flustered when he realized he was shirtless in front of so many pretty girls. He grabbed the shirt out of J.J.'s hands and pulled it on, quickly sitting down as Rory smiled at the taller teen.

"This is Benny and Ethan." he said as Alex looked at the still shocked teens.

"We've met before." Alex commented, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked at them. "Right?"

"Sort of..." Ethan commented awkwardly. "We also went to middle school together..."

"Oh right! You were the guy who wrote a whole essay on the legitimacy of Star Wars, right?" he asked as the brunette looked away and nodded awkwardly. "Dude, that was so cool."

"What...?"

"Yeah! I mean, I knew space was big and all... but the idea that something like Star Wars could actually exist out there?! That's sick!" he exclaimed, smiling brightly as Ethan smiled a little in return.

"This is Alexander." J.J. said with a laugh. "You two already know me."

"Yes. The guy who grew a foot overnight." Benny muttered bitterly as J.J. smiled.

"Oh come on, you're almost as tall as me now, dude." he teased as the brunette looked at him and sneered before scoffing.

"You want to share?" Rory offered as Alex looked over and laughed a little, shaking her head.

"You need it a lot more than I do, lil dude." he assured him before looking up as Sarah walked by, noticing that she also had food on her shirt before he stood up and quickly followed her. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked as she looked at him and nodded.

"Yeah, just... my stupid boyfriend..." she mumbled before he untied the sweater around his waist and offered it to her, surprising her as she looked up at him and gently took it from his hands as she smiled softly. "Thank you, Alex..." she said softly as he gave her a more sincere smile, admiring her before he stepped away and walked back to his table.

"I should... I'll let you go." he said as she laughed softly, watching him turn around before she spoke.

"I'll give you your sweater back before the end of the day."

"Keep it." he said reassuringly as she smiled and nodded, holding the sweater close to her before carefully pulling it on and continuing on her way.

"Look at you go!" J.J. said with a big smile as Alex sat down and let out a breath, looking over at the redhead with a smile. "You might make her fall in love with you if you keep it up."

"How do you do that?" Benny asked, looking at the taller teenager in amazement as Alex laughed nervously and shrugged.

"I, uh... I just pretend to be confident..." he admitted with a nervous smile. "I'm not... really..."

"Alex is totally terrified of chicks." J.J. said while the hunter frowned a little.

"I'm not afraid of chicks. I'm afraid of rejection." he said bluntly, scowling as Benny chuckled and smiled at them.

"Teach me your ways." he said as Alex giggled and smiled.

Alex sighed heavily as he set the weights down and looked at himself in the mirror at the gym, his eyebrows furrowed. He'd been using the fake ID Nico had made for him since he couldn't really get a real one yet, and he'd tweaked it to say he was 18 so he could work out at the gym instead of at home.

Lady and Trish were usually at each other's throats, or it was Lady and Dante. Sometimes Alex wondered why they were still married, even though he knew it probably looked like a "normal" nuclear family to the world. It bothered him, though, because he loved Lady like a mother and he hated to see her so troubled all the time.

Alex stretched as he stood up and put the weights back on the rack before he noticed his phone vibrating and frowned as he reached into his coat pocket and pulled it out, seeing Benny's number. Rory had convinced them all to exchange numbers so they could keep in touch, but Alex hadn't expected her to call him so soon. Still, he answered and sat down on the bench, brushing his hair back as he allowed himself to relax.

"What's up?"

"Ethan and I kind of need your help... Ethan's babysitter kind of disappeared and he's worried about her." he explained as Alex frowned.

"Runaway babysitter... that's a first," he mumbled before he sighed and stood up. "But yeah, I can help. I just wanted to get a quick workout in before I head home... I'll meet you at Ethan's house."

"You remember where it is, right?" Benny asked while Alex laughed.

"Yeah. I remember it very well." he assured him before hanging up and grabbing his coat, pulling it on before grabbing his bag and water bottle and heading out, a few of the regulars he saw giving him a quick wave as he walked out.

He slung the bag over his shoulder as he walked, focusing on the road ahead as he made his way home. He'd already informed Lady that he'd be home late, and she knew his schedule enough to know that he was just training, but she'd also informed him that Trish and Dante were all out hunting for a while, so they'd be alone together for who knew how long, considering Dante's tendency to just disappear. It didn't matter though, because Lady was basically like his mother, so he didn't even mind being alone with her.

He unlocked the door and walked into the office, sighing heavily as he set his bag down on the bench near the door and stretched a little before heading up the stairs and into his room to clean up and change into something much better. He decided on an old Killer Klowns from Outerspace shirt that he'd had since he was much younger. The shirt was a little tighter now and left very little to the imagination, but he hadn't been able to find a replacement for it, despite looking. He grabbed a pair of torn skinny jeans that also left very little to the imagination before he grabbed his father's old red trench coat and buckled the strap over his chest, making sure it was secure before grabbing a belt and hip holster, putting the belt on before securing the holster and placing the Ultimatum inside.

He sighed before quickly styling his hair and checking his Medusa piercing and labret, making sure they looked good before putting his nose stud back in, grimacing at the pinch before grabbing a pair of fingerless gloves and pulling them on, quickly walking down the stairs and back to the door before noticing the keys to Dante's motorcycle and quickly grabbing them, walking to the garage to see the beautiful black and red motorcycle waiting for him.

He got on and sped out of the garage, the door closing behind him, and made his way to Ethan's house, his eyebrows furrowing as he sped up to meet the boys, realizing he'd taken longer than he'd expected. He arrived at the house and startled the teens when they saw Alex pull up before getting off the bike and removing the keys from the ignition and putting them in his pocket.

"You're so cool." Benny said as Alex smiled a little.

"Thanks." he said before crossing his arms and sighing. "So... where are we going?"

"Into town." Ethan said before the trio started walking. "You know... you look a lot like that devil hunter."

"Dante's my dad." Alex shrugged as both Ethan and Benny stared at him in shock.

"What?!" Benny asked, looking at the taller teen before laughing. "Dude! You could have so much street cred if you told people you were Dante's son!"

"You'd think... but people aren't as accepting of us as you'd hope." Alex admitted with a slight shrug. "But I'm okay with just being the loser emo queer..."

"You're way cooler than us." Ethan commented, smiling a little at him as Alex laughed quietly.

"Thanks... it's all an act." he admitted as Benny patted his back.

"It's okay. We know you're just a loser under all those piercings and leather." he joked as the hunter smiled at him.

"Says the guy in the stripes." he joked back while Ethan chuckled a little.

They walked into town and Alex frowned as he felt a lot of strong energy around him, worrying him as he hovered his hand over his gun and startled Ethan as he looked at the taller teen.

"Dude!"

"You don't feel what I'm feeling..." he muttered, looking down at him. "We're practically surrounded... and something tells me we're dinner."

"Comforting..." Benny said shakily, looking at Ethan. "Maybe we should just go back."

"She's out here. I can feel it." Ethan said as the taller teens shared a look before continuing on. They heard a noise down an alley and headed towards it as Benny held up his camcorder and looked through it.

"Night vision engaged." he said, looking at who or what was down there. He froze when he saw what it was and grabbed Alex's arm, becoming extremely frantic as he stared at whatever he saw.

"What is it?" Ethan asked before grabbing the camcorder and looking through it, also getting extremely scared before Alex took out his flashlight and shined it on Sarah who was clearly about to eat a rat. She hissed at the boys as Benny and Ethan both screamed, both of them running off before Benny tried to pull Alex with him, but he stayed put as he took his hand off the gun, looking at the teen with concern as he walked over to her and held out a hand, helping her to stand as she sighed softly and looked up at him.

"At least you didn't run away like a doofus..." she muttered, looking up at him as he laughed a little and smiled at her.

"Trust me... I've seen a lot worse than a pretty girl with fangs." he assured her, feeling more confident around her as she smiled softly.

"You're not afraid of me?"

"I know you won't hurt me," he assured her before raising his eyebrows and smiling at her. "Unless you want to." he teased as she scoffed but smiled, playfully nudging his shoulder.

"We should go get your nerd friends." she said before they both felt something approaching as Alex quickly pulled out his gun and frowned.

"You go get them to safety. I'll take care of this." he said as she looked at him worriedly before nodding and heading off to find the boys while Alex left the alley and saw Sarah's boyfriend approaching him.

"What are you doing with my girl now, Hybrid?" he asked as Alex raised an eyebrow at him.

"Treating her better than you ever did." he taunted before the vampire growled at him and attacked him, tackling him to the ground as the hunter struggled and grabbed his face, throwing him aside before he got up and tried to grab his gun. Instead, he was thrown back by a strong force and pinned against a building as he grimaced and struggled, looking at Jesse with gritted teeth.

"You know... you're really annoying."

"What? Pissed off that your girlfriend likes me more than you?" Alex scoffed before the vampire used his mind control on him. The teen struggled against it as he collapsed to the floor before slowly getting up.

"You're going to go get Sarah for me." he said, convinced that Alex was under his spell as he stared down at him, deciding to play along just to please him.

Alexander approached the house, still pretending to be mind controlled as he could sense a vampire following him a short distance behind. Benny opened the door and sighed with relief when he saw Alex.

"He's okay!" Benny called as Ethan and Sarah both came to him as he walked over to the fledgling and gently grabbed her arm.

"Play along." he whispered as she looked at him confused before someone rang the doorbell and Benny dumbly let him into the house. Alex turned to him, pretending to still be mind controlled, as Wes grinned.

"Good. Now let's get you back to Jesse." he said while Sarah looked at Alex with wide eyes.

"No way! I won't see him!" she screamed and tried to pull away from Alex as he pulled her closer and held her a little tighter.

"Alexander, let's go." Wes said as Alex nodded a little, pulling Sarah with him before releasing her and smashing his head into the vampire's, making him scream and hit the ground as Jane screamed. Alex looked back at her and backed away, pulling her behind him to protect her before grabbing his gun and pointing it at the vampire. "You... bastard!"

"Yo! Don't swear in front of the kid!" Alex yelled, putting a hand on the back of Jane's head as she grabbed his coat. "Like that idiot's Jedi mind tricks are going to work!" he scoffed, shaking his head as he turned off the safety. "Cover your ears, sweetheart." he said as Jane quickly did so and Alex shot the vampire several times as Benny and Ethan both screamed and quickly moved in behind Alex as well.

"That's not going to help you now, idiot." Wes growled as he stood up and glared at him. "I was told to get Sarah if you couldn't."

"I guess you really are just a delivery boy." she scoffed as Alex and the group slowly started to back away.

"Look, I'm really hungry... can I just get a slice while you do your whole... vampire trash talking thing?" Benny asked as Ethan and Alex looked at him.

"Dude." Alex muttered before Benny showed them both the pizza when they noticed it had garlic on it. Benny ran up to Wes and threw the pizza at him as he screamed and collapsed trying to get it off of him as Alex picked up Jane and started running up the stairs with Benny and Ethan. Wes growled at them and tried to catch him before Alex turned and kicked him in the face and ran up the stairs to Ethan's room as Jane held onto Alex and began to cry while he carried her. Ethan slammed the door as Alex put her down and knelt in front of her.

"What's happening?!" she cried as Alex put his hands on her arms.

"Honey, I'm not going to let anything happen to you, okay?" he said reassuringly as she nodded slightly. "We need you to be strong right now. I can protect all of us."

"Okay..." she whimpered before he stood up and looked at the other teenagers.

"This door stays closed unless you know it's me or Sarah." he said sternly as they both nodded.

"Are you sure you can take this... guy?" Ethan asked worriedly as Alex nodded.

"I can't let Sarah fight him alone." he said as he quickly left the room and ran down the stairs.

"Alex!" Sarah screamed as she struggled against Wes, grimacing as the hunter ran over and grabbed the vampire, pulling him back before throwing him aside. The vampire lunged at him, tackling the larger man as they struggled for a moment. Alex easily gained the upper hand and flipped him over before beginning to punch the vampire over and over again, screaming in rage with each blow before Wes wrapped his hands around the hunter's throat as he struggled to breathe, clutching desperately at his hands.

"Why don't you just go to sleep?!" Wes yelled before the hunter managed to grab his gun and shoot the vampire, knocking him down for the time being before he gasped and coughed, rubbing his neck as Sarah rushed over and helped him to his feet as he took a deep breath.

"Are you okay?" she asked as he nodded and sighed softly.

"Yes... I heal..." he assured her as he smiled a little. "What about you? I mean... you're still a fledgling..."

"I'm fine." she assured him with a small smile as he stepped closer and was about to lean down to kiss her when he screamed in pain as a knife went through his heart and he stumbled. "Alex!" Sarah screamed as she tried to grab him, but he pushed her away toward the stairs and began to collapse as he coughed up blood and struggled to breathe. He grabbed his gun and shakily pointed it at Wes as Sarah ran up the stairs to protect the others. As he tried to follow, Alex shot him in the head and he collapsed to his knees as the hunter laughed weakly, coughing up more blood as his arm fell and he landed on the floor, blood slowly pooling around him as the world went black and his body went cold.

"It's not your time yet, Alexander." a deep voice with a British accent said as Alex opened his eyes to see himself standing in the city of Red Grave, more specifically in the fields of the countryside. He looked around in confusion as he tried to find the source of the voice.

"Who are you?" he asked, looking around as he stumbled a little and looked down to see an old book on the grass in front of him. He slowly knelt down to pick it up carefully, looking over it as he recognized it as the old storybook Lady used to read to him when he was a little boy. It was a collection of fairy tales that eventually led him to his love of things like Labyrinth, Harry Potter, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

"You can't give up now. They need you." the voice said again as Alex looked up quickly to see a man standing in front of him, a few inches shorter than he was. He had black hair, a red suit over a dark green hoodie and looked strangely familiar.

"Alan Rickman...?" Alex asked as the man raised his eyebrows.

"No, you idiot." he said blandly as the teen tilted his head.

"Dude... the resemblance is uncanny..."

"That's not important." the man said irritably. "You shouldn't be dead yet, Alexander. You still have a lot to do."

"I'm dead?!" Alex shouted, his eyes widening as he looked around.

"You don't have to be," the man said as Alex looked at him. "You don't know what you're capable of yet... but soon you will. Now are you going to sit here and sulk, or are you going to actually get off your ass and help your friends?" he said as Alex frowned and closed his eyes tightly, taking a few deep breaths.

Alex screamed as he sat up and coughed up more blood, spitting out the rest before reaching back and pulling out the knife with a grimace. He dropped it and sighed, standing up as the wound healed and he rolled his neck, feeling incredibly stiff before he walked over to Wes and saw him waking up. Alex screamed and stomped his foot on the vampire's head, knocking him out again before grabbing another knife and stabbing him in the chest.

"Fuck you!" he yelled before walking up the stairs, grimacing as the wounds healed completely and he put a hand over his chest. "It still fucking hurts..." he muttered before walking to the room and knocking on the door. "Let me in."

"No way!" Benny yelled as Alex raised his eyebrows. "Sarah said Alex was dead!"

"Okay. You're wearing Star Wars boxers and Ethan's wearing Share Bears boxers." Alex said shaking his head. "I know because you two idiots got pantsed by David Stachowski." he said as Benny opened the door and looked at Alex.

"Share Bears?" Sarah asked as she looked at Ethan who looked absolutely mortified. Alex walked into the room as the vampire looked at him before practically jumping into his arms as he wrapped his arms around her and held her close, smiling a little as they pulled away. "Your hair is white..."

"It's hereditary..." he murmured with a smile before he looked at Jane and put a hand on her arm. "Are you okay?" he asked as she nodded and looked at him anxiously.

"You're... covered in blood..."

"I'm okay now." he assured her before Wes ran to the door and tried to open it. Alex helped Benny hold it shut when Ethan's phone rang and he quickly handed it to Sarah, letting her talk to his mother while he joined the boys in holding the door shut. Wes slammed his hand through the door and grabbed Alex, slamming his head against the door as the hunter screamed and bit down on his wrist, causing the vampire to scream and pull his arm away. "Doesn't feel good, does it?!" he yelled as Sarah ran over and stabbed Wes with a trophy just as his hand came through the door again.

"We have to go." Sarah said as she ran to the window and opened it, helping Ethan and Benny out while Alex looked at Jane.

"Come on." he said, picking her up as she held on tightly to him as he jumped out of the room and onto the grass below. He set her down and took her hand as they ran with the boys before Wes came out ahead of them. Alex stumbled to a stop as he held Jane behind him and the vampire began to slowly approach them before Sarah stabbed him while Ethan covered Jane's eyes. Alex grimaced as he watched Wes disintegrate before he sighed in relief and shook his head.

The trio made their way back into the house as Ethan went upstairs to get Alex a new shirt. Sarah decided to help him clean up the kitchen in the meantime when the younger teen stopped when he saw the knife that had been stabbed through him, his eyebrows furrowing as he picked it up.

"Are you sure you're okay?" she asked and he nodded slightly.

"Yeah... yeah, just..." he trailed off and looked at her. "When I died, I saw this... guy. He looked exactly like Alan Rickman and... he told me I didn't know what I was capable of..." he trailed off, shaking his head as Sarah frowned.

"Do you think he was an angel...?" she asked as Alex scoffed.

"Don't be ridiculous... all the shit I've seen in this world... there's no way a God or angels could exist. He wouldn't let what's happening happen..." he muttered as she looked at him sadly, placing a gentle hand on his face as he looked at her.

"You shouldn't be so negative about the world... there's good too." she assured him as he stared at her, smiling a little.

"Yeah... because you're a real life angel..." he said softly as she laughed softly and stared at him before Ethan came into the kitchen with the biggest shirt he had.

"Here..." he trailed off as Alex looked up at him and Sarah looked away, getting up to leave the awkward situation and take Jane to bed instead as Ethan looked at Alex.

"Sorry," he said, continuing to clean up the blood before standing up and sighing. He looked at Ethan and took the shirt before he noticed how sad he looked and took off his coat and shirt to put on the new one that fit him a little better. "Hey, are you okay...?"

"What? Yeah! Just..." the teen trailed off as Alex put a hand on his arm and frowned.

"You love her... don't you?" he asked quietly as the brunette nodded slightly. Alex sighed softly as he realized what he had to do to prevent Ethan from taking Sarah away from him. "I'll back off then."

"Alex, you don't have to..."

"No way, Bro Code." Alex shrugged. "Bros before... well, you know..." he trailed off, uncomfortable using a derogatory term for women since Lady and Trish had raised him better.

"I know you like her too... you shouldn't have to." Ethan said, but Alex just shrugged.

"I don't mind... I got my dad's shitty luck with women anyway," he admitted with a smile before Sarah came back down and he grabbed his coat and put it on. "My mom's probably worried about me. I should go home," he said as Ethan nodded. "I'll return this shirt tomorrow."

"It's okay, you can keep it." he assured him as he smiled and patted his arm gently before walking out of the house and over to the motorcycle that was waiting for him. He got on and took out his cell phone, calling Lady as he held the phone to his ear and started the motorcycle. The phone rang for a while before the line went dead.

"Damn, Mom..." he mumbled quietly, shaking his head and putting the phone down before speeding down the street.

He pulled into the garage and sighed as he stretched and walked into the office to find it as dead as ever. He walked over to the desk and sat down, resting his feet on it as he leaned back and sighed.

"Dante?" Lady asked in surprise as Alex lifted his head and she laughed. "Oh, sorry! You look just like your father!" she said with a smile as he laughed softly. "You finally unleashed your inner devil, huh?" she asked as she walked over to the desk and sat down on it as he put his arms behind his head.

"Yeah... all I had to do was get stabbed in the damn heart," he murmured as she laughed a little. "Mom... when I died... I saw a man," he said, lowering his arms before removing his legs from the desk and sitting forward. "He knew more about me than I know about myself... is there... something you haven't told me...?" he asked as Lady looked at him and sighed softly, rubbing her hands together.

"I kept telling your father to tell you, but he just didn't want you to know..." she admitted, shaking her head. "Your mother wasn't human, Alex... she was an archangel who was cast down for fighting with God too much... after you were born, a group of human hunters came after her, assuming that all fallen angels were like Lucifer, and..." Lady trailed off as Alex's eyebrows furrowed.

"She killed them... didn't she...?" he asked quietly as she nodded.

"She decided that humanity wasn't worth protecting and it caused a fight between her and Dante. He ended up leaving with you because he couldn't be with her anymore and... well, we don't know where Ophiel is anymore," she explained as Alex sighed and rubbed his neck. "Your father never wanted to tell you because he was afraid that you would try to find your mother... but we have reason to believe that she was working with Lucifer." she shrugged as the teenager looked up at her.

"I don't care about Ophiel... I have you," he assured her as she smiled softly and placed a hand on his cheek. "If my biological mother wanted to see me, she would have come looking for me... but she clearly doesn't care."

"She loved you, Alex." she said quietly, his eyebrows furrowing as he sighed.

"Does that mean the guy I saw was... an angel...?" he asked and she nodded.

"What did he look like?" she asked as he shrugged

"Uh... tall, kind of old, black hair... he also looked exactly like Alan Rickman. It's uncanny..."

"You've met Metatron," she said with a smile. "I haven't seen that old fool in years! That must mean he was asked to watch over you."

"Wait, wait, wait. What the hell is a Metatron?"

"You know, the Voice of God and all that." Lady shrugged as Alex raised an eyebrow.

"Voice of God...?"

"He's basically God's right hand man," she explained, and the teen nodded. "I wonder why he's watching over you anyway..." she muttered as Alex shrugged.

"I don't know... he didn't really explain anything."

"Unfortunately, that's the way he is." she confirmed before standing up and smiling. "Well, I'm off. Dante told me he'd need extra help on the mission." she said and he frowned a little.

"I'm going to be on my own?"

"Just for a few days," she assured him as he sighed but nodded. "I know you don't like being alone. But I promise it'll be okay."

"Until the next time dad goes missing..." he murmured quietly, shaking his head as Lady sighed softly. "The last time he ran away, he was gone for a year," he complained, looking up at her. "I don't..." he trailed off and sighed, shaking his head.

"I know. But it'll be okay," she assured him, rubbing his shoulder before he looked up at her. "I'll be back before you know it." she assured him, kissing the top of his head before she left the office and he sighed heavily, shaking his head before his phone rang and he got a conference call from Rory and Benny. He took out his phone and answered it, hearing what sounded like a party on Rory's end.

"Alex! Wassup!" he yelled as Alexander smiled a little and rolled his eyes.

"Wassup?" he replied as Ethan scoffed on Benny's end.

"You guys are stupid." he commented as Alex chuckled quietly.

"You won't believe this! I'm at the hottest party in town!" Rory exclaimed as Alex raised his eyebrows.

"Who invited you to a party, lil dude?"

"Some seniors invited me! Pretty cool, huh?" he said as Benny and Ethan scoffed. "Alex, you should totally come! There's tons of hot babes!"

"I don't do parties dude."

"Also Benny, your Dusker babe is here and she is looking good!" the blonde exclaimed before sending them a photo of Erica all alone in a house.

"I gotta go guys." Alex said before hanging up and staring at the picture, shaking his head. "No... no, no, no!" he yelled before quickly grabbing the keys to the motorcycle and running out of the garage.

spoilers from a one-short nicholas alexander chavez vampire!au that I am writing.

p.s.: this is not romantic. not even dark romance. the concept is obsession and vampirism in a... let's say, sick way.

Desperate, Alexander swallowed the bile in his mouth at the thought of her death being final-not the brief death of the human body he had suffered centuries ago. Not the human death that had brought forth from the depths of an empty vold the demonic creature he had become. In a final act of recklessness, driven by despair, he searched through the trapdoors of ancient memory, among the shelves of his immortal knowledge, for anything that spoke of immortality imposed on a body in a comatose state-nothing. Perhaps it was the anxiety muddling readings and studies between science and magic, but there was nothing to invalidate or validate what he had done. Or what he would do once again.

Pulling back the sleeve of his black shirt, his canines-already naturally sharp elongated into long fangs, their slightly yellowed enamel finding in her cold skin the softness needed to tear through it. Blood, so intensely red it was nearly black, oozed from the punctures in his wrist, seeking its own path in tiny streams that curved around his wrist and dripped in thick drops onto the woman's chest, staining her lifeless skin and the fabric of her nightgown. With the fingertips of his other hand, once gripping his own wrist and now smeared with blood, he pulled back her lower lip just enough for the thick streams of his blood to drip directly from the wound into her.

He waited anxiously for her to awaken, his blood still flowing from him into her. He, a body long since dead, nourishing another in the hope of seeing it rise from death.

Since childhood, he has had a talent for magic which is relatively fast developing, because of his intelligence. He is the art lover in his family. His focus in art is music and singing. He has a beautiful voice and is good at playing musical instruments, one of which is the violin. He often appeared and played music at Goldstein family Christmas parties or in front of other relatives. His parents were truly like a diamond in the rough as their firstborn son truly showed his true Ravenclaw side.

At the age of 11, he entered Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw house. He argued briefly with the sorting hat because the sorting hat said he was also suitable for Slytherin. His first friend at Hogwarts was Cedric Diggory, they first met on the Hogwarts Express when Cedric was looking for an empty compartment to sit. He and Cedric became good friends even though they were in different houses, they competed healthily about winning the house cup. Euijoo has the main target of becoming an Arithmetic teacher and opening an official choir club at Hogwarts. When he said he wanted to be a teacher in front of his friends, his friends immediately said that the position would definitely be 'secured' by the head of Ravenclaw house, Professor Flitwick for him. It was as if he really would find it easy to become a teacher because of his good behavior and grades during school (Imagine Euijoo being your teacher/professor, I could be Jesica if he became a teacher🧍‍♀️)

Every Christmas they routinely go on holiday together. Yuma always listens to Luna's chatter, even though sometimes Luna talks about strange things, Yuma understands that. He knew Luna must be a true Ravenclaw who was always curious about many things. While at Hogwarts, even though he and Luna were in different houses, Yuma was of course still good friends with Luna. He even occasionally protects Luna from several people who always bother Luna because they think she is strange and crazy.

Yuma is weak in potions, but he still maintains good grades. Because his father didn't like him getting a bad grade in even one subject. Apart from potions, Yuma is also weak in flying lessons, he once fell from his broomstick and hit a window, causing quite serious injuries. But yeah, the value of the lesson is still good. However, he is a pro in the duel club. His spell abilities are truly above average, making Professor Flitwick really like Yuma who is quick to respond to spell lessons.

Yuma and Draco were also quite close at Hogwarts, what's more they were direct cousins. However, Yuma didn't really enter Draco Malfoy's circle. He didn't really like Draco's notoriously annoying circle.

Even though he is an introvert, in fact he really gets along with almost all the Hufflepuffs. Almost all Hufflepuff students know that Yuma is a good Slytherin.

He is very close to Luna Lovegood (Who in the future Luna is his sister-in-law). He doesn't think Luna is strange or crazy, because they have the same preferences. He was always excited when there was a magical animal project with Ravenclaw, because he could talk at length with Luna about these animals.

Even though he looks unathletic, Jo is surprisingly athletic compared to his brother. He was even taller than Rolf. He and Cedric are very close, Cedric loves and has a sharp protective side towards Harua.

For example, Cedric is an athletic guy, while Harua is quite weak at flying lessons, because he is very afraid of heights. In this part Alexander has his birthday party down town at the bowling alley with some of his friends. The theme was fancy dress but not everybody got the memo. Alexander aged up into a Teenager and he's now: Fortune l Straight l Likes Brunettes with Jewellery.

Don comes unannounced hoping to mend things but Mortimer shoo's him away before Cassandra catches him. Feeling a little lonely Cassandra goes to the Pink Flamingo Bar and bumps into Robert Kim. She finds him attractive but she noticed a wedding ring. On the final day of Summer Mortimer invites over Betty Goldstein and sets his sights on wooing her.
