Been thinking about this art for a yet to be spoiled card from Tarkir: Dragonstorm. I absolutely adore it. I love that there's a card called Alesha's Legacy featuring what looks like a trans girl with a strong, masculine looking chin.

One thing that frustrates me sometimes about trans representation in illustrated/animated media (made predominantly by cis people) is that the characters almost all pass really well. Now, I can see why they might do this, there's a thin line between "here's a drawing of a trans person who doesn't pass well" and "this is a transphobic caricature" that I feel is especially difficult for cis artists to navigate. I can accept and appreciate that they're trying to be respectful, I just feel like they often play it too safe.

So honestly, I love stuff like this. I love trans girls with strong jaws, I think it's really hot and I'm thrilled to see it represented on a card. I kind of hope we can start seeing more trans representation in Magic outside the context of callbacks to Alesha and the numerous they/them characters (because WotC has learned slapping they/them pronouns on a character is an easy way to increase their representation numbers without needing to do much else and this isn't necessarily a bad thing, I like how it makes being nonbinary genuinely seem super normal in the setting but it is a noticable trend.) Yuma is a step in the right direction though, so keep up the good work WotC!

For Christmas this year, my mom got me pajamas. She got me a set of pajamas that match the set she got herself specifically because it's something she had always wished she could do with her daughter. It was one of those small moments that made me really happy about how much my mom 100% accepts me as her daughter now. They're also some really comfy pajamas anyways, so I'm twice as stoked to wear them.

Alex had already come to terms with the fact she was a horrible person. Honestly once she had accepted that, it made this so much easier for her to just do what she wanted and that was Wyatt. Things were just different with Wyatt. It wasn't just the physical parts, she liked being around him and if she had met him first he probably would have been the one she pursued instead. She let out a sigh of relief when he leaned into her, giving into her wishes and kissing her back because even though she had been almost positive he would have given in, there was always the chance he was serious about ending this. Her hands moved from where they had been on his chest to the back of his neck, holding him in place as she moved her lips against his. "I need you Wyatt..." She whispered against his lips.

Wyatt wasn't certain how much he actually believed this promise of hers. Or as to how much either of them will be able to uphold this promise. The truth was simple there was no escaping her and there certainly was no escaping the effect she had on him. He didn't even know if it was something he wanted to do. Regardless of how guilty he felt about everything and how much he knew they should bring an end to things he simply couldn't help himself. And after everything there was one thing he was certain about and that was how much he wanted to have her. He waited for some time before he finally found himself sighing softly at her. Wyatt looked into her eyes for a few moments before he leaned in towards her and pressed his lips against hers into a deep and passionate kiss. He knew there was no way to escape this feeling and at long last he didn't want to. Giving into her was much better than the alternative as he kissed her with his arms wrapped around her tightly.

Have I ever actually mentioned how addicted I am to brewing Magic decks? I currently have 37 Commander decks... that is to say the decks I currently have physically built for playing with. I just thought it might be fun to share a list of them, complete with Moxfield links. I even sorted them into a few different categories for better organization.

Trans Women of Magic (pet project to build a deck around every canon trans woman on a Magic card)

Alesha Says Trans Rights - Alesha, Who Smiles at Death. RWB power 2 or less recursion shenanigans. My personal favorite deck.

Ballroom Blitz - Xantcha, Sleeper Agent. BR goad and group "hug."

Hit and Run Time - Arcee, Sharpshooter. RW +1/+1 counters and combat tricks.

Legends Never Die - Alesha, Who Laughs at Fate. RB reanimator and +1/+1 counters. (Characters who get multiple cards I'm probably only going to hold myself to building one deck per character, but I like how Granny Alesha plays well enough to build her anyways.)

The Doctors Are In - Rose Noble and The Fourteenth Doctor. WURG Doctor Who themed deck, mainly wins via Gallifrey Stands.

When Fluffy Bunnies Attack - Cadira, Caller of the Small. GW tokens.

Vampire - Anje, Maid of Dishonor. BR vampire typal with a blood subtheme. (Second iteration of the deck, original one was heavily water damaged by a cat dumping it into the dog's water dish right after I had sleeved it...which managed to save some cards at least.)

Warrior - Tazri, Beacon of Unity. 5 color warrior typal with token subtheme. (Originally a Najeela, the Blade-Blossom deck but not one of those Najeela decks so I changed the commander so I wouldn't get auto targeted for running a powerful commander.)

These parties were only fun for so long or well for Alex from the minute they started she was bored out of her mind. She hated the whole having to walk around and greet her parents friends. It didn't help that most people her age blended in too well into the scene and were also just as boring as her parents. Well almost everyone except for the one person she could always count on to make these things less boring. "So I think now would be a great time for us to sneak off because both of our parents look distracted enough." She told the other as she had smoothly walked up to them.
