funny that you ask, since i literally was just thinking about this lmao but to answer your question: yes. yes, he has.

it happened when he was young, sometime after he left home and at one point he ended up somewhere (*cough*batuu*cough*) to just… lay low for a while before he went on planet-hopping again. that’s when he met her. see, they were both young and curious. eron’s never felt any sort of romantic feelings towards anyone before. he’s had crushes for sure, but mostly he just thought those people were Aesthetically PleasingTM, so this was a new experience for both of them. 

they got close and trusted each other as more than friends. they cared for each other and they did all the Things, as you might guess (tho he wouldn’t call what they had as a relationship because to him it feels like a Big step and Serious but the feelings were real. they were mutual), but his fear of abandonment clouded everything. it terrified him. being alone has always been his reality and letting someone in had shattered it, so to speak, and he did the one thing he knew. 

he isolated himself from her. shut her out. left the planet to go on his way. ghosted her completely, and yeah, that’s a really dick move i’m not saying it isn’t lmao!! heartbreaks are messy and this is one of the many things he regretted in life. it just made the walls around him thicker and harder to break down. so he acts cold towards people who try to so much as drill a hole in that wall. sometimes he’s an asshole just so people would leave him alone. he doesn’t want to go through it again or fall into the state of wondering what he could’ve done. 

he hates all the ‘what ifs’ but can’t help stop thinking about them either. deep, deep down he years for the comfort and safety a partner could give but his rationality knows neither of those are for him and they wouldn’t last.

Aletra in Fate Core

D&D 5E notes: This is a write up mainly because, whether she is still around or not, the Party is going to soon come into possession of her notes, so I wanted some personality traits and experiences written up for her. So, while I did come up with a lot of details for her, it doesn’t mean she’s actually alive, only that I felt like fleshing her out. I plan to do a similar pass on the actor from the Barbarian’s home, too, and the group already knows what happened to her. If she were to turn out to be alive, and rescued, she’s around a 4th level Inquisitive Rogue with some ritual magic (she had a notebook of “procedures”, or spells, useful in her pursuits, which will come into the party’s possession with her other notes).

Aletra High Concept: Adventuring Researcher Trouble: Too Curious for her Own Good

Phase Trio: First Adventure Aletra is a planar human and a member of the Society of Sensation since her teenage years, if she is in fact still alive. She was born and raised in Sigil, but she always had a bit of wanderlust, and has visited several Primes, hiding her true nature so that she could observe without interfering. Aspect: Well Traveled

Encounter 1 She has more recently been looking into various ancestries and creatures that may or may not be welcome within the Sensates, with recommendation to the Factol and any other factions that might be interested. This has not endeared her to the ones she has recommended be disallowed into the Factions, and her work has been used as a reason to keep them out of Sigil, too. She tries very hard to be entirely objective, to keep her own biases from affecting these decisions, basing her recommendations on threats and potential destabilization. The Lady certainly doesn’t approve of too much chaos and would act to remove it. No one wants that. Aspect: Ears of Sigil

Encounter 2 Her last research was done into the doppelgangers, several of which had found Sigil and had asked for entry into the Society. She recommended against them, though she also indicated that perhaps individuals might be allowed if they were different enough. Yes, this smacks of “one of the good ones”, made worse because she doesn’t think there are any. Her tone became suddenly very different shortly after that, and then she disappeared. After the Peak of Portals, it is assumed that she was briefly replaced by a doppelganger to try to get them allowed into the Sensates, which after the attack no longer seems to be likely. Her whereabouts remain unknown, and it is assumed she was murdered by the attackers and her body hidden, but it is possible that they kept her alive to use their mind reading powers to get information out of or some other reason. Aspect: Depends on if she is alive and can be rescued, or rescue herself. “Dead” isn’t usually an appropriate Aspect, but since you’re on the Planes, maybe it would be in this case.

Widely Read (Lore): Her travels in the Planes have given her a very wide education in the lore of many places.

(Path To The Grey - Part IV)

I know I start this at IV, but after thinking about it & going back to my last Grey Jedi post to update it, this is pt.4. Quick note, I know Lightfoil blades dont look that, but I wanted to give those blades a slight difference to Lightsaber blades. And yeah, Lightfoils are a thing. Basically Lightsabers for non-force sensitives.

After Xan left Master Elden, left the Jedi ways, he joins the Sith under Darth Quin, who he & Elden a run-in with before, but nothing hostile. Xan wants to learn the Sith's side of the conflict, and only knowledge was what he was after. Before leaving the planet, Quin gave him advice on using Force Lightning in a safe way while he's untrained in the Sith's ways, if there came a time to use it again, intentional or not.

Quin isnt a usual Sith. With his approach, Xan's initiation to the Sith wasnt the same. The Sith have various training methods, but his didnt involve anger & hate. For instance, he is already willing to kill, after going after the raiders that killed his parents & terrorized for years, but never gave in to revenge. So the sacrifice Sith usually go through(even Dooku went through that. Despite his Jedi approach to controlling the dark side of the Force), Xan didnt need.

Which also meant that the usual way of getting a Red Kyber Crystal, wasnt an option. But he still had to bleed a kyber crystal(focus dark feelings into it).

He goes to a planet The Force led him to, with a Lightfoil for any threats. There he met Jedi Grand Master Aletra, in an old Jedi temple. Unlike Elden, Aletra is a full-on Jedi, one that was around before Order 66(or so it seemed). Aletra knew right away that Xan wasnt a Jedi. Xan didnt want to fight, but Aletra forced herself into his mind, saw everything, and Xan barely sensed something dark, something that he was taught Sith were supposed to be.

Xan defends himself. Explains that he's going a different path, but Aletra says there has always been only two, Light & Dark, that there is no other path, and that all Sith are to be eliminated. Xan noticed something off about her lightsaber. He later tries to take a glimpse into her mind, and all he could see was an ancient era.

He also sensed that despite her malice, she follows the Jedi ways through & through. He's justifiably frustrated that people like Aletra, are what the Jedi, the peacekeepers of the galaxy, are. He still didnt want to kill, but knew someone like her cant be left to roam the galaxy in her current state, so he intended to just cut her hands.

After a precise strike on her left arm, a mark is revealed. A numeral for 10. Aletra starts using other sabers. She says through all of her years, she never met a force sensitive like Xan. She revealed that she is from the era of the High Republic(sabers in that era had crossguards like Kylo's, but stable ones), and she prolongs her lift with a twisted version of immortality.

At first she used The Force to take strong force sensitive bodies once every 80, 90 or 100 years. Later on she used cloning, trained a clone since their youth, then take their bodies, and repeat. So her knowledge in The Force is vast. She once learned the Sith's ways, but came back to the Light, and remained loyal to it.

Xan asked what the 10 means. Aletra answered, "That is how many lifetimes I have lived", which is 1000 years total. And the other sabers used to belong to her students.

Aletra had Xan disarmed & in a force grip. She mentioned that after dealing with him, she'll kill Elden for letting him go. That's when Xan had enough, angry at a true Jedi's very nature, broke free, sliced her right hand, slashed her right eye, leaving her blind, then in an instant, used a short burst of force lightning at close range, through her heart.

Once Quin & Viera got to him at sunrise, Xan buried Aletra in a cairn grave(she certainly didn't deserve the traditional Jedi Funeral). He has that kyber crystal in-hand, slightly cracked, bled it from purple to red, and his left eye became a Sith eye.

Quin didnt sense Aletra, didnt know a Jedi was on the planet, and one having a single Sith eye is new to him. He asks Xan what does he feel. Not anger & hate, only realization. He knows what he did, despite her actions, she was still a Jedi, he'll never forget that kill & the eye will always be a reminder that if he ever kills in anger & hate again, he'll lose himself forever.

Quin asked if there was anything else he sensed? Xan answered no. Later on, he sees Aletra in his mind. Even she doesnt know how that happened, or how long it will even last. She's only curious of Xan's path, after seeing that he hasnt lost himself to darkside.

The party has discovered that the research team of various people touched by the great conspiracy have been kidnapped, and were possibly replaced for a time by shapeshifters.

It has been brought to my attention that there have been applications from the entities known in the Primes as “doppelgangers”, shape-shifters and low-level telepaths*.They might seem to be natural seekers of sensation and experience. They can take on the form and even the personality traits and knowledge of a subject, living as them at will.

If one of them were to turn this ability to the goal of “walking a mile in anothers shoes”, it would, indeed, be a welcome addition to our ranks**. Unfortunately, as far as I have been able to find, they, as a species, seem to only wish to use their powers for completely self-serving ends. I do not wish to judge an entire people in this way, but there are some, such as the mind flayers (see footnotes) or the Eye Tyrants, that seem resistant to this generosity. I have found, in extensive study, no story of these entities that do not have them committing murder and mayhem for their own purposes.

And ending the life of the impersonated ends their own experience, anathema to our Faction.

Is it possible that some hide more peacefully among others? Or, perhaps, that the stories I have been able to find have been, themselves, coloured by fear and bigotry? I cannot discount this entirely, of course, but I assure you that I was quite thorough. I believe I have sufficiently accounted for this possibility, and recommend rejecting such applications unless and until evidence of such outliers is found.

*Note: These creatures do not have most of the powers that some would refer to as “psionics”, making them considerably less dangerous than the Illithids and similar abominations. However, their mind-reading does make them quite dangerous in combination with their shapeshifting.

**Note: Not to mention any special assignments they might be well-suited to accomplish for our gracious Factol.

Addendum: I regret to inform you that my researches are in error. I believe that the applications under question should be approved at the earliest opportunity.

End note: The researcher Aletra disappeared shortly after sending the addendum and has not been experienced since. Applications by admitted doppelgangers are on indefinite hold by order of Factol Erin Montgomery.

Range Rover Evoque evolui sem fazer alarde

Com as devidas ressalvas, a segunda geração do Land Rover Range Rover Evoque sofre do mesmo mal que assolou o EcoSport quando o Ford mudou. O que os olhos podem ver mudou menos que as partes técnicas e mecânicas.

O novo Evoque chega ao País importado da Inglaterra por R$ 322.300. Inicialmente, apenas na versão P300 HSE R-Dynamic com o chamado Pacote Brasil. O SUV foi completamente renovado. Da geração anterior sobraram apenas as dobradiças das portas, de acordo com informações da Land Rover.

Em relação ao preço, o novo Evoque está posicionado acima da média da categoria. Os BMW X1 e X2 nas versões de topo, por exemplo, saem a R$ 232.950 e 246.950, respectivamente.

O Volvo XC40 R-Design é tabelado a R$ 227.950. E o Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 Sport custa R$ 246.900. Na mesma faixa do Evoque estão as versões esportivas do X2 (M35i) e do GLA (AMG 45). Os preços desses modelos são de R$ 313.950 e R$ 379.950, respectivamente.

A Land Rover promete trazer também a versão P250, mais barata que a P300 HSE R-Dynamic. Essa opção terá o mesmo motor 2.0 flexível com turbo que gera 240 cv e equipava a primeira geração do Evoque. Ainda assim o preço deverá ficar acima da média dos SUVs de luxo vendidos no Brasil.

No visual, o novo Evoque manteve as linhas gerais da carroceria que fizeram sucesso e inspiraram os outros SUVs da marca, como o Velar. Entre as novidades estão os faróis com atualizações no desenho e nas assinaturas de LEDs. Atrás, as lanternas mantiveram as linhas gerais, mas ficaram mais estreitas e requintadas.

O volante também é novo e ganhou comandos multifuncionais sensíveis ao toque. Para alterar o volume do som, por exemplo, basta apertar o sinal de “+” ou “-” ou deslizar o dedo no sentido de um para o outro.

Como na primeira geração do SUV, o interior é todo revestido de couro. Esse material cobre inclusive o painel e tem textura agradável ao toque. Na prática, a marca manteve o bom padrão de qualidade do acabamento do modelo da primeira geração.

De série há itens como faróis de LEDs, alerta de ponto cego e vários sistemas ativados por meio de comandos de voz. Seis air bags, controles de tração e estabilidade, teto solar panorâmico, ar-condicionado com duas zonas e freio de estacionamento com acionamento elétrico também vêm de fábrica. Assim como câmera 360º, controles de velocidade adaptativo e de partida e descida de rampas.

O pacote Brasil adiciona detalhes pretos na carroceria. Como na inscrição do nome “Range Rover” no capô e na tampa do porta-malas, além das entradas de ar nas laterais.

O Ground View associa a câmera na parte inferior do para-choque dianteiro com as duas localizadas abaixo dos espelhos externos. O conjunto forma uma imagem única da parte inferior da dianteira do Evoque, como se o capô fosse transparente.

Essa função só pode ser ativada com o SUV rodando a até 35 km/h. Portanto, é ideal para manobras, como as de estacionamento, e para evitar obstáculos no fora-de-estrada.

O novo Evoque manteve o sistema Terrain Response. Por meio dele é possível alterar os ajustes da tração integral conforme o tipo de piso. Além do modo automático, que faz tudo sozinho, há opções para asfalto, areia, grama, cascalho e neve, e lama e buracos.

Nova plataforma

O Evoque utiliza uma plataforma, batizada de PTA. Segundo informações da Land Rover, essa evolução permitiu aumentar em 13% a rigidez estrutural do SUV. Além disso, a distância entre os eixos cresceu em 21 mm e o espaço no porta-malas foi ampliado de 575 litros para 591 l.

Ao longo do test drive de cerca de 450 km, o novo Evoque provou que manteve as virtudes da primeira geração, como a boa estabilidade e o conforto de sobra. A suspensão independente nas duas rodas, com sistema multi-link na traseira, foi mantida.

No asfalto, o conjunto garante conforto exemplar e nas curvas, mantém a carroceria sempre firme. No fora de estrada, o novo Evoque também entrega boa dose de conforto. A capacidade para transpor áreas alagados aumentou de 50 cm para 60 cm, segundo dados da marca.

É fácil encontrar a posição ideal ao volante e ergonomia agrada. Já os bancos poderiam ser melhores. Há pouco apoio para as pernas de quem tem mais de 1,80 m de altura. O assento, além de curto, é estreito. Atrás, o espaço também é reduzido. Apenas dois adultos viajam bem acomodados.

Novo motor para o Evoque

O motor 2.0 turbo do Evoque também é novo. Da família Ingenium, o quatro-cilindros gera 300 cv de potência e 40,8 mkgf de torque. O câmbio automático de nove velocidades foi mantido.

Outro destaque é o sistema híbrido leve de 48V. Isso significa que o alternador e o motor de partida foram substituídos por um um único motor elétrico. Isso permite reduzir o consumo de gasolina, uma vez que o sistema não “rouba” energia do 2.0 turbo para mover polias e correias, por exemplo.

Esse conjunto dá agilidade ao Evoque e garante boas respostas aos comandos do acelerador. O câmbio faz trocas rápidas e sem trancos. Há aletras atrás do volante para passagens manuais de marcha.

O senão é que o sistema não aceita o comando do motorista se o modo “D”, de Drive, estiver selecionado. Só dá para “cambiar” manualmente com o câmbio na posição “S”, de Sport.

Aliás, nesta segunda geração do Evoque a Land Rover adotou alavanca convencional de câmbio. No modelo da primeira geração, um dos itens que chamava a atenção era o seletor giratório para trocas de marcha posicionado no console central.
