Superpower Prompt:
Choose one normal trait (strength, endurance, sight, hearing, singing, math, just anything a standard human can DO).
You are now connected with everyone in the USA who shares your first name.
Your power in the trait you chose becomes a small point stronger for each person with that name.
I now have over 1,500,000 points of endurance. I can run around the whole dang world and swim the ocean!!! Take that, unique baby names!!! 8D
(I even found a handy site that can calculate this number for you! Also, DO NOT SHARE YOUR NAME FOR THIS GAME! Just the closest rounded number! Internet safety is important!!!)

Current thoughts:
The Mindstone canonically being a chunk of the Worldspire is so funny because it implies that either
A) the Worldspire was built and everyone was like “Okay let’s give the knights a chunk of this thing because you never know when you’ll need a chunk of the magic rock that connects everyone in the world lol”
Or
B) some knight in the past just took a chunk of the Worldspire and NOBODY questioned it
And either way that’s hilarious

Any theories for Worldspire?
Oh man, I'm not really sure. In vs the Knights of Crystallia Alcatraz mentioned living through the entire world losing gravity, so I'm expecting that. Dark talent also mentioned something big happening, but more specifically with the Worldspire.
But with Branderson books I've learned to be ready for anything and everything. I know that he'll take all of my expectations, flip them around a few times, and then throw them back in my face.
I'd love to hear any other ideas if anyone has them

“Any story, no matter how good, will sound really, really dumb when you shorten it to a few sentences.”—Page 107
By the power of eating metal, a group of thieves try to kill god. Exchanging souls by breathing with a hint of rom com. Zombies. Sandbenders get genocided. A planet full of fucking dementors. Stormlight Archive is too complicated to sum up in one sentence.

Books I Read in 2020
I don't know if anyone's interested, but inspired by other blogs sharing their reading achievements from 2020, I decided to pick up the trend and tell you about mine. The books with only their backs visible hold the place of books I borrowed this year and no longer have at home.

Adam Silvera: They Both Die at the End
Neil Gaiman: Neverwhere
Roald Dahl: James and the Giant Peach (for a English project)

Audrey Niffenegger: The Time Traveler's Wife - an all-time-favourite and book 1 of the favourites of 2020, it broke my heart and i cried my eyes out and i don't think i'll ever recover; the movie also made me cry even though the book is a hundred times better
Ocean Vuong: On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous - 5th place of my favs, i fell in love with the writing and i'm planning on getting poetry books by the author
John Green: Looking for Alaska
Franz Kafka: Die Verwandlung (German version of Metamorphosis, read it for German class)

Philip Pullman: The Amber Spyglass (HDM book 3) - i was so glad when i found out there are sequels to the trilogy, i thought this was the end

The Bands of Mourning are the mythical metal minds owned by the Lord Ruler, said to grant anyone who wears them the powers that the Lord Ruler had at his command. Hardly anyone thinks they really exist. A kandra researcher has returned to Elendel with images that seem to depict the Bands, as well as writings in a language that no one can read. Waxillium Ladrian is recruited to travel south to the city of New Seran to investigate. And onto Alcatraz vs the Knights of Crystallia.
Tumblr media
A beautiful summary of the first two books
It's nice to know Physics is Librarian invented bullshit. I dropped that class
Breaking gravity sounds pretty cool
Yay more Smedrys. Wonder what their weird ass Talents are
Tumblr media
Yeah that seems weird enough to be a Talent
C'mon Alcatraz a Truthfinder's Lens sounds super cool
Tumblr media
I mean I would totally take advantage of making Oculators look ridiculous. It's not like they can't wear the lenses.
Defecting Librarians? This got interesting.
Tumblr media
I mean ... that's not inaccurate
So Folsom and Himalaya are a thing right?
Idk maybe he's a good man. But I'm currently not a huge fan of Attica
Tumblr media
See the problem with these books is I can't tell how serious vs exaggerated this summary actually is
Tumblr media
Please tell me that actually happens in Book 5, and it's not another lie
Tumblr media
😂 I love these books
Ugh I hate beetles
Gotta love the Royal-Archives-Not-a-Library
Tumblr media
See lines like these worry me for the future
Tumblr media
I'll be honest the fact Smedrys can marry people was more useful than I initially thought
How deeply are glass and Oculators and Smedry Talents connected?
I'll take a wild guess and say there's a traitor in Nalhalla
Kick his ass Bastille
Giving everyone Talents seems like it could go horribly wrong
Tumblr media
Yeah everything will definitely go wrong if Attica succeeds
Lots of loose ends and unanswered questions. Why do I get the feeling everything's going to go to shit in the next book? Also wtf is up with the glass? How much glass could a Smedry power if they wanted to? And why is Alcatraz calling himself a murderer?

Summary:
The Stormlight Archive saga continues in Rhythm of War, the eagerly awaited sequel to Brandon Sanderson's #1 New York Times bestselling Oathbringer, from an epic fantasy writer at the top of his game.
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move.
Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals, and potentially reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the heart of their strength.
At the same time that Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with his changing role within the Knights Radiant, his Windrunners face their own problem: As more and more deadly enemy Fused awaken to wage war, no more honorspren are willing to bond with humans to increase the number of Radiants. Adolin and Shallan must lead the coalition’s envoy to the honorspren stronghold of Lasting Integrity and either convince the spren to join the cause against the evil god Odium, or personally face the storm of failure.

This Stormlight Archive discounted ebundle includes: The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, Oathbringer The #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson!
The Stormlight Archive is the wildly imaginative epic fantasy from New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson: welcome to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.
It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain. Men trade kingdoms for Shardblades. Wars were fought for them, and won by them, but in the war against the Parshendi, the ancient weapons and armor may not be enough.
Speak again the ancient oaths:
Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before Destination.
and return to men the Shards they once bore. The Knights Radiant must stand again.
