Base Yandere Lucifer Morningstar Headcanons: He Will Move Heaven and Hell
[Hello, My Sexy Muffins! I am back with another chapter! This one, the base headcanons, and traits of Yandere Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel! So wish me luck, anyway I hope you enjoy this!]
(Disclaimer: Lucifer Morningstar From Hazbin Hotel is not yandere in canon! This is just for fun and NOT to be taken seriously at all! Simping for fictional characters and yanderes is fine! Just do not be illegal or gross about it (You know who you are). Also, remember to separate fiction from reality and headcanon from canon! Yanderes are not ideal partners to have in real life.)
-Base Yandere Headcanons With Lucifer Morningstar From Hazbin Hotel-
.Lucifer has focused it looks like his last seven-ish years on not being a very active king of hell.
.Focusing on building his ducks and burying his depression.
.He does not have a LOT of people he sees on a day-to-day basis.
.Except for you, the person who is on his staff. It is your job to make sure that the king is taken care of.
.So you were more or less a babysitter and assistant to the king of hell.
.He was fond of you, okay that was a lie, he is right down smitten and obsessed with you.
.You are his ray of sunshine in the darkness of hell and he adores you.
.You have been with him for the last several years since his wife had gone missing.
.He had a strained relationship with his daughter and often talks to you about her.
.Telling you all the times he had with her. He just wants you to be part of his and his daughter's life.
.He of course still loves Lilith, but he has a love for you, where he NEEDS You.
.He often makes you ducks, he has given you so many duck-related things as gifts.
.He loves to spoil you, and a lot of time, it is something that is shaped like a duck or is duck themed, or is covered in ducks.
.He also loves to make your caramel apples as a treat.
.He will give you the best, because what is better than pure angelic power, especially from the man who so happens to love you the MOST?
.He does not want to share you and gets extremely guarded and protective of you when he deems a rival is around to threaten his claim to you.
.He is a lovable dork, and with his yandere side, this makes him also a TOTAL Puppy dog yandere.
.The slightest biggest love and affection and or attention that you show him he just gobbles up. He is very much "MY DARLING WANTS TO BE WITH ME!!!!! TAKE THAT DEPRESSION"
.He is also very much a physical touch kind fo romance, as Viv has confirmed.
.He loves to show his affection to you, with physical touch.
.Kissing up your arm, holding you in his arms, anything and everything. Even as things as simple as a graze of the hand.
.He loves to sing for you, writing romantic songs.
.But man oh man, can he be petty when it comes to rivals.
.Such as if Alastor were to say you and him were close.
.Who the fuck did that sinner think he was!
.He will have a constant dislike for anyone who tries to say they are something with you.
.He deals with rivals in two main ways. The first way, Being super fucking petty fr fr.
.Or by legit summoning hellfire which can burn them away and actually kill them.
.He does not play around when he gets to the point.
And if the person does hurt you, he will use the hell fire on that soul to kill them.
.He will show no mercy.
.You are the apple of his eye, his sweet love, a reason for him to stay in hell even if he was allowed back to heaven he would never go back because he adores you.
.He was once a dreamer, but he had lost those dreams until he found you, you gave him hope and the ability to dream again.
.To strive to be a better father, a better husband, and a better king.
.He would share you with Lilith 1000 percent. BUT ONLY LILITH
.He also will try and introduce you to Charlie as you will one day be her future step-parent.
.He is very nervous about this that is for sure.
.When he does confess to you he is beyond nervous and awkward.
.Because he is worried if it will go right or not.
.If you accept his feelings he takes you in his arms and flies into the air spinning around and kissing you.
.If you turn him down he feels his heart shatter, but he will ask if you are two are still good, but he is not giving up.
.He will try his best to "Mend" things and then slowly court you, so the next time he confesses to you, you say yes.
.He does this until he gets a yes.
.He is determined, and also a very protective yandere as well.
.He will face heaven to keep you by his side, so if somehow you got redeemed he would storm heaven and bring you back.
.He is not losing you, you belong to him and will be his future spouse, future co-parent, and future co-ruler.
.He will move heaven and hell for you, that is a fact!
[YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS another chapter is done! I hope you all enjoyed this and stay sexy, all of my sexy muffins!]

Morally, gray characters are those with complex motivations or goals that aren't simply right or wrong. One of my favorite morally gray characters in fiction is Jason Todd from DC. The second Robin that Batman failed to save, who ended up dying at the hands of the Joker and resurrected by Ra's Al Ghul.
Tumblr media
Given a second chance at life, he comes to a revelation that villains should NOT be left alive. Villains, especially the Joker, have caused the suffering of thousands of people, as said by Jason Todd in Under The Red Hood.
Tumblr media
Leaving villains alive will risk more innocent lives and graveyards to be filled when it easily could have been prevented.
But there is an opposite argument that does have merit to it. In DC, there is a crook turned superhero named Plastic Man who, after multiple chances, turned his life around for the better.
At the end of the day, Jason is ending a human life. A life with the potential to convert and change for the better. They're capable of changing, but it's a risky game to play. This is what makes Jason Todd a morally gray character. You understand his motivations, and depending on who you are, you agree or disagree with his actions. There is no easy answer for a topic like this.
So, what about Alastor? Well, he's just not a good person at all. Does he do some good things? Yeah, but he mostly does them in exchange, which will benefit him. He doesn't do anything out of the kindness of his heart (if he even has one), nor does he do stuff, which he believes is right.
So, as always, this blog will be separated into two sections listing the reasons why I don't believe Alastor is morally gray, starting off with status.
Alastor is an Overlord who makes contracts with other demons to get them to submit their souls. Alastor has many souls in his possession, including Husk, and he holds all of them in for power. Immediately, this is not what a morally gray character is. I have yet to see a morally gray character who enslaves other people just to further their goals because that's just what an evil person would do.
And it's not like Alastor had no choice or did it for the greater good or did it to simply defend himself. He ambushed Overlords, took their souls, and broadcasted their fucking screams across Hell to show the denizens of Hell that he means business. He wants people to be afraid of him or respect him for his power.
youtube
Secondly, there's just him as a person. He genuinely sucks. Everything he does, he usually does it for himself or because he's told to by a higher power. He helps Charlie just so he could watch the Sinners fail for laughs. He helps Vaggie with the commercial so he wouldn't have to make one ever again. He makes a deal with Charlie in exchange for a favor he'll likely use to his advantage in the future. All of these "kind" actions are usually in exchange for something else, he doesn't do anything out of the kindness of his heart just to further his own agenda.
Tumblr media
And if you really think about it, Alastor contributed very little to the hotel despite making a deal with Charlie that he would help her. They only got one new patron, which was Sir Pentious, and it stayed that way for 6 months. Apparently, Charlie, Vaggie, and Alastor suck at their job if they can't bring any new members lmao. And no, just because a villain did something nice for once doesn't make them morally gray.
Thanos helped an old lady cross the street just so he could ruin some woman's life, that definitely doesn't make him morally gray.
Tumblr media
Morally, gray characters are complicated, and that's what makes them interesting. Alastor isn't complicated. He's just a power-hungry psycho who eats people and wants to have fun. He's the perfect example of simplicity.
Just because Alastor will potentially be a morally gray character or complicated character in the future doesn't mean he is one now. And I say potentially because the writers of Hazbin and Helluva like to set things up with underwhelming payoffs. But that's a future blog for a different day.
In conclusion, Alastor is not a good person. He's a bad guy, and just because he's the protagonist doesn't make him any less evil or any more good. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a good one. ❤️‍🔥

A new guest?!
(Let me know that you think, I like it a lot. Should I follow the show?)
~~~prologue~~~
Charlie; the princess of hell is pacing around the main lobby, mumbling to herself as she bits down on her nail.
“Oh, why isn’t anyone coming to the hotel!” She whines, digging her fingers through her hair in frustration.
“Well, Amore, it’s been two days since I make the account.” A voice replies to Charlie, making her turn to the lounge area where there sitting on the couch was her newly employed staff; the receptionist.
She’s focused on a card game she’s playing with The Radio Demon, Alastor. “I did tell you it was a waste of time.”
“You don’t know that, maybe someone will show up…eventually.”
“Mhm, whatever makes your heart sore, princess.”
Vaggie cuts into the conversation, placing her hand on her girlfriend’s shoulder for comfort. “We can’t give up. Let’s just wait it out today then maybe tomorrow we can go out there and find some new guest.”
“You’ve got to be shitting my balls, again?!” The receptionist curses at another lost as Alastor chuckles with a smug grin.
“Better luck next time, my dear! Now pay up.”
“Shit—give me a second,” She rushes behind the main desk and is heard shuffling around before cheering once she found what she was looking for and rushes back. She holds it out for Alastor.
Upon inspection, the overlord sees that it’s a little keychain of a small microphone. He sighs with an amusing glare. “Seriously?”
“It’s my best one, don’t be picky.”
Charlie and Vaggie watches this unfold with confusion and maybe amusement before there was a knock on the door making Charlie look away and walk over to see who it is.
Once opening the doors she sees you giving a shy wave. “Hi..um, I saw online that you’re helping people?”
“Yes! You heard right, come on in!” Charlie smiles brightly and pulls you along. “Guys, guys, guys! We have a new guest!”
“Really?”
Charlie squeals and nods as she presents you as confetti exploding everywhere, to which, you simply dust off. “Come on, come on, check them in.” The princess usheres the receptionist with a smile, gently pushing her behind the desk.
The receptionist gives her a sweet smile then turns to you as she sits and types on a computer. “Okay, name—“
“No, no, from the top, like we practiced.” Charlie cuts in, gently watching from the sidelines.
You raised an eyebrow as you look around to see Alastor still inspecting the keychain.
Vaggie standing next to a very excited Charlie, her hands in her hips.
Husk over at the bar cleaning bottles.
And a pink blur? It’s going way too fast for you to see what the hell is zooming around like a cat at 3 AM.
“Okay, okay, princess.” The receptionist sighs, bringing you back from your observations. “Welcome to The Hazbin Hotel, where every sinner can be a winner, name, please?” She recites dryly.
“Oh..(Y/n).”
“Hm, and your sins?”
“My—my what, sorry?”
“Your sins, pookie. To see where we need to fix.” She smiles, her chin resting in her palm.
“Oh, yeah, give me one sec,” You reach in your pocket and take a piece of paper and flips it open, let it flip to a long, long, very long list. “Should I list them?”
“No need, I saw parental issues and sexual attraction to fictional characters and understand completely, here’s your key~” She clicks enter and throws you a pair of keys to which you fumble a bit to catch but managed somehow.
“Enjoy your stay~”
main blog: @wormworker || she/her/sí/aici
💋
This machine supports Trans people and sex workers.
💋
i post about sexey things a lot (in text, labelled at the top as NSFW) but just pointing that out in case anyone's not down with that. i am hypersexual and venting about it through fictional characters helps me cope with it.
💋
tags (not linked but maybe one day lol) :
#hazbin funnies = memes, goofs, shitposts, etc
#ace deer noises = posts specifically about Alastor being aspec (just be aware that we all don't portray Alastor being aspec the same way and that's fine! i'm aspec and i don't expect people to know exactly what that means for me, and we all have different experiences that we wish were represented better in fiction)
#hazbin hotel x music = playlists, headcanons inspired by songs, etc
#angelhusk = angel+husk ship tag
#radiostatic = alastor+vox
#spiders in my jambalaya = any posts about angel and alastor being friends because blorbo and all that
usually if a character has no last name / second name / etc., i'll use "hazbin" as their last name, i.e. :
#alastor hazbin
💋
ongoing/permanent headcanons?? or whatever they're called lol:
-Angel is a Trans man (not interested in HRT or gender-affirming surgery, he's perfectly happy with his body -- sans his spider feet lol).
-Alastor had a daughter named Zuri (unplanned, non-consensual for him) when he was alive, who died before she was a year old.
-Angel is completely blind in his left eye, and it has esotropia (his pupil stays fixed to the inner corner of his eye).
-Angel's mother was deaf, Angel is fluent in American Sign Language.
-Alastor and Angel are best friends.
-Fizzarolli is transmasc (was socialized as a girl) but is genderfluid and also tends to identify as non-binary.
-Fizz and Oz start trying to have a baby (with Fizz being the carrier) after Fizz quits Mammon -- they'd been talking about it for a long time but Fizz said that his job with Mammon was too physically and mentally demanding to leave any room for what would undeniably be a physically and mentally demanding process of another kind. Because of the internal damage to Fizz's body from all the smoke inhalation from the fire at age 15, the only chance he has at getting pregnant is with very aggressive fertility treatments. -- It's not going well.
Apple Pie
Hazbin Hotel Fic
Very much a vent/ projection of my own issues lol, I related to Charlie a little too hard
there will be comfort at the end, I don't want to be too mean to this fictional character
CW: trauma and abandonment issues
Summary: Charlie is alone for the first time in a while, and she sits with her thoughts
"I'll see you tomorrow, Vaggie, I love you!"
Charlie felt her smile start to fade as she watched her girlfriend leave. She was heading back to Carmilla's for an overnight training session, meaning Charlie would be alone for the night. She gripped the handle of the door, watching Vaggie leave until she was no longer visible. Her chest felt tight, and she felt she could hardly breathe, watching her partner leave her.
She took a breath, and closed her eyes, trying to calm the fuck down.
Husk and Angel were out, Alastor was God-knows-where, and Niffty went out with Cherri (after Angel made her promise to watch over the maid.)
The only person left was Lucifer, but Charlie hardly counted him. He may have been there, but he wasn't there. He was getting better, sure, but Charlie found it hard to just magically unwork and forgive the years of abandonment she'd felt growing up.
She sighed and shut the door, turning on her heel to head to the kitchen. She rummaged through the fridge looking for anything to distract herself from her thoughts. She didn't know why she was so deep in her emotions about her father that night, he hadn't even come out of his room- oh. That's why.
Growing up, Charlie had always felt abandoned by her father, even though she knew he was just in the other room. Even though he was physically close, he had always been emotionally distant. And to her, that felt like abandonment.
She sighed and shut the fridge, having gotten a slice of apple pie. She never liked to talk about her issues to other people, thinking they weren't 'bad enough' to be considered trauma. She thought she was overreacting, since her father had physically been there in the same building.
Charlie turned to leave the kitchen and let out a shriek as she saw Husk standing there, nearly dropping her plate. "Oh fuck-... Husk," she let out a nervous laugh, "How long- When did you get back, I thought you and Angel were having a date night."
The bartender studied her face for a moment before folding his wings in to squeeze past her to get to the fridge. "Angel drank himself stupid, so I brought him back and put him to bed." He grabbed a drink from the fridge, cracking it open. "You need to talk."
Charlie sighed. "No, I'm alright, Husk, but thanks for showing concern-"
"I wasn't asking. I can tell that you need to." He took a drink, looking at her.
The princess let out a big sigh and sat down at the table. "It's my dad- Or well... I guess I should say it's me? He never.. actually did anything wrong, but I still can't help but hold so much resentment toward him..."
Husk sat down across from her and set his drink to the side. He needed to be sober for this conversation. "Go on."
She looked up at him before her gaze returned to her plate. "Ever since I was a little girl, I've always felt abandoned by him..? But he was always in the other room, so he didn't.. really abandon me. But I have very few memories of ever doing anything with him. I was always with my mom.... I mean she literally abandoned me later, but that's a parental issue for a different day." She huffed out a small laugh.
Charlie moved her plate aside and laid her head down on the table. "But he never did anything wrong so I feel like I'm not allowed to feel this way about him. Like im not allowed to have abandonment issues. He never yelled at me, cursed at me, never hit me.. He just stayed in his room and ignored me..."
Husk nodded, listening to her, giving her his full attention.
She continued quietly, "I've never told anyone this but.. Sometimes.. I wish he actually had done something.. So I'd have a valid reason to feel like this... But that's just.. That feels like attention seeking."
Husk sighed and placed a hand on her head. "Charlie.. Your feelings already are valid. Wishing for worse trauma is actually a sign of trauma. You're not looking for attention or sympathy, you're looking for validation. Right? You don't feel like you're allowed to be upset over this.. But you are. In a way, he did abandon you. It doesn't matter that he was just down the hall, he still wasn't there with you, was he?"
She shook her head, looking up at him. "No.. He was always in his room working on his ducks.. And sometimes when I'd try to be the one to reach out and make a connection, he'd tell me he was busy. But I still wanted to be with him, so a lot of time I just sat on the floor quietly while he worked.. But he still felt so far away... But I know he loves me, and I know in a way he's trying his best.. So I feel like I can't really hate him or be mad at him.. I'm just... ugh, it's so... confusing."
The bartender nodded, listening. "Have you talked to him about this?" He asked.
"No.. I don't want to make him feel bad.. Besides, he thinks he's making progress by occasionally saying 'I love you,' in passing, I don't want to start anything... I just want him to be the one to reach out, I want him to be the one to start conversation.. My whole life, I've been the one taking that responsibility.. And I'm scared that if I stop then our relationship will fade... And I just got it back.."
Husk offered a smile. "I don't think it would. Do you want to know what I think, or do you just want me to listen?"
She sat up more. "I'd like to hear you out."
He nodded. "I think your father feels guilty for not having spent that time with you, but he doesn't know how to reach out. He barely parented a child, and now he doesn't know how to connect with his adult daughter. So he does what's familiar, and retreats to his room. I doubt he ever meant to hurt you, but Charlie," he took her hand, "That doesn't mean you weren't still hurt. Your pain is valid."
She looked back down at the table and nodded. That made sense. "If he doesn't know how to reach out.. That means I still have to be the one to make the connection, doesn't it... I'm just tired of being the one who puts in all the effort just to be ignored and brushed off."
Husk nodded again. He grabbed his drink and stood with a groan, his knees cracking as he did so. "Well.. Maybe you won't have to for long." He patted her back and left the kitchen.
"Wait, where are you-" She turned to face him, only to be met with her father entering the kitchen.
"Heeey, Char-Char! I made an apple pie yesterday, just thought I'd come down to-"
"Oh, shit, I took a slice, I'm sorry-"
He whipped around with a smile, "No no, I was gonna offer it to you anyway, I just uh.. I didn't know if it was any good or not. How is it?" He asked, sitting down across from her.
She hesitated, and took a bite. She looked back up at him, returning the smile.
"It's good."
important question. what is your moral alignment. im thinking chaotic neutral
If i were a character so nothing actually had consequences i would love to be lawful evil because HOLY SHIT THOSE ARE THE COOLEST CHARACTERS
Schlatt, Alastor, hell I’m pretty sure Megamind is considered lawful evil.
Having like a logical and resonable plan with a specific but strange and disagreeable moral code is just!!! So!!!! Interesting!!!! Genuinley this is my favorite alignment.
AT THE SAME TIME THOUGH CHAOTIC EVIL IS SOO FUN
Just do whatever the hell causes the most destruction EXCUSE ME i can IMAGINE my badass villain outfit
Pointy sunglasses, half buttoned Hawaiian shirt, trademark messy hair.... just a guy blowing shit up cause he thinks its fun. IDEAL.
THEN NEUTRAL EVIL
Its not interesting like lawful evil, its not fun like chaotic evil, it’s just *evil*. Raw, unfiltered, evil. Can you iMAGINE MY VILLIAN SONG!!!! The eviler the villain the better the songs sorry just true.
Oh fuck am i going to explain why I’m in love with every single alignment and then try to figure out which one is mine???? .... maybe
Ok I’m DEFINITELY not lawful neutral. I have a pretty simple moral code where I try to consider everyone’s wants and how different actions affect the people involved, and as a sorta “cheat sheet” I imagine “if everyone took this action, would the world still be okay”. And although this sorta does dictate a lot of what i do, it’s not essential to my character. It’s the character I am in real life because I want to be good, but not the character I am if I were a fictional exaggerated version of myself because it’s not an intrinsic part of my personality. But!! I do love this alignment because it sets up for GREAT internal conflict.
I mean its about how someone doesn’t have their own wants but rather follows a learned code. Or someone who once thought they only cared about themself learning that community is important and clinging to it because they WANT to be good, not because they think they ARE???? Beautiful shit
TRUE NEUTRAL
The real “i dont give a fuck” additiude is gorgeos. 10/10. Is this me??? I dont think so. I kinda like it??? Like just the sexy “might switch up sides I’m bored” additude is alluring, but the pure apathy is something I don’t posses. I’m super gay for this alignment though.
CHAOTIC NEUTRAL
I’m pretty sure you were right about this one- if i was a character, I would ABSOLUTLEY have this alignment. It THRIVES on the absence of morals. FREEDOM! CHAOS! Its all about f u n. No process or government. No drama. No cares. Everything is fluid, everything is a distraction, everything is an oppertunity. The constant energy. Lovely. and honestly, what is so great about this is that when excecuted well, these characters DONT exhaust all paths they can take. They dont run out of adventures to have. They dont stop getting new ideas. They never reach the limit of projects they can take on. It’s immortality, it’s all i want.
LAWFUL GOOD
A brilliant character is a lawful good who hates being lawful good. Someone who’s says that they’ll finally break a promise or tell a lie but can’t. Someone who is attracted to the carefree chaotic lifestyle. And yet, they do best with order. A journey of learning that lawful doesnt mean serious and that systems can be more of a powerhouse than anarchy, a leader who’s excellent about what they do, a steady hand to drive their story. love!!
NEUTRAL GOOD
This is probably me in real life. Someone who does what they think is best and stays in the moment. No specific loyalties or rules to follow, just on a personal adventure to do good. It’s so pure and simple. I like these characters (quackity is a neutral good and he is my favorite person so what can i say) a lot. I don’t know if I’m allowed to compliment them since its how i self identify though ahah
CHAOTIC GOOD
“I dont give a fuck” but ALSO good and kind???? Just like that???? Just effortlessly????? FUCK thats AMAZING and THE BEST ALIGNMENT holy SHIT i mean. “I’m going to do the right thing, but not YOUR right thing. I’m doing MY right thing”. So. Pretty. So strong. The true rebel, the true protagonist, the true showman who has the entire world watching. “Idk might solve world hunger I’m in a good mood”. Its so. Imperfect. Like their motives are so flimsy its AMAZINg. Maybe they saved the world for attention! Idk! I love them either way! They reveal their cure for cancer in a shitty google slideshow and hook up machines they designed to throw roses at them when theyre done! They catch one in their mouth! A hero of the story who is happy with themself and uses their trust in themself as the core of their strength and i just. Love these characters. (Not as much as lawful evil but second best for sure)
Oh ps the slideshow on Julia will be out today, sorry I’m a bit behind school has been cruel to me
The Last Life of Prince Alastor by Alexandra Bracken
(OFFICIALY POSTED ON WEBSITE HERE)
What evil can come from a choice made with a pure heart and the best of intentions?
If you know me, you know it's essentially impossible for me to talk about books without talking about The Darkest Minds. Ergo, it's impossible for me to talk about my favorite authors without bringing up Alexandra Bracken. From dystopian worlds to time travel troubles to middle-grade Halloween-ish adventures, I've never once walked away from a Bracken book without being absolutely and utterlygobsmacked. And, unsurprisingly, The Last Life of Prince Alastorwas no exception.
By the end of The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding(which you can read my full review of here!), we're left with endless questions - most of these pointing to the mysterious world that is the Downstairs. The Last Life of Prince Alastor follows Propser as he attempts to navigate a realm in which he was clearly not invited to, while also following Alastor as he tries to reclaim what he deems as his rightful throne. At this point, I feel like I sound like a broken record because I always seem to suggest that it's best to read an Alexandra Bracken novel blind. But, in my defense, I reallydo think that in doing so, you're setting yourself up for the best wild ride possible.
I'd made mistakes, I'd been misled, but I wasn't some helpless victim in this story.
Admittedly, and I think a majority of book lovers can agree, sequels have a way of being incredibly nerve-racking. Personally, my biggest fear with sequels are the dreaded recaps. Even though I'm pretty sure I have the worst memory of all mankind, I don't want to spend 50 or so pages being spoon fed what happened in the last book because it simply becomes repetitive or boring.LLOPAdoes remind us what happened in the last installment, but only in small side notes and not full chunks of a chapter. This may seem like a small thing to notice, but it already puts the book on my goodside. (That, and the fact that I get to revisit some of my favorite characters with my favorite author. I might just be a little bit biased here).
In the same vein, because we're falling into a whole new realm (we are quite literally falling through an open mirror),some substantial world building hasto be done. From the moment we're in the Downstairs with Prosper and Alastor, we're immediately introduced to the off-putting smell, the perpetually-dark sky, and how the land is laid out. We're right there with Prosper as Alastor explains the Downstairs to him and how their overall hierarchy works. And because of Prosper's completeinability to keep himself out of trouble, we meet Ogres, Fiends, and Ghouls along the way. The description to this new world feels natural, realistic, and instantly drew me in.
I am always right, Alastor said. There are only degrees of how correct I am.
I truly cannot stop thinking about how well Prosper was written as a character. There are countless complexities and realistic tendencies woven into him in this sequel that I can't get over it. Prosper goes through a constant internal pull when he's trying to decide between what's right and wrong, and it just felt so humane. Similarly, there were often two different Prospers because, at times, he felt like he needed to put on a brave face when other times all he really wanted was a little bit of help. Even though I'm now 22, I could relate to so many of the thoughts that Prosper had.
When I read books with the intentions of reviewing them, I take notes in my phone, and my favorite note taken for LLOPAwas definitely: "Honestly just talk about how much you love Alastor." As weird as it is to say that I missed reading in the voice of a parasitic malefactor, I reallydid. I missed his clever insults - some of my favorites from this book being "Gorbellied, crook-plated measle" and "Abominable, crusty thumb" - and his cunning schemes. I can't delve deep into the specifics of why I loved him so much in this book for fear of spoilers, but you've got to trust me on this one; his character development is unreal.
Alex aways somehow finds a way to introduce side characters that embellish the story and add to the main characters, not take away from them. We meet elves, shades, new changelings (friendly reminder that I still love Toad with my whole heart), and they each add a new level to the story. And with that, they add even more plot twists that will be sure to leave your jaw on the floor. Furthermore, Alexandra Bracken brings in her ability to discuss big problems readers of this genre might encounter in their own lives, but she stays on track with the plot; it doesn't feel forced whatsoever. There's one plot point with Nell that I really think every single reader can relate to; I know I can.
"You're a good friend, Prosper Redding."
"You're a better friend, Nell Bishop."
It's important for a story to be entertaining. It's fun to escape to a world that's not like your own, but it starts to get really impressive when an author can include elements of our world into a fictional one. Even in a world filled with monsters threatening to take over the human realm, we can still afford a lesson of how we should treat others even when they're different than us.
And again, without giving too much away, the plot is so intricately planned and executed. When you think your questions are close to being answered and the story is going to start wrapping up, yet another plot twist hits you in the face and pushes you forward. You're right there with Prosper as he looks for answers to his questions and tries to make his own connections. The twists will even keep you guessing until the very end.
When a castle is crumbling, you do not stop to find the crack that began it all, you try to hold all of the fracturing walls together in any manner you can, to the best of your ability.
The fantastical elements of this book are nothing short of amazing but, what really grounded this story for me, where the natural moments between Prosper and Nell. There were small conversations of reassurance and general friend banter that made them feel like real people. I could even see myself having these same chats with some of my own friends. Nell also even has an incredibly realistic experience with a Barbie Flower which genuinely had me thinking, "that's me! that's me!"
AH!I keep having to press the delete button on so manysections of this review because I don't want to spoil anything, but there is just so much I could talk about. This could probably easily turn into a 7 page, MLA formatted literary analysis. So please, please, please go pick it up so we can talk about THAT ENDING, and I can stop rambling about it here.
The Last Life of Prince Alastor officially comes out on February 5, so make sure you run out to your local bookstores or place a preorder!
The absolute BIGGEST thank you to NetGalley and Disney Hyperion for providing me with an arc to review!
Overall: 4.5 white foxes out of 5.
Want to talk about this book or see me review your favorite? Just let me know!
The Hogwarts houses are an outdated and terrible system that only continues to perpetrate prejudice and stereotypes, but for the sake of argument what is your opinion on Hogwarts? Would you want to go there? (I saw the houses ask and was immediately reminded of a debate that me and my friends had, sorry!)
Enjolras: I agree, both the Hogwarts houses and Hogwarts, in general, perpetuates negative ideals and breeds hatred and incompetence. Hogwarts allows for ineffective teachers and teaching methods, they divide students based on personality at a young age when their personalities are still changing, they allow abusive adults to teach children, they do nothing to stop the prejudicial beliefs spreading amongst the students and some of the teachers. Furthermore, those who are not pureblood or are considered “blood traitors” are bullied by their fellow students. Dumbledore did nothing to stop this nor did he even seem to care about anyone beyond Harry, and even then he did not help him. It does not provide for students living in abusive households. Segregation is prevalent. Racism. Overall, no I would not wish to attend Hogwarts. Sorting yourself into a house may be fun, but when it determines your life at such a young age and the houses are pit against each other, it’s hard to truly want to be a part of that.
Combeferre: As I’ve said previously, the Sorting system is rife with the same absolutist concepts that are rampant in most systems of classification (see the Zodiac, Myers-Briggs test, the Rorschach test) in that none of them allow for the full scope of nuance that characterizes humanity. For me, the Houses signify which traits you value and strive to emulate, as is the case with most fictional material (we are inevitably drawn to those characters we admire and wish to mimic) The Houses also, as you’ve pointed out, preserve and perpetuate stereotypes and prejudice which, for a school that preaches inter-House unity, is rather ironic.
To pick up on Enjolras’ point, there are numerous examples of abusive adults given positions of authority in the school, Snape being a prime example, Dolores Umbridge being another. To build on that foundation, we have Gilderoy Lockhart, who is clearly incompetent and yet, is not removed from his post. Alastor Moody, who is a) reportedly unstable from his years as an Auror, and b) only hired on his past credentials.
As for Dumbledore, he is professionally and personally negligent. He keeps Harry with his abusive relatives for years, despite a) knowing of the situation and b) professing to have Harry’s best interests at heart, and for what, some paltry “protection” that we actually know very little about. Furthermore, it is repeatedly said that Hogwarts is even safer than Gringotts and that Dumbledore is the only wizard that Voldemort has ever feared. I think that trumps some protection given by Lily’s love for Harry, as poetic as that may be. Dumbledore also repeatedly stores, or allows to be stored, dangerous items and creatures within Hogwarts, which is filled with children.
Now, as nice as it might be to visit Diagon Alley, buy books from Florish and Blott, and study Transfiguration, taking into account the above, I’d have to say that I would be against attending Hogwarts. Try some of the other schools, Beuxbatons maybe.
Fantine: Hogwarts sounds absolutely lovely on the surface. My biggest issue with this institution is how little support there is for low-income students. There doesn’t appear to be a wizard second-hand shop or ways to save money. I really felt for Ron and his family. There appears to be no financial aid, which means only the rich and monetary stable students can attend meaning there is a less well-rounded community. This continues a cycle of poverty in which the poor stay poor and the rich succeed, just like in the muggle world. As the other two have mentioned, having only wealthy students attending creates an echo-chamber where the same ideas get tossed around and no one considers the low-income student population. Every society does better when everyone can have an education and to exclude brilliant minds on the basis of income is discriminatory and harmful to society.
Arthur/moody, lucius/moody, lupin/snape?
the brutally honest ship opinions game
Arthur/Moody: ……okay, like, I have basically no positive feelings about Alastor Moody — I mean, I feel the same need to defend him from JKR’s ableist garbage that accidentally got me in too deep with Lockhart, but we are still talking about a guy who supports using Dementors on people and apparently dngaf about what someone’s done, just send ‘em all to fucking Azkaban (GOF ch. 30, the flashback of Moody we see in the first Pensieve scene)
who thinks that the best present you could give to a kid who’s lost his parents and just watched a classmate be murdered…… is going over a photo of the First War Order and telling him about how all of them died horribly and he doesn’t ever stop to think that this might not be the best idea (OOTP)
and who is legitimately less sensitive to other people’s needs and less dismissive of people who aren’t his exact model of “useful” than a literal fucking Death Eater one of the biggest points where Barty Crouch Jr. drops character in GOF is when he takes Neville to his office and gives him a pro-Herbology pep-talk, and goes, “so, hey, Longbottom, Professor Sprout said you’re super-good at this subject, why not pursue it,” because based on the actual canon about him? The real Alastor Moody would never do something like that.
Like, he might have the moment he has with Harry and Hermione, where he goes, “so, hey, both of you could be gr10 aurors if you wanted, you should think about it” because that, from Moody, would be a compliment, and Harry and Hermione more closely fit his own ideas of usefulness, but not so much the Neville moment)
—but seriously, do you hate him or something? Why else would you even dream of shipping him with Arthur Weasley? (okay, fine, I acquiesce that there is enough of a canonical basis for some people to roll with here, and I myself have made ships out of far less…… but seriously, why would you ship anybody with Arthur Weasley. Like…… wow, rude.)
Lucius/Moody: again, I’m not on the Alastor Moody fan-train or anything, but why would you even do this. Nobody deserves to be shipped with Lucius Malfoy, like? He’s not even an entertaining villain, he’s just pathetic. He’s a sad, pathetic fantasy-fascist who gets his kicks by bullying twelve-year-olds and torturing muggles who can’t defend themselves. He’s a complete waste of character space and forcing anyone to be in a ship with him is just unfathomably cruel
Lupin/Snape: meh, whatever. Like, it’s not my thing, but… *shrugs* meh?
Like, idk what you’re looking for here, nonny, but I’m guessing, based on the other two ships, that you’re looking for me to get cranky and ship-bashy and figured that Snu//pin was a good way to get there, since there are a lot of legitimate Problems with this ship in the text
But the thing is, I’m just under 900 years old (at least in fandom terms), and I remember the days back before HBP came out, when Snu//pin was the second-most popular Remus ship (after Wolfstar, to the surprise of no one), and was, in fact, so popular that it had its own private archive and got black-listed from most rarepair comms because it, “wasn’t really rare, just less popular than D//rarry, Wolfstar, Ro//mione, Dra//mione, H//inny, and J//ily”
—I mean, there was a short stretch before OOTP where I tried to make myself like it because there was a BNF whose art I loved, and she shipped Snu//pin, so I felt like I had to be missing something obvious and cool and because I was, like, twelve, I tried to make myself ship the thing. That didn’t work and I eventually just moved on, but one thing that I recall about the Snu//pin fandom that appears to still be more or less true, based on everything I’ve seen of the present-day Snu//pin fandom?
Is that they came out about the same as the Wolfstar fandom, in terms of how many shippers ignored or made excuses for #Problematic things about the ship vs. how many shippers work those things into the overall fabric of how they ship the thing, how many shippers LIKE the ship because of those Problematic parts and having the opportunity to explore them in fiction, how many shippers actively dive head-first into exploring those parts of the ships because that’s where they find the most engaging character interactions or whatever they’re into, etc.
For examples of what I mean when I say #Problematic things about the ships:
the fact that all three of them are self-loathing [human or werewolf] disasters who are often passively suicidal and either prone to acting out on those feelings (Sirius and Severus), or prone to repressing those feelings until they explode all over some innocent bystanders (Remus)
the fact that all three of them have suffered horrific abuse in their pasts — whether from their parents or other sources — and find ways to take it out on other people (Severus on his students, Sirius on Severus and Kreacher, and Remus on almost anyone who tries to get close to him, even as he makes it seem like he isn’t doing that)
Severus outing Remus as a werewolf because he’s upset and felt like punishing someone else for it, thereby leading to Remus tendering his resignation
the fact that Sirius assuming Remus had to be the spy would’ve been at least partially based on anti-werewolf prejudices, and Sirius still clearly had at least some of those prejudices on his own, because even if Peter totally manipulated them in his favor, there had to be something there for Peter to manipulate in the first place, so???
the fact that Remus doesn’t help shit anything, in any situation ever, with his habit of trying to weasel out of any Emotionally Difficult™ conversations and his tendency to mentally spin most situations so that everyone is going to leave him in the end anyway so it’s acceptable to shut down, close himself off, and pull stunts that more or less come down to, “totally up and bailing on everyone,” which is understandable, given his backstory, but dude, that doesn’t make it okay or helpful??
basically, “literally anything about the characters as individuals, or in terms of their interactions with each other — both past and present — that could potentially cause problems for either/both/any/all of them and potentially make the relationship unhealthy (or unhealthier than it already was, in the cases of Snu//pin and Snack because…… oh boy, let’s not even act like either of those — or any ship with Sev in it, for that matter — is ever going to be ‘healthy’ by any definition)”
So, like? Is Snupin #Problematic? Yes, definitely. Are some of its shippers prone to ship it in #Problematic ways? Oh, yes, absolutely (Hell, the BNF whose art I used to like even flat-out said things like, “Sirius would never be able to be there for Remus like Snape could” and… um? Even granted that this was pre-OOTP: ummm???)
But on the whole, Snu//pin shippers aren’t actually any worse about totally ignoring and/or excusing these elements of their ship than Wolfstar shippers are (and, actually, they might be doing better than a LOT of the present-day Wolfstar fandom, since I usually don’t see any more recently made Snu//pin that doesn’t grapple with at least some of the #Problematic elements of it — they don’t always do it well, but at least they’re trying, which counts for a lot, to me, because most people don’t even try — while most Wolfstar these days flat-out ignores all the #Problematic elements of Sirius and Remus as characters, and of their relationship, in the name of what often amounts to borderline-OOC caricatured fanon nonsense, so…)
(……Look, I love Wolfstar, and I have for longer than some people on this website have been alive. But I don’t love a lot of Wolfstar shippers, which has been the case since the beginning of my Wolfstar shipping
stayed the case when HBP came out and I was all, “Hey, guys? I don’t like this BS Remus/Tonks thing either, but can we NOT erase bisexuals or treat Tonks like garbage when we’re talking about it, it’s not her fault that Molly Weasley is a meddling nosy garbage buttinski who thinks it’s her job to play matchmaker to fully-grown adults who didn’t ask and don’t want her input,”
and is still the case as I’m over here, all like, “ugh, man, at least we used to have SOME people in this fandom who enjoyed reading Wolfstar angst, now it seems like nobody cares about anything unless it’s all fluff, all the time, with absolutely no room for anything else because god forbid you ever want to write about LGBTQ characters whose lives aren’t 5,000% perfect, that obviously must mean that you’re a gross fetishistic cishet and not, for example, a neurodivergent, mentally ill lesbian survivor who feels left out by the trend towards forcing every LGBTQ person to act like we’re happy, all the time, and to act like we’re only interested in fictional LGBTQ people who are perfectly 5,000% happy all the time
“and to decry any and all depictions of LGBTQ people being UNhappy as gross fetishistic straight people garbage even when they were actually created by and for LGBTQ people, only to be misappropriated by straight people, as if there’s no way you could possibly be LGBTQ and NOT feel ~used and maligned~ by depictions of LGBTQ people that are less than 5,000% perfectly happy, even when they are being created by other LGBTQ people, yeah? ……but yeah, no, clearly: the fact that I like angst obviously means that I am a straight person because no ~real~ LGBTQ person ever has any need for those ~gross negative feelings~ or fictional outlets for them, never mind how many LGBTQ people get excluded from our narratives and spaces by this bullshit bc lmao who cares amiright. ://”)
—anyway, my motto has been and remains, “It isn’t a question of WHAT you ship, it’s a question of HOW you ship it,” so hey. Snu//pin is not my thing (it’s not even as non-shippingly interesting to me as Sirius/Severus is, because I love how much those two hate each other while unwittingly being perfect foils for each other), but I don’t actually have any desire to ship-bash it and most Snu//pin shippers are okay with me because unless they’re actually doing anything that’s harmful to anyone else, it’s not my business what they ship
That said: “Snu//pin” is still one of the worst portmanteau ship names ever and it still sounds like a deadly virus or something, but *shrugs* Whatever, it’s not the shippers’ faults that their ship members’ names don’t smush up all that nicely
(Questions) Can Alastor Be Sexual?
(WARNING ASEXUALITY IS NOT A SEXUALITY THAT DEFINES PEOPLE WHO ARE ASEXUAL AS THE SAME THIS IS JUST ME TAKING THE FACTS OF ALASTOR CHARACTER BIOLOGY AND DEMONOLOGY TO MAKE A VERSION OF WHAT HE BE LIKE AS ASEXUAL
SIDE NOT THIS IS FANFICTION THIS IS JUST TO ADDRESS THE HATEFUL THINGS I BEEN TOLD ABOUT MAKING ALASTOR HAVE SEX
HOPEFULLY THIS EXPLAINS TO YOU ALL MY PROCESS AND THAT IS NOT A DISRESPECT TO THE ASEXUAL COMMUNITY
THIS IS FICTION I JUST HOPE THIS HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND BETTER
and of course you are entitled to you preference you dont like Alastor as a sexual character but still want him yandere you can request platonic Alastor x reader scenarios and headcanons and so on
But once Again this is not disrespect to anyone just a take on how I work with Alastor being Sexual I know I am not explaining this well I mean How Alastor is sexual but still Asexual... I think Anyway just reade and enjoy this over explain explaination
[Hello My Sexy Readers, I am here with a Question and grivence a lot of people have with Fanfiction Alastor From Hazbin Hotel. Can He Be Sexual Or Should He Be Sexual.
That is what we are here to dive into today lets strap in and do this!
Now the Facts
1: Alastor Is Asexual
2: It Is Fanfiction
3: Vivzie the Creator Of Alastor has approved shipping as long as it is not harmful
These are the three main facts and cannon and such.
Now first what is Asexuality as some people have assumed it means a person does not enjoy sex at all.
A: Asexual is the lack of sexual attraction to others, or a low interest in sexual activity. Some people consider asexuality to be their sexual orientation, and others describe it as an absence of sexual orientation. ... Others are aromantic — that is, they feel no romantic attraction to other people.
Now we do not know if Alastor is Aromantic or not so that will be set up for a later chapter.
As it says above it does not mean that Alastor Cannot Feal Sexual Desire and It Does Not Mean that he does not enjoy it if he did find someone worthy enough to be with
So I am going to use Yandere Alastor as a good Example as it can touch on a few point.
.Alastor Is A Demon a deer demon at that: I think that if he goes by biology which some of the fandom has gone with is Alastor having a rut and deer season. So by Biology he does have moments in which he needs to lack of a better term breed. (Even though sinner demons cannot have children in canon)
.Alastor with feelings?: Now this is why I used Yandere Alastor as it is a good field but he would be very possessive in my eyes at least even if he was not yandere he is old fashion and if he found someone worthy (Or as a yandere found his Darling) he would be more so not willing to let them go and I believe their is the point he can get jealous it can be from small to big but on the extreme note which most yanderes are alastor would want to claim and mark his love and there is two way I believe he go about doing this
Cutting/Bitting/And physical markings
Or
Claiming as a lover and leaving bite marks and bruises to show that he or she or they were claimed by the Radio Demon
okay and a third selling their soul to alastor so then he litterally owns their entire being as his
now back to the sexuality and sex
So yes Alastor will be put in the mood from a rut (The rut could be consider just random arousal which does happen rarely though) and possibly a mating season.
Now this is not saying Alastor will be like sexual a lot or even a little.
I believe that he would like the build up to sex not even the forplay get that out of her not even taking off clothes (Yeets that out as well)
No I am talking the slow burn (Not as Romance) no I am talking about the "Leave something to the imagination" Classy but Sensual type of the thing like the long kisses and lightest of touches.
He will have to initiate them though he would love seeing the reaction of his love if he is romantic as he feeds off it.
for example you are wearing a dress from his period and look of perfection this will excite him more than seeing you naked most of the time
like seeing you naked he may or may not be uncomfortable because of him being a gentleman and so on.
No comes the last thing Asexual X Sexual partner.
So Lets your writing a fanfic about Alastor X Angel Dust
(Yeah The creator approved shipping as long as it is not harmful and such)
So Alastor rather he is good in bed or not can choose to have sex with Angel dust or any sexual partner and if it was someone he truly loved he would do it as he can enjoy sex but it is just not his cup of tea most days
Asexuals are valid and do not need to be "Fixed" But they are also able to be Sexual
I brought this up because this is one of the main Reasons people dig into me about Alastor what I have to say
"I respect anyone of Asexuality and will try to write Alastor when he is Asexual in my stories better to fit him you all do not have to be fixed and you are perfect the way you are. I write alastor as a yandere which triggers the things above though I may not always be clear in my writing of Alastor because I have a lot to improve still. Anyways I hope this does lighten things up for everyone. And Bless You All"
Stay Sexy all of my friends!]
(Side not this is fanfiction if you want to write Alastor with a different sexuality it is just fine, just label and tag your stuff accordingly. So if Gay alastor aint someone thing? They can move on
and you yeah you the haters who say I don't like this type of story or how you wrote the character so I am going to harress and bully you yeah fuck you! No one one if forcing you to read it so fuck off all you kevin and karens and let people who actually enjoy it read it you stuck up baby dick prudes!]
