What do Atem's ancient Egypt friends think about Atem getting a second chance at life? I'm sure their all thrilled, but I bet Mahad and some others might be worried for his safety again, at least in the beginning.
They are very happy for him. While they have missed him dearly and were happy to have him back. They could tell how much me missed his modern day friends. How much he missed Yugi.
Seto’s arrival only drove that point home. Atem had a life he left behind, unfinished.
Atem never got to grow up the first time. The fact he got a ‘second’ life and didn’t get to grow up that time either is tragic.
Now he has the opportunity to have a full life with people he loves. They couldn’t be happier for him.
Although Mahad, Mana and the others wish they could go with him. To live a full life and meet the wonderful people Atem loved. But it’s not in the cards for them. Mahad and Mana can watch over him through the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. With Atem’s memories in tact he’s far more skilled with magic and would be able to summon them or communicate with their duel spirits at any time. It’s not the same as living beside him but he is never truly alone. They will always be there for him.
There is stressful times. Try to figure out Yubel when Jaden is little. The light of destruction coming after them as they are protecting Jaden. The peaceful life they gimped Arem would have is not possible, but he’s happy. His life isn’t in constant danger, just enough to keep life interesting.
They worry but they are so happy for him.

First thing I’ve drawn since the last time I drew a thing.
Couldn’t stop thinking abt yugioh x silmarillion.
Noldorin Kaiba. House of Finwë. Or maybe house of Kaiba?
I based the armour off of mostly the armour in the lots movies, a few random concept art pieces and a discussion I read on whether the Noldor wore mail or scale armour. Please don’t crucify me armour/Silm people, I just liked reading about the various miss-happenings of Middle Earth.

Chapter 17
Back in Egypt.
As happy as Atem and Heba were to finally be together…their happiness didn’t last as after two years Atem passed and Heba went missing…
It started with the creation of the Millennium items… King Aknamkanon last attempt getting rid of the darkness in his son. But it was all in vein and led to his death…despite their relationship becoming strained over the years; Atem still loved his father and mourned his passing. Heba was there to support him as they placed King Aknamkanon in his tomb.
Next came Atem’s coronation and marriage to Heba, the ceremony was beautiful and celebrations went on for a week. The two teens were beyond happy, finally being able to be together and the entire kingdom knew of their union. Heba did not only become Atem’s consort but he became a highly regarded member of the king’s court. He was intelligent and had a way with people despite his inability to talk. He could easily end arguments and get people to work together. Many grew to respect him and were fond of him for his kind and giving heart won him favour with many of the citizens…but many of the Pharaohs council disliked him and the influence he had over Atem.
The consequences for Atem releasing the creatures and the shadows on the kingdom eventually arose. They would bring out the worst in people and brought destruction and evil into the world but with the help of the Millennium items and his priests, Atem was able to draw the beasts out of the humans that housed them and seal the creatures within giant stones which could be used later to defend his kingdom.
It worked for a while until thief Bakura arrived and changed everything…
Wishing to protect his people, the world and his beloved…Atem sacrificed himself to seal the darkness away in the Millennium items…breaking his little one’s heart…leaving him alone in this cruel world…
Priest Seth became the new Pharaoh after the golden objects and Atem was buried in a specially built tomb. Heba would visit the place every day, letting silent tears fall from his face as he grieved over his loss. He was devastated and broken but not angry. He admired Atem for his sacrifice to save his kingdom and its people. The consort just wished there had been another way…
The years that followed were peaceful until the Roman’s tried to invade the kingdom. They were a terrible force that killed relentlessly and took what they wanted, wishing to conquer the lands of Egypt. Heba watched as the kingdom his beloved had given his life for burn, the screams of the innocent filled the air…he knew his time had come…but he would save his beloveds people before he faded away…
He closed his eyes as he smiled, a tear running down his cheek, ‘Till we meet again my love.’ He whispered in his mind before he closed his eyes and a bright light exploded from his body, swallowing the kingdom in a brilliant explosion…
When the light faded, the invaders were gone, reduced to dust…the people and city were safe…but someone was no longer amongst them…the only traces left of Heba were a few pristine white feathers floating in the air where he had been standing mere moments ago…
Many years later…
The morning sun had yet to rise over Domino City, the first glowing lights of dusk could be seen over the horizon. Masami had been rushed to the hospital in the early hours of the morning as she had gone into labour. It had been a long difficult pregnancy, the couple had struggled for a long time to have a baby. She had gone through many miscarriages and nearly lost hope of having a family…but one day while on her way home from work she found a wounded little white dove on the side of the street. She carefully picked it up, taking it home and nursing it back to health. A few days later when she went to feed it, the bird was gone, a white feather left behind in the nest that she had built it. She was confused for a while until a week later she found herself pregnant…now believing the dove had been a blessing…
Solomon paced in front of the delivery, hoping that there were no complications while Masami gave birth to his first grandchild. His was sitting in the chair beside the door, watching her husband, “You need to calm down Solomon. You’re going to strain your back.” The old man glanced at her before sighing as he sat beside her, “I’m just concerned my love…They’ve wanted this for so long. I would hate for something to go wrong and they lose the baby…”
The woman smiled as she took his hands, “My dear Solomon, it may have been difficult few months for Masami but the doctor has said that the child is strong.” She rested her hand on his cheek, “What is it you always tell me when difficulties arose?”
The man smiled as he rested his hand over his wife’s as he leaned into her touch, “To have faith…” she nods as she presses a kiss to his forehead.
The sun slowly rose over the horizon, its light shining through the windows as the sound of a babies cries fill Mr. Muto’s ears. He looked at the door and after a moment his son stepped out, a big smile on the man’s face as he was on the verge of tears, “It’s a boy!” he exclaimed as he his parents stood up and went to hug him, congratulating him before they were led into the room.
Masami was in sitting up in the hospital bed, a soft smile on the woman’s face as she held her new-born child in her arms. She looked over his sweet little face, his tri-coloured hair and his strange violet eyes that sparkled like little orbs of amethyst. She instantly adored the boy the moment she held him in her arms. She heard a flutter of wings outside the window; drawing her attention away from her child for a split second…she saw a familiar white dove. She smiled softly as she whispered, “Thank you.” She turned to the new-born and pressed a kiss to his forehead, “My little boy…”
The dove watches the mother and child before flying away, disappearing into the sky.
Back to the present.
Pegasus had stumbled into his tower, holding his Millennium eye as there were still a few drops of blood running from his eye socket. He walks over to the desk and looked down at the 3 cards that held the souls of Solomon Muto, Mokuba and Seto Kaiba. He turned his gaze to the large painting of his late wife, feeling an ache deep in his heart as he had failed…he had lost to Yugi. He wanted nothing more than to rip up the 3 cards, destroying the spirits that possessed them just to spite the boy that humiliated him…but he was a man of his word…using the last of his strength to return the souls to their bodies.
He opened the drawer of his desk where he kept his diary but instead of taking out the book, he picked up an envelope. He opened it slowly and pulled out two duel monsters cards. His team had worked quickly to get them printed and produced. The game maker stared at the two cards; both of them divine beasts…the Silent Siren; the queen of the sea…and The dark ruler; the queen of shadows. He had faced both of them…Ms. Muto was the sea goddess, he was sure of it. The powers she had displayed and the markings on her arms were evidence enough…and he had seen the dark goddess when he tried to read Yugi’s mind (or rather the spirit that shared Yugi’s body).
He had been right about them, they were powerful and they were dangerous…but perhaps one of them could be reasoned with. He took out a pen after putting the cards back in the envelope. He wrote a name on the piece of paper, he would give these powerful cards to the person who could prevent them from ever being used…
Yugi, his friends and his sister went looking for Pegasus once they realized the man was missing. They found the tower and watched as Croquet was leading a few guards away, one of them carrying Pegasus’ body. Yugi was worried the man was dead and that he wouldn’t be able to give back the souls he had taken. They headed into the room, the short boy relieved to find the 3 blank cards, they were free.
While the others searched the room, Lillian noticed an envelope on the desk…with her name written on it. She picked it up, wondering what was inside it. She was about to open it when Téa walked over, asking her if she had found something. The raven haired girl quickly put the parchment away and helped the other girl search through the drawers of the desk, finding a diary that held the answer to why Pegasus had done what he did.
The teens left the room, heading back to where they had left Mokuba and Bakura. Yugi was the last one to head down the stairs when he was stopped by a strange looking man in a turban, a strange key around his neck…
Shadi wasn’t expecting to the completed Millennium puzzle hanging around the neck of a young teenage boy…and yet his resemblance to the Pharaoh who’s tomb he helped to protect was uncanny…he needed to see what the deal with this boy was. Using his Millennium key, he enters Yugi’s soul…a grace mistake as he opened the door for the shadowy figure to escape the puzzle.
Lillian notices that Yugi wasn’t with them; she turned around and headed back in the direction they had just come from. However she was stopped as a massive came at her, encircling her before phasing into her body. Her mind is taken over by horrific images; she hears screams of agony and suffering, a crazed laugh echoing in her ears as he eyes become a mix of blue and gold before she faints, collapsing to the floor…
Yugi was confused as he noticed the door to his soul room was open as well as the door to the spirits…he crossed the hallway between their rooms and entered a space that was filled with endless stairs and rooms. He had never witnessed anything like this before. He saw the man in the turban heading down a hallway and followed him, not noticing the spirit of the puzzle sitting on a ledge, watching the young teen.
Yugi had saved the man from not only falling to his death but also the…dark magician? Things couldn’t get weirder for the boy. He returned to his body, the stranger who he learned was named Shadi mentions to him something about being the chosen one which confused him more as he watched the man fade away into the shadows.
He headed down the hallway, wanting to get back to his sister and friends wishing to leave this place. Yugi finds Lillian passed out on the floor, he rushes to her and kneels besides her, shaking her gently, “Lillian? Are you ok?” it took a moment before she started to wake up. Her eyes opened slowly, her head throbbing as her body felt heavy. She looked up seeing her brother, not sure how she got there or what had happened to her. He helped her sit up as she groaned, “What…happened? How did I…get here?” it took a moment to gather her bearing’s. She saw the worried look on Yugi’s face, she sighed softly as she slowly stood up, leaning against the wall, “I’m fine…let’s just get out of here…” she tried to take a step forward but stumbled. Yugi was at her side in an instant, taking her arm and wrapping it around the back of his shoulders, putting his arm around her torso letting her lean on him for support. She turned to him, a soft smile on her face, “You really are the best little brother a girl could ask for.” He looked back up at her, returning the smile, “Let’s go find the others…” she nodded in agreement as they made their way back to their friends.
By the time the siblings find the others, Lillian was able to walk on her one, her strength returning. She was relieved to see Mokuba was awake; the small boy ran to her and wrapped his arms around her waist as he hugged her tightly. She embraced him and held him close, “I’m so glad you’re ok.”
“Me too…where’s Seto?” he asked as he looked around. Lillian wanted to know too. Pegasus had returned his soul, “We’ll find him Mokuba. He has to be here somewhere.” She said to reassure the boy. It finally dawned on her that this whole order deal was over…they had won…Yugi had defeated Pegasus and his prisoners were set free…she should be feeling over joyed but…something didn’t feel right…there was something lingering in the back of her mind as she could hear a faint whisper warning her of the troubles yet to come…
She was pulled from her thoughts as Mokuba was shaking her, “Hey are you ok?” Lillian looked down at the youngest Kaiba brother, “Yeah um…just…it’s nothing. Come on, let’s go find your brother.” She smiled softly, looking up at her brother as Croquet arrived and handed Yugi his winnings, declaring him to be the king of games. The man servant left and her brother hand his friend the check for the 3 million Yen, she couldn’t help but find it heart-warming…
Seto felt like he was floating in an endless sea of darkness, he felt weightless, and his mind in a daze. He wasn’t sure where he was, last thing he remembered was looking at the woman he loved before the world went black. He remembers hearing a muffled scream coming from somewhere, it sounded like he was under water. He couldn’t move, couldn’t do anything…had he been drugged? Pegasus had spoken about taken his soul just like he did his brother, was this what he meant? It felt horrible, he felt cold and alone with nothing but time and darkness to keep him company. He thought about his little brother and how he failed him, he thought about his duel with Yugi and how he once again devastated the boy, he thought Lillian and how he had left her in the hands of a mad man…he felt like a failure. He couldn’t understand why things were falling apart…he felt himself falling into despair.
But suddenly he heard a voice in the darkness, a gently song flowed through his ears as it reminded him of a lullaby his mother use to sing to him when she was still alive…during a time when he and Mokuba were happy…it felt like a distant memory…a time when he didn’t need to live up to his step fathers expectations, when he didn’t need to worry about people trying to steal what he worked so hard for, when he didn’t have nightmares of his trauma or have to worry about his little brothers life.
He hadn’t even thought about his birth parents in years, he couldn’t even remember their faces anymore. He had tried to forget about them, it helped him stay strong for his little brother, to make sure Mokuba had the best chance at a good future. He had sacrificed so much for him, fought so hard for him, he had given up his own happiness just to ensure that the kid was happy and he had done it all alone…but that wasn’t true. Mokuba had been there for him too, he remember the Blue eyes card his brother had made for him when he was having a hard time with his studies. His brother always found little ways of making sure Seto got through his day, whether making sure he was eating or helping him run Kaiba Corp or even just sitting with him in his office to make sure he wasn’t alone.
Then there was Lillian, she was there every night his father had beaten him, locked him in his room, taken away his possessions or took away his possessions. She would even sneak in food for him since Gozuburo would withhold food from him if his grades weren’t up to par. She always made sure to add an extra pork bun or two that were home made by her mother…one of his favourites…she would stay with him for hours, giving up her sleep just to ensure he was ok before she left. Even on the bad nights when he lost his temper and took his anger out on her, she still stayed and would console him afterwards. And finally when Gozuburo was out of his life, she was still there for him every night even if she didn’t need to patch him up anymore.
And even though he was probably one of the most difficult people to live with, she stayed. She still loved him even after he messed with her family and he still loved her even if she abandoned him for a year…because the bond that had grown between them was unbreakable, they had seen the worst and best of each other and knew each other better than anyone (well except his little brother).
Was he ever going to see them again? Was he going to ever the chance to tell his little brother that he loved him and how proud he was of him? Was he ever going to hold Lillian in his arms again?
The answer came when the darkness faded away and revealed stone walls and floor, metal bars in front of him. He found himself in as prison cell, he looked around before looking down at himself, had he finally woken up from that weird dream?
He heard the cell opening, a guard standing there with his brief case in hand. He narrowed his eyes as the man set the case on the ground, “You are free to go Mr. Kaiba.” He then turned and left. Seto was confused as she stood up and walked to the door. He was free to leave? Did that mean that Yugi had beaten Pegasus? Did it mean that Mokuba was free too?
He picked up his case and headed down the hall, looking for a way out.
They had searched the castle and couldn’t find the other Kaiba brother; both Mokuba and Lillian were starting to get worried as they ended up in the courtyard. It was late afternoon by now and still no sign of Seto. Mokuba was starting to tear up…Lillian rested a hand on his shoulder, “We’ll find him. I promise.”
The next moment the giant metal doors at the other side of the courtyard slowly opened and there stood the man the two friends had been searching for, a slight smile on his face. Mokuba ran over to him, “Big brother!” Lillian teared up seeing he was ok and followed after Mokuba. The tall brunet set down the brief case and caught his little brother as the boy flung himself at his brother, wrapping their arms around each other.
Seto lifted his brother up into his arms, holding him tightly as the younger brother sobbed, “I’m here Mokuba.” He promised the child before looking up at Lillian, their eyes meeting as he moved his brother to one arm, freeing the other and held it out. She couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down her face as she closed the distance between them, wrapping her arms around both brothers as Seto wrapped his arm around her, holding both the people he loved to him, never wanting to let them go.
Yugi and his friends eventually found their way to the courtyard and witnessed the little reunion between the 3 childhood friends. Yugi couldn’t help but smile seeing his sister happy and back with the man he knew held her heart. He heard a voice calling to him and looked around, his eyes landing on the translucent figure standing beside him, the spirit of the puzzle. The figure turned to smile at Yugi, ~I suppose we will be heading home now.~ he heard the spirit talking to him through his mind, his deep voice leaving a warm feeling in his soul.
The short teen nodded as he smiled, ~Yeah. I can’t believe it’s over and I couldn’t have done it without you. I don’t even know your name.~
The spirit’s expression turned serious for a moment as he seemed to be deep in thought, ~If I’m being honest, I don’t know my name. I don’t even know how I ended up inside the puzzle or who I am or who I was…~ Yugi could feel a wave of saddness flowing through their link. The shorter teens heart went out for the spirit as a thought came to mind, ~Well I could give you a nickname if you want…something to call you until we can recover your memories.~ The spirit was surprised but it brought a smile to his face, his little host was truly a sweet soul, ~That doesn’t sound like a bad idea…did you have something in mind?~ Yugi ran a few thoughts through his head before something popped up, ~Well you seem like a darker version of me and you are kinda mysterious and creepy…not that that’s a bad thing...~
The spirit raised a brow at being called creepy but honestly he didn’t really mind, distracted by how Yugi was fumbling over his words, finding it cute. Yugi cleared his throat, ~…So how about Yami?~ the short teen smiled, watching as the spirit thinks it over before he grins, ~I like it.~ Yugi let’s out a giggle, happy the spirit liked the name.
Joey heard his friend giggle and raised a brow as he looked at the shorter teen, “Everything ok Yug?” Yugi turned to Joey and blushed, “Oh um yeah. Just distracted. We should find a way off the island.” The blond nodded, “Maybe we can ask Kaiba for a lift. Hey Kaiba!” he called out.
The brunet had been enjoying his moment when it got interrupted by the obnoxious Wheeler. He frowned as he let go of Lillian and set Mokuba, “What do you want?” he glared at the blond, “Care to give us lift back home? Since we did save ya and yer brother.” He stated with a smug look. Seto rolled his eyes as he turned to Yugi, “Yugi…” the boy looked up at the CEO, “Um yes?”
“You have my thanks for saving me and my brother…I will find a way to pay you back”
The tri-coloured haired teen rubs the back of his neck, “That’s not necessary. I was happy to help.”
“But still…and as for out last duel…it was inconclusive. I used a tactic that I’m not proud of. And I apologize for that.” Everyone’s eyes nearly popped out of their eyes when the heard thee Seto Kaiba apologizing. Though Yugi wasn’t very surprised, “Lillian explained why you did it…it was to save her and your brother. You had something to fight for just like I did.” He hesitates before holding out his hand. Seto wasn’t expecting this but he shook the boy’s hand. Lillian smiled; maybe there was hope for them to become friends…
“I still wish to duel you Yugi…” Or maybe not…”…But a fair duel. No threats, no tournament, not stakes. Just a clean duel between you and me.” That…was a fair request. Yugi nodded as he smiled.
Seto pulled his hand away, “There should be enough room in the helicopter to fit you all. Mokuba, Lillian you’ll fly up front with me. The rest can sit in the back.” He turned to return to his brother but stopped in front of Lillian, “But before we leave, I have one last thing to do.” He put his hand on the girl’s hips, pulling her close. A dark blush forming on Lillian’s face as Kaiba cupped her cheek and pressed his lips against hers in a deep loving kiss.
Joey and Tristian nearly fell over in shock as Téa found the moment sweet. Yugi just watched, he was happy for them. Mokuba was grinning like mad. Lillian’s eyes slowly closed as she wrapped her arms around her beloved, holding onto him as lips felt like heaven against hers.
Mokuba was the first to speak up; “Finally!” this broke the spell between the two lovers, Seto pulling back first and glared at his little brother, “Do you always have to ruin the moment?” the little boy just laughed, “You make it too ease big brother.” Everyone laughed as Seto groaned. Lillian couldn’t help but giggled as she leaned up and nuzzled his cheek, drawing his attention back to her, “Let’s go home.” He nods and kissed her forehead before taking her hand, intertwining their fingers as the left the courtyard, leading the group to the helicopter.
They flew over the ocean, Lillian staring out the window at the sunset. Finally they were heading home…maybe things will be better from now on.
The end…for now. For a new evil will soon arise and threaten the world.

Egyptian Sites in Yu-Gi-Oh!
The Yu-Gi-Oh! characters visit real and fictional places in Egypt. Here is me trying to make a list of these places and trying to figure out what real places might have inspired the fictional ones :)
Valley of the Kings (chapter 279) : Sugoroku Mutou visits the tomb of the Nameless Pharaoh in the Valley of the Kings (near the modern city of Luxor). The Valley of the Kings is the real burial place of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom. Atem having his tomb at this particular location is a good point of reference to date his reign to the New Kingdom (between 1400 bc and 1000 bc). The tomb of the Nameless Pharaoh, however, is a fictional tomb since no tomb from the Valley of the Kings have traps as imagined in the manga. Also, the Nameless Pharaoh's tomb seems much bigger than that of Tutankhamun's (who has inspired Atem's character). But its size and design are obviously inspired from other real tombs in the valley of the kings.
Tumblr media
City of Luxor/Thebes (from chapter 281 and on) : Atem dives in the Memory World and finds himself in what is most probably the ancient city of Luxor (also Thebes). Although Atem's capital city is not explicitly mentioned by name in the manga, it can be guessed from the fact that the Valley of the Kings seems quite close to Atem's palace, in the storyline. Bakura and Mahad both travel from the palace to the valley in very short times. Also, looking at K. Takahashi's drawings, Atem's city counts a lot of palaces, temples and obelisks. Atem living in Thebes also helps to date his reign more specifically between 1400 bc and 1300 bc (18th dynasty).
Tumblr media
Palace of Malqata (?) : Atem's palace should therefore be the Palace of Malqata which was the pharaoh's palace in Thebes at around his time. The Palace of Malqata has disappeared entirely today but has been digitally recreated thanks to archeological digs. Fragments of the wall paintings and ceilings have been recovered and can be seen in different museums throughout the world (or on the internet). The Palace of Malqata was located on the West Bank of the Nile (same bank as the Valley of the Kings). Since Mahad and Bakura are never shown crossing the river Nile, Atem's palace being Malqata makes sense. https://antiqueprofil.wixsite.com/palais3d/en/visitevirtuelle
Deir el-Medineh (?) : Is Kul Elna inspired from the village of Deir el-Medineh ? Deir el-Medineh is the village where the tomb builders used to live. The village is still preserved to this day and is located close to the Valley of the Kings where the men used to work. It is said in chapter 308, that the villagers of Kul Elna were former tomb builders that became thieves. Plus, around 1100 bc, the real tomb builders of Deir el-Medineh were involved in tomb robbery. Although the date doesn't fit well with Atem's reign, it is most probable that this historical event inspired the village of thieves of Kul Elna in yugioh. There is quite a big plothole with this theory though: since the villagers of Kul Elna had turned into thieves by the time of Aknamkanon's reign, who, then, have been building Atem's tomb?? And where have his workers been living??Nevertheless, despite the plothole, the location of Deir el-Medineh, right next to the Valley of the Kings and Malqata, could explain Bakura's aptitude to go from Kul Elna to the valley to the palace in short times.

u've mentioned a mafia au a bunch of times now, and idk if you've talked about it before anywhere?
Is there anything about it that you can/want to share/ramble about?? I'd love to know! ❤️
…God, have I really mentioned it that much? UGH it's a project of mine that pisses me off and I have a love/hate relationship with it. Tsk tsk. If you want me to ramble, this is certainly how. (I'm sensing this is because you also have a mafia AU...)
ALRIGHT. It's a project that I've been working on for about 3 years? The first, original draft of it was unfortunately lost to the incident that was "Atlas's 200k document of Yugioh projects gets deleted and thrown into the abyss" which was not a personal decision. The stupid ass website that I was using for it got some update and I lost all of it plus another project I was working on.
I rewrote it and the first concept of it was not my proudest choice. Basically, Aknamkanon (Atem's father) led the Sennen mafia and Atem would be taking over eventually, while Yugi, on the other hand, was already the leader of the Muto mafia. It didn't really make sense and the ages were a little weird. He owned a club that Atem wandered into and boom, he kidnaps him to make a pact where they bring peace and end the rivalry between the two mafias. I still have the draft of it and I'm just not really happy with it.
As for the second/current concept, it's better? A lot of things stay the same except Solomon (Yugi's grandpa) is the leader of the Muto mafia and Aknamkanon is still the leader of the Sennen mafia and instead of Yugi owning a club, it's Yami (Yugi's cousin) owning a bar. Yugi and Atem are set up in an arranged marriage to create peace between the two mafias, but they're both fucking 16 when it happens. The two of them secretly plan to get a divorce behind everyone's backs when they turn 18. Things go south when Kaiba steps into the picture and- yeah, it turns into a mess after that cause I didn't really think it through. Mafia AUs are hard and you'd think I'd get better at it after writing it as many times as I have.
It's full of humor and pining between these two boys who are clueless about everything and are idiots about their feelings. There's a time skip where after being separated for a long time, they reunite with Atem standing on the other side of Yugi's gun. There's plenty of sexual tension between them, featuring Yami who literally wants to wring them by their necks for being such dumbasses.
I stopped working on it last summer because I ran into a wall and had a hard time figuring out where to go with it. I recently had an idea of where to go, but it's just so messy and I get really insecure about projects that I don't plan very well. Is it well written? Yes, but again, my planning process is to not have a planning process. Hence why I don't have many long projects on my account. I have a 113k fanfic (my longest project so far) with trans Atem, but that's never going to see the light of day because the exact same thing happened and- whoo boy, it's not fun.
I'd love to get it out there, but I'm just not sure if I can handle rewriting it for a 4th time and I'd need to give it a lot of thought in advance. This was also all set before I joined Tumblr or really started interacting with others within the Yugioh community, so my only encouragement/help was shaking my friends by the shoulders who didn't know what I was talking about. (I even have a Spotify playlist for it and everything!) Maybe I'll find the courage to fix it up, but I'm not sure.
But anyways, thanks for asking about it, it's really been a project that I've held close to me over the years and has shown how much I've grown since I started writing Yugioh fanfiction. :)

I'm so happy that this "Ghosts of Kul Elna forgive Atem's father" didn't happen in the manga, because it made me very pissed when I first saw it and it didn't make any sense. Why would they forgive him? He was one of the people who is responsible for their death. Even Bakura said something like "Did you forget your hatred for him!? "

Crack Idea, but what probably happens at the end of Season One:
Kagemaru: I will steal your soul and rule over this land as an immortal, Jaden Yuki! Jaden: One sec. looks up at sky Hey can this guy steal my soul and use it as fuel for eternal youth? Kagemaru: Just what are you playing at- get struck by hella amount of lightning Jaden: So Grandpa Aknamkanon says no to that.
Hahahaha.
The way Jaden solves all of his problems.
I didn’t realize just how early people started dueling Jaden for his soul. Like the first shadow game is with in the first 20 episodes.
Just image everytime someone is about to initiate a shadow game they just get struck down.
Jaden’s a little miffed about it because he wants to duel but he also can’t be to mad because Grandpa Aknamkanon only does this when it’s necessary. He also knows the old timer is also 1) regretful that he couldn’t help Atem and Yugi durning their struggles and 2) overly protective of his Lineage now that he can be.
This is so funny to me. It get funnier if you extend it to season 2. Anytime someone thinks about join the cult there’s thunder and lighting coming down very close. “Okay the universe is telling me not to join the cult.” Aknamkanon nodding in the afterlife “yes the ‘universe’ doesn’t want you making his grandson sad.’
Viper puts those stupid Bio-bands on the kids and Jaden passes out from dueling Axel. Before anyone can get to Jaden lighting stikes from the sky. They (the transfer students) freak out because oh my goodness Jaden just got struck by lightning. No Aknamkanon just shot the bio-band off.
Once Jaden wakes up and is good to move he drags Jesse outside and gabs his hand. Jesse is still concerned for his friend who just passed out and was struck by lightning so he’s not asking too many questions. Until Jaden steps away from him hold Jesse’s hand out between them with the bio-band facing up, and looks up at the sky and says “hey gramps can you….” He doesn’t finish before lighting strikes and Jesse is standing there, hair a little frizz, eyes blinded for a second. When he can see again Jaden is still holding his hand smiling and the bio-band is off. “Come on let’s go find the others!” Jaden is dragging him by their joined hands to go find the others while Jesse is processing that Jaden’s gramps? just struck him with lightning.

My first time drawing Aknamkanon! And I’m pretty proud of how he turned out! I don’t usually draw elderly people and I think this is pretty good for a first try. I have one more page sketched out so after that I’m not really sure where the story is going. I have a fairly good idea but it’s still probably gonna get reworked about 100 times before I settle on something.

The more I watch Yu-Gi-Oh!, the more I’m thinking that Aknamkanon was not only a terrible ruler but also a not-so-great person because:
- he didn’t ask a thing about the Millenium items,
- he didn’t want to go to war to not create unecessary hatred, lost a large number of soldiers not so long after because of that.
- after getting the Millenium items, he seemed ok to use monsters to destroy another enemy,
- he’s somehow responsible of his brother’s fall in the darkness (because whatever his terrible choices are, he’s still the beloved and sacred pharaoh)
- Aknadin, even though he’s not a role model, sacrificied everything he hold dear (wife, son, ethics) to protect his country, to do Aknamkanon’s job,
- he left all this crap to his son.

yugi goes super saiyan but nothing changes about his hair
alskksks I love the insinuation that he and Atem would just be super saiyans constantly. I was tossing around the idea of Aknamkanon being the king and Aknadin usurping him and exiling yugi and atem (they take on goku’s role) like-
Aknadin: hey dickhead look at my super strong son
Aknamkanon: wow that’s cool, mine are pretty powerful too!
Aknadin: …

Atem's family in the reincarnation au! They're mostly familiar faces, consisting of Aknamkanon, Mahad, and Mana. His mother, Amani, is based off of Atem's mother from the manga. The only new family member is their pet cat, Crunch Wrap Supreme.
