Do you associate your magical girls with any songs/musicians or specific musical movements from the eras they were based off of? Other than Etsuko being grunge ofc (but if you have songs do share)

I hope you don't mind that I'm answering this as a textpost and not a drawing!! It seems more directed to me as a creator + i want to include links and you can't do that on an image. lol

I'll go in chronological order in terms of inspiration! This got REALLY long because I am insane so please excuse the paragraphs.

Disclaimer that I am American and thus my perception of music trends is pretty warped through the lens of what was popular in the US around these times.

Aimi - It's hard to mention the 50s music sphere without mentioning Elvis Presley. That's just a given. The 50s was the major rise of rock and roll, and there's a bit of that inspiration in Aimi's character. But her biggest association for me is no question Doris Day. Specifically songs like "I didn't slip -- I wasn't pushed -- I fell" and her version of "A Bushel and a Peck" (you know, the song from Guys and Dolls!). "Candy Lips" too. Very much the tail end of big band music that pervaded the 40s. I won't include more links because it would just be her entire discography. All those saccharine flowery metaphors about love??? Totally up her alley. I like to imagine that her magical girl transformations are similarly accompanied by those jaunty string plucks.

Hikari - The 60s! The British Invasion! Hoo boy. Initial honorary mention here goes to Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman". Outside of that, though, she's definitely a Peter, Paul, and Mary typea girl. "If I Had a Hammer", "Weave Me the Sunshine", so on. A bit more folksy than one might expect, and completely ignoring the elephant in the room, but I think it fits her well! Throw in a couple early Beatles hits if you really must - "Love Me Do" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" come to mind. Anything simple but upbeat, with a focus on guitar in the instrumentals. "Lemres," you say, "that's every single fucking pop song from the early 60s". Yes. Yes it is.

Akane - Time to get your groove on. The 70s kind of exploded in variety for popular music, and Akane leans heavily towards the disco side, but it's not exclusive. Immediate picks are anything by Earth, Wind and Fire - "Shining Star" and, of course, "September". I am legally obligated to bring up the Jackson 5. "Blame It on the Boogie" is a good pick. Don't tell me you can't imagine a planning montage to these bass lines. Lots of pop and rock acts emerged around this time, but most of them don't seem her style. She'd love David Bowie though. We all love David Bowie. Specifically Diamond Dogs. Shoutout to "Rebel Rebel".

Izumi - Listen man, I had to save writing this blurb for last. The 80s spans so much music. Izumi is a clusterfuck. I guess that makes this appropriate? AC/DC is definitely up there in terms of artist inspiration, with some Journey and REO Speedwagon on there too. I think they deserve a little bit of power ballad, as a treat. Also glam metal/rock, like Poison. You know what? I'm just gonna throw a bunch of songs out there and make you figure it out. "Back in Black", "Walk this Way", "Nothin' But a Good Time", "Once Bitten Twice Shy", and so on. They're having fun and that's what matters.

Etsuko - As mentioned, Etsuko is chiefly inspired by grunge bands! The good old Seattle Sound. Nirvana are obviously the poster child band for that - Pearl Jam and Soundgarden coming in a very close second and third. The latter two of those bands hate(d) being called grunge, by the way. Song examples are "Lithium", "Even Flow", and "Outshined". It's like if you took punk rock and played it through speakers submerged in molasses. Good shit. Mudhoney is also a GREAT example, especially songs like "Good Enough". This is the perfect genre for Etsuko because most of it is composed of complaining vaguely about Society™ and relationships, which is all she does in life.

This has been a glimpse into my sick and twisted mind. If you'll excuse me I have about 40 tabs of YouTube to go and close now.

So in the wake of the newest episode, a lot of talk has been coming up regarding Himura Kana. And full disclosure? I thought the Reality Dating Show Arc was completely based on it until like, four days ago.

For those of you unaware, there's a lot of parallels towards the death of a real life woman, Himura Kana. She was a professional wrestler turned actress, who took her life as a result of online bullying regarding her role in a reality tv show.

A lot of people assume this was based off of this particular incident due to the extreme parallels: but it was more... extremely coincidental. OnK began it's publication not long before the incident. It was inked and planned out roughly a month before her death: that is to say, it is... an extremely odd coincidence. Aka Akasaka is a vocal critic of the industry and is passionate about these topics, and it would appear that it was written just slightly before the actual tragedy. The actual chapter came out roughly 6 months after Himura's death: at the very least, Akasaka did not chose to divert from his plans for the story until then.

Whether or not the Reality Dating Show Arc and what Akane experienced in that arc is currently not something that can be disproved or proven vs. what I initially thought. Unless Akasaka actually outright says "Yes, it was inspired by the Himura Kana incident," it seems to be more "They were written around the same time." And nothing short of a statement from Akasaka will probably be able to prove or disprove it. What happened to her is unfortunately not a unique situation in the world, and I personally think it's safe to assume that Akasaka was very deadset on writing something regarding this topic no matter what. Even if it was rewritten, it would have been the same in heart most likely.

Regardless. I think it was a major fucking failure in judgment for representatives from studio Doga Kobo to not reach out to her family before this episode aired. No shit they're pissed- I'd be pissed. I doubt anything could have made them like it, but it would have been nice I'm sure if someone had reached out to say "hey so there's a lot of similarities between what happened and our work, we can't make statements, but we'd like for you to at least be aware of the fact this episode is going to be made." vs. what appears to have been that her own family just learned about it with everyone else. It seems like Doga Kobo did not think about doing this: and that is a fucking massively horrific failure in judgment in doing so.

So yeah, I'm sure others have talked about this, but I wanted to share that information. That Akane's incident was absolutely based on Kana Himura's story is not something known for a fact from the looks of it (and if I am wrong PLEASE let me know with sources and links) and was written around the same time and likely before her death, although without official confirmations nothing can be stated as 100% fact unless Akasaka confirms it, it's fairly safe to assume that it was some of the oddest and saddest coincidental timing imaginable.

Mem-cho coming up with the room tour vlog idea was actually pretty smart, fans love those Parasocial relationships with their idols and showing them around your room/house is one way to strengthen that. I love how Kana wasn’t even interested in doing it until mem-cho told her you can claim anything you show as a tax expense. She over here going crazy with the tax write off purchases. 😂 no way she went out and got a herman miller, Chanel purse and a custom pc for the video lmao.

Poor Ruby missing sensei and don’t know he’s been with her this whole time..

she cooked in the second half of the episode. I love how persistent she was about getting a new song and getting things rolling with B Komachi, can’t waste any momentum or time. In fact she was so cute that the songwriter Himura snapped out of his writer’s block and had to lock in after seeing her video message lmao. I don’t blame em. She has that same aura and way of just pulling people in that Ai had.

S/O to Miyako as well she served face in every scene she was in today.

Daichi became a single dad at 19 and has not trusted anyone outside of Akane since then, he only tolerates his big sister due to previous family stuff

Selama kurang lebih tujuh bulan proses syuting pun akhirnya selesai, yakni sejak November 2018 hingga Juni 2019. [fanfic] Encounter In Pain

 Shun winced as he picked his way across what had once been a beautiful park.  Now it was little more than ruins, shattered and bent metal everywhere, and a few other things that he didn't want to look at, because if he did, he'd probably start understanding what they were, and he'd never be able to sleep again. 

Yuuto ghosted along behind him, feet as quiet as his Phantom Knights, eyes darting everywhere.  The way he looked at it all worried Shun more than he cared to admit, but he never asked.  Neither of them went out of their way to make noise.  Noise could attract Fusion scum and there was more than enough of those wandering around without that kind of help.

Unfortunately, the sort of people who went around invading other worlds didn't wait patiently around for permission to commit even worse acts. 

They'd been on the way to what had once been a grocery store and was now going to be a supply drop between one of the nearby cities and Heartland City.  Fusion soldiers guarded a lot of the usual places they used for that, so Shun and Yuuto both hoped this could be kept secret for a while. 

Perhaps it might have been.  If they'd ever made it there.

The explosion came without warning.  Shun wasn't even sure of which side it came from, only that it wasn't in front of them.  Behind or to the side; it really didn't matter.  What mattered was that it blew up several of the still standing buildings - not that there were very many of those left.  But what was left was enough to cause more trouble than either of them wanted.

Pain tore into Shun, sending him sprawling forward, long gouges tearing into his coat and pants, a streak of flame exploding across his chest, and sharper agony flowering across his arms and one leg.  He twisted and bucked, fighting back the screams that wanted to tear out of his throat.  If he screamed, the Fusion soldiers who did this would find them, and he wouldn't be able to stop them.  He wasn't even sure if he had a duel disk anymore right now.  He'd have no way to fight them off.

Yuuto?  Was Yuuto all right?  He'd never been happier that Ruri hadn't come with them today.  He didn't want anything like this to happen to her.

Hands touched his shoulders, and he jerked, wanting to scream even more, but Yuuto's familiar hand touched his lips, keeping him quiet.  Shun wasn't even certain which way he faced right ow.  Why couldn't he even see anything? 

"We're going back,"  Yuuto whispered, voice close to Shun's ear.  "You're in no shape to continue."

Shun wanted to tell him no; they needed the supplies, and there weren't many who could make this run.  But whenever he tried to scrap together words, nothing came out of his mouth.  Finally he just managed to nod.  They'd figure out what to do later.  If he couldn't even manage to walk, then they weren't going to make this supply run.  Though how they'd be able to get back he also didn't know.

Something was tucked over him.  Shun figured out a few seconds later that it was Yuuto's cloak.  It seemed in better shape than his own coat was right now.  Very carefully, Yuuto - he guessed it was Yuuto, there wasn't anyone else around who could - tugged him away from where he'd fallen and into a somewhat cooler place.

"You're going to have to stay here while I go get some help,"  Yuuto murmured to him.  "I can't get you back on my own."

Shun wasn't so sure of that; he knew Yuuto was a lot stronger than he looked. But he wasn't really in any condition to argue right now.  So he didn't even try to protest. Not that he could have done a good job of that right now.  Just the thought of moving hurt.  So he stayed where he was and hoped that Yuuto would get back soon. 

Shun figured out very quickly that he didn't like being here, unable to defend himself or even move to a safer place if anything happened.  He didn't blame Yuuto for going back for help, though.  Neither he nor Yuuto knew that much about medicine and if they didn't find someone who did, then his odds of getting back home in one piece were practically nothing. He wasn't going to let that happen.  He had to be there for Ruri. 

They were the only ones that they had left right now.  Their parents hadn't survived the initial invasion.  Neither had anyone else on their street and very few people from their neighborhood in general. Only a handful of people they'd known before remained.  But so many others - cards, or worse.  Shun hadn't known what 'worse' could be.  At least, he hadn't experienced it.  Now he had.  Now he'd sen not just the cards of people he'd once walked past or seen in stores, but he'd seen their bodies, torn apart at times, or just laying there in the rubble - or someone mentioned that they'd not gotten away before whatever building fell or the Fusion forces struck.

Why?  Why did those invaders do this?  What did they want?  Shun wanted to scream his questions at someone who would answer him, and he knew that even if got answers, he wouldn't like them.  There just wasn't any reason for it to happen at all.

How long had Yuuto been gone?  Shun still couldn't see what was going on.  He thought his eyes were closed but he couldn't be sure.  How badly had he been hurt?  Every part of him throbbed and ached and there were plenty of place where he'd been sliced by whatever it was that had blown up.  He could feel something sticky on various parts of his body and guessed that was blood. 

Ruri wasn't ever going to forgive him for this.  She'd told them to stay safe and he'd not done that.  But he looked forward to hearing her telling him how stupid he was.  Ruri would do that quite loudly and roundly.  She made a habit of doing it every time he got back from any sort of mission, whether she’d been on it with him or not.

The pain didn’t ease, but it didn’t get any worse, either. He’d take that. A faint breath of wind blew against him, chlling what parts of him it could reach, and he wondered how much longer it would be for Yuuto to return.

The sound came without warning. Footsteps!  Shun tensed as best that he could, hoping that this was Yuuto and whatever help he'd brought along.  Though - was it too soon?  He couldn't be sure and he still couldn't see anything. So he refused to move, no matter how much he really wanted to.  If he was wrong and there were Fusion soldiers there, then he'd never see Yuuto or Ruri again. 

"Are you sure you saw someone?"  Not a voice that he knew, but it sounded regardless. Shun tensed, straining against the darkness.  He thought he saw a few shapes moving in the shadows that surrounded him, but he had no idea of what they were, or if they were anything at all. 

"I'm sure I did.  If we can find whoever it is, we can card them."

That wasn't what Shun wanted to hear.  It was what he expected to hear, but not what he wanted.  He couldn't move enough to be sure he was out of sight, and he thought that Yuuto's cloak had fallen off.  He still had no real idea of where he was or how concealed he might be.  If those Obelisk Force soldiers found him, there wasn't much he could do to fight them off.  He'd be a card in no time flat.

Footsteps, coming closer.  Those weren't Yuuto's.  He was certain of that.  He thought they sounded like boots on rock.  He strained to see better, but nothing worked.  The steps came closer and closer.

The voice that spoke wasn't one he knew.  It was quiet, and he thought female.  "I'm sorry,"  she whispered.  "I'll get them away from here.  Just stay quiet."

Was he actually hearing that from a member of Obelisk Force?  Those who had wreaked so much destruction on his world?  Shun didn't believe it.  This was some kind of trick.  But he couldn't argue or resist.  Whoever it was turned around and walked away.

"Well, Himura?"  That was one of the earlier voices.  "Find anything to play with?"

"No.  Nothing but rubble back there."  It was the same voice that had spoken to him.  Shun would have frowned if he could.  Why was she lying to them?  Just to keep him safe?  He didn't believe that.  She had to want something from him.  But how would she get it?  What could it be?  It wasn't as if he had anything to offer. 

He couldn't even ask what she wanted.  All he could do was listen as the other Obelisk Force grumbled, unhappy they hadn't found someone they could card or worse, and they all headed away.

Himura.  He didn't even know what she looked like, but he would remember that name. 

He had no idea of how long he stayed there, but it was starting to get a little chilly by the time Yuuto and a couple of other people - who he still couldn't identity - came back.  Yuuto raced over, resting one hand on Shun's forehead. 

"He's still alive,"  Yuuto reported.  "Can you help?"

The voices weren't ones he could identify right away but they did sound familiar.  He'd probably heard them around camp.  Whoever they were, they hurried over to him and started doing incomprehensible things.  Pain that had more or less toned down to throbbing aches and half-dried blood shot up all over again as they checked him over.  A few noises managed to make it out of his throat this time, but nothing that could be called 'words'. 

"All right, I think he's in good enough shape to head back to camp.  If we move him carefully. It looks like most of the damage is lacerations, cuts, bruises and a possible concussion. And his coat needs to be replaced." 

Shun wasn't sure of how much of that was true; but he'd never taken medical classes, and the little bit that he'd had to learn since the invasion hadn't covered this.  So he couldn't argue, as the three of them settled him on a makeshift stretcher and started to carefully make their way back to the base.  He wasn't sure anymore if he couldn't see because of damage or because the sun had begun to slip behind the still standing remains of the city buildings, sending sable fingers of shadows across the land.  Or possibly because his head throbbed so much that he could hardly think, let alone look at anything.

Yuuto stayed by him the whole time, murmuring about how Ruri intended to deliver the worst lecture to him as soon as they got back, and some of the younger rebels would probably admire the scars he would have.  None of that surprised Shun.  He considered himself lucky just to have survived the explosion in the first place. 

The thought of 'Himura' hadn't escaped him at all.  He just didn't have time to wonder about who it was, and he wasn't going to tell anyone else.  He would find out what she wanted before he mentioned anything to Yuuto or Ruri.    He thought they'd understand, but he wasn't going to change his mind.  She wanted something; he just didn't know what it was.

But whatever it was, he wouldn't give it to her.  His world had paid enough for the knowledge of other worlds, and all he wanted was for them all to leave everyone he cared about alone.

Notes: I want to write this from Yuuto’s POV, and maybe something from Akane’s. This contributed to her decision to tell Asuka what the invasion was really like. But will she and Shun ever get to discuss this?

So I’m deciding to change directions in my final project. I’m going to be taking location shots and editing in manga characters interacting with the world as if they existed in it as well. I really like the paper doll aesthetic, and I’m having a lot of fun working on this so far.

Just finished Rebel Skies by Ann Sei Lin and I am screaming.

(Ranting + spoilers under the cut)

OK so like first off - the worldbuilding??? It's so imaginative and just so many vibes and guys I think I just fell in love with silkpunk -

Also the STORY oh my god just - the plot twists?? Haru being a shikigami?? KURARA being a shikigami???? Rei being Tomoe's father????? And like I look back and they were all foreshadowed but I somehow never made the connection how?? Ann Sei Lin teach me your plotting skills

And lastly the CHARACTERS. I just - so many things I loved about them. For once, in ya, Kurara being focused on saving Haru and no mysterious handsome boy or whatever showing up springing a toxic and unneeded romance?? Like yes pls give all the friendship feels. Also just the casual rep in Tomoe and Sayo, how it's not shoved in your face and they're just there and yeah they like each other, which is just really rare and anyway you can tell they have my whole heart -

Then there's Himura and Rei. Oh Himura and Rei how much I would like to punch both of you (also Rei istg get away from Tomoe you don't deserve to be her father -). My heart really broke for Kurara, like honestly because that betrayal was just horrible. For Akane too, because like they really don't deserve to be treated this way and the way they burned while still loving Himura? That's just - so painful.

Anyway tldr this book might have slightly clunky writing and characterization was a little off at times but still I loved it. Rebel Skies needs more attention and a fandom (and I want to draw Tomoe and Sayo SO BAD but also my drawing skills suck so. Hmm. Maybe I'll write something instead when I have time). Next book when?

Rin’s past is filled with twists, turns, death, and a freakshow that changed her soul forever.. care to hear? Give me a listen and let me tell you the tale of Rin Himura...

Rin was born into a middle class family in the countryside of Japan, in a small but quaint neighborhood. Her parents were young but loving, and they cared with all their heart about their little girl. She loved animals, however she didn’t have many friends because of her appearance. Being pale, having dark hair, and kinda creepy eyes frightened other children, but she didn’t mind. She had a few friends and her parents. Her quirk manifested when she was seven, as she had picked up a dead lizard that a neighbors cat had killed, and it had easily been dead for two days. Her parents were shocked but thrilled, neither of them had that quirk. Her parents told her that her quirk could save lives, like a doctor. She set her mind on becoming a doctor since then, and she wanted to save lives. 

Rin’s quirk allowed her to raise and control the dead. Anything animal had died, she could bring them back using her quirk and control their every move, like a necromancer.

Rin kept growing and was quite an intelligent girl, but with a Macabre side, like her mother. Her mom had always liked creepy old fashioned things, like a Victorian horror story. That had rubbed off a lot on Rin, and she would read stories with her mom. Her mother collected that type of clothing but never wore it, in order to preserve it, she kept it in her closet high up where Rin couldn’t reach. When Rin reached the age of 12, her parents took her to a renaissance festival in order to get some new stuff for a Victorian style. Unfortunately, Rin got separated from them. Next thing she knew, she was yanked into a dark tent and knocked out.

A group of men kidnapped her based on her appearance, since she looked to be very creepy. The people who kidnapped her were circus people and wanted her for gain, the recent development of quirks from the past years has led to a rise in the freak show business again. It was more underground than it was before but it was still humiliating for anyone who was a part of it. When they found out about her quirk they were even more excited. 

They made her show off her quirk in front of large audiences until it exhausted her, she’d pass out from the excess use of power, and get whipped when she would stop. She has scars all over her back now and that’s why she wears so much clothing. She had to overuse her quirk almost every day, and it caused her arm to start to rot away from excessive power use, a side effect of her quirk. She brought to life any animals, big or small, predator or prey. They even made her revive some of her fellow “freaks” and control them until their bodies started to smell too much.

For years she took it without a fight, and often nurtured those who were new, comforting them to the best of her ability. She even found herself a lover there, a girl with the ability to turn into a fiery bird of legend, a Phoenix. However, she died after having water thrown on her in her fire form, her body turning to nothing but smoke and steam. Rin carried on for 5 more years after her death, constantly having to smile at an audience that laughed and awed at her torture, and she dare not frown or try and fight, for the ring master had a gun pointed at her in the dark under the stands, and he would smile and point until Rin was done performing her revival act.

After 7 years, she decided it was enough. After being thrown into her cell and whipped on the back for the last time, she used a dead mouse to retrieve the keys and break her free. The rest of the staff and the ringmaster were putting on the other part of the show while she grabbed a gallon of gasoline and a match, walking around behind the dark stands where the audience sat and pouring the flammable liquid around it, she stepped outside the circle, lit the match, and dropped it. 

 She watched the tent burst into flames, creating an inescapable ring of Fire. It killed everyone in the audience. The rest of the staff and the “freaks” were able to escape the tent. She then used her power to bring to life all the freshly burned carcasses in the audience, having them attack the staff. They killed everyone and released the rest of the captives there, who ran free from their slavery. Rin found the ringmaster attempting to run with a charred leg, and ordered two of the undead audience members to seize him and bring him to her. He tried to shoot the zombies, but they couldn’t feel the pain, they were dead after all. She looked down at him, his fear filled eyes meeting hers. She grabbed his gun from the holster, and he watched helplessly as she cocked it, aiming it right between his eyes. He was shot dead on the spot, and Rin dropped her army of corpses, she herself dropping to the ground momentarily from exhaustion. She quickly stood up, remembering she was free. She made her way towards the city with quick strides.

The very first thing she did as she escaped was try and find her parents, she wasn’t super young so she remembered where her house was and how to get there. However, when she arrived at her house, it was abandoned. Boarded off and overgrown with the flower vines in the front yard. She went inside and her heart shattered with every glance, nothing had been taken, it was untouched. All the pictures were still up, there were still some dishes in the sink, and some of her toys were still on the floor. She went back into her room and nothing had changed, she stifled her tears as she looked around, her parents didn’t move a single thing after she disappeared. She quickly left, unable to control herself, and took a walk. She was walking along and ended up in the graveyard that her mom would take her to as a child, where her grandparents were buried. She kept contemplating what she should do, would and old neighbor recognize her? And would they tell her where her parents went? Would they even care? She stopped, walking up to her grandparents graves, seeing.. more stones. She look at the stones and started to shake.

She dropped to her knees, whimpers escaping her lips, shaking violently and tears streaming down her face. She let out the loudest, most painful scream, and gripped the stone of her mother, all the blood in her face gone. They were dead, they were gone. Her mom and dad were gone.. forever. She’s sobbed and gripped the other stone, memories flashing through her head and her heart shattering. Between hiccups and coughs, she glanced at the third grave, her sobs abruptly stopping. With tears still streaming down her face, she read the final stone.

Her name was on that stone. She was assumed dead.. she couldn’t have died, she knew her parents would keep searching for her no matter what. She looked at the dates, her sadness slowly turning into a blood red rage. She had been confirmed dead not but a month after her parents had passed. Connecting the dots, she knew the heroes had stopped searching. Her parents had died 2 years before that day, and she knew they would have kept looking. Her parents had pestered the heroes to keep searching, but they weren’t interested, it wasn’t flashy or cool to look for someone’s missing child. Rin bolted up, tears still clouding her eyes and rage clouding her judgement. She grazed the tops of each family tombstone, and stopped at hers. She kicked, and kicked, and kicked. That stone came loose with her force, and she used a hefty amount of strength to push it down the hill with her foot, her “death” was bullshit.

She stormed back into the house, grabbing her small locket necklace that she had as a child, and her mother’s ruby pendant that she would wear to formal occasions. The heroes would pay for what they did to her parents. They were restless in her graves, and she could feel it, they could never rest peacefully until they knew she was safe. Only now, Rin knew they wouldn’t be at peace until heroes were shown what happens when you leave a child in need.

She found an abandoned hotel and made it her home, she spruced it up with the money she had. And eventually used a small area as a place to meet people in mourning, usually rich families. They had money, and that’s what Rin needed to survive. She told them about her power but lied about it’s specific abilities, telling them they’d have ten minutes to talk to their late friend or family member one last time. She brought them to their burial sight, brought the corpse to life, and had the “zombie” kill them, she proceeded to take their money and have the corpse rebury itself into the ground, which was easy since it was recently buried. She used the money she stole to redecorate her home and get nicer clothing. 

Rin saw the USJ attack on TV and was intrigued by the group who committed the crime, wondering what it would be like to fight in groups rather than on her own. She had always been a bit theatric with her attacks, but this was a level that almost fascinated iher. She decided to take a stab at something such as that. When she found out that the same class would be visiting a history museum, she sprung at the opportunity and attacked. She brought to life the skeletons of dinosaurs and other prehistoric skeletons. This was the first time she was shown publicly, all her cases she was involved with were stated as psychotic attacks by some sort of deranged murderer, never a larger conspiracy behind it nor different undead humans involved. 

Luckily, Rin was smart, and made sure her face was never caught on camera, yet some student saw her face, however, her arm was never revealed. Giran and Rin were at a dinner while Giran was talking with another potential member. Of course that colleague dm didn’t work out, but Rin’s sharp ears overheard the conversation. She approached him and introduced herself. She was proper and shared some casual conversation, she spoke with him about the league in a hushed voice. She told him of her attack on TV and of the attacks on the others she had killed for money. He was intrigued by her, and she was taken to the bar where she was recruited by Shigaraki. 

Her first time killing all of those people in the audience, even though they were all sick and twisted, it haunts her. She feels as if the blood on her hands has never washed off, another reason she almost always wears gloves. If you can tell, she never kills anyone herself, it’s always her undead minions who kill for her. She killed the people in the audience and the ringmaster, she feels little pity for her ringmaster, but it still shook her to her core how many people she killed that day, that blood was on her own hands.

But, something that comforts her is that she saved all the “freaks” at the show and gave them freedom. She doesn’t know where any of them are now, but she took care of them while they were there and set them free when she had the chance.
