very funny when you have long-term OCs that didn't share many traits with you when you made them, but your circumstances have changed so now it looks like you were engaging in some extremely un-subtle projection

something ive realized about social media is that people like Character Design but they do not actually like ocs. you can make a zillion designs of like, a humanized fish or can of soda or flower or whatever and get thousands of likes. but once the novelty wears off and you actually want to Make something with the characters and give them a story (mini comics, a longform webcomic, animations etc) its like pulling teeth.

outside of your mutual circle, you will get one or two reblogs thats like "#i dont know what this is from but—" like they are just incapable of realizing there is art outside of fanart. i no longer blame people that go "oh this isnt my oc its actually just my au/take on [popular character this looks nothing like] from [big media everyone loves]" bc you literally cannot get people to engage w/ your art unless its a one off design or already connected to something .

man. idk where im going with this besides it feels like there's nowhere for ocs that arent gimmicky and marketable and it SUCKS !

Remi Mochizuki is... A character. In the loudest possible way.

As the Ultimate Socialite, Remi is an entertainer at heart that loves nothing more than listening to his own voice and subjecting others to it. She’s a social butterfly and professional life of the party. Anyone who's ever been in the same room as her will recognize his ear-splittingly memorable laughter, whether they like it or not. An incorrigible flirt that lavishes in charming the daylights out of everyone with his anachronistic lexicon and extravagant menagerie of outfits, she's an eccentric if there ever was one.

Put in simpler terms, Remi thinks he's all that and more. He speaks in a roundabout eloquent manner that would make a historical linguist blush; and most of those words end up being some kind of flirting. Her blasé approach to any and all criticism makes him appear incredibly self-confident and assured, bordering on haughty or unwilling to reflect on his shortcomings. Which… Is true, but very unbecoming of a lady and a gentleman such as herself. She tends to overcompensate for this glaring oversight by being exceedingly and excessively nice to everyone.

When he's not dazzling a ballroom of esteemed aristocrats and family friends within the upper crust of society, Remi has turned to some... Interesting hobbies. She adores crime fiction and has a deep-running sense of her own personal justice, which has lead to the creation of...

DREAM★EATER, a gentlewoman-thief alter ego that exists solely for Remi to get her kicks and act like he's doing something important. He steals from private art collections and galas, flaunting the excessive wealth of the upper class in their face and chastising them for their selfishness. She considers herself something of a modern-day Robin Hood, liberating useless baubles from those who don't need them and redistributing the money to something more worthwhile.

He doesn't see how this could possibly be hypocritical at all. What's that? Use his own ridiculous wealth to do good in the world instead of preaching what he doesn't follow? Where would the fun be in that???
