October Sun
summary: you hadn't been sure what to feel after demanding Ajay bring the others. bring everyone. it'd been reckless, stupid. Wally you had figured had been fine, perhaps even Ajay too, but everyone? it had either been the dumbest thing you'd ever done or the smartest. thankfully, you'd learned enough about the others to know what topics to avoid and which to use to your advantage...
pairing: Wally Clark x fem!reader
warnings: eventual smutty smut smut. and mad spoilers. and obvious Canon divergence. very involved, very dense plot.

OCTOBER SUN pt.22
You sat in the dining room, the French doors closed for privacy. Your family was in various positions around you as they helped you study the pile of file folders your mother had exhumed from the enormous wooden chest in the basement.
The dining room itself was large yet cozy, eclectic, lived in; it was where your mother brought her clients for readings and spiritual counsel. A round table took up the middle of the room; a tea tray and plates of finger foods were placed in the center where a hokey crystal ball normally sat. Shelves along the back wall were stuffed with books from the Barnes & Noble witchcraft section, boasting titles like, "A Witch's Guide to Garden Magick," and, "Spells & Incantations for a Better Life."
The plum-colored ceiling was decorated in constellations that Andrew had painted the week before your mother began marketing herself, and the wood floor was covered in a layer of Persian rugs thrown here and there that had absorbed the heavy musk of the incense your mother burned during sessions.
It was a beautiful room, to be sure, and you hated every inch of it. All the frivolous bits and bobs that encouraged people to believe a lie mocking you from their perches. Portraits of people who meant nothing to your family; taxidermized crows and owls and foxes. A mounted stag's head, because why not? It added to the rustic, sorcerous atmosphere.
"What about Rhonda Botezatu?" Ginny inquired around the stem of her cigarette holder. She was done up in a silk kimono, purple hair peeking out from beneath a bronze turban. An homage to Old Hollywood starlets who'd aged into roles they'd rather die than assume. Her thin fingers and wrists were bedazzled with chunky costume jewelry, but her neck remained bare. Apart, of course, from the delicate silver pendant she rarely removed.
You couldn't help smiling at her. She was absolutely marvelous.
"Rhonda..." You began, trying not to peer down at the notes. "Died April 1964. Murdered by Alfons Manfredo, the guidance counselor. She was really into Beatnik Culture and was going to study Engineering at UC Berkeley." You wilted, looking down at the yearbook photo paperclipped to Rhonda Botezatu's dossier. Rhonda stared up at you, the hint of a smile on her lips, clever eyes bright beneath layers of eyeliner and mascara. Your heart lurched.
"I used to watch her and her younger sister, Daria, when she was a child. Her parents were neighbors." Ginny divulged, using her cigarette holder to point out the window as if to indicate the exact house. "Her older sister, Yetta, was a pain. Refused to babysit; too busy husband-hunting, but Rhonda was a hoot. Questioned everything." Ginny chuckled, rolling her eyes, "Pecked at me all day, asking this and that. Couldn't shut her up unless I put on a record and let her dance out all that energy." Her eyes went distant, a fond expression settling into her features. "Precocious. Would've changed the world if she'd been given the chance."
Your mother huffed, hovering over you as she rifled through the mound of documentation. "You skipped Janet Hamilton."
"Ooh, that idiot," Ginny slumped forward dramatically, an impression of being utterly disgusted by something. Your mother cleared her throat with intention, eyes narrowed in distaste. Ginny sighed and rolled her hand regally in your direction, "Alright, chicken, tell us what you know about her."
You stifled a giggle into the back of your hand, sharing a fond look with Andrew at Ginny's antics. "Okay, Janet. She died in 1960, but...I didn't see how...did I miss that?" You asked, scanning the sheet of paper you'd pulled from the dossier.
"No, sweetheart," Nanna assured, "There's no record of it that I ever found. Of course, by the time I started gathering information, a lot of time had passed." You could tell she was trying very hard to search her memory. Unfortunately, however, it seemed she kept finding only blank spaces.
"It was an accident of some sort," Ginny piped up. "Broke her neck somehow. Falling down the stairs, I think."
Nanna frowned, shaking her head at herself, "I vaguely recall some mention of it...honestly, you'd think I'd remember." The laugh that bubbled out of her was strained, tinged with disbelief. "She was my math tutor." A glance at Ginny to confirm, "I could've sworn it happened right before I started middle school."
"Don't look at me," Ginny scoffed, "Maybe you should scribble it down before you forget to again." She looked at Andrew, roping him into the joke, "You need to get your mother checked out, Drew, before she starts forgetting your birthday."
Positioning her reading glasses just above the tip of her nose, Nanna plucked the paper from your hand, adding, in beautiful cursive, a note about Janet's death. "You did forget his birthday last year..."
Ginny took a quick sip of her sherry, rushing to defend, "Oh pish, I did not. I told you, the gift was delayed." And then, as a side note, "Poor Reggie really is losing his mind," though she didn't sound worried about her old friend cum antique dealer. Rather, it was a pitying statement of fact, said in the manner most elderly people use when discussing each other's senility. She put her sifter down and whipped a taunting stare at Nanna, "You know, Babbigail, had either of you listened when I suggested you try the Sudoku, you wouldn't be losing your marbles quite so early."
"Oh, baldercrap," Nanna retaliated, "I'm just as sharp as I've always been!" She narrowed her eyes, mock-accusing, and presented to the room, "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were cheating."
"Cheating?"
"I wouldn't put it past you to use spells all willy-nilly for your benefit."
Nanna winked at you when Ginny scoffed, outraged, straightening her spine and puffing out her chest, "Oh, how very dare you! My own sister!? Implying I would ever turn my back on the Circle!" She lifted the back of her bejeweled wrist to her brow, "Judas!"
You and Andrew dissolved into fits of laughter at the theatrics. Ginny and Nanna bickered often, always making a show of it for everyone's entertainment. It was one of many reasons that you were glad you were all under the same roof, even when it got crowded sometimes.
Behind you, your mother wasn't as amused by the performance, scoffing as she patted your head, reminding you to, "Focus, sweetheart, you only have two days to memorize all of this." She flashed an annoyed look between Nanna and Ginny, "If you two are finished, maybe we could get back to it?"
Ginny sagged sideways against the back of the chaise longue, waving dismissively with her cigarette holder, "No need to get worked up, Alice. The girl has plenty of time to sort all this out." Still, she gestured for you to move on to the next student.
Bernadette King, died in 1969 after tragically falling from a height in the old gymnasium. Then Dawn Burton, died in 1972 by accidental electrocution. Next was Yuri Vyarheychyk, a transplanted Belarussian boy who'd somehow fallen head-first into a kiln during a pottery lesson in 1978, succumbing to severe burns before the ambulance had arrived.
"Are you guys sure I should go there?" You asked, face twisted in concern as you absorbed the seemingly endless pile of information on the table, evidence that too many awful things had transpired at Split River High before now. "It sounds kinda dangerous."
"You'll be just fine," Ginny said, "You're too important. The Awen won't let anything happen to you." It sounded like something a great-aunt was obligated to say, those reassurances that you were the 'most specialist of special children.' In a world where you'd witnessed something profoundly horrific take someone you'd considered more special than yourself, your great-aunt's statement was of little comfort.
Nanna reached across the table and petted your hand affectionately, tacking on, "You have nothing to worry about. We've all attended and we're just fine. Your sister actually really enjoyed herself."
You gave her a tight smile, "If you say so," then accepted the next dossier Andrew pulled out of the pile.
"We're getting into the 80s, now." He informed, eyes twinkling as he stared over your head at your mother. "Starting with the totally hunky football starâ"
"Don't start," Your mother warned. You could feel the look on her face, something eye-twitchy and vexed.
Andrew snickered, rising to the challenge, and tapped his finger on the photo clipped to the front of the folder. It drew your attention down to a face thatâyour breath caught, an unusual warmth blossoming within you as you took in the young man grinning up at you from the photo. The print in the top right corner said his name was 'Walker Clark'. He was...hot. Like center-of-the-sun hot. Soulful, brown eyes, kissable lips, hair swept back in a perfect 80s poof.
Andrew whistled, long and punctuating, forcing a blush to rise on the arches of your cheeks. "I think girly's got a crush," He ruffled your hair obnoxiously, "Aurora had the same reaction when we put her through the paces. 'He's so hot, oh my god,'" He mimicked in a high falsetto, "'If I could see ghosts, I'd literally ask him out, I don't care.'"
"Rory had to do this too?" You wondered, eyes never wavering from Wally's handsome face.
"Of course she did, chicken. Everyone has to. Even your grandmother had to and she can't see ghosts." Ginny explained.
"But why? If Nanna and Rory can't see ghosts, what does it matter?"
Nanna smiled sweetly at you, "Understand, dear, abilities don't always manifest fully at an early age like yours did. Before Aurora entered high school, her empathy was very subtle. Then, in her junior year, out of the blue, she could identify each ghost without batting an eye. If the Ciorcal of the Craft allowed it, I bet she would've had whole conversations with them without needing to see or hear them."
You knew Aurora's empathy was acute, how she could wield it like a weapon or a gift depending on her mood. You'd never tell her, but you found it pretty remarkable. Almost envied her for it. Your life would be much easier if you couldn't see the dead.
"That's why we do this, chicken. It's a contingency, just in case our powers manifest late or they mature faster than we have time to do something about it." Ginny elaborated and it made sense. Similar to Aurora and Nana, Andrew hadn't had any indication that he would develop Connectedness until much later, but now he gleaned incredible things from objects on command.
You didn't realize you'd been staring at Wally's photo the whole time, not once looking up to acknowledge those around you, until Nanna leaned over and voiced, "He was very handsome, wasn't he," obviously having been observing your predicament, "And so respectful. His mother and I were in a book club together with some of the other moms from the school." Suddenly, her tone shifted, turning solemn, "Bea was hard on him, though. Drove him to be the best." She sighed, "I really felt for him."
You listened with half an ear, more interested in pondering what Wally had felt about the pressure his mother supposedly put on him. Had he been equally as motivated? Or had he buckled under the weight of expectation? A tiny sliver of your soul yearned to have the chance to ask him, ignoring for the moment the Rule that your whole family lived by.
"Come on, sweetheart," Your mother's voice interrupted your thoughts, "we have a lot to go through and 2004 is going to be tricky." She flipped open Wally's folder, thus forcefully removing his face from your line of sight, doing for you what you hadn't been able to do for yourself. You exhaled a shivery breath, swallowing thickly as you accepted the first of three typewriter-typed pages. Your mother pointed to the third line of the second paragraph, "Alright, let's start here..."
âââââąââââ
Ajay had smuggled you into the school and up to the roof, managing to keep you from being caught. There had been one close call when Barry had treaded around a corner, flashlight up, demanding to know if anyone was there when your sneaker had squeaked against the linoleum. You'd watched in fascination as Ajay had manipulated his ghostliness to his advantage. He'd marched right up to Barry who, as a living person, had been unconsciously driven to avoid the invisible obstacle, his brain having fed him some rationalization or excuse that had sent him on his way. Piece of cake.
Presently, you stood near the roof's edge, fidgeting nervously as Ajay helped two people over the raised side of the portal, one after the other. You gulped, your heart beating faster and your palms clammy as you took in who they were. Rhonda Botezatu and Charley Morino. Fuck...shit... Instantly, you regretted telling Ajay to bring everyone. God, could you get more stupid!? This was such a bad idea, your mother's voice reverberating inside your skull threats of squalls and storms and ill-fated summonings. Despite the desire to stand your ground and do this for Simon, your soul trembled in despair, unable to shake the feeling of failure after years and years of being told not to let them know you can see.
You squirmed under Rhonda and Charley's attention, your eyes flicking up to their faces and then back down to your shoes as your nerves began to fray. God, Simon, you fretted, I hope it's worth it. 'It' being all the possible repercussions you could face should anyone discover what you'd done. And the more who knew what you could do, the more it was likely that someone would find out.
As you contemplated your friend, a shadow flickered over Rhonda's shoulder. A there-and-gone impression of movement that had wobbled like hot air rising from a desert road. You squeezed your eyes shut and opened them again, seeing nothing to indicate what you'd witnessed had ever occurred.
"Isn't that the chick Wally was hung up on a couple of years ago?" You heard Rhonda ask Charley as they approached. Strangely, they moved as if they intended to make room for someone else between them, but, as you checked on Ajay's progress at the portal, you didn't see anyone else emerge.
"I'm not sure..." Charley answered her, openly studying you through slitted eyes; suspicious, cautious, clearly unsure what he thought about you. Still, he emanated a warmer, more welcoming aura than Rhonda who was all attitude and cool eyes. "If it is, we owe him a massive apology."
Rhonda didn't seem to agree, "She'd better make it up to him. Took him forever to stop sulking."
You were both pleased that Wally's friends had his back and cowed at the reminder that you'd basically gaslighted him in sophomore year, and Rhonda seemed keen to hold that against you. Surreptitiously, you kept peeking behind Rhonda and Charley, willing the universe to be kind and deliver Wally's fortifying presence to you. With him beside you, you felt you could handle Rhonda's cutting remarks and Charley's weighted stare.
As if on cue, the connection began to rumble and roll inside you, rising with more interest as you felt Wally get closer, and your heart started to pound for an entirely different reason.
"So," Rhonda started as she stopped two feet in front of you, arms crossed and expression tightly controlled, "You can see us."
You didn't know what else to say apart from, "Yep," wincing as it fell out of your mouth.
Rhonda's glare turned lethal, "And you didn't think that maybe you should try and help us?"
"Iâ"
"Oh, no, wait, that's right, you decided to help Ajay and leave the rest of us to rot, is that it?"
Charley reached out and touched her arm, sending her an expression of warning before returning his attention to you. "I am curious about why you decided now was a good time for a big reveal?" He asked in a roundabout way, tone sprinkled lightly with denigration.
That, at least, was a simple answer. "Simon's in trouble and I want to help get him out of it."
"Right," Charley looked at Rhonda, briefly seeming to cast behind her, then looked back at you, "The o t h e r living person who can see ghosts. Are you guys part of the same coven or...?"
As sarcastic as he sounded, you sensed his genuine interest and decided to expand onâwait, "Simon can what?"
Ajay's words from earlier flew out of the ether and into your head: "Everyone just got over Charley keeping Simon a secret." Well, fuck me sideways. At the time, you'd been too distracted by the fact that Ajay knew about you and Wally. Then that, of course, had been eclipsed by Ajay's purported friendship with Aurora that she'd never bothered to disclose. With all those thoughts vying for attention, your brain had swiftly filled in the blanks about Charley and Simon with something that made enough sense to keep you from poking at it. Charley, you'd guessed, had kept Simon a secret like most teenagers keep their crush a secret from their friend group. To avoid getting teased.
Thinking about it now, you realized that was the second-most idiotic thing you'd ever come up with after encouraging Ajay to give you an audience with a bunch of ghosts you were supposed to avoid like the plague.
"Are. you. fucking. k i d d i n g. me!?" You dropped into a crouch, top half folded over your knees as you dug your fingers into the back of your head, wholly and utterly defeated by the endless siege of fuckery that had been unleashed since last Friday.
"We'll take that as a 'no'," Rhonda remarked, sounding as though she was checking her cuticles. "So, what are you? A necromancer or something?"
"No," You said miserably into your knees. You rose, rubbing your temples as you tried to process everything while simultaneously explaining, "And I'm not a witch, either, so you can forget about that coven bullshit."
You were getting riled up, angry, confused; Simon could see ghosts, too? Seriously? That could have made the conversation you and he had had on the swings a helluva lot easier, dammit. But, nooo, he'd kept that to himself. And, honestly, fuck Aurora, too, because you'd spent the last three years of your life on edge and constantly alert when you could've, maybe, given fewer shits?!
Another odd, shadowy flicker distorted the air almost directly in front of you but you ignored it, your frustration gaining momentum because, fine, yeah, you hadn't said anything to Simon either, but what the fuck anywayâ!
Just as you were about to scream into the void, a warm, calming sensation swept over you, the familiar scent of Wally's cologne and the pomade he used in his hair curling under your nose like a cartoon wafteron. You tilted your head up, eyes immediately locking on his, and the tension seeped out of your muscles. Wally's steps were measured, his jaw tight, shoulders squared as if he was fighting to control himself from jumping on you.
Right. Ajay had insisted that you and Wally act as if you'd never interacted. Earlier, it'd been easy to agree, the connection subtle and at ease; now, you weren't so sure. The syrupy-slick sensation lulled you into a dreamlike fog, transfixed by Wally's closeness. You watched Wally's throat bob when he swallowed, eyes drifting to his lips before slowly tracking back up to meet his heavy-lidded gaze.
"Hi..." You said, voice catching as Wally neared.
The others observed with assorted expressions of confusion and intrigue, Rhonda asking, "Whaaat the hell is happening?" to which Charley replied, "I have no idea..."
Ajay explained on your behalf, tone entirely put-upon, "It's the cRaZiEsT tHiNg. I noticed it before. Like they have some kind of mYsTeRiOuS cOnNeCtiOn drawing them together..." Glimpsing at him, you saw Ajay's features had flattened, his demeanor projecting exactly how done with everything he was, yet you couldn't find it within yourself to care. Wally was right there, gazing at you with soft eyes and a lopsided smile.
The flicker appeared again, though, unlike before, an almost physical energy came with it, arcing outward from its source into your front, forcing you back a step. A look of alarm spooked Wally's face. He lurched forward a step, simultaneously bringing his hand up as if to place it on something.
What happened next happened so quickly that you almost didn't catch it. As soon as Wally's hand made contact, a featureless silhouette popped into existence. You couldn't make out who they were, could hardly register anything as you stumbled backward another step in surprise, the back of your leg hitting the low ledge that lined the roof. From there, gravity took over, pulling you down as you teetered precariously over the wrong side of the ledge. Everyone reacted at once, Rhonda and Charley reaching out, Ajay yelling and grabbing the silhouette, and Wallyâ
"No!" Wally shouted as he leapt forward, grabbed you by the front of your sweater, and hauled you tightly against him before you plummeted several meters down onto the concrete below. He whirled around, planting himself between you and the ledge, his nose in your hair, heart hammering under your palm, panting from the adrenaline rush. His embrace was viselike, keeping you together as a jolt of fear shot through you.
"Are you okay?" He asked, eyes the size of saucers as he cradled your face in his big hands.
You peeked helplessly up at him, a lump in your throat and pressure behind your eyes, Jesus Christ, you'd almost joined them in the afterlife...but that wasn't the thought that blared in your head like an air raid siren.
"Do it again." You commanded, breathless, gripping Wally's arms and encouraging him to turn around. "Touch whatever you just touched again."
He blinked at you, dumbfounded, obviously not understanding what the hell you were on about.
"Whatever you just did," You instructed, "do it again," placing your hand on his shoulder to show him what you meant. Although he continued to stare at you like you'd grown a second head, he released you and moved back. You marveled as he stepped forward a few feet, picked his hand up, and then placed it down seemingly in midair. Except it wasn't midair. It was a shoulder that became visible under the weight of Wally's hand.
He shot you a peculiar expression, eyebrows drawn in doubt, "Uh...like this?" And then he stepped aside.
You gasped, going very, very still as your mouth fell open and your eyes bulged, a single, quivering utterance tumbling out of you. "Holy shit."
Everyone, including Wally, watched you in wonder, completely oblivious to the miracle that had just occurred. Everyone includingâ

The Voice of an Angel
Fandom: High School Story (Original Trilogy)
Pairings: Aiden Zhou x Evie Ayana (female HSS MC), maybe with a small side of Ajay Bhandari x Cher Lee (female HSS:CA MC)
Characters: Aiden Zhou, Evie Ayana (female HSS MC)
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Additional Tags: Fluff, Singing, Performance, Dancing
Word Count: 2,128
Summary: On Evieâs 18th birthday, Aiden and the jazz band whip up a little surprise for her. Takes place approximately between HSS:CA 2 and HSS:CA 3 (though my memory of the HSS:CA timeline is a little more fuzzy).
A/N: First of all: to the anon who sent the prompt, major apologies for sleeping on it for so long. Coming up with writing ideas is a bitch, but it is something I want to do more often. And there was also that one time when Tumblr turned off editing for answers to asks, which carried over to the draft post for this for a while. Second of all, Iâm fucking obsessed with this song from Doctor Who (âMy Angel Put the Devil in Meâ, from the Series 3 soundtrack) and I think Evie and Aiden would be as well. Third of all, yes this is a belated birthday fic for Evie, but Iâm glad to get it out before the end of Evieâs birthday month at least. Also haha both Evieâs birthday this year and in the setting of the fic were on a Friday. Fourth of all, arghrghrargh my first time writing a fic where one character sings to another AND does a choreographed dance to it too. Itâs a lot more difficult than I imagined lol.Â
(Also, the outfit I imagine for the other jazz band kids)
Prompt: Performance

Friday, March 8, 2019. The day of Evieâs 18th birthday. Sheâd been planning to host a birthday party at one of her favorite restaurants in the city, starting in the early evening after school. Almost everyone she knew from school was invited.Â
It was late in the afternoon now. Evie took one last look at herself in her new outfitâ a navy blue suit with a purple floral necktieâ and grinned, before dashing to the living room. There, her dad was checking his phone.Â
âAlright, Iâm ready to go!â she said.Â
He turned to her. âActually⊠we canât leave just yetâŠâ
She pouted. âWhat??? But Daaaad, the party starts at 5 PM and itâs already 4:45!â
âThe people doing the decorations are⊠taking a bit longer than expected.â
âOhâŠâ
âItâs a bit awkward to go to a party when theyâre still putting decorations up, isnât it?â
âThatâs true,â her face softened. âDo the other guests know?â
â...yep! Iâve just told them, in fact.â
âOkay⊠but how long do we have to wait?â
âShouldnât be more than⊠ten to twenty minutes?â
Evie pouted again.Â
âItâs not that longâŠâ
âOkay, fiiiiine, Iâll be patientâŠâ
âAnd Iâll be doctor!â
Evie winced. âDad, NOâŠâ
âŠ
About twenty minutes passed, and then finally, her dad said it was okay to start driving to the restaurant. After a fifteen minute drive, they arrived, and Evie wasted no time going in.Â
The room was alive with upbeat music, purple decorative lights and flowers, and many of Evieâs friends. It seemed like just about everyone sheâd invited had shown upâ her main friend group, her teammates, her friends from the other cliques and Hearst, Cher and her friends from theatre, the seniors from last year who hadnât gone away for collegeâŠÂ
And all of them greeted her with a big âHappy birthday, Evie!!!â, in unison.Â
Evie inhaled, beaming at her friends. Many of them ran over to hug her, a few others cheered for her.Â
Then she saw Emma and Cher push their way through the crowd and grab her by her arms.Â
âEvie! Thereâs a special surprise for you, right now!â said Cher.Â
âOh yeah?â
âYeah!â said Emma. âJust come with usâŠâÂ
The crowd parted, making way for Emma and Cher to pull Evie to the opposite side of the room. As they did, the party music slowly faded out and the lights began to dim.Â
âWhat theââ Evie started.Â
âShhhh. Youâll see soon enough!â Emma replied.Â
When they made it to the opposite end of the room, a warm spotlight turned on over her, and there she saw it. The jazz band, all set up with their instruments and dressed in matching snazzy black-and-red suits and⊠devil horns? Yes, devil horns.Â
And at the front of it all⊠was none other than her beautiful boyfriend Aiden, all dressed up and holding a microphone.Â
Evie just about stopped in her tracks as she took in his outfitâ a snug, ivory-colored flapper dress that had silver beads sewn into intricate patterns, and hung just barely above his knees. Along with that, he also wore a couple of matching long pearl necklaces, a fluffy white halo accessory over his head, and winged eyeliner.
âWowâŠâ Evie felt her breath catch. âAiden, you lookââ
Just then, Aiden signaled to the band⊠and they started to play.Â
Evie grinned broadly, her eyes immediately lighting up at the familiar upbeat jazzy tune, and watched intently as her boyfriend danced towards her, in steps that were careful and rhythmic, yet lively.Â
Then the tempo slowed, and he held the microphone to his mouth and began to sing.Â
âI'm a country girl, I ain't seen a lot⊠But you came along, and my heart went pop! You took a little streetcar to my heart⊠And an apple of love fell off my apple cart~â
Evieâs cheeks flustered at his melodious voice. This wasnât the first time sheâd heard him singâ heâs sung to her plenty of times, and theyâd practically been doing Evie-Aiden duets since the day they met. But this⊠this was different. Aiden had never done a solo singing performance for her before, let alone one that involved a bit of dance as well.Â
âYou looked at me, my heart began to pound⊠You weren't the sort of guy I thought would stick around⊠Hey, but it don't have to be eternally⊠My bad, bad Angel put the Devil in me~â
And his singing voice was all the more different this time around too. Even later into their relationship, as Aiden had become more confident about his singing, there was always still a hint of nervousness in his voice when they sang their duets. But this time, he sang loud and clear. Like he was owning the stage.Â
Aiden performed a small twirl before stopping, his eyes meeting hers as he began slowly walking up to her, making her heart jump a little.
âYou lured me in with your cold grey eyes⊠Your simple smile, your bewitching liesâŠâ
As he sang that verse, he reached out and grabbed onto her bright purple tie, making Evieâs face heat up as he began tugging on it gently and pulling her closer to him.Â
âOne and one and one is three⊠My bad, bad Angel⊠the Devil in me~!â
The tempo picked up again. Aiden let go of her tie and took her hand in his as he broke out into energetic dance movements while still singing the lyrics to the song, the skirt of his dress swishing about as he swayed gracefully to the instrumental music.Â
Evie squeezed his hand and matched his movements, her pulse racing now. All the while, the crowd watched with excitement. When they came face-to-face again, she was giving him an almost drunken smile.
Soon enough, Aiden broke from her hold and turned around, sashaying slightly as he started stepping away from her⊠before looking over his shoulder, catching her gaze once again.Â
âMy bad, bad Angel~ you put the Devil in me~â
Aiden shook his butt side-to-side to the beat, giving Evie a knowing look that made her cheeks brighten. The music slowed, and he turned around to face her again.Â
âSo, now my dear, I ain't the girl you knew⊠'Cause the Angel's got Heaven, but I get youâŠâ
He sauntered back up to her.
âAnd the tree of life grows tall, you see⊠My bad, bad Angel⊠you put the Devil in me~!â
The beat slowed to a more gentle, relaxed tune as Aiden placed his arm over Evieâs shoulder.Â
âOh⊠You put the Devil in me~â
Aiden gestured towards Evieâs arm, and she placed her arms around him, taking hold of his waist as they began to rock together.Â
âYou put the Devil in meâŠâ
Gently and smoothly, Aiden broke out of her hold and took her hand again. Lifting her hand, he twirled himself under her arm, then placed himself backwards against her bodyâ all without missing a beat.Â
As Aiden continued to sing, Evie wrapped both of her arms around his middle, embracing him from behind. Aiden pressed back against her and placed his free arm over hers, almost as if to hold her arms in place, as they began to sway side-to-side together again. Evie practically melted into him, his body warm against hers.Â
âYou put the Devil in meâŠâ
Then, the song picked up again.Â
âYou put the Devil in⊠me~!â
He swiftly yet carefully broke from her hold again, and danced in a circle around her as he sang the last few verses of the song. She turned to follow him, their eyes locked onto each other yet again, as he gave her an almost sultry gaze.Â
âMy bad, bad Angel, you put the Devil in me!â
At the final note, the lights slowly faded back on. Aiden stood in front of the now cheering crowd and took a huge bow, grinning proudly.Â
Once he straightened back up, Evie finally let out a high pitched âEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!â, bouncing up and down before leaping onto Aiden, sweeping him up into her arms, and spinning him around. Aiden gasped, dropping his microphone with a loud *thunk*â but then quickly held her face in his hand and pulled her in for a passionate kiss, prompting the crowd to cheer louder.Â
After a moment, Aiden broke the kiss. âHappy eighteenth birthday, Darling~â
Evie squeezed him tighter. âAiden, that wasâŠâ She took a deep breath, a starstruck look in her eyes. âYour singing is amazing⊠I mean, Iâve heard you sing before, obviously, butâŠâ
A slight but visible rosy tint grew on his cheeks.Â
âBut Iâve never done a singing performance for you, I know. I figured it was about time I did.â
âAnd you were fucking amazing. Iâve never heard you sing like that before⊠like, you were already good, but I didnât know you were this goodâŠâ
âI mean⊠practice makes perfect, after allâŠâ
âThatâs trueâŠâ
He planted a small kiss onto her lips, making her whole body warm up.Â
âAnd what made you choose that song from Doctor Who for your first performance? I mean, obviously I love the songââ
âThatâs just it. I know how much you love the song, and the episodes it came from.â He chuckled softly. âAnd, I mean⊠I donât blame you. It is a fantastic song.â
Evieâs smile grew wider. âGod, Aiden⊠I fucking love you.â
âI love you too, Evie.âÂ
They pulled each other in for one more kiss, holding each other tightly, before she set him down.Â
âAnd I love your outfit too⊠you look absolutely gorgeous, as always~â
Even as Aiden beamed at her so brightly, his cheeks turned as red as the other band membersâ devil costumes, prompting Evie to giggle.
âWell⊠I have been having a lot of fun trying on new outfitsâŠâ he said, softly.Â
At that moment, Ajay and Cher popped up beside them.Â
âHey⊠if Aiden likes singing, dancing, and dressing up in fancy outfits now⊠you think we could convince him to join the upcoming spring musical?â Ajay said. âHis talent would just be unmatchedâŠâ
Evie and Aiden turned towards them.Â
âThe next playâs gonna be a musical?â Evie said. âIâve been wanting to act in a play, but, uh⊠I donât think Iâm ready for one that involves singingâŠâ
Aiden raised an eyebrow at her. âBut weâve literally been doing duets ever sinceââ
âThatâs different. I can sing alright when itâs more casual, but in a professional musical performance? Iâm not that good.â
âYou should still consider it!â Cher chirped. âIf not an acting role, you can always still be an assistant director or a techieâŠâ
âThat sounds much more my speed.â
Cher turned to Aiden. âYou should definitely consider trying out for a singing role, though!â
Aiden put his hand on his chin thoughtfully. âIt could be fun⊠I know Evie doesnât want to sing in a musical, but imagine if we got lead roles togetherâŠâ
âOh, perhaps I could be convinced nowâŠâ Evie said, before smirking playfully. âBut, letâs be real. Put Aiden in the musical, and heâll probably just upstage all the other singers with how good he is. Heâll make everyone else look like chumps.â
âHey!â Cher exclaimed, her face scrunching up into a pout. âAre you saying I sing like a chump?â
âWhatâ no, Iââ Evieâs face fell.Â
Cher dropped her pout and grinned again. âKidding! You probably have a point⊠I do sing every now and then, but it could use a little more work. Especially since Iâm planning to go for an acting role in the musical, of course.â
âWell, if we canât get Aiden in a singing role for the musical, perhaps he can be a musical director and help coach the actors who are a little more inexperienced?â Ajay suggested.Â
âActually⊠thatâs a great idea!â Aiden said, his face lighting up. âIâd love to do that!â
Ajay beamed. âOh, perfect! Weâll talk to Mr. Olson on Monday.â
âIâll need some time to think about it⊠but Iâll let you know if I do decide to accept.â
âSounds good to me!â Ajay reached his hand out, and he and Aiden shook hands. âAnyways, great job on your performance, Aiden! And happy birthday, Evie!â
âYeah! Happy birthday, Evie!!!â cheered Cher.Â
âAww, thank you both so much!âÂ
Evie gave each of them a warm hug before they walked off. Aiden placed his arms around her and kissed her on the cheek, and she turned back to him.
âThank you so much, Aiden. For being the best boyfriend ever, and for giving me this awesome birthday.âÂ
âItâs my pleasure~â Aiden hugged her tighter. âBut⊠thereâs still more, of course. Ready to enjoy the rest of your birthday party?â
âOh yes!â

A new legend aboard Revenant x Reader
My last one did well so here is more Rev ya simps Iâm looking forward to making more of these I am new to this
Summary: your the newest legend to join the games and you take interest in a certain someone
Words 1k+
Sfw/ Typical Rev/ Ansty/ Fluffy End
Yep it was true you are the newest legend to join that game. To say your excited was an understatement, you couldnât believe you were in the Apex Games. âYou must be the new legend? Iâm Lifeline but you can call me Ajay.â A kind voice with a accent could be heard you turn to see a girl with space buns and what seemed to be a robot companion. âYep that would be me.â You greeted back taking note she was a medic. âWell let me introduce you to everyone Iâm sure they would love to meet you.â She started walking to the main hangout there you saw many different people, you would be lying if you said it didnât make you nervous. Suddenly a man with goggles approach you. âYour new right Iâm Elliot but you can call me anytime.â He shot up finger guns and winked looking a bit awkward himself. âMirage! Sorry about him Iâm wraith.â She walked off pulling the man known as Mirage with her, after getting to know some more people and just hanging out. You noticed one you havenât met yet pointing to him you ask.
âWhat about him I donât think we have met?â Ajay turns to see who you are pointing at but she just sees him roll his eyes and walk away. âThatâs our friend Revenant.â Path said with his iconic smile.âDonât worry about him heâs well cold not worth trying to know him.â Bangalore said basically ignoring pathfinder. You turn back to watch he leave âchallenge accepted.â You whispered to yourself, after learning how to play in the games you had some down time. This was perfect time to see what was up with that robot. Seeing him you walk over with your hand out. âHi I donât think we have met.â You put your hand down and look at him as if you did something wrong. âLeave me alone skin suit.â Is all he had to say but you were not going to give up. The simulacrum known as Revenant was really interesting to you, of course there are other robots here but Revenant was different. To be honest you might have a little crush on him he did watch you a lot. âCome on donât be like that I want to get to know you we will eventually have a match together.â He just looked at you. âWhy do you care.â It wasnât even a question more of a statement. âI just want to get to know you I think your cool.â Cool? Him? Well that was something he had never heard before.
He was about to say something but Bangalore was telling everyone to go to bed. As you entered your room you thought it could use some decorating, something you could do later. getting into bed you lay there not able to sleep but a yellow light catchâs your attention, a little nervous you turn on the lamp. It was Revenant in the door way he invited himself in. âWell ask away I have nothing better to do.â Confused you ask. âWhat are you talking about?â A sigh left him. âYou want to get to know me right? So ask.â He stood beside your bed. âOh right well I donât know I just think your cool I think robots are really fascinating.â He looks down at you with a huh. âThere are two other bots here skin suit why me.â Cuz you liked him. You pushed these thoughts away you just met him. You had to make something up on the spot. âWell you just seem different.â He saw right through that lie you knew it. âHuh is that so?â He totally saw you blushing there was no hiding it.
He moved closer to you looking right in your eyes. âI know there is more to it no need to lie it just wastes my time.â Getting nervous you had to admit he did look really intimidating. âI guess I like you. There are you happy now.â He backed up and left the room. Not even looking back at you it was weird. There was no need to over think it right now you went to sleep thinking he would talk to you about it tomorrow. As morning came he didnât say a word to you, but he did watch you. You would look back but nothing he was just standing and watching. This went on for a while and you were mad. He basically mad you confess just to watch from a distance and ignore you. You had enough. âWhat is your problem?â You were trying to keep your cool but it was hard. âWhat are you taking about.â Of course heâs going to act like nothing happened. âWhy did you make me confess just to ignore me like this?â At this point you were holding in tears you didnât want him to see you like this. But god it hurt.
He just looked at you like he always did and pulled you aside. Sure you had only been here for a few months but he was playing with your feelings, and you were sick of it. âListen Iâm not good with this kind of stuff.â He seemed calm almost like he wanted to make you ever more mad. âNo you listen youâve been playing with me feelings from day one do you like me back or not? I canât keep doing this back and forth.â Your tears are gone and anger fills you as you ask, hoping he gives the answer you want. âUgh yes skin suit how oblivious are you?â What he liked you this whole time? No he has to be lying thereâs no way. âYea I guess I am cuz standing and staring isnât really a way for letting me know.â You still had anger in you but you felt happy he somewhat felt that same. âWe can be together if you want but not in front of the others but they will know youâre mine.â Letting out a laugh you agree to this, it was hard at first. He didnât hug you or anything in front of the other legends but alone he was so kind and caring, well as much as a murder bot could be.

â BIOGRAPHY WHAT IS ONE TO MAKE OF THE BOY HANDED EVERYTHING AND STILL LEFT YEARNING FOR SOMETHING MORE? When Seong-Hoon is born, he is everything parents desire. They are your picture perfect middle class couple, with aspirations for their children to follow their dreams. Seong-Hoon and his younger sister become the apple of their parents eyesâ childhood arts and crafts projects and A+ assignments are the pinnacle of the Ajai householdâs decorations. Seong-Hoon lives for such praise, and its only when he realizes he would receive it regardless, no matter how menial the feat, that he grows disinterested. There is nothing to actively work toward, not when anything he does becomes solid gold in his parentsâ eyes.
When Seong-Hoon attends high school, he does so with a goal in mind. To become something more than he presently isâ to be someone successful in ways that would surpass his familyâs current standing in society. Seong-Hoon is diligentâ and well-rounded in athletics, sports, and extracurriculars. His parents worry heâs stretching himself too thin, he assures them that when you want something bad enough, thereâs no such thing. He recognizes this difference in ideation. Itâs why they were able to be so content with their present, mundane existences. They would never wholly understand where he was coming from.
When the time comes to attend university, Seong-Hoon is picking between several Ivys, but he settles on Harvard, where he would remain for his Bachelors and eventual Juris Doctor. He returns home, a newly minted lawyerâ acquiring a job as a public offender. Heâs a damn good lawyerâ (for mediocrity was never his style), and knows he can be a better one if given the opportunity to do so. Somewhere along the way, he crosses paths with MARCIA RAMOS. In her, he recognizes a mutual hunger, an insatiability and intensity heâd only encountered within himself. They take New York City by storm.
It is when theyâre at their peak that BURNING GODS makes them an offer. Seong-Hoon, a newly minted assistant district attorney, is moved by the suggestion that he could reach the title of district attorney in record timing. Itâs fairly easy to get Marcia on boardâ with the promise of their mutual glory, there were few lengths they werenât willing to go to. He loves her for this very reason, and it is the same reason that he eventually goes to despise her. When youâre willing to give up everyone and everything, no matter the risk or cost, how could it not extend to the person who sleeps beside you every night?
The divorce comes and goes with easeâ custody and the assets are easily split. Their sole child had presently been enrolled in boarding school anyhow, coming home occasionally for holidaysâ spending a significant time with his parents. (He could never be half the parents they wereâ there simply wasnât a paternal bone in his body. Fatherhood is left on the wayside in the pursuit of glory.) He understands why him and Marcia couldnât be together. Theyâre too much alike for one. After all, bad people rarely made for good marriages. This is the simple truth of the matter.
Burning Gods gives Seong-Hoon everything he desires and more. He is granted the position of District Attorneyâ and it is difficult for the public not to love him. Sure, a time eventually arrives when rumors of Seong-Hoon's mob ties begin circulating, but Seong-Hoon appears practically unmoved in the public eye. A natural time, and a desire to please (when it directly benefits him, of course) had already gotten him this far. Besides, when your district attorney just so happens to be an underboss of one of the most powerful national crime syndicates, then purifying the public of mafia influence became easier said than done. Seong-Hoon Baek is here to stayâ intoxicated by the idea of his own infallibility.Â
â ; TLDR
definitely would be part of a trading group
never satisfied overachiever attends prestigious college
becomes a public defender with the attention of moving up the ranks
gets married to a fellow social climber and is eventually recruited by burning gods
they help him become district attorney heehee
â ; WANTED PLOTS
someone sus of his potential mafia ties
someone he potentially betrayed to get ahead
seong-hoon is a kiss-ass, maybe it turned into something more but he was still really just after the material gain
a friend? they do dumb expensive things and it's probably extremely superficial

Kristen applied to adopt a child a couple of rotations ago, and they've been approved. Mary had resigned herself to being unadoptable - everybody wants toddlers and newborns and nobody ever thought she was ladylike enough -and she was especially nervous when she learned her new family was all ladies - but they let her cut her hair and pick out her own clothes and decorate her room which is all her very own and she has her own desk with a private drawer nobody else is allowed to open and Aunt Chloe plays catch with her and she's having music lessons and nobody cares if she makes the Doll family go on spy missions and it's great!
(From the player's point of view it would be greater if Erin and Ajay ever went home. They block the stairs and don't go back to their apartment even when their needs are low and hog the bathroom and reappear as fast as I get rid of them, regardless of how I get rid of them.)

AAFT Breaks Records with 121st Festival of Short Digital Films at Marwah Studios
Noida: The Asian Academy of Film & Television (AAFT) has once again made history, celebrating the 121st edition of the AAFT Festival of Short Digital Films. This milestone event was inaugurated by Lord Rami Ranger, Member of the House of Lords, British Parliament, alongside prominent filmmakers including Vinky Singh, Ajay Chitnis, Nukul Wali from Ireland, Kumar Rakesh, Sidhhaarrth Nayyar, and Dr. Karthik Ramesh from the UAE. Held at Marwah Studios in Film City Noida, the festival attracted an international lineup of attendees and participants.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, proudly announced the record-breaking achievement of the 121st festival edition, which remains the only event of its kind to occur four times a year. âThis is not just any festival,â stated Dr. Marwah. âOver the years, we have celebrated the debut works of thousands of young directors. Today, we mark the only festival that has reached this impressive milestone, showcasing films from over 3,000 directors representing more than 100 countries.â Dr. Marwah, who has led the festival for the past 31 years, expressed immense pride in the institutionâs journey and its contribution to the global film community.
Lord Rami Ranger spoke highly of AAFTâs accomplishments, lauding the institution for its continued contributions to the creative arts. âIt is remarkable to witness an institution that consistently reaches new heights. The sheer scale and success of the AAFT Festival are testaments to Dr. Marwahâs dedication and vision. Itâs hard to believe that one individual has driven such an extraordinary amount of work in the creative field,â said Lord Ranger, praising Dr. Marwahâs leadership and innovative approach.
Each esteemed guest shared their insights, reflecting on the importance of short films and the powerful impact of AAFTâs initiatives: Vinky Singh, a renowned international filmmaker, praised AAFTâs commitment to nurturing emerging talent and providing a global platform for creative voices.
Ajay Chitnis, an acclaimed documentary filmmaker, emphasized the unique opportunities the festival offers to budding directors, particularly those producing socially conscious content. Nukul Wali, a government representative from Ireland based in Dublin, highlighted the global reach of the AAFT Festival, acknowledging its role in uniting filmmakers from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
