Aramid Fiber Market Demand, Growth, Forecast 2022-2028
BlueWeave Consulting, a leading strategic consulting and market research firm, in its recent study, estimated global aramid fibermarket size at USD 3.8 billion in 2021. During the forecast period between 2022 and 2028, BlueWeave expects global aramid fiber market size to grow at a steady CAGR of 7.3% reaching a value of USD 6.3 billion by 2028. Major growth factors for global aramid fiber market include electrical insulation and the production of heat-resistant clothing for firefighters, racecar drivers, military personnel, automobiles, and aerospace equipment. Aramid fibers are used in the construction industry to make corrosion-resistant thermoplastic pipes and fiber-reinforced concrete, which both extend pipeline life and reduce maintenance costs. The expansion of the automotive, aerospace, defense and construction industries is one of the primary factors driving market growth. The market is also growing due to an increasing demand for lightweight materials for personal protective equipment that protects wearers from physical, thermal, electrical, and biological hazards.
Global Aramid Fiber Market – Overview
The aramid fiber market is made up of sales of aramid fiber by organizations (companies, sole proprietorships, and partnerships) that refer to a synthetic fiber whose fiber-forming component is a long-chain synthetic polyamide with approximately 85% of the amide linkages attached to two aromatic rings. Aramid fibers are high-performance fibers made from synthetic molecules with relatively stiff polymer chains. These molecules are linked together by strong hydrogen bonds that effectively transfer mechanical stress, allowing the use of short, low-molecular-weight chains. Aramid fiber is primarily used in composites for sporting goods, aircraft, and military vehicles. It is also used to make clothing fabrics such as fireproof clothing and bulletproof jackets.
The aramid fiber market has grown significantly due to the high demand for lightweight materials in security and protection applications. A key factor supporting the growth of global aramid fiber market during the forecast period of 2021 to 2028 is the increasing demand for lightweight materials that offer significant emission reductions in vehicles. The demand for protective measures brought on by an increase in asymmetric warfare as well as potential substitutes for asbestos and steel are all contributing to the market for aramid fiber's expansion. The market's expansion is primarily attributable to rising demand in the automotive and aerospace industries. The market for aramid fiber is flourishing due to the rising demand for the product from various industries, including healthcare, oil and gas, manufacturing, and others, because of stringent government regulations regarding workplace safety. In contrast, the high cost of production, high R&D costs, the non-biodegradable nature of aramid fibers may act as major inhibitors to the growth of aramid fiber market during the forecast period.

Opportunity: Growing Use of Aramid Fiber in Aerospace and Automotive Applications
Numerous aerospace and automotive applications employ aramid fibers to reduce production costs without compromising the model's structural integrity, producing more effective finished goods. Many countries are expected to invest more in defense infrastructure development and defense spending to increase security, which will increase the market potential for aramid fiber. As electric vehicles must be light, rising demand from the automotive sector is expected to play a significant role in the market expansion during the forecast period.
Challenge: High Manufacturing Costs
The high costs associated with aramid fiber production and development are expected to significantly constrain the market for aramid fiber over the forecast period. Aramid fibers’ long-term market potential will also be hampered by fluctuating raw material prices. Manufacturers of aramid fiber are investing in the development of new products that are more affordable and sustainable to increase their sales over the forecast period and in the long term.
Impact of COVID-19 on Global Aramid Fiber Market
The global aramid fiber market experienced a significant decline during COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, primarily as a result of slowed R&D due to global lockdowns implemented to stop the spread of coronavirus infections. These limitations made it difficult for aramid fiber companies to manufacture and distribute their products, which caused them to lose a lot of money on the global market. The aramid fiber market is forecast to do well in the post-pandemic era, due to the resuming of numerous industrial activities and the lifting of lockdown restrictions. As the range of aramid fiber applications grows and there is a high demand for lightweight fiber alternatives across all industries, the aramid fiber market is expected to rebound.
Global Aramid Fiber Market – By Application
Security & Protection, Frictional Materials, Industrial Filtration, Optical Fibers, Rubber Reinforcement, Tire Reinforcement, Electrical Insulation, and Others are the application segments of the global aramid fiber market. The security & protection segment led the market in 2021. The product's increasing use in bullet-resistant and protective clothing, as well as stab-resistant products such as helmets and protective gloves, is expected to benefit the growth of the application segment. Aramid fiber is increasingly being used in aerospace components, such as the primary wing and fuselage structure of new-generation aircraft, landing gear doors, and leading and trailing edge panels. The superior strength, impact resistance, and low weight of the product are expected to result in high consumption.
Competitive Landscape
Global aramid fiber market is fiercely competitive. Prominent players in global aramid fiber market include DuPont, Huvis Corp., Hyosung Corp., Kermel S.A., Kolon Industries, Inc., SRO Aramid (Jiangzu) Co., Ltd, Teijin Ltd., Toray Chemicals South Korea, Inc., Yantai Tayho Advanced Materials Co., and China National Bluestar (Group) Co., Ltd. These companies use various strategies, including increasing investments in their R&D activities, mergers, and acquisitions, joint ventures, collaborations, licensing agreements, and new product and service releases to further strengthen their position in global aramid fiber market.

Amelia Earhart
Amelia Mary Earhart was born on the 24th of July 1897. She was the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic. She was also active in the creation of the Ninety-Nines, an organisation for female pilots.
Amelia was the daughter of Samuel Stanton Earhart and his wife, Amelia (‘Amy’). She was born in Atchison, Kansas, in the home of her grandfather, who was an important member of their town. She had a younger sister named Grace, and they were nicknamed ‘Meeley’ and ‘Pidge’. Their mother didn’t believe in raising her daughters to be “nice little girls”, so they had a slightly unconventional upbringing. However, their grandmother disliked that they didn’t wear trousers.
As children, the girls spent a lot of time playing together. They climbed trees, hunted rats, collected animals and explored their neighbourhood. With the help of her uncle, Earhart made a ramp and attached it to the roof of their shed. Her first go of the ramp left her tattered and bruised, but it exhillerated her, and she exclaimed “Oh, Pidge, it’s just like flying!”
Her father’s job as a claims officer for the Rock Island Railroad meant that the family had to move to Des Moines, Iowa, where she saw her first aircraft the following year at the state fair. Samuel tried to get his daughters interested in flying, but Amelia took one look at the unsteady “flivver” was enough to put her off the idea.
When their parents moved into a smaller home in Des Moines, the girls moved in with their grandparents. During this time they were educated by a governess and their mother. Amelia greatly enjoyed reading and often spent time in the family library, and when the family reunited in 1909 the sisters were sent to public school.
Even though the family’s situation greatly improved, it quickly became evident that Samuel was an alcoholic, and he was forced to retire from his job five years later. He never got his job back despite rehabilitating himself. Amelia’s grandmother also died around this time, leaving a considerable estate that placed Mrs Earhart’s share of the inheritance in a trust, as she feared Samuel drinking the money away. The Otis family home was auctioned off, along with everything in it. Amelia was heartbroken and later described it as the end of her childhood.
In 1915, her father found a job at the Great Northern Railway in St. Paul, Minnesota, and it was there that Amelia started Central High School as a junior. He then applied for a transfer to Springfield, Missouri, but the claims officer re-evaluated his retirement and took his job away. Amy took her children to Chicago, where they lived with friends. Amelia looked through nearby high schools to find the one with the finest science programme. She eventually decided to attend Hyde Park High School, but she was unhappy the entire year. Amelia graduated in 1916. She continued to aim for a future career; she kept a scrapbook of newspaper clippings about successful women in largely male-orientated careers, including film direction and production and mechanical engineering. She began junior college at Orgontz School in Rydal, Pennsylvania, but did not finish her course.
During Christmas break 1917, Amelia visited Grace in Toronto. WWI had been going on for 3 years, and Earhart saw the injured soldiers coming home. She trained as a nurse’s aide with the Red Cross and began work in the Voluntary Aid Detachment at Spadina Military Hospital.
When the Spanish flu pandemic reached Toronto, Earhart engaged in arduous nursing duties that included night shifts at the hospital. She was eventually admitted herself, as she began to suffer from pneumonia and maxillary sinusitis. She was discharged about two months after the illness started. As she was in hospital before the tie of antibiotics, she had several small but painful operations to wash out the affected maxillary sinus, but they were unsuccessful and subsequently she suffered from strong headaches. Her recuperation took almost a year, which she passed at her sister’s house learning to play the banjo, reading poetry and studying mechanics. Chronic sinusitis hugely affected her flying and other activities later in her life, sometimes she had to wear a bandage on her cheek to cover a small drainage tube.
Around this time she attended the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, in which one of the mail events was a spectacular air show. A WWI flying ace who was participating saw Earhart and the friend she had come with standing away from the crowd, so he dived at them, hoping to give them a fright. Amelia stood firm, and later said, “I did not understand it at the time, but I believe that little red airplane said something to me as it swished by.”
In 1919, Earhart enrolled in Columbia University, in a medical studies course, but she quit a year later to be with her parents, who had reunited in California. In December 1920, Amelia and her father visited an airfield where Frank Hawks gave her a ride that would forever change her life. Within minutes of the flight she knew that it was what she wanted to do, and she decided that she had to learn. She took an assortment of jobs and managed to save up $1000 for her lessons. She had her first lesson on the 3rd of January 1921, at Kinner Airfield. Her teacher was Anita Snook, a pioneer female pilot. To get to the airfield, she had to take a bus to the end of the line, and then walk four miles.
Earhart’s commitment to flying meant having to endure the challenging work and basic living conditions that came with the training. She updated her look to fit in with the other pilots - she cropped her hair and bought a leather jacket (which she slept in for a few days to make it look used). Eventually she bought a yellow Kinner Airster biplane, which she nicknamed “the Canary”, and flew it to 14,000 feet, which was a record for female aviators. In 1923, Amelia became the 16th woman in the US to receive a pilot’s license.
In the 20s, Amelia’s inheritance from her grandmother steadily lessened until it was completely gone. This caused her to sell the “Canary” and the second plane she had bought, and purchase a yellow Kissel “Speedster” two passenger automobile. Her sinus infection also came back, and she was readmitted to hospital for another unsuccessful operation.
Her parents got divorced in 1924, so Amy and Amelia took a transcontinental trip from California, eventually ending up in Boston. Earhart underwent another operation, but this one was more successful. When she recovered she went back to Columbia University for a few months, but had to leave because they could no longer afford her tuition. She began working as a teacher shortly after this, then a social worker in a settlement house.
During this time she remained interested in flying, even becoming a member of the American Aeronautical Society, and eventually becoming the vice president. She also became a sales representative for Kinnear Aircrafts and wrote for local papers to promote flying. She became increasingly famous in her local area, so she began her plans for an all-female flying organisation.
Earhart’s first transatlantic flight was sponsored by Amy Guest, as the trip was determined to be too dangerous for her to make herself. She took off from Trepassey Harbour, Newfoundland on the 17th of June 1928, and 20 hours and 40 minutes later she landed in Pwll near Burry Port, South Wales. Amelia had no experience with the equipment used for the flight, which meant she could not pilot it herself, but it did spark her interest in making the trip solo.
When Earhart and the crew arrived in the USA they were greeted with a parade along the Canyon of Heroes, followed by a reception with President Coolidge. Shortly after this she set off on her first ever long distance solo flight, across North America and back, and was the first ever woman to do so.
Earhart became known as the “Queen of the Air”. After her return to the United States, she went on a two-year-long lecture tour. She began to undertake mass market endorsements to promote her flying career. The money she made with some of her endorsements was saved for a forthcoming expedition to the South Pole.
The marketing campaign was successful in catching the public’s attention and put Amelia in the spotlight. Rather than simply endorsing the products, Earhart actively became involved in the promotions, especially in women’s fashion. Promoting products helped Amelia pay for her flying, she even accepted a position as Cosmopolitan’s associate editor , which she used as an opportunity to promote greater public acceptance of flying and to campaign for more women to enter the field.
In 1929, Amelia was one of the first pilots to promote commercial air travel through the development of the Transcontinental Air Transport, and she invested in starting the first shuttle service between New York and Washington D.C. She was also a Vice President of several airlines, including what was then called National Airways. During the first Santa Monica-to-Cleveland Women’s Air Derby that year, Amelia made her air racing debut, coming third in the ‘heavy planes’ category.
Earhart became an official of the National Aeronautical Association in 1930, and advocated for the separation of women’s records. The following year she set a world record for altitude, at 18,415 feet. She also became the president of the Ninety-Nines around this time. The organisation was created to provide support and advance the cause of female pilots, and Amelia herself was a spirited advocate for women in aviation. When the Bendix Trophy Race banned women from entering in 1934 she publicly refused to fly Mary Pickford to open the race.
Amelia spent a considerable amount of time with publisher George P. Putnam around 1928, and once he was divorced in 1929 he proposed to her - he asked six times before she said yes - and after some hesitation on her part, the couple were married in 1931. However, Earhart was adamant that this would not be a traditional marriage in which the woman was inferior to her husband, and wrote him a letter on the day of the wedding telling him just that. Her ideas on marriage were unconventional at the time, as she believed in the equal sharing of responsibilities and kept her own surname, refusing to be called “Mrs Putnam”. The pair had to forgo their honeymoon because Amelia was taking part in a cross-country tour promoting autogyros. They also never had any children of their own, but George had two boys from his previous marriage, whom Amelia is said to have been quite fond of.
She set out on her first solo transatlantic flight on the 20th of May 1932 from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, and intended to fly to Paris. After 14 nearly fifteen hours and enduring icy conditions, strong winds and mechanical problems, she landed in Culmore, near Derry in Northern Ireland. For her trip she received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Gold Medal of the National Geographic Society and the Cross of Knight of the Legion Honor. She went on to make many pioneering solo flights and broke many flying records.
As she became increasingly famous, Earhart developed friendships with people like Eleanor Roosevelt. The two shared many interests, most notably women’s rights, and the two kept in contact throughout their lives.
A fire broke out in Amelia and George’s house in 1934 that destroyed much of their belongings, so the couple decided to move to California. They bought a small house in Toluca Lake and remodelled it to suit them. A year later Earhart and her friend Paul Mantz set up the Earhart-Mantz Flying School at the Burbank Airport, but it was short-lived.
Amelia began to plan her round-the-world flight in 1936. Her trip was financed by Purdue University, where she had begun working, and a Lockheed Electra 10E was built to her requirements for the trip. Fred Noonan and Harry Manning were selected to be the navigator for the flight, and the plan was that Noonan would navigate from Hawaii to Howland Island, which was a difficult section of the journey, then Manning would navigate to Australia where she would carry on by herself. Due to mechanical difficulties, the first attempt to make the journey was unsuccessful, and the plane had to be shipped home from Hawaii.
The second attempt was a success, with Earhart and Noonan departing from Miami on the first of June 1937 (the direction change was to do with seasonal weather) and, after several stops in various countries, they arrived in Lae, New Guinea on the 29th. They only had 7,000 more miles to go. On the second of July they took of and intended to land on Howland Island. Their last recorded position was 800 miles into the journey, at the Nukumanu Islands.
There have been many theories as to what caused Earhart and Noonan’s failure to navigate their way to the island, but to this day nobody knows exactly what it was. Search efforts started approximately an hour after the pair failed to show up, but they were never found. There have also been many theories on how they disappeared, but again, nobody knows exactly what happened to them.

Flash Fiction Challenge: Day 1 - An Impulse Buy Leads to Intergalactic Warfare
Veronica James walked through the parking lot flea market on a hot summer’s day in Gowanus. Every year the booths had all sorts of unusual knick-knacks, from taxidermied squirrels riding in tiny carts on toy ferris wheels, to metallic charms shaped like crows and shark teeth ready to be adorned on a young punk teenager’s bracelet. The other attendees zipped past her as if she never existed.
She walked past a booth filled with hats. She examined them with her manicured dark green nails. Nothing - only the usual set of oversized fedoras and bonnets. She trudged her dark Doc Marten-adorned feet to a jewelry booth littered with the usual bracelets and necklaces for the quick and ready buyers. Her dark blue eyes surveyed every single trinket exposed before her. Nothing - just nothing but cheap bits of metal stuffed with fake colorful plastic shamefully masquerading as gemstones. The one and only time she bought one of these things was a bracelet in middle school that ended up turning her wrist monstrous shades of red and green. Never again. With every booth she encountered, the results were the same - nothing. Absolutely nothing.
The sweat beat down on her brow, threatening to run down her face to her lips as wet, salty beads. Her stomach growled at her from the lack of food since she left her apartment three hours ago. Her head pounded and screamed in protest from the lack of hydration. Even coffee would have tasted good about now, and she cringed at the bitter taste and the acrid heat. If she didn’t find a trinket soon, she was quite sure she would have made the morning news as a heat stroke victim who passed out from not buying anything.
As if to answer her wishes, a brightly colored booth adorned with red, yellow, and orange flags appeared before her. The booth’s sidings resembled a warm and friendly campfire. From the top beam hung a series of paper sculptures - some of them resembling hives. In front of her was a line of honey jars, each one a darker shade of yellow than the previous one. The booth owner had hazel eyes wider than tea cup saucers and brown hair silkier than the satin pillows on her grandmother’s couch. The booth teller flashed a pearly toothed smile at Veronica as she walked closer to her wares.
“Dude, this is awesome! I’m starving!” Veronica said as she picked up a jar and inspected it in her hands. As far as she was concerned, she had just found some buried treasure in a parking lot across from a simple deli.
“Welcome to the Breezy Bee Boutique,” said the booth teller, still smiling, “I’m Begonia Bentley. All these honeys come from the most hardworking bees in the universe.”
Veronica arched an eyebrow. “Is that so?” She rummaged through her bag for her wallet.
“You bet your boots it is! Each one is tastier than the last. It’s out of this world! It will give you great sensations with every bite, but I must warn you that -”
“How much are they?”
“Five dollars each, and that’s much cheaper than the usual price we sell them for. It’s part of regulations. Still, you have to listen to me when I tell you-”
Veronica slammed down a twenty and a ten dollar bill on the counter. “I’ll take all six of them!”
Begonia blinked in surprise. “Are you absolutely sure you want all of them?”
“Yes,” Veronica said, bewildered at seeing a vendor be reluctant about selling her products, “Now take the money.”
Begonia gulped and looked down at the money in apprehension as she packed the honey jars into a small orange wooden crate, but Veronica, too enamored with her latest discovery, did not notice the look of fear on her face.
She snatched up the crate and her business card with the speed of a rattlesnake biting a weary traveler’s ankle. “Thank you so much! You’re awesome!”
Veronica lifted her feet and started running out of the parking lot on her way home, leaving Begonia and the rest of the flea market behind her. The entire universe could crumble before her and she could die happy with her crate of honeypots.
When she finally made it back to her apartment, she threw the kitchen drawer open and grabbed a spoon and a knife. The crate sat on the kitchen table, just waiting to be opened. Veronica placed the knife between the lid and the rest of the crate. When she pushed the handle, the lid popped off and fell to the floor, and along with the lid came down a piece of paper.
Veronica stared at the paper on the black and white tiled floor. She bent down on her knees to pick it up. The entire note was written in cursive, like the author was an eighteenth century empress issuing an edict to her subjects. Scratching her head, she tugged at the cord attached to the ceiling lamp, and held the noteigh to the brightness.
“To all who purchase the honey of joy and pleasure,” the note read out, “we congratulate you heartily on your purchase. On decree of the righteous leader Queen Pattunia of the Jacket Corporation, no merchant is to sell the jars over or near the market value.”
The blood left Veronica’s skin as she looked at the final part of the letter.
“Also, no merchant is to sell more than five jars of the honey of joy and pleasure to a customer, on pain of death and annihilation of the planet the purchase was made.”
Veronica crumbled the letter into a ball and tossed it outside of her window. Her stomach twisted in knots at the message. Who would execute someone for satisfying a customer?
Boom! She ducked under the table as the explosion knocked the glass out of the window into billions of sharp, flying fragments. Before she could move from under the table, another missile whistled and screamed outside. She shuddered as she heard the bricks from the building next door crashing down.
“What the hell?!” was all she could muster before another missile rang out. As the missiles raged on, she crawled to the chair before her. She grabbed one of the legs to prop herself up to her feet. Her heart pounded as she snatched the crate from the table and bolted to the door.
Her neighbors screamed and clamored for the fire escapes as she ran for the stairs. With every step, she could hear one explosion growing louder than the other. Her hands kept a firm grip on the crate as she sprinted for her life. She slammed the building door behind her once she was finally freed. Part of her wondered how something so trivial could trigger something so manic, so ominous, so… bizarre.
Her jaw dropped in bewilderment and astonishment to see humanoid wasps and yellow jackets and bees shooting at each other. The aliens wore armor which combined kimono sleeves with Elizabethan steel, along with helmets shielding their giant black eyes. The yellow jacket aliens manned aircrafts shaped like giant hives, resembling the sculptures from Begonia’s booth. She had seen aliens on television, and she had read about aliens in science fiction books, but never in her life would she have believed that they would actually come and visit Earth over a crate of honey jars of all things.
Veronica fell off her feet and against the pavement as a missile exploded behind her. The ground scraped the skin off her face. The crate fell from her hands. In shock, she slowly got back up to her feet.
Before her stood one of the wasp warriors, stinger-gun aimed at her chest.
“H-here!” Veronica said as she tried to grab the jars from the floor, “Take them! You can have them!”
Her heart dropped when she saw that half of the jars were reduced to a mix of honey and glass shards. The warrior pulled the trigger. The stinger pierced her heart. Who would have thought that buying six jars of honey would have started a major war?

Vary your altitude, turn and bank as you soar with exhilarating speed snapping impressive photos for your collection. Acquaint yourself with an extensive pre-flight safety check including ailerons function, flaps and rudders, suspension, fuselage conditions, and fuel level gauges. Once ground checks are done you will taxi into position, wait for the tower all clear, and head into the wild blue yonder.
8. Cycle the Golden Coast. The sun peeking over the horizon with divine hues of orange, scarlet, crimson, and yellow ginger. Heading down a picturesque road lined with tall cornstalks on either side on the Water Front Trail in Ontario’s Southern Coastline; the Shores of Lake Erie in Norfolk County. Long known as the Gold Coast, glancing right, can catch a glimpse of the lake from time to time as the sun leisurely elevates transcending shimmering rays over the surface of the sparkling water. Marvel at the modern and historical architectural delights of the homes and farms along the way.
9. Get Carried Away with a Hot Air Balloon Ride. Slowly drift over beautiful countryside landscapes as you revel in peace and tranquillity while skimming tree tops and corn fields. Gently drift along as there will be many opportunities to seize incredible “Birds eye” photos and share in one of the oldest of ballooning traditions – a champagne toast after your excursion.

The splendour overlooking a World Biosphere will leave you breathless but nothing compares to a moonlight glow in the forest for an unforgettable venture. Overview of Premise and Purpose:
The premise of our project is describing the social phenomenon through the individual’s actions; although we are controlling our own decisions and future as an independent human being, however, there is still an invisible hand that is controlling or directing our decision. In this project, the audience will be making decisions for the protagonist, Jack. The audience may feel in control of the character’s action, but as the film progress the audience will find out that their decision only has a small effect on the character’s ending, which represents the idea of the film, an invisible power that is controlling the decision. The short film will be an animated mystery film named The Kite Life. It is using a multi-linear narrative structure to represent the meaning what we are trying to give to the audience. It’s an experience that the audiences may miss or pass from their life, reflect themselves from the protagonist. Furthermore, most people are looking for a stackable piece to enjoy in between their break, the fundamental purpose of the project is to communicate the message through a story in a short interactive film that allows the audience to get involve and to have a different perspective.
Medium/Platform Features and Intended Audience:
The project will be placed on online social mediums such as YouTube. YouTube has a large group of young adult users, which matches with the project’s intended audience. The advantage of digital media like YouTube is that it breaks the limitation of the traditional media. Through the Internet it exceeds the limitation of time and space, it allows the audience to experience the project through different devices at anywhere and anytime which makes it easier to attracts audience around the world and draw attention to the project. The challenge with platforms like YouTube is that its audience is mostly looking for a snackable short video. As a result, the film needs to communicate and convey its concept to the audience in around 5 minutes. The project is designed in multi-linear narrative structure, as a result, the team has decided to use film, a medium that has a linear structure. The advantage of film is that is can direct the audience’s focus easily, for instance, using color to illustrate the protagonist, using background music to create mood, or implying upcoming action. The film also creates a multi-sensory experience which allows the audience to immerse into the story easily. The limitation of films is that is has a narrower agency and interactivity. Because films have a linear narrative structure, it does not provide as much agency as other mediums like a video game. On the other hand, the limited interaction of film matches the idea of the project, which is allowing the audience to control the protagonist but the narrative structure controls the overall story direction. The intended audience of the project is targeted at adults between the age of 20 to 40 who spend a great amount of time on digital devices and social media. The film will be present on YouTube since largest group audience of YouTube is between age 25 -34, which cover most of the project’s intended audience. The film targeted audience is the group of an age of 20 to 40 because this group of people can relate to the protagonist’s experience to themselves. These audience has acquired certain social experience and faces choices and decisions in their lives, which allows the audience to understand the concept of the film. A similar project would be Borrowed Time produced by Pixar Animation Studio, it is an animated film that has specific targets the adult audience. Although Borrowed Time is an animated film but the film has a very heavy emotion and mood, and the film focus on the internal conflict of the character which is more suitable for the adult audience and because it will be difficult for the younger audience to understand. The Kite Life will be using a similar approach to a darker mood within the animated film and a conflict between the protagonist and the society, as a result, the project has targeted the audience between an age of 20 to 40.
Storyworld and Sub-settings:
This setting of the film is the epitome of the contemporary society and the real world, and it reflecting the situation of people within the society. The player will experience one day of the protagonist’s life. The story starts as the protagonist and end at night. In the film, the audience will transition between the scene as the audience decided how the protagonist will react to the event. Each decision will lead the audience to different location and scene. Between each choice, the audience will have to watch a short transition animation. Each option will be present with text bubble with icon button that represents the response of the protagonist. For instance, in the working path, the audience will see two different customers and according to their dialog, the audience has to choose which customer Jack should assist. The story will take place on a planet named Box. The locations, buildings, and objects on the planet will look similar to the real world, the only difference is that instance of human the planet is dominated by a species calls Box, which is a human-like intelligent figure that has the looks of a box. In this universe, each planet has a god who is in charge of the development of the planet. The god can remove those that the god feels it not productive to the society from the world by cutting their lifeline. On this planet, because the god wants to develop the planet quickly, all the boxes extremely focus on the work and they believe that being productive is the goal of their life. They have become emotionless and careless about other. However, none of the boxes realize or notice that there is a god controlling their life.

However, at each decision, the audience would not be able to see the outcome since the audience only gets to decide how the protagonist will react to the current situation instead of the sequence of actions of the protagonist. Other time, the audience will see the dialog of another character first and decide which character should the protagonist talks to. The project will be present in the third point of view to create a feeling of being in control, the audience will be able to see the setting, protagonist and other characters. The user agency in the film is to allow the audience to choose where the protagonist is going and what to do. At each decision-making point, the choices will be present in icon button and text bubble which will appear in front of the protagonist. Each decision will lead to different events and in the end, will result in two kinds of ending. The audience can play through the film multiple times to see how each decision will lead to different endings.
Narrative and Gaming Elements:
The film is following a 3 act structure to develop the story. In Act I of the story, the narrative mainly focus on establishing the story, the protagonist, locations, and the protagonist’s life are being introduced to the audience. In Act I the audience will decide the direction of the story by choosing whether the protagonist is going to work or taking a day off. In Act II, the audience’s decision will affect how the story turns out. In this Act, if the audience is following the storyline of working, the audience’s decision will direct the protagonist to get the promotion or be fired from the job. At the taking a day off storyline, the audience will choose where the protagonist is going and will result in three different events. Killing in an aircraft accident while traveling to another city, staying at home and killed by a dropping plane or return home safely. In Act III, the audience will uncover the truth of this universal. Although the film has two different endings, but in both endings, the audience will find out that all the creature on the planet is controlling by a god that has a doll figure look. In Act III, if the protagonist ends up unemployed the god will cut the lifeline of the protagonist and throw the protagonist into a garbage can. If the protagonist is killed in the travel storyline, the protagonist will also be thrown into the garbage can. The other ending will be triggered when the protagonist does not end up unemployed in the working storyline, or when the protagonist safely returns home from the travel storyline. In this ending, the audience will see that each individual is attached to a wire that is held by the god.
Structure and User Interface:
Users will play as the main character that follows the path to find storylines and to two different ending. The users will choose which path they want to enter and start to explore that story-world. The structure of this story is multi-linear, starting from the first location and then protagonist will go to other locations based on the audience’s choice. Each choice will consequence in different events but in the end, these decisions will result in two kinds of endings. There are two endings for our story. One is the main character continues his boring life likes the most of the people in the social, and another is the main character thrown to garbage ban by the doll who is our controller in the virtual world to irony the current social phenomenon. The two end points of our story would be a resolution of the storylines by user’s choices. The world of our story will be an interactive narrative with four main linear story lines and four non-linear story lines. The narrative will branch to two lines at the beginning of the story, and each line will also branch to two storylines based on user’s choices to the development of the plots. The story also follows the passenger train model, which means the audience must complete certain action in order to progress into the next part. In our story, it will only advance after the audience has finished watching the animation and click on their choice. The story also used some elements of the funnel model and binary choice. At the beginning of the story, the audience has great influence on the direction of the story, but as the story progresses the audience’s choice becomes constrained and has less influence toward the ending. The interaction in the story is using the binary choice construct, at each decision point there will be two choices. For instance, in the beginning of the story, the audience can choose to go to work or take a day off. The interaction interface in the film will be icon buttons with a text bubble that represent how the protagonist will react to the current situation. The buttons will only appear after the previous event animation has stopped, the audience can click on the icon button to progress the story. The film is using mainly using the stimulus and response interactivity. After clicking on the button the audience will be rewarded by a short animation sequence. Furthermore, by clicking on the button it will lead the audience to the next events.
User’s engagement:
The content of narrative will engagement the users. In the story, the audiences can interact with digital content in a variety of ways, and different types of interactive media led the audiences to different types of interactivity while makes the audience engaged by the main character’s action. Users have to help and make decisions for the main character’s action and different choices can lead the main character goes to a different path and ending. As the user can help with the development of the story and the curiosity also can bring the user to the end of the story. For example, when the main character wakes up in the beginning of the story that the stimulus might be two highlighted color images above the character’s head which the audience clicks on and is rewarded by a short animated sequence. This stimulus response from the audiences that make decisions and navigate the character moving in the next sequence. As the audiences, they can control the development of the story to continue and the curiosity can bring the audience to go through the ending of the story. In the middle of the story, the audiences can communicate with other characters by a dialogue menu. The audience will see the conversation between characters and choose how the protagonist will respond. The audience would not be able to foresee the following events since each choice is only connected to the current situation. In the ending of our story, there will have two kinds of ending. Both two endings, the character will get different lives based on the audience’s decisions. We are building a system of rewards and penalties to the character such as still alive or throw to garbage with the audience’s decision. No matter the audience how to choose, the character still has one ending in the story to reflect the social issue or phenomenon. Finally, we would like to send our interactive film to online forums on YouTube or Vimeo because that kind of social media is a form of interactivity which can get comments between audiences and designers. The audience also can socialize others and participate in a virtual community to exchange of information; therefore, the audiences can get the development of the story. We are offering the audience a meaningful interactivity that by making a different decision in life can lead one’s life to a different direction. We are also circulating a positive attitude toward life that as long as one is laborious, awards in life will come. This interactivity has a significant impact on the material because the choice of audiences can affect the development of the story.

Put away the phones, laptops, and iPads – explore nature; challenge yourself and appreciate your full potential, break up boredom or give in to your wild side. Your experience is just a click away… Here are 10 weekend secrets to having a completely awesome fall season in Southern Ontario.
1. Experience A New Altitude on a Submarine Tour – HMCS Ojibwa. Mounted on a specially designed floating dry dock in Port Burwell, this showcase is hard to miss; standing 5 stories high, tours inside this decommissioned sub illustrate life under the ocean waves. While you’re here treat yourself to all the other spendors this locale has to offer as well – sandy beaches, provincial park, historic lighthouse and lakeshore wind farm.
2. Treat the Family at a Fall Fair. According to the Ontario Agricultural Society, there are more than 230 agricultural fairs and exhibitions throughout Ontario and one of the oldest is The 171st Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show — October 2nd to the 8th. Musical grandstand entertainment and demolition derbies are the crowd favourites but there are many agricultural displays, craft exhibits, food vendors, art demonstrations, unique attractions, and talent shows. A few tips: bring a sweater or light jacket as a day at the fair can run late into the evening, dogs and other pets are not allowed, bring cash – debit is usually not accepted at the gate or games. Check websites for advanced tickets at reduced rates.
3. Get off the Beaten Track. Get in touch with your inner green spirit at one of the 38 conservation areas in Southern Ontario which boasts 55 historical landmarks and heritage sites. One of the furtive sites is at the Charles Sauriol Conservation Area. It is a historic agricultural land adjacent to Backus Heritage Conservation Area is the site of the Long Point Region Conservation Authority’s Carolinian Forest Regeneration Project initiated in 1991. Experience an arboretum of tree species include Red Oak, Silver Maple, Sycamore, White Birch and Green Ash it is also a control area for scientific and educational study of natural regeneration and succession of natural habitat as it relates to the Carolinian Forest and Backus Woods in particular.
4. Discover Hidden Treasures in St. Jacobs Country – One of Southern Ontario’s favourite rural cultural experience which features unique crafts, antiques, horse-drawn trolley tours, and regional cuisine that bring to light a Mennonite history that is rich and lively especially at the local farmers market.
5. Get your Wild West Spirit Kickin’ – See the spectacular colours of the countryside on horseback. Shine up your boots, saddle up a stallion, and head out onto the open range. Imagine picturesque landscapes surrounded by hills and forests, or trotting through a babbling brook while out on the trail. Experience an overnight adventure or camping snuggled up to a cozy campfire. There are many treks available in duration and extent – what are you waiting for?
6. Climb to New Heights – Outdoor Rock Climbing. Challenge yourself on real cliffs 80 ft high. Visualize soaring vultures and breathtaking views while you ascend and rappel jagged rocks – equalize anchors, belay, and learn essential climbing knots under the careful coaching of skilled mentors. This vertical escapade is an adrenaline rush; guaranteed.
7. Breathe in the Exhilaration: Fly a Plane. Take control in the pilots seat manoeuvring an aircraft high above the earth.
10. Destroy Self-doubt as you Zip through a Catalina Forest. This jaw dropping experience will leave a lasting memory for sure. The splendour overlooking a World Biosphere will leave you breathless but nothing compares to a moonlight glow in the forest for an unforgettable venture. Listen for the howl of a coyote or a hoot from an owl as you careen 8 zip lines, cross 2 suspended sky-bridges, 14 platforms and a 40-foot rappel. Let the excitement begin.
