completely related, shouts out E.E. Knight, I started reading the Age of Fire series again and I did not quite know how to appreciate this book as a kid.

Got distracted this morning and started thinking about Meredith Ann Pierce's Firebringer Trilogy. All the characters are unicorns and I remember wanting to draw every single one of them.

But browsing the tags for it on here, I realize that there are a lot of folks who enjoy novels with animal protagonists, and haven't heard of the Age of Fire series by E.E. Knight. High fantasy from the dragon's perspective. I read these over and over when I was a late teen and into my early 20s, and I still highly recommend them. Maybe I should draw those characters too 🤔

My first project for this year is done! ❤️ I wanted to re-read and try my hand at painting the siblings from Age of Fire series by E.E. Knight again after many many years. Here they are! AuRon, Wistala and RuGaard.

Does anyone remember the Age of Fire series where one of the books had an editing fuck-up where one of the side characters got his name switched with one of the antagonist characters for like one singular sentence? Or am I just misremembering?

The Temeraire series by Naomi Novik (first book His Majesty's Dragon pictured here) remains one of my favorite book series of all time, and is definitely my favorite dragon based books. Highly recommend it!

There's also the Age of Fire series by E.E. Knight (though I can only recommend the first three books; I hated the last three in the series)

Listen, I grew up loving a certain book too. But especially in this day and age, you have to put your money where your mouth is.

I haven't read the *other* book, but when you live overseas and feel like you can't do much to help the oppressed, the least you can do is be smart about who you're giving supporting, whether it be authors or artists, companies or celebrities.
