Posted this update on Oct 12, I'm all over the place and haven't finished my reactions and thoughts but I will get them posted eventually. I apologize but sometimes it's hard for me to gather my thoughts in one place at one time.

Ok last post about Agatha All Along (maybe) but I wanna admire how the town just let Agatha do her curse bullshit for 3 years and even took care to deliver her groceries. Like the scene where Agnes yells in the library was real and Dotty just had to entertain her. When the chief told her to go home? Yeah that was probably real he just needed this senile woman to return home. Even Sharon/Hart was kind enough to gently remind her of her real name.

They probably thought Agatha tried to save them from Wanda and decided the least they could do was take care of their nosey and occasionally delusional neighbor.

Nah Rio is so real for her behaviour in ep. 8 because if the love of my life baddie ex wife told me to stop pursuing her and that she never wanted to see my face again, I too would instantly become absolutely bat shit crazy and descend into my full villain era busting the shit out of her house.

unreal that people can think rio did anything but love nicholas unconditionally

even IF they don't go down the route that she and agatha actually parented him together, he was still an extension of the love of her life. with agatha's blood running in his veins, how could she anything but treasure him?

seeing how fiercely protective rio is of agatha – i mean try imagining her with a smaller more vulnerable version of her. it must have absolutely broken her that she couldn't protect him and then on top of that she was tasked with sending him away 🥲

I just love how in ep 4 Rio gives Agatha a flower and later explains about her scar and Agatha is first like "No, you don't (have a scar)" and then Rio says "SHE is my scar" and Agatha walks away and Rio follows her and then in ep 5 Rio says that her mother can't have her. And in ep 7 Agatha first drops that line about "ask a straight lady" and then after the Rio reveal she says "I like the bad boys."

And all of these happen in front of everyone (except for the straight line but oh well).

Like, for us as viewers it's obvious what's going on but neither of them is hiding it from the Coven either.

They're really there like "Yeah, we've been together that way."

And. Nobody. Blinks. An. Eye.

ok I'm not done. I gotta say it. The show was never about Agatha and Rio. As much as I ADORE them and their chemistry and story we were never gonna get some huge lore drop about their relationship?? Like it's 9 episodes?? and it's MARVEL?? The lack of media literacy is showing i fear.

There's so much room to BUILD and CREATE their story it's actually such a gift in the long term. Maybe a couple more one off lines about their time together would have been cool but still?? Even the way Rio buries Agatha is so intentional and beautiful like their love for each other always shined, even through their vicious words. We don't NEED to know everything, I don't want someone hand hold through their entire relationship, actually. I like the gaps. I get to fill them in.

[initial reactions] Agatha All Along 1x06 - Family by my side

I know this episode isn't everyone's cup of tea. Still, I like it for its plot and worldbuilding and for helping me understand more of Teen, officially William Kaplan, aka Billy Maximoff.

I like they've significantly simplified Billy's whole backstory although the black heart thing makes me side-eye again.

I've always enjoyed seeing how the non-powered people of the MCU fare. Honestly, they seem like a bundle of nerves and anxiety, which is valid.

I love seeing the Kaplan parents are lovely and really love William.

Billy living his new second life, uncomfortable in his new body and a new identity. But also, finding some acceptance and comfort in the messy coven he found himself in.

In bullet form because there's a lot to get through:

I honestly loved that the whole coven met Billy/William before they formed a coven, almost like its fate.

So anyone else get a... Bad Wolf kind of feeling when Billy looked up Agatha? Very Immortal/Doctor who btw looking up an immortal.

The links that Billy was suddenly on to had a very... Bad Wolf type of clues where Agatha left breadcrumbs as a message to herself.

- the show dropping in all the casual lore that the show presented.

Very Doctor Who survives the epic disaster. I bet Rio was mad she missed Agatha during this.

So this one? This is the part where it starts feeling like the Bad Wolf clues to me. Breadcrumbs leading Agatha back to Agatha. Because I still feel like Agatha had a back-up plan and this was one of them. Triggering the back-up plan.

Our first look at Hexed!Agatha.

We don't see Rio, so either Rio isn't really there or she's in a different form than Agent Vidal.

But also: I'm calling it. The painting Agatha has is important somehow.

She keeps looking at the painting and that's where she saw Rio being. Agatha kept looking at the painting when she was confused:

And then Agatha touched it as Billy started chanting. Somehow, that painting is a touchstone.

Um, I missed this but the spellbook actually mentioned that Billy shouldn't attempt using it if the personal item the bonded person has, shared energy with someone else.

"Be careful not to use an item that shares energy with an additional person, or an item belonging to many."

So.

I feel the hair inside the Cameo/Broach may have some unforeseen consequences.

I really liked that Agatha was the one who rescued herself. She's like a cockroach. She's not gonna die, until she's good and ready to die and not before then. Just like my other beloved, Katherine Pierce.

Agatha was actually impressed and not angry with Billy for that maneuver but not above roasting him for being.... such a Maximoff. Overly dramatic, overly self-righteous.

But also she made sure that Billy did not feel ashamed for using his powers. Something I think she wished someone told her. For all of Billy's anger towards, I think he appreciated that Agatha accepted Billy as a Witch.

Agatha was also hurt by Billy's mistrust of her but covered it so quickly with snark and humor. What a sad clown.

TLDR, RIP Coat. We hardly knew ye!
