Ok I'mma vent this out at once and will try to not utter a word about this cursed night again. India deserved this cup, they really did. Because if there's been a team who performed the best and embodied the spirit and passion of cricket it's been India. They did their best from the very first game against Australia... Jaddu's wickets (especially Smith's), the top order collapse and King and Rahul's partnership winning us the game (also Rahul's 97). Then came Afghanistan and Bangladesh - Rohit's century, Virat in delhi (vs Naveen, their hug), Hardik's injury resulting in our dear Cheeku's bowling, KL refusing runs to complete Virat's century, Ro - Vi - Rah hug 🤌and ofc umpire not giving the wide. The Pakistan rivalry came into the tournament but our streak was saved when we defeated them 8 - 0. Then came the most dreaded match against New Zealand - Vi's missed century was definitely a sore spot but the revenge was completed. Shami being shami showing why you should not bench him with his fifer and Jaddu hitting the final runs to avenge Mahi Bhai. England and Sri Lanka were no match - they were destroyed by our balling - the only good thing was Gill's knock, Shreyas' century and ofc RohiRat hugs ✨. We made a Sri Lanka out of South Africa with the King getting a century on his b'day and destroyed Netherlands but the main part was Virat and Rohit taking wickets. Then came the semis against NZ and honestly the whole desiblr was scared as fuck bcz of our history but Revenge was taken... Kohli shattering all records and hitting his 50th century making us prouder than ever (anushka's kisses and bowing to the God Sachin will forever be remembered) and Shami's 7 wickets, like is there a way to stop Lalaji bcz I can't think of one (amd what's this 7 factor? 397 runs, all out at 327, won by 70 runs, shami taking 7 wickets ? tribute to Thala ig). But it all came down to this, we lost the finals... After all this we lost, 1.5 billion hearts are broken, the 12 year wait continues. But this tournament will never be forgotten, we laughed and we cried with our team and supported them at every step. We saw moments we'll never forget, we made memories seeing records being broken and our boys having the time of their lives, hugging and dancing on the field and being more excited for the mighty fielding medal than the actual match itself. So this tournament will forever be remembered. You'd expect me to say congratulations to Australia but no, they played well ofc but no team played cricket better than India... Just bcz this team didn't performed in one single match didn't mean that they didn't deserve to win this. Kohli gave all of his soul, Rohit made this team what it is and Shami gutted all his haters but sadly luck was not on our side. After winning all 10 matches our unbeaten streak got broken in the finals only. Yes I'm heartbroken to core but at the same time I'm bloody proud of our boys who gave everything they had, your heads should be held high. In my own delusional world India won this cup and not just team India but the whole country. In my mind we are the winners and the team got the prize for their blood, sweat and tears. You'll all be remembered forever as champions.

Allegedly this is where our taxes go. Surprisingly, insurance is the largest area. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's insurance for people in dire need. I know, as a federal employee, my insurance is $50 bi-weekly, and the other $100 of that is subsidized by taxpayers.
Social security is a big one, too, which is good because you need to be able to survive once you're past working age or unable to work. However, many people in politics today want to eliminate this, freeing up 1.4 trillion dollars or so annually, but also leaving something like 62 million people without benefits.
The first inexcusable number here is defense. 13% of generated taxes came out to 820 billion, according to the site I pulled this from. While I understand that a large amount of that is keeping people employed, that money also goes to things such as blowing up little brown kids the world over and building planes to the tune of 3 billion real American dollars only so some undertrained idiot can immediately crash it.
Economic security programs included things like SSI and food stamps and housing programs, and totals 545 billion. This seems wildly low when you look at stats on how many people utilize these benefits (from free lunch programs all the way up to the government paying your full rent), which show that upwards of 70% of the US partakes. In the next category down, 481 billion goes to supporting vets. Which is good. But every vet I know says the VA is bullshit, so I feel like that could be better utilized in the general "assistance" category so the Fed can't waste more money.
Now for the saddest two: Education and transportation. Education gets a measly 320bil. Which might sound like a lot. But that's funding for all schools across a massive country. Comparing that number to other, much smaller, countries shows that they spend about what we do, but with a fraction of the percentage of kids. Looking at numbers alone makes it look like the US is doing great; looking at numbers of students here vs New Zealand shows they are better taken care of. There's also the issue of how that money is spent, because it's clearly not going toward a good education. I've been a teacher. Schools are full of people who don't really want to teach and are there for summers off work, or people whose husband wanted them out of the house, and they don't care if your kid can actually read or not. "Gender ideology" isn't the issue in schools; it's Kamrin, 22, who just got her degree and has decided to watch TikTok at her desk and give your kids busywork instead of actually teaching them history. So yeah, there's money on education, but it's not going where it should go and it's not nearly enough.
128bil goes to transportation. Which is why the roads are shit and there are next to no trains and you're lucky to live in a city with a functioning bus line. A major bridge in my major city is closed indefinitely because it hasn't been properly taken care of since like 2004. We don't have busses with a reasonable schedule. Parts of the city have roads so torn up it feels like you're in a country with no budget for fixing roads. I've driven on rutted gravel roads that are more comfortable.
Anyway. The clear place to cut from is military spending. We do not need to be a "superpower" globally. Most of the world thinks we're a joke for that. I understand deploying people if there's a need (and want) for it. But why the hell do we think we have the power to keep people civil? As has been told to me from people I've worked with from places like Afghanistan, seeing American troops around only instills fear and hatred. It doesn't keep the peace. It creates radicals. Invest even a fraction of that money into education, into social safety nets, into transportation, and the country would be so much better. But instead we do this cool shit where we cut from other places to inflate the military budget, so it's all fucked.
The thing is lads I cannot think of a better use for my tax dollars than feeding children. I want my taxes to give the single mother of three healthcare. I want my taxes to take care of the elderly and the disabled. I don’t care if they’re citizens or legal residents or whatever. I want my taxes to help people. Because we’re trying to live in a goddamn society. Instead my taxes go towards bombing schools and hospitals and refugee camps. Billions and billions sent to proxy wars. And still people quibble over whether we should feed children. What are we doing here. Feed the kids.

India National Cricket Team Vs Afghanistan National Cricket Team Timeline
The India National Cricket Team's first game in the Super 8 round of the 2024 T20 World Cup will be on Thursday at the Kensington Oval in Barbados against Afghanistan. Team India is ready to play. They are in first place in Group A with seven points, earned from three wins and one tie with Canada. On the other hand, Afghanistan won three of their four Group C games, including a big 84-run win over New Zealand. Their only loss was to co-hosts West Indies, which was a big disappointment. India national cricket team vs Afghanistan national cricket team timeline Australia and Bangladesh have joined both teams in Group 1 of the Super Eight stage. England, the West Indies, South Africa, and the USA are in Group 2. At this time, the competition gets tougher and strategic plays start. Important Players And Plans Team Key Players Role Strategy India Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal Batting Possibly moving Kohli to No. 3, strengthening the batting Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal Bowling Focusing on spin bowling Afghanistan Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman Spin Bowling Utilizing spin to challenge India's top order India wants Virat Kohli to have a better event because he has only scored five runs in three games. If Yashasvi Jaiswal is added, it could change how the batters play, which could mean that Kohli moves to the No. 3 spot. The pitches in the Caribbean might be better for spinners, which means that Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal could play essential parts. Conversely, Afghanistan has a strong group of spin bowlers led by Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman, who could make it hard for India's top-order batters. Meetings And Records From The Past In eight T20Is, India and Afghanistan have played each other. India has a strong record, winning seven of the eight games. They had played each other before, and India won the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games because it was seeded higher. This year, India won an exciting Super Over match, and the final at the Asian Games was called off because of rain.
