Opinions on Thronè?

Oh, I adore her! She may not be the kindest person, but she tries her best, and that’s one of the things I love about her. She also never gives up. No matter what, she keeps trying, and that’s admirable. She’s strong, in more ways than one. Physically (which is hot as fuck), emotionally, and mentally. I can’t imagine having to deal with some of the things Thronè did, but she’s still fighting to this day, and it’s amazing.

She’s loyal, too. Once she gets to know you, she’ll protect you with her life. Like- scarily protective.

She’s also gorgeous. Her hair looks so soft... I want to mess with it. I wonder if she’d let me braid lavendar into her hair...

All in all, she’s amazing.

ok so i know i wrote the other post about rewriting throné's story and i put a crossed paths between her and osvald in it but im gonna be real i literally wrote that in 5min and am no longer happy with it so heres a version of it that incorporates the cloudy mirror. if i was gonna do this i would also definitely have to rewrite tem/now partitio's crossed paths if i did this but thats another post

Throné and osvald come across a washed-up corpse on the shore of the brightlands clutching a strange locked box. Throné recovers the box but cant get the lock open, osvald finds it strangely familiar and they agree to work together on trying to find out what it contains. After scrutinizing some townspeople osvald discovers that a scholar recently disappeared who he identifies as an old friend of his who was obsessed with religious relics and remembers that the seal on it means it has something to do with vitalists, a religious sect who believe that vide and aelfric are actually twin gods and that the church of the sacred flame has tried to depose vide in whats essentially a biblical succession battle, but that the scholar would have been the only person who really had the resources or motivation to learn anything else and any information would be in their workshop in montwise. Throné says she honestly cannot tell if theyve gotten their hands on something very valuable or complete junk. Osvald says that’s most of what being a scholar is, and throné jokes that actually being a thief isn’t too different

they arrive in montwise and osvald finds the scholars hidden workshop has been ransacked. They deduce that this happened within a few hours and decide to try and find the culprit. Throné recognizes a blacksnake and is immediately like. Oh… This idiot. She reveals it’s scaracci, a blacksnake who is both lazy and incompetent but treasured by Mother for being so mindlessly loyal that he’ll do literally any job, although he might not… yknow… succeedat it. scaracci is pissed and reveals that he did successfully recover what mother asked him to steal even if he did kinda sorta mess up a little on the job in new delsta, osvald mugs him and recovers the key to the box, which turns out to contain a strange, cloudy mirror. Throné wonders why the hell a blacksnake was tasked with retrieving this and assassinating a weird religious scholar, leading osvald to ask if the blacksnakes have any religious investments she knows of. Throné says that Mothers orphanage is actually officially associated with the Sacred Flame and staffed by nuns(one assumes they’re Just registered as an orphanage and the “running a school for your indentured thief-child-gang” is unofficial), but thieves generally only worship the one god. Osvald is like hmm. You know, my scholar associate was always very interested by aeber, especially the theory that he was originally the god of kindness who was demoted for insisting on sympathizing with and helping criminals condemned by the church. Throné is like ah, like you and i. osvald pauses and then is like…. Yes. Like you and i.

Alternatively if you want to have her already have realized the blacksnakes are connected to vide since it could be completed after her chapter 5, you could have her say that and simply speculate about how the blacksnakes meant to use the mirror, I just think it’s lame to have throné be connected to a completely different god than her patron and not do Anything with that, so he at least gets a mention and also this allows that thing where osvald and throné are both criminals against their will to also be at least said once

how they meant to use the mirror is that ori hired them. Her investigations led her to figuring out that the mirror can be used to change flames of vide to flames of aelfric and vice versa so she wanted it out of the picture completely lest some travelers hypothetically use it to undo a century’s worth of work in about an hour. Hypothetically.

She found this out from harvey which preserves their working relationship and allows the structure of the leadup to their torch to be mostly the same.

How fareth Alfyn? He maye very well be the one to readen thee this letter, as I knowen that mine dialect be difficult to understanden and to readen at times for those who haile frome outside the Darkwood. I prayen that the people of Clearbrook be all in good health, as I well trusten them to be under his care and that of friend Zeph. Alfyn, on thine next expedition, praye maken a visit to us in the Darkwood on thy way. We would all much enjoyen to seen thee and Therion, should he choosen to come with thee againe.

If the Octopath 1 gang had latent powers like in 2 , what would they be?

ok here’s what me and my gf came up with:

Ophilia: Holy Aid

3-skill latent:

1: Overheal: casts Heal more with overhealth potential

2: Ward: give elemental defense and reflect to all allies. the number of elemental defense turns rises with boost, but it will only grant one stack of reflect no matter the boost.

3: Rise again: give the rise again status to a number of allies proportional to boost

Charge time: Slow

Cyrus: Refocus

Sp refill + overflow (restores cyrus’s max sp pool, example: if he uses it at 50/300 sp, he will have 350 sp)

Charge time: Fast

Tressa: Call Favor

Forces next instance of damage to solo-target him, even if it’s a spread move, and grants him damage reduction based on BP used. He then deals damage proportional to the damage taken (before reduction)

All enemies targeted by therion’s next action are also afflicted with shackle foe and armor corrosive, triggering before his selected action and lasting a number of turns proportional to boost.

we decided to give 2 characters the hikari/ochette special of having 3 unique skills, but making them unique so otherwise we tried not to repeat any. for ophilia we figured some standard supportive effects would be good.

for cyrus he definitely has a big problem especially earlygame managing sp, so we gave him a simpler one. i imagine if we came up with some ex skill, this could be more relevant endgame by combining with a temenos-style nuke skill.

Tressa: another one that can def fall off if you grind money, but absurdly powerful earlier. honestly even in ch4 veteran mercenaries can be steep, so it’ll stay relevant for a while

Olberic: wanted to play into his wall-defensive capabilities, so this can be used if a boss purple smoke big attack is coming to save you from that situation if you have no other options. the counter makes him feel more like a duelist than a wall i hope. the counter attack triggers as a separate instance like an eye for an eye does

Primrose: wanted to give her a throne type extra action, but didn’t wanna use the same powers. instead she gets a third action but is limited to dancing, but you could use this when you need to get up multiple buff types, like speed and attack boosting therion for an aebers, or being able to lion dance your physical attackers and peacock strut your elemental ones.

Alfyn: also gave him the three unique actions with different concoct based support effects, gave him the helpful heal/cure status combo for free, and then utility he doesn’t have in ot1 with the whimsical leaf effect and the ability to mass cleanse debuffs and buffs

im also not as familiar with concoct in ot1 as its a bit less easy to understand without the castti explanation menu so hopefully none of that is redundant.

Therion: lets you not have to choose between shackle and corrosive and allows for multi target. it is limited to his target, but the multi target can be applied with aebers reckoning, or subclass skills like spells or arrowstorm.

H’aanit: provoke in 1 is dookie from a butt so give her opportunities to use it more by not losing your monsters as fast. plus, you can use more of them so that’s fun.

kinda wanna give them OT2 style EX skills next…..

Here’s a fight for female Bifelgan, does anyone agree with me?

The gender of the travelers are both balanced. It makes sense for the pantheon to reflect this (minus the gods cast away).

The only two gods who’s gender doesn’t correspond to their first traveler are Aelfric (male, Ophilia is female) and Dohter (mostly referred to as female, Alfyn is male).

To keep the number of male and female gods balanced, Bifelgan is more likely female.

Besides, I prefer the Trader as a title since it’s more on the nose. We have the Sage (knowledge) and the Prince of thieves (thievery), it makes sense for the Trader title to belong to Bifelgan. Controversely, if I were to see the “gentleman count” out of context, I’d think that it was a title for Aeber. Gentleman Count doesn’t refer to trading or merchantry at all.

I forgot to mention that I got Aeber's Reckoning for Throné recently, and since then I have been going wild with it. I got 2 Aeber's Reckonings off on Throné's Ch 3 boss and like 5 or 6 on Temenos's lmao. She was the one to defeat both of them and yes it was absolutely worth all the plums I had to feed her to make it possible.
