I have wonderful, exciting Christmas movie news! A new actress is joining Great American Family! I have been hoping this actress, who is incredibly talented, might join this channel.
Coming THIS CHRISTMAS we will see Actress, Singer, and Broadway performer, Laura Osnes (One Royal Holiday, Christmas in Tahoe) in an all-new holiday movie for Great American Christmas!
Laura is currently filming her Christmas movie and shared a behind the scenes look of herself as a team of ladies work on her hair and makeup.
Tumblr media
Laura Osnes included the caption, "So grateful to start my mornings with these ladies, who truly brighten & set my mood for the entire day. The constant care and artistry it takes to keep my straight hair curled and my face from melting on these 12-hr, 90-degree days is beyond. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes magic of our new @gactv Christmas movie."
Also spotted on set (playing the card game, Uno, between scenes) are actors Adam Jackson (AJ) Hurtig and Amy Groening. AJ starred in Snowmance, and both he and Amy Groening co-starred in Project Christmas Wish, 'Tis the Season to be Merry, and Francesca Quinn, PI. Both have starred in many other rom-coms, as well.
Tumblr media
I sure hope Laura Osnes, who is such an amazing, beautiful singer, will have the opportunity to sing in this new Christmas movie.

Tumblr media
Erin Agostino (Cider and Sunsets) also recently revealed on social media that she's currently filming something new for GAF, too.
*Please note: the image above is from IMDB and not from her new movie.
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Danica McKellar shared a cute picture on set of her movie with her hair up - because it's so hot while they are filming. I'm sure she and her mystery co-star will act like it's freezing.
Tumblr media
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Paul Greene (not sure if his movie is for sure for GAF, yet.) is still filming his Christmas movie. He shared an outdoor set pic with his followers.
Tumblr media
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Dan Payne (Christmas on Candy Cane Lane) is also currently filming a Christmas movie. Also, like Paul, I don't have any confirmation, yet, that it is for GAF.

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Susie Abromeit's Christmas film for Great American Family, Designing Christmas, has wrapped, but she recently shared these delightful images...

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Jen Lilley also continues to share lovely images from behind the scenes of her Great American Family movie, Paris Christmas Waltz, from Paris!

🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎
Jessica Lowndes and Trevor Donovan have shared plenty of videos and pictures from the set of their upcoming Great American Family Fall-themed movie, Apples, Orchards, and Romance. Here are some of the images that I've captured...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Well, that's all for today!
I'm also aware of another Christmas movie coming to GAF, but I learned this news from other sources, and I don't feel like it's right to share until the actors involved or Great American Family has the opportunity to share. Stay tuned! It looks like another great one!

US OPEN 9-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP RETURNS TO MANDALAY BAY RESORT AND CASINO APRIL 13 – 18, 2020
Tumblr media
LAS VEGAS (JUNE 26, 2019)
The US Open 9-Ball Championship will return to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Convention Center April 13 – 18, 2020.
The 44th staging of the billiards major will see Joshua Filler as defending champion as promoters Matchroom Multi Sport build on the success of their maiden US Open, which saw sold-out crowds, record TV ratings and a full field of 256 players – one of the strongest line-ups ever essembled.
Ticket details and player entry information will be available in due course at matchroompool.com.
Barry Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman, said, “I am thrilled that we will bring the US Open 9-Ball Championship back to Mandalay Bay next spring.
“Our first year promoting this great, historic event was a phenomenal success, and that is thanks to the players and fans who came out to support the sport. We had over 100 players on the waiting list, on top of the 256 field we had and we achieved some really impressive viewing figures on Sky Sports and our global broadcast partners, so the game is in good health and is going to go from strength to strength.
Tumblr media
“We were live to over 130 countries around the world who watched great pool from the City of Entertainment, and we had 47 different nations represented. As an opening year event for us it ticked a lot of boxes but the good news is we are not complacent and we can make this event bigger and even more exciting.
“Those who came in 2019 know how special this event is and we promise it will be event better in 2020. If you didn’t come in 2019 you missed out, so make sure you book your seats for 2020 because this is going to be another sold-out event.”
The 2019 US Open 9-Ball Championship saw Filler cement his position as the World No. 1 by beating China’s Wu Jiaqing 13-10 in front of a sold-out crowd of 700 pool fans at Mandalay Bay to win the Barry Behrman Trophy.
The double elimination stage of the event was broadcast free on the US Open Facebook page, with the live stream viewed over 2 million times. When the tournament moved to single elimination and onto the global TV stage, over 130 countries aired the live broadcast, including DAZN in countries such as the United States and Germany, Sky Sports in the UK and CCTV in China.

Deeply under cut dolostone matrix means a softer make up than the overlying top member, in this case the top is also dolostone.
Chalet Nivale is a strange matrix of karstland located in upper Adams county.
Peebles Dolomite overlies Lilley Formation and underlies Greenfield Dolomite, Hillsboro Sandstone, or Ohio Shale in southern OH. These are Silurian aged features and can be seen throughout Adams county. In Shawnee state park the sandstone formations can be seen at times at the tops of the hills and are immediately noticeable due to changes in flora. Highland county gorge systems are also subject to peebles dolostone and the same underlying and overlying chossy karst. Due to the weathering of Peebles dolostone, many calcific species can inhabit pockets along the walls or live in the calcium rich soil. Sullivant’s cool wort and Walter’s violet are both examples of calcicole(, calciphyte, calciphile,   or karst obligate species.)
I visit this place around February each year multiple times to see one other early blooming species called snow trillium. Chalet Nivale was originally purchased due to the largest population of Trillium nivale in Ohio. It was a good thing too; cave salamanders and Ohio ravine salamanders, many rare species of fish, and other extremely unique plants occur here. The two feeder creeks to the scioto brush creek water shed that are found here are the two cleanest streams in Ohio. In the United States they are also pretty up there which is mind blowing considering mountain streams are known to be extremely clean coming from springs. Perhaps it’s the lack of turbulence and turbidity at this site compared to that found in head waters.

Dr. Harold Shipman was an English GP who killed over 250 people since the 1970s. He finished when he got arrested in 1998 and was convicted in 2000. He mostly targeted elderly woman and was also convicted for forgery. Shipman had many issues but nobody knows why he started, some believe that it was due to his domineering mother causing issues in some of his relationships as a teen.
Tumblr media
Shipman killed his patients through overdoses of injections and tablets or heroine, morphine or pain killers. He was originally convicted for 15 murders on the 1st degree and forgery. He got given life in prison and 4 years for forgery. In the trial Shipman revealed that he enjoyed killing and said some disturbing things about some of his patients. He was originally on trial for the murder of these 15 women: Marie West, 81, March 1995, Irene Turner, 67, July 1996, Lizzie Adams, 77, February 1997, Jean, Lilley, 58, April 1997, Ivy Lomas, 63, May 1997, Muriel Grimshaw, 76, July 1997, Marie Quinn, 67, November 1997, Laura Kathleen Wagstaff, 81, December 1997, Bianka Pomfret, 49, December 1997, Norah Nuttall, 64, January 1998, Pamela Marguerite Hillier, 68, February 1998, Maureen Alice Ward, 57, February 1998, Winifred Mellor, 73, May 1998, Joan May Melia, 73, June 1998, Kathleen Grundy, 81, June 1998.

He was originally suspicious as a local undertaker realised his patients were dyeing at an unusually high rate, and after an autopsy they discovered that it was indeed a murder.

Harold Frederick Shipman was born January 14th 1946. Shipman was an English general practitioner, and is believed to be the most prolific serial killer in history along with being the only doctor in British history to be found guilty of and sentenced for murdering a patient.
This is his story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shipman was born in Nottingham, England. The man was the second of the three children to the parents of Harold Frederick Shipman and Vera Brittan.
Shipman was very close to his mother Vera, who died of lung cancer on June 21st 1963, when Shipman was only 17 years old.
On November 5th 1966, Shipman married Primrose May Oxtoby. They had four children together.
Shipman studied medicine at Leeds School of Medicine, graduating in 1970.
Soon after Shipman began to work at Pontefract General Infirmary in Pontefract, and took his first position as a general practitioner (GP) at the Abraham Ormerod Medical Centre in Todmorden in the year 1974.
In 1975, Shipman was caught forging prescriptions of the drug pethidine (Demerol) for his own use, which he was fined £600 for. Shipman attended a drug rehabilitation clinic in York for a brief amount of time after this.
Shipman later became a GP at the Donneybrook Medical Centre in 1977. He worked as a GP at Donneybrook throughout the 1980s, and later began his own surgery in 1993 at 21 Market Street. Shipman became a well-respected member of the community, being interviewed in 1983 in a documentary World in Action, where he discussed how mentally-ill persons should be treated in the community.
In March of 1998, Linda Reynolds of the Donneybrook Surgery, prompted by Deborah Massey from Frank Massey and Sons funeral parlour, spoke of their concerns to John Pollard, the coroner for the South Manchester District. She was concerned about the particularly high death rate among Shipman's patients, the large number of cremation forms for elderly women that he had needed countersigned in particular.
After Linda Reynolds spoke up, the matter was brought to the attention of the police. Police were unable to find sufficient evidence to press charges against Shipman, which was later said to be the fault of the police for assigning inexperienced officers to the investigation. Between April 17th 1988 (When the investigation was abandoned) and Shipman's arrest on September 7th 1998, Shipman killed 3 more people.
Several months later following the police failing to find evidence against Shipman, John Shaw, aHyde taxi driver, contacted the police with the claim that he suspected Shipman of murdering twenty-one of his patients.
Shipman's final victim was Kathleen Grundy, an 81 year-old widow who was found dead in her home on June 24th 1998. Shipman was the last person to see her alive, and he later signed her death certificate, recording "old age" as the cause of death. Grundy's daughter, lawyer Angela Woodruff, became concerned when solicitor Brian Burgess informed her that a will had been made, apparently by her mother, raising doubts about its authenticity. The will excluded Woodruff and her children, but left £386,000 to Shipman, which caused suspicions to grow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Woodruff went to the police to report the strange and suspicious occurrences, which then began an investigation once again.
Grundy's body was exhumed and when examined, was found to contain traces of diamorphine (heroin), a drug that was often used for pain control in terminal cancer patients. When questioned about this find, Shipman claimed that she was an addict, and showed them comments he had written to that effect in his computerised medical journal. Examination of his computer, however, revealed that the journal entries had been written after Grundy's death. He was arrested on September 7th 1998, and it was found that he owned a Brother typewriter, which was the same type used to make the forged will.
Following this, police investigated the other deaths Shipman had certified, creating a list of fifteen potential cases to investigate, although it was believed that his kill count was much higher. They discovered a pattern of his administering lethal doses of diamorphine, signing patients' death certificates, and then falsifying medical records to indicate that they had been in poor health.
Shipman's trial began at Preston Crown Court on October 5th 1999. Shipman was charged with the murders of Marie West, Irene Turner, Lizzie Adams, Jean Lilley, Ivy Lomas, Muriel Grimshaw, Marie Quinn, Kathleen Wagstaff, Bianka Pomfret, Norah Nuttall, Pamela Hillier, Maureen Ward, Winifred Mellor, Joan Melia and Kathleen Grundy, all by lethal injections of diamorphine between 1995 and 1998.
On 31 January 2000, after six days of deliberation, the jury found Shipman guilty of fifteen counts of murder and one count of forgery. Shipman was sentenced to life imprisonment on all fifteen counts of murder, with a recommendation that he never be released, to be served alongside a sentence of four years for forging Grundy's will.
On February 11th 2000, ten days after his conviction, the General Medical Council formally struck Shipman off its register.
Shipman consistently denied his guilt, disputing the scientific evidence against him. He never made any public statements about his actions. Shipman's wife, Primrose, steadfastly maintained her husband's innocence, even after his conviction.
Shipman hung himself in his cell at Wakefield Prison at 06:20 on 13 January 2004, on the eve of his 58th birthday, and was pronounced dead at 08:10. A statement indicated that Shipman had hanged himself from the window bars of his cell using bed sheets.
And that is the end of the Story of Harold Frederick Shipman, the man rumored to be one of the most prolific serial killers along with being the only doctor in British history to have been convicted of murdering a patient.

268 Directors and the end of the blog
This post marks the end of the Ask a Director experiment. I’m so grateful to all who have contributed, supported and engaged with it over the past six and a half years.
This blog was started at a time when I felt incredibly alone in the directing field. I had always been taught that a director operates solo, that it was a lonely career and above all, it was based on scarcity. This was a style of working and living that didn't fit for me. I wanted to talk to other directors about their practice and thoughts about the field, both national and international. This blog was started as a way to connect, to uplift other directors and to create a conversation about the changing field and practices.
It's surpassed all of these goals and brought me more joy than I can name.
I'm now at a moment where my practice and advocacy are taking different and exciting paths and it's time for me to put this site to bed. I remain committed to uplifting other directors, to talking about the practice, to flattening hierarchies, to opening doors for new ways of working, and leading rehearsal rooms, companies, and classrooms away from silos and vacuums. Featuring these 268 different directors was just the beginning.
I encourage you all to hire them (and others), advocate for them (and others) and choose to work in a system that values connection and generosity.

REINCARNATION OF POOL MAJOR BEGINS IN VEGAS
Tumblr media
The 43rd partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship broke off at Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas on Sunday as a 256-player field of the world’s elite pool players began their quest to land one of billiard’s biggest titles.
The reincarnation of one of pool’s oldest majors, now promoted by Matchroom Multi Sport, began at 9am with 33 tables breaking in unison. Among the first to move to the winners’ side of the tournament was reigning champion Jayson Shaw, who got his tournament off to the perfect start with an 11-0 dismantling of German Marcus Westen. Later in the day Shaw defeated fellow Brit Tom Staveley while American No.1 Shane van Boening is also still going on the winners’ side as is the tournament’s highest-racked female player, Siming Chen of China. But there were a wave of early casualties as seeded players including previous US Open Champions Mika Immonen and Kevin Cheng fell into the losers’ side of the tournament. World Pool Masters winner David Alcaide and Mosconi Cup winners Skyler Woodward and Tyler Styer also have just one life left in this double elimination format and must now win eight consecutive matches to make the last-16 stage of the event.

The tournament feature table, streamed live at Facebook.com/USOpen9Ball, ended with a classic between two American legends as Dennis Hatch and Earl Strickland battled out a hill-hill thriller before The Hatchetman delivered a decisive blow to knock ‘The Pearl’ over to the losers’ side of the brackets. Play continues at 9am local time on Tuesday. The US Open is split into two stages with the full field playing double elimination down to the final 16 from Sunday, April 21 until Tuesday April 23. From Wednesday April 24 until Friday April 26 the final 16 players will play straight knockout in the Diamond Arena with global television coverage including Sky Sports and DAZN. All matches at the partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship are race to 11, winner breaks, except the final which is race to 13. The draw and match schedule for the first stage of the tournament is available now at www.matchroompool.com. Players are playing for their share of a $300,000 tournament purse. The winner will take home $50,000, the famous US Open green jacket and the newly-commissioned Barry Behrman trophy. Tickets for the 43rd partypoker US Open 9-Ball Championship are still available at www.matchroompool.com from as little as $10 with VIP packages also available for the final three days of the tournament.

Dr. Death | True Crime

Dr. Death, a doctor and a serial killer between the mid 70′s and the late 90′s.
Tumblr media
Harold Shipman, better known as Dr. Death, was an English doctor and is believed to be the most prolific serial killer in history with a count of 215 confirmed and identified victims and 250 victims in total.
Harold Shipman studied medicine at Leeds School of Medicine and graduated in 1970. He got his first job as a Doctor, General Practitioner, in 1974 at the Abraham Ormerod Medical Centre in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. He got his second job in 1977 at the Donneybrook Medical Center in Hyde.
It is stated that all of his murders had started in 1975, although at that time there were no detections of murder in his patients that passed away because most of them were already elderly and ill. His murders were not detected until 1998 when he murdered his last victim, Kathleen Grundy. Kathleen Grundy was found dead in her home on June 24, 1998, shortly after Harold Shipman had paid her a visit. Harold Shipman had signed her death certificate and claimed she had died of old age, but Kathleen’s daughter was concerned since her mother was not ill and was in good health at the time of the visit. It was also concerning that in Kathleen Grundy’s will she left nothing to her children, but left £386,000 to Harold Shipman. When the family solicitor was brought in he reported the will to the police who started an investigation.
In this investigation Kathleen Grundy’s body was exhumed and put through an autopsy because Harold Shipman never sent her for an autopsy. When the autopsy results were in they found traces of heroin, a type used for pain control in patients with cancer at that time, in her system. Harold Shipman then tried to claim that Kathleen was an addict and tried to prove this by showing them his entries about Kathleen in his medical journal. In time those entries were proved to be written after she had died.
Harold Shipman was arrested on September 7, 1998. He was found to have made a fake will for Kathleen Grundy using a typewriter to gain her money after he murdered her. Police also took the investigation further than Kathleen Grundy. The police had looked into the other death certificates that Harold Shipman had signed and found that he had murdered them as well, giving them lethal doses of deadly medications and adding fake medical records to try to make it look as if the patients had been in poor health before his murders, as if they died of old age and natural causes.
After being arrested Harold Shipman’s trial took over a year to begin. His trial began on October 5, 1999. Harold Shipman was charged with several murders between 1995 and 1998. The Victims: Marie West, Irene Turner, Lizzie Adams, Jean Lilley, Ivy Lomas, Muriel Grimshaw, Marie Quinn, Kathleen Wagstaff, Bianka Pomfret, Norah Nuttall, Pamela Hillier, Maureen Ward, Winifred Mellor, Joan Melia and Kathleen Grundy all by lethal injections of diamorphine. He was finally found guilty by a jury on January 31, 2000 of all 15 murders and one count of forgery for Kathleen Grundy’s will. Mr Justice Forbes sentence Harold Shipman to life imprisonment with no chance of release and four years for forging Kathleen Grundy’s will.
After Harold’s conviction, he was incarcerated at Wakefield Prison in West Yorkshire, England. He stayed there until he committed suicide on January 13, 2004, which was the day before his 58th birthday. He had hanged himself from the window bars of his cell using his bedsheets.
Harold Shipman is told to be the only Doctor in British medicine to be found guilty of murdering his patients. Over the years of investigation, they found 215 confirmed victims and believe his total victim count is 250. Most of his victims were elderly women over the age of 65 although his youngest confirmed victim of the 215 count was a 41-year-old male. Although these are the confirmed victims, there are rumors that there is unconfirmed victims that are younger than 41 but there is no current proof. The interesting thing about the possible 250 count is that he had 459 patients die while under his care, but again it isn’t confirmed who was an actual murder victim or was generally ill since these were said to be between 1971 and 1998. It seems no one will ever know the true amount, but to those victims we pay our respects to their tragic deaths.
