Just a what if Acylius

(a character I'll just put into any universe now because reasons and he does have a humanoid form)

Had been lounging in the Lake of the dead

And rescued Raziel, Acylius is also a Legion demon but not in the sense of biblical terms, extremely powerful but also not invincible, after all, immortal does not equate invincible.

Anyway back to the work at hand, this took two weeks and no the water marks will not be removed , I've had work stolen and reposted before, so no just no.

Raziel is absolutely one of my favourites, if he wasn't you think I'd spend two weeks on a comic like this ha ha.....no I'm too tired to even usually draw like this, it's taken me a few weeks to finally decide to post this.

Acylius quickly sat Amadeus on one of the seating rims of the stone tree stump, if he’d known Amadeus couldn’t swim he’d never have used his magic...or otherwise to toss him in like that.

He searched him over, his hands now were so massive that Amadeus’s head more than

Easily fit into the dip of his palm, the man was a mass of feathers and a looming shadow in comparison, his fingers pressed gently against Amadeus’s lips and glowed, drawing out what water that had made it into his lungs, he made sure to be extremely careful. It had been a long time since someone had found him and he’d had to make use of his skills as a doctor.

When the smaller being gasped he let out a sigh of relief after all he’d never had to tend to someone of Amadeus’s species before, not because he wouldn’t have but there wasn’t much known about his kind and none of them had ever come to him for help before, by the time he’d ever had to tend to one was because he was told to do an autopsy on whatever remains there were.

He stared at Amadeus a moment, running a hand over him and finding his heart beat he felt each one, a peculiar unusual rhythm that he found fascinating.

Amadeus stared up at him, his eyes wide, there he was, Lord Acylius Flug, the creature who had disappeared, believed dead, it really was him, this being had been practically a legend three hundred years ago, only a statue in the town where he’d come from and a few books in the library. His statue with its spread wings and arms held out in a position that showed he was ready to carry you anywhere had been his shelter, even on the coldest nights, curled up between its feet it had radiated warmth.

Now he was here being looked over by him, looked after by him, so far if he was honest Acylius was nothing like he’d imagined him...and he found he didn’t mind...but on the other hand...

“Are you crazy, you threw me in there without even knowing I could swim, with my clothes on which are now water logged, are you completely out of your mind!”

Hat snapped, folding his arms and huffing at him, still trying to hide the slight blush, maybe he thought he looked rather fetching in this form but he wasn’t going to say that, especially after what he’d just done and he’d told Acylius already he wasn’t a fanatic, he didn’t want him getting the wrong idea.

He did look though when Acylius pulled back a little and even though he couldn’t see the awkward smile due to the angle of his now avian features he could see the somewhat guilty smile with how those four black eyes creased.

Watching as Acylius worried his hands a little only to spread out his hands and sheepishly say

“Tadaaa I uh , guess you got to see my bird form after all...I am sorry for doing that though, I really should have asked the fault is entirely mine.”

Amadeus had been on the verge of replying when he saw Acylius continue to rise to the surface, a moment ago he’d seen only his head and shoulders, the rest was submerged in water until Acylius was standing on the waters surface.

Amadeus’s heart skipped a beat as Acylius kept his gaze on him....

Black Hat learned the statue was in fact far smaller than the man himself, swallowing thickly he wondered what was about to happen, wincing and shielding himself as Acylius bowed and gently took one small hand.

“Allow me to introduce myself properly, it is the least I can do after being so rude and putting your life in possible danger. My name is Lord Acylius Flug, retired doctor and Legion demon, though personally for you if you have ailments I will do my best to attend to them though I know very little about your kind...”

Amadeus knew that already but hearing it from him, and how he held himself, he could see why others had been drawn to him, of course the first thing out of his mouth was

“Are you holy, you’re walking on water?”

He wanted to throw himself back in the water and stay at the bottom, so of course he was surprised when he heard the Legion laughing warmly

“On the contrary my fellow, I am half human and half demon, the very real sad case of such a thing is , I will die of old age, but not by human standards, thankfully frailty has not found me yet, though I suppose holiness simply depends perhaps on what you consider divine...”

Placing a hand upon Amadeus’s Hat he blessed him with the ability for the time being to sink as deep as he wanted into the water and breathe under it if he so wished.

“You will not drown now, but if you don’t remove your clothing I can’t exactly tend to you with the deep massage you’re clearly in need of.”

Hat was trembling all over, not from fear, but the magic he’d felt coursing through him, it was similar to the warmth the statue gave off, it made him realize in a way Acylius had never left the people of the town.

“You...you did something to your statue so people could find comfort in it, not to give them what they wanted but what they needed...from the heart.”

“You’re the first one in all these years to figure that out you know...so let me make you a different offer for allowing you to stay...

Insektober day 21: Reimagine (sorry its late lol)

It's the middle of winter. Staurolite stirs from his hibernation and looks around in the dark, sheet-covered room. No one else is awake. He pushes aside one of the sheets draped over the wall, silently exiting the room to take a walk. It's night time outside, and the ground is blanketed in snow. So this is what it looks like, Staurolite thinks. He glances through the arches separating the inside of the school from the cold outside world, shadows passing over him as he walks down the hallway in hopes to tire himself out. He sees another gem standing in the hall, just as surprised to see him as he is to see her! It's Lepidolite.

"What are you doing out here? Could you not sleep either?" He asks.

Lepidolite seems puzzled for a moment, but answers, "Ah? No."

"Um. Are you okay?" Staurolite asks, glancing down at Lepidolite's worn hands, the powder gradually fading off them.

"Fine! I just... wanted to see the snow. It's beautiful in this moonlight, isn't it?"

"Yeah... how's your outfit doing that?"

"Doing what?"

"It's so shiny it looks like light! Mine's just plain fabric."

"Don't be so harsh. Your gown's prettier than mine, and mine only shines sometimes!"

"Oh. Um. Thank you," Staurolite stammers, flattered.

"You should head back to sleep, I think."

"... When will I see you again?"

Lepidolite seems taken aback by the question. "Hey, don't worry about that okay? I have my job and you have yours. For now our meeting is a secret; the other gems can't know we were awake during hibernation! That's why I think you should go back now."

"What about you?"

"I'll be fine, I just want to watch the stars a moment longer."

Lepidolite is Aelia and Staurolite is Max! Lepidolite resides on the Moon with Fire Opal and his Lunarian friends, while Staurolite is an Earth gem that doesn't quite know where he belongs.

Today's drawing is surprisingly not a screenshot redraw, just a fake screenshot! I experimented with some texture brushes and glowy effects for this one, and also primarily drew it on streams. It's fun! I think I draw faster when ppl are watching me ngl. Though, it did take me a stupidly long amount of time to figure out the star brush I was supposed to use was literally "Spray" on CSP. Aka one of the default brushes that r RIGHT THERE in the airbrush category lmao.

Insektober day 8: Film Style (Horror)!

I always knew I wanted to draw something horror-themed for today, but I didn't know what it would be... I chose to parody Carrie in the end cuz the blood spill scene is horrifying but in a more sorta psychological way... and it is very easily translated into Insektors as I draw it!

As you may be able to deduce from the Koal Juice spilled everywhere... I don't want to veer into gore territory with my insektors art! I think with Insektors there's a lot more ways I can convey fear while also keeping it pg --or at least, the kind of pg you might see on an 80's/90's era film like Labyrinth or Antz. Antz is actually a huge inspiration for my insektors work if you can believe that! That movie is SO fucked up btw. good grief.

ramblings abt Carrie under the cut, since I'm thinking about it! warning for dysphoria i guess???

I know Carrie is kinda infamous for its theme of menstruation & that being tied to the horror of the story, though I actually find that idea compelling as a trans man--I think the idea of menstrual horror is interesting and frightening in concept, but I think it usually falls flat cuz its mostly like, cisgender men writing about it, and they don't really 'get it'. And then on the other hand I think its simply not well explored cuz your average woman just doesn't find that sort of thing scary at all lol-- how could they when it's just a mundane and normal thing that happens every month? And that is valid.

It is scary to me personally because its uncontrollable and its essentially your body betraying you once every month, or worse, just completely randomly ! It's the lack of control over your body and your life that gets me I think. less like "lol isnt it scary women have periods" and more "isnt it scary that your body does this thing that hurts you and destroys you and you have no way of stopping it". Maybe we should have more transmasc authors writing horror? or maybe I've been looking in the wrong places and there are a shit ton I have never heard of!! Maybe both!

sorry abt going on a long rant on a post abt funny bugs! also, did you know drawing dripping fluids is very difficult for me? it is! I like the second panel more than the first because the koal juice arrangement (??????) feels more realistic to me. Anyways im taggigng this with spcopophobia cuz I drew Aelia's eyes kinda scary in that second panel. I will take any opportunity to draw a character with scary eyes LOL.

This drawing is based off the aftermath of the episode Klose EnKounters. Alex, Flynn and Max return to the flowered city to watch the rest of Elmo's performance. For the best view, Alex and Max sat on a flower stem with the latter watching the fireflies flying in awe.
