Insektober day 2: Garden!

It may surprise you to know Krud City has its own garden! Of course, it must be self sufficient in order to ensure its citizens don't go hungry! Though, it's a lot different than Flowered City's gardens. The Kruds only grow microgreens, potatoes, wild onions, and rice, as anything more is seen as fanciful and decadent, and therefore a waste of the limited space the citadel can provide.

Akane and Kaboche offer helping hands in the garden by planting and watering a new bed of sprouts! They aren't carreer gardeners, they just help out when they feel like it. I could talk for AGES abt Krud n Verigreen culture ngl it is SO fucking fun I missed this sm LOL

Like last year's there are some returning prompts. There is a few prompts that I want to explain.

Story Arc - There are four arcs in Insektors. I did come up with fanmade names for each of them. Planet Origins (The Escape and The Black Planet), Lost Secrets (Godfrey's Secret, Krud Confession and Sick at Heart), The Virus (Epidemic and The Cure) and Under Depths (A Spektre Calls and The Cave). In this prompt, the drawing must be based on the arc-themed episodes.

Reverse - AU related. The AU is simply if the Kruds and Verigreens switch sides. The Kruds are on the good side and are called Buds who defend their flowery forest from intruders and take care of the prism and The Verigreens are on the bad side and are called The Veriglooms, a group of rebels who live in a landfill with thorns.

Celebration - This will be themed around celebrating the 30th anniversary of the series.

Insektober 2024 Day 31 - Halloween

Happy Halloween, Everyone!

Makria invited Flynn to come to Trick or Treating. She's dressed as a vampire and Flynn is dressed as a Krud Solider but in the opposite (He's a Verigreen Solider). I do think Halloween along with the other holidays exists also in the Insektors Universe like Christmas in No Presents for Christmas.

sorry i havent been posting bugs lately. I did not give up I'm just late. day 4's prompt was Lesson, so here's Zarojo trying (and failing) to teach Fulgor how to use a Kolour Cannon. Suzy watches and giggles to herself at Zarojo's outburst, she thinks it's cute.

I haven't posted much of Suzy on here-- she's a queen paper wasp n she has this sorta maternal subtly military role towards the hymenopterans of Flowered City? I saw her in a dream n she primarily exists as a contrast between what Krud military is like versus what Verigreen troops are like. Zarojo is not her child, but she feels a sense of kinship with them and is technically their commander. Verries live in a very pacifistic society so Suzy prefers the diplomatic route, but is not opposed to pelting her foes with pollen if necessary. I don't think she's killed anyone but don't let her warm demeanor and cute appearance fool you, she is a master of psychological warfare.

Insektober 2024 Day 16 - Sport

Makria and @almightyhamslice's Lockhart is battling out

Made up a Krud Sporting event called Coal Brawl.

Teams of two must score points by grabbing coal at the center of the field and taking them to their score zone. Opponents must stop them by stealing it with any methods such as tackling, wrestling or anything creative.

Teams can also steal coal from their opponent's score zone, making them lose points.

Insektober 2024 Day 12 - One Colour

Pink has to be one of my favourite colours. I just couldn't but draw Max in that colour cause he represents Chroma of Love in Chromaverse.

Insektober day 3: Patrol!

Lukanus takes advantage of his patrol duty by stealing the Verigreens' tomatoes! There's plenty in the patch so it's not like the Verries will starve, it's just generally dickish behavior. Like he bit into one with his mandibles! Have some consideration for others, man!

Kretinus is unsure about this whole situation-- he trusts Lukanus since he's his boss and his friend but he's not comfortable with stealing. He supposes Lukanus knows better than him, so he goes along with his plan. Tomatoes are pretty tasty, after all. Kretinus doesn't get to eat them very often in day to day life in Krud City since they don't cultivate them within the stump.

This is absolutely something Lukanus does repeatedly! For as loyal of a soldier as Lukanus is, he doesn't feel he "deserves" the ascetic rules and restrictions of Krud life and often picks and chooses what to follow and what to ignore. He is absolutely this way about food, and tries to be secretive about indulging in Verigreen flavors (he cannot just ask the Verries for dinner because he thinks it would be traitorous of him to treat them as equals!) so he engages in very pest-like behavior whenever he can.

Insektober Day 24 - Prank

Alex thinks of an idea in the form of a prank and visits Violette to help her with the plan, despite Violette being mischievous in general, she thinks it will be a bad idea (Violette prefers to pull pranks on those whom she can trust). She crafted a colour-changing perfume and they carefully sneaked into Krud City.

Alex places the perfume into Khara's Room, making her think the perfume she ordered has arrived. Alex and Violette watch from the door as Khara's outfit turns pink. Violette thinks they should get out of here as Khara will know that Alex has pranked her. I wonder if she'll get back on her?

insektober day 16: Future

its called future cuz Princess Saturn here is actually a fankid design! She's Bakrakra and Lukanus' kid. She's an antlion! She looks a little silly cuz I actually designed her as a baby first n didn't think abt how adult antlions look like discount dragonflies. So to keep her recognizable ish I decided she'd have a few neotenic features like her sharp jaws n "fur" but she'd also have adult features like antennae, (stunted) wings, and a tail. I rlly like her wings, they look like screaming faces.

She seems like she'd be funny! I dont hve much written abt her though because she's not rlly part of my funny rewrite plans, she's just an OC I made because I thought it'd be fun if she existed essentially/thought itd be cute if Lukanus was a parent. He would be so proud of her even though she likes causing problems on purpose <3

I also think her relationship to Queen Bakrakra could be interesting! Not to get too into spoilers for the comic but Max's relationship to the monarchy is complicated so maybe Bakrakra would be happy to have a daughter who's actually passionate abt Krud City? Though Saturn's existence is also kind of scandalous because Bakrakra and Lukanus aren't married!! Or are they? I don't think they are, no. I think Lukanus is just her consort or something. Unofficially. NOT canon lmao. Anyways disregard everything I just said cuz Saturn isnt real unless I SOMEHOW put her in my rewrite which I WONT unless I FEEL LIKE IT IDK

Insektober Day 15 - Video Game

And I thought I couldn’t think of thing until I heard the word “pokemon” in my head and I found out I sketch some characters as fakemon last year.

Synatist has befriended a Kirlia after saving them from Team Rocket and has been caring them ever since.

Synatist is Synapse’s or Sypprentice’s final fakemon evolution, he is known as the mad scientist pokemon and he is a bug/steel-type.

@almightyhamslice have also designed the shiny form of Synatist.
