{Why is Telegram a big headache for the Jews, USA and France?
Why did they decide to literally kidnap the owner Pavel Durov at the Paris Airport?
Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of Telegram, was arrested today in France, there are different charges against him.
Telegram is the main source of information about the Israeli genocide and massacre in Gaza.
Thousands of videos of Jews massacring children have been posted on Telegram channels by journalists living in Gaza.
Israel is trying to stop that flow of information and that is why it has killed over 100 journalists in Gaza alone.
The most accurate information about the situation on the ground in Ukraine comes out on Telegram, and NATO can't control it.
Many people use Telegram as their source of information because the information comes directly from the field.
Many dead NATO soldiers appear on Telegram and the CIA and NATO command can no longer hide their direct involvement in the war broke out in Russia.
Telegram did a lot of damage to the French army in Africa.
The Africans organized all their protests, resistance and everything else against the French occupation forces through Telegram.
Russian mercenaries, obviously, use different platforms, but Telegram played for them an important role in accelerating the deterioration of France's military posture, especially in Africa.
This is a famous photo of Telegram founder Pavel Durov giving Putin his middle finger.
In 2011, Durov said that the Russian government had requested him to cancel the accounts of anti-government figures on his social media platform.
Durov not only did not follow, but also publicly released this photo of "raising the middle finger to Putin" in the media, which received cheers from the West.
After the 2014 Ukrainian coup, Durov refused to provide the Russian government with information on users involved in the Ukrainian colorful revolution.
In the same year, he left Russia, claiming that Russia was "unable to keep up with the information age". Shortly after, he acquired French and UAE citizenship and stated that he had no plans to return to Russia.
Today, Durov was arrested by France on charges of using the platform to "support terrorist activities" and "pedophilia" after refusing to provide user information to the United States and Israel, facing 20 years of imprisonment.
Durov helped Ukrainians stage a coup d'état in 2014.
Then the whole West glorified him.
He also trolled the Russian FSB and sent them the “encryption keys” to telegram in 2017.
Back then the west cheered his fight on.
The founder of Telegram has been detained by French intelligence services at Le Bourget Airport in Paris while exiting a private jet.
He is expected to be presented to a judge later this evening, facing multiple charges, according to TF1.
Potential charges include terrorism, drug-related offenses, complicity, fraud, money laundering, concealment, and possession of child exploitation content.
The main concern of EU authorities regarding Telegram is its encrypted messaging, as reported by TF1}
{And despite Durlov helped NATO in the 2014 coup in Ukraine, Russia is working to free Telegram founder Pavel Durov after he was arrested in France.}
If Pavel Durov could be arrested on these charges, then any country can arrest the leaders of Facebook, Google, Apple, Microsoft… any tech company that helps people communicate!
France is a 🤡 puppet of USA and Israel, who are mad at not having backdoor to Telegram.
Regarding Pavel Durov, Julian Assange, TikTok, Scott Ritter etc. etc. ⬇️
"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater." since paypal is once again a hot topic because of the “”new”” conversion fee:
international paypal users are already familiar with the conversion fee. this isn’t new to anyone outside the USA. we’ve been paying conversion fees on our USD to [insert regional currency] conversions forever now, it ain’t new.
you can correct me if i’m wrong - and i 100% encourage yall to double check yourselves instead of simply taking my word at face value - but the only difference is they’re making the conversion automatic. instead of you yourself manually converting the currency you have in your paypal account, any international currency is automatically converted to your local one the moment you receive it. i didn’t see the fee rates but knowing paypal, they’re probably increasing the conversion fees.
you can opt out of the automatic conversion by going through your payment preferences under the block payments tab - you just have to do so before September 11, 2023.
to the american artists trying to switch to other services for their commissions may I bring to your attention the following: Cashapp, Venmo and Zelle are all exclusive to the United States [with the exception of Cashapp, which does have availability in the UK]
americans won’t be impacted much [if at all] by this if you’re doing USD to USD transactions. if you really want to switch to something else because paypal just sucks all around, maybe consider Square or Stripe.
Square is available in the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, the UK, Ireland, France and Spain
and Stripe has availability in the following countries
someone mentioned that Wise is also out there. i personally haven’t used wise and i don’t want to just go ahead and blindly recommend it if i haven’t had any firsthand experience with its services, but it does have a large global availability - even some countries that Square and Stripe don’t have.
feel free to add to this, or correct me if i’m wrong anywhere. i want artists online to thrive instead of outright panicking every time paypal so much as twitches

To those who are confused as to where and how to buy OldXian's new artbook and merchandise, let me try to break it down for you.
A few days ago, OldXian announced the pre-sale of their new artbook which comes in two versions.
Variant A (regular) includes: - the new artbook - a poster - 2x postcards
Variant B (deluxe edition) includes: - the new artbook - a poster - 2x postcards - 4x buttons - a shishiki board - a sticker sheet - a 24 page booklet
Furthermore there's two new acrylic standees which can be purchased separately. A tianshan and a zhanyi version.
The cost of these items is as follows: Artbook (version A): 89 Yuan [roughly: 13 USD | 12 Euro | 10 GBP] Artbook (version B): 189 Yuan [roughly: 27 USD | 25 Euro 21 GBP] Acrylic Standee: 49 Yuan (each) [roughly: 7 USD | 7 Euro | 6 GBP]
All of these items are available for purchase in their taobao store now, under this link: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?ft=t&id=786971367604
But if you have trouble creating a taobao account or your country isn't on the (very short) taobao shipping list [China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand] then you have several other options to get your hands on these new items.
1. You could use aliexpress, koonbooks or any other China-based shopping app/website to buy these things from a 3rd party seller.
Now, keep in mind that these sellers obviously want to make a profit, so you will pay more than in the original taobao shop. However, on the plus side, they usually offer free shipping, which is nice considering that items like artbooks are heavy and shipping costs are based on weight, so if you pay over, some of that money also goes towards covering the shipping costs, which is not bad.
The risk of ordering with such a website is obviously that the independent seller could turn out to be a scammer and keep your money and not send you the goods. I have no idea about koonbook's policies, however in the case of aliexpress you are at least protected by such practices and should you not receive what you paid for, you will be refunded and get your money back.
Also keep in mind that the artbook and merch is still in production at this point! But Old Xian said the merch will be shipped out BEFORE May 20th. That's less than 4 weeks from now.
That being said - in some cases the merch will be cheaper on aliexpress after official ship-out, because there will be more people offering it, competing for best prices.
However there's obviously also a risk that the deluxe edition will sell out before that or that these re-sellers only ship the artbook itself with none of the extras.
Here's two links where you can have a look at potential resellers, but carefully think about all the pro's and con's I gave you before you consider to buy. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006893284852.html https://koonbooks.com/products/old-xian-19-days-art-collection-3-chinese?variant=46493038674166 2.
The other option you have is using a taobao shopping agent. If you google that, you'll find dozens of websites offering their services. I myself have used parcelup, 42agent and superbuy before. Here's links to all of them: https://www.superbuy.com/ https://parcelup.com/ https://www.42agent.com/ What all of these agents have in common is that you need to create an account BEFORE you can start searching and shopping. All you need for that is a valid email address. I'll show how it works with superbuy screenshots here. After you signed up, you can copy the taobao-link I gave you earlier and paste it into the search-field.
What will come up is an embedded view of the taobao listing where you can pick which variant you want and then add it to your shopping cart.
Once you have added everything you want, click on the shopping cart and simply follow all further payment instructions.
They will also ask you if you want them to keep the original packaging or if you want them to remove anything unnecessary and repack everything in order to make it weigh less so shipping will be cheaper. It's up to you. You will then be asked to pay for items, domestic shipping (so mosspaca studios can ship the goods to your agent's warehouse) and in some cases a service fee. For example, superbuy has no service fee, however they stopped offering paypal as payment method recently so you'd need a credit card or other online methods to pay for your order and everything. Parcelup, however, still offers paypal, but they also charge service fees. (They are fairly low though, if you ask me.) So after you paid for your goods, they will order the items for you and then you'll have to wait about 4-5 weeks for them to arrive, because keep in mind - like I said earlier - everything is still in production and Old Xian aims to ship everything out before the 20th of May. There's hundreds, if not thousands of parcels arriving to all agent's warehouses every day, so it will take them a few days to sort through things after your order arrives. You need to be patient!! They will get back to you with pictures of your order, trust me. When this happens you need to look at the pics and if everything is okay, you can reply to them to proceed. You will then be presented with shipping quotes. Usually they offer more than one shipping method and some are tracked, others are untracked, some will take only a week or two until they arrive at your doorstep, others will take 6 weeks or up to two months. Choose wisely which method you want and consider what is in your budget. (Obviously fast shipping with tracking is more expensive than slow shipping without it, however personally I'd always recommend a tracked service.) Just to give you an estimate on what to expect when it comes to international shipping - parcels with that amount of merch and weight, will always cost me about 50 USD or more to ship from China to the UK, where I live. (So keep that in mind before you order. International shipping is very expensive!) But once you picked a shipping method, you pay for it (that's your 2nd payment) and once they have processed that - your goodies will be on the way to you within a few days. And that's it. Sit down, eat your food and wait patiently for it to arrive. If you have further questions, just plop them into the comments and I'll try to answer them.

Shipping price is noted in each post - that's registered international shipping (comes with a tracking number). I ship from Russia via Russian Post.
I'm happy to combine shipping if you buy more than one item!
Payment
As a citizen of Russia I can't use PayPal anymore, so I take payments through Boosty.to. It's a Russian Patreon-like service. You will need to create an account, and then you'll be able to pay via PayPal or your credit card.
Shipping from Russia to the UK normally takes 2-3 weeks. Overseas, 3-4 weeks. If you don't receive your package after 8 weeks, please let me know and we'll work something out.
I used to have an Etsy shop before February 2022 and had over 10,000 positive reviews there (name was SovietPostcards as well). I'm a reliable seller. My current reviews are tumblr posts made by buyers. :)

I never understood the concept of "doing taxes". Taxes are just there and you just pay them, like everytime you buy something it includes a tax you have no other choice but to pay it, what do you have to do?? (I live outside the USA)
Oh fun! I get to explain U.S. taxes!!
(disclaimer: if you're a young adult in America who will have to learn to do taxes soon, please don't take this as a reason to panic. It IS absurd and it is kinda stressful the first time you do it, but you get a handle on it, and filing services like FreeTaxUSA walk you through it and do all the math parts for you. [Though learning the math parts yourself is kinda smart if you want to understand what you're doing.])
(other disclaimer: I might have some details wrong because I'm a random blogger and not an accountant. Accountants don't maul me please.)
So it's true that tax is included when you buy something, but the whole "doing taxes" in America is about income tax.
My experience is with a company that does withholdings (god bless all you freelance workers figuring it all out for yourselves.) Withholdings means my company will estimate how much tax I should owe and take it out of each paycheck to give to the government. So from a $1,000 paycheck, they might withhold $300 to pay taxes with, and gives you the remaining $700.
But that might NOT be right. So in April every American has to go crunch all the numbers and figure out if they paid the right amount :) (chances are the answer is no).
We get a form called a W-2 (god bless, I only have one W-2 because I work just one full time job) which includes *adjust glasses*: employer's name, your info, your federal ID number, your social security number (partially redacted), your total wages, your federal income tax withheld, your social security tax withheld, your medicare tax withheld, your deferrals with things like 401k contributions, tips, dependent care benefits, STATE income tax withheld (my state has a 5% income tax, on top of the federal income tax) AAAAAAND other boxes I won't even bother with.
You feed this into software (like turbotax, which CHARGES you to do this, but I used FreeTaxUSA which had free federal filing and almost-free state filing) - RIGHT, you file federal and state SEPARATELY. And you owe/receive SEPARATE amounts.
America has tax brackets, which means you owe x% of money you make between--actually, lemme get the fucking chart
fucking delightful.
So if you make $50,000, as a single filer, you owe 10% of the first $10,275, then you owe 12% of the next $31,500 (that's the amount between $10,275-$41,775, in the second row), then 22% of the remaining $8,225 (cough and then also state income tax if you have it cough). It's a little bit like filling up a thermometer, and the amount between each tick mark is what you owe x% of.
BUT WAIT. THERE'S DEDUCTIONS.
DEDUCTIONS are where most of the complexity comes from. Because there's like 1,000 random things that can give you a tax break. And there's also the standard deduction of $12,950.
What's the deduction? It's an amount of your income that qualifies as tax-exempt. So for the $50,000-earner, if they go with the standard deduction of $12,950, then only $37,050 of their income is taxable. So FORGET that calculation above, it's now 10% of the first $10,275, and 12% of the remaining $26,775
But if your itemized deduction is higher than your standard deduction, it's in your interest to calculate all your itemized deductions and use those, if they add up to more than $12,950
My itemized deductions were almost higher than the $12,950, between my state income tax contribution, property tax contribution, and mortgage interest payments. Other people might have a fuckton of other things--uh like dependents, business expenses, uh I'm not even sure since I skim past all the ones that don't apply to me.
OH, ALSO, THERE ARE OTHER FORMS YOU MIGHT HAVE TO PROVIDE BEYOND THE W-2. There are 1099-INT forms for interest made on bank accounts, 1099-DIV forms for money made from stock dividends, and others I don't even know about.
And all my knowledge and experiences comes as someone with relatively simple taxes by U.S. standards.
(The state taxes then have their own things and own deductions and whatever. They're usually kinda less complicated than federal, but they're a separate thing you have to file.)
And after you do all that, it figures out how much tax you SHOULD owe, how much you ACTUALLY paid, and tells you the difference that you owe/are owed.
I got back a decent amount of money in 2019 and 2020. 2021 was preeettty much even. 2022 I OWE a lot of money because, fuck it, I dunno.

Zero's medal, New Mecca's origins, and near-fatal head trauma
Spoilers for all of Katana ZERO ahead. if you haven't played it already, do that now, I'm dead serious when I say it's one of the greatest games of all time.
When I first decided I'd post meta about this game, honestly, this isn't the one I expected to start with. Hey, sometimes inspiration hits, and...
I'm joking. That's a different rant entirely. (yoshiP voice) please look forward to it. I think the best place to start with this one is New Mecca itself, and what that name entails. It's no secret that KZ takes large inspiration from both Judaism and Islam, the latter of which is more relevant today.
The implications of a literal new Mecca are both fascinating and out of my wheelhouse. I encourage any Muslims, who certainly know more about it than me, to elaborate. As it stands, I'm going to leave it at these few screenshots.
The Psychiatrist:
Leon von Alvensleben:
And of course, Headhunter:
This really isn't the main point of this rant, but it's related enough that I feel justified in mentioning it. Now, let's see Zero's service medal.
Thanks to the nature of KZ as a pixel-art game, we don't have much to work with here. It's gold with a purple ribbon, that's the most we're gonna get.
During the scene at the bar, we have an NPC put a name to it, and this name is what kickstarted the entire post.
A Distinguished Service Crescent. This, to my knowledge, is not a real medal in any country. That makes sense, considering, to my knowledge... New Mecca isn't real. (If it was, we'd have bigger problems on our hands.) This name did remind me of the real-life medal known as the Distinguished Service Cross, which has three meanings and appearances between countries.
To the left, the USA's medal, which is the second highest military decoration just behind their Medal of Honor. The center, Australia's medal, the highest of their Distinguished Service awards. The right, the United Kingdom's medal, which is only awarded for service at sea.
But none of these look like Zero's medal, do they? Let's take a look at Distinguished Service Medals instead, same order as above.
No dice. At this point what I'm about to say is going to surprise absolutely nobody, but the only real-life lookalike I can think of is the USA's Purple Heart.
Now, this sounds absolutely nothing like the Distinguished Service Crescent the NPC mentions, but let's account for 1. artistic liberty, 2. multiple inspirations, and 3. the fact that he might've been wrong. (It's not as if KZ has the most reliable narrators in the first place.)
Part of the reason it might be named as such in game is to draw the direct comparison to our real world medals, named after the cross. Why has it been replaced with a crescent, though? Recall the name of New Mecca, and how the crescent has long been a symbol of of Islam.
Most Americans know what a Purple Heart is given for: being wounded or killed by an enemy combatant in the line of duty. Given that Zero is still alive to receive it, only the former is important. Things are starting to come together.
During the final scene with the Psychiatrist, he entirely ignores you if you ask if the medal is real. At first, I assumed this could be Zero coming to doubt everything he's been told, which is reasonable. Then, once I realized the medal is based off of a Purple Heart, I thought it was real after all.
Finally, I realized just how much the Psychiatrist had Zero's life under control. Zero knows what this medal means, what it implies, and the whole course of the game is discovering how much of what he believed to be innate is caused by his medicine.
Chronos, the drug that he's been forbidden from learning about at every turn, that he's been given non-answers about this whole time, that gives him the power of a god. It's not so unreasonable to assume the medal was used to attribute Zero's memory loss to a head injury, as opposed to the truth of it being yet another side effect.
It's worth noting which parts of the screenshots provided are rendered in purple, and the fact that NULL itself is written in the same color. More on the color usage of KZ later.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading the deranged ramblings of a madman. Lord knows I'm not done talking about this game.
Thanks to @chemicalbrew for encouraging my madness, Muffins (no tumblr) for cooking this up with me, @dynal for listening, and everyone in The Apartment, Nepenthe, and Paradox of Lucidity for cheering me on.
#katana zero#kz#meta#op#reblogs very appreciated i spent 3 hours writing this and much longer falling down rabbit holes#pin

K-pjms are crazy and I'm here for it 🤣
FOR CONTEXT AND THOSE NOT ON TWITTER/X:
Yesterday an Army/OT7 account (ARMYonDeezer) made a post and very sus claim of an alleged South Korean chart where--GET THIS---some BTS group songs and OT6 Solo songs, minus Jimin's, were charting high on said chart.
BUT HERE'S THE THING!
K-army, especially Jimin biased or solos, had never seen or heard of Deezer being available in South Korea.
So of course, Kpjms took to twitter to ask DEEZER directly what is the meaning of this? How can there be an alleged Top 100 Korean Chart for a music platform that is NOT available for users from THAT COUNTRY?
And this is the answer they received:
"Existing subscribers" ...HOW are there "existing subscribers" for a service NOT available in that country?
WHO is generating this Chart then?--That by the way, the above Top 100 chart was NOT presented by Deezer officially. But by that "army" account.
So one of 2 things happened here:
A) International fans were using VPNs to make those songs charts in South Korea. And if true, then the chart is invalid/illegal (just like it is deemed invalid when fans outside of USA use vpns to try and chart an artist in BB Hot 100. Or international fans using vpn to vote in Korea for awards that are NOT for international fan votes).
B) OR the chart is FAKE to throw off other Armys with the belief/narrative that Jimin isn't popular and "his country hates him".
But now that Deezer IS made fully available in SK (even if by "existing subscribers"... whatever the fuck that means for them), we see that the reality is different. Jimin's songs can very easily be charted just like any other country.
BOTTOM LINE:
KARMA'S A BITCH. STOP PROVOKING HER.

Hey! Everyone should support the writers strike! It’s incredibly important! If you love theatre as well as television, I would like to draw your attention to another group of writers in this country (the USA, unfortunately) that desperately need help.
Playwrights only make on average ten-thousand dollars for each show they produce. This is accounting for royalties, although with incredible luck or a really nice commission those can bring it up to around twenty-thousand. To make matters worse, the average playwright can only produce one show per year. To put that into perspective, in order to make the average American yearly wage of thirty-thousand dollars, a playwright would need to write and produce two to four plays every year in high-end regional theatres. That’s a feature-length original play every three to six months. Most plays take over a year to fully develop.
On top of that, unlike screenwriters who are often employees of a company, playwrights are considered to be owners of capital, as we own the exclusive rights to produce their show. Because of that, we are not allowed to unionize. This means that our only form of protection, the Playwrights Guild of America, can’t do much other than help playwrights avoid bad contracts. This is an extremely valuable service to be sure, but it can’t solve the problem that only the luckiest playwrights in the country can make a living on this art form.
There are a lot of other issues that compound this problem. Most plays only ever receive one run, which means that playwrights don’t usually earn residuals. Many theaters will contract staged readings of a play for which they do not pay the author. While theaters expect playwrights to be present during the development of a new play, they won’t pay them for their time during early production meetings, auditions, or rehearsals. It all combines to make kind of a perfect storm.
If you like live theatre, this should concern you! If you feel like modern theatre is stale and repetitive, it’s because people who are truly passionate about play writing are forced to split their time between multiple forms. Without enough dedicated theatre writers, we lose access to the originality and novelty that set the stage apart from the screen. Don’t get me wrong, there are some extremely talented and devoted playwrights out there who are able to make things work. But how can people expect great work from us when we can’t even do this work full-time?
So what can you do to help? The first thing you can do is SUPPORT THE WRITER’S STRIKE. Because most playwrights can’t make a living writing plays, they often supplement work in the theatre with work on TV or in other spaces. Helping out Hollywood writers will help put a lot of playwrights in better positions.
You can also support theaters like Playwrights Horizons in Washington DC who provide playwrights with full fellowships in exchange for their plays. These are valuable as they allow a playwright to spend all of their time on their chosen medium rather than needing to juggle multiple jobs to make ends meet.
Other than this, it’s hard to say what normal people can actually do here. It would be nice if there could be a union for playwrights like there is for actors, but as long as playwrights own the means of production this would probably only shift the problem from our backs onto the backs of actors, directors, and designers. And budgets for new shows are already tight enough as things stand, it seems like a lot to ask to carve more of that money out for writers when things are already difficult.
Here’s an excellent article about the situation from American Theatre that goes over a lot of the information I did here in more detail (without the pro-union editorialization.) https://www.americantheatre.org/2014/12/10/paying-playwrights-more-than-play-money/
TLDR; Helping screenwriters helps playwrights too, but a lot more needs to be done before we’re out of the woods. The average playwright can’t make a living play writing, and the only writers in the industry who can are extremely lucky. Trying to solve this problem is critical for the future of theatre.

Sex Change Procedures Inflicted on 14,000 Children
Everyone agrees that Josef Mengele was a villain. But his crimes are dwarfed by the scale of evil currently taking place in the USA, as revealed by Do No Harm:
From January 2019 to December 2023, 13,994 minor patients received gender-transition treatments, with 5,747 undergoing sex-change surgeries and 8,579 getting hormones and puberty blockers, according to Do No Harm’s database. A majority of the body-modification procedures were conducted on minors around the age of 15.
No child can meaningfully consent to being deformed for social engineering purposes.
The database lines up with anecdotal accounts of teenagers being rushed into surgical operations and hormone procedures that permanently alter their bodies. A number of medical patients who later came to regret these procedures, known as “detransitioners,” have publicly spoken about their experiences being pushed to undergo gender-transition operations while they struggled with mental-health issues and sought guidance.
The figures given are lower limits:
The database likely undercounts the true number of trans medical interventions because it excludes “gray area” cases and lacks data from certain health-care providers. … Do No Harm’s figures are based on publicly available insurance claim data the organization obtained from clearinghouses, data aggregators, payers, health systems, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and open sources.
The crimes against humanity are inflicted to advance the LGBT agenda. Unsurprisingly, they mainly occur where Democrats have established hegemony:
The facilities Do No Harm spotlights are almost entirely concentrated in blue states where transgender procedures are entirely legal and gender-transition activists have political support from elected officials.
In addition to the public funding is involved, we are forced to finance these atrocities through higher insurance rates:
Over the relevant time frame, patients submitted close to $120 million in charges to insurers, Do No Harm found.
The real bill has yet to come due. A Thomas Jefferson quote comes to mind:
