Second post of the night!
Some character exploration stuff I’ve had sitting around for a while, I go back and forth on sharing this kind of stuff because I can never really tell if it’s good enough to post? Anyway, spur of the moment decision, so here they are!
My characters, Lilith, Yusef Mustafa and Abraham the Mage
Some of these are oldies but still relevant to the story I’m trying to tell! Lots of loose sketches, nothing really tight because I’m still working out designs (especially Yusef’s)
There are some bird men floating around too, but Khonsu is getting a bit of an update (and I’m fleshing out his own human disguise)

Reblogging from my writing page to share some fun development things from my novel — I’ve been really working on developing these characters and their dynamics
I want to get into the habit of sharing more of my visual development art for my novel — most of it is rough or unfinished, but that’s kind of fun right?
Anywho, my nearly complete cast of characters and a lot of the recent design work I’ve done for them!

The Path of Magick: A Personal Reflection
Magick manifests in countless forms—mage, witch, sorcerer, and more. Each practitioner may align with light, dark, or gray; navigate the liminal spaces between order and chaos; or walk the right-hand, left-hand, or even the middle path. These are not mere labels but facets of the soul's journey through the vast game of existence. At its core, magick is about unlocking your latent potential, embracing your sovereign spirit, and stepping into personal power.
I don’t claim to hold the ultimate truth. I strive to remain open, willing to admit mistakes, and ready to push beyond my comfort zone. The year 2024 challenged me profoundly—it was a time of spiritual upheaval, evolution, and moments of being utterly lost. Without a guide, I was forced to look inward and confront my beliefs. This period of solitude helped me find my path as a Dark Mage.
Dark is not evil. Dark is the holder of the void of mystery.
Through introspection and effort, I discovered the warrior spirit within me. Though I walk the path of a Dark Mage, this does not mean I am dark at heart. I am driven by love, kindness, and a deep curiosity for the mysterious and the void. These aspects of my soul reveal who I am. For me, the title of “mage” serves as a roadmap for how I approach life and spirituality.
At my core, I hold animistic beliefs. Animism—the view that all things, from animals and plants to rocks, rivers, and even human creations, possess a spiritual essence—resonates deeply with me. It reminds me that the world is alive, interconnected, and imbued with agency and will.
While I still practice witchy crafts—like kitchen witchery and home protection spells—my evolution has guided me toward the deeper mysteries of the Earth and the Northern traditions. Those who explore these mysteries and find their tribe within them will understand what I mean.
This journey also led me to explore the concept of de-baptism—a symbolic act of shedding old religious ties to transcend into a magical consciousness as a practitioner. My studies drew from a variety of occult sources, though some clarity came from insights shared on YouTube.
Ultimately, magick is a deeply personal path. It’s a journey of self-discovery, growth, and finding alignment with the mysteries that resonate with your soul. For me, this is the essence of embracing magical consciousness.

Now, I'd like to share the ritual I performed at a crossroads within my local cemetery. This ritual draws inspiration from various occult traditions and is a blend of practices, not confined to any single magical system.
To begin, I offered gifts to the Guardian of the Cemetery, seeking the spirits' permission to perform a ritual on sacred grounds. Coins were essential as a traditional form of payment, alongside offerings of fruits, seeds, nuts, and red wine, which I respectfully poured into the soil at the base of a tree.
The ritual took place at a crossroads—where two or three roads intersect. Crossroads are powerful liminal spaces, existing in a state of transition, neither here nor there. They are places of change, steeped in myth and legend.
In ancient traditions, crossroads have long been associated with magic and mystery. Hecate, the Greek goddess of witches and crossroads, was a guardian of gates and thresholds, standing as a sentinel between the civilized world and the wild unknown. Such spaces are ideal for transformative work and connecting with the unseen realms.
The Guardian of the Crossroads was also honored with offerings of coins, fruit, and flowers as a gesture of respect and payment. Standing at the heart of the crossroads, I began an evocation to call upon the Guardians to bear witness to the ritual.
Next, I performed an evocation to summon the Christian and Catholic egregores tied to my birth and upbringing. I called them forth to formally declare my departure from their realm. With firm intent, I severed all ties—cutting cords, ending contracts, and repaying oaths and debts made to them. This act was a declaration of my free will, marking my choice to step away from their influence and move forward on my own spiritual path.
As a Mage, I carried my wooden staff—a symbol of power, protection, and an extension of my magical consciousness—ready to embark on the transformative journey ahead. In this ritual, there was no casting of protective circles or performing shielding spells. Instead, it required courage, vulnerability, and a willingness to stand fully open, face-to-face with these egregores, and confront them directly.
Here is a sample of my ritual (pls craft it to your beliefs and use your own words for it to represent you). ☺️
"I, born on date of your birth, given the name name given to you at birth, of sound mind and body, hereby commence this ritual of de-baptism. Through this act, I sever and remove all energetic seals from my mind, body, and soul. I release the seals from my baptism, first communion, and any other bonds or energies placed upon me through my interactions and prayers within the Catholic, Christian, and Jewish egregores. I perform this act willingly, with full intention and the power of my Free Will. As I will it, so it is done."
(Offering to the Gatekeeper of the Cemetery & Gaudian of the crossroads – Flowers, Apple, Beer etc.) "To the Gatekeeper of this cemetery, I humbly ask for your permission to enter and perform my ritual at the crossroads within these sacred grounds." (Offer the gifts) Please accept these offerings as a token of my respect and gratitude. I ask that you grant me safe passage and entry into this space. With deep reverence, I give thanks."
EVOCATION
"I call forth in evocation the gods of the Abrahamic religions, along with the Catholic, Christian, and Judaic egregores, to bear witness to my solemn declaration. I hereby renounce and sever my ties to the Catholic spiritual system that was imposed upon me at birth. I do this willingly and with full awareness, declaring my departure from this path now and for all eternity. As I speak these words, so it is done."
"I do evocate and conjure thee, O, YHWH (Yahweh), The Tetragrammaton, otherwise known as Adonai. I do strongly command thee, by my sovereign spirit, to hear me now."
"I do evocate and conjure thee, O, ELOHIM, (God of Religion), El Shaddai, otherwise known as El Elyon, El Roi, or Abba. I do strongly command thee, by my sovereign spirit, to hear me now."
"I do evocate and conjure thee, O, JEHOVAH (Jehovian/Tetragrammaton Iehovah), Zabaoth, otherwise known as Elion, Iah, or Shaddai. I do strongly command thee, by my sovereign spirit, to hear me now."
"I terminate access to my genetic record through all Abrahamic Egregors and Religious organization alliances, totally and completely now, from my soul and etheric body, dissolving all contracts and cutting cords to this Thought-Form-God-Head, now, it has ended. All SEALS are now removed. As I say it, so be it."
[State to each religious egregore that you are leaving, ending your alliance with it, that you will pay off your oaths and depts., and return all that was given to you from this thought-form back to it. Claim your intentions and state your departure. You may want to repeat this with each God-Name of your Religion.]
"Clear all memory and influences, permanently and completely. Eliminate. Release. Protect. Set free. Sovereign Zero Point."
[At this point as your spirit guides, your deities, or just Gaia (Mother Nature) to bare witness to this act of sovereignty.]
"So Mote It Be!"
THE LICENCE TO DEPART
"O, Thou Abrahamic Egregores because thou hast diligently answered unto my demands, and hast been very ready and willing to come at my call, I do here license thee to depart unto thy proper place, without causing harm or danger unto anyone or thing. Depart, then I say, withdraw peaceably and quietly, and our communication is over, and done, in peace. BE GONE NOW. As I will it, So Be It, and so it is Done."
[Close by ending communication as well with spirit Witnesses and the Guardians of the crossroad and Cemetery, thank them for their time and attention in your magical ritual workings today].
I hope this little blog post provides you with ideas, please feel free to craft your own de-baptism ritual, there is no right or wrong way, just your bravery to pave your own WAY.

Summaries under the cut
Gallagher Girls by Ally Carter
Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, a fairly typical all-girls school—that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE and the latest in chemical warfare in science, and students received extra credit for breaking CIA codes in computer class. The Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses, but it's really a school for spies. Even though Cammie is fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man in seven different ways, she has no idea what to do when she meets an ordinary boy who thinks she's an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack into his computer, or track him through town with the skill of a real "pavement artist"—but can she maneuver a relationship with someone who can never know the truth about her?
Fablehaven by Brandon Mull
Trespassers will be turned to stone
For centuries, mystical creatures of all description were gathered to a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary is one of the last strongholds of true magic. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite . . .
Kendra and her brother, Seth, have no idea their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven. Inside the gated woods, ancient laws keep order among greedy trolls, mischievous satyrs, plotting witches, spiteful imps, and jealous fairies. However, when the rules get broken, powerful forces of evil are unleashed, forcing Kendra and Seth to face the greatest challenge of their lives, to save their family, Fablehaven, and perhaps even the world.
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott
Nicholas Flamel was born in Paris on 28 September 1330. Nearly seven hundred years later, he is acknowledged as the greatest Alchemyst of his day. It is said that he discovered the secret of eternal life. The records show that he died in 1418. But his tomb is empty and Nicholas Flamel lives. The secret of eternal life is hidden within the book he protects—the Book of Abraham the Mage. It's the most powerful book that has ever existed. In the wrong hands, it will destroy the world. And that's exactly what Dr. John Dee plans to do when he steals it. Humankind won't know what's happening until it's too late. And if the prophecy is right, Sophie and Josh Newman are the only ones with the power to save the world as we know it. Sometimes legends are true. And Sophie and Josh Newman are about to find themselves in the middle of the greatest legend of all time.
Out of My Mind by Shannon Draper
Melody is not like most people. She cannot walk or talk, but she has a photographic memory; she can remember every detail of everything she has ever experienced. She is smarter than most of the adults who try to diagnose her and smarter than her classmates in her integrated classroom - the very same classmates who dismiss her as mentally challenged because she cannot tell them otherwise. But Melody refuses to be defined by cerebral palsy. And she's determined to let everyone know it - somehow.
The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
Orphaned Kit Tyler knows, as she gazes for the first time at the cold, bleak shores of Connecticut Colony, that her new home will never be like the shimmering Caribbean island she left behind. In her relatives' stern Puritan community, she feels like a tropical bird that has flown to the wrong part of the world, a bird that is now caged and lonely. The only place where Kit feels completely free is in the meadows, where she enjoys the company of the old Quaker woman known as the Witch of Blackbird Pond, and on occasion, her young sailor friend Nat. But when Kit's friendship with the "witch" is discovered, Kit is faced with suspicion, fear, and anger. She herself is accused of witchcraft!
Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale
She was born with her eyes closed and a word on her tongue, a word she could not taste.
Her name was Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee, Crown Princess of Kildenree, and she spent the first years of her life listening to her aunt’s stories and learning the language of the birds, especially the swans. And when she was older, she watched as a colt was born, and she heard the first word on his tongue, his name, Falada.
From the Grimm’s fairy tale of the princess who became a goose girl before she could become queen, Shannon Hale has woven an incredible, original, and magical tale of a girl who must find her own unusual talents before she can lead the people she has made her own.
Fudge by Judy Blume

Whether Fudge is throwing a temper tantrum in a shoe store, smearing mashed potatoes on the walls at Hamburger Heaven, or trying to fly, he's never far from trouble. He's an almost three-year-old terror who gets away with everything, and Peter's had it up to here! When Fudge walks off with Dribble, Peter's pet turtle, it's the last straw. Peter has put up with Fudge for too long. Way too long! How can he get his parents to pay attention to him for a change?

Theory: Kaeya's Vision was Given to Him by The Sinner and his Vision Gives us a Major Hint as to The Sinner's Identity.
can we talk about kaeya's vision? i've been dying to talk about kaeya's vision again.
(spoilers for everything up until 4.2)
good news, we finally got some more insight on what visions are! according to neuvilette's character story, when a person's desire reaches the heavens, archons are dutybound to put aside a shard of their mastery for them. this "mastery" originally belongs to the seven sovereigns.
To continue to subdue and control the resentments and loathing of the world, the usurper and one who came after created the Gnoses together. So it came to be that an order was made to be upheld, and thus did humans come to only possess these seven remembrances, and all fragments of the primordial were driven to devour each other. From that day on, whenever a person's wishes reached the heavens, the seven overseers of the material realm were duty-bound to grant them a gift. Though they might know nothing of who or what wish had stepped into the threshold of the sacred, the Seven Archons still had to impart a shattered shard of their mastery to that person.
after focalors destroyed the throne of the hydro archon, neuvilette gained complete authority over the hydro element. because he's a nice guy, he decided to also put aside some of his mastery to grant visions to people.
furina is one such person.
here's the cool part; her vision looks different from other fontainians. the decoration combines ousia and pneuma elements and there are four little fangs holding the vision in place.
KAEYA'S VISION
that brings me back to the conundrum that is kaeya's vision. before furina, he was the only character with a vision that deviated from the norm.
there are two unique oddities about his standard vision: it's missing two wings; the strings on the back are on the other side: this is an indication that it's mirrored.
(for simplicity's sake i will ignore the vision on his other outfit since it's essentially modified to match zosimos' design.)
what if kaeya's situation is similar to furina's? and i'm not just talking about their never-ending masquerade… what if his vision was granted by someone else?
WHY ARE THE STRINGS ON THE RIGHT SIDE?
i have briefly talked about this before but mirrors are associated with the abyss. this lead me to believe that it's possible that kaeya's vision might have been given by the abyss/the sinner.
note how the strings on furina's gem also switch sides when she changes from pneuma to ousia. (pneuma (light) on the left and ousia (dark) on the right.)
it's relatively common knowledge by now that kaeya's kit shares similarities with abyss mages and heralds and that many khaenri'ahns were turned into abyssal creatures, (possibly due to them being in a similar situation as jakob ingold who possessed a "bit of the dark cold cosmos's power").
Paimon: And you said the people turned into monsters... You're trying to tell Paimon that the Abyss Order is not only related to Khaenri'ah but is actually the people of Khaenri'ah themselves!?
with the new information given, this theory seems more plausible. if neuvilette can give out visions, why not mr. purple crystal as well? if wishes can reach the "heavens", couldn't they also reach the abyss? we saw the crystal respond to clothar's praying and display a bit of creepy omniscience so you know it's powerful.
WHY IS THE VISION MISSING WINGS?
consider that the fangs on furina's vision is neuvilette's tongue-in-cheek way of hinting at him being a dragon, as his own personal touch. then could clipped wings hint towards the identity of whoever gave kaeya his vision? what do clipped wings indicate? fallen angels. what's a fallen angel? a sinner. 😏💯
Fallen angels are angels who were expelled from heaven. The literal term "fallen angel" does not appear in any Abrahamic religious texts, but is used to describe angels cast out of heaven or angels who sinned. Such angels often tempt humans to sin.
fun fact, the abyss mages are always chanting in ENOCHIAN which is popularized as the language of the angels.
The script for this language appears while Abyss Mages are chanting to regenerate their shields as well as over their heads when performing spells outside of combat. […] The script also appears in the yellow protective runes around the weak points of Automatons, where the mirrored glyphs for B, L, and G circle around the core. Ruin Guards are known to have been made by the people of Khaenri'ah, many of whom turned into "monsters of the Abyss," so this script was possibly used in Khaenri'ah as well.
way back in the first archon quest, an abyss mage speaks to kaeya in enochian. it's significant enough that they give us a subtitle to imply kaeya can understand this angelic language; we have been shown he knows other ancient languages as well, like the language of the hilichurls and a strange script in the manga.
Kaeya: There's no way hilichurls organized an ambush like this themselves — not with their limited mental capacity... Kaeya: Thus YOU were behind this. Hydro Abyss Mage: Gohus, Chiso Vonph.
perhaps a reach but kaeya has one giant wing on his outfit, possibly a reference to the most famous video game villain in history, sephiroth, the one-winged angel?
this one is not a reach because kaeya also owns a book called the adventures of angelos. angelos is from greek ἄγγελος which means angel.
Between the pages of "The Adventures of Angelos," you find a list of names written on a sheet of official Knights of Favonius letterhead paper.
a book named angel containing a list of names, just to show the traveler he has eyes everywhere is a little on the nose if you ask me.
*edit: i forgot to include the most obvious hint, kaeya's favorite hangout: angel's share. and in the book of revelation there is a star or angel that fell to earth known as wormwood, (apsinthion in greek), which is the name of a plant used to make absinthe, which in turn is thee main ingredient of death (in the) afternoon, kaeya's favorite drink. dainsleif also likes this drink.
Wormwood (ἀψίνθιον apsinthion or ἄψινθος apsinthos in Greek) is a star or angel which appears in the Book of Revelation.
another fun fact, nabu malikata's last name malikata, besides meaning queen, could also mean angels.
In Islam, angels (Arabic: ملاك٬ ملك, romanized: malāk; plural: ملائِكة, malāʾik/malāʾikah) are believed to be heavenly beings.
nabu malikata is a survivor of the seelie race who were abandoned by the heavens; they are heavily implied to be angels. she is also the originator of the jinn. huh, i wonder why kaeya gifted us a seemingly random lamp which is said to have housed a powerful jinni...
all this is pointing to the sinner being a fallen angel which makes sense since the archons have demonic names from the ars goetia, it stands to reason that higher abyssal beings should have angelic names.
in islam, there is a fallen angel named iblis who had four wings (like kaeya's vision) and who was chained up in the deepest part of hell (like the sinner), whose original name was azazil. khaenri'ah has some ties to arabic mythology, so who knows? this is just one possibility. interestingly enough, the names of four of the archangels ARE referenced in mona's magic circle but not azazil.
the interesting part about the crystal is that he denies being a god and addresses the traveller as "creature"… there has been some speculation that the dragon king nibelung is the sinner, but we honestly don't have enough information to make that leap.
**edit: the domain we find the sinner in is located inside the chasm. thousands of years ago, back when zhongli was still young, an entity known as the sun or solar chariot fell to teyvat forming the chasm. this was during the time the moon sisters fell.
according to one legend, they refer to the entity as a fallen star. the star stayed in the chasm until the archon war, but before it returned to the sky it permanently left a piece of itself behind.
also, the sinner's domain has enkanomiyan statues and architecture. in enkanomiya, there is an achievement you can get called phosphorus' guidance, which you get by following seelies. phosphorus is the greek name for the morning star. the latin name for the morning star is lucifer, now best known as the name of a fallen angel.
The Ancient Greeks called the morning star Φωσφόρος, Phosphoros, the "Bringer of Light". Another Greek name for the morning star was Heosphoros, meaning "Dawn-Bringer".
dawn-bringer, you say? reminds me of the harbinger of dawn kaeya gives you in the very beginning of the game. what are you trying to tell us, bud?
lastly, the traveler notes the upside down defiled statue of the anemo archon is similar to the sinner. the statue, of course, has wings. it's funny because when we meet kaeya for the very first time, it's in front of the anemo god statue in front of the cathedral... notably, both dainsleif, and kaeya in his hangout route do not go inside the cathedral.
Kaeya: Perfect. (Traveler), why don't you head into the Cathedral and invite Sister Barbara to join us? I'll look for another friend who's interested in helping us.
Dainsleif: When a non-believer steps onto holy ground, the result is never pretty.
WHY DOES THE VISION HAVE A MONDSTADT CASING?
khaenri'ah was outside of the rule of the seven, hidden from the gaze of the gods. we don't know yet if in days of old khaenri'ahns could receive visions but we do have dainsleif's character card to give us a clue.
The listed name of his Vision's element, as announced on his Chinese Character Card, is a set of indecipherable symbols.
so dainsleif does have a vision; it's just that it has manifested as something else, possibly because unlike kaeya-seemingly a normal human-he is cursed.
in any case, we've seen wanderer receive a complete sumeru vision despite not even being from there and arlecchino has a shneznayan casing despite loving her homeland fontaine. (although there might be some other shit going on with her.)
this means vision casings are tied to the region the receiver is in and has nothing to do with where a person is born. if neuvilette were to gift someone from outside fontaine a hydro vision, they would receive a casing from the region they're in. fontainians have pneuma or ousia alignments but arlecchino's shneznayan vision has no indication of what she is aligned with. though again, arlecchino is not a normal human being, who knows what's going on there.
Along with Divinity: Prologue [...] we should be conscious of the fact that what shapes our thinking, logic, culture, philosophy and aesthetics is not the archons themselves, but the objective environment that exists around us. This world around us is what we have inherited, and what this book shows is that the people of Teyvat have always been, and always will be, heirs to a divine legacy — but not to divinity itself.
(also thought it was pretty interesting how capitano calls the gnosis, the gnosis from inazuma instead of "the electro gnosis" or the "gnosis from the electro archon".)
aaand scene. please note that this is all kind of jumbled wild speculation and should not be taken as fact! this is all in good fun.

What is Ars Magica?
Yay!
So, Ars Magica is a ttrpg where you play in mythical Europe, which is 13th century Europe, except that everything people believed at this time exists: dragons, faeries from tales, demons plotting to corrupt humans, the abrahamic god and other mystical creatures.
Mechanically, the main appeal of this game is its magic. All players have a mage character and a non-mage character, and the game offers you great possibilities to create your own spells, enchant your magical objects, look for esoteric secrets or write your own book.
In terms of story building, the game is usually not a party of adventurers going from place to place, but a group of persons that live together in a covenant and have to deal with the covenant's situations and strengths, plus to work on their own ambitions and projects. The covenant itself is practically a character on its own, with its virtues and story hooks.
So, in conclusion, it's a great ttrpg very focused on story (character creation is good for that) and magic. I hope that answers your question!

Abraham the Mage- the first Abraham I've ever know and he won't get out of my head
P/s: Marethyu- Aquaman (Justice League Unlimited) this took me a while to find, maybe cause I always imagine him with a dark green cloak with the hood cast a shadow on his right eye
Oh, almost forgot

i feel like ive just gotten baited into sending one of those "WAIT, KIRBY HAS DEEP LORE!?" asks but please tell me about the magolor christian themes
HELLO. ok it is 2am so i will do the best i can. if this answer is utterly incoherent, blame that.
magolor's whole christian thing has been around since his concept art, which ensured that his design had notable yellow highlights as a nod to the color used to represent judas in classical christian art. (his ears were also originally going to be horns, so there could be some devil stuff there if you squint.)
this doesn't mean much if you only look at return to dreamland 2011. it's simply a clever, blink-and-you'll-miss-it piece of his character design that ties with the fact that he betrays kirby. some fans also found this funny regarding his symbolic link to apples, which he uses as bombs or. uh. microtransaction materials. lol.
however, once return to dreamland deluxe came out in 2023, the game dropped a MASSIVE bomb of their own by providing us with a new, post-game epilogue for magolor. spoilers ahead, obviously. via the epilogue, magolor's link to apples is explored in-depth by putting him through trials where he must collect 5 fruit (apple) fragments, which a game screen implies parallel the fact that magolor tricked kirby into collecting the 5 parts of the lor starcutter. that's essentially his "penance" process.
when magolor finished rebuilding the apple, which is known as the "ethereal alter" in english and the very unsubtle "room of eden" in japanese. the master crown that magolor had betrayed kirby for and stolen from its place on halcandra became a massive gem apple tree final boss. however, the tree itself is not listed as the boss--instead he is fighting the master crown itself.
he ultimately destroys the master crown, which had taken the form of the "forbidden fruit" that had tempted magolor into hurting people, including those he had come to genuinely deem friends, for the sake of obtaining personal power. the gem apple being constructed in the "room of eden" is enough on its own to build a base for a christian theme, but magolor's arc of redeption through either 1. trial and repentance (main gamemode with magolor epilogue; self-imposed; successful) 2. outside aid (extra mode + true arena; extended by kirby; failed) is what allows the christian imagery to shine.
however, his christian imagery chronologically extends past the return to dreamland deluxe epilogue, as that same epilogue confirmed that "microtransagolor" (the green magolor from kirby clash deluxe) is the same magolor from return to dreamland. he nurtures the gem apple seed which he obtained after defeating the master crown in that game. clash deluxe also introduces us to a weekly "magolor day," which, you guessed it, is on sunday, with the first of them occuring on an easter.
the major reason why i connect magolor to christianity in particular rather than all abrahamic religions is the judas connection, the easter sunday thing, and the process through which he repents or "must atone for his misdeeds." while genesis isn't exclusive to christianity, the specific actions which magolor takes along his path of betrayal and redeption mirror make more sense to me as a christian moral tale rather than judaic or islamic for some reason. not sure why, i'd have to unpack that elsewhere.
this isn't to say that kirby is indoctrinating children into christianity or whatever ofc. considering the whole hyness and mage sisters deal in star allies, the connection between kirby and religion as a whole isn't always a positive one. nintendo also tends to avoid real life religions and references to them as a whole in their games likely to avoid controversy and to make their games accessible and understandable to a worldwide audience with a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. that last point is WHY i find it super crazy that magolor has an obviously and intentionally christian narrative.
(also, for the books, i'm not catholic. but 4 years of catholic school and one very catholic grandmother gives me just enough background on the topic to relate it to kirby)

*bursts door open* Mousyyyyyy- I got the Farmer Thoughts™ again. So you know how the Farmer can do magic in the vanilla game, and SVE expands on this concept even further. They can see Junimos, they can transmute metals, they can teleport to another continent. And with the Magic mod, they can blast their enemies with a meteorite or standard Fireballs.
But unlike Morgan, the Farmer was never taken away from their family to train under a more experienced wizard or witch. They lead a regular life prior to Stardew Valley, minus the skeleton in the neighboring cubicle at their job.
I got an idea as to why they could lead a normal life, and I'm sure as hell incorporating that into my Farmer's bio. The Farmer's a late bloomer in terms of magic. They did not show signs of magical talent when they were Morgan's age, which came with a sigh of relief from their Parent. The Parent, after witnessing the tragic death of their mother (RSV Granny) due to a magical curse, wanted their kid safe AT. ALL. COST. and away from anything magic. They most likely never developed any magical skills themselves, or they too are a late bloomer (I like the second option). And they were thinking they were in the clear, finally. ...Until their kid, the Farmer, came to Pelican Town and got involved with Magnus and the Junimos within the first week of them living there. Shit. Bonus:
The Parent got a major grudge against the Cult of the Lady with the Red Tail and said Lady with the Red Tail for being the cause of their mother's untimely death.
While they don't necessarily feel any hatred towards the Wizards of Stardew Valley, Magnus and Mr. Aguar, they still don't trust them fully because of magic. Definitely not a huge fan of Magnus after the Parent learns of the forest magic potion the Farmer drinks.
*Yawn* ♪Ah♪, time to go to sleep in a cosy bed, get ready for tomorrow's work day and- *saw a notification on Tumblr*
Oh! *kicking the blanket away* Fuck sleep - time for thoughts and theories! :D
_________________________________________
I have to say, your thoughts on headcanon almost perfectly describes my Farmer Julian's lore.
As you said earlier, in theory, everyone can manifest magic at different ages: some from early childhood (like Morgan), some a little later or after forty etc. (Julian and the other Farmers), and some will have magic "no awaked" (Julian's father, Abraham, who inherited magic from his father, the Farmer's Grandpa). Given that Julian's parents are aware of the existence of magic, but not in detail, it raises a lot of questions. And Granny's death, according to the RSV lore, could put an end to trust in all things magical, you're right.
Also thoughts about Magnus and Mr. Aguar is so funny 🤣
Farmer's Parent to Magnus: What do you mean my kid drank "tea" made of fly agaric?!
Farmer: Mum/Dad, don't kill Magnus...
Magnus: *praying for his life*
There is also speculation that it was after they moved away that the magic manifested in Farmer because of the Stardew Valley itself. This place full of forest spirits, magic, and monsters can't help but affect residents and visitors alike. Especially those with an innate magical gift, or those who haven't yet developed one.
I still don't quite understand, however - how exactly Morgan was taken from their family and given to Magnus for training. Does the Ministry discuss it with the parents of the gifted child, is the child "persuaded" by promises of teaching interesting magic and tricks, or is the child taken away almost by force and without any compromise? If by force, I can see why Farmer wasn't taken away for training - after all, a child can be persuaded or intimidated, but try to pull that off with a young adult who can still kick your ass. But that's just a theory, I wanted to provide the Ministry not as a completely evil and corrupt society of mages and witches.
#sve#stardew valley expanded#rsv#ridgeside village#sorry if my answer a little messy#it's almost midnight but inwas really exciting about this question about lore and sdv world building#well time for sleep :D#thanks for the ask!#goodnight everyone

A hypothetical god tier for Abraham Van Helsing from Dracula: the Seer of Void.
A Seer of Void is among those who explore knowing and perceiving. They are motivated by others to know the unknown. (x) The Seer of Void hates being wrong and is very independent. (x) They are the Scholar Spy, defined by awareness and secrecy. (x) Their opposite is the Mage of Light. Their inverse is the Witch of Light. They share their personality with the Thief of Light. The Seer of Void would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Flow and Void, reigned over by Nyx (Goddess of Night) or Poseidon (God of the Sea). They would rise to ascension on the wings of bats. (x)(x)(x)

Do we know exactly where it was stated or implied that the royal family of Katolis is coded Jewish? (I’m genuinely excited by this tidbit of information!)
Seven sunsets of morning for King Harrow has similarities to Shiva
Jelly tarts are based explicitly / canonically on hamantaschen, a food eaten during Purim
The show typically prioritizes the worthiness of endurance and survival > glorifying martyrdom (with Viren and Rayla's POVs as exceptions; critique of how parents are wrong to sacrifice their children)
Names like Sarai and Ezran (Ezra), with Sarai being the wife of Abraham and Ezra meaning "to help". There are also many other names in the series taken from Hebrew. Also why I'll never be opposed to Ez or Callum naming their kid Sarai
Some of the concepts from Chassidic Judaism remind me of how the series treats magic / magical words and concepts
The constant themes of questioning and looking for alternative paths, mostly embodied by Ezran and Callum (particularly early on), as well as Harrow (about kingship) and Sarai (about the magma titan) as deep philosophical concepts
How Kosher applies to treatment of animals and how we see tenets of it in series vs in opposition to dark magic
The Great Ones / Startouch elves are seen as gods. The heroes are those who are directly opposing G-d, in this case, with the mage fam / Aaravos / Viren having far more Christian symbolism applied to them. Additionally, critiquing or "being in a fistfight" with G-d is a long held Jewish viewpoint
#thanks for asking#judaism#tdp#the dragon prince#there's probably more but i'm not jewish so i defs missed some#but these are the ones i've found through research#lawchan89#the royal family of katolis

Do all nightfolk share a religion? Are there any religions that are "false", or are there any gods nobody believes in? Does their popularity affect them?
there's no one overarching religion; there's many, many, and all are centered around the outer gods with few minor. there are a near countless amount of gods that have either been forgotten (both hydre and nocturne fall into this category) or 'killed' by other gods, fate-touched heroes, eaten by the worldeater or the thousand-head hydra. nightfolk tend to believe in their own gods, but there are some who believe in others outside of them - abrahamic gods, japanese spirits, african gods and spirits, native american, etc; there's always cultural mixing, of course! - though this is a much, much rarer occurrance and it's not so much about belief as it is that nightfolk gods are, well, nightfolk gods.
they don't really...name? their religions? they name everything else though. but, for example, nightfolk who worship sanguinach the bloodweaver are called sanguinarians (clerics from certain healing houses are also commonly referred to as bloodweavers). nightfolk who worship mausza and the sightless eye are referred to as oracles or fateweavers colloquially, even though both titles are specific to the upper ranks of their clergy. worshippers of spira thornis are simply referred to as thornisians or thornisian hexbreakers (which is a bit redundant since spira thornis is the hexbreaker; nightfolk legitimately do not care). anyone involved with artyr myrdin is referred to as a member of the 'circle'. followers of the face-eater are either hunters, shifters, or weres, and don't call themselves by any special names.
now, i'll say this: if you've noticed, in all my character bios, effectively all my muses hate sanguinarians. they're largely zealots, tend to believe explicitly in vampire supremacy as sanguinach and the nightfather intended, are extremely violent, lots of terrorism and human sacrifice going on there, orgies - it's all very culty. there are regular people who happen to worship sanguinach but are primarily and strictly healers, separating religion from practice and are, y'know, normies about things (some people do adhere to their oaths).
i got off track--
as far as popularity goes - yes and no. it's not so much about popularity or anything like that, but purpose and results. most adherents get some kind of blessing or curse, depending on denomination - but because there are tangible results to their efforts and tenets, rewards even, it's much easier for them to choose who to worship and commit. of course, often times, that's what grandma and dad were, may as well be too - kind of a lot of that actually. some indoctrination, brainwashing even. no one's hands are clean. most try to pick the lesser evil because there aren't really any good options for them, in terms of religion. worshipping the face-eater sounds nice until you (seemingly) randomly fly into a monstrous rage, hunting and killing anything in your path. worshipping sanguinach sounds cool until you're releasing a herd of blackwyrms into a crowd and watching as children get torn to shreds, mhmm. worshipping mausza and the sightless eye's all starry and aesthetic, until you are quite literally silenced, spiritually shackled, and forced to fulfill their wills or risk watching everything and everyone you ever loved die in some fashion.
they're all generally high risk, high reward types, the main six outer gods? yep. most certainly once mages, all of them. absolute pains in the ass-
well, wait. so the whole outer gods thing is in itself a religion, i suppose. i guess there is sort of a framework there, it's kind of like mmm s.kyrim, now that i think on it.
#☿ || Headcanons.#religion /#/ i'm sorry i got rambly#/ skjdfhks but i guess you can see my thought process this way
