The greatest in-ring wrestling for me ever was All Japan 1990 - 1999. With a special note for Bret Hart, because that's my boy.
The best television for my tastes was ECW on TNN. Paul Heyman's editing in general, I suppose. It has to be taped for that to be done correctly, to add a footnote.
Though, I believe a great booker could put together a combination of pre-tapes and live television that hit the mark, mostly correctly.

Awesome vs Tanaka is one of the greatest career rivalries ever
I mean, I don't want to theorize what was done to Awesome's brain as a result of working like this, and I think Tanaka still walking and active is a modern miracle, but yeah. Absolutely enthralling work to watch.
