thinking about if somehow sanji and usopp got shrunk to kids again they’d be inseparable and it breaks the crew’s heart just a little because they know the two are getting to live out their wishes that they were in each other’s lives as kids, even if it’s just temporary

and i imagine the roles being somewhat reversed where sanji is still a clumsy crybaby and usopp’s bravado is still just childish naïveté and innocence. it’s sanji trailing behind usopp this time, either grasping onto his shirt or they’re holding hands because oh, usopp’s just a kid but he’s already a brave pirate! gotta stick close just in case. until something scary (perceived or otherwise lol) happens and then it’s sanji throwing himself in front of usopp to protect him because some thing’s really don’t change, do they?

and of course they’re always playing together and bed time was difficult at first because this was before usopp figured out he was a boy so everyone just assumed usopp would just want to sleep with nami and robin but he throws a fit because sure he doesn’t wanna sleep with all the stinky boys but sanji’s different!! they can’t be separated!! who’s gonna tell sanji the best bed time stories then! (and that’s exactly how they get their pallets set up in the girls’ room. which usopp pushes his right beside sanji’s and they sleep on top of each other anyway)
