Great thing about g/t polyamorous fearplay is that you can have MULTIPLE types of fearplay.

Maybe there’s a couple that finds a scared tiny in a mouse trap, giant A is that delicious brand of unintentionally cold and scary in how distant and strict they are. They don’t know this tiny person? Why are they in the walls?? How many of them are they??? Poor tiny is overwhelmed with questions as the alert and on guard giant A glares down at them coldly (they’ve just got one of those faces).

Then you get the diffrent dynamics of all of them interacting and bouncing off of each other. Giant A telling Giant B to put the tiny down (not out of care for the clearly fearsticken tiny but rather cause they could be dangerous). Giant B telling Giant A to lay off the poor tiny as they cradle them closely. Meanwhile the tiny is just terrified throughout the entire process.

I still cannot overstate just how much I love your Sifstem and CotND AUs!

Sifstem is just, so great, with the storytelling the fluff the angst the ideas, just, incredible. And to top it off it manages to justify MDP as an actual character in a way that makes sense, which is no easy feat. It's a contender for my favorite ISAT AU on the site.

And CotND is a bit... lean, for the moment, but the concept is incredible, Cadence and Loop's dynamic is absolutely wonderful, and the posts there are have been S+++. Did I mention how much I love the concept yet? (I am not immune to oddly specific within-my-interests crossover AUs)

EPISODE REVIEW TIMEEE—

(contains spoilers for ‘How Poopy Got His Poop Back’)

Okay, so I wasn’t actually expecting to like this episode? I guess I’ve always found Mr. Poopybutthole a bit annoying— end credits aside, I think I saw him as a relic from a… less savory time. @dirty-bear-rick-sanchez made me reconsider my stance on bringing him back the other day, and OMG do I completely agree now. I like that they’re taking older ‘lazy’ or ‘silly’ aspects of the show and making them much more serious/fleshed out. Anyway, that being said, I really enjoyed it!

(Plus omg, Gene is my new baby girl)

As always, some things that stuck out to me:

- Beth being a protective mother? Who is this?! Happy to see her stepping up more and more.

- Morty is so angsty and cute and grumpy!!!! Reminds me that he’s getting jaded, but the little coffee stunt was cute. Wish we’d seen more of him, though.

- BIRD DAUGHTER AUGH. Angsty queen. I was SOOOO excited to see her. (Also BP drinking wine? A true girldad).

- I do like that they’re approaching BP in a way that shows how similar to Rick he really is. He’s an alcoholic, the father of a defiant rebellious psychopath, and a downright silly little traumatized dude!

- SQUANCHY MY BABIE! My guy is back! Loved the details of the inside of his house! Kinky lil cat!

- LOL, Rick is so pissy about the Gene and Hugh thing. Love when he’s a petty dude.

- I laughed so hard when they were all tripping. Seeing Birdperson be such a ridiculous character and vibing so well with Squanchy was so funny and nice? Poor Squanchy with his paw, though :(

- It actually made me really emotional to see Poopy Jr. so confused and scared. (Plus that little guy is too cute omg)

- BEST BUDDIES BURRITO BOX 🥺 Justice for Gene!

Anyway, strong opening! Just heavy enough, lots of fun, plus some cool exploration of Rick’s dynamic with his rebel buddies. I thought it was cool to acknowledge that the whole friend group has a drinking problem. I liked the detail that, once again, Rick tried to do the right thing and got shamed into helping someone do something preeeetty shitty. I know it’s because it’s hard to trust that he’s not being shitty because of his past behavior, but if some people don’t start trusting him, this could get pretty regressive again.

Totally wasn’t going feral for BP for like 75% of the episode lmao.

Solid 8/10! Hope we get more Morty soon!

🍒 What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)

My favorite hyper specific ship dynamic is something I call Captain/Lieutenant, which for me is all about constrained intimacy overcoming imbalance... Like my platonic ideal of C/L is younger, inexperienced, but very competent superior in a hierarchy with an older, more experienced, slightly world weary but affectionate subordinate, who have deep love and respect for each other despite narrative conflicts. There is something soooo compelling about that specific relationship dynamic to me. Although I lean into the elements of that which apply to TrapHawk, that doesn't apply v much to them at all lol- they fit a trope I mentally refer to as "Twin Fantasy" after the song by Car Seat Headrest lol. While the appeal of C/L ships to me is in overcoming inequality to find intimacy, the appeal of TF ships is one of instant intimacy, of finding your other half who perfectly mirrors you, who's exactly like you in every way except the ways that make you better.

:3c It's hard to think of the words to describe it jfkfmfm But it is a very specific sort of kinky vibe- I like an edge of kink, but not really scripted out and rigid- a lot of spontaneity, and maybe a little edge of anxiety where the characters don't quite know what's going to happen next, and a little tension around consent- they *could* say no at anytime, but they're not going to, because... And the interesting space after that 'because' to be filled. Even though no sex actually occurs in that fic, TrapHawk HotFerret is probably the purest expression of that vibe I've written so far fldjhdj but my favorite lemon scene to write was Trapper getting fingered in Making the Most of It, which also combines a lot of my favorite spicy tropes...

I also love the concept of him being an ambitious over achiever who's been this popular golden boy all his life, and Hawkeye is the first guy he meets where Trapper is like "I can't be cooler or better than this guy and I don't want to be" and that's what lets him start to relax his mask and be himself... And I really like using him as a vehicle to explore the experience of being closeted.

the more i think about poor things the more i dislike it lol. i think i kept waiting for the horror shoe to drop and it just never came.

when candles says 'it's your body to do with as you wish bella' or whatever i thought it was this really ironic, haunting line to show how trapped she truly is (it's god's body! it's victoria's body! it's candles' body!) and that bella would subvert it by the end. but looking back i think it was intended as a sincere moment to show how decent a guy he is along with his 'your body your choice' slogan shirt and some clap emojis.

it's soooo twisted especially since right before this bella has just met felicity, the Other woman candles and godwin have Also dug up and mangled. i really wanted to learn more about her but she's played for jokes the whole time and belle never gets a second conversation with her. i thought that would've been really fascinating for bella to get an outside perspective on what that early dynamic between her and god|candles looked like but if the last scene is anything to go by it doesn't look like bella has any interest in building a relationship with her. such a wasted opportunity to not explore that.

and candles' response to creating her is just 'we missed you' AUGH ? horrifying! bella calls him and god monsters for it and there's literally no followup. the 'it's your body to do with as you please' bit feels so obviously hollow when like, what happens when bella dies? are they just gonna pluck her brain out again and try again because it bums them out too much? find Another Another girl to do this with? it's soooo fucked and there's such a cool horror thread to follow there but i think they just didnt realise they were writing a horror film? in their frankenstein retelling? god it's so WEIRD

i love the conversation with god where bella talks about being mother and child at once. i wish that's what the movie was about! her relationship with victoria and trying to build an identity from inside her mother's corpse like HELLO . the runtime is so long and it feels like all the interesting stuff is just on the peripherary the whole time, just out of frame. but like we're looking at victoria's face this whole time, hearing her voice! obvs it's not the story they were interested in telling but for Me. the specialest girl alive. i wish they didn't shove that whole plot into the last 20mins, there wasn't any time to really sink their teeth into it then.

i dunno like. even trying to read the film as this bildungsroman exploration of identity and living and life, the final scene just being bella back in her walled garden but now she has her childbride husband and her socialist girlfriend and theyre all drinking martinis. it feels like such a restrictive incurious ending that really soured me on the rest of th movie. All That Shit That Happened Was Fine Actually.

first of all. yejiselle IM NODDINGGGGG THEYRE LITERALLY SO GREAT i love aetzy i love their friendship u literally give them such a fun dynamic even though theyre not the main focus. second of all. i really appreciate the way you explore that quieter, more contemplative side of yeji, like we all know she's a talker but this yeji(all of your yejis really) feels so steady, so calming, so safe. the kind of warmth that puts you to sleep because of how relaxed you feel etc etc. third of all... when ryujin gets a little bit mouthy and then they start a playful banter oh exactly and the ROUGHHOUSING YESSSSSS like u literally get it u literally understand everything

ok back to business. i really like your descriptions of like. scenery. like even just beyond actually describing it the way you do it makes it feel like actual characterization both in the way things in rooms are set up and the way whichever pov character notices and describes things its so great.

i love showing consent and trust and stuff and one of my goals with nmau ryeji is to show like just them having this comfort and compatibility and mutual respect from really early on. like it’s not too hard to get through the slightly messier and more uncertain parts of getting together when the foundation you have is so good and easy! like do they know how to ask each other out? no! is it still worth it to keep trying? i’d say so!

god yeah yeji is SO much more present for ryu than she used to be like early on if yeji wasn’t physically there ryu wasn’t thinking about her so constantly but now…. she’s down just as bad as yeji is lol i love it and that’s what it’s like when you’re into someone… like everything is about them and you don’t even realize it

i really see yeji as such a steady, grounded, emotionally intelligent person. it’s very strange to me when people boil her down to like yapping and being clumsy (which are both parts of her that i adore), but like i think the more and more we get to see of yeji when she’s not in pure like Idol Mode (like in her instalogs) it just proves more what was already clear. she’s like a calm, observant, contemplative person and idk i think that’s really neat. ryujin has literally said if she’s the sun yeji is the moon like… it’s fascinating how little we truly know her (and i will stop my essay on how incredible i think yeji is as a person and continue to keep addressing it in my writing lol i got carried away)

also YES roughhousing is so important like they’re just acting like two kids with crushes which is what they are!! any excuse to get a little physical with the girl you like lolol

okay so i beat the big brain and got the Gale romance ending where he proposes and asks you to go to Waterdeep with him and Ven was like. Uhhh yeah. Duh. Of course. And then it IMMEDIATELY goes into the epilogue and I start hyperventilating. Narrator describes how Gale and Ven are super in love and happy in Waterdeep so already it’s a strong start.

I spoke to Shadowheart first and it was honestly SO nice to hear that she’s living a relatively quiet, peaceful life brewing drinks from apples and caring for animals. Gave her a hug :)

Then I talked to Karlach and immediately cried bc she sounded SOOOO happy to be back from Avernus and WITH WYLL!!! Both of their new armors looked SO good on them, and Karlach saying it’s easier to brave the hells with someone she loves 😭😭😭 AND there’s a chance she can fix her engine and return to Faerûn for good! gave Karlach a hug :) didnt get the option for Wyll idk if it’s a dialogue path thing or what but if it is I missed it :(

Spawn Astarion’s end was EXACTLY how I described their dynamic in the last ask and I was SOOO CHEERED by that! !! I’m happy for him finding something to do that makes him happy. Gave him a hug :)

Lae’zel wasn’t there in person but it really meant a lot to Ven the efforts she went through to send a projection of herself to see everyone at the party :)) Ven is really very proud of everything she’s doing for her people, but will never turn down an opportunity to see her. And then I talked to Gale and Let Me Tell You. Unwell. Unwell about it. I know if you ask him to stay in Baldur’s Gate with you, he becomes a house husband and picks up creative hobbies which is also REALLY good and I Love that a lot. But bc Ven went with him to Waterdeep, he becomes a professor of illusion magic at Blackstaff Academy and I am quite frankly over the moon about that. And he’s so nervous about being there at first but thanks you for dragging him out to see everyone!! AUGH. Whatever.

Also his new kiss animation for this. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever. i dont even caare. (<— cares so much).

And Tara was there!!! I saw for some people she doesn’t show up, I guess that’s if you piss her off if you find her in act 3? But I tried so hard not to piss her off and it paid off!

She’s a bit jealous about having to share Gale’s time bc she is his oldest and best friend, but Venali respects that and is very much fond of having Tara around. I like to think they actually work very well together and Tara even helps Ven with her own research. It’s so so sweet that she wants to have Gale and Ven around more for dinner with Gale’s mom. Ven never had pets of her own, but she loves animals. I think the first time Tara curls up on her lap is considered one of the best things that’s happened to her since moving to Waterdeep.

And that’s another thing, I really think Ven and Morena would get on so well. But I also think she would know about Ven’s wizard persona reputation before meeting her and that makes for a really fun awkward situation where she has to explain the whole thing to her future mother in law.

And Ven and Gale are married in the epilogue!! But Ven would also really want all of her friends there, so To Me they’re still planning the wedding and she invites all of her friends at the party :)

There are also a bunch of letters from the friends you made throughout the game and you’ll never guess! cried. The letter from Hope got me the most , my god. House of Hope is one of THE quests in the game and how it frames hope as a concept through Hope’s character is. good. So that letter definitely got me.

Loved the epilogue. So much. Really really happy Larian added that in, the closure was amazing.
