Finally getting around to this since I'm starting to post more and more content under certain tags.

Hi! My name Is Lex/FrogCereal, I'm an 18 year old neurodivergent COD fan from California, USA, and this is my writing + art account, there WILL be nsfw themes on here so minors please be gone. My shitposting/main account is @frogcereal29 and for my SFW non-cod stuff and Agere content, that is on my @lexssmallspace blog. TWs are added before every fic, if there's something i missed on a piece that you think should be tw-ed lmk right away. Some of my fics are completely sfw, and some are very VERY nsfw, so I always want u to know what ur getting into :)!!

I will write for/draw Nikto, Krueger, Nikodim, Yegor, Gromsko, König, as well as Pyramid head who isn't in cod but is my bbg nonetheless. My drawing skills are also very low-intermediate! I'm still learning so my anatomy/art may not be top notch quality, hope you can still enjoy!

First and foremost my rules are: MDNI. Do not request anything with incest, ageplay, feeding kink, raceplay, piss/scat, politics, or underage. I only write for GN and Fem! Reader. Do not ask me to write for characters outside of my list above, I love TF 141 and others but they just aren't my absolute favorites, so I just don't feel confident writing for them! Apologies💔 i may sometimes lightly write for characters outside my list, but thats at my discretion. Please also be respectful and kind, to both me and others who interact with my content. I'm always open to critique, especially if It comes to writing in other languages or about cultures I'm outside of (ie: russia, austria, litteraly most places outside the US..) but please be kind!! Your Launchpad SHUSH AU and his emotional turmoil has me hooked!

Who is Bruno is your AU? And how does LP get recruited to stay for so long?

Well my dear viewer I’m glad you asked, and thank you! Angst is my specialty. :)

LP essentially get recruited through Beakley/Scrooge tie ins. He’s going through a lot of emotional issues at the moment and was looking for anyway he could make himself feel useful again. And hey, no better way than saving the world right? Of course it’s immediately clear LP is lacking in the “mental catagory” particularly with memorization and such. Physically however the agency is quite impressed, and this alone is what convinced them to give LP a chance. (His past including crime fighting with Darkwing was a big help, and he’d pretty much seen just about anything the world could throw at him thanks to McDuck adventures) They would work on all that other stuff. So he goes through all sorts of tests, physically and otherwise. Morality is something that comes into play as well, and LP who has a heart of gold, can’t help but be wary.

He started training with SHUSH a couple days a month, but was soon attending more and it became more and more unbearable for him to be around the Mallards (mweh heheheh) he could also work on McDuck time as well as both Scrooge and Beakley could tell SOMETHING was clearly wrong and wanted to keep an eye on him best they could. They also backed his alibis when needed if his absence is questioned. To LP’s misfortune, that’s not often.

I have an idea for what gets LP officially hired, but it’s subject to change. So far it’s based on an emotional trigger. Drake has been dating Morgana, the ducks have Della to fly them on adventures, and he’s run away from his own blood family. That’s three strikes buddy. But it’s not till Drake’s proposal to Morgana that LP finally has the nerve to shoot the training dummy head on, no hesitation, perfect accuracy. From there he gets sent on mission after mission, slowly building his credit and whatnot. Eventually he takes a full time position, getting a cover story from Scrooge saying he got “promoted” to an international cargo pilot for McDuck products. So he’ll be gone a lot basically. He also particularly requests he works by himself. He wasn’t exactly excited with the idea of a partner.

Bruno however essentially plays the same role he does in the original Ducktales episode “double-o-duck” but more expanded upon I guess. He and Launchpad are essentially doppelgängers with minor differences here and there such as eye color and hair color. This too was key to keeping LP around for SHUSH purposes, hoping they could eventually use him as Bruno’s double. (And this is what the main story takes places around is him impersonating Bruno who has been captured by the agency a few months prior, giving him plenty of time to fit in)

I think of Bruno as a sort of arms dealer, primarily operating in European continents.

Hmmmmm favorites, I’ve made a lot for tsams in past tho I dunno if you’d be interested in those, right now I have a couple jrwi aus I’ve been thinking about a lot. I can’t believe I haven’t actually posted anything about them but if you’d be interested in hearing me ramble;

I’ve got two bigger ones that I’ve slowly been working on, one I call “he drowned the world” and it’s an au where Gillion, way before the events in riptide, did a big thing and the ocean rose up and flooded the entire world. The people still alive made big ol’ floating cities like boats on the ocean. I thought the idea of the whole land, sea, one will overtake the other prophecy stuff would be interesting to explore. I plotted a mini story in the universe though it still needs lots of plot working before I could ever write and post the actual thing.

The current version has Chip meeting Gillion in a above water prison (I need to figure out a solid reason why he’s there) and then freeing him and sailing on a little mini adventure. There were older versions where Chip was in an underwater air city and Gillion was a royal of some kind but I changed it for various reasons.

I have some designs I drew of Gillion in some outfits for the au, more for the old version but could work with the new;

The other biggish story was one branching off a superhero au I drafted, where Chip, Gillion, and Jay are superheroes and Niklaus is a big supervillain. The branching story was instead of Albatrio being superheroes I made them kids and decided let’s give them to Niklaus and mess around with that. Currently I’m calling it “my villainous children”.

I’ve got some fun plot points thought up with like Chip falling for a hero in training and wanting to play hero to get closer to him and Gillion discovering an interest in heroism himself, with both of them trying to hide it from Nik since Niklaus expects them to become supervillains like him or civilians at least.

Art wise here’s An old design for normal superhero Gill plus a Jay design I had sitting in my drafts for some reason (looks finished idk why I never saved it but I didn’t);

Thinking about it these sound like big projects but they’re very unfinished. they’re cool ideas that I’d love to explore with time, but very likely i’ll lose interest before then, which is why I put these in one off catagory. More accurately one offs I have these guys just singular characters, like I made a design for a vampire Chip, a Vampire hunter Gillion, an Emo Gillion, and a triton Pretzel which I never posted;

None of them have major stories but little ideas that run around in my head occasionally. Honestly I just really enjoy the process of making designs.

so i have this Welcome Home AU that’s been spinning in my brain like its being microwaved

flet me get something out of the way first: i am a big fan of unused content and things that Are Not Supposed To Be There (I mean I’ve watched videos of Pokemon glitches for entertainment) and I do love to snoop around game files for anything cool to uncover (i’d blame games like Undertale and DDLC for that one) so when I decided to dig through some of PartyCoffin’s old content? my brain just went “ooo shiny” like a crow.

 Though I did make sure to check PartyCoffin’s fanwork guide and they did say to not spread old conceptual artwork (Prior to January 2021) so I’ll just talk about it through text instead. Be warned, this might be a long one.

So, I’ve taken to calling this the Scrap AU, because this AU includes some scrapped/old designs and concepts that I’ve thought about a lot. 

Now, First thing you gotta know: There’s Two Wallys (wallies? yeah) where one is that one with the rainbow jacket instead of the rainbow pants which has been nicknamed Walter by myself. This guy represents the religious aspect of Welcome Home that PartyCoffin has since removed which im pretty sure was a thing but i can never tell with my brain.

The other one is a bit more dubious because it’s based off of that art you can see in Partycoffin’s portfolio with Wally wearing that specific suit (no rainbows? :( ) on that chair and quite frankly i’m about as indecisive with what he’s doing as i am figuring out if that art is considered concept or just the other wally in a cool new outfit.

I don’t have too much of a story yet other than that the final designs, the neighbours, weren’t the only one to get hit with the “probably very sentient” juice that their creators gave ‘em, but the concept designs too. those guys just wander around aimlessly, kind of sad that they didn’t get to see the light of day like their other designs. assuming they do meet the neighbours through reasons im not yet quite sure of, some of them would be happy to meet who they would’ve been neighbors with or see who they would’ve become, some are a bit upset and would rather not think about the fact that they’re scrapped designs, and others wish to take the spotlight for themselves (mainly the wally duo) so that they could be the one the kids adore, not realizing that the show hasn’t been on air in ages and basically everyone has forgotten they exist.

well besides from maybe a concept design sally and poppy wanting to help the neighbours and concept design frank being under the kind of upset catagory, that’s pretty much all i got.

oh, and partycoffin, if you do read these, i adore each and every one of your designs you make, complete or incomplete. mostly the complete ones but seeing concept designs is also pretty neat in its own way.

Eira's 7 Children (their problems and their origins)

Imma go out and confess: i messed with the features of the first batch of kids.

I was very early in sims 4 gameplay, i still wanted all my sims to be really pretty paragons (yes Snow White was the pinnacle of cute as a middle schooler, shuddup) so when they came out ugly or fat (yes fatphobic tiny me, i promise im better and working unlearning anything else i got in there) and now whenever i get a sim i just find them all so precious and different im not really bothered by eccentricities.

Also, now that i look at them i'm a little creeped out by them, Just a little.

But yes, i did mess with the features of the first batch of children.

The least offensive ones is that i just wanted all their hair colors to be different so i could differentiate them. This proved not to be a problem for me now, but yeah none of these were like the original hair color.

The other thing is that, yikes, i had kids with townies. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but in case i ever want to divorce the family from the sims, have them live without it as a crutch so hard (like when people make minecraft OCs and later when they write the world for the character is has minecraft mechanics and monsters lmao) so im actually kinda like, if i write a story i don't want their names attached. The biggest offenders of this:

J Huntington III and Travis Scott

Mr. J was the father for the first child, Phoenix. I don't know how it happened anymore. How did that tied sweater work on me to think he was a good candidate ;; __ ;;. As for Mr. Travis, EIRA LITERALLY MARRIED HIM. NO JOKE. I was like "she settles in the end," and ITS HIM. THIS DUDE. It's literally like when there's the super pretty girlfriend (i thought she was super pretty) and she gets with the nerdy dude who people think isn't that attractive. Again, in real life there's other factors but in sims, i was new and hadn't formed any connections with the townies, i didn't know them at all. and i choose this dude to settle her with. Whuff.

Anyways, here's the profile of the 2nd gen as young adults:

VAMPIRE WHITE SKIN FOR LIKE, OVER HALF OF THEM. AND THE HEIR AT THAT ;; __ ;; AND LIKE ONE OF THOSE DON'T EVEN COUNT, HE WASN'T FROM THE GENE POOL. They scare me. Also, you can tell i was trying to lean into CC for Nephele but i gave that up, here lemme get you a non CC ver. Also, lol the clear women preference

Going in order (first pic bundle), we have

Phoenix. He's the eldest, child of Mr. J, and Snow 1.0, and as the first child I love him way dearly. I think he's like, my favorite, straight up. I've also played as him a lot just because he's in the starving artist catagory, and he's gotten the most character changes. I'm still uncertain whether to like, cut things or to merge things for him. His design doesn't change, I think he's cute and im too attached to him to consider it. His bad trait was being gloomy (depressed). To be talked about later.

Lamia, she was 2nd eldest. Her trait was jealous, and she was supposed to be a bitch (im currently playing as her and that kinda fell to the wayside whoops, i'll try harder). Her thing was being a pianist, entertaining at first, party person / aspiring musician. But her aspiration was joke star (._.). Her dad was a randomly generated person randomly named Adrian Buff. No, i didn't save him ;; __ ;;.

Basilisk, eh his age is kinda debatable. He's actually adopted. He was one of the babies you could adopt like, immediately starting a save file. Idk if it's different now, but when i started playing i had made (face palm) made AUs for them like i was gonna start over even tho i was on gen 02, not even that far. But for a while i kept adopting him just because i'd known he was there available in other different saves. ANYWAYS, he's a slob. I made him the stereotype of jock (ew) and he wanted to be an athlete professionally (aspiration body builder).

Next we got the twins, Griffin and Sphinx. TWINS. Challenge 7 kids going quick. Griffin was supposed to dress in black, Sphinx in white. They're supposed to be the genius troublemaker trope, and i had no idea what to do with them. Their dad (exposing myself) was a sim named Jumin Han (jwgelgdlwefnsd) no i don't have the sim saved. Their hair is genetically modified to be red, and their eye color the slightly diff blue shade. ITS ALL FAKE!!!! they were basically the same person, but one was clumsy (griff) and the other lazy (sphinx). They were so alike, i had them marry a set of identical twins at first.

Cindy, Ella, Eleanor, Nephele, was our heir. Also randomly generated sim, I think i have him saved somewhere actually. I remember Kian Cavanaugh's (randomly generated) name because i had her visit him and eventually he died on my lot (old age). Anyways, she didn't have any flaws because, heir (sigh) but she was supposed to be like, chronic foodie. So i honestly should've put glutton ._. (bruj). We'll get to her characterization later. But I didn't want her father to have been the one Snow 1.0 settled with, since i thought that was dumb (little me living for the drama of having different parents, not realizing she had no way to convey the kind of trauma and complex relationships that creates, thx).. I distincly remember her hair being a black (not me white washing her hair huiwlljlg ;;;;; __ ;;;;;)

Youngest and brattiest, Arachne. She got a shit name because she was supposed to be the most hated, the one doted on (because Snow 1.0 settled with her dad (ew travis) that spoils her) and the stand in for evil step sister. She has anger management issues. She was supposed to be bratty, then terrible edgy teen (last picture), and then mellows out, taking her outlet of writing to gain success.

There's the run down, we see what changes i've done (so far) to le Eira clan. I took the liberty of playing as them as teens (children aging up messes up the faces) so they got some relationships due to growing together :3

I'm curious. What's your opinion about "Fix it fic"? The kind of fic where the author "fixing* the problem in the episode. (And honestly I'm not sure why they call it "fix it fic" because from what I can see most of it could fell into "canon divergent" catagory or a "what if")

It really depends on how it's done, really.

So, here's the thing: I find people who clearly present themselves as someone who thinks they can "improve" canon incredibly unpleasant and I want to waste no time reading any self-congratulations the author might want to throw into their work in. Any "take that"'s directed at the source material therefore decrease my enjoyment of a work, as do author's notes constantly complaining about the canon. This was one of the main reasons I stopped reading one of the big AU comics for the Miraculous fandom, because its Fix It traits leaned so heavily into self-congratulatory superiority.

The idea that these people are so unprofessional that they let their personal opinions overwrite everything they write, while they claim to be more professional/better at the job than the professional writers, is just incredibly arrogant and deluded. Like, you think we can't see your bias from space when you literally spell it out in your work? I find those types of Fix It's treat me more like an idiot than any canon ever could.

However, I absolutely adore canon divergence. Any work that takes what the canon gave us and takes it into a different direction. Even if the divergence is motivated by: "this thing actually bothered me in the canon, so I wanted to write something different," I am fully supportive if it is being framed as self-indulgence instead of "the canon was bad so I do it better" smugness. I indulge, everyone indulges, and sometimes your indulgences match with someone else's. But no matter how many people have the same indulgences, that doesn't make the canon bad. "Good" and "bad" are subjective, anything one person doesn't like in a series might be some other person's favorite thing about it.

Basically it all amounts to how insufferable and obvious the attitude behind the Fix It is. I don't wanna get covered in an author's personal issues while trying to have a good time.

The aversion towards seeing too much of the soul life of an author, frankly, is why I can't stand revenge fics either.

Well Anon, first of all hello dear 🥰 and secondly, you have to understand that DinLuke is mainstream; we live in a society where it is acceptable to say openly you read fanfics. Pre-internet I don't believe people went around saying they had fanfiction of this and that without getting weird looks or copyrighted (A. R) right now, DinLuke is thriving because of that culture. I'm sure if Star Wars was made today and ANH dropped with all the actors at the ages they were when they first started, we would see more Skysolo than DinLuke.

Star Wars has been around since the 70s-80s and people surly shipped Luke and Leia before the plot twist reveal and I have no doubt there might have been people thinking about if Vader was a good dad how would he raise Luke and Leia? It's all about perspective.

As for fics, you also need to understand that before Fanfiction.Net a d AO3 you had to go to forums, chat rooms and other exclusive parts of the internet to read fanfiction there was no one big clump website to read thousands of whatever tickled your fancy. And I do have knowledge that there were forums with Dad Vader and Luke as well as other slash works of Luke and Han that are forever gone because the server expired, or people just stopped coming to those sites and they were just taken down due to inactivity.

What draws me to DinLuke is honestly what draws me to any shop in general, it's all about dynamics and how I feel about the fandom. Personally I like the fact that Luke and Din don't interact as much BECAUSE of all the possibilities we can have: do they like each other? Are they going to keep up with the Mandalorians vs Jedi inheritance of hostility towards each other? It also helps that other writers have their own spin on things about the two as well.

Personally, I've been in the LOTR "fandom" since I was 5-6 and it's a core memory of watching the movies when I was little and I'll forever love the characters, stories and adaptations people bring to the table. With Star Wars it's the same, people come and go and I'll always come back to my hyperfixations so it's never dull for me.

As for the abundance of fanfics, my advice is to pick a catagory; for example: do you prefer angst or smut, fluffy or tragic stories? Start there and then read some fanfics and the more you read and categorize tags, such as ABO, or Dom/Sun, or other AUs you'll realize you've suddenly got 30 fanfics in your bookmarks.

I'm sorry that you feel none of your ships are represented, but my advice to you is write what you want to read. Take your own spin on a story you were inspired by and just have fun no matter how popular your ship is. What's important is you write what you like and you'll be helping to grow your ship fic count.

I mean, Mare seeing her favorite big brother Shade receive a super pretty envelope from this strange school saying he is a wizard and is being offered a position in that school? Going to Diagon Alley with her family and Shade picking out a owl, and old faded robes cause he family really can't afford anything else. Then her hugging him tightly as he has one foot on this strange train and one foot on the strange platform that they had to run through a brick wall to get to?! Holding his hand through the window and running along side the train as he promises to write her every week before she runs out of platform and has to stop as the train pulls away and he is waving and smiling wildly at her. Her little hand slowly falling from her wave to be by her side and she wishes desperately to be on that train with him? ONLY TO RECEIVE HER VERY OWN PRETTY LETTER THE NEXT SUMMER? She gets to do the whole process! And she has all these fantasies about what it will be like based on the letters Shade sent her all last year. She wants an owl, or a salamander, or something like that. And she want to play the strange quidditch game he mentions. She wants to run up and down staircases that change. When she gets on the train with him, she practically pulling out of her mom's arms, and almost forgets to hug a very upset Gisa goodbye.

On the train, Shade tells her all the details, introduces her to his friends: ketha (a second year like him), Ada (a sixth year), and Farley (a second year that Mare is incredibly intimidated by until she sees Shade heart eyeing her every two seconds).

They tell her about the houses. Shade is more than proud to be sorted into Hufflepuff even though Farley teases him about it and Ada only smiles at the whole thing. But they all get quiet about Slytherin. It's not a house you want to be in, Shade says quietly. Mare doesn't quite understand. Cunning? what's so bad about being that? Smart and quick witted? Hell, there's nothing wrong with it.

Then she meets them. The Slytherins. And she sees why she shouldn't be a part of that House. But then she meets the strange, dark haired, blue eyed boy at the back of the group with her, who tries to sit in a boat alone until Mare clambers in behind him, cursing the fact that her socks got wet and they're going to be gross and her shoes will squelch while she walks. He seems a little uncomfortable around her big personality until she introduces herself, and he smiles and shakes her hand, quietly introducing himself as Maven. Nothing more. Mare doesn't mind, loads of people don't give their last names.

Then she's in the Great Hall, underneath the Sorting Hat, Shade smiling at her like a fiend from the Hufflepuff table while Maven is already sitting at the Slytherin one, slouched and looking just a bit upset. (It's not what you think y'all. it's because CAL's a Gryfindor, and their dad was too and he still wants to get his fathers love, and he pretty much just CEMENTED the fact that he won't get it now.) Mare sees him, and the Sorting Hat huffs and says, making friends already? Mare frowns and then thinks back it: he's lonely. And the hat laughs before saying: loyal then, hufflepuff might do you well. She makes a face and it laughs once again when she thinks: I can do better than that. And it seems to nod in understanding before standing upright and announcing SLYTHERIN. Maven sits up taller as Mare leaps down from the stool and runs to him with a big, shit eating grin on her face. Shade goes a little pale in the face but smiles at her nonetheless. It's his baby sister, and if she's happy, he is too.

She's very happy. Slytherin isn't all that bad. Maven's her friend and he's a very good one. He's smart as a tack, and knows all these neat tricks to get through work. But its when they go out to fly on the brooms where they differ finally. Maven is... not a fan of being off the ground. Mare... she could live up there. She tries to get him interested but he jut won't have it, preferring to bury his nose in books and study. (Mare wonders why he wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw like Ada, but she shrugs it off).

It's one day when they're all out walking and that girl Evangeline starts teasing some kid and throws his whatever in the air that things finally get interesting for Mare. In a very impressive showing of skill, she catches this tiny object while flying. IMMEDIATELY, the captain of the Slytherin team wants her as his Seeker. Its UNHEARD OF everyone argues. NO FIRST YEARS allowed! But it's vetoed, and Mare is allowed to play. Shade is more than proud, puffing out his chest, and forcing her to walk around with him so he can introduce her to his class and everyone as the youngest Seeker in years.

It's after she is sneaking out of the Gryffindor tower one night, having stayed to talk with Shade and Farley who is finally losing some of her Ice Queen exterior and even cracked a smile at one of Mare's jokes, that she almost gets in trouble. She is sprinting down the stairs of the tower when she runs smack into someone so they both end up tumbling down the stairs and hitting the back of the Fat Lady's portrait when they land. She stumbles over apologies, trying to grab her things in the dark (and pocketing one or two of his by accident), when she looks up. She's seen him before, she know she has, but can't remember from where. Plus, it's a little dark and she can't see him all that clearly. He's sitting there, tie undone, and shirt all messed up from falling, and rubbing the back of his head where it hit the back of the portrait when he looks at her. HE knows her. This the girl who is the youngest Seeker in years! They blink at each other, and she tries to take off, but he grabs her wrist, keeping ahold of her as he says: Thief! when he realizes she grabbed a few of his things. She looks down at the mess of things in her arms, and then frowns at him before saying, No! These are my things! he pulls out his wand and book from her hands and she's like: okay, well, those aren't mine, but whatever. And he smiles at her as he stands and she's suddenly craning her neck to look up at him, and LORD ABOVE what did he eat as a child?! She squints up at him, still trying to place him when he shifts his things to his other arm and holds out a hand for her to shake. She looks at it, and then takes it slowly. His grip is so warm and comforting, but not sweaty like some of the other boys her age. He shakes her hand and introduces himself as Cal, and THEN Mare knows who he is. This is Maven's brother. The older one, the perfect spitting image of his father who is the "Perfect Son." Maven always sneers just slightly when he says that, and now that she has met this Cal, she knows Maven is right. Turning up her nose at him, she spins on her heel and leaves, completely uninterested.

Okay she lied, she was a little more interested than she let on. She sees him EVERYWHERE after that. He raises his brows at her in the Great Hall, and even smiled and said good morning Mare when she walked by with Maven to Charms one day. After that day, Maven gets really sullen, and tells her that she shouldn't talk to him, that he's trouble. He's a third year, in line to be Prefect and Headboy at some point. She doesn't want to get mixed up with wet blanket like that. She agrees, but something about him, his eyes, the gentle smile, and way he'd looked at her the first time he saw her makes her heart do a little jig every time she thinks about him.

Before she knows it, its the first Quidditch match, and she's set to play. She steps out in her beautiful green and black uniform, and while she's in the tunnel adjusting the straps on her wrist guard with her teeth, someone laughs behind her and says: there is a better way to do that. She looks up, the laces half in her mouth, and a tiny bit of drool running down her chin to see Cal leaning against his broom. Of course he plays Quidditch, she thinks with a scowl. What perfect son wouldn't? He takes her wrist though and ties the guard gently, pulling the laces perfectly through the loops. Maven tried to help her with it this morning but gave up when he couldn't do it. Her face burns with embarrassment but he doesn't notice, or at least, he pretends not to notice. When he finished both wrist guards, he shoulders his broom and with a wink says, "eyes up and head up, dont want to take a Blunger to face on your first day." He strolls away after that, and Mare stands there, watching his shoulders as he leaves. How does a thirteen year old boy manage to look like that?! Shaking it off she steps on the pitch but... that's all she remembers. She takes a nasty blunger to side of the head and falls to the pitch floor. When she wakes up, the entire Slytherin team is around her and so is half the Gryfinddor team, Farley is grimacing as she takes in the situation, and Cal is leaning over her, shielding her from the son. She frowns up at him before saying, "you didn't say they moved that fast." He snorts to hide a laugh as the medics take her off the pitch. Good news? She learns later in the Infirmary, they won! When she went down, Cal, the Keeper moved as if to go to her and they were able to put the Quaffle in to get the final point! Her captain claps her on the back, and she tries not to puke when the movement jars her head.

The year ends uneventfully, and she waves goodbye to Maven as she disembarks and he leaves with Cal. A woman with matching icy blue eyes and stark, ash blonde hair frowns at her as Maven smiles and waves his own goodbye. She pointedly ignores Cal's title wave goodbye.

The next year is much of the same but there is a... current in the air, a charge that wasn't there before. Something is happening, something dark in the world. Shade and Farley go to Hogsmead and talk about it, but Mare can't go yet. She sits in a hidden alcove of the Astronomy tower, watching the world outside with her books open before her. Maven is quieter this year, but there is a strange new confidence and glint in his eye. It worries her. He is not the boy she waved goodbye to at the beginning of the summer.

One day while studying, she hears footsteps and looks up to see Cal pausing along side her. Her stomach flip flops when she sees him. The summer did wonders for him. Somehow, he is more attractive. She didn't even realize that was possible. And she REFUSED to admit that she thought about him a few times... well more than a few times... over the break. He smiles at her and before she knows it, she's leaning toward him to talk. She asks why he's not at Hogsmead and he grimaces before saying he is struggling with Diviniation and has to take an extra class on it every week. She laughs, and the smile he gives her when she does laugh turns her stomach to molten lava. He helps her out of the windowsill and they walk to the Great Hall together. Maven intercepts them before then, his eyes narrowing and darkening when Cal waves goodbye and heads on his way. Mare nudges Maven with her shoulder and teases him saying: are you worried I might like him more than you? Maven glowers at her, and she softens before taking his hand and promising him that Cal is "a complete and utter moron, who she could never like." It seems to relax him, but not completely. Again, Mare worries. He was never concerned about Cal or any of this before.

The year works that way though. She slowly get closer to Cal. They have this strange unspoken agreement to meet at HER windowsill once a week and then walk along the ground by the lake. One day, in the winter, she forgets a thick enough coat, and is shivering in her sweater until he shrugs off his cloak and drapes it around her shoulders. She blinks in surprise, before smiling and thanking him. It's far too big on her and drags on the ground a bit, but its warm and it smells like him. Which she is terrified to realize she kind of likes.

She starts spending time in the Gryffindor tower too, getting closer with Shade's friends, and sometimes, Cal is there too. He's not really a staple (he and Farley don't really get along, something about her calling him a Pure Blooded Hypocrite), but Mare finds she likes when he is around.

That summer is terrible. Maven doesn't write her as much as he promised. And the world is getting Dark™️. There are strange disappearances on the TV. Things are getting weird. Shade gets secret letters from Farley that he hides from her. When they go back to Hogwarts, things are... different. There are guards, there weren't Guards before. Maven looks more gaunt and haunted. Even Cal doesn't seem as cheery anymore. They're walks around the lake go from once to twice to three times a week. He tells her about his side of the Wizarding World, and she learns about a group that is known as the Death Eaters (who serve a mysterious Dark One that wants to eliminate the muggle population and the mud bloods). Mare frowns when he says that word. He says it quietly, like its something bad. She's not sure why, it's a word. When she asks Farley about it, her friend's face hardens and she tells her it's a nasty term that Pure Bloods use to describe the people like them. The ones who come from non magic families.

She finds solace in Quidditch, she even goes out when Cal offers to show her a few tricks, and that time... it is strangely magical. She finally gets to go to Hogsmead, and spend time with Shade and Farley there. They have a new little group, a taller fifth year named Tristan is added, Ada is with them, Ketha, and a couple of others. Shade tells her to go off and find something to do one time and she ends up spying on them. When she does, she overhears them talking about the Dark One, that they are back and that is the reason so many Muggles are dying and disappearing strangely. That Hogwarts might not be safe anymore. She confronts Cal about it one day, and he stops dead in the snow, spins on her and says never to talk about it. That the Dark One is dead, has been dead for year and that she should never mention them. She is taken aback, he's never seemed so concerned to desperate before. So she drops it. But things get worse over christmas break.

When she returns, Maven is almost cold with her. She tries to tease him like she used to, but he just isn't having it. She clings tighter to him, worried that things are not going well at home. She knows his mother isn't great, knows his father is an asshole. She can't understand how two people like that managed to make someone like Maven, and someone like Cal. But she tries her best to be a friend for Maven. She can't help but get closer with Cal. Something about him draws her in, and keeps her.

One day at Hogsmead, she runs into him (literally, again). She slips on the ice and he catches her, his hands grabbing her hips and pulling her close so she has to grab the front of his coat and cloak to keep herself upright too. They look at each other for a long time, confused and full of butterflies before she spots Maven at the other end of the bridge. She was supposed to meet him at the sweet shop but was running late. His eyes narrow ever so slightly at what he sees, and Mare pulls away from Cal glaring at him and adjusting her hair when he blinks in confusion. She turns on her heel and leaves without a word, taking Maven's hand in her own as she passes him and dragging him along.

That summer, something changes fundamentally in the world. The world actually gets even Darker. Shade gets more worried, and Farley starts showing up at thier house. Mare know they are seeing each other. But she keeps it to herself. When they go back to Hogwarts... there are Guards on the train. She walks down the hallway and runs into Cal on his way to his compartment. The train rocks as she is trying to pass him and she ends up in his arms again. She's fifteen, and he's seventeen, old for a sixth year. But in his Prefect uniform, he looks quiet attractive, and somehow he got MORE attractive over the summer. The flutters that had once been nothing but tummy flutters when she was elven/twelve are now full blown butterflies in her stomach. She would never admit it, but she had a dream about him over the summer. About his hands on her hips and the stone wall of the Gryffindor common room rubbing against her back as she pinned her to it. She doesn't pull herself out of his arms right now though, there is something comforting about being in his embrace right now, when the world seems to slowly falling apart around them. He lets her go, a falsh of something in his eyes before he smiles at her and says, safe travels.

When they get to Hogwarts, she knows there is something wrong with Maven. He looks like a corpse, his eyes are dark and his features are sharper than usual. She tries to get him to smile for her, but he can't seem to muster much. So one day, out of desperation, she kisses him. He melts finally, and she melts with him, burning like Icarus when he got to close to the sun. They become... a thing for lack of a better term. He clings tightly to her, pulls her away from Farley and Shade and her friends, pointedly makes sure she doesn't spend time with Cal to the point where he actually seeks her out one day, and Maven jeers at him until he leaves. It scares her, he was never hostile, never a person like this. When she talks to him about it, he raves about things she doesn't understand. An In fact, he seems almost angry with her. She can't understand, she tries to get it out of him halfway through the fall, and he turns around and calls her a nasty Mudblood, jeering at her about the fact that is lucky he even considers her a friend. It breaks her heart, shatters it into a thousand pieces. She didn't kiss him just because it might make him feel better. She kissed him because she wanted to, because she thought it felt right (she also did it because a secret part of her hoped that kissing him would make the dreams about Cal stop.)

She stops hanging around him, the other kids like him and the other Slytherins embrace him instead, folding him into their group, while she starts to gravitate to Shade and Farley again.

they go home for Christmas, and the world tilts completely on its access. There is horrible accident that kills a number of families, and Shade immediately packs a backpack that night to go see Farley. Mare forces him to take her with him. When they get to Farley's, everyone is there, all the people Shade has been friends with. She learns they are forming a group, the Scarlet Guard, to defend themselves. The Dark One is coming back, and they will be ready.

When they return in the spring, the teacher for Defense Against the Dark Arts does not prepare them right. Mare feels like a child being handed a pair of children scissors to solve a grown up problem. She talks to Shade about it, and the group agrees. They need training. It's then that Mare does what cements her fate with Maven. She seeks out Cal. He is not looking too great either, there is something haunting his face and when she finally walks up to him one morning on the lawn near the lake, he looks at her suspiciously. She doesn't know why but she ends up curled against his side, sobbing. He's taken aback at first, and then soften, wrapping an arm around her while she tells him everything. With a tight jaw, and a nod, he agrees to help them training.

They form a secret group, and they start training. It's then that Mare starts to realize that perhaps she likes Cal more than she lets on. he's a good teacher, a very good one, and whenever he holds her hand and guides her wrist through a complex spell movement, she feels her face heat up. He's a sixth year, seventeen and on the cusp of greatness it seems. His OWLs were outstanding, he is set on the path she knows he wants. They train together privately. On a nondescript day like any other, she stays after to talk to him, and when she does, he kisses her. It turns her into a pool of liquid mercury, and when he breaks it off and gently caresses her cheek with his thumb she knows she is doomed.

They leave for the summer, and she writes him daily. He writes back, telling her about things happening at home. There are issues, his father is stressed, his step mother is being cagey, and Maven... he's not himself. She worries, Shade is a sixth year and she's just a fifth year, but the world feels like it is resting on their shoulders.

When they come back to school in the fall, Maven confronts her. He found the letters she wrote to Cal. He accuses her of a number of things she is horrified by. Cal steps in to push him back, and in a horrible moment, Maven draws his wand and puts to Cal's throat. The brothers stand like that for a moment, and Mare with her hand on her wand fears who she will have to point her own wand at. But Maven drops the wand, and that is that when he storms off.

The Scarlet Guard grows in number. And then it happens right before they leave for Winter Break. The earth shattering, horrible truth. The Dark One returns, and no where is safe. Hogwarts is under attack before anyone knows what is happening. Mare is fighting through the halls, throwing out hexes and charms she never thought she would have to use. She battles her way to Cal, who takes her hand and pulls her close. The Aurors arrive but they are not enough. Shade, Farley, Mare and Cal storm the upper tower. Cal makes them stay below in the hidden crawl space because Maven is up there and he can hear his father. When he gets up there, it is not what he thinks. Mare and Farley and Shade watch from below in horror as Elara uses the Imperius Curse to actually turn Cal on his father so he kills him. When that happens, the truth is revealed. Elara is the Dark One, or the new chosen Dark One among the Death Eaters. Mare storms up the steps before Elara can kill Cal, using the one spell she knows might end the duel. But Maven steps in and they end up dueling. With tears steaming down her cheeks, she tries to fight him off. But he is not fighting to stun her, he is fighting to kill her, to put her out of commission. She is disarmed, and in a horrible moment, thinks he will kill her. Elara is cooing at him to do it, to punish her for loving his brother instead of him. She pleads with him silently, begging him with her eyes not to. His lips twist as he struggles with the decision. It's too long, Shade and Farley get up the steps and force Elara and Maven to appirate away.

The world cracks open like an egg as war spills out after that.

Not me finally posting my arcane au’s lmao

so if you look at my au masterlist post, you’ll note that about a week ago I’ve added the catagory Arcan/lol with two au’s- Never One Without The Other and Dog Teeth! this is much more lighthearted of the two, dog teeth, which came about from me not wanting to draw human children following Jinx around in one of @dragonshoard ‘s au(check them out 🔪🔪🔪) and creating a Jinx cat design for it(which quickly followed with Ekko and Vi lol) and then completely spiraled out of control into this lmao.

basic info is that in this au, everyone has a ‘soul form’(which, btw, is not a spirit animal)- this soul form basically boils the person down to their base instincts and personality- v similar to a daemon au, except the character is the animal and do not become a separate entity. 

as a kid, your form is not ‘settled’, and as such you resemble a blend of your parents souls. you also can’t keep your height- which is another thing: when shifting into ‘soul form’ you have two options: True form/naked form/honest form(it changes its name depending on the region/slang)- which is when you take your size that is true to the animal you are. this form is stronger in terms of, say, if you were a grizzly bear you have the strength of one, but is incredibly vulnerable when touched because when in this form you are laying yourself bare. your soul has no protection, and any injuries hurt. 

due to this, most remain in their ‘false form’ or ‘sheltered body’, which, while weaker, doesnt risk scarring you down to your soul when injured. it’s the same height as the person is in human form, which is why its also often used for intimidation factors. 

kids ‘settle’ into their souls at a wide range of ages, from some as young as five to others as old as thirty. it generally happens after a big event in a persons life that solidifies thier opinions of themselves. 

soul forms have been known to change on very rare occasions, however it requires something to completely alter a person’s entire personality and worldview

most kids settle in their mid to late teens

soul forms also keep the key features of a person- parts of their hair style, your scars, and any tattoos will translate over(this is why cait in soul form has her bangs+ponytail and why vi has her scars+tattoo)- so its not the most effective if your looking to go unrecognized sm one.

plus a persons soul form is common knowledge, and its socially acceptable to ask smone what they’re form is upon the first meeting(it is not acceptable to ask to see it tho, nor to touch a friend when they’re in their true size)

generally only family/close friends/long term partners are allowed to freely touch smone in their true size

and now to the shit anyone reading will actually be interested in lol: how this affects the arcane story! 

so this much more falls under the ‘fix-it’ tag than most my other stories do, and you’ll note if you’ve read my masterlist summaries, this one is not labeled as notSilco!friendly(which, yes, i will clarify in all my arcane au’s cause i know how divided this fandom is lol). Instead, this au is a dad!silco au who has a queerplatonic relationship with Vander after finding Jinx in her true size having a mental breakdown lol

Greyson: Red tailed hawk, settled at 23 when she killed the previous sheriff to get his title. 34

Marcus: Broad winged hawk, settled at 19 when he first joined the enforcers and was heavily pushed to be Greyson’s partner due to their similar souls. 20

note for settling situations: I plan to expand on all this of these either with art or a oneshot, so they’re only the barebones/vague info.

Who is a person and who is a thingymabob? -Smile For Me

Alright, list of experiment-beasts:

The Snaktooth crew, Floofty is the only one who’s kinda human-sized and able to walk around and is actually sorta part of the scientists. The other grumps are still with the same smarts as they would be as regular grumpuses, they’re just big funky animals who walk on four legs. Floofty is the special one, Snorpy is jealous. Wambus has been locked in the Bad Experiment Box before because he tries to bite Floofty or anyone who tries to do tests on Triffany. Lizbert is the same with Eggabell. The grumpuses weren’t supposed to have actual names, none of the experiments were, but they all came up with their own names because they’re so intelligiant, and well fuck man who’s gonna stop em’. Call the big fluffy orange one Wiggle, she likes it for some reason.

The Wrights, they have their dragon parts out more, it takes more energy to look fully human, and the big ol’ habitat they were given has many high up places that are fun to sit on, so they like to fly up there. They claimed one of the caves and whenever they sleep they just pile in there, it’s kinda cramped but they don’t really care. It’s cozy. Miles played chess with some of the scientists a couple times, he beat them every time. He’d literally never seen a chess board when they first played, but he still beat them. 

Tatiana is a dragon lady as well, she has more of a unique look (aka, none of the httyd dragons), and by that extent so is Mayday, and Tati’s brother/her brother’s wife. Nick and Chrys proved that the experiments could have kids, since the other kids were all lab-made.  Yes May is an adult, this takes place over a long period of time

Kipo has a similar story to her canon one, but this time she gets to keep both of her parents the whole way. Lio and Song are actually hiding her from the other scientists, because they’re starting to dislike what the others are doing with the experiments. Sure, the beasts get these big pretty enclosures, they get properly fed, but they also get mistreated quite a bit. Kipo doesn’t like being kept hidden most of the time, but she can’t exactly fight it. She doesn’t want to get stabbed with needles and put through tests.

Zuke is just like the Zuke from my Creature!Zuke AU (West is creaturey too, obviously), but now he can transform into a neat animal. Tatiana is kinda really protective of them, so when the scientists take Zuke or his big bro for testing/check ups, they have to make sure they time it right, or the angry dragon mom will attack.

The Diamonds have their own gigantic enclosure they’re kept in, basically they’re just giant dragon-y beasts (think corrupted but instead of having been corrupted they were just made that way), they also still hold a lot of intelligence, and they’re super attached to Steven, so they always have to be tranquilized or distracted when the half-dragon boy is taken away, just to avoid rampaging gigantic monsters.

Eda has her own little enclosure with King and Lillith, they’re birb beasties and King is their feral tiny animal brother. Eda just likes to fuck with the scientists, they don’t enjoy it as much as she does. Luz and Amity are sorta like interns, Luz accidently got adopted by the owl beasty mom and she’s decided to not tell her mom. Willow interns here too, but she’s part of the ‘let’s fuck with plants’ area, rather than the beast area. Yes I’m going with the idea that Yinu and her mom are part of the plant area, since they’re plant people, they fit into the beast-experiment and plant-experiment catagories, so they just hang out in the plant area. Gus is still their friend, but he doesn’t go there, they’re just pals who talk a lot. He visits sometimes, but he’s never allowed to go very far. Luz has snuck him in to see Eda sometimes.

I could see Alphys being like Floofty, a beast experiment who became one of the scientists. Idk what I wanna do with the other monsters.

Kamal is one of the scientists, don’t ask why. I just think it fits him. im still working on the scientist half

First, I want to apologize because I do not speak French. I have not studied it a day in my life. Actually, I went to Catholic School and then went on to become an English major so the two languages I have studied (Latin and Old English) are... Uh... Dead. Incredibly useful skillset there. I ran this through a translation app, but you know how those can be. So if I have failed to understand something, I am horribly sorry.

But I think what you're getting at is that I am misrepresenting Dragon.

Part of this is that it's a family in joke (I go into more detail on it here, although a lot of it is reminiscing) but it basically comes down to:

The whole reason I watch One Piece is because my younger siblings do and they love it enough that they were willing to rewatch it again from the beginning. I love the show now, but if this weren't true I would have never started watching it.

When we were watching it together, we started jokinh about Dragon being a dick and terrible father. And once something becomes a family joke, it becomes a touching stone for our memories and it stays established. We also have a joke that, "he (whiteboard) is a large human, his lungs are in his thighs!" That is something I know Tumblr could never fully appreciate, but everytime there is a character who falls in that 'not actually a giant but obviously too tall to be a real human' catagory I think to myself "they're a large human, they're lungs are in their thighs!"

So on the one hand, there is that. If is a simple case of referencing a family tradition that the test of the universe might not get, but that is very much what One Piece is for me.

On the other hand, though, I do just kind of think that Dragon comes off as a dick.

I know that is a personal opinion but, to me, dude just does not seem like he cares. At all. Nothing about him comes off as a guy who has ever put Luffy ahead of his himself or even given him a particularly long think. I believe you said that the revolutionary army doesn't make kids fight and - take this with a grain of salt because I have no knowledge of the manga, I am not fully versed in the series, the only thing in One Piece I could be said to be an expert on would be Zoro's shirts, Romance Dawn through Dressrosa. That's it.

So I don't know what it might say about the revolutionary army in the manga or in the future but like this scene:

That is completely 100% an adult yelling at small children that those who cannot fight won't be kept.

Which is also just part of my problem with the revolutionary army. Like, I ADORE Sabo and Koala, and I don't know if it's a translation thing (I want it to be some kind of mistranslation so desperately) or what, but their whole message of, "we help those who help themselves" is pretty messed up. I mean, really, it's nice that some people have that option but if you are looking for people to help maybe start with those who have had everything including their will to fight taken away.

Just seems that, for a revolution, they are looking to help a kinda privileged group.

Even if Dragon left Luffy for a good reason or to protect him or whatever, he still - keyword - left the kid. To be raised by bandits in a LITERAL trash fire. And, hey, turns out the matriarch of those bandits actually really cared (which is nice because it's become increasingly clear that no one else in those boys lives did) but Dragon wasn't exactly checking in, there is no way for him to have known that.

And if Dragon really wanted to protect Luffy from his enemies there were surely better ways than handing him over to Heal, who knew who he was, and told people (but not Luffy, not for like 17 years). That's actually the worst of the possible solutions because he's STILL connected with you but he doesn't know it.

I have no problem with anyone who does like Dragon. I have had this conversation with someone who is a very big fan of the character and they were super nice. I don't know you, but your question didn't come off as rude so I assume you're a chill person. It's just that my personal opinion of the character is that he's a dick and a terrible father who has shown no real interest in Luffy - every single "adopted" member of Luffy's family has shown way more dedicated to him - and so whenever he comes up and especially when he comes up just to ignore Luffy, I'll probably mock him a bit.

And Dragon isn't the only character where I'm probably in the minority in terms of how fans feel about them. I don't like Sanji at all. Every time I think, "Oh actually Sanji might be pretty cool" he'll turn around and do something just blatantly transphobic or misogynistic and I'll remember, "oh I ain't got time for that". The big difference is that he is one of the favorite characters of my siblings so I usually just ignore him instead of mocking him or just try and stick to pointing out the cool stuff because, again, they're the whole reason I watch the show. Obviously, my opinion on Sanji in no way changes my opinion on my siblings.

Basically, yeah, I do think Dragon is a dick. I can explain why but it doesn't have to mean anything. I have nothing against people who like him, I am completely just joking around and really I doubt my opinion is changing anyone else mind either, so....

WHY IM GLAD YOU ASKED. this is part one since i got three asks

ok so kassandra has ikaros as a pet and hes baby but what if animals just LOVE kassandra. Ill kinda organize the ideas in catagorys

Regular animals:

Regular animals treat her as if shes one of them, in a friendly way. 

Wolves are chill with her being around provided she doesn’t hurt them and doesn't do anything to directly affect their territory. Mother wolves will still be somewhat protective of their pups but the pups always LOVE her and just crawl all over her all the time

Animals like deer, goats, ibex, etc don't get skittish when she comes around. They stay laying down or grazing and as long as she doesn't move too quickly or smth they will let her pet them and feed them

If shes just chilling in a swampish area, the herons will come and inspect her, and let her feed them

Snakes don't strike or try to choke her, she often has to keep them from crawling all in her armour or near her weapons because they get a little too curious

bears snuffle up to her and try and steal any food she has on her, and their cubs always love her though the mothers are more protective than the wolf moms. 

Peoples pets and livestock always come up to her just to say hi in their own ways and its painfully annoying for farmers tbh

Fish still fuck off when she swims bc they're fish Idk what to tell you

Sharks don't attack, they let her touch them but they don't actively like,, try and play with her or anything

dolphins always jump and do tricks beside the ship just to show her, and sometimes he swims with them and her whole crew is just amazed. 

Alpha animals

I headcanon that alpha animals are significantly more intelligent.

in most cases, this intelligence translates into alpha animals immediately LOVING HER 

Like you know the big silver Alpha wolf on Paros? he saw her and just would not stop barking and licking and she was never able to shake him again. He just followed her to the ship and became a permanent partner by her side, like Ikaros.

The alpha bear was sure to follow her when she was around, but when she would go into a big town or get on the ship she would wave and he would go home. He gets all happy when she visits him though

The alpha lion is BABY. He is literally such a cat. He follows her just as the bear did, and doesn't like big cities but has no problem boarding the adrestia. Highly he loves it tbh, he will lay his head in the lap of whoever is sitting on the bench while shes driving the ship and lay on the bed when she sleeps. Unlike the wolf, he wont always go with her. Sometimes he chooses to just chill on the Adrestia while shes exploring and watis for her to get back
