#AT LEAST be honest about the reason

So I just realized something that’s total bullshit with the post-timeskip character designs in One Piece.

Everyone’s pissed about how everyone got like ten shades lighter, so Toei or whoever goes “Oh well the dark-skinned thing was just a design error that we couldn’t just stop for no reason, so we waited until timeskip to properly fix it”

But I realized that that is BULLSHIT

And that’s because of ROBIN

So pre-timeskip Robin looks like this, right?

She has the kinda darker skin and blue eyes

While post-timeskip Robin looks like this

Still with the blue eyes but now the way lighter skin, like everyone else

Like I said before, this is because APPARENTLY, back in the day, the anime’s designers didn’t know the official color scheme for Robin back when she first appeared, so they made her look the way she did. Apparently that sorta thing just happened a lot. (Like with Vegeta in that one filler episode of DBZ) So they made her lighter skinned with the intention to “fix” their mistake, along with a few other characters, to properly match the manga

Except it still doesn’t match the manga

In the manga, Robin’s eyes

Are brown

Maybe her skin is a little lighter, but she still doesn’t have blue eyes, which Toei deliberately kept for Robin’s post-timeskip design

And there’s even at least one movie where they also use Robin’s original color scheme, Strong World

Where they keep her brown eyes and not QUITE Caucasian skin tone. It’s definitely still lighter, but it doesn’t seem quite as light as post-timeskip

In conclusion, while I can’t say for sure what the motivation was behind this, I can certainly think it pretty loudly, and I think that it WASN’T just to fix their “animation design errors”

So TL;DR is that Toei really just wanted to make a bunch of the characters lighter skinned for WHATEVER reason and tried to use “manga accuracy” as an excuse and that excuse is bullshit

So I heard we were redesigning the Scooby gang for funsies. And character design is my passion so… Have this college au!

I honestly think that Velma would be the only one who’s actually a criminal justice major or going to school for a similar field, but I also think she’d minor in like robotics or something. She’s got a full scholarship bc she’s like a super genius or something.

Daphne is a fashion design major but dabbles in a few other things when she isn’t doing mystery stuff with the gang. I’ve always seen her as a jack of all trades type who can pick up skills p easily tbh. She’s just girlboss like that. Also the fact that Shaggy wears socks and sandals drives her nuts.

Fred is a theater kid and if you think otherwise you’re wrong. Idk much about theater majors but I think he’d focus more on the technical side of things, but he’s still a pretty good actor.

Shaggy just seems like they’d be the type to be a culinary arts major bc y’know… food. He’s also on the college track team bc that also makes sense to me. And Scooby is their emotional support dog. Anxiety service dog??? (I’m not all that familiar with the terms and what is considered like a service animal or not so I’m so sorry if that’s not correct.) Also baggy clothes to hold all the snacks.

I imagine that the gang is still solving little mysteries while in school since chaotic stuff just gravitates to them via the power of being main characters, but I also think it would be fun to have like an overarching mystery as well. And I think it would include the gang noticing that despite the normal lifespan of a dog, Scooby doesn’t seem to be getting any older…

Sejanus is like Chappell Roan in the sense that he was only ever meant to be loved by queer people, but it got out of hand, and now there’s way too many cishets who don’t get him, expressing opinions about him.

Sejanus I’m sorry that your character keeps getting absolutely murdered and turned into everything you’re not, just cause a bunch of straight girls wanna fuck the actor who played you in that horrible adaptation, and keep projecting their fantasies onto you, and aside from how bad that is, they won’t even admit the objective truth that the actor was actually a terrible pick for you and he doesn’t fit you at all

m keeps leaving overhead lights on even though he knows i dislike that and i periodically remind him to try to remember to turn them off, etc. given my other concerns about our relationship, i've become sort of paranoid that he's doing it on purpose or in some sort of subconsciously cruel way to lower my expectations or whatever, idk, you probably get the gist of what i'm saying. i always talk myself out of saying anything to him because he gets so defensive so this morning i texted him about it before i could talk myself out of it (i literally asked if he could turn off the light moments before he left, he said "yeah" in a tone like i asked him to dissect a possum before he leaves, and he did not turn off the light).. he was so pissed and was like, "yeah, i don't like getting ready in the DARK. excuse me, i have to WORK" that's not what he literally said but that was his angle, like, make me feel like bc i don't work outside the home, it's ridiculous to expect anything from him. it's so over. lol

yknow i love transmasc/tboy dirk always and forever but the way some ppl treat transmascness vs transfemmeness in HS's narrative........kinda sucks. like the whole thing about how being transfeminine is a literal transient experience and lets the character in question (any character) truly escape the oppression of HS's narrative-as-a-character which is patriarchal and toxic (lord english, hussie-the-character to an extent. i guess. idk ive seen a lotta ppl lump SI-hussie in w/ this), which is great and does hold weight as an analytical lens esp with how hussie irl is nonbinary. but where does this leave transmasc characters. why are we treating (headcanoned) transfemme HS characters like this and then tbh gleefully dooming (headcanoned) transmasc characters to eternal narrative suffering brought by LE and then mocking them for being ''gross tboys'' full of ''icky testorerone'' so its their fault theyre in this perpetual torment really? because they ''''chose to be a man''''? dunno man its starting to feel bad. especially since some bnf's who are really into this fan theory do actually kinda treat the general idea of transmasculinity like somthing to hold with tongs at arms length away from them. as if its alien or infectous or something and then get really mad when equally dysphoric transmascs do the same with feminity. why are we dooming dirk strider to eternal toxic-masculine suffering and what does that say about how we treat real life transmasc folks both in and outside of the fandom
