No one even bothered looking up. The staff continued scurrying around in carefully controlled chaos, preparing for yet another feast for yet another visiting delegation. 

All were by now very familiar with the antics of their prince and his perpetually misplaced manservant. The two would find their way back to each other. Eventually.

In the meantime, Arthur was growing visibly frustrated by the bustle of busy servants, none of whom were tall, chattering, and wearing a familiar neckerchief. 

It seemed every servant in Camelot was currently crowding the halls of the castle. Every servant except- 

“MERLIN!”

I’ll be honest, when I started reading Night Watch I wasn’t sure how much I would like it. I have not finished it yet — I’m in the last hundred-page stretch — but hot DAMN here I am positively hootin�� and hollerin’ at how absolutely insane this book is. The amount of times I’ve said “holy shit” to myself out loud in the last thirty minutes could set a world record.

So fun fact, in his best man speech, my best friend said, "I don't know how else to describe him other than he's aggressively friendly." which has since become a favorite line of everyone and has even gotten back to coworkers who all agreed lmao.

We were talking about that today when hanging out and he was like "Yeah, honestly that was a last minute epiphany. I had this idea and concept of what I was gonna say, but I was thinking 'he's like a golden retriever', but that didn't quite feel right. Then it hit me."

So that was fun backstory for that to me. He killed his speech btw. My wife even said he did better than her matron of honor who was her best friend lol
