dancing is one of my favorite devotional acts/offerings.

Apollo and Ares are the gods i work with most. Apollo, because i think it was always going to happen—i’m a queer artist, a musician, a poet. i’m chronically ill. i’m exactly the kind of person to be drawn to Apollo, and He’s my patron. i think.

Ares, for many reasons. i’m highly political, i’m a SA survivor and abuse victim, i love to move, i’m argumentative, i’m emotional. and (amusingly) i’m an aries.

now, for those who don’t know:

Apollo is a sun god (not THE sun god), as well as god of prophecy, most arts, poetry, healing, and disease, to be concise. there’s more, but for the sake of this, i’ll keep it short.

Ares is the god of war, courage, and civil order. He’s also sometimes (more recently) lauded as a protector of women, abuse victims, and SA victims. lesser known is that He was, for a time, worshipped as a god of dance and movement.

because of their domains, Ares and Apollo can both be worshipped via dance, so i often set aside time in the day to blast music and dance until my body aches. it makes me feel alive and joyful, and it’s especially helped in the last few days.

don’t get me wrong, i don’t dance very well. but i still dance.

Elwing survives & is found by Oropher & Thranduil // Galadriel & Celeborn. oropher, thranduil, oropher's wife, and thranduil's then-gf // galadriel & celeborn take Elwing to Gondolin as refugees. The Silmaril is left hidden in the woods of melian's domain.

507 - Elwing comes to Gondolin.

509 - Idril captured by Morgoth. Idril reveals the location of Gondolin in exchange for an Oath to not harm her family (Turgon, Tuor, and Earendil). Idril rescued.

510 - Gondolin prepares for war with Morgoth.

513-522 - Siege of Gondolin. Deaths of Duilin and Rog. Gothmog slain by Aredhel the Huntress. First use of the Three Rings by Lomion and Celebrimbor in defense of Gondolin. House of the Hammer of Wrath destroyed.

523 - Maedhros believes a Silmaril is with Elwing at Gondolin.

525 - Earendil weds Elwing. Lomion weds ???. Adoption of Gil-Galad

532 - Births of Elrond and Elros.

538 - Third Kinslaying at Gondolin. Death of Amras. Elrond and Elros kidnapped by Maglor. Deaths of Elwing and Turgon. Second use of the Three Rings by Lomion and Celebrimbor. Deaths of Maedhros and Aredhel. Lomion named King of Gondolin and High King of the Noldor. Deaths of Salgant, Penlod, and Tuor. Earendil named Lord of the House of the Wing.

540-549 - War declared between Gondolin and the Feanorians of Himring over the Third Kinslaying and kidnapping of Princes Elrond and Elros.

549 - Elrond and Elros recovered. Feanorians and Gondolin severely weakened. Celebrimbor // Gil-Galad declared heir to the High Kingship.

552-554 - Second Siege & Fall of Gondolin. Third use of the Three Rings by Lomion and Celebrimbor. Deaths of Ecthelion, Glorfindel, Egalmoth, and Turgon. Idril and Celebrimbor lead survivors through the Secret Way.

555 - Gondolithlim refugees arrive at Sirion.

556 - Idril departs for Valinor.

558 - Earendil searches for Valinor.

560 - Havens of Sirion destroyed by Morgoth. Gondolithlim/Doriathrim survivors scattered. Elrond and Elros rescued (as adults) by Maglor.

572 - Morgoth controls Beleriand. Earendil and reembodied Elwing come to Valinor and rally the Host.

575-617 - War of Wrath

618 - Maglor claims the Silmaril from Eonwe's camp and casts himself into the Sea. Death of Maglor.

620 - End of the First Age.

3225 - Ar-Pharazon seizes the Sceptre.

3228 - Elrond claims the Sceptre. Ar-Pharazon disowned. Tar-Miriel named Ruling Queen.

3232 - Sauron taken to Numenor as a prisoner.

3274 - Elrond kicks Sauron out of Numenor and outlaws the morgoth cult.

3310 - Morgoth cult publicly reappears.

3319 - Downfall of Numenor. Tar-Miriel leads a greater force of the Faithful away.

The main details I'm figuring out right now are

does Celebrimbor still die at Eregion - I don't think he's getting captured/tortured, but he could still die in the battle. On the other hand, he could probably survive by using Narya & Lomion using Nenya, but that would definitely have repercussions further down the line

how does Idril's deal work - I'm currently thinking of Idril exchanging the location of Gondolin for her family's guaranteed safety, because it seems in character for Reverse Idril? But on the other hand, even if I limit it to immediate family at the time of the oath (tuor, turgon, earendil) then idk where turgon dies? Maybe Maglor can kill him but that seems kind of random

where and how does Turgon die

how does Prince Elrond's character even work

how does Numenor still fall when factoring in Prince Elrond - I'm thinking that the morgoth death cult gained enough traction during the time sauron was there that even after Elrond kicks him out, the cult still sticks around and reemerges later? The Fall still happens, but they never go to attack valinor and there's a good deal more Faithful (maybe 40-60%?)

I imagine Orion as that one cousin nobody likes. He prides himself on being a powerful son of Poseidon and doesn't know his place. That will become his downfall.

Poseidon doesn't think Orion's arrogance a big deal, so he makes the younger Olympians get along withhis son. For some reason, Orion seemed to be infatuated with Artemis.

Artemis isn't naive of Orion's nature, she knows about Orion's attack on the daughter of his previous host (King Oinopion and his daughter Merope).

Because of this, Artemis immediately puts Orion on the blacklist and keeps him the hell away from her female companions.

We all know how Apollo is protective of his twin. Mess with Artemis and you will be greeted with an arrow in the ass. So when Orion came along, all the red flags were set up in his brain.

Persephone and Athena are highly alerted of Orion too, maybe even more protective than Apollo because they were both previously victim and almost victim of assault. No way in hell they will let their sister get in danger.

So when Orion tails behind Artemis during her hunts, either Apollo, Persephone, or Athena immediately follows along. They never let these two alone together.

When Orion almost attacked Opis, one of the virgin huntress, Artemis fatally shot him as retribution, but didn't outright kill him because of pressure from Poseidon.

After setting a the divine relevant of a restriction order on Orion, Artemis left him with a warning, "I've killed a giant before for kidnapping my mother. Don't think I will let you crawl away alive if you pull that shit again with my friends."

Ares pats Artemis on the back and says he would have killed Orion right away if he were Artemis.

Orion was mad and humiliated from Artemis' punishment, which is why he swore to become the greatest hunter ever seen and to outrank Artemis as revenge.

Orion wasn't killed by Artemis or Apollo eventually. It was Gaia who sent a scorpion to sting him after he proclaimed to kill all living animals on Earth.

When Orion died, the siblings (mostly Apollo and Persephone) suggested an eternal punishment for him. They turned him into a constellation and created the Scorpio constellation to forever chase him across the sky.

To this day, the siblings will spend time laying in an open field together and watch the chase of Orion and the scorpion.

În această poveste, Hyperion, mare magnat ce știe mult prea bine că banii nu pot cumpăra fericirea, încearcă să o invite la un date pe femeia de care este îndrăgostit, pe numele ei Cătălina, ce este administratora + propietara unui lanț de pensiuni cu numele de Luceafărul. Motivul pentru care Hyperion (thinks he) fumbles pe una dintre cele mai frumoase persoane pe care le-a întâlnit vreodată? Ei bine, Cătălina este măritată de mulți ani- și de ce este oare soțul ei, Cătălin, tot atât de frumos pe cât este și ea?

Hyperion ar vrea să dispară de pe fața pământului de rușine când își dă seama că voia să se bage pe o femeie măritată (și pentru o secundă și pe soțul ei), dar nu o face, căci datorită unui mecanism narativ foarte folositor (fenomenul înzăpezirii), Hyperion este obligat să stea cu aceste două bomboane de propietari și să navigheze sentimentele complexe și conflictele inutile pe care aceștia le trezesc în el ca simpli moldoveni queer. Serios, fanficul ăsta e doar Hyperion fiind a loser în cel mai aesthetic și adorabil mod posibil.

Ik Ares is a ‘bad dad’ in canon, but I have my own headcanons regarding this;

It’s an act.

The Gods, decided by Zeus, are not allowed to interfere much with their kids lives. And humans die way easier than Gods.

I imagine, at some point, the Gods decided to not get attached. Ares just has to try really, really hard. Because while I’m sure all the gods love their kids in SOME WAY—

Ares is literally Dad. He killed Poseidon’s son, Halirrhothios, after he raped Ares’ daughter, Alcippe (Boss behavior fr fr). He was put on trial for it, and a majority of Goddesses pretty much went “Free my boy. He did nothing wrong.”

So yes. Ares is DEFINITELY Dad trying to pretend he’s not, because he’s not allowed to be.

He also def gives Major Girl Dad

HEY GUYS

I've been scouring the internet and I feel like there's some grand conspiracy

WHY IS IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO FIND ANTI-S.A. DEVICES?

in my searching I've seen a lot of promising ideas that went no where. other than that, the only thing I've been able to find is articles about why anti-rape devices are bad for feminism somehow I still don't entirely understand (like yes, we shouldn't have to use devices to protect ourselves, but we should be able to?)

HOWEVER I found literally one YouTube channel that tells you how to make belts out of bike locks. here's what I did: (it favors people with wider hips, so it's definitely not perfect and it's not enough)

1: put on a belt around your waist to a loop where you CANNOT take off your pants without undoing the belt (and also make sure it's comfy, sit at different angles, move around with it on)

2: measure the belt up to that loop. that measurement is how long your metal chain thing has to be. (KEEP IN MIND) this will not protect against all situations and will not make you entirely safe AND ALSO if you get hurt while wearing it, first responders may have a difficult time removing your pants. this is to say that you should find a chain thing of medium quality so paramedics can have an easier time cutting through, but abusers will be more deterred.

3: buy a lock. personally I wouldn't suggest a key lock as if you want to go to the bathroom, you will need the key on your person which makes it less effective. I like the locks that need a code, but *really* think of a good password (for example, if you are known for liking bacon, don't make your password pigs) I don't know the stats, but ppl you know are more likely to assault you, so if your friends can figure out your code it's not the best. also make sure your lock isn't too bulky to hide in your pants.

4: this is the slightly-artsy part, I haven't actually done this personally yet (I just got my "belt" part in the mail). make 2 incisions on the inside, one on each side of the button. (sidenote: choose sturdy pants that you like and also where the pants legs can't be rolled all the way up.) and if you can, reinforce the incision so the hole so it doesn't fray or get otherwise damaged.

5: loop the "belt" part through the inner beltline of your pants and lock it in the front. hopefully the lock should tuck into your pants.

this is not perfect and will not protect you from many forms of assault. for me, I ultimately decided it would be a good decision for me when I wasn't sure if something had happened while I was asleep. the idea is the belt would at least deter people/give me proof/raise hella red flags if it was clearly tampered with during the night. there are other situations I've thought of where it could have helped.

moreover, I'm so mad that this is all I've found. I've felt so unsafe since I was assaulted and a device like this would give me at least some emotional relief while I treat my anxiety. it is also extra time to think in the worst situation. I don't know. someone please add to the conversation haha

i think walking through potato fields in the morning fog that this is a place of misunderstanding of misappropriating of mispronouncing and i feel justified in my targeted misanthropy but then i think it's not that simple it never is

i've found no golden cities my eyes were never masked i've harvested no crops i sit in a chapel marked by gods i don't believe in, and i am as far from the ocean that roars in my veins as it is possible to be

but the injustice did not start here or end nothing of the dishonor is unique to this place i am not better for being born of the sand and the sea i would not be worse if i'd been born of the prairie

i still haven't found a reason when the wind rides the prairie grasses the ocean finds me even here
