Doing a little series where I took some ship requests on my instagram to make them fankids, this one is for me tho (jeanlisa to kick it off whoo 🙌🏻) The lineup so far is Cytham, Kavetham, Lionfish (aka Freminet x Gaming aged up probably idk how old they are canonically), Cynonari, Jealuc, and Beiguang, and feel free to send me some other pairings you wanna see (as long as they are legal pls otherwise I will ignore it 👎)

I'm gonna ramble about some headcanons and lore for them under the cut, continue with caution bc I'm insane

These two are my brainrot rn, don't even joke lad. And I wanna tell yall their name meanings too bc I like them a lot 🥹 Zephra's means "west wind" derived from Greek, and it's the feminine version of Zephyr. Tyrian was a type of purple dye used by the Ancient Phoenicians, huge huge HUGE thanks to my pookie bear @miothefish for helping me out with his name!!! Also he has Lisa's butterfly earring and you can't see bc of the angle but Zephra has the rose that went in her hair holding her ponytail <3

I'm also making a massive family tree for the characters as a go along, and just the jeanlisa tree is taking up half of the canvas bc of the KoF and Sumeru characters since Cyno is their uncle and the rest of the gang are their honorary uncles 😭 I'll be posting that once the series is done/all the requests are finished/I run out of ships and otps I enjoy

Here's an alternative version with some more info on most of the characters I wanted to briefly mention in their relation to them; Tyrian likes calling Eula his aunt too even though she was never really considered one for them so it's kind of like her unofficial title she pretends to dislike but she loves it and dotes on Tyrian 🤭 She and Diluc also helped train Zephra with a claymore and Diluc kind of became a parental figure to her in her teen years after Lisa's passing 🥺 She also feels like she's outshined by Jean and that she's not smart or powerful enough to follow in Lisa's footsteps (something that Lisa wouldn't want anyways bc it led her to her death 😔) rip zephra she's just like me fr

And yeah some Kaeya angst bc he's still going thru it I fear, and Jean is single mombossing but she's worried for zephra which me too dawg, im afraid to say she might be cooked 😦 Zephra is also kind of like a weird mix of Lisa when she was her age and Jean, where overall she's well-mannered and kind but she can be competitive and feel the need to push herself too much and pull a few strings to get what she wants from time to time. Tyrian is a ray of sunshine tho, he has not yet witnessed the horrors 💔 I do think that Jean is also a lot easier on him than her mom was with her so that also helps. He's very shy tho and wants to stick with Zephra or Razor most of the time, and they both have some nasty tan lines from going out with Razor and Klee and Fischl a lot 😔 Cyno also freaking loves them and dotes on them and Tyrian is getting a TCG addiction because of it smh, Cyno is also one of Zephra's favorite people and when she's in Sumeru she stays with him and Alhaitham (bc in my universe they are married ough I love cytham)

And (I think?) Klee physically and mentally ages slower than humans so I think she'd be technically 9 or 10, and Zephra is left with babysitting duty most of the time if she's home on break or smth 😭 Klee really looks up to her tho

Also, I wrote Tyrian's last bullet point like he was super young when Lisa died, but I think he was around 7 so he actually remembers Lisa better than I intended it to sound, he was just younger than Zephra (who was 11 at the time) and just didn't have as much time with her as Zeph did, but his most fond memory of Lisa was reading with her and she probably taught them some potion-making skills too.

I think there will be some abyss angst in here too at some point, since I hc Lisa to be probably an Abyss Lector/Harold (I forget which is which) um so thinking that Zeph and Tyrian experiencing some not normal things happening and Jean doesn't know what to do since Lisa also didn't really know what that dog in her was until it was too late 😔 That's what Kaeya's for tho since he's like the heir of the abyss???? Go off king. Also some touchy ragbros angst bc Kaeya is scared for Zeph knowing how close she is with Luc and he doesn't want him to push her away because of her being from the abyss or smth (they mostly made up but it's still a fear in Kaeya's mind both for him and Jean's kids)

I think that's all I wanted to touch on for now?? Mainly just thinking about domestic fluff and angst all the time now 🥺 Zeph not being able to be open with Jean bc she feels like a disappointment but Jean would literally actually die for her and shes proud of her no matter what ough im going to lose my freak dawg guess who my favorite fankid is it's super hard ik

You're having a really nice dream. Bradley's voice is soft, gentle as he says your name, sings it, laughs around it. His lips trail a line of gentle kisses from your ear to your nose, over both eyes and finally down to your lips --

As if on cue, thunder rumbles and Bradley's hold on you tightens. It takes great effort to open your eyes but you manage and twist in his arms until you find his face. He smiles at you and kisses your nose, his mustache tickling your skin.

"Hi," he says back. You take a few moments to process what he's said before finding the words.

"Does that mean no hike?" He nods, his hand sliding beneath your sleep shirt to rest on your lower back. He's so warm.

"No hike," he says. You rub your eyes.

"You got a plan B, Lieutenant?"

Today was meant to be a date organized by Bradley. A drive through somewhere beautiful to a hike that would take you somewhere even more beautiful and then lunch. He's been excited about it all week and as your brain catches up with what's happening you're a bit disappointed on his behalf.

"Not as exciting as plan A, but I do."

Your eyes slide closed and you sandwich your knee between his legs. "Tell me more."

Bradley traces the lines of your face with one long finger as he talks. "We can play cards," he murmurs. "I need to reclaim my gin rummy title." You huff a laugh. He's a sore loser. "I'll make you breakfast or we can order from that bagel place."

"And make some poor teenager bike it over in the rain?"

"I'll tip a lot." You can't see him but you can hear his smile. It's a gorgeous smile, a soft one, one that drew you to him the very first time you met. Bradley is loud, he's good at being the center of attention, he's intense, he's magnetic. But there's a softness, a tenderness to him that takes your breath away.

"What else?"

"We can just relax. Nap on the couch, watch a whole season of a TV show. Hey, don't fall asleep again --"

"I'm not," you huff. You open your eyes and twist your body so that you're on top of him. He grunts but allows it as you straddle him lightly. "Are you suggesting we have a relaxing day?"

There's that grin again. "I guess I am." You bury your face in his neck.

"Never thought I'd see the day." He's all go go go, your boyfriend. He's always planning for something, worrying about something, spinning about ten plates in the air. But you know that given the chance he really does enjoy slowing down and letting all of that cease for even just a day.

Thunder rumbles again. He wraps his arms around you and you sink impossibly further into him. "I'm sorry we don't have days like this often," he says softly.

"The day hasn't even started yet." He squeezes your hip. "But don't apologize, Bradley. I'll take you any way I can get you."

"I know," he says. "I do want us to go on that hike sometime, by the way." You groan. "No, listen, it's because I can't die without seeing you see that view for the first time. It's really amazing."

You pull away from him and smooth the hair from his face, trace the lines at the corners of his eyes. So much hardship, so much tragedy, and he's still got smile lines. "This view is pretty amazing, too."

He flushes. Confident as he is, soft words in your bedroom seem to undo him. He's told you that he feels most himself when you're looking at him because you see him. You feel the same.

"Tell me about it." He cups the back of your neck and pulls you down for a proper kiss, slotting his lips with yours and tracing the seam with his tongue. "I love you," he says. "Thank you for dealing with me."

You huff. As if it's a hardship. "I love you back. Let's go order bagels."

He springs out of bed without another word, you in his arms, and laughs as you yelp all the way to the kitchen.

why you should read Mystic Prince if you enjoyed ORV

Mystic Prince / Prince of Myolyeong (묘령의 황자) is a fantasy and action-adventure manhwa with art & story by Aheuredal (아흐레달) and in my humble opinion, an absolute hidden gem. it's literally one the best manhwas i've ever read (among the top 2) and i've finally gathered my thoughts enough to try to articulate why i love it so much, and hopefully convince you to give it a chance!

here's the official summary on webtoon:

An immortal emperor rules the Kingdom of Yeol, a divine country blessed by gods with awesome powers. After a thousand years of peaceful rule, the time has come for a new emperor to be chosen. This is determined by a series of trials, in which twenty princes with special powers who have trained since birth must compete. As all princes of varying personalities and agendas gather to partake in the trials, intrigue and possibly even bloodshed seem all but certain. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the other princes, the Fourth Prince Jeok-yeon Ryu hides a secret he must guard with his life.

Mystic Prince is incredibly unique in terms of story and execution that i can't really compare it to anything else but here's why i think you'll enjoy it, especially if you also liked orv:

strong-willed MC who's not naturally skilled but works extremely hard

said MC is willing to suffer and hurt themselves to achieve their goals (aka kim dokja-esque tendencies)

seemingly cold and aloof ML with yoo joonghyuk vibes at first, naturally gifted and seems to look down on everyone

...but is actually head over heels for MC and just doesn't know how to express his feelings

ensemble cast of incredibly complex and well-developed characters with different personalities and motivations

MC seems a little dense at times but they have a tragic backstory that explains why they're Like That

incredibly bisexual vibes !! like literally off the charts

slowburn romance that is cooking up such a great meal

MC and ML have actually known each other for centuries

characters go through trials that involve risking death

extremely unique lore and world-building

i said ML before but there are actually multiple potential MLs with how much complexity all the character dynamics have

beautiful character designs (literally over 10+ within the main cast and they're all so unique)

evocative writing and heartfelt monologues that seem taken out of a book of pure poetry

narratively significant motifs of fire and water (à la orv's black/white and reader/protagonist)

profound and realistic depiction of the inner feelings and troubles that the characters go through

incredibly heart-wrenching original soundtrack! (actually made me cry)

some of the most gorgeous art i've seen in any manhwa (seriously pls just open the 1st episode and look at the first few panels)

MC is actually cross-dressing afab (i personally hc them as genderqueer; korean doesn't have gendered pronouns but the official tl uses she/her pronouns)

bonus: they're built like a fucking tank (as seen here) like hello??? which is so refreshing to see for an afab MC

plus they're also canonically lacking in empathy but still deeply compassionate which again is really refreshing

i'm sure there's even more stuff i'm forgetting but these are just some reasons off the top of my head why i think this manhwa is so amazing

please do give Mystic Prince a chance, it's an absolute delight!! there are multiple beautiful covers but here's a couple of them, BE ART BAITED <3

and finally some of my personal reactions to Mystic Prince and also a note regarding the content warnings under the cut!

feel free to skip this part lol but personally when i look for recs, i love when people tell me their emotional reactions and how passionate they are about it! so if this tells you anything,

this is the ONLY manhwa to have made me cry so far (yes that includes the orv webtoon, but not the novel ofc) like actually ugly sobbing with snot and tears and everything lmao

(it's not all sad though! this manhwa will have you clutching your heart one moment and then cackling out loud the next)

and it's also the ONLY manhwa i've ever spent actual money on before the fan tl picked it up just so i could read the advanced chapters (i'm notoriously cheap so this says a lot imo)

and i'm not alone in this, every other comment on webtoon is people saying the exact same thing. the general consensus is that this is 100% a hidden gem (webtoon DP my behated why'd you have to shoot yourself in the foot like that)

- ok so after the first date (which goes surprisingly well), you start hanging around the precinct more, and at first Connie and Sasha are ELATED because you didn't do it that often before jean. like they didn't realise that it was because you wanted to see him, sasha was just happy that you'd bring mid-day coffee to her and Connie was happy to just rant to you about how "no-one here trusts me ugh" (he's like a mix of Gina and Charles istg) and ur like mhm yeah it's totally not because you file your paperwork wrong everytime. totally, king. MHM.

- and jean usually grabs some lunch outside (which you notice!) and at this point you're not in an Established Relationship, aka you haven't had the "what are we" talk yet so it's mainly just you guys hanging out. right and eren recognises you and like jokes around with you and it pisses jean off SO BAD and eren (the little shit) KNOWS THAT. so he's just trying to get under jeans skin. and you become like this unofficial part of the family :3

- which, by the way, let's do this. who's who. Reiner is the sarge (yes he goes with the suspenders and yes eren and Connie objectify him because of his boobs). Connie and Sasha are partners because they work really well together since the beginning of Time and they're also really good at acting so they get assigned alot of undercovers. CAPTAIN LEVI it's in the name guys c'mon. hange is the autopsy..person. idk the actual name of it. but you get it. Erwin is Levi's husband and it's the whole arc of them basically adopting the precinct :) Mikasa and Armin are partners, jean and eren are also partners (most of the times) because they also work really well together. jean applied to be a lieutenant but that comes way later in the story. so hang on. for rn, tho, Armin is the lieutenant, and marco is the office assistant. ANYWAY

- right so. uhhh cue the Thanksgiving shenanigans. Levi (begrudgingly) invites the whole squad + hange, and asks everyone to bring your own dish. here's what happened

HALLOWEEN HEIST IS ALSO REAL AND IT HAPPENS. and you participate. the first year is pretty mild for you, you're jeans accomplice as he tries to beat eren's team to steal the captain's cup of tea. and it's a whole Thing and you do the thing you do best - distract the captain. again, surprisingly, you get him to open up a little while jean gets in through the office's ceiling and you're talking to the captain, sweating, "oh yeah no, totally, the DMV is crazy....MHM!! the lines were so bad when I went last." anyway. at the end, eren and jean are tied, back to back to a chair while the captain (very menacingly) asks them if they're proud of what they accomplished. turns out the captain won. (i have headcanons for this too but this post is becoming too long so,,)

- enough about the squad, more about you and jean. right, so soon after Thanksgiving, the two of you finally have The Talk. after a particularly long day at the precinct, jean is slumped over his desk doing paperwork and everyone has almost already left. Connie had come over to ur place to tell you about the shitty day he had, and you fed him some dinner after that, and he fell asleep on your couch while watching a show (not an uncommon occurence) and his situation got you thinking about jean. you usually tried not to bother jean too much by sending too many messages or calling a lot, so he knows it's important when he gets a call from you. and he takes a break from work and answers and he swears you breathe life into him after he hears you ask him how he's doing. he tells you that "these muscles aren't for nothing" which gets a sigh and a laugh in return. "how long are you gonna stay at the precinct?" you ask him. "i don't know, the works never ending." he says and you've already made up your mind, taking a Tupperware of the dinner you had made, along with a thermos of coffee and head on over to the place. when you're downstairs, you call jean again and tell him to come down too and he's like "what are you doing here holy shit it's late" and you're like "yeah I could tell u the same thing. i got u sum food open up slut" and he leads you to the balcony to get some fresh air while eating (also because if he were to spill even a morsel of food on his desk after the cleaning crew had gone home, the captain would have his head on a plate. anyway. the terrace/balcony. do u see the parallels.

and you and jean get to talking, you tell him about your day and then are like "I'm sorry if I'm distracting you." "no I like the distraction. i don't mind it." and you smile but then just come out and say it "hey so what are we?" and jeans like "??? have I not asked u to be my partner yet?" and you decide to tease him a bit and are like "partner? are u recruiting me to be a detective?" "no! i mean, if that's what...your passion is, then yes, but please be safe. oh ur fucking with me. okay." and u laugh and kiss him on the cheek and he's like "no that's not gonna cut it" and then he grabs your face (GENTLY) and kisses you so softly and helplessly that you're glad he's holding your face otherwise your bones would've just fallen to the ground without structure.

- Since most of time he’s shy to imitate things with you he does other things to make you feel your loved, Such as doing your nails(It’s canon he does his nails too ehe)and doing your hair, and sometimes makeup(I headcanon that mica even when in her high school days loved makeup and doing hair and is really good at it and taught kags some tricks)

- Although he might blush...he loves it when you kiss his nose, lips and neck although he won't admit it of course~

- Your the only one who can make him really smile and everyone is beyond shocked. The king...with a bright and genuine smile on? What did you do to him? They question lol

- He likes it when you watch him practice bonus if you’re their manager and is always there. It makes him happy and motivated to do good in front of you :3

- He gets jealous easily. Not with a person...with everyone...now of course at first he doesn't know why he feels like this...but you’ll quickly notice the change in his behavior cause he’s all grumpy, unmotivated, and sulky. You better give him reassurance, hugs and kisses or he gon be really mad at you >:(

Anyway so! Angels! TL;DR of this post, Life Made angels from the clouds.

Why is this important?

W i n g s. The first batch of angels were seraphim, which have pure white or cream feathers and were pulled from cirrus clouds! Oh yeah, I went there. Why wouldn’t I go full weather nerd in this paranormal romance series c’mon!! Anyway, then came Thronim, Made at golden hour which stained the edges and in some cases all their underfeathers a bright, shimmering gold. Last came cherubim, who were Made just before sunset, when the edges of their feathers got stained with shades of dusty pink to rose gold. Listen I like my aesthetics, suspend your disbelief

The second batch came from stormclouds: dominatum have white feathers with brown and/or grey speckles; virtia have brown and/or grey feathers with a small-medium amount of white spots; and potestia have light to medium grey feathers with a blue or cinnamon sheen.

But what if different subtypes have a baby together?

Subtype is not guaranteed by parental mix, unless both parents are of the same subtype, and have that same subtype at least two generations back. A new subtype will not spontaneously appear in a family line, i.e. if two G3 seraphs have a child, who has two children with a G3 virti, the possibility for those children would be a seraph or a virti, but nothing else.

And yes angels are only given a specific choice of careers according to their subtype, they are. Strict as fuck. It’s weird for how like gentle and soothing Life is that her brainchildren are so. Like That. ANYWAY.

Let’s talk social structure.

The hierarchy itself is like a two-tier cake, so you have everything in the high orders as more or less the same rank, and then everything in the lower order as more or less the same rank. High orders serve Sanctuary and low orders serve the rest.

The high orders are:

Sanctori make the laws. There are so fucking many of them and like 80% can be summed up as “mom said don’t fuck with the humans.”

Imperatori are the judges, there are no juries in Sanctuary. The “Supreme Court” of Sanctuary, aka where you go when you REALLY fuck up, is the Hall of Justice, presided over by the Seven. Current imperatori primus (basically maintains order and serves as the the tiebreaker vote) is Altael, and he is a Delight.

Iustitia are the jailers, they bring other angels to imperatori courts. They’re less cops and more like special agent bounty hunters. With swords. Big swords.

Custodia are caretakers of the holy holding tank, which is where MOST souls end up as long as they haven’t been bastards in life. It’s really hard to fuck up that bad AND YET sometimes people decide to commit genocide for breakfast.

Curatori are empaths and heart-healers. Imagine a therapist on steroids.

Aedifexi are the architects and builders, responsible for housing Sanctuary, maintaining the holy holding tank, etc.

And then we have the lower orders:

Ultori are those who cast out other angels. They do the imperatori’s dirty work.

Praesti are also known as justice keepers. They work with vigilisi (who are stuck at the borders and can’t go beyond) and go after Abominations that escape — to use a mass effect term, they’re basically Spectres.

Vigilisi, or veil watchers, patrol the border for Abominations.

Artifexi are the makers, tinkerers, painters, and other craftsmen.

Focari are those responsible for cooking, baking, etc. They keep Sanctuary fed!

Ultori are the exception to the lower orders serving the rest of the realm; they’re the executioners and thus seen as Unclean. And like the ultori, the curatori aren’t really “supposed” to be a high order and definitely aren’t treated as such, but they needed the authority in order to get where they needed to go. Aedifexi get their rank because they’re literally the backbone of society, there would be no bridges or buildings or indoor plumbing without the aedifexi. We can’t take the birdbaths away from the angels!!

So what happens to the angels who fuck up?

✨ they fall ✨

Naturally, because angels like everyone to fit in neat little boxes, fallen also have Special Titles:

Parvia are those cast out over minor offenses, technicalities, etc; their wings are left intact and they’re simply walked to the border. Bye, have a nice life, we also packed all your shit into this tiny magic box. Don’t open it indoors.

Mediocri are those cast out over nonviolent offenses, victimless crimes; their wings are broken but left attached, then they’re dragged to border and Fithum, Zegan, Stazor & Smith are contacted to come pick up their new case.

Indigni are those cast out over violent offenses; proportional to their crimes (according to the code set forth by the sanctori), their wings are shredded and they’re dragged to border and left for dead. FZS&S have a regular patrol that drives up and down the Veil in case they need to grab one before someone else does.

Nefasi really, really fucked up. Either someone died or a soul was destroyed; their wings are just torn off, and they’re taken to the platform outside the Hall of Justice, and they’re booted off the edge. Good luck! Only three angels have ever become nefasi, and only one has survived the subsequent boot to the back, but Phada is a story for another day. Ask me about vampires sometime >:)

hmmmmmmmmmmm honestly I like most veggies, they're just. so yummy. There's a common vegetable in India called karela aka bitter gourd which, as the name suggests, is bitter. I actually don't think I've ever had it, or maybe I just tried it once and that's it cuz I don't like bitter stuff.

a more specific answer is baingan bharta. it's a particular way of cooking baingan aka eggplant (or brinjal as we call it) which quite frankly, is gross. i love eggplant - i like it pan fried or roasted or baked or whatever - just not baingan bharta.

Right, Indian food is full of plant based dishes, it's one of my favourite cuisines. Western veganism to me is white fitness people going vegan for health reasons and eating food with no flavour. I actually have a friend who's sensitive to flavours, so she eats pretty bland food, but most vegans don't care about health that much jjshshkakwjsjsjw so we just eat junk, but vegan. If you serve me a simple raw salad I might cry. I don't think I have a fave dish, but I'd say vegan burgers are on another level. Years ago they were just dry bean or chickpea patties with some veggies, no flavour, no texture. Nowadays even meat eaters love them. I also love vegan noodles, be it ramen, pho, pad thai, whatever. If you're a cook or a chef and you're scared of making plant based food idk what to tell you 💀

He lingers by the preschool’s front gates, leaning his back against them with his arms folded, waiting for you to be let off your shift so he can talk to you. The one time he actually tried entering the building, he was immediately accosted by kids trying to grab his ears and tail. It was a nightmare--and since then, no matter how much he might have liked you, he swore to only attempt talking to you outside of your regular work hours and location.

Poor Leona really struggles to make conversation--not because he’s nervous or anything, but because he dislikes children and has to hold himself back from making a comment about how annoying he finds them to be. You can talk about your kids for hours on end, but all Leona can muster as a response are awkward head nods and grunts.

He eventually manages to find his footing by settling on telling tales about his furball of a nephew, Cheka. Leona won’t say it out loud, but he loves seeing how your eyes light up at his stories--and he finds himself daydreaming about how he’d feel if they were directed at him.

He accidentally lets it slip that there may be someone he fancies to Cheka, which, of course, sends him into a giggling fit. Cheka sings songs about “Ojitan and the Teacher’s Helper”, makes crayon drawings of them holding hands under a rainbow, and basically serves as Leona’s biggest cheerleader!

You’re a regular at the Mostro Lounge, and Azul comes to learn of your occupation through chatting with you. He finds himself drifting over to your table time and time again, with short greetings quickly turning into prolonged discussions.

While Azul doesn’t look after children of his own, he jokes that dealing with the twins is like handling two overgrown kids anyway. He often trades you stories of the twins’ shenanigans in exchange for stories of your preschoolers’ shenanigans.

He’ll demonstrate how generous he is by occasionally making donations to your preschool. The kids are always excited when the beloved A. Ashengrotto sends them new toys, art supplies, and picture books. Recently, the plastic cash register, play money set, and giant octopus plushie Azul donated have been popular during play time.

When you have the free time, Azul allows you into the kitchen to show you how innovative, helpful, and health-conscious he can be. He stays after the performance to play with the kids! Since Neige is also an actor, he helps the children put on a little stage play. He puts on a paper crown that some preschoolers made for him and ties a blanket around his neck to resemble a cape. Acting like a prince, he takes your hand and guides you to a seat to watch their show!

Neige dances and sings with the kids on the “stage” (aka the show-and-tell rug). The story of their play makes little to no sense, but the children are having a lot of fun, and so are you!

When the play comes to an end, Neige surprises you by dropping to one knee and taking both of your hands. With a light dusting of a blush upon his cheeks, he dons a solemn smile and asks you to be his. “... Hehe. Did that make your heart skip a beat?”

My phone suddenly rang on the first half of the movie. I quickly went to see who it was and my heartbeat immediately picked up its pace after seeing the caller ID being “My love💖”.

I am turning into a such a nervous wreck right now. My hands are starting to shake and my heart is starting to beat so loud that I could basically hear it in my ears. I stood up, looking at Felix silently excusing myself. I walked a little towards our room's window -which is not too far from where he is- before picking up the call.

I thought we were having something special? I thought you said I was and will always be the one for you? What happened, baby? When did everything change? When did things go wrong between us? What did they do to get you sway that easily?” he questioned, his voice shaking from hurt. I sighed, every word was like a stab in my chest. He looked at me, his eyes searching mine for some explanation… any reaction. When they didn't give him anything, he spoke once again.

“When did this start?” he asked. My breath hitched.

It took me a while to answer but I did when I saw that he was getting impatient. “Just today,” I answered, stifling my laugh. He looked at me confusedly and I looked back at him trying to hide my smile.

“What do you mean ‘just today’?” he asked again.

“It's a prank, you dumbo!” I told him as he sat there, his confusion clouding him even more.
